Actress Jodie Foster revealed the reason that she passed up an iconic film role — Princess Leia in the original &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; trilogy — during a recent talk show appearance.

&#8220;I was, yeah. And they were going for a younger, you know, Princess Leia, but I had a conflict,&#8221; Foster said. The actress, now 61, would have been just 15 when the first film was released in 1977.
&#8220;I was doing a Disney movie, and I just didn’t want to pull out of the Disney movie because I was already under contract so I didn’t do it. And you know, they did an amazing job,&#8221; Foster added. &#8220;I don’t know how good I would have been.&#8221;
The Oscar winner went on to say that she might have gone with a different hairstyle if she had taken on the role of Leia, joking, &#8220;I might have gone with a pineapple.&#8221;

Others <a href="https://screenrant.com/star-wars-leia-actors-almost-played/#meryl-streep" target="_blank" rel="noopener">who were considered</a> for the role reportedly included Jane Seymour (&#8220;Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman&#8221;), Geena Davis (&#8220;A League of Their Own&#8221;), Sigourney Weaver (&#8220;Alien&#8221;), and Meryl Streep.
The Disney movie Foster had already committed to was 1977&#8217;s &#8220;Candleshoe.&#8221;

Late-legendary &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/carrie-fisher">Carrie Fisher</a> is finally getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame nearly seven years after her death.
The actress, who famously played Princess Leia in the film franchise, will be honored posthumously on quite possibly the most perfect day, May 4th, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/star-wars-icon-carrie-fisher-posthumously-receive-hollywood-walk-fame-star-may-4">Fox News</a> reported. It is the day that many fans have come to call &#8220;Star Wars Day,&#8221; playing off the famous line, &#8220;May the force be with you.&#8221;
Fisher died in December 2016 after she had a heart attack. She was 60.

According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Fisher&#8217;s star will be near the famous El Capitan Theatre and the 2,754th star honored in the Motion Pictures category.
&#8220;Carrie will join her &#8216;Star Wars&#8217; co-stars and fellow Walk of Famers Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford on this historic sidewalk,&#8221; Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said. &#8220;I am happy to add, that her star is just a few feet away from the star of Mark Hamill and across the street from the star of her legendary mother Debbie Reynolds!&#8221;
Reynolds died one day after Fisher.
Fisher&#8217;s daughter Billie Lourd, 30, will accept the star on her mother&#8217;s behalf.

‘Star Wars’ Actress Carrie Fisher Finally Getting Her Place On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Female action heroes are all the rage in Hollywood.
Some are super-powered such as Captain Marvel or Black Widow. Others may be ballerina-lean, but they deliver punishment like a 300 pound linebacker. Think “Atomic Blonde,” “Peppermint,” or “The 355.”
These newer heroes often have one thing in common: they’re indistinguishable from your garden variety male heroes. Their feminine traits are either ignored or airbrushed away to show true “equality.”
It wasn’t always this way.
Previous female heroines similarly saved the day and rallied audiences to their side. They were brave against impossible odds, but they maintained their femininity. Here are six stark examples, including one from a very recent film series:
<h4>Ellen Ripley, “Alien,” “Aliens”</h4>
The creative team behind 1979’s “Alien” originally had a <a href="https://www.cbr.com/alien-ridley-scott-ripley-role-changed-male-female/">male actor in mind</a> for the role of Ripley, the film’s reluctant hero. The production casted a young Sigourney Weaver instead, forever changing science fiction cinema in the process.
Weaver’s Ripley vanquished the alien in the original film, but she was hardly a take-no-prisoners type. She was vulnerable and scared, but she understood eradicating the beast meant it wouldn’t arrive on Planet Earth like the corporation in charge demanded.
“Aliens,” the sublime 1986 sequel, retained Weaver as the key heroine. This time, the character’s maternal instincts received a sizable close-up. Ripley unofficially adopted young Newt, the only survivor of a brutal alien attack. Ripley set her own safety aside to save Newt over and over again.
Weaver famously battled the alien queen in the film’s finale, but it’s the way she protected Newt that registers the most with audiences.
<h4>Princess Leia, original “Star Wars” trilogy</h4>
She’s the archetypal female hero, risking it all to thwart the Empire’s evil plans. Yes, she might have been as short as Carrie Fisher, but Leia never shirked from a fight. That didn’t mean she did so sans fear. She recoiled as Grand Moff Tarkin threatened her with torture in the original 1977 “Star Wars,” and, famously, she fell for Han Solo’s brand of “toxic masculinity” in “The Empire Strikes Back.”
She told Han she loved him as the carbonite-freezing process began. “I know,” he responded, a masculine response modern scribes would never write for fear of gender inequity debates.
It’s also telling that modern action films often ignore romantic subplots for our heroines. George Lucas didn’t follow that playbook during his initial “Star Wars” trilogy, and thank goodness for that.
<h4>Hattie McAllister, “Terror on the Prairie”</h4>
The Daily Wire’s first western features one of Hollywood’s toughest action stars. Gina Carano of MMA and “The Mandalorian” fame plays Hattie, a frontier wife forced to defend her brood against a band of unsavory outlaws led by Nick Searcy.
Audiences expected Carano to go the full Rambo, or at least a partial Clint Eastwood, before the end credits rolled, but they were wrong. The film showcased Hattie’s fortitude and ability to defend her children. She didn’t transform into an unstoppable fighting machine, though. She remained a mother first and foremost, even breast-feeding her young child during one lull in the action.
No one questioned Hattie’s tenacity, nor thought she was an unworthy screen heroine. Instead, they they left the film remembering how she juggled motherhood with heroism, no doubt. 
<h4>Marge Gunderson, “Fargo”</h4>
Frances McDormand won an Oscar for this Coen brothers’ classic, a small-town mystery solved by a female police chief. McDormand’s Marge wasn’t physically imposing. She didn’t rough up suspects or shake down thugs. She used her mind to crack the case and bring justice to ice-cold Brainerd, MN.
She’s visibly pregnant throughout the film, never letting her impending motherhood slow her quest for justice. Moms know how to multitask, but it’s rarely as impressive as what Marge pulled off in “Fargo.”
<h4>Clarice Starling, “The Silence of the Lambs”</h4>
The 1991 horror classic relied on a female protagonist as much more than the “Final Girl” trope. Jodie Foster’s green FBI agent is the star, full stop, but she’s plagued by insecurities consistent with her age and experience level. She’s verbally and physically assaulted during her early visits to Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins).
Can a rookie stand up to a monster? Will her male superiors even let her try?
Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) leans into Clarice’s uncertainties, exploiting them as he sees fit. She’s a quick study, though, and she uses her guile to thrive in her male-dominated field. Director Jonathan Demme illustrated this by showing Clarice surrounded by bigger, more powerful men on two distinct occasions. No lectures, just a director trusting the audience to put the pieces together.
Clarice does the rest, proving she belongs by collaring Buffalo Bill in a relentless, tense shootout.
<h4>Evelyn Abbott, “A Quiet Place,” “A Quiet Place Part II”</h4>
Few contemporary film franchises celebrate the nuclear family quite like this ongoing horror series. Emily Blunt plays Evelyn, the matriarch of a family fleeing an alien invasion. The creatures famously track their prey via sound, so the Abbotts are forced to stay whisper silent for their own survival.
Evelyn’s maternal instincts remain the franchise’s driving force. Yes, she’s tough, brave, and resourceful, but it’s all about protecting her children – especially her newborn baby.
It’s a miracle a mainstream film included the infant in this setting. Most films lean heavily toward abortion messaging, and could you blame the Abbotts for considering that option here? A newborn child cries, a lot, and that could bring doom to the clan.
The Abbotts embrace the new arrival, crafting new ways to blanket the baby’s cries. It’s one of  Hollywood’s most profound pro-life messages, and Blunt’s Evelyn remains the ultimate mother figure.

In an <a href="https://art19.com/shows/mix-podcast/episodes/5a0efce2-d9e7-4d8a-bf8e-b7eee1e2a073">interview</a> with KMXZ Tucson&#8217;s &#8220;The Morning Mix&#8221; on Thursday that&#8217;s gone viral, LA-based screenwriter <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1449113/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm">Heather Robinson Ross</a> gave her personal account of being sexually assaulted by a man she described as an &#8220;Oscar-winning producer&#8221; early on in her career. After the producer, whom she did not name, tried to force himself on her in a car, Ross said she told her friend actress Carrie Fisher about the terrifying encounter. What Ross described next reads like something straight out of a movie — and has added another epic episode to Fisher&#8217;s legendary Hollywood career.
Ross, who&#8217;s originally from Tucson, told the local talkshow host that in 2000 she had a meeting with an unnamed &#8220;Oscar-winning producer&#8221; to discuss a possible project. Noting that there was &#8220;nothing sexual&#8221; in their communication online before the meeting and saying she assumed she was &#8220;protected&#8221; from advances in part because she was &#8220;overweight&#8221; and wearing an outfit that made her look like an &#8220;olive,&#8221; Ross was shocked when the producer almost immediately forced himself on her.
<blockquote>It happened so quickly, I was ashamed of myself. I thought I did something wrong. And I thought well maybe by meeting up with him, by having lunch or dinner with him, that I was asking for it. So I stayed quiet for years because I didn&#8217;t want the retribution. &#8230; I was just some kid from Tucson, and this guy was a high-profile, Oscar-winning producer.</blockquote>
Pressed on what the producer tried to do, Ross explained that within a couple of minutes of having picked her up, he pulled over and forced himself on her:
<blockquote>He picked me up in Westwood, and within two minutes, we were driving in the car to go get something to eat, and he pulls the car over and says he has to get something out of the side pocket of the door over there. He reaches over and grabs the handle of the chair, the passenger seat, and flips me backward. And all of a sudden, he&#8217;s on top of me. And he has his right hand, that was &#8220;busy,&#8221; and he his left hand was on my chest by neck holding me down. &#8230; He said you&#8217;ll never make a movie in my town and get the eff out of my car. &#8230; I was shocked. I got out of that car and I literally ran, because I didn&#8217;t know what this guy was going to do to me. It happened so fast.</blockquote>
She told the host that she immediately informed her mom and friends and debated filing charges, but chose not to do anything for fear of repercussions. Asked if anyone wanted to &#8220;take action&#8221; against the producer, Ross said Carrie Fisher, whose initial instinct was to protect Ross, eventually sent the producer an impossible to miss message:
<blockquote>Carrie Fisher, a lot of people said in the news after her passing she was like a mother figure and she took care of people, and she did. And I was one of many. And when I told her about this &#8230; she was very protective of me and more scared for my safety than anything. And after that fear wore off, about two weeks later, she sent me a message online and she was like, &#8220;I just saw blank at Sony Studios. I knew he would probably be there so I went to his office and personally delivered a Tiffany box wrapped with a white bow &#8230; It was a cow tongue from Jerry&#8217;s Famous Deli in Westwood with a note that said, &#8216;If you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box.'&#8221;</blockquote>
&#8220;And I about died,&#8221; said Ross.
Asked if it gave her confidence knowing that she had a powerful person fighting for her in Hollywood, Ross said yes. Asked how &#8220;pervasive&#8221; sexual harassment and assault are in Hollywood, Ross said it&#8217;s a massive problem.

Screenwriter: Here’s The EPIC Thing Carrie Fisher Did When I Told Her A Producer Sexually Assaulted Me

In the wake of Carrie Fisher&#8217;s untimely death last December at age 60, the Terrible Left immediately went to work. Feasting off Fisher&#8217;s corpse before it could even cool, her body was immediately sharpened into a prison shiv for Social Justice Warriors, and no one was safe, not <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/11960/cinnabon-bullied-deleting-carrie-fisher-tribute-john-nolte">Cinnabon,</a> not even poor <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/12020/steve-martin-coward-charlie-sheen-free-speech-hero-john-nolte">Steve Martin</a>. Weapon in hand, we were bullied and harassed into paying tribute to Carrie Fisher in only the &#8220;correct&#8221; ways.
There would be no mentioning of Fisher&#8217;s otherworldly beauty. Any word of that <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/11957/princess-leias-iconic-gold-bikini-tribute-carrie-john-nolte">fantastic gold bikini</a> was a capital offense. Only crypto-Nazis would dare refer to her as a princess. She was a general, you sexist, degenerate freaks.
Oh, and of course, Fisher died at the hands of the patriarchy. Because men run Hollywood and horny teenage boys buy movie tickets, and both tend to be turned off by chubby women (even aged 60), the patriarchy forced Fisher to lose weight, which in turn put so much stress on her heart, <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=dieting+killed+carrie+fisher&amp;oq=dieting+killed+carrie+fisher&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57.5279j0j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8">it exploded</a>.
If the stupidity of blaming weight loss on Fisher&#8217;s death was not apparent at the time, the depressing results of the just-released autopsy have now laid that absurd lie bare. While Fisher&#8217;s official cause of death is listed as &#8220;sleep apnea and other factors,&#8221; there is no doubt the &#8220;other factors&#8221; included the drugs found in her system, a toxic mix of heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, methadone, alcohol, and opiates.
To their everlasting credit, Fisher&#8217;s family is not beating around the bush:
&#8220;My mom battled drug addiction and mental illness her entire life,&#8221; Fisher&#8217;s daughter Billie Lourd told <a href="http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-carrie-fisher-autopsy-report-20170619-story.html">People</a>. &#8220;She ultimately died of it. She was purposefully open in all of her work about the social stigmas surrounding these diseases.&#8221;
My sister&#8217;s battle with drugs &#8220;slowly but surely put her health in jeopardy over many, many years,&#8221; Fisher&#8217;s brother Todd Fisher said.
And yes, sleep apnea is a well-known side-effect of excessive, long-term drug abuse.
Carrie Fisher&#8217;s death is a terrible thing. She was a bright, talented and beautiful woman who, had she taken better care of herself, had another 25 years ahead of her. According to some sources, in the same way chapter 7 focused on Harrison Ford and chapter 8 will focus on Mark Hamill, the final entry in the latest Star Wars trilogy was to revolve around her character, General Leia Organa.
But because addiction is just as terrible, the toll of decades of substance abuse took her away from us. And since we are being honest, let&#8217;s admit it did so even before she died. Bo Derek, Mimi Rogers, Dana Delaney, Geena Davis, Joan Allen, Kim Cattrall, and Paula Zahn are all the same age as Fisher. But unlike those women, Fisher became almost unrecognizable, the years of abuse turned her into a completely different person, she looked and sounded nothing like the one we knew just 25 or so years earlier in movies such as Soapdish or When Harry Met Sally.
Fisher&#8217;s own addictions and struggles are not the only cautionary tale here. So is a leftwing culture so venomous and bitter they would blame a relatively young woman&#8217;s death on &#8230; losing weight. Fisher did not lose weight to look like a super model or like she spent a decade in a prison camp. She obviously lost the unhealthy weight that contributed to her heart and sleep apnea problems. And when she was done losing that weight, she still looked like <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=carrie+fisher+is+general&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=isch&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjzusCwo8zUAhUC8CYKHbFMAR4Q_AUICygC&amp;biw=1578&amp;bih=869#imgrc=eTUj99tklhcWsM:">this</a>, a healthy middle-aged woman.

Carrie Fisher was above all her own woman; an outspoken, brilliant, independent, and honest (oftentimes painfully so) woman with a mind all her own.
To blame Fisher&#8217;s death on anyone else is the true desecration of her memory.

The movie will bring back Mark Hamill as Luke Skywaker and the late Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. Fisher had finished filming before her passing at the end of 2016.

According to Wired.com, much to the relief of fans, Lucasfilm will not digitally recreate Fisher in future Star Wars films. 
&#8220;We don&#8217;t normally respond to fan or press speculation, but there is a rumor circulating that we would like to address,&#8221; an official statement from Lucasfilm read. &#8220;We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher&#8217;s performance as Princess or General Leia Organa. Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars.&#8221;
The Last Jedi will pick up the story where The Force Awakens left off.

Lucasfilm/Disney Just Revealed The Next Star Wars Movie

Actress Carrie Fisher was officially laid to rest Friday at the Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles. The urn in which her ashes were buried likely had mourners chuckling. 
Fisher&#8217;s brother Todd carried the Star Wars princess&#8217; ashes in a giant Prozac pill. Fisher, who was diagnosed with bipolar II in her late 20s, was a vocal advocate for people with mental health issues.

The oversized porcelain Prozac pill was an antique from the &#8217;50s that was one of Carrie&#8217;s prized possessions, according to her brother Todd. 
&#8220;Carrie&#8217;s favorite possession was a giant Prozac pill that she bought many years ago. A big pill,&#8221; Todd told <a href="http://www.etonline.com/news/206655_carrie_fisher_giant_prozac_pill_urn_explained_by_brother_todd_after_debbie_reynold_funeral/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ETOnline</a>. &#8220;She loved it, and it was in her house, and Billie and I felt it was where she&#8217;d want to be.&#8221;
&#8220;We couldn&#8217;t find anything appropriate. Carrie would like that,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It was her favorite thing, and so that&#8217;s how you do it. And so they&#8217;re together, and they will be together here and in heaven, and we&#8217;re OK with that.&#8221;
Back in 2000, Fisher told Diane Sawyer, &#8220;I outlasted my problems. I am mentally ill. I can say that. I am not ashamed of that. I survived that, I&#8217;m still surviving it, but bring it on. Better me than you.&#8221;

The fact that a crackhead knows what &#8220;timorousness&#8221; means while I had to go and look it up, is beside the point.
The point is that Sheen did not back down. His despicable plea to God stands. He stood his ground and then doubled down, and I say good for him.
If you are horrified by this, let me ask you&#8230;

Now one must wonder how Sheen would have held up had he expressed the same opinion about Barack Obama, an opinion that would have been met with a completely different response both within his own Hollywood community and from our so-called objective mainstream media. Nevertheless, Sheen is facing some serious blowback and still standing his ground. I say this is good for America. We need more of this. We need more people willing to express themselves in ways that make others uncomfortable. And we need fewer spineless cowards like Steve Martin who assume the fetal position as soon as Disapproval rears its fascist head.
At the age of 35, after he was already well-established and earning a healthy living, in order to be true to himself, comedian George Carlin dumped <a href="http://www.thesmokinggun.com/mugshots/celebrity/hollywood/george-carlin">the suit and tie and let his hair grow long</a>. Then, after he had been repeatedly warned it would happen, he still chose to get himself arrested in Milwaukee for performing his classic &#8220;Seven Dirty Words You Can Never Say On Television.&#8221;
Carlin laid it all on the line, lost years of a decent income due to his new look and style, and did so because he believed that in America you should be able to say whatever the hell you want. As long as you are not causing a panic by screaming fire or interfering with someone else&#8217;s rights, what gives our government the right to silence and oppress speech they don&#8217;t like? Carlin was willing to die on that hill, and we all owe him a debt of gratitude.
Carlin won his battle, but today instead of the government silencing and oppressing speech, we have social media mobs and the national media. Granted, the media only attempts to destroy those who say things that offend Leftists, still, on the political right, there is a similar infrastructure in place. And none of it is okay.
Now, to answer your question. Yes, I am totally fine with criticizing someone&#8217;s else&#8217;s speech and recognize that is also free speech. But we all know when that criticism crosses a line and twists itself into an attempt to intimidate, bully and threaten, and that is when it stops being okay.
I probably despise Obama even more than Sheen despises Trump. Regardless, never in a million years, even in the darkest part of my soul, would I wish any harm on the man, much less death. Charlie Sheen doing so, and using the deaths of Fisher and Reynolds to do so, is objectively awful.
Worse, though, is this Brave New World where you can&#8217;t say something or are afraid to say something objectively awful, and that is the world I am seeing built up around us.
This is why, among other things, I use the word &#8220;gay,&#8221; and mock Kwanzaa and people for being fat and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/jjmnolte/posts/10154833591283844?pnref=story">Sarah Silverman&#8217;s advancing age.</a> I do these things because I have been warned not to do these things. I do these things because I have been told not to. I do these things because I am an American.
This country needs more Charlie Sheens, more people who refuse to run from free speech bullies.
Because that is the only way we can defeat these fascist, un-American, online mobs.

If there is a more Hollywood ending than the death of Debbie Reynolds less than 30 hours after the loss of her daughter (and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzjgp2XebwE">close friend</a>) Carrie Fisher, I sure haven&#8217;t seen it. The past two days serve as even more proof that real life is always stranger than fiction. If such a thing happened in a movie, we would almost certainly write it off as manipulative melodrama.
Debbie, who was born in 1932, was 84. Carrie, born 1956, was just 60. Both enjoyed enormous success in the business of show, but of a different kind &#8212; the kind that reflected the eras in which they lived.
No one wants to admit this today, but the old, stodgy Hollywood run almost exclusively by conservatives, was much better for women. Unlike today, the long-dead studio system was deeply invested in attracting female customers, and doing so through movies starring women. This is why Katharine Hepburn, Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo, Ginger Rogers, Marlene Dietrich, Audrey Hepburn, Irene Dunne, Deborah Kerr, and a host of others were, during their time, every bit as famous and powerful as Cary Grant and John Wayne.
This is the Hollywood Debbie was born into.
With the end of Old Hollywood (circa 1960 &#8211; 1965), came an end to female-driven films. &#8220;New Hollywood,&#8221; as it was called, certainly had its benefits, but one of the drawbacks still plaguing the industry is the sidelining of women. Oh, sure, there&#8217;s always a Barbra or Meryl or Julia or Sandra, but they usually stand alone. Although we are told Hollywood is much more progressive and liberal today, even with female studio and production bosses, it is now mostly a man&#8217;s world up on that screen.
This is the Hollywood Carrie was born into.
As a result, while both women had equally successful careers, those careers were very different.
Debbie Reynolds was a capital &#8220;S&#8221; star, an actress who carried or helped carry movies, and did so for decades. At age seventeen(!), she stole (you can watch it happen <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TClltL5AZs">here</a>) &#8220;Three Little Words&#8221; from no less than Red Skelton, Fred Astaire and Vera-Ellen. Not long after, and with little to no dancing experience, she was cast opposite Gene Kelly in what would go on to become one of the greatest movies ever made, &#8220;Singin&#8217; In the Rain&#8221; (1952).
At the time, Kelly was a 40-year-old, Oscar-nominated superstar at the very peak of his creative powers. He was also co-directing with Stanley Donen and resented having a no-name starlet foisted on him by the studio. The legend tells us that Kelly would have nothing to do with poor Debbie. It was Fred Astaire who found Reynolds crying under a piano and took the time to teach her to dance. After spending hours capturing the scene below on film, Reynolds and her bleeding feet had forever earned the notoriously prickly Kelly&#8217;s respect.

Imagine being Debbie Reynolds in that scene, imagine you are just 19 and your entire career hinges on holding your own with Donald O&#8217;Connor on your right and Kelly on your left. Well, Reynolds not only held her own, she&#8217;s the one you can&#8217;t take your eyes off of.
That was the beginning of a screen and stage career that would exceed 60 years. Reynolds would star or co-star in countless films, among them &#8220;Susan Slept Here&#8221; (1954) with Dick Powell, &#8220;The Tender Trap&#8221; (1955) with Frank Sinatra, &#8220;Tammy and the Bachelor&#8221; (1957), &#8220;The Mating Game&#8221; (1959), &#8220;The Rat Race&#8221; (1960) with Tony Curtis, &#8220;How the West Was Won&#8221; (1963), &#8220;Divorce American Style&#8221; (1967), and &#8220;Mother&#8221;(1996) with Albert Brooks.
Reynolds earned her only Oscar nomination for &#8220;The Unsinkable Molly Brown&#8221; (1956). In between film work (and a short but successful recording career), and until just a few years ago, Reynolds practically lived on the stage. 
Carrie was the product of the four- year storybook marriage between Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher. America&#8217;s sweetheart married the boy next door, and America was charmed&#8230; until about 1957 when Fisher dumped America&#8217;s sweetheart and one-year-old Carrie for screen siren (and Debbie&#8217;s best friend) Elizabeth Taylor. Some 60 years later this is still one of the most notorious scandals in all of Hollywood. But I digress.
Carrie&#8217;s screen debut occurred in one of the most New Hollywood of all New Hollywood productions, Warren Beatty&#8217;s masterpiece &#8220;Shampoo&#8221; (1975). Her next film would forever seal her fate as a timeless icon, Princess Leia in &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; (1977).
Fisher was absolutely perfect for the role, and over the six-year life of the trilogy, we saw her blossom into a capable, independent, beautiful woman and <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/11957/princess-leias-iconic-gold-bikini-tribute-carrie-john-nolte">outright sex symbol</a>.
Although she secured roles in memorable films such as &#8220;The Blues Brothers&#8221; (1980), the underrated charmer &#8220;Garbo Talks&#8221; (1984), &#8220;When Harry Met Sally&#8221; (1989) and &#8220;The &#8216;burbs&#8221; (1989), on screen, Carrie was not destined to be the star her mother was. Her true genius was as a writer. As early as 1983, she was polishing dialogue on &#8220;Return of the Jedi,&#8221; (note: the &#8220;Empire Strikes Back&#8221; page circulating on the Internet that claims to show her dialogue changes is a hoax), and this began a lucrative career as a memoirist, novelist, and script doctor.
Unfortunately, although they are hugely important and insanely well paid, script doctors do not earn screen credit. Fisher&#8217;s list of writing credits <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000402/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1#writer">might be short</a>, but she forever left her mark on a number of popular films from the 90&#8217;s, including <a href="http://mashable.com/2016/12/27/carrie-fisher-script/#ZcIekpVOJmqG">&#8220;Sister Act,&#8221; &#8220;Outbreak,&#8221; and &#8220;The River Wild.&#8221; </a>
If you&#8217;re looking for insight into Debbie and Carrie&#8217;s relationship, I highly recommend &#8220;<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100395/?ref_=nm_flmg_wr_11">Postcards From the Edge</a>&#8221; (1990). Based on her own memoir (Fisher wrote the screenplay with Mike Nichols directing), &#8220;Postcards&#8221; stars Shirley MacLaine and Meryl Streep as Debbie and Carrie, respectively. With some fact mixed with fiction, the result is highly entertaining, ultimately moving, and always insightful. There is no question, though, that the real star is Fisher&#8217;s incredible writing.
If you are wondering just how small of a world Hollywood is, way back in 1956, MacLaine was first cast in &#8220;The Unsinkable Molly Brown,&#8221; which, after she dropped out, went to Debbie, and with it her only Oscar nomination. After MacLaine played Debbie in &#8220;Postcards,&#8221; the two of them co-starred in 2001&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0207156/">These Old Broads</a>,&#8221; which also starred &#8230; Elizabeth Taylor. (After five years of marriage, Taylor ended up dumping Fisher for Richard Burton, and the two women eventually resumed their friendship.)
Yes, both Debbie and Carrie had legendary personal lives filled with scandal, addiction, lovers&#8230; The usual-usual. I&#8217;m not terribly interested in all that. Anyone can live a dramatic life. What made this mother-daughter duo so uniquely special was their perseverance and talent. 
In the end, that is all that matters.
For in the end, that is what makes you an Immortal.

Apparently, Cinnabon committed two sins. 1) the &#8220;buns&#8221; double entendre. 2) cashing in on an icon&#8217;s death.
Because, you know, manufacturing outrage for clicks is in no way cashing in on anyone&#8217;s death.
As far as the &#8220;buns&#8221; quip&#8230; I don&#8217;t know, I seem to recall Carrie Fisher as someone not just with a wonderful sense of humor, but a ribald sense of humor, someone who <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postcards_from_the_Edge_(film)">loved to laugh at herself and her own image</a>.
And because we didn&#8217;t know Carrie Fisher, until someone who did says something, maybe we should all just keep our prudish mouths shut and let them decide.

 His sin? Finding Fisher, a beautiful woman, beautiful. 
&#8220;Princess Leia&#8217;s status as the catalyst of male sexual awakening has been alluded to countless times in pop culture,&#8221; says The Cut. &#8220;And on Tuesday, Steve Martin helpfully reminded us of this fact in a now-deleted tweet when he said that for him as a young man, &#8216;she was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen.'&#8221;
The Cut argues that Martin&#8217;s tweet objectified the actress and that Fisher herself would be offended by the tweet: &#8220;But that characterization of Leia &#8212; as a wet dream for prepubescent men &#8212; is something Fisher spoke out against her whole career,&#8221; shrieked the feminist writer. 
To put this in perspective: A heterosexual man finds a woman beautiful (gasp!). He finds out she&#8217;s witty and intelligent. He states this in candid tweet upon her death. Feminists clutch their pearls and shame him. 
Twitter users succinctly called out the Outrage Police in 140 characters or less.

Martin was ultimately shamed into deleting his tweet, which is also pathetic. But that&#8217;s a product of feminism that shames men for showing any sort of natural masculinity, such as simply finding a woman beautiful. Soon, all we&#8217;ll be left with are Obamacare-style Pajama Boys.

Perpetually Offended Feminists Shame Steve Martin For Sweet Tweet About Carrie Fisher

On Tuesday, Carrie fisher, the iconic Princess Leia Organa of Star Wars, died in Los Angeles at the age of 60.

Last Friday, Fisher flew from London to Los Angeles. She went into cardiac arrest, prompting paramedics to transport her from LAX to UCLA Medical Center.
Fisher, the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds; traveled to the Central School of Speech and Drama in London in 1973, then returned to play a part in Warren Shampoo. Just a few years later, in 1976, at the age of 19, she played Leia in Star Wars, (released in 1977), revealing only in recent years that she had a torrid affair with Harrison Ford, who was married and 35 at the time.
Fisher also starred in the second and third Star Wars films, as well as 2015&#8217;s The Force Awakens. Other films included The Blues Brothers, The Man with One Red Shoe, Woody Allen&#8217;s Hannah and Her Sisters and When Harry Met Sally.
Fisher had a tumultuous personal life; she confessed she started smoking marijuana at 13; did heavy drugs, had a short-lived marriage to singer Paul Simon in 1983. She <a href="http://health.heraldtribune.com/2013/04/20/14065/">told the Herald-Tribune</a> in 2013. &#8220;So I didn&#8217;t do other kinds of drugs until I was about 20. Then, by the time I was 21 it was LSD. I didn&#8217;t love cocaine, but I wanted to feel any way other than the way I did, so I&#8217;d do anything.&#8221;
By 1985, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, later speaking out about mental health awareness.
Fisher authored the autobiographical Postcards from the Edge, later filmed, as well as Wishful Drinking, Surrender the Pink, The Best Awful, Shockaholic, Delusions of Grandma and The Princess Diarist. She had a successful career as a script doctor, working on films like The Wedding Singer, Hook and Sister Act.
Billie Lourd was born from the union of Fisher and talent agent Bryan Lourd. In 2008, Wishful Drinking became a one-woman stage show and later an <a href="http://www.hbo.com/documentaries/wishful-drinking">HBO documentary</a>.
Fisher had filmed scenes for the next Star Wars installment, Episode VIII, due out in December 2017. Fisher said of The Princess Diarist, drawn from Fisher&#8217;s old diaries and notebooks, &#8220;I had forgotten that I&#8217;d written them, and I&#8217;ve never written diaries sort of like that. I write when I&#8217;m upset &#8230; it was about two or three months of upset. It was sad because I was so insecure, and it&#8217;s very raw and obviously I didn&#8217;t expect anyone &#8212; including myself, I suppose later on &#8212; to read it.&#8221;
