The two gay dads who went viral for mocking their adopted baby crying for “mama” are getting trashed again, only this time it’s for quizzing their other adopted children on which of their dads is “hornier.”
The video of country singer Shane McAnally describing his adopted child as “homophobic” inspired social media users to start digging into old posts on his public social media accounts. Despite the massive amount of backlash, McAnally has not removed the video or gone private, opting instead to defend himself and express shock that so many people are upset.
In the latest video making the rounds, the person filming asks McAnally’s two other children a series of questions about him and his husband, instructing the children to select which father is “the best dancer” and “on their phone the most.” Among a series of innocent questions, one of the items that comes up is: “Who’s hornier?”
Thankfully, the children pause in confusion, with one saying, “What’s that?” as the men <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CAbkKJkHmqh/">burst out laughing</a>.
Still, the clip has viewers reacting angrily to minors being exposed to sexual content.
“If that isn’t a red flag, I don’t know what is!!! WTF?!” one reaction <a href="https://x.com/MediumDebyOuld/status/2046518073994137971">said</a>. “Since when would children that age even know what horny means? And how would they then know which parent is the most horny? I think they need their hard drives investigating pronto!”
“Who talks to children like this? Disgusting,” another commenter <a href="https://x.com/ceemorecutz/status/2046550391207100781">agreed</a>.
Other commenters shared links to recent court cases involving gay parents being prosecuted for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gay-couple-arrested-for-allegedly-sexually-abusing-creating-child-porn-with-adopted-sons">sexually abusing their adopted children</a>, including the case of two Georgia men who recorded themselves molesting brothers they had adopted and the U.K.-based gay couple who <a href="https://www.cps.gov.uk/north-west/news/cps-authorises-charges-against-two-men-following-death-13-month-old-boy-blackpool">raped and murdered</a> the 13-month-old they were in the process of adopting.
McAnally and his husband are still being criticized for mocking their newly adopted baby, calling out for “mama.”
“Hey, hey. Who do you want? Dada or Papa?” McAnally’s baby is asked in the video before he appears to reply “mama” as the men laugh.
“No, Mama. Do you want Dada or Pop?” the baby is asked again. “Who do you want? Dada or Pop?”
The baby again appears to ask for his mother before the man says, “There is no mama. I’m so sorry.” After the baby starts crying, the two men laugh at the reaction as they tell him he has “two choices,” but no mother. The video was captioned “who’s gonna tell him?” with the hashtags “comedy” and “standup,” as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/outrage-as-two-gay-men-mock-homophobic-baby-crying-out-for-his-mother">reported</a>.
The musician complained that the whole thing had been taken “out of context,” saying that he was “appalled” by some of the reactions he&#8217;s gotten.

Country singer Shane McAnally responded on Friday to a wave of backlash directed at him over a video he&#8217;d posted to Instagram. In the video, his five-month-old called out for &#8220;mama&#8221; — and he laughed as he informed the baby that he had two dads and no mama.
&#8220;We found it hilarious,&#8221; McAnally <a href="https://x.com/CollinRugg/status/2044911121916997764">said of the video</a>. &#8220;He&#8217;s five months old, he obviously doesn&#8217;t understand English.&#8221;
&#8220;Babies usually say dada first, but people wouldn&#8217;t then say the babies are only wanting their dads? It doesn&#8217;t really make sense,&#8221; he added.
The musician also complained that the whole thing had been taken &#8220;out of context,&#8221; saying that he was &#8220;appalled&#8221; by some of the comments he&#8217;d seen.
McAnally did not explain what &#8220;context&#8221; he believed critics were missing, but a number of them pointed out the fact that it was not the first time McAnally had set the baby up as a social media punchline: a video posted in December of 2025 showed the same baby, all smiles as dad (off-camera) talked about his siblings and pets — and then suddenly appeared concerned at the mention of &#8220;two dads.&#8221; The video, still pinned to McAnally&#8217;s Instagram page, is titled &#8220;6 week old homophobic baby.&#8221;
The country singer has been dabbling in stand-up comedy recently, but the &#8220;homophobic baby&#8221; got more backlash than laughs.
&#8220;He may say — oh it&#8217;s just a joke. But mothers don&#8217;t joke about their children this way. Frankly, no father I know does either. It&#8217;s like making a joke about your kid dying and it shows a tragic absence of familial connection. This baby is a fetish for them. God help this child,&#8221; Kira Davis <a href="https://x.com/Kiradavis/status/2045157915800285306">posted</a>.
&#8220;This is not the first time Tony winning musician Shane McAnally has made a joke out of his son&#8217;s instinctive desire for his mother, rather than two fathers. Children deserve better than this,&#8221; Concerned Women for America added.

Gay Dads React To Backlash From Their ‘Homophobic Baby’ Video

A video featuring “Saturday Night Live” cast member Chloe Fineman jokingly discussing how she was fired as a camp counselor after exposing a young boy&#8217;s genitals appears to have been edited on YouTube following backlash online.
The video in question was posted by Vanity Fair last week. The segment, titled “SNL Cast Test How Well They Know Each Other,” includes cast members quizzing each other about incidents from their past, and opens with Fineman revealing an anecdote from her camp counselor days when she was 16.

&#8220;I was fired as a camp counselor,&#8221; Fineman said, prompting her castmates to guess the reason, including the suggestion that she “hit on the campers.”
&#8220;I pantsed a boy,&#8221; Fineman said.
“Oh honey. I think you’re on a list somewhere,” Ashley Padilla said in reply in the <a href="https://x.com/TheOnlyDSC/status/2041225730298720468">original version</a>.
Both the original and edited versions include Fineman discussing her reason for pantsing the young child, namely that he allegedly lifted up her shirt after asking for a hug. 
“He was like, 6,” the “SNL” cast member said in the original. The boy’s age did not make it into the edited version.
“No, it was a different time,” she insisted when the other castmates gasped, adding that he was a “d*ck” for lifting her shirt. 
“And then I was like, I’m gonna get back at you,” she explained. “And so we were on a hike, and I was like, ‘Hey Ollie, look over there it’s a hawk,’ and he looked and then I yanked his pants down…&#8221;
“And he wasn’t wearing underpants,” Fineman continued in the original version. The current YouTube video has this part cut out, though it’s still available in clips floating around on social media. 
“He wasn’t wearing underwear. His little dingaling was out. And then these two twins were like, ‘Ollie, I didn’t know you didn’t wear underwear!’”
Both versions end with Fineman concluding, “&#8230;and then I was fired.”
Conde Nast (which owns Vanity Fair) did not immediately return The Daily Wire&#8217;s request for comment.
Social media commenters couldn’t figure out why Fineman would willingly share this type of story. 
“However talented she may be as a comedian (and I have my doubts), I am trying to figure out how someone in Hollywood today could be so tone-deaf, self-absorbed, mean girl, and narcissistic that they would share this story and think everyone would find it cute. It is mind boggling,” one person <a href="https://x.com/hllywoodlandCA/status/2041501203473834293">observed</a>.
“Vanity Fair really tried to sweep chaos under the rug, [editing] out Chloe Fineman’s camp counselor story only made it trend harder, turning what should’ve been a quirky SNL cast segment into a full‑blown PR nightmare where the deleted clip is now the headline,” another <a href="https://x.com/Blizzflix/status/2041317599313871230">agreed</a>.

CBS will reportedly replace &#8220;The Late Show with Stephen Colbert&#8221; with a new late-night program block led by comedian Byron Allen.
Beginning May 22, the network will air “Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen” at 11:35 p.m., followed by the comedy game show “Funny You Should Ask” at 12:35 a.m., according to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/cbs-late-show-replacement-byron-allen-comics-unleashed-1236556475/">The Hollywood Reporter</a>. The lineup debuts the day after Colbert&#8217;s show airs its final episode on May 21.
Both programs are produced by Allen, who has emphasized a focus on apolitical, family-friendly comedy.
&#8220;I tell the comedians we&#8217;re shooting &#8216;I Love Lucy,'&#8221; Allen <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2025-08-11/byron-allen-comics-unleashed-cbs-late-night">told</a> The Los Angeles Times in 2025 while petitioning to become Colbert’s replacement. &#8220;Something that&#8217;s evergreen. So I don&#8217;t want to hear any political humor. Just be funny, family-friendly, and advertiser-friendly.&#8221;
&#8220;Comics Unleashed&#8221; originally ran in syndication from 2006 to 2016 and later had a brief run on CBS from mid-September 2023 to mid-January 2024, filling the former slot of &#8220;The Late Late Show with James Corden.&#8221; The format features a rotating panel of comedians performing stand-up and engaging in talk show-style banter. 
“I created and launched Comics Unleashed 20 years ago so my fellow comedians could have a platform to do what we all love — make people laugh,” Allen said in a statement, per THR. “I truly appreciate CBS’ confidence in me by picking up our two-hour comedy block of Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask, because the world can never have enough laughter.”
CBS announced last summer that “The Late Show,” which began in 1993, would conclude this year and not be replaced with a traditional late-night format.
“This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount,” the network said at the time.
Colbert followed the announcement with an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/anti-trump-late-night-host-stephen-colbert-reveals-date-of-final-show?author=Amanda+Harding&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Anti-Trump+Late-Night+Host+Stephen+Colbert+Reveals+Date+Of+Final+Show">expletive-laced monologue</a> in which he blasted President Donald Trump and CBS. During the segment, Colbert referenced Paramount Global, CBS’s parent company, noting that it paid Trump a $16 million settlement after being accused of election interference.
CBS Entertainment CEO George Cheeks later reiterated that the show had been losing “significant” amounts of money, describing the losses as being in the “tens of millions of dollars.”
“At the end of the day, it just wasn’t sustainable to continue,” Cheeks acknowledged.

Comedian Chelsea Handler is once again proving that she doesn’t understand human development after she released another sad video praising her child-free lifestyle. 
The 51-year-old star bragged about not having to go to places like Build-a-Bear because she doesn’t have children, but commenters rightly pointed out that at her age, it’s more likely that any children Handler had would be well past that stage of life.
“I just woke up and it’s one o’clock in the afternoon,” Handler says in the video she shared to Instagram. 
The “Chelsea Lately” host is seen wearing pajamas and a sleep mask. “I get to sleep to however late I feel like it because I don’t have any f***ing children,” she went on. “And because I don’t have kids, that means I don’t have to go anywhere today. I don’t have to go to Disneyland, Legoland, Color Me Mine, Build-a-Bear, Yogurtland, the zoo. I don’t have to go to any of those places, not once, not ever.”
“Kids… they’re not that great,” Handler concluded.

The skit received mixed reactions, especially from followers who don’t understand why Handler is so focused on children&#8217;s formative years. 
“Ma&#8217;am, your kids would be off at college ignoring your phone calls,” one reply <a href="https://x.com/madelineefry/status/2033316372151681500">said</a>.
“Now that my kid is a teenager and prefers the company of his peers, I look back on the days when I ‘had to’ go to those places as some of the most meaningful and sweetest times of my life. You will never know the greatest and purest love until you’ve loved your child,” another reply <a href="https://x.com/Kanchitakarola/status/2033254412635033603">said</a>. 
“People who are untroubled about a life choice don&#8217;t have to post about how untroubled they are about it. They just move on,” a third commenter <a href="https://x.com/QuestionPDX/status/2033392956552736814">pointed out</a>. “She&#8217;s spinning her wheels and making a rut for herself.”
This isn’t the first time Handler has tried to glorify her child-free life. The celeb made headlines in 2023 with her viral “Day In The Life Of A Childless Woman” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/extremely-sad-chelsea-handlers-day-in-the-life-of-a-childless-woman-spoof-goes-viral">spoof video</a>.
“I wake up at 6 AM. I remember that I have no kids to take to school, so I take an edible, masturbate, and go back to sleep,” the video begins.
Each segment of the video got more outlandish, with the comedian saying she gets up at 12:30 PM to “get ready for a busy day of doing whatever the f*** I feel like.” 
“I put on my most impractical and stylish shoes since I won’t be chasing a child around the grocery store,” Handler continued, adding how she enjoys a peaceful time during air travel because she has “no screaming kids.”
Handler’s pretend day ends with her texting a random man, “Wanna f*ck tonight?” 
Reactions at the time were the same, with commenters pointing out that the bit was sad and predictable, plus didn’t reflect the reality of women in their late 40s with older children anyway.

Tragedy struck the world of comedy again this week.
Katherine Short, the 41-year-old daughter of legendary funnyman Martin Short, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/martin-shorts-daughter-katherine-dies-at-42?author=Amanda+Harding&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=6&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Martin+Short%E2%80%99s+Daughter+Katherine+Dies+At+42">passed away</a> on Feb. 23. Her passing came only weeks after comedienne Catherine O’Hara’s death at 71.
Short and O’Hara have been making us laugh for decades without so much as an interruption. O’Hara’s turn as Moira Rose on “Schitt’s Creek” capped a career that included memorable turns in “Home Alone,” “Beetlejuice” and other comedy classics.
Short’s comedy resume is among the longest and the best in the business.
And both got their start on &#8220;Second City Television&#8221; or “SCTV,” a show that has been perpetually overshadowed by a glossier American sketch comedy series. Yet, decades later, “SCTV’s” legacy is only getting bigger while “Saturday Night Live’s” continues to contract.

Short and O’Hara cut their comedy teeth as members of “SCTV,” a sketch comedy troupe that delivered laughs from north of the border. The show aired stateside starting in the late 1970s, but it never quite gained the cultural traction “SNL” enjoyed.
The latter gave us superstars like Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, and Will Ferrell but those comedy titans came from endless cast iterations. For every standout like Dana Carvey or Bill Hader there were dozens whose “SNL” time turned into brief highlight reels.
That wasn’t the case with “SCTV,” which ran from 1976 to 1984. The show’s small, fairly consistent cast featured talent after talent, and their post-show work shined as brightly as the best “SNL” alums.
Maybe even brighter.

The show’s cast came from Toronto’s edition of Second City, an improv group made famous for sparking NBC’s “SNL” series in 1975 (along with National Lampoon’s media empire). The Canadian series was built around a fictional TV studio, allowing for recurring comic characters and wacky sketches.
It’s where Short perfected his Ed Grimley character – later seen on “SNL.” (Short graced both sketch comedy institutions, but “SNL” for only a single season (1984-85). Co-star Eugene Levy’s Bobby Bittman character exuded oily ‘70s smarm, while Joe Flaherty’s Count Floyd sent up horror movie hosts to perfection.
Those characters endure, but so do the performers’ post-show resumes.
Last year’s “I Like Me” documentary captured the short, remarkable life of “SCTV” alum John Candy. The husky comic died at 43, but not before leaving us with one indelible turn after another. He swiped scenes in “Home Alone,” “Vacation” and “Splash” while anchoring raucous comedies, including “Uncle Buck,” “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” and “Summer Rental.”

Lovable with a pinch of sadness beneath his grin, Candy’s persona enhanced a crush of comedies before his 1994 death. “I Like Me” nailed both his comic gifts and ability to connect with audiences in ways many comedians never could.
O’Hara’s comedy career ended with her most recent role in Apple TV+’s “The Studio,” the latest example of her versatility. And she didn’t need a script to make us howl. Recall her improv chops in four Christopher Guest “mockumentaries” – “For Your Consideration,” “Waiting for Guffman,” “Best in Show” and “A Mighty Wind.”
Short’s film career wavered after a series of under-achieving comedies like “Three Amigos,” “Innerspace” and “Clifford,” but he never stopped working. Most recently, he’s anchored Hulu’s comedy series “Only Murders in the Building” alongside Steve Martin and Selena Gomez.

One “SCTV” alum’s career stalled, but only due to a deeply personal choice. Rick Moranis, so memorably in films like “Spaceballs,” “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and “Ghostbusters,” stepped away from Hollywood following the death of his wife in 1991.
He tried to be both a working actor and single parent, but he realized he couldn’t do both without sacrificing key parts of the latter. So he left the business on his terms. Decades later, his return as Dark Helmut in the “Spaceballs” sequel, due in 2027, is one of the film’s biggest selling points.
Moranis’ on-screen hoser/partner, Dave Thomas, never matched Moranis’ early fame. He still worked steadily over the years, bouncing from sitcom roles to writing gigs on shows like Fox’s “Bones.”

And the pair reunited for 1983’s “Strange Brew,” bringing their Bob and Doug characters to the big screen alongside Max Von Sydow. The film wasn’t a smash, but it swiftly became a cult classic. And deservedly so.
Some “SCTV” alums shined even brighter behind the camera. Yes, Harold Ramis was one of the four core “Ghostbusters,” but he’s better known for directing “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” “Caddyshack” and “Groundhog Day.”
That, plus a series of strong supporting roles (“Knocked Up,” “As Good As It Gets”) complemented his impressive post-“SCTV” life until his death in 2014.
“SCTV’s” Andrea Martin has enjoyed a blue-collar career following the show’s end, netting endless work, including a silly supporting role in the “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” franchise. She also found voice actor gigs and joined former “SCTV” chum Short on “Only Murders in the Building” since 2022.

And while we lost O’Hara this year, her “Schitt’s Creek” husband, the amiable Levy, keeps making us smile. Levy’s exhaustive film and TV career includes key turns in the aforementioned mockumentaries and the “American Pie” franchise.
“SCTV” signed off for good in 1984, while “SNL” recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. That said, the latter keeps burning down its legacy with biased political gags and bland bits. The NBC show may still crank out a future star or two, but “SCTV’s” killer ratio of repertory players who made it big remains unmatched.

It&#8217;s insane,&#8221; Glaser said during her opening monologue. &#8220;There are so many A-listers, and by A-list, I do mean a list that has been heavily redacted. And the Golden Globe for Best Editing goes to the Justice Department. Yes. Congratulations.&#8221;
The host was seemingly referencing the redacted 30,000 documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein released by the Justice Department just days before Christmas.
&#8220;And the award for most editing goes to CBS News,&#8221; the comedian added as the audience laughed and applauded. &#8220;Yes, CBS News, America&#8217;s newest place to see BS news. We needed another.&#8221;
This dig likely referenced CBS News, under the new leadership of Bari Weiss, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cbs-news-pulls-60-minutes-segment-on-notorious-el-salvador-prison-needed-additional-reporting">yanking a “60 Minutes” segment</a> on the Salvadoran prison where the Trump administration has sent hundreds of illegal immigrants. Critics <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/media/5659963-bari-weiss-cbs-60-minutes-segment/">said</a> the move &#8220;reeks of political pressure.&#8221;

Glaser’s comments come one week after anchor Tony Dokoupil began hosting &#8220;CBS Evening News&#8221; and months after the network welcomed Weiss, the new Editor-in-Chief, who formerly worked at The New York Times and founded The Free Press. Weiss was offered the job by David Ellison, the founder of Skydance and Paramount&#8217;s chairman, following a merger.
Dokoupil delivered a New Year’s Day message promising changes in coverage at the legacy media network, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cbs-news-anchor-announces-new-direction-for-2026-actual-journalism?author=Virginia+Kruta&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=CBS+News+Anchor+Announces+New+Direction+For+2026%3A+Actual+Journalism">reported</a>.
“On too many stories, the press has missed the story. Because we’ve taken into account the perspective of advocates and not the average American. Or we put too much weight in the analysis of academics or elites, and not enough on you,” the anchor said in part. “And I know this because, at certain points, I have been you. I have felt this way, too. I have felt like what I was seeing and hearing on the news didn’t reflect what I was seeing and hearing in my own life — and that the most urgent questions simply weren’t being asked.”
“So here’s my promise to you,” Dokoupil continued. “You come first. Not advertisers, not politicians, not corporate interests. And yes, that does include the corporate owners of CBS. I report for you — which means I tell you what I know, when I know it, and how I know it. And when I get it wrong, I’ll tell you that, too.”

Former late night host Conan O’Brien shared words of warning for comedians who do nothing but bash President Trump, saying they are “just screaming” and need to try harder to come up with “funny” material.
“I think some comics go the route of, I’m going to just say ‘F Trump’ all the time and that’s their comedy. And I think, well now … you’re being co-opted because you’re so angry,” O’Brien said during an interview with the Oxford Union on Tuesday.
He added, “You’ve been lulled. It’s like a siren leading you into the rocks. You’ve been lulled into just saying ‘F Trump. F Trump. F Trump. Screw this guy.’ And I think you’ve now put down your best weapon, which is being funny, and you’ve exchanged it for anger.”
“And that person or any person like that would say, ‘Well, things are too serious now. I don’t need to be funny.’ And I think, well, if you’re a comedian, you always need to be funny,” O’Brien went on. “You just have to find a way. And you just have to find a way to channel that anger into a way … because good art will always be a great weapon, will always be a perfect weapon against power. But if you’re just screaming and you’re just angry, you’ve lost your best tool in the toolbox.”

The late night alum said it’s “tricky” for comedians to tackle politics.
“I have very strong political feelings and views, but my comedy is something that I don’t have that kind of control over, in a way,” O’Brien said. “There’s so much of what I’ve done in my life that’s impulse.”
Last August, following the announcement that “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert was being canceled, O’Brien predicted that late night television in its current form would soon “disappear.”
“It’s all electrifying a new generation of viewers,” the longtime host continued. “Yes, late-night television, as we have known it since around 1950, is going to disappear. But those voices are not going anywhere. Comedian Nikki Glaser, who is hosting the Golden Globes again this year, said the audience would be too clueless to understand jokes about the situation in Venezuela.
The stand-up performer has given several interviews about how she plans to approach her monologue after receiving generally positive reviews last year. Glaser said she’s been trying out jokes in local bars and has noticed that bits about current events aren&#8217;t landing.
“You can’t even anticipate things a week away as being relevant enough,” she said during an<a href="https://apnews.com/article/nikki-glaser-golden-globes-host-interview-jokes-c7f0a605e1b06b92447cd213a5fd619e"> interview</a> with the Associated Press. “You’d be surprised that half the room had no clue why I was saying ‘Venezuela.’ People aren’t getting the news like we all are.”
The comedian also said she plans to avoid roasting a particular celebrity due to poor reception.
&#8220;I&#8217;m trying out my monologue around L.A. at the clubs here and just even any joke about Julia Roberts, they are not there for,&#8221; she told Gayle King during an<a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/comedian-nikki-glaser-host-golden-globes/"> interview</a> on CBS. &#8220;You cannot make fun of America&#8217;s sweetheart. Whatever I end up saying about her, that is the most fine-tuned joke that I&#8217;ve worked on so hard, because it is very delicate.&#8221;
&#8220;I mean, they were booing, and I was like, ‘Is she here?’&#8221; Glaser said. &#8220;It&#8217;s insane.&#8221;
Roberts is up for Best Actress in a Drama for her leading role in “After the Hunt.”
“I’ve been running the jokes constantly,” she told the AP. “I live and die by those crowds. They really tell me what to keep and what not to. Things that I think will kill will just be nothing and things that I think are just a throwaway are like the best joke.”
Glaser revealed one joke she ditched.
“I was going to make a joke about ‘Pluribus’ where I said like, ‘Have you seen it? Pluribly not.’ But we could not find a place for ‘pluribly not’ and so that one is in the graveyard. Probably rightfully so.”
As for her overall strategy for hosting the Golden Globes, Glaser said she wants it to be entertaining and edgy without offending anyone. 
&#8220;You have to be very delicate about making jokes that aren&#8217;t going to ruin anyone&#8217;s night, but you also want to give the people at home something to laugh at, and you want to poke fun at the people that they&#8217;re dying for you to make fun of,&#8221; she told King. &#8220;Like people at home want you to make fun of the A-listers.&#8221;
&#8220;They want you to make them feel a little bit uncomfortable,&#8221; Glaser said. &#8220;So, it&#8217;s covert in the sense that I want to get away with those jokes without just ruining the vibe in the room. So, it&#8217;s really strategic, and it&#8217;s one of the most difficult jobs I&#8217;ve ever had is picking the perfect jokes.&#8221;
The 2026 Golden Globes will air live on Sunday, January 11, from 8-11 p.m. ET / 5-8 p.m. PT on CBS. The broadcast will also be available to stream on Paramount+.

Comedian Leslie Jones demanded a &#8220;reckoning&#8221; and called for all Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to be thrown in jail during a podcast appearance with MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace.
Jones was a guest on Wallace&#8217;s podcast, called &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF0l2ER-wz4&amp;list=PLDIVi-vBsOEwuoEi_YVSlPt_yGf1xsoa6&amp;index=1">The Best People</a>,&#8221; and she spent most of the time trashing President Donald Trump and laying the blame at the feet of the people who voted for him.
&#8220;We are the people. I am so tired of everybody not realizing that,&#8221; she began, comparing Trump to a used car salesman, a snake-oil salesman, and &#8220;the emperor with no clothes&#8221; at different points throughout the conversation. &#8220;We are the people. The only reason this man is popular is because of us. Because of us.&#8221;
She claimed that Trump&#8217;s voters were only still supporting him because they &#8220;don&#8217;t want to admit that they made a mistake.&#8221;

Jones, a &#8220;Saturday Night Live&#8221; alum, recalled Trump being on the show and said that he&#8217;d behaved like an &#8220;insecure narcissist,&#8221; claiming that he was &#8220;scared&#8221; of her because she was &#8220;honest.&#8221;
Then Wallace asked her to describe what the world might look like when the Trump presidency ends in January of 2029: &#8220;How do you think it ends? How do you think the era ends?&#8221;
&#8220;Girl, I&#8217;m hoping, this is what I&#8217;m hoping,&#8221; Jones said, adding, &#8220;That midterms, people come out and vote like crazy to switch it over, and then the reckoning comes.&#8221;
&#8220;That&#8217;s what I want, all — everybody that worked for ICE, I want them in jail. I just want a reckoning,&#8221; she continued, clapping her hands for emphasis. &#8220;I want a reckoning. Y&#8217;all know y&#8217;all did wrong stuff. You know some of the stuff you did was so wrong. I need a reckoning, because that&#8217;s — to me — that&#8217;s the only thing that&#8217;s gonna make it right.&#8221;

Comedian David Spade is calling out a mall in Michigan for hosting a Christmas tree lighting ceremony that intentionally omitted the word “Christmas.”
Spade described what happened during a recent episode of his podcast, “Fly on the Wall,” which he hosts alongside fellow comedian and “SNL” alum Dana Carvey. 
&#8220;I will say that Christmas is taking a little bit of a beating lately. It is December and I saw the other day there was a tree lighting ceremony for the Christmas tree in some dopey mall… but it said tree lighting ceremony, and they were careful not to say the word Christmas during the whole ceremony,&#8221; Spade said during the episode.
The “Joe Dirt” star did not identify which mall he was referring to, only claiming it was in Michigan.

&#8220;Why?&#8221; Spade went on. &#8220;So it&#8217;s just a tree? And you go, I would understand if you said, &#8216;They&#8217;re doing the tree lighting at [the mall] or whatever. You go, ‘OK.’ But to consciously avoid that, then what is the tree for?&#8221; he continued. &#8220;A December to Remember? Is it a Lexus dealership? Why do we have… for the whole month? Isn&#8217;t it for Christmas?&#8221;
Carvey chimed in to say plenty of non-Christians he knew were not offended by Christmas despite it being a Christian holiday.
“I’d say stop that bullsh*t,” Spade went on. “They like all things about it, [just] don’t say that word.”
Spade said it was ridiculous that establishments were willing to dance around the word without stating it. The podcast hosts also claimed Christmas has been commandeered by the secular crowd anyway.
&#8220;If you&#8217;re of faith, it&#8217;s about Christianity,&#8221; Carvey said. &#8220;But I think at this point in America, it&#8217;s just Christmas. It&#8217;s a fun holiday. I don’t like the thought police. I don’t like to have words I can’t use.”
Spade identified himself as a Christian, but also said he was “more spiritual” when Carvey described him as “lapsed.” The comedian further referenced the current persecution of Christians in African countries such as Nigeria.
&#8220;We&#8217;re taking a beating down in Africa,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s like this is not the year to be Christian. I will tell you that.&#8221;

Comedian and HBO host Bill Maher said on a recent podcast episode that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had the potential to be a great presidential candidate — but only if the self-described Democratic socialist went through some &#8220;deprogramming&#8221; first.
Maher made the comments on his &#8220;Club Random&#8221; podcast while speaking with fellow comedian Patton Oswalt, and the two immediately disagreed over how far was &#8220;too far&#8221; when it came to the direction of the American political Left.

&#8220;Remember when [Republicans] found the &#8216;damning&#8217; video of AOC dancing and drinking with her friends on the roof in college, and she looks so happy and beautiful and cool,” Oswalt asked. “Oh, they think it&#8217;s ending her career because they never did this. They were never that comfortable to do this.&#8221;
Maher&#8217;s reply was simple: &#8220;Yeah, and if she had some deprogramming, she could be such a fantastic candidate.&#8221;
&#8220;What do you mean deprogramming?” Oswalt seemed taken aback.
&#8220;She’s never going to resonate with people outside of the bubble that she lives in and the very far Left,&#8221; Maher explained. He went on to cite a recent New York Times editorial, adding, &#8220;The only way the Democrats will ever win again …  is to be more moderate.&#8221;
Oswalt disagreed: &#8220;If people think she’s too far Left, then that shows another way this country is broken right now.&#8221;
Maher pushed back, saying that the country wasn&#8217;t &#8220;broken&#8221; — it just wasn&#8217;t as far Left as AOC.
Oswalt argued that if average Americans were not in line with AOC, that was because the country as a whole was not as &#8220;intelligent&#8221; as most people believed, and argued that the Left had followed science rather than blindly adhering to policies.
Maher was not buying that, however, and said so: &#8220;No, they didn’t! … they think gender bull***t that they went way too far with. That’s not scientific.&#8221;
