<p>Cartoon Network made sure to post in celebration of the Transgender Day of Visibility on Sunday, but made no mention of the fact that Easter Sunday also fell on March 31st this year — this despite the fact that <a href="https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/publications/trans-adults-united-states/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1.6 million Americans</a> over 13 identify as transgender, and <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2022/09/13/how-u-s-religious-composition-has-changed-in-recent-decades/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">over 200 million</a> identify as Christian and presumably celebrate Easter.</p>
<p>In a post on Instagram, the cable channel&#8217;s official account shared a picture of what appeared to be a rainbow in just the colors of the pink, white, and blue transgender pride flag. The same picture appeared several times in a carousel that included different affirmative captions for each frame:</p>

<p>The cable network, which typically gears the majority of its daytime programming toward an audience of children, has waded into the culture war in the past as well – and has routinely pushed radical gender ideology whenever given the opportunity.</p>
<p>For 2023&#8217;s Transgender visibility Day, Cartoon Network posted the following on X: &#8220;Addressing someone using their pronouns and name shows that you RESPECT them as their authentic self! We celebrate the journey of our trans and gender-non-conforming friends on this #TransgenderDayofVisibility!</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I have always known that these claims were false &#8211; and I never had any doubt this day would come,&#8221; Roiland </span><a href="https://twitter.com/JustinRoiland/status/1638629789258100737"><span style="font-weight: 400;">tweeted</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in a screenshot he captioned “justice.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I&#8217;m thankful that this case has been dismissed but, at the same time, I&#8217;m still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process,&#8221; the </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cartoon-network"><span style="font-weight: 400;">animated series</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> creator continued. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Most of all, I&#8217;m disappointed that so many people were so quick to judge without knowing the facts, based solely on the word of an embittered ex trying to bypass due process and have me &#8216;canceled.&#8217; That it may have succeeded, even partially, is shameful. However, now that the legal case has ended, I&#8217;m determined to move forward and focus both on my creative projects and restoring my good name.&#8221;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The domestic violence charges were filed in May 2020 regarding an alleged incident from January of that year. A woman identified as Jane Doe accused Roiland of two felonies: one count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, and or deceit, as The Daily Wire previously </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/oh-geez-rick-and-morty-co-creator-axed-over-domestic-abuse-allegations"><span style="font-weight: 400;">reported</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These allegations became public in January, leading to the “Rick and Morty” co-creator getting axed from Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. The animated sci-fi sitcom debuted on the network in 2013 and has seen massive success over the past decade.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hulu also announced the company would no longer work with him on the comedies “Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man” after the allegations came to light.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Besides serving as co-creator and executive producer, Roiland also provided the voice for both titular characters and was known for ad-libbing some of the dialogue. The network terminated its partnership with Roiland but vowed to keep “Rick and Morty” alive, which drew mixed reactions from fans.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A representative with the Orange County District Attorney </span><a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/justin-roiland-issues-statement-as-domestic-violence-charges-against-him-are-dropped"><span style="font-weight: 400;">told</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> IGN that charges were dropped because prosecutors “did not have sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt,&#8221; in addition to &#8220;additional information that came to light during the investigation.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The publication noted that more than a dozen hearings had already been held over the charges, and Roiland was next due back in court on April 27.</span></p>

<p>A new Public Service Announcement (PSA) from Cartoon Network schools children about alleged &#8220;systemic racism&#8221; in our nation&#8217;s education.</p>
<p class="subheading">In the video, which was posted to social media earlier this month and has since gone viral, the character Pearl from the show &#8220;Steven Universe&#8221; lectures about how &#8220;black heroes&#8221; are often erased from history. She first cites the case of Lewis Latimer.</p>
<p>“The lightbulb could more rightfully be attributed to Lewis Latimer, the Black inventor behind the filament inside the bulb,” she says.</p>
<p>&#8220;Hold on, we&#8217;re not going to mention why he invented the filament,&#8221; she later laments. &#8220;To create a better standard of living for people who had only just been freed from slavery. Are we going to ask why kids are apparently learning about Thomas Edison and not learning about Lewis Latimer? These textbooks are incomplete!”</p>
<p><a href="https://www.livescience.com/43424-who-invented-the-light-bulb.html">LiveScience</a> noted the history of Edison and Latimer: “Several months after the 1879 patent was granted, Edison and his team discovered that a carbonized bamboo filament could burn for more than 1,200 hours. Bamboo was used for the filaments in Edison&#8217;s bulbs until it began to be replaced by longer-lasting materials in the 1880s and early 1900s. In 1882, Lewis Howard Latimer, one of Edison&#8217;s researchers, patented a more efficient way of manufacturing carbon filaments.”</p>
<p>According to Pearl, history books routinely leave out the contributions of black people, prioritizing the accomplishments of white people instead.</p>
<p>&#8220;There were Black Roman warriors, Black medieval knights, Black classical musicians, Black cowboys, Black fighter pilots. Where are they? I worry about you humans,&#8221; she exclaims. &#8220;You rely on these stories to know your own history.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Thanks to systemic racism, most of your storytellers prioritized white accomplishments which leaves you with an incomplete picture,&#8221; she continues. &#8220;Ask yourself as you’re learning history, who is telling the story? Was this modified to make white readers comfortable? Are major details being left out that would credit people of color and center their point of view?&#8221;</p>
<p>The video has been shared on Twitter up to 36.9k times. “Black inventors, heroes, and leaders are often left out of history,” Cartoon Network tweeted. “Ask yourself as you’re learning…who is the focus? Why? Question the story.”</p>

<p>Earlier this year, as the Black Lives Matter protests stretched across the nation, VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer released a PSA of his own educating &#8220;white Christians&#8221; about systemic racism.</p>
<p>“As the country was wrestling with protests and riots, I began to notice videos flying among conservative white Christians on social media chiming in on the situation, often with little or no connection to actual facts or history,” Vischer said. “I wondered if maybe I could pull something together that could walk people through history without bashing anyone’s political party or calling them names. I thought maybe if I could just speak calmly about the facts of how we got where we are today, maybe that would help. I’m happy to say it appears I was right!”</p>
<p>“It may be true that there isn’t explicit racism in our legal system anymore, but it doesn’t mean justice is blind,” he added.</p>
