Former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin slammed her former employer in an op-ed published this week at The Atlantic, claiming that they blew off a live interview from a teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the wake of the tragedy that occurred at the school in 2018 so that the far-Left network could cover Trump news.
&#8220;One of my producers interrupted our broadcast from Florida and spoke into my earpiece. News was breaking about President Donald Trump and the FBI. My producer assured me that we’d return to coverage in Parkland, but that right then—I’ll never forget it—&#8217;we have to break away to go live to Washington&#8217;,&#8221; Baldwin <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/05/brooke-baldwin-dont-let-the-cameras-turn-away/661142/">wrote</a>. &#8220;But. But. But. Fourteen students were dead. I stood there dumbfounded. A teacher from the school was just out of camera range, waiting to join me for a five-minute live interview. I used the pause in coverage to tell her what was happening and told her that we’d get to her, that her story mattered. But I already knew then that they weren’t coming back to us.&#8221;
&#8220;Outside of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, I waited to reappear on my own show, furiously emailing my producers back at CNN headquarters to fight for more airtime on what was happening at Parkland: Come back to me. The teacher!&#8221; she continued. &#8220;Soon after, I got my marching orders: Come back to New York. I knew what that meant. We were done.&#8221;
Baldwin took a shot at the network on her way out the door last year by suggesting that the network was rife with sexism, saying that all the highest paid people there and all her bosses were men. &#8220;So I’ve been surrounded by a lot of men,&#8221; she said. “I was surrounded by a lot of dudes.&#8221;
As The Daily Wire has previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/propaganda-cnn-spreads-false-info-destroy-2nd-ryan-saavedra">reported</a>, Baldwin has a history of being an anti-Second Amendment activist and using deceptive tactics to push her agenda.
Baldwin ran a segment the day after a school shooting in Colorado back in 2019, which left one dead and several injured, that featured extremely deceptive statistics and provided no source for the information.
The video, which was over three minutes long, showed the following numbers appearing on the screen as Baldwin sat silently looking at the camera:

<li>“35 U.S. School Shootings Since The Fall”</li>
<li>“336 School Shootings Since 2008”</li>
<li>“373,663 Killed By Gun Violence From 2007-2017”</li>
</ul>
The presentation then stated: “If words aren’t changing anything, then what about these images?”
CNN cut to photos of children and mothers crying. “Parents waiting to hear their child’s name called… or not,” the graphic continued. “Children with their hands up… at school. Or clenched… to pray.”
“If this isn’t a crisis now… when will it be?” the graphic concluded. “ENOUGH.”
Every statistic that Baldwin used in her presentation was deceptive or completely false. The Daily Wire reached out to CNN multiple times over a period of two days to seek the sources of the information used in the segment and received no response.
The New York Times, which is a Left-leaning publication, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/05/11/us/school-shootings-united-states.html">reported</a> at the time that there have been 111 school shootings in the U.S. since 1970, which met the F.B.I.’s definition for an active-shooter scenario, whereas CNN claimed without evidence that there have been 336 school shootings since 2008.
At the time, CNN also provided no evidence for their claim about the number of school shootings.
The only statistic that CNN used that could be traced to a legitimate source was their claim that there have been 373,663 people killed by firearms in the U.S. from 2007-2017. However, this statistic is very misleading.
The 373,663 number includes firearm deaths that break down into the following five categories:

<li>Unintentional</li>
<li>Suicide</li>
<li>Homicide</li>
<li>Undetermined</li>
<li>Legal intervention/operations of war</li>
</ul>
The only category that is relevant when looking at “gun violence” is the homicide number, which, for the 11-year span, is 134,224 deaths. The majority of the deaths, well over 225,000, were suicides.
The National Institute of Justice (NIJ), which is part of the Office of Justice Programs, <a href="https://www.nij.gov/topics/crime/gun-violence/pages/welcome.aspx">reported</a> back in 2019 that “gun-related homicide is most prevalent among gangs and during the commission of felony crimes.”
Baldwin failed to inform her audience of any of these facts and instead combined the misleading statistics with sad images to emotionally manipulate her audience.

A former host at CNN who worked with recently-fired host Chris Cuomo spoke out about the firing that took place over the weekend, saying that the network needed to hire a woman to fill the spot.
Brooke Baldwin, who costed CNN’s “New Day” with Chris Cuomo several years ago, made the remarks in videos that she posted to social media.
Cuomo was fired after CNN investigated his alleged role in helping his brother, then-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, navigate a sexual misconduct scandal.
&#8220;Just like so many of you I saw the news on Saturday about a sudden change in CNN primetime, and I have no comment on that decision,&#8221; Baldwin said, later adding that &#8220;what&#8217;s happening now creates this opportunity [for women], which is exactly what I was talking about. And so I&#8217;ll say it: I would like to see CNN put a woman in that 9 p.m. spot, not me, I&#8217;ve moved on, but there are plenty of brilliant women they can choose from.&#8221;
&#8220;The way we truly change the game for us is to put more women, brown, black, white women in positions of power,&#8221; Baldwin said. &#8220;And yes, of course, we need more seats at the table, but we also need to build a better, more inclusive table. And CNN primetime has been dominated by male hosts and y&#8217;all it&#8217;s nearly 2022. Wouldn&#8217;t you like to see a woman successfully lead in primetime?&#8221;

News anchor Brooke Baldwin is taking shots at CNN&#8217;s apparently male-dominated atmosphere as she leaves the network.
Baldwin announced her departure in February after CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper notably took over her timeslot ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
&#8220;The most influential anchors on our network, the highest-paid, are men. My bosses, my executives, are men,&#8221; Baldwin told <a href="https://msmagazine.com/podcast/29-whos-telling-our-stories-cnns-brooke-baldwin-on-women-and-media%e2%80%a9/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ms. Magazine podcast</a>. &#8220;The person who oversees CNN Dayside is a man, and my executive producer for 10 years is a man. So I’ve been surrounded by a lot of men.&#8221;
&#8220;I was surrounded by a lot of dudes,&#8221; she added.
The liberal news anchor said she continuously fought to tell &#8220;women&#8217;s stories&#8221; on-air, despite being told “no” a lot.
&#8220;I know I, personally, fight for women’s stories,&#8221; she recalled, adding, &#8220;I got told no a lot and I still managed to do it.&#8221;
&#8220;Little by little,&#8221; though, Baldwin said, CNN is starting to allocate more power positions to females. &#8220;It’s getting better, but we still have a bit of a ways to go,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I want more women in the room.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/departing-cnn-baldwin-grievances-women-liberal-network">According</a> to Fox News, &#8220;CNN is the only major cable news network in America without a female primetime host and many of the network’s high-powered executives are men.&#8221; The report added:
<blockquote>In 2018, Hollywood trade publication &#8220;TheWrap&#8221; <a href="https://www.thewrap.com/cnn-woman-problem-msnbc-fox-news-on-air-female-anchor-talent/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">analyzed weekday programming</a> on various networks and found CNN didn’t have as many female anchors as competitors.
&#8220;CNN has significantly fewer women serving in visible on-air roles than either Fox News or MSNBC,&#8221; TheWrap reported.</blockquote>
Back in October, Baldwin seemed to suggest online that she was being pushed out at the network against her will.
&#8220;As the election gears up, the political maestro @jaketapper will hold down my hour and his for the coming weeks. Wish I was with you, but I’ll see ya on [TV] on the flip side of the election,&#8221; she wrote on Instagram, according to Fox.
Baldwin replied, &#8220;Not my choice,&#8221; when a fan asked, &#8220;Why are you taking so many weeks off at such an important time?&#8221;
Despite Baldwin&#8217;s pretense of objectivity, she&#8217;s been relatively open about her adherence to left-wing identity politics.
In May, for example, Baldwin <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-cnn-anchor-cries-on-air-as-a-white-woman-aware-of-my-own-privilege">broke down in tears</a> on-air over her “rage” and acknowledgment of her own “privilege” as a “white woman” in reaction to the death of George Floyd.

Brooke Baldwin Criticizes CNN On Her Way Out The Door

On Thursday, CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin hosted Minneapolis City Council Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-mn-city-council-vp-anger-justified-but-you-have-no-right-to-violence-harm-on-very-communities-you-claim-to-stand-up-fo?%3Futm_source=twitter">Andrea Jenkins</a> on &#8220;CNN Newsroom&#8221; and broke down into tears over her &#8220;rage&#8221; and acknowledgment of her own &#8220;privilege&#8221; as a &#8220;white woman.&#8221;
&#8220;There are so many emotions,&#8221; Baldwin started in, reacting to Jenkins earlier in the day beginning her press briefing by signing &#8220;Amazing Grace.&#8221;
&#8220;As I’m sitting here listening to you, I’m having my own — I’m surprised at my own emotions on TV with you,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;But I just, as a white woman, aware of my own privilege in this country, I am so angry, and I can’t even begin…&#8221;
&#8220;Forgive me,&#8221; Baldwin said, now wiping tears from her eyes.
&#8220;It’s a human emotion, Brooke,&#8221; Jenkins responded, &#8220;and I think what is so — what sparked so much outrage is there seemed to be no regard for humanity or human life in the video we all witnessed.&#8221;
Baldwin continued addressing &#8220;white privilege&#8221; and asked Jenkins what white people can do to express their rage and stamp out their own racism, which the city council VP likened to a &#8220;disease.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m getting a lot of incoming messages from white viewers who are enraged, who don&#8217;t know what to do with their emotion,&#8221; said Baldwin. &#8220;You call racism a &#8216;disease&#8217;, what do you want to tell white America, not just to listen, but to act?&#8221;
&#8220;I wish I had all the smart answers to provide to white people,&#8221; started Jenkins, &#8220;A, stop killing us, B, give black people opportunities to live full healthy lives.&#8221;
Jenkins then implored &#8220;white America&#8221; &#8220;to stop perpetuating the system of racism,&#8221; noting that she&#8217;s not calling any one person &#8220;racist.&#8221;
During the segment, Jenkins suggested charges against the officers involved in the arrest of George Floyd will be the only thing to stop the &#8220;rioting.&#8221;
While the city council VP expressly used the word &#8220;riots,&#8221; Baldwin called them &#8220;gatherings.&#8221;
&#8220;Today is a sad day for Minneapolis, it’s a sad day for America, it’s a sad day for the world,&#8221; Jenkins told reporters on Thursday afternoon.
&#8220;I want to remind all the people that are in the streets that are protesting: you have every absolute right to be angry, to be upset, to be mad, to express your anger,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;However, you have no right to perpetrate violence and harm on the very communities that you say that you are standing up for.&#8221;
&#8220;We need peace and calm in our streets, and I am begging you for that calm,&#8221; Jenkins added.
Earlier this week, a video of Floyd’s arrest went viral, sparking outrage.
&#8220;An eight-minute clip filmed by a person on the street shows Floyd telling police he can’t breathe and begging the cop on top of him to stop before he falls unconscious,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-riot-police-in-minneapolis-fire-rubber-bullets-tear-gas-at-protesters-demanding-charges-against-cops-involved-in-death-of-black-man">The Daily Wire</a> reported Tuesday. &#8220;Officer Derek Chauvin was identified as the officer who knelt on Floyd’s neck outside Cup Foods on Chicago Avenue and East 38th Street.&#8221;
&#8220;He’s not even resisting arrest right now, bro,&#8221; one bystander is heard telling the officers, according to the video. &#8220;You’re f***ing stopping his breathing right now, you think that’s cool?&#8221;
All four officers involved in the arrest have been fired, and the FBI and state law enforcement officials are investigating the 46-year-old’s death.
Protests in response to Floyd’s death started to turn ugly by Wednesday evening. Dozens of looters <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-protesters-break-into-target-loot-store-in-response-to-death-of-george-floyd-its-chaos-out-here">destroyed</a> a Target store, grabbing TVs and other goods, filling up carts, and jetting out of the store without paying. Into the night, AutoZone, Target, and other businesses were set ablaze by rioters. And at least one man was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disturbing-video-one-killed-in-violent-protests-over-death-of-george-floyd-police-investigating-reports-victim-was-looter-shop-owner-shot-him">shot dead</a> outside a pawn shop.
On Thursday night, the rioting continued to rage.

CNN reporter Leyla Santiago discussed sexually-charged subject matter during CNN&#8217;s New Year&#8217;s Eve coverage on Monday night in front of a small child. With the young girl standing right behind her, Santiago asked people about the color of their underwear and said wearing red is good for &#8220;the love.&#8221;
&#8220;I do want to talk about one more tradition,&#8221; Santiago said. &#8220;And that is, if you wear red underwear, if you wear red underwear, it is good for the love &#8230; of 2019.&#8221;
Santiago proceeded to creepily ask a man standing near her what color underwear he was wearing as the little girl stood behind her and watched her every move.
CNN&#8217;s Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon &#8212; who are often behind many of the network&#8217;s more absurd moments &#8212; appeared on a split-screen where they talked about not wearing any underwear.
Santiago then started handing out red underwear and threw red underwear at the camera crew.

CNN&#8217;s Brooke Baldwin is doubling down on her embarrassing refusal to call Democrat mobs &#8220;mobs,&#8221; or as she might call them, the &#8220;M&#8221; word.
Appearing on The Colbert Report on Tuesday night, Baldwin said she doesn&#8217;t want to be the &#8220;word police&#8221; but simply had to &#8220;call out&#8221; The Daily Beast&#8217;s Matt Lewis for calling the mob of people who chased Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) out of a restaurant a &#8220;mob.&#8221;
Per Baldwin, identifying the mob of people chasing out Cruz or chasing down other Republican senators was merely a Republican &#8220;talking point.&#8221; You see, as a true objective and nonpartisan journalist, Baldwin couldn&#8217;t let that slide. Or something.
&#8220;At the time the mob word had been this talking point for Republicans, from all up and down Capitol Hill in the wake of what had happened with Dr. Ford and Justice Kavanaugh,&#8221; Baldwin told Colbert. &#8220;So when he brought the mob word up again, I called him out.&#8221;
&#8220;Listen, like, I don&#8217;t want to be the word police, and that was not my intention,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;But I also believe in calling out talking points.&#8221;

In the &#8220;M&#8221; word <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/36933/watch-cnns-brooke-baldwin-has-freak-out-over-m-ryan-saavedra">segment</a> Baldwin was discussing, Lewis specifically referenced the &#8220;mob&#8221; harassing Senator Cruz. &#8220;When you see people like Ted Cruz getting chased out of restaurants by a mob&#8212;&#8221; he started, before Baldwin stepped in to shame him.
&#8220;Oh, you&#8217;re not going to use the mob word here,&#8221; she interrupted.
&#8220;It&#8217;s totally a mob,&#8221; Lewis pushed back. &#8220;It is without a doubt. There&#8217;s no other word for it.&#8221;
&#8220;Stop, stop. A mob is what we saw in Charlottesville, Virginia two Augusts ago. A mob is not what we saw chasing &#8212; I&#8217;m not saying what they did was right,&#8221; she replied.
&#8220;What about the people who were at the Supreme Court banging on the walls?&#8221; asked Lewis. &#8220;What do you call that? Civil protest? Or is that a mob? I think it&#8217;s easily a mob.&#8221;
&#8220;That&#8217;s pretty mob-y,&#8221; CNN contributor Mary Katharine Ham chimed in. &#8220;And if it were tea partiers, we&#8217;d call it a mob for sure. Come on, let&#8217;s be serious.&#8221;

THE ‘M’ WORD: Brooke Baldwin Paints Herself A Responsible Journalist For Refusing To Call Democrat Mobs ‘Mobs’

CNN&#8217;s Brooke Baldwin refused to let one of her guests refer to rowdy far-left activists who opposed Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as a &#8220;mob,&#8221; saying that she did not want to use the &#8220;m-word.&#8221;
The comment came from senior Daily Beast columnist and CNN contributor Matt Lewis, who said that the increasing confrontations initiated by far-left protesters will drive GOP turnout at the polls this fall.
&#8220;Republicans, they&#8217;re the team that needed the excitement, the passion, the energy,&#8221; Lewis said. &#8220;They didn&#8217;t have it. In midterms, that&#8217;s what matters for turnout and now I think they do.&#8221;
&#8220;I believe it&#8217;s the overreaction of the Left,&#8221; Lewis continued. &#8220;When you see people like Ted Cruz getting chased out of restaurants by a mob&#8212; &#8220;
Baldwin cut off Lewis, &#8220;Oh, you&#8217;re not going to use the &#8216;mob&#8217; word here.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s totally a mob,&#8221; Lewis replied. &#8220;It is without a doubt. There&#8217;s no other word for it.&#8221;
Baldwin continued to interrupt him as he tried to explain why the far-left activists were a mob, later saying she wanted to move past the &#8220;m-word.&#8221;
