A retired <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a> judge, who was also a former prosecutor, allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday morning following a brief shootout with FBI agents trying to arrest him for bribery and corruption.
Sources <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/09/24/us-news/ex-nys-judge-prosecutor-apparently-kills-himself-as-fbi-arrives-to-arrest-him-on-corruption-rap/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the New York Post that Stewart Rosenwasser, 72, was the subject of an FBI investigation into bribery and corruption, and allegedly opened fire on federal agents when they approached his home in Orange County, New York. Sources <a href="https://abc7ny.com/post/retired-judge-stewart-rosenwasser-kills-campbell-hall-orange-county-home-fbi-arrive-arrest/15348982/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> ABC 7 that Rosenwasser pointed a gun at a federal agent, who then fired a shot.
Shortly after the shooting, Rosenwasser barricaded himself inside the home and allegedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 9:30 a.m., according to the Post’s law enforcement sources.
The FBI released a statement following the incident, saying the matter is under review.
&#8220;The FBI is reviewing an agent-involved shooting that occurred [Tuesday] morning in Campbell Hall, NY,” the statement said, according to ABC 7. &#8220;The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI&#8217;s Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide.&#8221;
Rossenwasser had been indicted by a federal grand jury on bribery charges, alleging that he had launched an investigation as a prosecutor in 2022 to help a longtime associate. That associate, Mout’z Soudani, had accused his sister and nephew of stealing about $2 million.

Rossenwasser allegedly pocketed $63,000 to rig the case against the nephew, the Post reported.
“Any progress iam [sic] anxious thanks,” Soudani, who was also named in the indictment, texted Rosenwasser on November 18, 2022, according to the 43-page indictment obtained by the Post.
“Waiting to talk to investigator,” Rosenwasser allegedly replied. “Should know something today.”
“Believe me. I’m putting maximum effort into this,” Rosenwasser also allegedly said. “We will utilize all available assets.”
On March 8, 2023, Rosenwasser charged Soudani’s family members with grand larceny for allegedly stealing the money. Arrest warrants were issued, and when the family members appeared in court, they asked Rosenwasser to recuse himself because of his previous representation of Soudani in the 1990s.
Rosenwasser denied their request.
In June 2023, however, the District Attorney’s office removed Rosenwasser from the case. By March 2024, the case against Soudani’s sister was dropped and the nephew pleaded guilty to grand larceny in exchanged for a reduced sentence, the Post reported.
The sister and nephew later filed a $22.5 million lawsuit claiming the case against them was tainted due to Rosenwasser’s involvement. The scandal exploded in July when the FBI raided Rosenwasser’s home. Rosenwasser was also forced to resign from the District Attorney’s office at that time.
Rosenwasser’s son, Jason, seemed to throw water on reports that his father committed suicide.
“The only thing I feel compelled to point out is that the local news headlines are reporting that my father fatally shot himself while also reporting in the same article that the FBI field office issued a statement calling it an agent-involved shooting,” he told the outlet.

Jury selection began on Monday in the trial of Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bob-menendez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bob Menendez</a> (D-NJ), who is accused of taking bribes to wield his influence to benefit foreign nations. 
Federal prosecutors have charged Menendez with 16 criminal counts, <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/05/13/bob-menendez-trial-new-jersey-corruption" target="_blank" rel="noopener">including</a> conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right, a charge accusing him of conspiring to act as a foreign agent for Egypt, obstruction of justice, and other related corruption charges. The allegations include claims that Menendez was bribed with hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, gold bars, and a Mercedes-Benz. 
Menendez was the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee when federal investigators say the bribery scheme took place. After he was first charged in September 2023, he stepped down as chair, though he is still on the committee. 
The trial, taking place in Manhattan, and expected to last weeks. Wael Hana and Fred Daibes, two New Jersey businessmen accused of being involved in the bribery scheme, are being tried with Menendez. A third alleged associate of Menendez, Jose Uribe, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/businessman-pleads-guilty-to-corruption-charges-will-testify-against-new-jersey-democrat-senator" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pled guilty</a> in March to charges of conspiracy to commit bribery, honest services wire fraud, obstruction of justice, and tax evasion.
Mendendez’s wife, Nadine, will be tried in July over accusations that she was part of the bribery scheme. During his plea deal, Uribe said that Nandine was given a Mercedes-Benz with the expectation Menendez <a href="https://apnews.com/article/menendez-uribe-federal-bribery-indictment-a7f1d893f1ee387f079161011e9dd37e?taid=65e2224817ae090001089d55&amp;utm_campaign=TrueAnthem&amp;utm_medium=AP&amp;utm_source=Twitter">would</a> use “his power and influence as a United States senator to get a favorable outcome and to stop all investigations related to one of my associates.”

According to federal prosecutors, the alleged bribes were intended to benefit Egypt and protect Hana, Daibes, and Uribe. 
“Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value,” the indictment said. Federal authorities reportedly found gold bars and cash stuffed throughout the senator’s home that they traced back to the businessmen Menendez allegedly worked with. 
Menendez is also accused of ghostwriting a letter to other senators to urge them to support ending a hold on $300 million in military aid to Egypt, a letter reportedly written in coordination with his wife and the businessmen in question. Other charges say he attempted to use his influence to benefit Qatar. 
The New Jersey Democrat has pleaded not guilty to the charges and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-senator-menendez-poised-to-blame-his-wife-for-alleged-crimes-reports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> plans to blame Nadine. Menendez previously faced federal corruption charges in 2017, but the case ended in a mistrial.

HBO late-night talk show host John Oliver offered to pay Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas a million dollars per year and give him a loaded tour bus if he retires from the nation&#8217;s highest court.
The leftist comedian, who was <a href="https://twitter.com/Arightside/status/1759898331445096712">accused</a> online of trying to &#8220;bribe&#8221; Thomas, made the offer on Sunday night: &#8220;One million dollars a year for the rest of your life, if you simply agree to leave the Supreme Court immediately and never come back.&#8221;
&#8220;Clarence Thomas is arguably the most consequential justice on the court right now, and he’s never really seemed to like the job. He said, ‘It’s not worth doing for the grief.’ So, what if he can keep the luxury perks he clearly enjoys without having to endure all of that grief,&#8221; Oliver continued. &#8220;If you watch our show, you know jokes aren’t really our thing. A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/u-s-navy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Navy</a> service member was sentenced to just over two years in prison after he pled guilty to being bribed to send sensitive military information to a Chinese intelligence officer. 
Petty Officer Wenheng Zhao, a 26-year-old from Monterey Park, California, was <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/us-navy-sailor-sentenced-27-months-prison-transmitting-sensitive-us-military-information" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sentenced</a> to just 27 months in prison and ordered to pay a $5,500 fine after his guilty plea for one count of conspiring with an intelligence officer and one count of receiving a bribe. Zhao <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/us-navy-service-member-pleads-guilty-transmitting-sensitive-us-military-information-chinese" target="_blank" rel="noopener">could</a> have faced up to 20 years in prison, 15 years for the conspiracy charge and 5 years for the bribery charge.
“Mr. Zhao betrayed his solemn oath to defend his country and endangered those who serve in the U.S. military,” said Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division. “Today, he is being held to account for those crimes. The Justice Department is committed to combating the Chinese government’s efforts to undermine our nation’s security and holding accountable those who violate our laws as part of those efforts.” 
He was paid at least $14,866 by a Chinese intelligence officer for sending information on the U.S. Navy operational security, military trainings and exercises, and critical infrastructure, according to the DOJ. 
Rebeccah Heinrichs, senior fellow at Hudson Institute and the director of its Keystone Defense Initiative, slammed the “slap on the wrist” that Zhao received.
“He stole secrets about things that could get Americans killed, things related to operational security, military training, and key facilities” Heinrichs told The Daily Wire. “He did it over and over and sold it to our chief enemy. His slap on the wrist sentence is shocking and sends the wrong message at a tense time when China is relentlessly trying to recruit agents.”
The Navy service member, who had a security clearance, worked at Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, California. The DOJ said that the bribery took place from August 2021 to May 2023 during which Zhao went into restricted locations to obtain information. 
The DOJ said that the information given to the Chinese intelligence officer included the plans of a large-scale training exercise in the Pacific and operational orders and documents on Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar system in Okinawa, Japan.

“Zhao betrayed his country and disgraced himself when he accepted bribes from an intelligence officer with the People’s Republic of China,” said U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada for the Central District of California. “As a result, he has now been removed from the military and will serve time in federal prison. Today’s sentence shows that my office will swiftly act to root out and punish those who seek to undermine our nation’s security.”
The investigation was led by the FBI Los Angeles Field Office’s Counterintelligence and Cyber Division, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and the IRS-Criminal Investigation unit.

<a href="https://abc7ny.com/bob-menendez-superseding-indictment-senator-new-jersey/14261380/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">As reported</a> on Tuesday by New York ABC News affiliate WABC, a second superseding indictment against the New Jersey senator alleges that he took &#8220;luxury watches&#8221; and other &#8220;things of value&#8221; in exchange for speaking positively about Qatar.
Co-defendant Fred Daibes is quoted in the indictment as asking Menendez, &#8220;How about one of these?&#8221; — after which he sent the senator a photo of the watches in question, which ranged in value from $10,000-$24,000.
On September 29, 2021 — just two days later — Daibes sent Menendez another message. This one addressed a Senate resolution that would show support for Qatar — and at the time, Daibes was also working to secure a real estate deal with the Qatari Investment Company.

MSNBC Segment Goes Sideways: New Menendez Allegations Surface While His Daughter Is Guest-Hosting

At least four gold bars that federal investigators recovered during their search of Sen. Bob Menendez&#8217;s (D-NJ) home are directly linked to one of the men accused of bribing Menendez.
In 2013, businessman Fred Daibes filed a police report stating that he was the victim of an armed robbery and that the assailants took $500,000 in cash from him and nearly two dozen gold bars.
Police later caught the suspects and Daibes&#8217; property was returned to him, including the gold bars. According to Daibes, who had to sign a document certifying that the property was his, the gold bars all had unique serial numbers that would never be duplicated onto another gold bar.
&#8220;Each gold bar has its own serial number,&#8221; he told investigators at the time. &#8220;They’re all stamped … you’ll never see two stamped the same way.&#8221;
Four of the gold bars that investigators recovered from Menendez&#8217;s home have the same serial numbers as four of the 22 gold bars that were stolen and later returned to Daibes.
Daibes was charged in the federal indictment for allegedly conspiring to bribe Menendez and conspiring to commit fraud.
The <a href="https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23989441/us_v_menendez_et_al_indictment.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">indictment says</a> that Menendez and his wife had a corrupt relationship with New Jersey businessmen Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes, who allegedly gave the senator bribes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. According to the DOJ, the bribes were intended to protect the businessmen and to benefit Egypt.
NBC legal analyst Danny Cevallas said, &#8220;All of this spells bad news for Senator Menendez because the chain of custody – it appears – is going to be really easy to prove up.&#8221;
Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-fetterman" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Fetterman</a> (D-PA) called for Menendez to be expelled from the Senate last week after the U.S. House of Representatives expelled now-former Rep. George Santos (R-NY).
“Senator Menendez, he needs to go,” Fetterman said. “And if you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow somebody like Menendez to remain in the Senate? And, you know, Santos is kind of, lies were almost, you know, funny. And like, you know, he, you know, landed on the moon and that kind of stuff.”
“Whereas, you know, I think, you know, Menendez, I think is really a senator for Egypt. You know, not New Jersey. So I really think he needs to go,” Fetterman said. “He has the right for his day in court and all that, but he doesn’t have the right to have those kinds of votes and things that — that’s not a right. And I think we need to make that kind of decision to send him out.”

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) called on Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to resign from the U.S. Senate on Monday after Menendez was charged with multiple federal felonies last week in connection with an alleged bribery scheme.
“Senator Menendez has broken the public trust and should resign from the U.S. Senate,” <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/news/2023/09/us-sen-sherrod-brown-calls-on-indicted-sen-bob-menendez-to-resign.html">said</a> Brown, who chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.
Brown is only the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-fetterman-calls-on-bob-menendez-to-resign-from-u-s-senate">second</a> U.S. Senator to call on Menendez to resign after Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) did so on Saturday.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D) said that the allegations in the indictment were “deeply disturbing” because they “implicate national security and the integrity of our criminal justice system.”
“The alleged facts are so serious that they compromise the ability of Senator Menendez to effectively represent the people of our state,” he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-democrats-begin-pushing-menendez-to-resign-as-he-steps-down-from-chairmanship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “Therefore, I am calling for his immediate resignation.”

Menendez was forced to step down as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee because of Senate Democrat bylaws but he has insisted that he is innocent and suggested that the charges stem from a vast conspiracy of people who are trying to take him down.

“For 30 years, I have withdrawn thousands of dollars in cash from my personal savings account, which I have kept for emergencies, and because of the history of my family facing confiscation in Cuba,” he said. “Now, this may seem old-fashioned, but these were monies drawn from my personal savings account based on the income that I have lawfully derived over those 30 years. I look forward to addressing other issues at trial.”

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has hired the lawyer representing President Joe Biden&#8217;s son, Hunter Biden, after Menendez was indicted last week on federal corruption charges.
CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/24/menendez-hires-hunter-biden-lawyer-for-bribery-case.html">reported</a> that Menendez hired Abbe Lowell to represent him in the case — the same lawyer that he hired in 2015 to represent him in a similar corruption case, although legal experts have said that the evidence in the current case is much stronger.
Lowell was hired by Hunter Biden after his plea deal fell apart in federal court last month which eventually led to prosecutors charging Hunter Biden on firearm-related charges.

“Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value,” the indictment said. Federal authorities reportedly found gold bars and nearly $500,000 in cash stuffed throughout the senator’s home that they traced back to the businessmen Menendez allegedly worked with.
Several top Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), have called on Menendez to resign over the scandal, while many others, especially in the U.S. Senate, have remained silent on the issue.
Menendez <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-sen-bob-menendez-suggests-vast-conspiracy-is-after-him-after-hes-hit-with-federal-charges">responded</a> to the indictment by suggesting that he was the victim of a vast conspiracy that was plotting against him, in-part because he was Latino.

Former President Donald Trump called on all Senate Democrats to resign following the federal indictment against Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) last week, claiming that they all knew about the alleged bribes he took.
The indictment, unsealed on Friday, says that Menendez and his wife had a corrupt relationship with New Jersey businessmen Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes, who allegedly gave the senator bribes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. According to the DOJ, the bribes were intended to protect the businessmen and to benefit Egypt.
Menendez faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted of the charges, which include conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, and conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right.
&#8220;Senate Democrats should all resign based on Senator Bob Menendez!&#8221; Trump wrote on social media. &#8220;They all knew what was going on, and the way he lived.&#8221;
Trump then asked why the FBI did not raid Senate Democrats&#8217; homes, though agents did raid Menendez&#8217;s home.
During the raid, FBI agents recovered &#8220;cash, gold, [a] luxury vehicle, and home furnishings&#8221; that were part of the alleged bribery scheme, according to the indictment.
Trump then said that what President Joe Biden had in &#8220;some of his many homes&#8221; was likely worse than what Menendez had in his home. Biden and his son Hunter have been accused of accepting millions of dollars in bribes from a Ukrainian energy executive in exchange taking action as then-vice president in the Obama administration.
&#8220;I wonder how much they got paid for Rigging the Election? Menendez is one of many, a small timer at that,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;EVERY DEMOCRAT SHOULD RESIGN FROM THE SENATE! Our Border’s are Broken, our Election’s are Rigged.&#8221;
Menendez was previously indicted by the DOJ under the Obama administration in a case that alleged that he took bribes from Dr. Salomon Melgen, a wealthy Florida doctor, in exchange for political favors. Menendez was never convicted due to a hung jury — while a judge acquitted him of some charges — and the DOJ under Trump dropped the case.
Melgen was <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdfl/pr/south-florida-doctor-sentenced-medicare-fraud-scheme">sentenced</a> to 17 years in prison for after being convicted on 67 counts of health care fraud that totaled $42 million.
Trump later commuted Melgen&#8217;s prison sentence after &#8220;Menendez urged him to grant clemency to his old friend,&#8221; the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/09/22/sen-bob-menendez-beat-corruption-case-with-nude-brazilian/">reported</a>.

Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/chuck-grassley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chuck Grassley</a> (R-IA) said Tuesday that most media outlets were not asking crucial questions on whether the FBI and the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/department-of-justice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Justice Department</a> followed normal procedures when investigating Biden family bribery allegations or brushed the information “under the rug.”
Grassley made the comments from the Senate floor when discussing the FBI-generated FD-1023 form he released last week. The form <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-biden-bribery-file-released-burisma-head-says-he-was-coerced-into-paying-bidens-10-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">featured allegations</a> that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter pressured Burisma co-founder and CEO Mykola Zlochevsky into paying them millions of dollars each in exchange for pressuring the Ukrainian government to fire prosecutor Viktor Shokin.
&#8220;Much of the media&#8217;s reporting has missed the essential question,&#8221; Grassley <a href="https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/grassley-demands-answers-fbi-doj-response-biden-bribery-allegations?utm_source=daily&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=newsletter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;That essential question is this: Did the Justice Department and the FBI follow normal investigative process and procedures to run the information down or did they sweep this information under the rug?&#8221;
Grassley said that the government engaged in “obstructive conduct” by making key redactions from the FD-1023 when it provided a copy of the document to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, including “references to the alleged audio recordings between then-Vice President Biden, Hunter Biden, and the foreign national.&#8221;
&#8220;It also redacted references to text messages and financial records that allegedly existed to prove the criminal act was done. Those redactions are an obstructive conduct by the United States. Why? Because this was an unclassified document. It&#8217;s not even marked law enforcement sensitive,&#8221; Grassley added. 
The longtime senator said that his main goal was to hold the DOJ and the FBI accountable. 
According to the FD-1023, Zlochevsky allegedly <a href="https://www.grassley.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/fd_1023_obtained_by_senator_grassley_-_biden.pdf">told</a> the FBI’s confidential human source (CHS) that during a meeting in August 2016, it cost him “5 (million) to pay one Biden, and 5 (million) to another.”
Zlochevsky allegedly said that it was “too late to change his decision,” which CHS understood as meaning that Zlochevsky “already had paid the Bidens, presumably to ‘deal with Shokin.’”
An addendum to the report from June 2020 says that Zlochevsky told CHS that he had “17 recordings” involving his interactions, including two with Joe Biden. The other 15 were with Hunter Biden.

In reaction to this and other pieces of evidence obtained by lawmakers, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy indicated that the House could be moving closer toward an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden over the bribery allegations.
McCarthy <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/speaker-mccarthy-indicates-republicans-are-moving-toward-impeachment-inquiry-of-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said in a Monday interview</a> that other alleged bribes to the Biden family have come from countries like Ukraine, Russia, Romania, and China.

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called for an investigation into President Joe Biden during an interview over the weekend inlight of an FBI form that was released this week that outlined allegations of corruption against Biden.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-biden-bribery-file-released-burisma-head-says-he-was-coerced-into-paying-bidens-10-million">FBI-generated FD-1023 form</a>, released by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), alleges that Burisma co-founder and CEO Mykola Zlochevsky told a highly credible FBI confidential human source that he was &#8220;coerced&#8221; into paying Biden and his son Hunter each $5 million to get a Ukrainian investigation into his company shut down.
&#8220;I have avoided criticizing the President because I, you know, I&#8217;m trying to bring people together and and some of the vitriol, the poison that&#8217;s made politics so poisonous,&#8221; Kennedy told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on &#8220;Sunday Morning Futures.&#8221;
&#8220;I think though the issues that are now coming up are worrying enough that we really need a real investigation of what happened,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I mean, these revelations about the, you know, where you have Burisma — which is a notoriously corrupt company that paid out apparently $10 million to Hunter and his dad — if that&#8217;s true, then it is really troubling.&#8221;
Kennedy said that in addition to the need for the allegation to be thoroughly investigated, Americans need to be worried about the politicization from federal law enforcement agencies.
&#8220;I think that that&#8217;s something that every American needs to worry about and our federal agencies, which used to be above politics, and now become weaponized as political instruments, and that, again, is another really damaging trend for our democracy,&#8221; he said.

Damning new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-threatened-chinese-business-partner-for-payment-i-am-sitting-here-with-my-father" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revelations</a> about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter from IRS whistleblowers are “the worst emerging corruption scandals” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/ben-shapiro" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ben Shapiro</a> has ever seen, the Daily Wire editor emeritus said Friday.
Shapiro, a co-founder of The Daily Wire, made the comments on his daily <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-1753-submersible-imploded-and-the-navy-knew-all-along-member-exclusive-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcast</a> while discussing new claims from a whistleblower who released texts that appear to show Hunter Biden threatening a Chinese businessman named Henry Zhao.
&#8220;The most significant allegation is that there is a WhatsApp message that&#8217;s actually included in the records here in which Hunter Biden is openly telling people at a Chinese company that they need to pay him money, and in this message, Hunter Biden literally says, &#8216;My dad is sitting next to me and he wants you to pay the money,'&#8221; Shapiro said. 
On Thursday, the House Ways and Means Committee released a text from Hunter to Zhao. The message, from July 30, 2017 on WhatsApp, appears to show Hunter throwing around his father’s influence to get some kind of deal done. 
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father,” a copy of the text provided by the committee reads. 
Shapiro said that the text was “insane” and showed that Biden had been dishonest the whole time. 
“That text from Hunter Biden saying, ‘I&#8217;m sitting next to daddy pay up or or my daddy is going to do something to you.’ That&#8217;s insane. And it means that Joe&#8217;s been lying this whole time,” Shapiro said. 
In response, The Daily Wire host said Republicans in Congress should lean even harder into their investigations of the Bidens. Aside from his dealings in China, the Bidens are also implicated in an alleged multi-million dollar bribery scheme involving Ukraine. 
“Well, if the congressional Republicans don&#8217;t now subpoena pretty much everyone in law enforcement. I don&#8217;t know what the hell they&#8217;re doing or what they think their role is in Congress,” Shapiro said.
Hours after the damning message was revealed, and following an announcement of a plea deal on tax crimes, Hunter Biden was a prominent figure hours later at the White House India State Dinner Thursday evening.
