An elementary school in the sanctuary state of Colorado employed an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-illegal-immigrant-truck-drivers-ended-up-on-americas-roads?topStoryPosition=undefined&amp;author=Jennie+Taer&amp;category=Original&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=1&amp;rowHeadline=Top+Stories&amp;rowType=Top+Stories&amp;title=How+Illegal+Immigrant+Truck+Drivers+Ended+Up+On+America%E2%80%99s+Roads">illegal immigrant</a> to teach fifth grade before she was ultimately arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Marina Ortiz-Abollaneda left Peru and crossed the border illegally in 2022. She was ultimately released into the country as the Biden administration waved in thousands of migrants each month, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire.
She began teaching at the Global Village Academy in the Denver suburb of Parker, Colorado, after she received a work permit, according to a letter Principal Stacy Bush recently sent to parents.
ICE nabbed Ortiz-Abollaneda alongside her family members on Friday while she was reporting for a routine check-in with ICE as part of her ongoing immigration case.
“The previous administration’s open border policies allowed Ortiz-Abollaneda and millions of other illegal aliens — including violent criminals — to be released into this country,” Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire.
“We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure with the CBP Home App. The United States is offering illegal aliens $1,000 and a free flight to self-deport now. We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right legal way to live the American dream. If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return,” said McLaughlin.
The school is now working to get Ortiz-Abollaneda back to teaching, Bush wrote in her letter to parents.
“We are currently working closely with our legal team and outside immigration attorneys to understand if and how we might be able to help facilitate their return to Colorado,” Bush wrote.
Susan Meek, a board of education director for the Douglas County School District, said she was “deeply shocked and profoundly saddened” by Ortiz-Abollaneda’s arrest, <a href="https://www.denver7.com/news/investigations/parker-5th-grade-teacher-family-detained-by-ice-in-colorado-denver7-investigates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to ABC7.
“When someone who contributes to our shared mission of educating children is suddenly taken away, it sends a chilling message to the many families in our district who live each day with fear, uncertainty, and vulnerability,” Meek wrote in a statement.
The Trump administration’s mass deportation campaign has exposed cases of illegal immigrants who have been educating America’s youth.
In one recent case, ICE <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-immigrant-who-was-des-moines-school-superintendent-had-lengthy-rap-sheet">arrested</a> Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent Ian Andre Roberts of Guyana, who was in the United States illegally and had a lengthy rap sheet, The Daily Wire previously reported.

A Tren de Aragua gang member who was seen in a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/video-shows-armed-men-walking-through-co-apt-building-after-official-warned-of-venezuelan-gang-takeover">viral video</a> last year, armed and forcing his way into an Aurora, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-immigrant-wanted-in-brutal-colorado-kidnapping-caught-hiding-in-chicago">Colorado</a>, apartment complex taken over by the gang, was handed a 12-year prison sentence.
Niefred Serpa-Acosta was involved in the armed break-in at the Edge at Lowry apartments on Aug. 18, 2024, as well as a brutal kidnapping of a couple at the complex the following December. An Arapahoe County judge sentenced Serpa-Acosta last month after he entered a guilty plea, <a href="https://www.9news.com/article/news/crime/man-pleads-guilty-viral-aurora-apartment-video/73-33799e28-2622-4b76-8d03-24128e678741" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to 9 News.
Minutes after the armed gang members stormed the apartments, a fatal shooting took place, <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/aurora-crime-involving-venezuelans-police-arrest-warrants-men-shooting-12th-dallas-street/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to CBS Denver</a>.
The Venezuelan gang member, however, successfully fled the scene.
Police in Aurora later captured Serpa-Acosta, who was dressed as a woman and wearing a wig, for his role in the couple&#8217;s kidnapping which the woman was pistol-whipped and the husband was stabbed in the thigh.
He later pleaded guilty to a burglary with intent to menace and assault the people inside the apartment and to using a weapon during the attack, according to 9 News.

When Serpa-Acosta took part in the apartment takeover with five others, he was already ordered deported by an immigration judge, Homeland Security sources told The Daily Wire. The Biden administration released him from ICE custody a month before and after he had already racked up two arrests for theft.
It is likely that Serpa-Acosta couldn&#8217;t be deported because the Biden administration was unable to force Venezuela to accept removal flights. Shortly after entering office, the Trump administration brokered a deal with the Maduro regime to resume the flights.
Serpa-Acosta also admitted his gang ties to the feds and had the organization&#8217;s signature tattoos, the sources said.
The illegal immigrant crossed the border into El Paso, Texas, in December 2022 and was set to be turned back to Mexico, but he was eventually released into the U.S.
He was arrested in June 2023 in Lakewood, Colorado, for theft before he was again released. He then turned up in Fort Collins, where he was arrested in April 2024 for another theft.
He was eventually let go again and arrested for a third time for resisting an officer, obstructing police, and larceny in another Denver suburb; ICE then took him into custody.
All the while, officials in Colorado, including Democratic Gov. Jared <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/29/us-news/colorado-gov-jared-polis-dismisses-migrant-gang-takeover-of-aurora-apartments-as-imagination/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Polis</a>, denied the gang&#8217;s takeover of apartment complexes in Aurora.
While on the campaign trail, President Donald <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/10/11/trump-operation-aurora-targeting-undocumented-criminals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trump</a> pledged to carry out &#8220;Operation Aurora&#8221; to target the gang&#8217;s foothold in the Denver suburb. Immigration raids soon took place in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ice-targets-over-100-venezuelan-gang-members-in-raid-at-aurora-colorado-apartment-complex">Colorado</a>, resulting in the arrests of dozens of gang members.

The sanctuary city of Chicago apparently provided a hiding place for an illegal immigrant who ran from the law in Colorado after a brutal kidnapping.

The apartments, The Edge at Lowry, were also the site of a viral <a href="https://kdvr.com/news/local/video-shows-group-of-men-carrying-guns-at-troubled-aurora-apartment-complex/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video</a> where armed Tren de Aragua gang members were seen trying to force their way into units.
Days after the kidnapping, Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain <a href="https://www.auroragov.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=16242704&amp;pageId=20618509&amp;fbclid=IwY2xjawNaN3xleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETF2T2EzejNITmZncGRKbWdUAR7-IRvzYtbxo21H52DTJxW1CtAnHDxHGtdDx8YLCjFFbvYmm8HV0uwpUYZv0Q_aem_wEtaCnRBIeqgFv-hGKajlw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the attack was “100% gang activity.”
But police at the time were still looking for some of the suspects, including Cuba-Zabala.
The Chicago Police Department arrested Cuba-Zabala on April 28 after he was allegedly caught shoplifting two pairs of sunglasses valued at over $800, according to the Aurora Police Department. Officials then extradited him to Colorado earlier this month to face justice in the kidnapping case.

Roughly a dozen armed suspects took part in forcing the couple into a vacant apartment, where the couple was bound, threatened, and assaulted. Some of the attackers also robbed the apartment, police said.
Cuba-Zabala was the last of the alleged attackers to get nabbed.
He was let into the country under the Biden administration after he crossed the border in June 2023, before he went on to Colorado, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire.
And DHS blamed Chicago’s sanctuary laws for protecting the alleged criminal migrant in the Colorado case.
“It’s no surprise this career criminal chose to flee to sanctuary Chicago, where he knows JB Pritzker will protect him from deportation. Law enforcement extradited him to Aurora, Colorado, to face justice for his heinous crimes,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire.

While the deployment remains on pause due to an ongoing lawsuit, ICE and Border Patrol agents are working to arrest illegal immigrants and anti-ICE agitators who are breaking the law.
In one recent raid in the Windy City, hundreds of federal agents descended into an apartment complex that was said to be overrun with Tren de Aragua members, <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/10/06/dhs-debunks-governor-pritzkers-harmful-lies-about-operation-midway-blitz-chicago" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to DHS.
Cuba-Zabala faces four counts of second-degree kidnapping, four charges of aggravated robbery, two charges of menacing with a deadly weapon, and two charges of extortion in Colorado.
In an effort to arrest and remove Cuba-Zabala as soon as possible, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a detainer with local authorities to ensure he’s not released from custody. Authorities in Colorado, however, are hamstrung by sanctuary laws that prevent them from working with federal immigration agents.

Topline: President Trump announced on Wednesday that Israel and Hamas have agreed to terms on the first phase of a peace deal that could end the war in Gaza.
Trump was hosting a public event with several independent journalists when he was approached by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. After whispering something in Trump’s ear, Rubio then handed the president a handwritten note, which, based on photographs, appeared to say that a deal was “very close.” It then said, “Need you to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce the deal first.”

As part of the first phase, Hamas plans to release the 20 living hostages this weekend, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/egypt-gaza-talks-kushner-witkoff-israel-hamas-news-10-08-2025-ac80d3ed50ff2a9b4106ab5e13156651" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>. Hamas is responsible for the bodies of 28 dead hostages, though it is unclear whether the terror group can locate and retrieve them. Once the Israeli cabinet approves the agreement, the terror group has 72 hours to return the hostages.
Israel’s military has 24 hours from the time the Israeli cabinet approves the deal to withdraw from the heart of Gaza to a predetermined boundary.
<h2 style="text-align: center;">SCOTUS Hears Colorado &#8220;Conversion Therapy&#8221; Case</h2>

Topline: The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments this week in a case addressing the legality of so-called “conversion therapy.” Historically, the term referred to counseling or treatment aimed at changing a person’s sexual orientation from gay to straight. However, leftist activists now use the label more broadly, applying it to efforts that encourage transgender individuals to accept their biological sex.
The case: The plaintiff, a Christian counselor named Kaley Chiles, is challenging a law in Colorado that’s been dubbed the “Minor Conversion Therapy Law.” It was passed in 2019 by a Democrat-controlled legislature, and it bans counseling that “attempts or purports to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” 
The plaintiff: Chiles’ legal team, Alliance Defending Freedom, says Chiles is currently under investigation by the state of Colorado over this law, and they’ve stressed that minors are being deprived of her services. 
The state of Colorado argues that this is not a free speech issue, but rather a matter of regulating conduct and medical treatment—even if that “medical treatment” is only speech, like talk therapy. The law is then constitutional, according to state attorneys. Colorado says that talk therapy that doesn&#8217;t affirm the gender-confused is harmful to children, which the state bases on “experts” and the so-called medical consensus.
SCOTUS watch: The justices appear to be leaning in favor of the plaintiff, and not just the conservatives. Liberal Justice Elena Kagan seemed to side with Justice Samuel Alito when he said the Colorado law seemed like, quote, “blatant viewpoint discrimination.”
A ruling is expected next summer. And if the tea leaves are being read correctly, an overturning of this Colorado law could influence similar laws in dozens of other states.
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Authorities Arrest Suspected Palisades Fire Arsonist</h2>

Topline: Authorities have arrested 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht, who they say intentionally sparked the fire that destroyed Pacific Palisades, California, back in January.
The suspect: Rinderknecht is an Uber driver who now lives in Melbourne, Florida. Officials from the Justice Department and the Los Angeles Police Department held a joint press conference on Wednesday to announce the arrest. According to officials, Rinderknecht started the Lachman Fire on New Year’s Day. The Lachman Fire eventually became the Palisades Fire after it was rekindled by severe winds a week later.
What happened: According to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, Rinderknecht was in Pacific Palisades late on New Year’s Eve after working throughout the evening. He drove toward Skull Rock trailhead, got out of his car, and walked up a trail to a nearby hilltop, where he recorded videos and listened to a rap song. According to Essayli, the song was accompanied by a music video showing objects being set on fire.
In addition to that, Rinderknecht’s phone had images he created with ChatGPT of people fleeing from burning forests. Another ChatGPT search made around the time he called 911 to report the fire said, “Are you at fault if a fire is lit [sic] because of your cigarettes?”
Firefighters were able to suppress the fire shortly after, but it continued to burn underground until strong winds revived it a week later, starting the Palisades Fire.
The blaze eventually became one of the worst in California history. It killed 12 people and destroyed nearly 7,000 structures, resulting in $150 billion in damage. The rebuilding process has been long and difficult. As of last month, the city of Los Angeles had <a href="https://www.carriermanagement.com/news/2025/09/30/279930.htm">approved</a> just over 600 permits to rebuild out of about 1,500 applications.
The charges: Rinderknecht is only charged with destruction of property by means of fire. But prosecutors may add more charges to the indictment later. They accused him of lying to authorities, with Essayli stating that Rinderknecht provided false information to police about the fire when officers interviewed him on January 24. But Essayli made no mention of a charge on that in the indictment. As is, Rinderknecht faces up to 20 years in prison.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear arguments in a case centered on a counselor in Colorado who could be punished under state law for helping gender-confused children become comfortable with their own body instead of pursuing irreversible transgender medical procedures.
The case pits the State of Colorado against counselor Kaley Chiles, who is challenging a Colorado law that <a href="https://leg.colorado.gov/sites/default/files/2019a_1129_signed.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">prohibits</a> counseling that “attempts or purports to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” Chiles said that the law violates her First Amendment rights and has prevented her from taking several clients.
“When my young clients come to me for counsel, they often want to discuss issues of gender and sexuality. Yet my home state only allows my clients to pursue state-approved goals like gender transition,” she said. “Colorado’s law harms kids and censors speech. I’m hopeful the Supreme Court will do the right thing — for me, other counselors, and most importantly, kids everywhere.”
Chiles is being represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), which argues that Colorado’s law, passed in 2019, is a direct attack on professional speech.
“This case is about censorship. The state of Colorado is censoring counselor speech on the issue of gender ideology,” Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer Kate Anderson said on a press call attended by The Daily Wire. “Colorado is saying that if a counselor is going to speak with a minor, have a private, voluntary counseling session with a minor, and that minor is dealing with any kind of gender ideology, confusion, then that counselor has to encourage transition.”
“They can&#8217;t have conversations with that minor to help them become comfortable in their own body and align their feelings with their biology, even if that&#8217;s what that minor wants,” Anderson added.
She pointed to the 2018 Supreme Court ruling where the court sided with the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, which had challenged a California law that mandated that crisis pregnancy centers provide information on how to obtain abortions.
Anderson said she expected this past ruling to come up during oral arguments, as well as the science demonstrating the lack of scientific support for transgender procedures.
Colorado’s law was previously upheld by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, while the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down similar laws implemented by cities in Florida. The Supreme Court has been skeptical of transgender ideology in recent years and has allowed states to ban transgender procedures on minors.

President Donald Trump is expected to announce a plan to move the United States Space Force Command Headquarters from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Huntsville, Alabama, on Tuesday.
According to several reports, Trump plans to reverse a Biden-era decision to move the Command HQ to Colorado Springs — a move that was itself a reversal of Trump&#8217;s initial plan to locate the branch&#8217;s command headquarters in Huntsville.
Reuters White House Correspondent Nandita Bose shared the news in a post on X, saying, &#8220;The Trump administration is planning to announce as early as Tuesday that it will relocate U.S. Space Command headquarters from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Huntsville, Alabama, according to a U.S. official and a person familiar with the deliberations via @MichaelStone The decision would reverse a move made under President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration, which had selected Colorado Springs as the permanent home for the military&#8217;s newest combatant command in 2023.&#8221;

A number of Republicans argued that Biden&#8217;s decision to move the Space Force Command HQ from Alabama to Colorado was politically motivated — and part of a concerted effort to only build military installations in states that did not have abortion restrictions.
&#8220;My concern is, it looks like it’s payback from the President of the United States – and payback is a very dangerous game,&#8221; Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA) said in 2023 during a hearing about the move with Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall.
Radio host Jeff Hunt suggested that Trump could also be hitting back at Colorado over lawsuits against him and his administration.
&#8220;I&#8217;m not saying Trump is right to move Space Force from Colorado. However, having every statewide official constantly bragging about how many lawsuits they have against the president and a Secretary of State who tried to keep him off the ballot sure didn&#8217;t help the situation,&#8221; he said.

And OANN White House Correspondent Daniel Baldwin noted that cost could also play a role, saying that Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) had said the move could result in nearly half a billion dollars saved.

Cottontail rabbits with tentacles sprouting from their faces have been <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/08/13/science/frankenstein-bunnies-with-head-spikes-invade-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appearing</a> in Fort Collins, Colorado, according to local residents.
One woman said she saw a rabbit with “black quills or black toothpicks sticking out all around his or her mouth.”
“I thought he would die off during the winter, but he didn’t,” she said. “He came back a second year, and it grew.”
The <a href="https://cpw.state.co.us/species/cottontail-rabbits#:~:text=Rabbit%20Papillomas,be%20treated%20by%20a%20veterinarian." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Colorado Parks and Wildlife Service</a> says the “Frankenstein” rabbits are suffering from cottontail papilloma virus, also called the Shope papilloma virus, a skin virus that produces black, horn-like growths, mainly around the head.
Despite their terrifying appearance, the growths aren’t inherently harmful to the rabbits. However, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Service notes that excessive growth around the eyes and mouth can prevent them from seeing and eating, leading to starvation.

The virus is more likely to spread in the summer, when there is a proliferation of insects capable of transmitting it. It can also spread through direct contact.
The disease is specific to rabbits and does not seem to pose a threat to humans or other animals. Wildlife experts still advise people not to approach infected rabbits.

The Shope papilloma virus is thought to have <a href="https://www.si.edu/stories/worlds-scariest-rabbit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">inspired</a> the “jackalope,” a mythological creature that possesses the body of a jackrabbit and the horns of an antelope.
The Frankenstein rabbits are not the only strange creatures to make headlines recently. Radioactive “hot wasps” have been <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/01/science/radioactive-wasps-nuclear-savannah-river.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discovered</a> near a South Carolina nuclear site. The Department of Energy says the four wasp nests do not pose a threat to humans.

University of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders announced on Monday that he had been diagnosed with bladder cancer — and that he had undergone a successful surgery to remove the tumor.
Sanders gave a <a href="https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/45843439/colorado-coach-deion-sanders-said-battled-bladder-cancer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press conference</a> at the Touchdown Club in the Dal Ward Athletic Center on Monday to update the public on his health, and urged everyone to &#8220;get checked out.&#8221; Sanders appeared alongside Dr. Janet Kukreja, director of urological oncology at University of Colorado Cancer Center, to make the announcement and take questions.
Kukreja began by touting the success of the surgery, saying that Sanders had been declared &#8220;cancer free&#8221; after the surgery was completed. &#8220;The results from the surgery are that he is cured from the cancer.&#8221;
After a brief pause, Sanders quipped, &#8220;You can clap, it&#8217;s ok.&#8221;
The audience laughed and applauded.

He opted not to address any health-related questions at Big 12 Media Days, further fueling speculation about his condition.
Sanders said on Monday that throughout the ordeal, he has also lost 25 pounds — but that he was ready to return to coaching for the 2025-2026 season.
He followed with a message to the crowd, calling on them to &#8220;get checked out.&#8221;

Karen Diamond, one of the victims of the antisemitic firebomb attack in Boulder, Colorado, died last Wednesday, according to a Monday press release. Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the alleged perpetrator of the terror attack, now faces first-degree murder charges.
The attack, which happened on June 1, targeted a pro-Israel group calling for the release of Israeli hostages taken by the terror group Hamas during the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
It was initially reported that eight people were injured, including 82-year-old Diamond, by incendiary devices and what the FBI <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/colorado-hits-egyptian-anti-israel-terror-suspect-with-charges-including-murder?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Colorado+Hits+Egyptian+Anti-Israel+Terror+Suspect+With+Charges+Including+Murder">called</a> a “makeshift flamethrower.” According to a new <a href="https://bouldercounty.gov/news/press-release-pearl-street-amended-and-added-charges/">press release</a>, 13 victims have reported physical injuries resulting from the attack.
Soliman is an Egyptian national residing in the United States illegally since his visa expired in 2023.
Diamond, who is mourned by her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandsons, as well as the Boulder Jewish community, died last Wednesday, June 25, according to a <a href="https://boulderjewishnews.org/2025/baruch-dayan-haemet-karen-diamond-zl/?fbclid=IwY2xjawLPpNhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETFkc2lLQVdDanNxaGtZWm5YAR7xFnBUUvEWq5tggUA9FnE066f48fI4Ew6-F8kIDBJFdQjEVwfEPM2mmA4PKw_aem_dKuP2aWRtkb40_hzEjnt3w">statement</a> released Monday by Rabbi Marc Soloway, a rabbi at Congregation Bonai Shalom in Boulder.
“There are no words to express the pain of this horrific loss of our beloved member and friend,” Soloway said.
Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty said, “This horrific attack has now claimed the life of an innocent person who was beloved by her family and friends. Our hearts are with the Diamond family during this incredibly difficult time.”
Diamond’s family has stated that they wish for privacy at this time as they grieve their loss.
Following Diamond’s passing, Soliman now faces two counts of first-degree murder, 52 counts of attempted first-degree murder, and 46 other related charges. Soliman now faces up to more than 100 years behind bars if found guilty.
Soliman is also being prosecuted federally for alleged hate crimes related to the Boulder attack. David Kraut, Soliman’s attorney, recently <a href="https://apnews.com/article/boulder-colorado-attack-not-guilty-plea-c6aeb3c80c129510f12432812a1c043b">entered</a> a not guilty plea on Soliman’s behalf for those 12 hate crime charges.

Left-wing activists on Friday allegedly tipped off an illegal alien, who&#8217;s a convicted child rapist, helping him escape from landing in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
&#8220;This morning ICE &amp; [FBI Denver] were attempting to arrest Jose Reyes Leon-Deras, a criminal alien from El Salvador who is convicted of and wanted for child rape in Italy,&#8221; ICE&#8217;s Denver field office posted to X. &#8220;During our surveillance of Leon, members of Colorado Rapid Response arrived on scene and alerted him to law enforcement&#8217;s presence which allowed him to escape arrest.&#8221;
Colorado Rapid Response is a far-Left anti-ICE <a href="https://www.coloradorapidresponsenetwork.com">organization</a> that&#8217;s been responding to immigration raids. The group&#8217;s website says the organization is &#8220;committed to responding to raids, deportation, and any Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity happening across the state in our communities.&#8221;
The group has a hotline asking for tips from people who &#8220;witness ICE activity or if you want to document an experience with ICE.&#8221;
Documentation of ICE activity, the Colorado Rapid Response says, &#8220;monitors police/I.C.E. collaboration detects patterns that can guide our legislative efforts, and builds a robust statewide network of people resisting deportations in their communities.&#8221;
ICE Denver condemned the group and others like it, writing, &#8220;Groups like this interfere with ICE’s ability to keep communities safe. If you know his whereabouts, do not approach, if seen, instead report all info to ICE at 1-866-347-2423.&#8221;

More than 100 House Democrats voted on Monday against a resolution condemning the recent fire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terror-in-colorado-pro-israel-demonstrators-attacked-in-firebombing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">attack</a> in Boulder, Colorado, on people demonstrating in support of hostages kidnapped by Hamas in the October 7, 2023, assault on Israel.
The <a href="https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20250609/H%20Res%206.8.25.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">measure</a>, which denounces the &#8220;antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado&#8221; and offers a critique of the U.S. immigration system because the suspect was an illegal immigrant, <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025158" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> with strong bipartisan support from 205 Republicans and 75 Democrats. However, 113 Democrats opposed the resolution, leaving them open to broadsides from Republicans.
&#8220;House Democrats just sided with terrorists over cops and couldn’t even bring themselves to condemn antisemitism. They&#8217;re officially the antisemite and anti-cop caucus,&#8221; Mike Marinella, a spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), said in a statement.

The resolution notes Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who is now facing hate crime and many other <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/06/06/mohamed-soliman-boulder-attack-hate-crime-charges/84065930007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charges</a> in connection to the June 1 firebombing in Boulder, allegedly shouted &#8220;Free Palestine&#8221; and spoke about wanting to kill all the Zionists.
In addition, it mentions Soliman is an Egyptian national who overstayed his visa and his case &#8220;demonstrates the dangers of not removing from the country aliens who fail to comply with the terms of their visas.&#8221; The resolution also expresses gratitude to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — a federal agency <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-biden-comes-out-against-abolishing-ice-ice-is-not-the-problem" target="_blank" rel="noopener">derided</a> by some Democrats.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) chided Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO), who introduced the resolution, during a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/znhJ3NB434E?t=218s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press conference</a> before the vote.
&#8220;Who is this guy? He&#8217;s not seriously concerned with combating antisemitism in America. This is not a serious effort. This guy&#8217;s going to be a one-term member of Congress. He&#8217;s a complete and total embarrassment,&#8221; Jeffries said. The top Democrat also <a href="https://x.com/NRCC/status/1932166132691083613" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> the resolution and Evans a &#8220;joke.&#8221;
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) fired back at Jeffries in a <a href="https://x.com/SteveScalise/status/1932172219494342769" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> on X.
&#8220;Only radical Democrats would call it a joke to denounce antisemitic terrorism and express gratitude to law enforcement for detaining the terrorist here illegally who perpetrated the Boulder attack,&#8221; Scalise said. &#8220;Appreciate [Evans] — a veteran and former law enforcement officer &#8211; for leading on this important resolution.&#8221;
Evans, a first-term congressman who is a former Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot and police officer, also delivered a retort.
&#8220;I served our nation in uniform in the Middle East, as a cop in Colorado, &amp; now as a Congressman,&#8221; Evans <a href="https://x.com/repgabeevans/status/1932192483510759662" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X. &#8220;This wildly offensive sentiment from Democrat’s Leader is why antisemitism persists. The Left is unserious about finding real solutions. Condemning terrorism is not a joking matter.&#8221;
Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO), who represents Boulder, had pushed for the House to go with his own <a href="https://neguse.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/neguse.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/neguse_085_xml_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resolution</a> condemning the attack and criticized the measure from Evans. Among his complaints were that it contained small &#8220;inaccuracies&#8221; and failed to recognize the Boulder Police Department or FBI for their response to the firebombing — only ICE, &#8220;the one agency that was not in Boulder that day.&#8221;
Still, Neguse ended up voting to pass the measure from Evans, which did affirm &#8220;that free and open communication between State and local law enforcement and their Federal counterparts remains the bedrock of public safety and is necessary in preventing terrorist attacks.&#8221;
A Democrat who voted against the resolution, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do7FZ00kQIo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">griped</a> about how arguing the Boulder attack is a &#8220;reflection&#8221; of the U.S. immigration system &#8220;uses Jews as a partisan pawn.&#8221;
