&#8220;The View&#8221; host Sunny Hostin lashed out at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/brittany-mahomes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brittany Mahomes</a> — wife of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes — suggesting that because she once &#8220;liked&#8221; a Trump post on Instagram, she didn&#8217;t really understand the implications of her own interracial marriage.
Hostin made the comments during Wednesday&#8217;s broadcast of the ABC midday talk show, where despite acknowledging that no one else on the panel had planned to bring the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-thanks-brittany-mahomes-for-defending-presidents-2024-maga-platform" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mahomes&#8217;</a> marriage into the discussion, she plowed ahead with it anyway.

Hostin began by saying that it had given her hope to see an uptick in voter registrations after pop star Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), saying that she wanted to see &#8220;the Swift effect&#8221; help to drive more people away from supporting former President Donald Trump.
She then segued to Mahomes, adding, &#8220;To your initial point, I know you said we weren&#8217;t going to talk about it, but I was. It just seems to me that since she is in an interracial marriage, she should have known that to support a racist is problematic.&#8221;
&#8220;Her children are biracial, and her family is one of the families that in the 70s could not have lived in any of Donald Trump&#8217;s buildings,&#8221; Hostin continued, suggesting that either Mahomes was ignorant or she hadn&#8217;t yet had the &#8220;problematic&#8221; nature of her position explained to her. &#8220;So it just seems to me that maybe she&#8217;s just not that politically savvy or maybe she&#8217;s just not read in&#8230;&#8221;

By claiming that it was &#8220;problematic&#8221; for Mahomes to like a Trump post — the post in question simply listing a number of his 2024 policy priorities — Hostin appeared to assume that her politics must necessarily be in opposition to her husband&#8217;s. However, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/patrick-mahomes-reveals-why-he-wont-be-endorsing-a-presidential-candidate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Patrick Mahomes</a> has repeatedly stated his desire to stay out of politics altogether.

Kansas City Chiefs QB <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/patrick-mahomes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Patrick Mahomes</a> explained why he won’t be endorsing any presidential candidate this year, and said it is his place to remind people to do “their own research” when it comes to voting.
During a Chiefs <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9NT-Dz4qHI">press conference</a> on Wednesday, Mahomes was asked by reporters about former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-reacts-to-taylor-swifts-kamala-endorsement">President Donald Trump’s</a> comments earlier in the day in which Trump praised Mahomes&#8217; wife <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/brittany-mahomes">Brittany</a> after she liked his post outlining the 2024 Make America Great Again platform and then hit back at those who didn’t like what she’d done.
&#8220;I’ve always said, I don’t want my place or my platform to be used to endorse a candidate … either way,&#8221; Mahomes said. &#8220;I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research, and then make their best decision for them and their family.&#8221;
And Patrick explained that the ability to do so is &#8220;what makes America so great.&#8221;

“And we talked about it a while back, but I think if we can do that as a nation, I think we can get the best out of each other. … Whenever I&#8217;m hanging out with whoever, I&#8217;m not thinking about their political views,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I&#8217;m thinking about the people and how they treat other people.&#8221;
He was then pressed by another reporter if it affected him “one way or another” after Trump brought up Brittany’s name, praising her for allegedly being a big “Trump fan.”

&#8220;No, I think at the end of the day, it&#8217;s about me and my family and how we treat other people,&#8221; Patrick explained. &#8220;And I think you see Brittany does a lot in the community. I do a lot in the community to help bring people up and give other people opportunities to use their voice.”
The comments came after his teammate Travis Kelce’s pop star girlfriend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Taylor Swift</a> endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris over Trump following the ABC News Presidential Debate.
Swift called the VP a “steady-handed, gifted leader&#8221; and said she was voting for the Democratic nominee because she was “impressed” by Harris&#8217; “selection of running mate [Minnesota Gov.] @timwalz” for what she labeled his “support for “LGBTQ+ rights” and abortion.

Former President Donald Trump reacted to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taylor-swift">Taylor Swift</a>’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris following the ABC Presidential Debate.
On Wednesday morning during “<a href="https://x.com/ConservBrief/status/1833832221540602188">Fox and Friends</a>,” Trump called in and was asked what he thinks about Swift’s public support of Harris and he noted that she&#8217;s been a Democrat supporter.
&#8220;I actually like Mrs. Mahomes MUCH better, if you want to know the truth,” the former president told the hosts, referencing Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ wife <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-thanks-brittany-mahomes-for-defending-presidents-2024-maga-platform">Brittany Mahomes</a> who made headlines after she liked a Trump post and promptly went on defense against the “haters.”
“She&#8217;s a big Trump fan,” he added. “I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. She couldn&#8217;t &#8230; you couldn&#8217;t possibly endorse [President Joe] Biden.”

On Sunday, the 34-year-old singer and her beau Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce had some fun in the sun at the tennis tournament, where the two shared a VIP box with the Mahomes, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/09/09/sports/taylor-swift-and-travis-kelce-enjoy-double-date-with-patrick-and-brittany-mahomes-after-us-open-outing/">New York Post</a> reported.
The “Shake It Off” hitmaker and Kelce were then photographed looking stylish on their way to dinner in New York City at Meduza Mediterrania restaurant. Arriving separately — but to the same location — were the Kansas City Chiefs QB and his wife, the Post noted.
The group hanging out together comes amid speculation from some that there had been some rift between the ladies after Swift wasn’t seen hanging out with Brittany at the opening night of the Chiefs game in Arrowhead on Thursday.
