Chinese Communist secret police have infiltrated the United States. Working through so-called “nonprofits” with pedestrian-sounding names, these operators have set up spy nests and secret police stations, subverting our Republic while exporting Chinese Communist Party (CCP) totalitarianism to American shores.
<a href="https://dailycaller.com/2024/07/17/exclusive-red-state-ag-subpoenas-local-chinese-service-center-linked-to-communist-party-intel-arm/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Investigative reporting</a> has exposed several of these operations, known as “Overseas Chinese Service Centers (OCSCs), in seven American cities: Charlotte, Omaha, Houston, San Francisco, St. Paul, and St. Louis. Working through these organizations, the CCP can extend its intelligence gathering, <a href="https://www.uscc.gov/sites/default/files/Research/China%27s%20Overseas%20United%20Front%20Work%20-%20Background%20and%20Implications%20for%20US_final_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">influence operations</a> and transnational repression activity into virtually any community. 
In St. Louis, Missouri State Attorney General Andrew Bailey has reacted decisively. He launched a legal investigation into the OCSC after finding that it violated Missouri law by <a href="https://ago.mo.gov/attorney-general-bailey-expands-investigation-into-missouri-non-profit-over-alleged-ties-to-peoples-republic-of-china/#:~:text=With%20the%20CID%20issued%20today,organized%20under%20Missouri%20state%20law." target="_blank" rel="noopener">engaging in</a> “deception, fraud, false promises, misrepresentation, unfair practices, and/or the concealment, suppression, or omission of material facts in connection with the solicitation of charitable funds.”
Bailey’s leadership comes at a critical juncture. National security experts have been ringing alarm bells over the CCP&#8217;s vast network of subversive operations against the United States in the American heartland. The OCSCs are a key part of that network.
OCSCs assume the mantle of nonprofit organizations that, on the surface, promote Chinese culture and assist Chinese citizens living abroad. But their strings are pulled by the <a href="https://selectcommitteeontheccp.house.gov/media/press-releases/select-committee-unveils-ccp-influence-memo-united-front-101" target="_blank" rel="noopener">United Front Work Department</a> (UFWD), an <a href="https://www.uscc.gov/sites/default/files/annual_reports/2016%20Annual%20Report%20to%20Congress.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">intelligence service</a> which answers directly to the CCP’s Central Committee in Beijing. In addition to helping steal American intellectual property, United Front operations are heavily engaged in transnational repression.
In April 2023, two men were <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/two-arrested-operating-illegal-overseas-police-station-chinese-government" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charged</a> by the Department of Justice for running a secret police station in New York City under the direction of China’s Ministry of Public Security (MPS). The case shines a light on how Communist Party agents operate on U.S. soil.
All around <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/10/08/chinese-police-station-spies-on-dissenters-linked-to-shady-us-charity/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the world,</a> China’s overseas police stations monitor, harass and intimidate dissidents. In some cases, they’ve facilitated the <a href="https://jamestown.org/program/the-long-arm-of-the-lawless-the-prcs-overseas-police-stations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">extra-judicial kidnapping</a> of China’s enemies to face the Peoples Republic of China’s <a href="https://www.economist.com/china/2019/10/31/justice-in-china-is-notoriously-harsh-but-reforms-are-afoot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notorious legal system</a>.
One of the New York defendants, <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/two-arrested-operating-illegal-overseas-police-station-chinese-government" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lu Jianwang,</a> organized counter-protests against the Falun Gong on behalf of the MPS during President Xi Jinping’s 2015 visit to Washington, D.C. In 2018, Lu helped pressure a fugitive to return to China by threatening the victim and their family. In 2022, an MPS official tapped Lu to help track down a pro-democracy dissident thought to be living in California.
CCP infiltration extends far beyond secret police stations and the OCSCs. Attorney General Bailey must launch a similar investigation into another CCP operation in Missouri masquerading as a nonprofit: the <a href="https://usheartlandchina.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">U.S. Heartland China Association</a> (USHCA). When the State Department launched its <a href="https://www.justice.gov/archives/nsd/information-about-department-justice-s-china-initiative-and-compilation-china-related" target="_blank" rel="noopener">China Initiative</a> to counter Chinese economic espionage and protect critical U.S. infrastructure, the CCP became alarmed at its effectiveness. In response, the USHCA co-hosted an <a href="https://ucausa.org/ucatalks-nov-3-2021-event-return-of-mccarthyism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">event</a> in 2021, calling the initiative as the “return of McCarthyism.” USHCA’s manipulation scheme worked. Just months later, the Biden administration <a href="https://www.npr.org/2022/02/23/1082593735/justice-department-china-initiative" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discontinued</a> the China Initiative amid alleged concern that it was fueling “intolerance and bias against Asian Americans.”
Organizations like the USHCA work hand-in-glove with the Beijing-based Chinese Peoples’ Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), which according to the <a href="https://2017-2021.state.gov/designation-of-the-national-association-for-chinas-peaceful-unification-nacpu-as-a-foreign-mission-of-the-prc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">U.S. Department of State</a>, actively seeks to “malignly influence state and local leaders to promote the PRC’s global agenda,” and is the party organ “tasked with co-opting and neutralizing threats to the party’s rule and spreading its influence and propaganda overseas.”

While Attorney General Bailey is doing what he can within his legal authority to target illegal CCP operations in Missouri, state legislatures around the country must give their attorneys general more tools to deal with this threat. They should start by passing state-level Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) laws that close federal FARA loopholes and help expose the operations of foreign adversaries within the United States. State legislatures should also enact legislation that would enable law enforcement to crack down on transnational repression operations. And, of course, attorneys general must use these tools to take action against <a href="https://apnews.com/general-news-95025c52081b9722e5afca23fe0a43b9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">malign influence</a> operations in their respective states.
The myth that China is interested in becoming more friendly and more democratic is falling apart, and we can take some comfort in that. But the CCP is relentless, and the federal government cannot face it down alone. Protecting our homeland from the CCP will demand focus, commitment, and action by our state and local government officials.

Lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee led by Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-comer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Comer</a> (R-KY) announced Friday that they are investigating Minnesota Democratic governor and vice presidential candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tim-walz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tim Walz</a> over his “extensive” ties to entities linked to the Chinese Communist Party. 
In a <a href="https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Letter-to-Director-Wray-08162024.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Comer requested that the agency produce documents on any communications or documents it may have pertaining to Walz’s academic and business ties to China. Walz&#8217;s connections to China have come under increasing scrutiny since Vice President Kamala Harris selected him to run alongside her. 
“It has come to the Committee’s attention that Governor Walz has longstanding connections to CCP-connected entities and officials that make him susceptible to the Party’s strategy of elite capture, which seeks to co-opt influential figures in elite political, cultural, and academic circles to influence the United States to the benefit of the communist regime and the detriment of Americans,” Comer wrote. 
Comer told Wray that “the Committee seeks information about the Chinese entities and officials Governor Walz has engaged and partnered with, as well as any warnings or advice the FBI may have given to Governor Walz about U.S. political figures being targeted by or recruited for CCP influence operations.&#8221;
The letter cited reporting that estimated Walz has visited China at least 30 times, stretching back to a trip he took with Alliance High School students back in the 1980s funded by the Chinese government. Additionally, Comer noted that Walz was a fellow at China’s Macao Polytechnic University while a member of Congress. The university says it promotes “devotion to and love for the motherland.”

Comer asked that Wray provide the committee with any communication or document in the FBI’s possession regarding over a dozen entities potentially linked to Walz. The entities include China’s Ministry of Public Security, Macao Polytechnic University, the National Association for China’s Peaceful Unification, the U.S. China People’s Friendship Association, and the United States China Heartland Association.
Comer also asked Wray if the FBI had ever intervened to brief Walz on interactions with Chinese government officials or CCP-linked entities.

The Harris-Walz campaign has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/11/us/tim-walz-china.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed</a> back on criticism from Republicans over his ties to China. 
“Throughout his career, Governor Walz has stood up to the CCP, fought for human rights and democracy, and always put American jobs and manufacturing first,” spokesman James Singer said. “Vice President Harris and Governor Walz will ensure we win the competition with China, and will always stand up for our values and interests in the face of China’s threats.”
Comer&#8217;s letter to Wray comes after Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/13/us-news/rep-jim-banks-probes-tim-walzs-obvious-security-risk-in-dozen-trips-to-china-while-serving-in-national-guard/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pressed</a> the Pentagon on Tuesday for answers on Walz&#8217;s National Guard experience and trips to China.

A non-profit group that has allegedly regularly taken part in pro-Hamas protests and encouraged its members to &#8220;support our students so that the encampments can go for as long as they can” has received more than $12 million from the investment firm Goldman Sachs&#8217; charitable arm.
The People’s Forum, which calls itself “a movement incubator for working class and marginalized communities,” has “been a mainstay at anti-Israel protests since Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack on the Jewish state,” The Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/campus/anti-israel-group-encouraged-columbia-protesters-to-recreate-the-summer-of-2020-hours-before-students-stormed-a-building/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, noting that the group “organized a Times Square protest where attendees celebrated Hamas and waved posters with anti-Semitic slogans and imagery” the day after the horrific Hamas massacre of more than 1200 people in Israel on October 7.
On Monday, the group, which included more than 100 “masked and keffiyeh-clad activists,” according to the Beacon, waited until demonstrators at Columbia University could arrive. Once they arrived, People’s Forum executive director Manolo De Los Santos lauded them for “decid[ing] that resistance is more important than negotiations” and lashed out at “Zionist” Columbia administrators who &#8220;want to be more like their masters in Israel,” the Free Beacon, which viewed the meeting on Zoom, reported.
The Free Beacon surmised that the source of the funding from Goldman Sachs “is likely Neville Roy Singham, a communist who has ‘long admired Maoism,’ lives in China, and is married to Jodie Evans, the leader of the hard-left group Code Pink. Singham “reportedly helps finance the Chinese Communist Party’s ‘propaganda worldwide,’ according to the New York Times,” the Free Beacon added.

The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/05/world/europe/neville-roy-singham-china-propaganda.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in August 2023 that a group called No Cold War is “part of a lavishly funded influence campaign that defends China and pushes its propaganda. At the center is a charismatic American millionaire, Neville Roy Singham, who is known as a socialist benefactor of far-left causes. What is less known, and is hidden amid a tangle of nonprofit groups and shell companies, is that Mr. Singham works closely with the Chinese government media machine and is financing its propaganda worldwide.”
“As with any donor advised fund, the prior donation was made with the client’s money, at the client’s direction,” a Goldman Sachs spokesman advised the Free Beacon, adding, “This was not firm money.”
“The IRS’s charity guidelines state that groups may lose their charity status if they engage in ‘planned activities that violate laws’ or ‘induce the commission of crime,’” the Free Beacon pointed out.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday called on his administration to consider tripling the tariff on Chinese steel, reminiscent of the trade policy of his predecessor and chief rival in 2024, former President Donald Trump.
Biden spoke at United Steelworkers headquarters in Pittsburgh, pitching union members on stricter trade policy on China to protect American jobs. During his address, Biden called on United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai to consider tripling the tariff on Chinese steel, which currently averages 7.5%, according to <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2024/04/17/president-biden-moves-to-triple-tariffs-on-chinese-steel-and-aluminum/73346915007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">USA Today</a>.
The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/biden-calls-for-steep-hike-to-tariff-on-chinese-steel-dd131264">reported</a> that the increase &#8220;would be in addition to a separate 25% tariff on steel and a 10% duty on aluminum imposed under the Trump administration.&#8221;
Biden has borrowed Trump’s strategy to confront China after criticizing it during the 2020 campaign. In 2019, Biden <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2019/07/11/joe-biden-slams-trump-china-trade-war-in-foreign-policy-speech.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a> that Trump’s trade policy regarding China has delivered negative results for Americans.
“President Trump may think he&#8217;s being tough on China. All that he&#8217;s delivered as a consequence of that is American farmers, manufacturers and consumers losing and paying more,” Biden said during a speech in New York. “His economic decision-making is so shortsighted and as shortsighted as the rest of his foreign policy.”
While Biden said the U.S. needed to “get tough” on China, the then-candidate argued that the best way forward would be to strengthen ties with the Communist-run country.
“China can&#8217;t afford to ignore half the global economy if we&#8217;re united. That gives us substantial leverage to shape the future rules of the road on everything from the environment to labor to trade to technology to transparency,” Biden said.
Biden appeared to walk back that campaign stance on Wednesday, the reversal coming as Trump has sought to make inroads with staunchly pro-Democrat unions.

The Teamsters union, a reliable source of support for Democrats, <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2024/02/21/teamsters-trump-biden-union/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gave</a> $45,000 to the Republican National Committee through the union’s political action committee in February. The donation is the maximum amount the PAC can give.
The donation itself isn’t as significant as what it could represent for the future of the union’s support. Teamsters’ political committee donated the money after Trump <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-teamsters-union-washington-0689d1d586a9b0760610ae619086691f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">met</a> with the union’s executive board in what the former president described as “a very productive meeting.”
Biden’s Wednesday speech also comes as steel industry labor leaders have protested against a potential sale of U.S. Steel to Japanese-based Nippon Steel Corporation. The Biden Department of Justice last week <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/10/doj-opens-formal-investigation-us-steel-takeover-00151615" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> an antitrust investigation into the sale, a move that could have negative impacts on the United States’ relationship with Japan.

Joe Biden, or as he’s sometimes called &#8220;The Big Guy,&#8221; is, of course, the rhododendron currently running the free world on behalf of the Chinese, which is only fair since they&#8217;ve paid him a bundle in bribes. His Director of National Intelligence is Avril Haines, whose pronouns are “wang tsi co mao soy fang fang chu” and who served under CIA Director John Brennan, a communist, when the president was Barack Obama, an anti-American globalist. 
But not to worry, during her confirmation hearing, DNI Fang Fang reassured congress there were only some areas where she wanted to co-operate with the Chinese, like in collecting The Big Guy’s money and depositing it in one of his twenty shell companies so he has plausible deniability while he’s handing our border to Mexican cartels, who kill Americans with fentanyl, then launder their profits with the Chinese mafia inside the U.S.
 What was I talking about? Oh, yeah.
According to The Daily Wire’s crack investigative reporter Spencer Crack, DNI Fang Fang’s office puts out a newsletter called The Dive — DIVE — which guides the FBI, CIA and NSA on matters of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion — DEI — so that our intelligence officers can better keep America free for the untraceable banking of Chinese bribes.

Now, the Daily Wire’s crack reporter Crack has also obtained secret files that describe a real-life incident in which DNI’s DEI DIVE helped CIA, FBI and NSA perform their duties.
Recently one of our top CIA Agents, Wong Fu Chi, received a warning that a young Iranian man was about to blow himself up on Wall Street while shouting &#8220;Allahu Akbar!&#8221;, thereby potentially damaging our banking system and preventing President Big Guy from collecting his money from China and secreting it in one of his twenty shell companies. Though it was the dead of night, Agent Wong quickly called DNI Fang Fang where she was sleeping at Congressman Eric Swalwell’s house to report that The Big Guy’s cash was facing a jihadist threat. DNI Fang Fang immediately dropped her riding crop, leapt out of bed and instructed Agent Wong that he should re-file his report after first removing the word “jihadist” which might offend some Muslim-Americans. Dutifully starting over, Agent Wong then said, “A young man from a foreign nation that intends to destroy the world in order to hasten the arrival of the Twelfth Imam or, sorry, I should just say the Twelfth Non-denominational Clergyman named Mohammed al-Mahdi or maybe just Bob al-Mahdi or let’s just call him Pastor Bob…” Unfortunately, at this point, Agent Wong’s report was interrupted by a shout of &#8220;Allahu Akbar!&#8221; followed by a tremendous explosion.
In another helpful edition of the DNI’s DEI DIVE to FBI, CIA and NSA, the newsletter tells the touching story of an American intelligence officer who says — and as God is my witness this is a real quote from the DNI newsletter: “I am an intelligence officer, and I am a man who likes to wear women’s clothes sometimes. My gender identity and expression make me a better intelligence officer.”
The officer goes on to explain that cross-dressing not only makes his intelligence work more incisive but also more becoming in a pink chiffon mini sundress with a naughty but nice sweetheart neckline that’s simply perfect for reporting on young foreign-born males who want to hasten the coming of the twelfth non-denominational clergyman Pastor Bob…  But at this point, the article is interrupted by a shout of &#8220;Allahu Akbar!&#8221; followed by a tremendous explosion.
So, as you can see, we can all rest easy at night knowing that Congressman Swalwell’s mistress DNI Fang Fang has a cross-dressing Communist CIA Agent keeping watch to make sure no one uses offensive language while President Big Guy is being paid by China with the money they make laundering the profits Mexican gangsters collect for killing Americans.

China is the main driver behind fentanyl being smuggled into the United States by Mexican drug cartels, according to investigative journalist and author Peter Schweizer.
Schweizer, author of “Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans,” discussed the crisis on “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/fentanyl-america-s-silent-epidemic" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fentanyl: America’s Silent Epidemic</a>,” part of a DailyWire+ series by Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro on The Divided States of Biden. The author said the fentanyl trade that contributes to tens of thousands of American deaths every year begins in China. 
“They’re the senior partner. The drug cartels are really the junior partner in the fentanyl trade,” Schweizer told Shapiro, speaking of the Chinese regime led by President Xi Jinping.
Ninety percent of fentanyl precursor chemicals shipped from China to Mexico arrive via Mexico’s Port of Manzanillo. The port is run by a Chinese company, according to Schweizer. From the port, the chemicals are taken to a town in northern Mexico close to the U.S. border. About 2,000 Chinese workers work in cartel labs to craft the precursor chemicals into fentanyl and then the fentanyl into pills resembling common drugs such as Vicodin or Adderall.
“Now the drug cartels want to distribute their product in the United States. What do they do? They use Chinese apps. They use Chinese communications devices because they know that China will not share that information with U.S. law enforcement,” Schweizer said.
Money from the drug trade is then laundered through the Chinese financial system.
“The Mexican drug cartels now launder their money in Chinese state-owned banks, and, according to our government, they use Chinese students in the United States on education visas to do this,” Schweizer said.

China will continue to fuel the fentanyl trade in the United States until U.S. political leadership decides to make China feel real consequences from participating in it, according to Schweizer.
“We need to start looking at punitive actions we can take to damage them. I’m generally a free trade guy, but do you want to have free trade with somebody who is poisoning your citizens in such a systematic way? I don’t think so,” he said. “We’ve got to get tough and we’ve got to make clear: you are going to suffer consequences and real damage until you stop doing this to our people.”

On Sunday, House Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) offered a defense of the bill <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-passes-bill-that-could-lead-to-u-s-ban-on-tiktok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> by the lower chamber last week that could lead to a U.S. ban on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> unless its Chinese-based parent company, ByteDance, divests in the popular social media app.
&#8220;This Week&#8221; anchor Martha Raddatz asked Turner about the legislation on ABC News, noting that his support for the bill is one area in which he has broken with former President Donald Trump. &#8220;That bill could potentially ban TikTok. You say it’s a national security concern,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I know you had that classified briefing. What can you tell us to make it more clear to Americans why this is a problem?&#8221;

Turner replied, &#8220;We have to first start with, that China is a country that’s not like us. It’s an authoritarian regime that has self-identified as an adversary to the United States. It has banned Twitter. It has banned Facebook. It has banned YouTube in China.&#8221;
He added, &#8220;It understands the power of social media and social media apps. It certainly seeks in a number of illegal ways to obtain the data of Americans that it can use as part of its perpetration of this greater surveillance society that it uses to control its own population.&#8221;
When Chinese President Xi Jinping stood next to President Vladimir Putin in Russia, Turner continued, &#8220;he openly said it to the world what his intentions were. He said that we, the two of them, are going to bring about change that hasn’t happened in 100 years. That’s the battle between authoritarianism and democracy and that’s certainly what we’re seeing in China’s — both economic, its propaganda and certainly its military buildup that is part of its self-declaration as an adversary of the United States.&#8221;
Raddatz asked the congressman if there is &#8220;recent&#8221; evidence showing that TikTok is sending &#8220;significant&#8221; amounts of data about Americans to the Chinese government.
&#8220;What you see is a structural relationship for which there is not divisions, and there are great concerns about the individuals&#8217; privacy and issues of data between TikTok and the communist Chinese party,&#8221; Turner replied.
&#8220;But what you have even more importantly here is that this is a propaganda tool, these algorithms, this influencing through social apps, being in the hands of a self-declared adversary of the United States, one that has&#8230;banned Twitter, banned Facebook and banned YouTube, understands the use of these tools to be able to manipulate a society, and that’s certainly is one the greatest concerns that we have,&#8221; he said.
The Senate is up next in considering the legislation, which demands ByteDance sell TikTok within 180 days of enactment or risk having the app face a clampdown in the United States. If it were to pass in the upper chamber too, President Joe Biden has <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/biden-tiktok-ban-bill/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he would sign the bill into law.
Raddatz closed out the interview by noting, &#8220;You had a lot of TikTokkers up on the Hill this week who—and TikTok apparently supports a minimum of 224,000 jobs in this country.&#8221; She then asked Turner what he would say to Americans who might lose their livelihood.

They have obviously undertaken a livelihood that is communicating to people through social apps and social media, and this is not a ban on TikTok as you know. This is actually a piece of legislation that requires that the Chinese ownership of TikTok be divested so that we would sever that relationship between Chinese ownership, the Chinese government, the Chinese communist party that is of such troubling concerns,&#8221; he replied.
&#8220;And, you know, India has previously banned TikTok over the exact same concerns. These are concerns that as you look at what China is doing around the world, their propagation of a surveillance society, their even illegal means in which they’re acquiring data on Americans and people around the world, their use of propaganda, their own banning of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube because of their concerns of the voices of democracy being heard, you can see what a great concern this is to our country.&#8221;

Top Democrat and Republican senators warned over the weekend that TikTok, the social media app <a href="https://www.risch.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2023/8/tiktok-china-s-influence-is-right-at-our-fingertips">allegedly</a> controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, is &#8220;the most powerful propaganda tool&#8221; that officials have ever seen.
The remarks from Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) and Ranking Member Marco Rubio (R-FL) on CBS News&#8217;s &#8220;Face the Nation&#8221; come as the U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on a bill this week that would force ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, to divest its ownership in the company or it will be banned in the U.S.
Warner slammed President Joe Biden&#8217;s presidential campaign for joining TikTok, saying it sent &#8220;a pretty darn mixed message.&#8221;
Warner warned that TikTok poses a threat to the U.S. by collecting Americans&#8217; data and manipulating what they see to turn them against each other.
&#8220;If you don&#8217;t think the Chinese Communist Party can twist that algorithm to make it the news that they see reflective of their views, then I don&#8217;t think you appreciate the nature of the threat,&#8221; Warner said. &#8220;Would the United States ever allow China to buy CBS? I don&#8217;t think they would. And we might have slightly different ways on how we go at this, but we think this is a national security issue.&#8221;
Rubio said people get so hooked on TikTok because its algorithm has a powerful &#8220;recommender engine, which is one of the best in the world.&#8221;
&#8220;That is owned by ByteDance. Under Chinese law, ByteDance must own it,&#8221; Rubio said. &#8220;And the only way that that recommender engine works is if they have access to the data. So it doesn&#8217;t matter who you sell TikTok to, where they&#8217;re headquartered, doesn&#8217;t even matter where they stored the data. As long as ByteDance engineers in China have access to the algorithm — have access to that data — control the algorithm, they have to have access to American data to make it work. And that&#8217;s what we need to confront. That&#8217;s the reality here.&#8221;

Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) raised the alarm over the surge of 18,000 Chinese nationals across America’s southern border during the fiscal year in a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
The letter highlights the “significant threat” to America’s national security posed by the increasing number of Chinese nationals entering the United States.

“July set the record for nationwide encounters with Chinese nationals with just over 6,100. 94.8 percent of Chinese national encounters in FY23 have been single adults,” the letter reads. “This trend poses a significant threat to our national security and warrants immediate attention and action from the Department of Homeland Security.”
Sen. Marshall’s attempts to reign in the border crisis come as encounters at the border <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/daily-border-numbers-near-all-time-high" target="_blank" rel="noopener">near all-time highs</a> and major cities struggle to manage the influx.
The <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/migrant-border-crossings-fiscal-year-2022-topped-276-million-breaking-rcna53517" target="_blank" rel="noopener">record-high increases</a> in illegal immigration under the Biden administration have strained major cities like Chicago and New York, which have struggled to house foreign nationals. Chicago passed a measure to provide <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chicago-city-council-approves-51-million-to-fund-illegal-immigrant-housing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$51 million</a> in funding to house and feed migrants, while <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/50-new-york-city-places-of-worship-will-house-foreign-nationals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">50 places of worship</a> in New York City are now being used to accommodate foreign nationals.
In the letter, Marshall goes on to note that “it is our understanding that not a single one of these individuals encountered has been detained for any length of time but rather benefitted from this administration’s policy of catch and release. CBP is releasing busloads of these individuals into the U.S. interior.”
“Chinese nationals crossing the border may include individuals who could engage in espionage activities or cyber-attacks against our critical infrastructure, government agencies, or private sector entities,” Sen. Marshall’s letter warns. “There have been numerous documented instances of Chinese nationals, at the direction of the CCP, engaging in espionage, stealing military and economic secrets.”
Marshall goes on to present a list of questions to Mayorkas, including “Has CBP identified any Chinese nationals apprehended at the border who are on the Terrorist Screening Database?” as well as “Has CBP identified any instances of Chinese nationals apprehended at the border being suspected of intending to engage in foreign espionage?”
Estimates have found that illegal immigration costs United States taxpayers approximately <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/taxpayers-shell-out-151-billion-each-year-due-to-illegal-immigration-analysis-says">$151 billion</a> every year, with a recent report from Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee finding that illegal immigration places <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-immigration-costs-hospitals-billions-in-unpaid-bills-house-gop-report-finds">significant financial strain</a> on the American medical system.
There’s also been a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/border-patrol-records-1000-increase-in-illegal-immigration-from-china-afghanistan">1,000% increase</a> in illegal immigration from a number of different countries, including China, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and the Dominican Republic, among others.
The spike has also enabled masses of illegal aliens to settle and buy land within the United States. A recent investigation from The Daily Wire highlighted <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/inside-colony-ridge-the-fastest-growing-development-in-the-u-s-is-a-magnet-for-illegal-immigrants">Colony Ridge</a>, a development north of Houston that has become a hub for thousands of illegal aliens. Many also fear that it has become a strategic center for Mexican cartels.
The letter comes days after Sen. Marshall <a href="https://www.marshall.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/sen-marshall-supports-secure-the-border-act/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cosponsored</a> the Secure the Border Act, which would “resume construction on the wall, tighten asylum standards, criminalize visa overstays, increase the number of Border Patrol Agents.”
The legislation would also defund non-governmental organizations that receive taxpayer dollars to “traffic illegal aliens throughout the heartland,” and prohibit the DHS from using the Customs and Border Patrol One Application, which facilitates immigration.
Meanwhile, multiple public opinion surveys indicate that voters disapprove of Biden’s handling of the border. One <a href="https://static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2023/06/Fox_June-23-26-2023_Complete_National_Topline_June-29-Release.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News poll</a>, which surveyed more than 1,000 registered voters in late June, found that 62% of respondents disapproved of Biden’s handling of the border, while only 35% approve.
Marshall also commented on the human cost of the border crisis, charging that “Joe Biden has allowed the cartels to have operational control of our nation’s border, exploiting every weakness and pushing illicit fentanyl into our communities – killing over 300 Americans a day.” The Senator from Kansas went on to warn “Without secure borders, we cannot ensure our country’s safety.”
Sen. Marshall previously issued a vote of <a href="https://www.marshall.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/sen-marshall-introduces-historic-vote-of-no-confidence-resolution-against-dhs-secretary-alejandro-mayorkas/">no confidence</a> against DHS Secretary Mayorkas, asserting that he has “failed to fulfill the basic duties of his office and does not have the confidence of the Senate or of the American people to keep the border secure.”
“Sec. Mayorkas is derelict in his duties, and I’d be derelict in mine as a U.S. Senator if I didn’t act. Sec. Mayorkas’ failures have allowed over 400,000 convicted criminal aliens into our country- threatening the safety and security of our nation,” Sen. Marshall stated in April of this year. “We now look to the House to take the next step, and I stand ready for Sec. Mayorkas’ impeachment trial.”

China’s top diplomat urged South Korea and Japan to form a race-based alliance with Beijing to “revitalize East Asia.”
Wang Yi, the head of the Chinese Communist Party’s Foreign Affairs Commission and former foreign minister, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/04/china/wang-yi-china-japan-south-korea-intl-hnk/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Japanese and South Korean guests at the 2023 International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation that Americans can’t tell the three countries apart.
“Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans are all viewed as &#8216;Asians&#8217; by Americans. They cannot tell the differences between us, and it’s the same in Europe,” Wang <a href="https://twitter.com/statecraftdaily/status/1676502046164516864" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “No matter how you dye your hair blonde, or if you lift your nose tip, you can never become a Westerner.”
“We need to remember where we came from,” Wang continued, calling for China, Japan, and South Korea to “prosper together, revitalize East Asia, revitalize Asia and benefit the world.” 
Wang then appeared to take a <a href="https://apnews.com/article/china-japan-korea-race-controversy-b1fb99824d31b3f88a0893cacf6f54f0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">swipe</a> at the United States, stating that “some major countries outside the region deliberately exaggerate ideological differences, weave various exclusive small circles, and try to replace cooperation with confrontation and unity with division.”
The racialized comments might have been brushed aside in Seoul and Tokyo, given their troubled relationship with Beijing and close military partnership with Washington. 
Both countries’ partnerships with the U.S. center on countering China’s rising influence and the security threat posed by North Korea. Japan, South Korea, and the U.S. have conducted several trilateral military operations, and the U.S. <a href="https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-21-270" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stations</a> more than 80,000 military personnel between the two countries.
“Both have made it clear they feel safer with the US around, and have no interest in abandoning their alliances to instead rely on Beijing’s goodwill,” said Joel Atkinson, a professor of international politics at Hankuk University in Seoul.
Japan and South Korea moved to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/15/asia/south-korea-yoon-japan-visit-regional-security-int-hnk/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mend</a> their troubled relationship with each other earlier this year after North Korea <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/26/world/north-korea-launches-ballistic-missile/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fired</a> two long-range ballistic missiles into the sea between the two American allies. The two countries have also released joint statements emphasizing their major security interests in the Taiwan Strait, drawing ire from China.
Experts criticized Wang’s statement, noting the major differences China has between the two countries and the fact that Japanese and South Koreans regularly become American citizens.
“The irony of &#8230; Wang Yi telling Japanese and Koreans ‘you can never become an American,’ is that Japanese and Koreans become Americans every day,” <a href="https://apnews.com/article/china-japan-korea-race-controversy-b1fb99824d31b3f88a0893cacf6f54f0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> Jeff M. Smith, director of the Asian Studies Center at The Heritage Foundation, “They’re part of the fabric of America. What they can’t become is Chinese. Tone deaf.”

Does Wang Yi really think that national interests are less important than appearance?”
One person from South Korea <a href="https://twitter.com/Joel_P_Atkinson/status/1676461568220090368" target="_blank" rel="noopener">responded</a> to Wang on Twitter by tweeting, “If aliens invade, we will join hands with the aliens and attack you.”
According to the Associated Press, Wang brushed over several historical differences between the three Asian countries that exacerbate tensions to this day, including China’s involvement in the Korean War and Japan’s harsh occupation of China during World War II.
