A California federal jury nixed billionaire Elon Musk&#8217;s lawsuit against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on Monday, concluding that Musk filed his claims after the statute of limitations had expired.
The jury <a href="https://www.npr.org/2026/05/18/nx-s1-5822366/musk-altman-openai-jury-verdict-claims-dismissed">returned its verdict</a> after deliberating for just 90 minutes following a three-week trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who presided over the case, said that she agreed with the jury&#8217;s unanimous decision.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve always said I would accept the jury&#8217;s verdict. I think there&#8217;s a substantial amount of evidence to support the jury&#8217;s finding,&#8221; Gonzalez Rogers said.
Legal experts said the jury likely focused on whether Musk waited too long to file suit under California law.
Vincent Joralemon, a senior fellow at UC Berkeley law school, told <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/18/business/elon-musk-loses-lawsuit-against-openai-in-unanimous-verdict/">The New York Pos</a>t that California imposes a three-year statute of limitations for breach of charitable trust claims and a two-year limit for unjust enrichment claims.
&#8220;I’m guessing the jurors got into their room and said, ‘Does it seem like Musk knew about this in 2019?’ and everyone said ‘yes’ and then they go, ‘we’re done,'&#8221; he said.
Musk brought the case in 2024, accusing Altman and OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman of betraying the organization&#8217;s original nonprofit mission by changing OpenAI to a profit-driven enterprise.
OpenAI was founded in 2015 as a nonprofit focused on developing artificial intelligence in a manner that would benefit humanity. Musk, who helped launch the organization and donated roughly $38 million before ultimately leaving the board in 2018, said OpenAI&#8217;s leadership abandoned that principle for financial gain.
The SpaceX founder asked for $150 billion in damages — and promised to appeal when the jury decided against him.
&#8220;Regarding the OpenAI case, the judge &amp; jury never actually ruled on the merits of the case, just on a calendar technicality,&#8221; Musk said in an X post on Monday.
&#8220;There is no question to anyone following the case in detail that Altman &amp; Brockman did in fact enrich themselves by stealing a charity,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The only question is WHEN they did it! I will be filing an appeal with the Ninth Circuit, because creating a precedent to loot charities is incredibly destructive to charitable giving in America.&#8221;
Musk&#8217;s attorney Marc Toberoff also vowed to appeal the decision: &#8220;I have a one-word reaction: Appeal. This war is not over.&#8221;
Toberoff argued that OpenAI improperly raised money as a publicly subsidized nonprofit before later restructuring into a for-profit operation &#8220;where the officers and directors of the charity enrich themselves to the tune of billions.&#8221;

In December of last year, Michael Dell made headlines by <a href="https://apnews.com/article/michael-dell-susan-trump-accounts-stock-market-poverty-inequality-7e2615d50a3fc0563109ed0eeb4c41e1">announcing</a> a gift of more than $6 billion to encourage families to take advantage of the new <a href="https://trumpaccounts.gov/">Trump Accounts</a>, and <a href="https://tradersunion.com/news/billionaires/show/1527643-charity-donations-us/">more recently</a> announced a platform through which others can join those efforts. This is an incredible act of generosity and a way for more people to get involved. But unfortunately, it’s counter to broader trends in American society.
Americans are <a href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/MEHOINUSA672N">more prosperous</a> than at any point in history, yet strangely <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/655493/new-low-satisfied-personal-life.aspx">less happy</a> and less generous with others. Household wealth <a href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/BOGZ1FL192090005Q">has soared</a>, consumer <a href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/PCE">spending</a> is strong, and most Americans enjoy material comforts unimaginable a century ago. Yet we give a paltry <a href="https://www.philanthropyroundtable.org/almanac/statistics-on-u-s-generosity/#:~:text=What%2520if%2520we%2520calculate%2520charitable,Various%2520Causes">2% of GDP</a> each year, and as many as <a href="https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-charitable-countries">4 in ten Americans</a> give nothing at all.
This decline is more than a financial trend; it is a cultural warning sign. <a href="https://www.psychologicalscience.org/news/giving-rather-than-receiving-leads-to-lasting-happiness-study.html">Generosity</a> is one of the strongest predictors of <a href="https://www.templeton.org/discoveries/science-of-generosity">human flourishing</a> — as or more reliable than income, consumption, or status. When a wealthy nation and its citizens eschew generosity, it signals not only a shift in behavior but a deeper erosion in meaning, connection, and civic health.
A more generous America would also be a happier America. The gifts we give — of money, time, and attention — create the bonds that hold communities together and the meaning that sustains individual lives. In a prosperous nation still searching for fulfillment, generosity may be the most powerful investment we can make.
I’ve spent years researching how money can enable rather than undermine human flourishing, a topic I explore in my new book, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Good-Money-Building-Financial-Purpose/dp/B0FHBV7CG4">Good Money</a>. Of all the ways we use money — earning, spending, giving, and investing — giving is the one most directly tied to the good life. Yet American generosity is stagnating.
The root of this problem lies in a modern paradox. We are materially richer, but we feel less secure. Psychological studies show that as incomes rise, <a href="https://moneywise.com/life/lifestyle/even-six-figure-earners-are-living-paycheck-to-paycheck-as-costs-soar-heres-why-high-incomes-arent-enough-to-escape-the-affordability-crisis">expectations rise</a> even faster. People compare themselves upward — to colleagues, neighbors, or the wealthy strangers they encounter online — and begin to doubt they have “enough” to be generous. When “enough” is always somewhere just beyond the horizon, giving always feels premature.
This mindset robs us twice. It deprives our communities of the resources they need to thrive, and it deprives us personally of one of the most reliable sources of lasting happiness. The data is clear. Spending money on others produces <a href="https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.1150952">more joy</a> than spending on ourselves. Generous people <a href="https://www.uab.edu/news/news-you-can-use/how-giving-to-others-can-boost-mental-and-physical-health">report</a> stronger relationships, greater purpose, and even better physical health. And these individuals tend to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/01/health/wealth-transfer-longevity-wellness">live longer</a>, experience <a href="https://www.inspirahealthnetwork.org/news/gift-giving-how-acts-generosity-boost-your-mental-well-being">less stress</a>, and feel <a href="https://blog.horizons.net/study-finds-eleven-personal-benefits-of-being-generous">more connected</a> to those around them.
So why do we give so little? One reason is that we expect generosity to come from inspiration — a moment of emotional clarity or overwhelming gratitude. But inspiration is fleeting. Generosity, like physical fitness or skill development, requires practice and intention. This is why religious communities that practice “tithing” (setting aside a portion of income each month for giving) are <a href="https://www.philanthropyroundtable.org/magazine/less-god-less-giving/">meaningfully more generous</a> than others. Pre-commitment to giving, like deciding in advance to give a percentage of our income, makes giving more seamless.
Another obstacle is the belief that small acts do not matter. Many people assume that unless they give substantially, their contribution is insignificant. Yet history and research prove otherwise. Consistent small gifts, compounded over years, have built hospitals, fed families, supported scholarship students, and sustained countless local nonprofits.
The first step toward greater generosity is to treat it as a purposeful part of financial life rather than an afterthought. The most generous households are not always the wealthiest; they are the ones who decide in advance that giving will be part of who they are. When generosity becomes an intentional commitment, such as saving for retirement or paying down debt, it takes root and grows.
Make giving an extension of identity rather than an obligation. People derive deeper satisfaction when their giving reflects the stories and values that shape them: faith communities, alma maters, local charities, youth programs, or causes tied to their passions or experiences.
Giving has a profound and lasting impact on families, and those in which generosity becomes a shared practice flourish. When parents involve children in choosing causes, volunteering together, or discussing charitable decisions, generosity becomes part of family culture. These habits shape children for life, grounding them in gratitude, empathy, and shared responsibility.
And generosity extends beyond money. Some of the most meaningful giving involves time, mentorship, encouragement, and hospitality. When finances feel tight — as they do for many — these forms of generosity remain powerful. Time spent visiting an elderly neighbor, coaching a youth team, teaching a skill, or simply showing up for others can change lives, including our own.
Ultimately, the best time to start living a life of generosity is now. Waiting for the perfect time is the surest way to ensure generosity never becomes a central part of our lives. The truth is that almost no one feels entirely ready to give. But those who begin anyway discover quickly that generosity does not diminish them. It expands them.

Twenty-five centuries ago, Thucydides wrote of heroic men that their story, after death, “abides everywhere without visible symbol, woven into the stuff of other men’s lives.” We know them when they are gone by their enduring effect upon us, and upon those who knew them — and upon those whom they never knew, but who live and flourish in the shade of their works. The hero lives beyond his own.
That was the late great Coach Lou Holtz in full. After 89 years on the field, he has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/beloved-notre-dame-football-coach-lou-holtz-dies-at-89">gone on</a> to his reward — and he also lives on, among us, in the lives he transformed, and in the country he served.
He was the greatest of men — a college football hall of famer, a devoted father, and a faithful Christian.
He was also one of my best friends. I had the opportunity to reflect upon his friendship, and his example, at his visitation and memorial in South Bend, Indiana this week. Seeing the men and women gathered there — the friends and family, and just as importantly the Americans who he never knew but knew him — it was impossible to miss the simple truth. Lou Holtz was a heroic man. It was a quiet heroism, a modest heroism, and a heroism he would have denied with all sincerity. But his life was one of heroism all the same.
Selfless service and a solid personal example, you see, can be heroic in their way. He possessed both in full.

Coach Holtz was a source of inspiration to me ever since we first met 33 years ago at the 1993 Cotton Bowl game, where Texas A&amp;M played Notre Dame, and I was the Cotton Bowl Queen. It was a cold, cold day out, but it turned out to be the beginning of a warm, lifelong friendship.
Coach Holtz famously said, “God did not put us on this earth to be ordinary.” And his extraordinary life proves that he lived up to those words better than most.
We could point to his many victories on the field, as the only college football coach in history to lead six different programs to bowl games and four different programs to final top 15 rankings.
But those victories are just part of the story — the fruits of a lifelong commitment to servant leadership.
In addition to serving as an officer in the United States Army Reserve, Coach Holtz was active in national politics for many years. Decades after we first met, we reunited when I was at the helm of the Texas Public Policy Foundation. As the years went on, we developed a bond over a shared vision for America that solidified under President Trump. Coach Holtz was an early supporter of the president, who awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2020 — an honor that was well deserved.
Coach Holtz was a great American, a great coach, a great man. But most important in the eyes of God: he was a good man. He was never content with merely speaking about the Gospel — he was intent on putting it into practice. His decades of charitable work, most recently through the Holtz’s Heroes Foundation, served communities in need and provided scholarships to former student-athletes facing financial, physical, or mental hardships.
In 2021, he helped me launch the America First Policy Institute, which he later told me was the most important team he would ever be a part of. Instead of kicking his feet up, he spent his final years coaching America back to greatness and inspired countless Americans along the way — including me. The last time I saw him, he was still working, still laboring, still leading for the causes he held dear — God and America.
Whether on the football field, on the civic field, or on the field of faith, Coach Holtz carried the ball and kept the flame of greatness alive. Although he’s no longer with us, his dedication to truth and goodness lives on in the lives of those he impacted. There are so many who will walk in the paths he set forth without knowing it was him who gave them the opening drive. But we who know, we who loved him, we will always remember.
Thank you, Coach, for your life, for your example, and for your faith. We won’t let you down.

Grammy Award-winning singer Billie Eilish is furious with Elon Musk, accusing him of not donating to organizations claiming they can solve world hunger, among other things.
The 23-year-old recording artist reposted several infographics put out by the activist group My Voice, My Choice on her Instagram page on Thursday. The group had said Musk is the world’s first trillionaire, which is not accurate.
These images list ways Musk could use his money for charity, including donating $40 billion a year to end world hunger by 2030 and paying between $1 and $2 billion a year to bring down the endangered species status of 10,433 animals. Another suggestion was that he donate $53.2 billion to “rebuild Gaza.”
In a final slide, Eilish called Musk a “f***ing pathetic p***y b*** coward” for not giving away more of his money to her preferred causes.
This isn’t the first time Eilish lashed out at celebrities who are wealthier than she is.
“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than kind of ever, especially in our country,” Eilish <a href="https://people.com/billie-eilish-calls-out-billionaires-in-room-with-mark-zuckerberg-11840118">said</a> during a speech at the Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards last month. “Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”

The internet came after Eilish for her naive view that throwing money at a problem makes it go away. Several people brought up that in 2021, Musk <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1454808104256737289" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offered to donate</a> $6 billion to the United Nations World Food Program if it would provide him with a detailed plan for solving world hunger.
Others accused her of hypocrisy, arguing that she demanded Musk give away his wealth while retaining substantial wealth herself. Eilish became the youngest member of the Forbes World’s 100 Highest-Paid Celebrities in 2019, earning an estimated $53 million as of 2020, <a href="https://www.the-independent.com/arts-entertainment/music/news/billie-eilish-net-worth-mark-zuckerberg-billionaires-b2856568.html">per</a> The Independent.
“He has done more to help humanity than Billie Eilish ever has,” one X user <a href="https://x.com/SNS_Anon/status/1989279284037353656">observed</a>. “If you genuinely think people’s money shouldn’t be in their pockets and should be redistributed, demonstrate that revolutionary concept by giving up yours first, liquidate your assets, donate your income, and live by the principles you’re demanding everyone else follow.”
“Elon has helped so many countries and communities across the globe with access to internet, information, medical help and transportation,” another social media user agreed. “She’s done nothing even remotely close to that, her music is so negative and her whole vibe is negative. What a crybaby.”

Prince Harry and his friend Prince Seeiso of Lesotho have announced that they’re resigning as patrons of their beloved charity Sentebale, a decision they both describe as “devastating.&#8221;
The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso established Sentebale in 2006 in memory of their late mothers. The charity <a href="https://sentebale.org/what-we-do/">provided</a> “comprehensive support for children and young people, including those living with HIV/AIDS, covering healthcare, critical life skills, education, advocacy, and climate resistance” in Lesotho and other areas of Africa.
Prince Harry established the charity to honor his mother, the late Princess Diana, who was also known for her efforts in helping the AIDS community in Africa.
In a joint statement, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso said, &#8220;What’s transpired is unthinkable. We are in shock that we have to do this, but we have a continued responsibility to Sentebale’s beneficiaries, so we will be sharing all of our concerns with the Charity Commission as to how this came about.&#8221;
&#8220;Nearly 20 years ago, we founded Sentebale in honor of our mothers. Sentebale means ‘forget-me-not’ in Sesotho, the local language of Lesotho, and it’s what we’ve always promised for the young people we&#8217;ve served through this charity. Today is no different,&#8221; the statement continued, per <a href="https://people.com/prince-harry-devastated-as-he-quits-african-charity-sentebale-founded-princess-diana-honor-11703464">People</a>.
&#8220;With heavy hearts, we have resigned from our roles as patrons of the organization until further notice, in support of and solidarity with the board of trustees who have had to do the same,&#8221; it said. &#8220;It is devastating that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation.&#8221;
The princes said in a statement, “These trustees acted in the best interest of the charity in asking the chair to step down while keeping the well-being of staff in mind. In turn, she sued the charity to remain in this voluntary position, further underscoring the broken relationship.&#8221;
Harry and Prince Seeiso thanked the trustees for their “service over the years” and said they’re “truly heartbroken they’ve had to follow through with this act.”
“Although we may no longer be patrons, we will always be its founders, and we will never forget what this charity is capable of achieving when it is in the right care,&#8221; the statement concluded.

A number of tax-deductible charities and financial service providers are helping fund groups linked to U.S.-designated terrorist organizations including Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a new report alleges.
Published by the Jerusalem-based <a href="https://ngo-monitor.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NGO Monitor</a>, the report accuses terrorist-linked groups of raising funds in the United States through tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations and through donor-advised financial service providers.
“The sharp rise in violent anti-Semitism in the wake of the October 7th massacre highlights the urgent need for greater vigilance in preventing the diversion of aid and NGO funding to terror and hate,” Professor Gerald M. Steinberg, Founder and President of NGO Monitor told The Daily Wire. “This includes systematically investigating and documenting the support that IRS-registered charities receive from and provide to individuals and organizations linked to designated terror groups or active in spreading hate propaganda.&#8221;
The report cites several NGOs tied to the PFLP and designated as terror groups by Israel, including the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), Al-Haq, Defense for Children International-Palestine (DCI-P), and Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR). NGO Monitor accuses Al Mezan of having members with ties to both Hamas and the PFLP.
The Foundation for Middle East Peace (FMEP), a 501(c)(3) based in Washington, D.C., claims on its website that <a href="https://fmep.org/our-grantees/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in 2025</a> it provided funds to Al Haq, Al Mezan, DCI-P, and PCHR. Its website does not state how much it has given, but according to <a href="https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/526055574/202442149349100604/full" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2023 IRS filings</a>, FMEP granted $10,000 to Al Mezan, and $58,000 to Al-Haq.
Open Society Foundations, founded by George Soros, provided $800,000 between 2020-2023 to Al Haq, $250,000 between 2023-2025 to Al Haq Europe, $170,000 to Al Mezan in 2023, and $450,000 to Al Mezan between 2021-2024.
Grassroots International has been <a href="https://grassrootsonline.org/palestine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">soliciting donations</a> for the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, which the group <a href="https://grassrootsonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Inside-Philanthropy-April-10-2024-Funding-in-Gaza-and-Haiti-Amid-Devastating-Violence.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has called</a> a “long-term partner,” according to NGO Monitor.
Other tax-deductible American charities that provided funds include the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) which granted $100,000 to DCI-P for 2020-2022 and Cultures of Resistance Network which has funded Al-Haq, DCI-P, the UAWC, and Al Mezan, according to NGO monitor.
A 2023 report from the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/12/02/metro/rockefeller-brothers-fund-funding-palestinian-terror-groups/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> that RBF shelled out millions since 2018 directly or indirectly to six anti-Israel organizations, some of which openly celebrated Hamas’s October 7 attack on civilians. In <a href="https://www.rbf.org/news/rbf-statement-grantmaking-israel-palestine" target="_blank" rel="noopener">response</a>, RBF rejected any claim that their “grantee organizations support, materially or ideologically, acts of terrorism.”
NGO Monitor’s report points out that the Alexandria, Virginia-based Charities Aid Foundation, which facilitated donor-advised grantmaking, lists DCI-P as a member of its “vetted network&#8221; of charitable organizations.
The report added that Al-Haq and the Hind Rajab Foundation — whose founder boasts his ties to Hezbollah — use the San Francisco-based Stripe Inc. to process donations.
The Hind Rajab Foundation, founded in Belgium, initiated legal proceedings to seek the arrests of IDF veterans, including American citizens, and has demanded the arrest of former President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Its founder, Dyab Abou Jahjah, in <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2003/03/01/world/the-saturday-profile-an-outspoken-arab-in-europe-demon-or-hero.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2003 claimed</a> he “joined the Hezbollah resistance against Israel,” <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20110608080952/http://www.mediamonitors.net/dyababoujahjah1.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called the</a> September 11, 2001 attacks “sweet revenge” and is reportedly on the U.S. no-fly list. A <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-841011" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jerusalem Post</a> report from last month reports that Jahjah has family and business links to actors designated as part of Hezbollah’s terror funding network.
Al Mezan’s director, Issam Younis, participated in a 2017 panel discussion alongside now-deceased Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar at an event that was also attended by leaders of other U.S.-designated terror organizations including Palestinian Islamic Jihad and PFLP. One of Al Mezan’s board members from 2010 to 2022 was Nafiz Al-Madhoun, the former Director-General of the Hamas-controlled Palestinian Legislative Council, according to NGO Monitor.
UAWC has been identified by a <a href="https://pdf.usaid.gov/pdf_docs/PNABY769.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">USAID audit</a> as the “agricultural arm” of the PFLP and a 2022 audit by the Dutch government <a href="https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerstukken/brieven_regering/detail?id=2022Z00093&amp;did=2022D00176" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that 34 individuals held politicians in both UAWC and PFLP between 2007-2020. Two of UAWC’s financial officers were arrested in 2019 for leading a PFLP terror cell that murdered a 17-year-old Israeli in a bombing.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense <a href="https://nbctf.mod.gov.il/en/Pages/211021EN.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">designated</a> Al-Haq as a terrorist entity in 2021 because it operated on behalf of the PFLP. In 2018, the group had its online credit card donations <a href="https://www.uklfi.com/credit-card-donations-to-terrorist-linked-ngos-terminated" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shut down</a> by Visa, Mastercard, and American Express because of its PFLP ties, reported NGO Monitor. The group&#8217;s director, Shawan Jabarin, has been identified as a leading PFLP member by the Israeli Supreme Court and has identified several PFLP events. He also was part of the 2017 panel alongside Sinwar and Younis.
PCHR’s founder and director, Raji Sourani, was imprisoned in 1979 for three years for being a member of the PFLP and denied entry to the United States in 2012, according to the report. He admitted his PFLP affiliation in a <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20181018125346/https:/video.alwatanvoice.com/view/2014/02/17/496986.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2014 speech</a> in Gaza where he said he was “proud” of the organization where he “fought in its ranks.”
DCI-P was designated as a terror entity by Israel in 2021, which claimed it operated on behalf of the PFLP. The group was reportedly cut off from Citibank, Arab Bank PLC, and the U.S.-based Global Giving crowdfunding because of its terror ties. Numerous members with PFLP ties have been employed and appointed as board members, according to NGO monitor.
Stripe, FMEP, Open Society Foundation, Grassroots International, RBF, and Cultures of Resistance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Conservative credit card company <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/by-conservatives-for-conservatives-new-credit-card-offers-alternative-to-americans-fed-up-with-woke-businesses" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coign</a> donated nearly $40,000 dollars to a Christian non-profit that has served over 350,000 meals to storm victims and first responders in North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. 
Coign recently presented <a href="https://mercychefs.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercy Chefs</a> a check for $39,535 at its Nashville community kitchen as part of the organization’s quarterly donations to conservative charities. Coign CEO Rob Collins told The Daily Wire that Mercy Chefs was chosen because of the work they have done in North Carolina. 
“We’re proud to partner with them, they’re doing great work,” he said, adding that the charity was continuing to provide meals to areas of Western North Carolina still reeling from the devastating flooding. 
Founded in 2006, Mercy Chefs provides meals to victims of natural disasters and the first responders and others volunteering in areas slammed by tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, or fires.

Coign, which operates a VISA-backed credit card, donates portions of its transaction fees to conservative organizations chosen each quarter by cardholders. The company has donated to a variety of causes in the past, including groups looking to reduce suicide among soldiers and the Alliance Defending Freedom. 
Jim Kirk, the executive director of development at Mercy Chefs, told The Daily Wire that the donations from Coign were helping its work across the country from California to North Carolina to Kentucky. 
“It&#8217;s been a busy year, and Coign’s customers have been an incredible blessing to people who have lost everything, only to receive hope and love in a hot, chef-prepared meal,” he said. “You&#8217;ve also fed first responders, teachers, volunteers, parents, and children.. people of all walks who needed a nutritious meal.”
“May you experience JOY in your giving, and for making such an amazing impact!” he added. 
Coign’s charitable contributions have dramatically increased since it was first founded back in 2022. Collins said that the total money given in the first quarter was around $5,000, while the most recent quarter was around $190,000.
He said there was a large demand for the card because of the misalignment between conservative customers and major corporations and that Coign was an effective product for &#8220;cultural change.&#8221; 
“It really does provide conservatives a strong alternative to get off the treadmills supporting corporate liberals who hate our way of life, hate our culture, hate our values, but still be able to buy stuff you need,&#8221; he said.

As the confetti settles following <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/super-bowl">Super Bowl LIX</a>, in which the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40 &#8211; 22, dashing their hopes for a historic three-peat, football fans are left wondering: What happens to all the pre-made apparel for the losing team?
Players don championship gear immediately after the Super Bowl and the NFC and AFC Championship <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nfl">games</a>, and fans can immediately purchase pre-made merchandise. This means manufacturers must produce the items promoting both teams as the victors in advance. Prior to 1997, the losing teams&#8217; stuff was trashed, but these days, the items are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/charity">donated</a> instead.
According to <a href="https://www.fastcompany.com/91017064/what-happens-to-the-losing-teams-championship-merch">Fast Company</a>, the nonprofit World Vision approached the NFL in 1997 and proposed collaborating to donate the losing team’s merchandise to people in need.
Those efforts were taken over by the Virginia-based nonprofit Good360 in 2015. They also teamed up with the MLB to take the losing team’s apparel and accessories following the World Series. 
&#8220;At Good360, we believe in the power of partnerships to create lasting change,&#8221; current CEO Cinira Baldi said. of the donations. &#8220;Whether it’s responsibly distributing apparel with the NFL, activating in areas impacted by natural disasters, or providing critical supplies to communities in need, our mission is to ensure that donated products serve a meaningful purpose. Together with our corporate and nonprofit partners, we are driving sustainability, meeting urgent needs, and building resilience for a better future.&#8221;
The organization&#8217;s former Chief Marketing Officer <a href="https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2022-02-11/the-super-bowl-t-shirt-economy">told</a> the Los Angeles Times in 2022 that only a few thousand items are donated from each championship event. The outlet noted that there are strict parameters for the donations so that would-be collectors can’t get their hands on the merch and resell it online.
The exec was vague about where the donations ended upm but did say they end up in countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and South America.
Despite these efforts, some of the items do find their way into the hands of collectors. For example, a T-shirt saying the Bengals were champions of 1989’s Super Bowl XXIII, which they lost to the San Francisco 49ers, was listed on eBay for $10,000.

The 44-year-old actress posted a video with “Parenthood” actress Joy Bryant urging people not to “send trash” when making donations. &#8220;This is Kristen and Joy coming at ya semi-live,&#8221; Bell said in the video she shared to Instagram. 
She continued, &#8220;So we went, we&#8217;re in LA and we went and volunteered yesterday at one of the donation centers and it was very cool to see everyone coming together but we noticed something that we kind of thought through and think we should share.&#8221;
Bryant added, &#8220;Yeah, people need a lot of things, including clothes and all kinds of things, but when we noticed that in the sorting of everything, we found stuff that [was] damaged or stained and people don&#8217;t need that.&#8221;

Bell asked that people donating items should wash and sort everything before giving it away. 
&#8220;If you&#8217;re donating, like, you know, old toys or anything, maybe make sure all the parts are there, wipe it down, so people that are coming to get items that their family needs, they don&#8217;t feel like they&#8217;re picking up something dirty or used,&#8221; Bell suggested.

Commenters on social media were divided, with many expressing outrage that Bell was judging the items people chose to donate.
&#8220;News flash most of us wear items that are torn or dirty. We can&#8217;t afford clothes with the price of groceries and gas and everything else,&#8221; one person wrote. 
&#8220;I totally get that and don&#8217;t think people should donate stained or ripped clothes&#8230;but also as I was going through my closet I thought if I was in that situation I would wear semi-old sneakers or old jeans (as long as washed!) especially to get through these first horrible weeks. I would wear a random mickey mouse tee. If I had nothing and my kids had nothing I wouldn&#8217;t care about an older random hoodie. Just my 2 cents,&#8221; another person agreed.

The wildfires, which broke out Tuesday and are still not contained, have caused billions of dollars in damage to residences and businesses in Southern California. More than 180,000 people have been evacuated from their homes, and many have no homes to return to.

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">Do They Know It’s Christmas</a>?” co-writer Bob Geldof is still fully on board with the song he helped create for charity with Band Aid, and doesn’t agree with criticisms he’s been hearing lately, including from performer Ed Sheeran.
The song was originally released in 1984 and has had several remakes since then, including one Sheeran collaborated on in 2014. It has raised millions of dollars for charity over the years.
The latest version called Band Aid 40, which commemorates four decades since its debut, uses previous recordings including those of Bono and Sheeran. This “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” is getting backlash, however, for allegedly promoting stereotypes about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/africa">African culture</a>.
Last week, Sheeran said on social media that Band Aid never asked permission to use his vocals in the new version and that if they had, he “would have respectfully declined.&#8221;
“A decade on and my understanding of the narrative associated with this has changed, eloquently explained by @fuseodg. This is just my personal stance, I’m hoping it’s a forward-looking one. Love to all,&#8221; the British musician <a href="https://people.com/ed-sheeran-claims-band-aid-using-vocals-without-permission-8747178">shared</a> to Instagram Stories.
The explanation he referenced came from British-Ghanaian musician Fuse ODG who said he turned down Band Aid 30. He wrote on Stories: &#8220;While they may generate sympathy and donations, they perpetuate damaging stereotypes that stifle Africa&#8217;s economic growth, tourism, and investment, ultimately costing the continent trillions and destroying its dignity, pride and identity.&#8221;
Now Geldof is responding to Sheeran’s comments and overall criticism of the song. The Irish songwriter told <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/culture/music/article/bob-geldof-band-aid-at-40-ed-sheeran-controversy-nmcfm2gql">The Sunday Times</a> that reality is more important than an “abstract wealthy-world argument.”
“This little pop song has kept millions of people alive,” he told the outlet of the song that helped raise funds for Africans following a famine. “Why would Band Aid scrap feeding thousands of children dependent on us for a meal?”
“Why not keep doing that? Because of an abstract wealthy-world argument, regardless of its legitimacy?” Geldof continued.

“No abstract theory, regardless of how sincerely held, should impede or distract from that hideous, concrete real-world reality,” he went on. “There are 600 million hungry people in the world — 300 million are in Africa. We wish it were other, but it is not. We can help some of them. That’s what we will continue to do.&#8221;
“And I can guarantee your personal action here will result in a kid sleeping warmer, fed that night. This is one issue in which you have power,” he said. “You get to tilt the world a fraction — and I know: ‘Here is f***ing Geldof banging on.’ But the instrument of this control, as corny as it may sound, is this thing — this OK tune.”
The song’s co-writer Midge Ure told The Sunday Times that even though he believes it’s “not a great song,” he still sees the value.
“There are many keyboard warriors out there, and in the time it takes them to write a scathing remark some child has died. They talk while we actually do something,” Ure told the outlet. “All those stars turned up on that Sunday morning with hangovers, but were there for a reason. Although it’s also possible that they were just scared of Bob.”

Despite these false rumors, there are always companies and individuals quietly doing good work and proving that pro-life really means pro-life, from conception to natural death. <a href="https://everylife.com/">EveryLife</a>, a company selling premium diapers, wipes, and apparel, proved that they truly believe in helping people when they need it most. The Florida-based brand recently donated more than 1 million diapers and 1.3 million wipes to families affected by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hurricane-helene">Hurricane Helene</a> in North Carolina and Hurricane Milton in Florida.
“It was just phenomenal to see so many organizations… Christians, conservatives stepping up and helping these families that really needed [help] desperately after the devastating hurricanes,” brand co-founder and president Sarah Gabel Seifert told The Daily Wire during a phone interview.
EveryLife partnered with Freedom House, City Serve, Convoy of Hope, Operation Airdrop, and many others to make deliveries of diapers and wipes via semi-truck, helicopter, ATV, and horseback as access to affected areas remained a challenge. EveryLife also worked closely with local churches, fire rescue teams, and pregnancy resource centers to get the requested supplies to families in need.
They did this work through their “<a href="https://everylife.com/products/buy-for-a-cause?selling_plan=5498536216">Buy For a Cause</a>” program, which gives customers a way to directly help by donating diapers and wipes to those in times of need. The hurricane relief campaign was only supposed to last for three days. But due to overwhelming response, EveryLife kept the donations going from October 1 until the 17th.

“The testimonies that rolled in from the families on the ground, as well as these organizations that we were able to work with – it’s tearjerking, the amount of impact we were able to have in such a short amount of time,” Seifert said.
“One of our foundational values as a company is that we’re rooted in faith and I think that really inspires a lot of what we do. My heart was breaking for God’s people and we really couldn’t sit on the sidelines and watch it happen,” she continued. “Obviously we couldn’t do it all, but we knew that we could at least provide some of the products that so many of these families needed.”
Seifert called it “an honor and a blessing” to be able to contribute to the hurricane relief effort.
Diapers may not be top of mind when thinking about how to use spending power to combat liberal companies. But surprisingly, all the major diaper brands &#8212; including Pampers, Huggies, Hello Bello, Honest, and Coterie &#8212; support abortion, either with company messaging or through financial contributions.
“They’re putting their money towards the very thing that’s against their customer. It doesn’t make sense,” Seifert said.
“We believe every child is a gift from God deserving love, protection, and celebration,” she said of their company values, mentioning that “many people are coming for their values,” but are staying for a product that’s superior in quality to the mass marketed brands.
“I feel like we’re just getting started,” Seifert said of the brand’s mission, which includes continuing to give back to the community through their ongoing &#8220;<a href="https://everylife.com/products/buy-for-a-cause?selling_plan=5498536216">Buy For a Cause</a>&#8221; program. The Catholic fundraiser features the nominees of both of America&#8217;s two major political parties who engage in some self-deprecating humor and some light roasting of their opponent.
The Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner this year is on October 17 and is already sold out with 1,500 guests expected to attend the ballroom gala in Midtown Manhattan.
Harris&#8217; campaign told CNN that she would rather be on the campaign trail than attend the event, becoming the first presidential candidate to skip it in years. In 2020, both Trump and then-Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden did not attend because of the pandemic, but they both made video statements for the event.
In 2016, Trump took the roasting to a slightly higher level than had been previously featured at the event as he repeatedly went after then-Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for her long history of political corruption.

Harris instead accepted a debate offer against Trump on CNN in late October, even though she previously rejected additional debate offers from Trump, and Trump subsequently said that there would be no more debates.

“Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate,” they added.
Trump fired back at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Saturday, saying that it was too late to do another, especially after she rejected additional debate offers from Trump in the past.
“She’s done one debate. I’ve done two. It’s too late to do another. I’d love to, in many ways, but it’s too late. The voting is cast,” Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harris-desperate-to-schedule-second-debate-after-rejecting-trumps-offer-for-rematch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, adding: “She’s had her chance to do it with Fox. You know, Fox invited us on, and I waited and waited, and they turned it down. They turned it down, but now she wants to do a debate right before the election with CNN because she’s losing badly.”
Trump agreed last month to a Fox News debate on September 4, which Harris rejected; and an NBC News debate on September 25, which Harris never accepted; in addition to the September 10 debate that they both agreed to on ABC News.
