Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/charles-grassley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chuck Grassley</a> (R-IA) has reportedly obtained information indicating that more than 40 confidential human sources have provided information to federal law enforcement about &#8220;criminal&#8221; activity involving President Joe Biden, his son Hunter, and his brother James.
Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fbi-received-criminal-information-40-confidential-sources-joe-biden-hunter-jim-grassley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that FBI field offices across the U.S. were &#8220;provided criminal information to the FBI relating to Joe Biden, James Biden, and Hunter Biden.&#8221;
Grassley said that an FBI task force inside the Washington Field Office shut down &#8220;reporting and information from those sources by falsely discrediting the information as foreign disinformation,&#8221; the report said. The result was that a lot of the information that was given to officials went nowhere.
The 90-year-old senator said in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray that the information appeared to show &#8220;significant political bias infecting the decision-making of not only the Attorney General and FBI Director, but also line agents and prosecutors.&#8221;
&#8220;Our Republic cannot survive such a political infection and you have an obligation to this country to clear the air,&#8221; he added.
The letter seeks to find out from Wray and Garland what information authorities looked at and what information they never followed up on.
The news comes as Hunter Biden is in the middle of a criminal case after being indicted on gun charges. He is reportedly still under investigation for matters related to his taxes and his foreign business dealings.
President Biden is under criminal investigation by Special Counsel Robert Hur, a Trump-era U.S. attorney, over his handling of classified material.

Biden was interviewed by investigators at the start of the month in their investigation, a sign that the Hur is getting close to the end of his investigation. Federal officials have interviewed approximately 100 witnesses in the investigation.

Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/charles-grassley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chuck Grassley</a> (R-IA) said in an interview on Wednesday that the Department of Justice and FBI will further damage their credibility if they do not cooperate with a subpoena from lawmakers to produce documents related to a report that they received from a whistleblower about alleged criminal activity involving then-Vice President Joe Biden.
Grassley and House Committee on Oversight James Comer (R-KY) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whistleblower-alleges-fbi-has-evidence-of-biden-engaging-in-bribery-scheme-with-foreign-national" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray that “it has come to our attention that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.”
Garland told Fox News&#8217; &#8220;America Reports&#8221; that &#8220;if the Justice Department and the FBI have any hopes of redeeming their once trusted position with the American people, Garland and Wray must answer this subpoena and tell us what they&#8217;re doing with this information that we think is very credible based upon what whistleblowers are telling us.”
Grassley repeatedly doubled down on the source that gave him the information, saying that it came from &#8220;very credible sources within the department.&#8221;
Grassley said that he was fearful that the unclassified document contains information that is so explosive that the administration could have it classified and try to keep it out of the hands of Congress.
The 89-year-old senator said that he expects the document to be &#8220;very difficult to get&#8221; because of how &#8220;explosive&#8221; it is, and that &#8220;the American people deserve transparency from the FBI.&#8221;
Grassley said that if the FBI and DOJ do not produce the records, it hurts their credibility. &#8220;I would hope they&#8217;d want to enhance their credibility by cooperating with us on this,&#8221; he added.

And, you know, over several years, I&#8217;ve made accusations about this situation or another crime being committed or another political interference and never once has the FBI or the Department of Justice challenged my authenticity on what I bring up to them,” Grassley continued. “And even though they don&#8217;t challenge it, I don&#8217;t get the information I want that would clear everything up. And it&#8217;s — and I think it really hurts the FBI, its credibility. It hurts the DOJ credibility if they don&#8217;t cooperate. So I would hope they&#8217;d want to enhance their credibility by cooperating with us on this.”

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is not mincing words when it comes to the latest news that Special Counsel John Durham recently alleged in court filings that operatives linked to Hillary Clinton&#8217;s failed presidential campaign &#8220;exploited&#8221; Internet data linked to Trump Tower and the Executive Office of the President in an effort to establish a “narrative” tying Trump to Russia.
On Tuesday, Grassley accused Clinton of spying on then-candidate Trump and abusing her connections in government to continue the surveillance once he was inaugurated.
On Sunday, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bombshell-clinton-campaign-paid-tech-company-to-infiltrate-trump-tower-white-house-servers-durham-says">reported</a> that Durham&#8217;s revelation was &#8220;made in a court filing late last week that centered on potential conflicts of interest connected to the representation of former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussman, who has been charged with allegedly lying to the FBI&#8221;:
<blockquote>The filing says that Sussman and the tech executive had met and been in contact with another lawyer who was working for the Clinton campaign.
The filing says that during the summer of 2016, the tech executive worked with Sussman, an investigative firm retained by a law firm on behalf of the Clinton campaign, and employees at tech companies to gather “data.”
“In connection with these efforts, Tech Executive-1 exploited his access to non-public and/or proprietary Internet data,” the filing states. “Tech Executive-1 also enlisted the assistance of researchers at a U.S.-based university who were receiving and analyzing large amounts of Internet data in connection with a pending federal government cybersecurity research contract.”
“Tech Executive-1 tasked these researchers to mine Internet data to establish ‘an inference’ and ‘narrative’ tying then-candidate Trump to Russia,” Durham states. “In doing so, Tech Executive-1 indicated that he was seeking to please certain ‘VIPs,’ referring to individuals at Law Firm-1 and the Clinton campaign.”</blockquote>
The Daily Wire also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bombshell-clinton-campaign-paid-tech-company-to-infiltrate-trump-tower-white-house-servers-durham-says">added</a> that the alleged monitoring also included the Executive Office of the President:
<blockquote>The tech company that the tech executive worked for “had come to access and maintain dedicated servers” for the Executive Office of the President as “part of a sensitive arrangement whereby it provided DNS resolution services to the EOP,” the filing said. “Tech Executive-1 and his associates exploited this arrangement by mining the EOP’s DNS traffic and other data for the purpose of gathering derogatory information about Donald Trump.”</blockquote>
The news, which some have <a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2022/feb/14/worse-than-watergate-what-did-hillary-clinton-and-/">described</a> as worse than Watergate, has largely been ignored by the mainstream media, or twisted to focus on Trump&#8217;s reaction to filings. Over the weekend, Trump implied that the perpetrators of this spying should be tried for treason, punishable by death, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-responds-to-bombshell-report-claiming-clinton-campaign-paid-to-infiltrate-white-house-servers">reported</a> by The Daily Wire:

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, the oldest Republican in the Senate, announced early Friday morning that he would run for re-election to serve an eighth term in the Senate. 
“It’s 4 a.m. in Iowa so I’m running. I do that 6 days a week. Before I start the day I want you to know what Barbara and I have decided. I’m running for re-election—a lot more to do, for Iowa. We ask and will work for your support. Will you join us?” he <a href="https://twitter.com/GrassleyWorks/status/1441326699593932805">announced </a>via Grassley Works, a Twitter account affiliated with the senator. 
He also put out a brief <a href="https://twitter.com/GrassleyWorks/status/1441374372674129921">video</a> announcing his run, call it &#8220;the right thing to do for Iowa.” 
The Republican senator, who recently turned 88, later<a href="https://twitter.com/ChuckGrassley/status/1441424867916668930"> tweeted</a> out from his personal account that “Iowa needs strong and effective leadership” and that he still had a lot of work left to be done. Throughout his career in the Senate, which began in 1980, Grassley has chaired key committees like the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he is currently the ranking member.

The Des Moines Register reported that Grassley officially started campaigning on Friday. He made a stop to speak with law enforcement officers. 
&#8220;I do feel better about it,&#8221; Grassley <a href="https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/politics/2021/09/24/iowa-us-senate-republican-chuck-grassley-announces-run-2022-election/5799029001/">said</a>. &#8220;I took longer this time than ever before in the six or seven re-elections I&#8217;ve had. I just thought I should, and I did. And I&#8217;m happy with the decision I&#8217;ve made. My wife and kids are happy. I hope the people of Iowa will be happy.&#8221;
The Register also reported that Grassley was praying about whether or not to run again, during a period of time when there had been speculation about whether the eldest Republican statesmen would retire. 
Grassley also told reporters that he believes he has done a good job as senator. 
&#8220;That&#8217;s what I&#8217;ve always done, and I want to continue doing that — serving the people of Iowa and being their senator,&#8221; Grassley said. &#8220;Doing a good job of that is the best advertisement you can do of why you should be reelected.”

On Tuesday, Iowa GOP Senator Charles E. Grassley, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, <a href="https://www.grassley.senate.gov/news/news-releases/grassley-again-seeks-update-on-referrals-of-bogus-allegations-during-kavanaugh-confirmation">fired off a letter</a> to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice as well as FBI Director Christopher Wray, demanding they follow through on a request made on October 8, 2019, to former Attorney General Barr and Director Wray requesting an update “concerning their handling of criminal referrals made by the Committee following its investigation into allegations of decades-old misconduct by then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh.”
Grassley noted that “the Justice Department and FBI have failed to respond to our letter and have failed to apprise the Committee whether, and to what extent, any steps have been taken to investigate and hold accountable those individuals who criminally interfered with the Committee’s investigation.”
“These failures are entirely unacceptable,” he continued. “As my colleagues and I stressed in our previous letter, the Committee’s four criminal referrals, dated September 29, 2018, October 25, 2018, October 26, 2018, and November 2, 2018, were not made lightly. Those referrals highlighted serious cases in which individuals made materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements to Committee investigators.”
“For example, one of the referrals related to an individual from Rhode Island who falsely alleged to Congress that Judge Kavanaugh had assaulted a friend on a boat, only to later admit on social media that he lied about the event,” Grassley wrote. “Two referrals related to allegations made by Mr. Michael Avenatti and his client, Ms. Julie Swetnick, who accused Judge Kavanaugh of being involved in gang rape activities. The Committee identified no verifiable evidence to support the allegations.”
“The Committee found that Mr. Avenatti, who has since been convicted on felony extortion charges, and his client, Ms. Swetnick, had a long history of credibility issues and may have criminally conspired to mislead the Committee regarding those allegations and obstruct its investigation,” Grassley pointed out. “A final referral related to Ms. Judy Munro-Leighton, a woman who claimed to be the author of an anonymous letter stating that Judge Kavanaugh and a friend raped her ‘several times each’ in the back seat of a car. Ms. Munro-Leighton later admitted that she falsely claimed that she was the author of the letter and its allegations and only claimed authorship of the letter ‘as a way to grab attention.’ These false allegations materially impeded the Committee’s work and diverted important Committee resources during its time-sensitive investigation.”
Grassley noted that his office had released a 414-page report of investigative findings “which did not include so much as a shred of evidence to support any of the allegations made against Judge Kavanaugh,” adding, “The FBI background checks – two of them – didn’t uncover any such evidence, either.”
Grassley concluded, “It is, however, the responsibility of the Justice Department and FBI to hold those who mislead and obstruct Congress accountable for their criminal behavior. Accordingly, I ask that you provide a response to the questions posed in the October 8, 2019, letter no later than April 6, 2021. Your response should include a full explanation of the steps the Justice Department and FBI have taken to investigate the Committee’s four criminal referrals for investigation of potential violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1001 (materially false statements), 1505 (obstruction), and 371 (conspiracy). If no actions have been taken in response to those referrals, please explain why not.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee held its hearing for the Equality Act on Wednesday, including testimonies from citizen witnesses, as well as United States Representatives and Senators. Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (IA), chairman of the Judiciary Committee, discussed his personal religious beliefs in a statement at the hearing.
Grassley stated, &#8220;We all agree that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect &#8230; We’re all human beings and need to treat each other with kindness and compassion, and for some of ya, it may be sentimental for me to say that my guide is from the Bible. &#8216;Love God,&#8217; that first law. The second law — ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”
&#8220;I question whether that is what this bill truly does. I strongly suspect that it actually would dictate what women, girls, schools, churches, doctors and others must believe,” Grassley continued.
&#8220;I want to hear from experts and ordinary Americans with life experiences. We need to consider the perspective of everyone who will be affected by this bill&#8217;s sweeping language.&#8221;
Proponents of the bill see it as a way to put protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals into the Civil Rights Act and enshrine equal treatment for members of those groups across the country. However, the bill&#8217;s opponents charge that it limits religious freedom and would directly disadvantage and potentially harm biological females.
Late last month, the bill passed the House of Representatives in a 224-206 vote. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sweeping-lgbt-bill-passes-house-gop-lawmaker-vows-to-fight-in-the-courts-and-beyond-if-it-becomes-law">The Daily Wire</a> reports, &#8220;The Democratic caucus voted unanimously in favor of the bill along with three Republican House members who sided with the Democrats against the rest of their caucus.&#8221;
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said in a statement, “We are witnessing the greatest assault on religious freedom, biological reality, and parental rights ever seen in the U.S. Congress &#8230; The sweeping Equality Act expands the definition of ‘public accommodation’ in many instances to include churches and schools – including religious schools. The bill redefines what it means to be ‘male and female.’ It politicizes medicine and forces doctors to violate their consciences. And it redefines religious freedom into something that would be unrecognizable to our Founding Fathers.”
Mary Rice Hasson, the Kate O&#8217;Beirne Fellow in Catholic Studies at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, testified at the hearing on Wednesday and discussed matters of faith in regards to the details of the Equality Act.
Hasson <a href="http://eppc.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Testimony-Mary-Hasson-EA-Judiciary-3.17.2021-FINAL.pdf">said</a>, &#8220;Let me begin by stating clearly that I believe unjust discrimination is always wrong. All Americans should be treated fairly. Affirming the dignity of all human persons is central to my Catholic faith.”
&#8220;So too is another truth about the human person: we are created male or female from conception &#8230; biological sex matters, in law, medicine, and, for many of us, in the practice of our faith.&#8221;
Hasson continued, &#8220;The Equality Act goes where no federal law has gone before: it redefines sex with no reference to biological distinctions between male and female,” adding, &#8220;The Equality Act defines sex as stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy, sexual desires, and self-perception or gender identity. Gender identity, in turn, is defined by characteristics regardless of sex.”
&#8220;The Equality Act thus cements into the law an ideological belief that identity is self-defined, regardless of the sexed body. It suppresses opposing beliefs — and punishes those who dissent.&#8221;
The bill will require 60 votes in the Senate in order to pass.

Grassley’s comment was not the only one blasting Democrats for their silence as cities were targeted by left-wing activists; <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/democrats-outraged-about-right-wing-violence-largely-silent-portland-dnc-hq-vandalized-1563452">Newsweek</a> noted on Thursday:

They, among other Democrats, previously condemned far-right extremists activities, especially the riot at the U.S. Capitol Building on Jan. 6.</blockquote>
The <a href="https://spdblotter.seattle.gov/2021/01/21/three-arrested-during-wednesday-evening-demonstration/">Seattle Police Department</a> reported that on Wednesday in Seattle, “individuals dressed mostly in black … lit a large American flag on fire.” They then tore down plywood window coverings and then broke several windows of a local business before one individual broke windows at the William Kenzo Nakamura Court House. Two other businesses had their windows shattered. Three suspects were arrested by Seattle police for the incidents.
On Wednesday, the Portland police arrested six people after a crowd <a href="https://katu.com/news/local/arrests-made-during-portland-protests-group-delays-officers-responding-to-crash-police-s">carrying</a> shields, umbrellas, ASP and PR-24 batons and rocks — with some in the crowd wearing gas masks and helmets — vandalized the ICE building with graffiti and threw rocks.
The Portland Police had issued <a href="https://www.portlandoregon.gov/police/news/read.cfm?id=281480&amp;ec=3&amp;fbclid=IwAR3tHox4pt7DIAaoIBiMFejWZxN4D0Yy0bkVUDZ70sL4dV80hEWhvJjRu5o">public address announcements</a> over a loudspeaker including: &#8220;This is the Portland Police Bureau. Roadways in the South Waterfront remain open to vehicular traffic. No permit has been issued for area roadways. Pedestrians and demonstrators must obey all traffic laws and remain on sidewalks. Failure to comply with this order may subject you to arrest and/or the use of crowd control agents or impact weapons.&#8221;
Portland Police did not deploy any munitions or CS gas, they said.
Prior to that, on Wednesday afternoon, eight people <a href="https://katu.com/news/local/protesters-at-j20-demonstration-march-through-southeast-portland">were arrested</a> after a group of roughly 150 people targeted the Democratic Party of Oregon&#8217;s Portland headquarters, where they shattered windows and vandalized the building. <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/inauguration-day-protests-in-portland-seattle-turned-violent-11611260877">The Wall Street Journal</a> reported:
<blockquote>Photos from local media showed a crowd dressed in black marching with banners, including one with the phrase, “We are ungovernable.” A banner captured in another photo reads, “We don’t want Biden—we want revenge!” and included both anarchist and antifascist symbols. Another showed a sign that read “F&#8212; I.C.E.” 
Video footage verified by Storyful shows people dressed in black, some wearing gas masks, breaking windows at the Democratic Party headquarters using batons. The walls of the building also had been tagged with anti-Biden and antipolice messages.</blockquote>
Grassley has not been shy about slamming Democrats before. In October 2018, he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/grassley-goes-schumer-democrats-kavanaugh-smear-ryan-saavedra/">ripped</a> then-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for trying to &#8220;destroy&#8221; Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, saying:

A report released by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) reveals that an office within the Obama Administration’s Treasury Department called the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) granted a non-profit group’s request for a license to pay an organization sanctioned for funding terrorist activities.
Grassley’s staff had investigated World Vision, a non-profit humanitarian organization, and its relationship with the Islamic Relief Agency (ISRA), which had been sanctioned by the United States since 2004 for its funding of terrorist activities, including those of Osama bin Laden.
Grassley stated, “World Vision works to help people in need across the world, and that work is admirable. Though it may not have known that ISRA was on the sanctions list or that it was listed because of its affiliation with terrorism, it should have. Ignorance can’t suffice as an excuse. World Vision’s changes in vetting practices are a good first step, and I look forward to its continued progress.”
Grassley’s <a href="https://www.grassley.senate.gov/news/news-releases/grassley-releases-results-investigation-world-vision-s-interactions-isra">website</a> noted, “World Vision only discovered the sanctions issue when another non-profit aid group declined to work with them after doing their own due diligence and finding the affiliation between World Vision and the sanctioned ISRA.”
The <a href="https://www.finance.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Oversight,%2012-23-20,%20Memo%20on%20World%20Vision%20Investigation.pdf">report</a> stated:
<blockquote>In a press release, World Vision claimed they were not aware of ISRA’s status before partnering with them and appeared to shift the blame for this incident to the United States government. World Vision articulated two main reasons why they believe the federal government bears responsibility in this incident. First, they claim that on two separate occasions, two different government agencies were notified that World Vision was working with ISRA and neither agency raised any concerns. Second, World Vision argues that the online search tool provided by the Treasury department made it difficult to ascertain whether or not ISRA was a sanctioned entity. …
The United States government placed sanctions on ISRA in 2004 after they had funneled approximately $5 million to Maktab Al-Khidamat, the predecessor to Al- Qaeda controlled by Osama Bin Laden. ISRA’s leadership also engaged in discussions to help relocate Bin Laden to secure safe harbor for him.In the mid-2000’s, ISRA was responsible for moving funds to support a Palestinian terrorist. According to Treasury, when raising funds ISRA was known to display two “collection boxes marked ‘Allah’ and ‘Israel,’ signaling the funds would be directed towards attacks against Israelis.” …
In late September 2014, World Vision’s legal department was notified of ISRA’s potential status as a sanctioned entity. World Vision immediately ceased all payments to ISRA and began investigating whether ISRA was indeed a sanctioned entity. On November 19, 2014, World Vision sent a letter to OFAC requesting clarification of ISRA’s status. The letter also included a request for a temporary license to complete the existing contract with ISRA, despite their status, in the event that ISRA was indeed a sanctioned entity.
According to World Vision, OFAC took longer than expected to respond. During this time, World Vision’s field office in Sudan reported that ISRA and the Sudanese government were applying intense pressure on it to pay money owed for services performed. On January 20, 2015, two months after World Vision submitted its request for clarification to OFAC, World Vision General Counsel sent an email to OFAC informing them of World Vision’s intent to resume its work with ISRA in a week’s time unless it received a response from OFAC confirming ISRA’s sanctioned status.
On January 23, 2015, Treasury responded to World Vision’s November inquiry and informed it that ISRA is indeed a sanctioned entity. Furthermore, in the same letter OFAC denied World Vision’s request for a license to transact with ISRA, stating that authorizing further activities would be “inconsistent with OFAC policy.” On February 19, 2015, World Vision again requested a license to transact with ISRA in order to pay them $125,000 for services rendered. In its request, World Vision stressed that it could face severe legal consequences and even expulsion from Sudan if it did not pay ISRA the monies owed. On May 4, 2015, the Obama Administration’s State Department recommended OFAC grant World Vision’s request for a license to pay ISRA $125,000 in monies owed. The following day, OFAC granted World Vision a specific license to pay ISRA $125,000 only for services rendered.</blockquote>

On Monday, Iowa GOP senator Charles Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, fired off a <a href="https://www.grassley.senate.gov/sites/default/files/2020-11-09%20CEG%20to%20DOJ%20%28FARA%20CEFC%29.pdf">letter to U.S. Attorney General William Barr</a> in which he stated, “… the actions by Hunter Biden and James Biden on behalf of CEFC, Ye Jianming, and other officers connected to CEFC, potentially make them agents of the Chinese government.”
Grassley began the letter by stating that he had served “in both the Obama and Trump administrations, I have conducted oversight of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) lax and selective enforcement of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).” He explained, “FARA is an important statute that was designed not to prohibit activity but rather to require individuals to register with the DOJ if they are acting as an agent of a foreign government or enterprise to influence U.S. policy or public opinion. This helps ensure transparency and accountability in the public policy arena. FARA is a content-neutral law and does not require any entity or individual to refrain from certain types of speech or activities.”
Grassley noted, “FARA requires individuals to register with the Department of Justice if they act, even through an intermediary, &#8216;as an agent, representative, employee, or servant&#8217; or in &#8216;any other capacity&#8217; at the behest of a foreign principal, including a foreign political party, government, or corporation, for purposes of engagement with a United States official to influence U.S. policy or the public.”
He warned:
<blockquote>Proper enforcement of, and compliance with, FARA remains a top priority of mine as foreign governments and enterprises continue to use agents within the United States as conduits to lobby for policy changes and engage in public relations activity for the benefit of foreign principals.
Sometimes, however, certain relationships appear to operate outside of the transparency requirements and spirit of FARA. For example, based on recently released emails, texts, and my recent report with Senator Johnson on conflicts of interest relating to Hunter Biden’s financial activities and those of his business associates, it appears that he and his uncle, James Biden, had significant connections to CEFC Chinese Energy Co. Ltd. (CEFC). The records also show that CEFC was an extension of the Chinese government and that CEFC intended to alter U.S. policy and public opinion to its benefit and that the Chinese government would be the principal beneficiary of those actions.</blockquote>
Grassley stated bluntly, “CEFC is clearly a foreign principal as defined by FARA and Hunter Biden’s and James Biden’s work for CEFC directly benefitted the communist Chinese government thereby making them potential agents of that government.”
Grassley noted that Ye and Hunter Biden “formed a lucrative financial relationship that resulted in Hunter Biden receiving millions of dollars” while Ye and CEFC gained access to lucrative U.S. opportunities.
“When the available evidence is taken as a whole, it is clear that CEFC intended to make inroads in the United States for the purpose of expanding its business and used Hunter Biden and his business associates to help effectuate that intent. In pursuit of its goals, it appears that CEFC may have taken action to influence U.S. policy and public opinion in its favor and gain access to several U.S. politicians in an attempt to curry favor for potential business transactions,” Grassley wrote.
Grassley concluded, “Based on the information acquired to date, CEFC was controlled by a foreign government, received financial support therefrom, and may have engaged in activity to influence the U.S. Government and public for the benefit of the communist Chinese government. Accordingly, the actions by Hunter Biden and James Biden on behalf of CEFC, Ye Jianming, and other officers connected to CEFC, potentially make them agents of the Chinese government for purposes of longstanding public disclosure laws. The American public deserves to know when foreign entities are operating in and attempting to influence U.S. policy and public opinion.”
