President Donald Trump called Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and offered him a last-minute invite on his trip to China, a source familiar with the matter told the Daily Wire.
Hours after the call, Huang met the president in Alaska and boarded Air Force One. 
A Nvidia spokesperson said, “Jensen is attending the summit at the invitation of President Trump to support America and the administration&#8217;s goals.” Last week, Huang told CNBC host Jim Cramer, “If invited, it would be a privilege, it would be a great honor to represent the United States.”
Huang is one of several CEOs to join the trip. Seventeen top executives were <a href="https://x.com/mmcassella/status/2053868662562390065">reportedly</a> invited, with Cisco’s Chuck Robbins turning down the invite due to a conflict with the company’s quarterly earnings report.
CNBC initially <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/05/12/nvidia-ceo-huang-trump-china-trip-chip-sales.html">reported</a> on Tuesday that Huang was not invited to the trip. A source familiar with the matter confirmed to the Daily Wire that the executive was not invited until later. 
However, President Trump called out the network via <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116565066757116256">Truth Social</a> Tuesday night. “CNBC incorrectly reported that the great Jensen Huang, of Nvidia, was not invited to the incredible gathering of the world’s greatest businessmen/women proudly going to China,” the president wrote. “In actuality, Huang is currently on Air Force One and, unless I ask him to leave, which is highly unlikely, CNBC’s reporting is incorrect or, as they say in politics, fake news.” 
Trump says he will be asking President Xi to “open up China so that these brilliant people [CEOs traveling with Trump] can work their magic.” 
In the past, Huang has lobbied the Trump administration to allow Nvidia to sell chips to China. While Nvidia is not permitted to sell its Blackwell chips, the company’s most advanced chips, Trump loosened export controls to allow for sales of Nvidia’s H200s. 
Critics of an anti-open stance toward China argue that such a policy will incentivize the country to build competing AI processors. Skeptics argue American AI chips could help China’s military to weaponize software against the United States. 
It is unclear how much control over exports will be the focus of President Trump’s summit with Xi. On the docket for the trip, conversations surrounding tariffs, trade practices, and China’s relationship with Iran appear to take precedence.

The Trump administration has been talking a lot about the idea of affordability, particularly in the wake of New York City&#8217;s election of Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, who ran on a platform focused on that. And while not all prices have come down as quickly as many would have liked, gas prices have been on a steady decline, and the rollback of Biden-era &#8220;green&#8221; energy standards could soon pay off for consumers in the market for new automobiles.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) earned an annoyed eye roll from CNBC anchor Becky Quick as they squared off over health care during a Friday morning appearance on &#8220;Squawk Box.&#8221;
Quick and Jeffries were discussing the apparent impasse between Republicans and Democrats over the Affordable Care Act — and how long an extension they might approve for the COVID-era subsidies — and Quick tried several times to point out that some Republicans were willing to work out a deal, but Democrats were still trying to make demands.

Quick began by pointing out that there was already at least one bipartisan measure — supported by Reps. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) and Don Bacon (R-NE) — that had been proposed, offering a two-year extension to the subsidies in question. That would double the extension that Democrats had pitched weeks earlier — one year — as a potential shutdown-ending deal.
&#8220;If you want to get done, you are going to need at least some Republicans to come over, why not start with a one-year extension or potentially even a two-year extension?” Quick asked, noting that a three-year extension was likely to be “dead in the water.&#8221;
Jeffries balked, noting that Democrats had already tried promising to end the shutdown in exchange for a one-year extension, but that Republicans had turned that down.

&#8220;That’s different. I’m talking about what you have now. Let’s not go back to what’s done in the past and what has not been extended. If you want to get something that it has actually done, you need to do something that will have bipartisan effect,&#8221; Quick pushed back.
&#8220;You can ask me the question. I’ll provide the answer,&#8221; Jeffries said.
&#8220;Answer the question instead of going back,&#8221; Quick pressed.
&#8220;I’m providing an answer in order to provide context,&#8221; Jeffries argued, prompting an annoyed eye roll from Quick. &#8220;Republicans have repeatedly refused to take yes for an answer. It was a very reasonable multi-year extension that was offered. It was one year straight extension, plus a multi-year process through a bipartisan commission to more permanently resolve the Affordable Care Act issue. So having that context is absolutely important, regardless of what you may think.&#8221;
&#8220;It’s important context to make me realize that I don’t think you want to get a deal done,&#8221; Quick replied. &#8220;I think this is something where you’d like to see the rates go higher and allow the Republicans to hang themselves with that. Is that the answer? Is this politics?&#8221;
Jeffries bristled: &#8220;That’s absolutely a ridiculous assertion, and really shame on you for saying that.&#8221;
&#8220;Three years is not going to get passed, so what do you do?&#8221; Quick asked again.
Jeffries repeatedly claimed that the issue was &#8220;patriotic&#8221; rather than &#8220;partisan,&#8221; but failed to acknowledge the fact that both the one-year extension offered by Senate Democrats and the three-year extension he appeared to be set on would guarantee that Republicans would have to address the same subsidy fight in an election year. The two year extension — to which he seemed adamantly opposed — was the only offer on the table that would put the next subsidy battle in an off year.

Senator Rubén Gallego (D-AZ) became visibly agitated when CNBC host Joe Kernen confronted him directly on how he&#8217;d responded to government shutdowns in the past — particularly when Republicans had been the ones making demands — and Kernen ultimately pulled the plug on the entire interview.
&#8220;If Republicans shut down the government the next time Democrats are in charge to extract whatever it is that they happen to want —&#8221; Kernen began.

CNBC hosts Joe Kernen and Rick Santelli tag-teamed a roast of Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) after the second quarter economic numbers came back stronger than expected.
Kernen led the charge, first talking about the positive changes in the economy and then using that to bash Warren for repeatedly claiming — even in the face of evidence to the contrary — that the United States economy was heading into doom and gloom because of President Donald Trump.

In the end, Congress has their own reasons to point out certain things, and the Democrats, as you pointed out, really don&#8217;t want to see the current administration have some success, but there&#8217;s no doubt that this is some success.&#8221;
&#8220;We&#8217;re seeing more horsepower, we&#8217;re seeing better equities, inflation — inflation really hasn&#8217;t changed much in the last year or so,&#8221; Santelli concluded.
Senate Majority Leader <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chuck-schumer-gaslights-senate-with-his-take-on-q2-numbers-you-dont-see-what-you-see">Chuck Schumer</a> gave an example in real time of what Kernen had described, taking to the Senate floor on Wednesday to claim that despite the strong second quarter numbers, doom and gloom lay &#8220;under the hood.&#8221;

CNBC Hosts Use Economic Numbers To Roast Elizabeth Warren

Earlier this month, CNBC published a <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/07/14/americas-worst-places-quality-of-life-top-states-for-business.html">report</a> detailing which states represent “America’s worst for quality of life in 2025.” What they gave was a list of the places terrified liberals are fleeing as cities collapse under the weight of disastrous liberal policies.
The “worst” ones are called out for issues such as “inclusiveness of state laws” and “reproductive rights.” Reliably red states including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Utah, and Texas all make the list, but then comes the doozy: the worst of the worst, per CNBC, is the <a href="https://store.dailywire.com/products/make-america-tennessee-hat?_pos=1&amp;_sid=2117ef68f&amp;_ss=r">good old Volunteer State.</a>
The news outlet gives Tennessee 61 out of a possible 265 points for its “quality of life” score, noting issues such as “crime rate,” “inclusiveness,” and “worker protections.”
CNBC also notes that The Volunteer State has “been at the forefront of legislation limiting the rights of its LGBTQ+ population, beginning as far back as 2015. The state was among the earliest to codify a person&#8217;s gender based on their anatomy, passing its law in 2023.”
So, it’s a state where men are men, women are women, and everyone loves country music? Sure. Sounds like a leftist’s nightmare. That’s why we love it.

There’s never been a better time to hit back against the mainstream narrative and assert that Tennessee isn’t just one of the greatest states of the union – it’s actually the standard all other states should be measured against.

It was not just a victory for Tennessee, but for every state in the union. That decision paved the way for other states to follow suit and once again return to a nation of common sense.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) dismissed Elon Musk&#8217;s argument that President Donald Trump and the Republican Party would have lost to the Democrats in 2024 if not for his contributions on behalf of the GOP.
As the feud between Musk and Trump rages on, Johnson acknowledged in an interview with CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Squawk Box&#8221; on Friday that Musk had a &#8220;big&#8221; role in the GOP&#8217;s 2024 election success, but added that Trump &#8220;is the one responsible&#8221; for defeating the Democrats.
&#8220;Elon was a big contributor in the last election, but this was a whole team effort,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;President Trump is the most consequential political figure of his generation, of modern American history. He is the one responsible for that.&#8221;
The speaker added that he, along with &#8220;all of our House Republicans,&#8221; worked tirelessly to deliver the House for the GOP in 2024.
&#8220;We all worked hard,&#8221; Johnson said, adding, &#8220;I traveled the country nonstop. I did over 360 campaign events in over 250 cities and 40 states, and I logged enough miles last year to circle the globe five-and-a-half times. I mean, I contributed to it as well. All of our House Republicans did.&#8221;

Johnson said he still respects Musk, calling him a &#8220;friend&#8221; and crediting him for his role in the &#8220;DOGE effort.&#8221; The speaker added that disagreements over policy shouldn&#8217;t become &#8220;personal.&#8221;
&#8220;I don&#8217;t tell my friend Elon, I don&#8217;t argue with him about how to build rockets. I wish he wouldn&#8217;t argue with me about how to craft legislation and pass it,&#8221; Johnson said.
After Trump told reporters on Thursday that he was &#8220;very disappointed&#8221; with Musk over his criticism of the &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill,&#8221; the president added that he “would have won Pennsylvania regardless of Elon.” Musk quickly shot back on social media, writing, &#8220;Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.&#8221;

Musk donated nearly $300 million to Republican causes in the 2024 election and was one of Trump&#8217;s biggest supporters, appearing with him on stage at some of his rallies. Trump rewarded Musk with a senior adviser role in the White House, and Musk spearheaded the effort to cut waste and spending in the federal government through the Department of Government Efficiency project. The billionaire entrepreneur became a constant companion of the president, often appearing with him in the Oval Office and traveling with him to sporting events, and in February, Musk <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1887889037354008729">said</a> he loved Trump &#8220;as much as a straight man can love another man.&#8221;
But on Thursday, after Trump&#8217;s criticism of Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO quickly ratcheted up the tension, firing off numerous social media posts blasting the president and eventually <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-goes-after-trump-over-epstein-files-time-to-drop-the-really-big-bomb">accusing</a> Trump of refusing to release the Epstein Files because he is implicated in them.

President Donald Trump&#8217;s tariffs have driven a massive drop in the trade deficit — going from nearly $140 billion in March to $61.6 billion in April.
According to the latest numbers, which were detailed during a Thursday morning broadcast on CNBC, the sharp drop in the trade deficit also fueled a significant bump in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) — the Atlanta Fed GDP now was at 4.64%.
&#8220;The big news is there is how much it bolsters GDP — just look at Atlanta Fed GDP now, which is at 4.64%,&#8221; the anchor noted.

A New York Times report digging into some of the latest numbers indicated that the March trade deficit may have been slightly artificially inflated as imports surged to get ahead of the tariffs that everyone knew were coming. In addition, the NYT also noted the fact that the drop in the trade deficit almost exclusively reflected a decrease in imports — meaning that as production picked up domestically, that could also drive the deficit even lower.
President Trump celebrated the drop in the trade deficit one week earlier, playing video from another CNBC broadcast in the Oval Office.
&#8220;Personal income is up 0.8%. That is almost triple the expectation. The income numbers, really for the first four months of the year, they’re stellar. They’re really stellar. I mean, I could go back and look at the first four months of many different years, really very strong numbers,&#8221; anchor Rick Santelli said at the time.
&#8220;How the hell did they already fix the trade deficit? Or not fix it, but to cut it in half? That&#8217;s crazy,&#8221; Joe Kernen added.
&#8220;Yeah, I’ll tell you what, it really does call into question some of the conventional wisdoms. And you know it’s going to be interesting to see what happens next month, when we get this number, or we see some of the other numbers—like current accounts—see how they fared. Because I don’t know, I’ve been watching these numbers a long time. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the trade deficit cut in half for one month,&#8221; Santelli concluded.

The investor who inspired the 2015 movie &#8220;The Big Short&#8221; said on Tuesday that he believed President Donald Trump could win the tariff wars — if cooler heads prevail.
Steve Eisman made an appearance on CNBC to promote his new podcast, &#8220;The Eisman Playbook,&#8221; and he weighed in on the market turmoil that followed Trump&#8217;s announcement from nearly a week earlier of implementing tariffs around the globe.

Despite the tariff-driven uncertainty causing wild dips in the market, Eisman said that it was all about the politics — and if the political side of things resolved, so too would its reflection in the market. As for the economics experts who have panned the Trump plan, Eisman said the primary reason for that was the fact that he was willing to disrupt the status quo in a way that most presidents had not.
&#8220;Everybody of our social class took Econ 101, and we were all taught the same thing: Trade good, tariffs bad, trade war terrible. And that was drummed into everybody&#8217;s heads so hard, with such force that it&#8217;s a paradigm — now you have a President of the United States who doesn’t seem to accept that paradigm, and people find that extremely jarring,&#8221; Eisman said.
&#8220;If reasonable heads prevail, Trump will get pretty much what he wants,&#8221; Eisman predicted, adding that overall, the United States would likely &#8220;suffer the least&#8221; impact from the current turmoil.
&#8220;If countries were rational, countries like Canada and Mexico would basically be coming to the United States and beg – &#8216;We’ll do what you want&#8217; – of the 35%, Mexico and Canada have of their GDP from exports, 25 points of that 35 percent is just exports to the United States,&#8221; Eisman explained, arguing that those countries were aware of their economic limitations and would most likely respond accordingly. &#8220;Those two countries hold no cards. Now, Europe is not much better, and so I think if everyone is rational, they’ll lower their barriers.&#8221;
Eisman did offer one caveat, however, saying, &#8220;Now that doesn’t mean everybody’s rational. There’s politics, some of the politicians might be afraid if we give in we’re going to lose our jobs, that’s the wild card.&#8221;
Eisman concluded by pointing out that, jarring or not, Trump was only doing what he had promised he would do if elected to a second term.
&#8220;You can agree with President Trump, or you can disagree with him,&#8221; Eisman declared. &#8220;He is one of the few politicians in my lifetime who does exactly what he says he’s going to do.&#8221;

Axios recently did a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/axios-posts-interview-stats-on-2024-presidential-tickets-and-its-not-close">side-by-side comparison</a> of the two major-party campaigns and their media availability, and it was not even close. &#8220;The Harris-Walz ticket is on pace to do fewer interviews and press conferences than any major party’s presidential pairing in modern U.S. history,&#8221; the outlet reported.
At the time the Axios report was published, Trump had done seven local interviews to Harris&#8217; one. Trump&#8217;s running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH) had done 15 and Harris&#8217; — Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) — had done three. And the stats only got worse from there: neither Harris nor Walz has held an official press conference, while Trump has held three and Vance has held 12. Trump and Vance have also done numerous national television interviews (two and 24, respectively) compared to the Harris-Walz ticket&#8217;s one joint pre-recorded interview with friendly host Dana Bash on CNN.

House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Johnson</a> (R-LA) called the separation of church and state a &#8220;misnomer&#8221; when CNBC co-anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin attempted to corner him about kneeling and praying on the floor of Congress earlier this year.
&#8220;The separation of church and state is a misnomer —people misunderstand it,&#8221; Johnson said during an interview on &#8220;Squawk Box.&#8221;
&#8220;Of course, it comes from a phrase that was in a letter that [Thomas] Jefferson wrote — it&#8217;s not in the Constitution,&#8221; he added.
Johnson referred to Thomas Jefferson&#8217;s 1802 <a href="https://www.loc.gov/loc/lcib/9806/danpre.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut when Jefferson served as the third President of the United States.
&#8220;What he was explaining is they did not want the government to encroach upon the church, not that they didn&#8217;t want principles of faith to have influence on our public life is exactly the opposite,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;It&#8217;s exactly the opposite.&#8221;
He then referenced <a href="https://virginiahistory.org/learn/george-washingtons-farewell-address#:~:text=%E2%80%9COf%20all%20the%20dispositions%20and,men%20and%20citizens...." target="_blank" rel="noopener">George Washington&#8217;s Farewell Address</a>, delivered in 1796, which stated, &#8220;Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.&#8221;
Johnson also mentioned John Adams&#8217; <a href="https://www.johnadamsacademy.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=2003858&amp;type=d&amp;pREC_ID=2094472#_ftn1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to the Massachusetts Militia in 1798, which read, &#8220;Our constitution is made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.&#8221;
&#8220;They knew that it would be important to maintain our system,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;And that&#8217;s why I think we need more of that &#8212; not an establishment of any national religion, but we need everybody&#8217;s vibrant expression of faith because it&#8217;s such an important part of who we are as a nation.&#8221;
Johnson <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-make-no-apologies-new-house-speaker-says-the-bible-is-his-worldview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> unanimous Republican support after three weeks of chaos — and three other nominees for the position — and was elected on October 25 to replace ousted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), becoming second in line to the presidency.

During his first speech as speaker, Johnson told every other member of Congress that he believed God had called them all to use their gifts to serve the American people.
But just before the newly minted House Speaker secured the gavel, Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) posted a photo of Johnson with a small cadre of House members praying for the Speaker&#8217;s race back in January.
In the CNBC interview, Johnson pointed to the First Amendment when asked about expressing his faith on the House floor after being sworn in.
&#8220;Faith — our deep religious heritage and tradition is a big part of what it means to be an American,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;When the founders set the system up, they wanted a vibrant expression of faith in the public square because they believed that a general moral consensus and virtue was necessary to maintain this grand experiment and self-governance.&#8221;
&#8220;So we created a government of, by, and for the people,&#8221; he added. &#8220;We don&#8217;t have a king in charge, we don&#8217;t have a middleman — so we&#8217;ve got to keep morality amongst us so that we have accountability.&#8221;
Johnson worked as a senior lawyer for the Alliance Defense Fund, focusing on religious freedom issues in schools, government, and other public spaces before he entered Congress.
His faith plays a significant role in his political decision-making — so much so that <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/01/opinion/mike-johnson-christian-nationalism-speaker.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a> seethed over him becoming the first speaker of the House &#8220;who can be fairly described as a Christian nationalist.&#8221;
