An AI company announced this week that it is digitally resurrecting famed Marvel creator Stan Lee and charging users for access to his recreated voice and likeness. 
ElevenLabs revealed Wednesday that the late comic book writer’s AI-generated voice and image will be added to its growing collection of celebrity recreations that can be licensed for commercial use. 
“You know what they never tell you about legends?” the AI-generated version of Lee says in a promotional video released by the company. “They outlive the page. A good story doesn&#8217;t belong to one moment. It grows. It changes. It gets passed down from generation to generation, constantly evolving.”
“Every great story starts with a hero. And just because a person has a superpower doesn&#8217;t mean they don&#8217;t have the same problems that you have,” the promo continues. “So for the creators, the ones dreaming, building, chasing that one great idea, as long as there are people who believe in it, who carry it forward, it lives on.”

Notably, comments were disabled on the YouTube upload, though critics found their way to social media to express their objections.
“Stop, let the man rest in peace. Lunatics always create problems,” one X user <a href="https://x.com/JosephRodr34982/status/2059977498901774492">wrote</a>.
“I don&#8217;t even dislike AI like most people but using it to revive a dead person is disgusting,” another <a href="https://x.com/NFL_City/status/2059966158174871619">agreed</a>.
“Think about it. You can now rent a dead man&#8217;s voice and likeness for a corporate presentation. We are officially living in the science fiction stories we grew up reading,” echoed a third.
Mixed among the negative comments were a few supporters. 
“Stan Lee&#8217;s voice living on through AI is actually kind of beautiful,” one person <a href="https://x.com/AlphaWireHQ/status/2059935147047166325">wrote</a>. “The man spent his whole life making stories feel alive, and now that energy gets to keep reaching people. Excelsior never really had an expiration date!”
According to ElevenLabs, users will be able to generate comic-book-style images featuring Lee’s likeness, recreate his voice for non-commercial use, and use the AI-generated voice to narrate books through the company&#8217;s app. 
“Stan always believed in meeting his fans where they were: in the pages of a comic, at a convention, or in a quick on-screen cameo,” lawyer and board member for Stan Lee Universe Chaz Rainey said in a statement, per <a href="https://variety.com/2026/biz/news/stan-lee-elevenlabs-licensed-voice-likeness-1236759225/">Variety</a>. “This partnership is a way of continuing that. Fans have always told us that when they read his comics, they hear the words in Stan’s voice, and now, thanks to ElevenLabs, we can make that a reality.”
Lee, who died in 2018, is the latest celebrity to receive an AI-generated digital replica after death.
 An AI-generated version of actor Val Kilmer is set to appear in the upcoming film “As Deep as the Grave” following his death from throat cancer last year. Other deceased celebrities, including <a href="https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20230718-how-ai-is-bringing-film-stars-back-from-the-dead">James Dean</a> and <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/22/entertainment/suzanne-somers-ai-clone-husband">Suzanne Somers,</a> have also been recreated using AI technology. 
Living actors are getting into the game, too. Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine are among the celebrities who have partnered with ElevenLabs to create and license AI versions of their voices.

The transgender-identifying comic book creator who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s death on social media will no longer be producing work for DC Comics, the entertainment company has announced.
The mature readers comic series “Red Hood,” a Batman spinoff project, was written by Gretchen Felker-Martin and had artwork by Jeff Spokes. The first book launched on the same day Kirk was murdered, September 10. 
Felker-Martin’s account on Bluesky is currently suspended, but other users took screenshots to capture his vile reactions. When reports first came in that Kirk was shot, the comic book creator <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/soupytoasterson.bsky.social/post/3lyk4wfhtgk2r">wrote</a>, “Thoughts and prayers you Nazi b****.”
“Hope the bullet’s okay after touching Charlie Kirk,” a follow-up post said.
“The job market is grim, but there’s a silver lining: Gavin Newsom needs a new co-host for his podcast,” Felker-Martin wrote in a third post, referencing a time Kirk and Newsom filmed a podcast episode together.
This prompted DC to cancel the next two planned installments of “Red Hood” and offer retailers reimbursement for any unsold copies of the first issue.
In a statement to io9, DC said it places “the highest value on our creators and community and affirm the right to peaceful, individual expression of personal viewpoints. Posts or public comments that can be viewed as promoting hostility or violence are inconsistent with DC’s standards of conduct,” per <a href="https://gizmodo.com/dc-ends-red-hood-comic-after-writers-charlie-kirk-comments-2000657517">Gizmodo</a>.
This isn’t the first time the trans-identifying man celebrated violence. Referring to anti-trans activist J.K. Rowling, Felker-Martin previously <a href="https://www.them.us/story/bluesky-moderation-suspension-jk-rowling-jessie-earl">wrote</a> on Bluesky, “I hope someone splits her skull,&#8221; earning himself a temporary suspension for violation of policies.
In 2022, Felker-Martin made <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/04/22/writer-gretchen-felker-martin-under-fire-for-killing-j-k-rowling-in-novel/">headlines</a> for releasing the novel “Manhunt,” which included a storyline about burning Rowling alive. He described the book as a, “depraved psychosexual horrorshow.”
Other media personalities were also penalized for their reactions to Kirk’s assassination. Middle Tennessee State University terminated an employee following what the university president described as “inappropriate and callous” comments made on social media.
In a statement released late Wednesday night, MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee confirmed that the employee was let go.
“This employee has been fired effective immediately,” McPhee stated. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the Kirk family.”
MSNBC also severed ties with Matt Dowd for his reaction to the tragedy.
“Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” Dowd said during an appearance on “Katy Tur Reports” just after the shooting. “You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and then not expect awful actions to take place.”
Dowd added, “We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration. So we have no idea about this.”
MSNBC apologized for his remarks, with network president Rebecca Kutler calling the comments “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable” in a statement posted to social media.
“We apologize for his statements, as has he,” Kutler wrote. “There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.”

The stars of one of the next films in Disney&#8217;s Marvel Cinematic Universe — &#8220;The Fantastic Four: First Steps&#8221; — made it clear in a recent interview that their plan is to effectively &#8220;Snow White&#8221; the franchise.

In a recent interview for <a href="https://ew.com/the-fantastic-four-first-steps-mcu-plot-character-details-cover-story-11712063?taid=67f7ebcc645bb3000131484d&amp;utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+New+Content+%28Feed%29&amp;utm_medium=trueAnthem&amp;utm_source=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entertainment Weekly</a>, Jessica Kirby (who plays Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman) explained how she planned to reinterpret her character despite the fact that the film is set in the 1960s in a parallel world within Marvel&#8217;s multiverse.
&#8220;If you played an exact &#8217;60s Sue today, everyone would think she was a bit of a doormat. So figuring out how to capture the essence of what she represented to each generation, where the gender politics were different, and embody that today, was one of the greatest joys of this,&#8221; Kirby began. &#8220;Matt and I were really aware that there hasn&#8217;t really been a mother with a baby in these superhero archetypes women have been getting. One of the things I love most from Sue&#8217;s history is when she becomes Malice, and all her dark stuff comes out. I was obsessed with that chapter of her life. So I wanted to make sure that there were tones of Malice in there with her, that she wasn&#8217;t just the stereotype of a goody, sweet mother.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;ve always been really interested in the mess of femininity, and how can you be both? How can you be all the things? Not just the tough, invincible, powerful woman, but also a mother who gives birth, which is itself a superhero act. I love that these characters are real humans in a messy family who argue and try to work it out and get things wrong,&#8221; Kirby continued.
Joseph Quinn took on the role of Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, and he described how cultural changes had led them to move away from previous portrayals that cast Johnny as an immature hothead and a bit of a player.
&#8220;He&#8217;s a man that leads with a lot of bravado, which can be an affront sometimes. But also he&#8217;s funny,&#8221; Quinn explained. &#8220;Myself and [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin [Feige] were speaking about previous iterations of him and where we are culturally. He was branded as this womanizing, devil-may-care guy, but is that sexy these days? I don&#8217;t think so. This version of Johnny is less callous with other people&#8217;s feelings, and hopefully there&#8217;s a self-awareness about what&#8217;s driving that attention-seeking behavior.&#8221;
The foursome — which also includes Pedro Pascal&#8217;s Mr. Fantastic and Ebon Moss-Bacharach&#8217;s Thing — are expected to reprise their roles in 2026&#8217;s &#8220;Avengers: Doomsday.&#8221;

Australian <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">actress</a> Milly Alcock, best known for starring in HBO’s “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/game-of-thrones">Game of Thrones</a>” prequel spinoff series “House of the Dragon,” has been named as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/comics">DC Universe</a>’s new Supergirl.
The 23-year-old played the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen on the show. Alcock was nominated for a Critics&#8217; Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on &#8220;HOTD.&#8221; Now she’ll become an even bigger household name starring as the iconic superhero in the first <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">film project</a> spearheaded by James Gunn and Peter Safran for the DC Universe (DCU), per <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/01/supergirl-milly-alcock-1235807989/">Deadline</a>.
“This is accurate. Milly is a fantastically talented young actor, and I’m incredibly excited about her being a part of the DCU,” Gunn <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C2s_DqNvqHL/">confirmed</a> on Instagram. “Yes, I first became aware of her in House of the Dragon but I was blown away by her varied auditions and screen tests for #Supergirl,” he continued. “She embodies Kara as envisioned by @tomking_tk and @bliquis and Ana Noguiera.”
Other contenders for the coveted role included “CODA” star Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly, who voiced Supergirl in the DC animated movies “Legion of Superheroes” and “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One,” the outlet noted.
Rumor has it that Supergirl could have a cameo in the upcoming DC film “Superman Legacy,” but that’s so far unconfirmed. The first project Alcock will definitely star in is the upcoming “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” which was announced last year. The storyline will be based on Yom King’s 2022 comic book series.

Gunn told Deadline of this Supergirl version, “In our series we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl. She’s much more hardcore; she’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing.”
Alcock made her screen debut as a teenager in Australia, appearing in commercials before transitioning to various TV projects. “House of the Dragon” was her big break into Hollywood.

Academy Award-winning movie director <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/martin-scorsese">Martin Scorsese</a> is once again making his feelings about comic book and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">franchise movies</a> clear.
The 80-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> mainstay shared his views during a recent cover <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/martin-scorsese-profile">profile</a> for GQ magazine. Scorsese came down hard on the genre and went as far as urging other industry professionals to join him in rebelling against them.
&#8220;The danger there is what it’s doing to our culture. Because there are going to be generations now that think <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">movies</a> are only those — that’s what movies are,&#8221; the legendary director said.
&#8220;They already think that. Which means that we have to then fight back stronger. And it’s got to come from the grassroots level.&#8221;
Scorsese continued, saying, “It’s gotta come from the filmmakers themselves. And you’ll have, you know, the Safdie brothers, and you’ll have Chris Nolan, you know what I mean? And hit ’em from all sides. Hit ’em from all sides, and don’t give up. Let’s see what you got. Go out there and do it. Go reinvent. Don’t complain about it. But it’s true, because we’ve got to save cinema.&#8221; 
He added, &#8220;I do think that the manufactured content isn’t really cinema,” before backtracking a little. &#8220;No, I don’t want to say it,” Scorsese went on. “But what I mean is that, it’s manufactured content. It’s almost like AI making a film.&#8221;

The “Goodfellas” director said he’s not opposed to technology as a whole, citing IMAX and 3D as innovative ways to enhance filmmaking. But he still has no love for the comic book genre. 
&#8220;I’m looking forward to new ways,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You gotta say something with a movie. Otherwise, what’s the point of making it? You’ve got to be saying something.&#8221;
Scorsese got into hot water with Marvel fans in 2019 when he compared superhero films to “theme parks” during an interview with Empire magazine. 
“I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema,” the director <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/avengers-directors-respond-to-martin-scorsese-nobody-owns-cinema">said at the time</a>. “Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn’t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/comics">Comic</a> creator Alan Moore pledged to donate future movie royalties he received to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/black-lives-matter">Black Lives Matter</a>.
The 69-year-old author is best known for his work on “Watchmen,” “V for Vendetta,” “The Ballad of Halo Jones,” “Swamp Thing,” “Batman: The Killing Joke,” and “From Hell.” Moore typically avoids public appearances but shared some of his thoughts in an <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/books/what-to-read/alan-moore-comic-books-black-lives-matter-watchmen/">interview</a> with The Telegraph published on Wednesday.
The comic writer hasn’t wanted his name associated with big-screen adaptations of his work in the past. He previously shared his movie royalties with the film&#8217;s writers and creative types, but no more. 
“I no longer wish it to even be shared with them. I don’t really feel, with the recent films, that they have stood by what I assumed were their original principles,” Moore told the outlet. “So I asked for DC Comics to send all of the money from any future TV series or films to Black Lives Matter.”
The “V for Vendetta” creator said he’s become a recluse partly due to his popularity with the public. 
“I’d talk to people and they were looking at me like they were having some sort of religious experience rather than an ordinary conversation. So I’ve sort of retired into what I probably originally thought a writer’s life was like, where you sit at home and write books,” he explained.
Moore has been openly critical of the modern comic industry, including the concept of comics for adult audiences.
“Now they’re called ‘graphic novels’, which sounds sophisticated and you can charge a lot more for them. What appealed to me most about comics is no more, and these innocent and inventive and imaginative superhero characters from the Forties, Fifties, Sixties are being recycled to a modern audience as if they were adult fare,” he said.
Moore continued, “I didn’t mean my experiments with comics to be immediately taken up as something that the whole industry should do. When I was doing things like Watchmen, I was not saying that dark psychopathic characters are really cool, but that does seem to be the message that the industry took for the next 20 years.”

He told the interviewer that he wished he had never entered the comic industry in the first place.
Moore is currently working on fantasy books but is also critical of how he perceives those as formulaic, just like comics. 
“Fantasy these days seems to have been boiled down to a kind of J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin world of warriors and dragons and, for some reason, dwarves. The fantasy books that inspire me are things like Mervyn Peake’s Gormenghast trilogy, which is actually about the real world in some ways, the changing nature of British society,” he said.
“Fantasy has no restrictions whatsoever, so it’s a bit lame to be constantly hitting the same note on the piano,” Moore added. “Let’s have fantastic visions that nobody has ever seen before — and lay off people of restricted height for a change.”

“The Change” follows a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/women" target="_blank" rel="noopener">woman</a> named Isabel Frost who feels stuck in a rut and unhappy with the direction of her life. She has friends, a relationship, and a grandson who loves video games, but she also feels bored with the “stagnant” routine of everyday life. Then, she reaches the age of menopause, which spurs her superhero powers to activate.

The menopausal superhero Isabel Frost bears a striking resemblance to Goldberg.
“The Change” has a scheduled release date of November 28.
This isn’t Goldberg’s first foray into writing, but it will be her first time experimenting with the world of graphic novels. The “Sister Act” star has written multiple titles including children’s books such as “Sugar Plum Ballerinas” and “Whoopi’s Big Book of Manners.”
The “View” host has openly <a href="https://people.com/health/celebrities-talking-about-menopause/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discussed</a> her experience with menopause before, joking during a standup about the lack of treatments to help with hot flashes. 
Goldberg has been sharing controversial opinions for years on “The View,” including her recent comments about how children having transgender surgeries is supported by the Bible.

A comic book centered on a vigilante tracking down fentanyl dealers at the southern border went looking for public funds to support it, only to get banned on Twitter, then reportedly get shadow-banned on Indiegogo. Then the comic book was banned by Kickstarter after <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/private-american-censored-elon-musk-twitter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">leftists complained</a> the book featured “racist propaganda.”
The Left-wing Daily Kos described “The Private American,” whose protagonist is a Cuban-American and ex-Green Beret who suffered tragedy at the hands of drug cartels before seeking them out, as “racist propaganda and stochastic terrorism disguised as a funny book.”
“It’s a classic vigilante story in the American mode,” Mike Baron, the book’s author, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EC8b5TkPEsc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>. “I used to write ‘Punisher’ for Marvel, and this is the same type of character. In fact, this book came about when I asked myself, ‘What would the punisher be doing today?’ He’d be down on the southern border trying to stop the flow of fentanyl into the country.”
“There’s nothing against the immigrants who are trying to cross over just to get a better life; in fact, he’s there to save them, and that’s when we first meet him. He’s saving a young girl from being raped,” he added.
The <a href="https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-private-american#/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indiegogo page</a> described the comic book thus:

“Private American permanently suspended on Twitter, shadow-banned on Indiegogo &#8230; suspended indefinitely on Kickstarter,” Fox News’ Todd Piro pointed out. “How are you going to make money now?”
“A number of us who produce comics that don’t fit into the rigid left-wing mode, we are exploring new crowd-funding possibilities,” Baron stated.
“Just how woke has the comic book industry become?” Piro asked.
“It’s pretty woke, as you know, and the sales are falling,” Baron replied. “There’s some question whether Marvel and DC will continue to publish comics in the future because sales are so low. Meanwhile, there’s a whole bunch of us; we call ourselves ComicsGate, that produce comics outside the normal realm, and we crowd-fund our comics, and they’re highly entertaining, and many of the comics are far more entertaining than better illustrated than those that are being produced by the big two.”
