Daily Wire Editor Emeritus <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ben-shapiro">Ben Shapiro</a> joined <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/brian-williams">Brian Williams</a> for his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2024-election">election night</a> coverage on Amazon Prime Live to discuss early results and what they meant.
“I think that what you’re seeing is a breakdown of much of the identity politics that the Democratic Party has relied upon for voter turnout for several election cycles at this point. They were counting on a very heavy break in the Hispanic vote in favor of Kamala Harris. That doesn’t seem to be materializing,” Shapiro said.
“The shift in the Hispanic community toward President Trump – toward Republicans more broadly – is quite real,” he continued, mentioning that some of the exit polls indicate that Trump could capture 45% of the Hispanic vote. He said black male voters are also showing up for Trump.
The Daily Wire co-founder mentioned that the Republican nominee appeals to these demographics because he doesn’t pander to them like the Democrats do.
“I think that has something to do with, no matter what else you think of President Trump, he tends to make the same appeal to pretty much everybody. He really doesn’t try to break people down by ethnic group in sort of the same way the Democrats traditionally have, making a separate campaign for White Dudes for Harris.”

“The identity politics era may be coming to a close – we can all hope that’s the case,” Shapiro added.
Williams and Shapiro also discussed Florida’s “huge movement to the Right” since coming under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis despite it being a bellwether state less than a decade ago. Shapiro said he was not surprised when his home state was called for Trump.
The pair also discussed whether October 7 factored into early voting results, with Shapiro saying it was too soon to tell with so many states up in the air.
Williams was a former news anchor on NBC before joining the journalists at MSNBC as the host of their political news show, “The 11th Hour.” He announced in October that he’d be hosting election night coverage on Amazon.

CNN is reportedly closing in on a permanent host to replace Chris Cuomo, whom former president Jeff Zucker fired last December. Two names are said to top the list: Chris Wallace and Brian Williams.
“Former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace is one name being floated internally to take the key 9 p.m. slot,” <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/cnns-new-boss-signals-for-truce-with-fox-news">reported</a> The Daily Beast. Wallace ended his 18-year stint at Fox News Channel last December, just days after the network cut ties with Cuomo. Then-CNN president Jeff Zucker hired the long-running host of “Fox News Sunday” as part of the network’s subscription-based streaming service, CNN+. As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chris-wallace-slammed-after-joining-cnn-joined-a-network-packed-with-sex-pests">reported</a> at the time:
“I am thrilled to join CNN+. After decades in broadcast and cable news, I am excited to explore the world of streaming,” Wallace said in a statement. “I look forward to the new freedom and flexibility streaming affords in interviewing major figures across the news landscape—and finding new ways to tell stories. As I embark on this adventure, I am honored and delighted to join Jeff Zucker and his great team. I can’t wait to get started.”
Observers such as Howard Stern <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/who-the-hell-is-going-to-pay-for-cnn-howard-stern-mocks-chris-wallaces-career-change">poured</a> savage criticism on Wallace, scorning his decision to leave the top-rated network in cable news to move to a failing network.
Others said CNN would be a more natural fit, given Wallace’s moderation of the 2020 presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden, in which he regularly interrupted the Republican. “Maybe he can slide into the 9 pm slot at CNN and talk endlessly about his two favorite subjects: white supremacy and global warming,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chris-wallace-announces-he-is-joining-cnn-social-media-erupts-good-riddance-to-this-fraud">said</a> radio host Gerry Callahan. “Good riddance to this fraud.”
The other “name that continues to pop up” to replace Cuomo “is Brian Williams,” The Daily Beast added. Williams hosted MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour” for five years, until he retired last fall. The show gave Williams a chance to redeem himself after he left his position as anchor of the “NBC Nightly News” when he got caught <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/brian-williams-anchor-caught-misleading-about-iraq-retires-from-msnbc">exaggerating the danger he faced</a> while a correspondent in war-torn Iraq. MSNBC replaced Williams with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-msnbc-perplexed-why-portland-police-are-quitting-en-masse">Stephanie Ruhle</a>, the former daytime anchor, who once implied that parents’ concerns over racially- and sexually-charged public school curricula “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/host-who-suggested-loudoun-county-rape-not-a-major-issue-to-replace-brian-williams-at-msnbc">aren’t even major issues</a>.”
Sources close to Williams have <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/11/10/brian-williams-talking-to-abc-cnn-about-a-comeback/">said</a> for months that the 62-year-old anchor “thinks he has one more swing at bat” at a major network. “He still views himself as a world-class, primetime anchor.”
“Whatever his new job is, it is not going to be at 11 o’clock,” a source told the New York Post. “This is his last swing at-bat. He’s going to do this right.”
Williams had been in talks with ABC and CBS, and he reportedly had friendly relations with Zucker, who was himself fired from CNN last month.
CNN had previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chris-cuomo-out-at-siriusxm-radio-show">terminated</a> Cuomo over allegations that he had sexually harassed an unnamed woman. Last September, Cuomo’s former ABC News colleague Shelley Ross <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chris-cuomos-former-producer-accuses-him-of-sexual-harassment-lowering-one-hand-to-firmly-grab-and-squeeze-the-cheek-of-my-buttock">accused</a> Cuomo of  “lowering one hand to firmly grab and squeeze the cheek of my buttock” at a party.
The question of who fills the anchor’s chair will fall to CNN’s incoming CEO Chris Licht, who is <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/28/media/chris-licht-cnn-chief-executive/index.html">scheduled</a> to take over the low-rated cable news network on May 1. Licht has served as executive producer of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

Brian Williams, dismissed as &#8220;NBC Nightly News&#8221; anchor in 2015 for serial embellishment and lying, has decided to walk away from his MSNBC show &#8220;The 11th Hour.&#8221; CNN&#8217;s Brian Stelter, from a competing network, previewed the last show: &#8220;There&#8217;s no word on what the Thursday finale will entail, but here&#8217;s hoping for a sendoff befitting his position.&#8221;
Williams should be sent off with a lump of coal.
Stelter wasn&#8217;t quite as bad as one of his favorite Sunday-show guests, journalism professor and former Baltimore Sun reporter David Zurawik. &#8220;I have separation anxiety about Brian Williams leaving at 11:00 because it means so much. We&#8217;re losing big stars in this medium and I don&#8217;t know what the impact is.&#8221; He also included Chris Cuomo and Rachel Maddow in this lickspittle sendoff.
Separation anxiety? This is not a case of &#8220;sometimes when we touch, the honesty&#8217;s too much.&#8221;
In case anyone forgot, Williams uncorked a series of tall tales that caused him to resemble Jon Lovitz&#8217;s &#8220;Saturday Night Live&#8221; character Tommy Flanagan, the Pathological Liar, who said he was married to actress Morgan Fairchild and added, &#8220;Yeah, that&#8217;s the ticket!&#8221;
Williams claimed Secret Service agents helped him meet and shake hands with Pope John Paul II at Catholic University in 1979. He claimed he was present at the Brandenburg Gate in 1989 when the Berlin Wall fell, although the only American broadcaster on the scene was his NBC predecessor, Tom Brokaw.
The worst exaggeration of his exploits was in war zones, imagining himself in great peril. He claimed he was on a Chinook helicopter hit by a rocket-propelled grenade in Iraq, at one point comparing his experience to &#8220;&#8216;Black Hawk Down&#8217; meets &#8216;Saving Private Ryan.'&#8221; He also claimed that he not only flew into Iraq in 2003 with Navy SEAL Team 6 but they later sent him gifts and souvenirs from the raid carried out to kill Osama bin Laden.
The conventional wisdom in 2015 revolved around whether Williams could remain in journalism at all after this debacle. Then NBC picked him up, dusted him off and put him on MSNBC, first as a &#8220;breaking news&#8221; specialist and then on the &#8220;11th Hour&#8221; show, which then doubled from 30 to 60 minutes.
Williams, like everyone else on MSNBC, spends his on-air hours ripping on Republicans, like deriding Sen. Ted Cruz in May as &#8220;Kremlin Cruz.&#8221; But he&#8217;s most vividly remembered as one of the most embarrassing Obama-polishers in the press. Twice in 2008, he handed a glowing magazine cover story to his hero, Barack Obama, and asked him to comment on how wonderful he felt about it.
During that year&#8217;s Republican convention, Williams asked Michelle Obama, &#8220;What of the attacks has busted through to you? What makes you angriest at John McCain, the Republicans? What&#8217;s being said about your husband that you want to shout from the mountaintops is not true?&#8221;
When Obama won the presidency the first time, Williams announced: &#8220;This nation woke up this morning changed. As one columnist put it, America matured in 2008 by choosing Barack Obama.&#8221;
All of this underlines Williams fell to the floor in his obsequiousness toward the Obamas. But he was shameless enough to mock others as up someone&#8217;s intestine in June. &#8220;If (Texas Gov. Greg) Abbott wants to, say, run for president, he must be more further ensconced in a particular area of Trump&#8217;s anatomy than even (Gov.) Ron DeSantis of Florida. And that won&#8217;t be easy.&#8221;
The Republican half of America will have no anxiety whatsoever over Williams separating from his MSNBC safe space.

Brian Williams, who anchored the “NBC Nightly News” for more than 10 years before being caught exaggerating the danger he faced while covering Operation Iraqi Freedom, has announced he is stepping down from his current position as a talk show host on MSNBC.
“Following much reflection, and after 28 years with the company, I have decided to leave NBC upon the completion of my current contract in December,” Williams <a href="https://twitter.com/11thHour/status/1458509769271087113">said</a> at the end of his show, “The 11th Hour,” on Tuesday night. “I have been truly blessed. I have been allowed to spend almost half my life with one company. NBC is a part of me and always will be: 28 years, 38 countries, eight Olympic Games, seven presidential elections, half a dozen presidents, a few wars, and one” episode of “SNL.”

Williams first faced national backlash more than a decade after succeeding Tom Brokaw as anchor of NBC’s nightly newscast. NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/longtime-anchor-brian-williams-leaving-nbc-28-years-rcna5042">noted</a> in its coverage of Williams’ resignation:
<blockquote>In 2015, when he was the anchor of “NBC Nightly News,” Williams was suspended by the network for six months after he <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/brian-williams-offers-clarification-about-2003-iraq-incident-n300461">told an inaccurate story about his helicopter’s having been hit</a> by a rocket-propelled grenade.
He admitted on the air that he had “made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago.”</blockquote>
Williams <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/near-death-experiences-a-look-back-at-famous-figures-whose-claims-drew-criticism">claimed</a> his helicopter had been “forced down after being hit by an RPG” while covering the second Iraq war on March 24, 2003. In reality, Iraqi forces had attacked a Chinook helicopter that passed over the area earlier in the day, and Williams’ helicopter had been forced down due to inclement weather.
“After the suspension, Williams moved to MSNBC, where he later launched ‘The 11th Hour,’” NBC noted.
NBC officials have portrayed every step of Williams’ professional decline as his own choice. After the 2015 controversy over Williams’ misleading statements, an NBC executive <a href="https://money.cnn.com/2015/02/09/media/brian-williams-scandal/index.html">said</a> that Williams chose to “bench himself” by stepping aside as anchor of the “NBC Nightly News.” He was replaced by current anchor Lester Holt.
“My return years later was my choice, as was launching ‘The 11th Hour,’” insisted Williams in his statement. He added that he wanted his show to air on MSNBC outside prime time. “I wanted it to be called ‘The 11th Hour,’ as it was late in the 2016 campaign back then, and I wanted it to air at 11 p.m. Eastern time,” he wrote.
An anonymous “source close to Williams” <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/09/media/brian-williams-leaving-nbc-news-msnbc/index.html">told</a> CNN that NBC offered Williams a new contract, which the host declined.
Williams continued to stir controversy at MSNBC. On the eve of the 77th anniversary of D-Day, he aired a video produced by the Lincoln Project which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/msnbcs-brian-williams-equates-antifa-with-d-day-veterans">equated</a> the U.S. troops who stormed Normandy with the black-clad, often-violent radicals of Antifa.
In April 2019, Williams demanded that President Donald Trump’s legal counsel, Jay Sekulow, tell him how the administration could “get off with that characterization this morning … that there was ‘no collusion’” between President Trump and the Kremlin during the 2016 presidential campaign. As The Daily Wire r<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-msnbcs-brian-williams-challenges-trumps-james-barrett">eported</a>:
<blockquote>Sekulow responded by simply reading directly from the second page of Mueller’s now publicly available <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/read-robert-muellers-redacted-russia-report">report</a>. “Well, page 2 of the document says, ‘the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities,’” Sekulow read.</blockquote>
To his credit, Williams admitted last month that the legacy media tend to live in a sequestered bubble of fellow liberals. “The press corps — the people we read and the people we see all day long on cable news — tend to live in blue dots. No fault of their own — it’s where their employers are located. But it helps explain why the press corps largely was shocked at the rise of the Tea Party, shocked at the election of Donald Trump,” he said.
Williams closed his statement by promising to return to the airways at an undisclosed time.
“There are many things I want to do, and I’ll pop up again somewhere,” said Williams. “I will reflect on the kindness people have shown me, and I will pay it forward.”

Brian Williams, Anchor Caught Misleading About Iraq, Retires From MSNBC

Brian Williams has a troubled relationship with the truth. After all, he made up a story out of thin air that he&#8217;d been fired upon by rockets when he was a war correspondent, then lied about it until he finally admitted it was all false. NBC promptly booted the anchor of &#8220;The Nightly News&#8221; off the air.
But Williams, who has since returned to sister station MSNBC with a late-night show called &#8220;11th Hour,&#8221; had a sudden burst of honesty on Friday.
&#8220;I have always believed we should be more critical of ourselves,&#8221; Williams said of the media. &#8220;The press corps &#8212; the people we read and the people we see all day long on cable news &#8212; tend to live in blue dots. No fault of their own &#8212; it&#8217;s where their employers are located. But it helps explain why the press corps largely was shocked at the rise of the Tea Party, shocked at the election of Donald Trump.&#8221;
&#8220;Out beyond the last exit for a Whole Foods, people have been listening to Steve Bannon and Trumpers have been running for town and city council and boards of ed, and this is happening in town after town across what is still a very red country,&#8221; Williams said, referring to the former Trump aide.
Then guest Baratunde Thurston, noting that Williams hadn&#8217;t exactly asked him a question, mused on Republican voters, saying they vote Republican because they feel fear on racial issues.
Williams, the former anchor for NBC News, got caught up in a scandal in 2015. Williams claimed he was in the helicopter that had been hit by a grenade while in Iraq in 2003. As the whole tale unraveled, Williams read a statement on the nightly news apologizing for his characterization of the episode.
“After a ground fire incident in the desert during the Iraq war invasion, I made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago,” he said. “It did not take long to hear from some brave men and women in the air crews who were also in that desert. I want to apologize. I said I was traveling in an aircraft that was hit by [rocket-propelled grenade] fire. I was instead in a following aircraft. . . . This was a bungled attempt by me to thank one special veteran and, by extension, our brave military men and women, veterans everywhere, those who have served while I did not.”
The incident mirrors another with former U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton. In March 2008, giving a foreign policy speech on Iraq about her days as first lady and a trip to Tuzla, Bosnia, she said: “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead, we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”
Right after the speech, she was asked about the sniper fire. “There was no greeting ceremony, and we basically were told to run to our cars. Now, that is what happened,” she said.
But a video of the arrival ceremony showed Clinton walking calmly across the tarmac to meet a little girl who read her a poem.

Brian Williams Admits Media Live In Liberal Bubble, Are Out of Touch

On the eve of the 77th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, MSNBC aired an ad from The Lincoln Project that called the soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy members of “Antifa” — the left-wing group responsible for mass political violence nationwide.
Brian Williams closed Friday’s edition of “The 11th Hour” by showing a portion of the ad, which opens by asking, “Who is Antifa?”
Williams presented the video as a patriotic homage to the Greatest Generation.“Last thing before we go tonight, an important anniversary [is] coming up this weekend,” Williams said. “We hope you can take a moment and remember it.”
He went on to call Operation Overlord “beyond bold; it was outlandish. Over 150,000 men invad[ed] the French coastline under withering German fire to begin their march across Europe, where they would go on to win World War II 336 days later.”
“While others will debate whether or not we could possibly mount such a thing today as broken as we are, there was a time when we saved the world from tyranny and fascism,” Williams continued. “If it wasn&#8217;t our finest hour, it&#8217;s hard to say what was. And the folks at The Lincoln Project are out with a reminder to all.”
A portion of the ad transcript praised by Williams reads as follows:
<blockquote>They stormed the beaches of Normandy, parachuted into the French countryside, and gave their lives to face down and fight back against fascism. They took down Nazi machine gun nests, tore apart the Third Reich strongholds, liberated concentration camps, liberated France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, anywhere Antifa saw fascism they fearlessly, and relentlessly, annihilated it. Fascism was defeated because of patriots like these — proud Americans who knew that the fight against fascists was not simply a battle between opposing nations, it was a war against humanity, a war that isn’t nice but cannot be lost. A war we still fight today.</blockquote>
As the narrator says the word “today,” the ad abruptly switches to footage of President Donald Trump.
The ad then returns to scenes from liberated France and Germany as the narrator intones, “Anti-fascism: It’s not a cable news talking point. It’s an American ideal that should be memorialized, because it was paid for in blood.”
The ad closes with a picture of a U.S. military cemetery — and, of course, a link to donate to the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/deplorable-and-predatory-behavior-the-lincoln-project-condemns-cofounder-after-nyt-reports-he-allegedly-sexually-harassed-14-year-old-boy">scandal-plagued Lincoln Project</a>.

The attempt to whitewash or sanitize Antifa, a violent group of anarchist street thugs, is not exactly new. Last year, National Public Radio’s national political correspondent, Mara Liasson, retweeted a map of the D-Day invasion with the <a href="https://twitter.com/maraliasson/status/1269390712291893248">words</a>, “Biggest antifa rally in history.”
After the violent clashes in Charlottesville, CNN’s Don Lemon defended Antifa on the basis of its name, rather than its actions. “It says it right in the name: Antifa. Anti-fascism,” he <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2018/08/28/don_lemon_defends_antifa_no_organization_is_perfect.html">said</a>. “No organization’s perfect. There was some violence. No one condones violence, but there were different reasons for Antifa and for these neo-Nazis to be there.”
Last month W. Kamau Bell, host of CNN’s “United Shades of America,” interviewed two members of Antifa in Portland and seemingly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-host-praises-antifa-violence-yes-people-get-hurt">excused their violence</a>. “Look, this fighting for democracy and against fascism thing has always been a messy business,” he said. “And, yes, people get hurt, property gets damaged, and things get confusing.”
When those on the Left aren’t glorifying Antifa, they’re busy denying its existence. At the first presidential debate last October, Joe Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-claims-biden-debate-largely-accurate-here-are-14-false-claims-by-biden">asserted</a> that “Antifa is an idea, not an organization.”
In reality, Antifa exists in loosely organized groups, and “their methods are often violent,” <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2017/08/18/us/unmasking-antifa-anti-fascists-hard-left/index.html">according</a> to CNN. “Antifa leaders admit they&#8217;re willing to physically attack anyone who … condones racism,” as Antifa defines it.
Of course, violently attacking people for their thoughts are tactics employed by the actual fascists. The brown shirts physically <a href="https://fcit.usf.edu/holocaust/resource/document/DOCNAC8.htm">broke up political meetings</a> held by the Nazis’ political enemies.
A total of <a href="https://www.history.com/news/d-day-casualties-deaths-allies">2,501 Americans</a> were killed and 10,000 wounded on D-Day itself, not counting our Allies.

On Friday, after former NBC News anchor and current MSNBC host Brian Williams <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/11th-hour/watch/ted-cruz-roundly-criticized-after-sharing-russian-propaganda-112694853992">mocked Senator Ted Cruz</a> (R-TX) as “Kremlin Cruz” because Cruz compared a hard-core recruitment video from the Russian military to a woke recruitment video released by the U.S. military, Cruz fired back with a fusillade of blasts, including that Williams was “throwing a hissy fit,” that Cruz hated Communism since his family had been imprisoned &amp; tortured by them, that Cruz &#8220;was arguing that our military needs to be able to kick the ass of Russian soldiers,&#8221; and concluding, “You are Pravda.”
Williams started his descent into vitriol by stating, “He really won’t like being called ‘Kremlin Cruz” after his latest and remarkably stupid lapse in judgment. Remember as you watch this just how much Ted Cruz dreams of being president of a country someday, perhaps not this country for reasons like this. He posted this quote: ‘Holy crap. Perhaps a woke, emasculated military is not the best idea.’ Then he posted this video we’re about to see, Russian propaganda, a recruitment video for their military followed by a video meant to diminish the U.S. military.”
After showing the two videos, Williams pontificated over a picture of former President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, “The Russians already reached deep into our society.”  He continued, “Imagine how happy it makes them to have yet another advocate among Republican members of the Senate.”
Cruz fired back, “Is there a more pitiful example of corrupt corporate media than Brian Williams? He was fired as the anchor of NBC Nightly News for ‘misrepresenting events which occurred while he was covering the Iraq War in 2003.’ Now, he’s a left-wing hack at MSNBC.”

Crew members on the 159th Aviation Regiment’s Chinook told Stars and Stripes that Williams was nowhere near them or two other Chinooks flying in the formation, Stars and Stripes noted, adding, “Williams arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter after the other three had made an emergency landing, the crew members said.”
In February 2015, Williams was suspended without pay as managing editor and anchor of the NBC Nightly News.

Earlier this year, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went viral after offering an account of her &#8220;near-death&#8221; experience during the January 6th Capitol riot. 
“All of a sudden I hear, boom, boom, boom, boom on my door,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-aoc-was-not-inside-capitol-building-during-breach-on-jan-6">said</a> the 31-year-old during an Instagram livestream. “And then I hear these huge violent bangs on my door, and then on every door going into my office. Just, bang bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. Like, someone was trying to break the door down. And um, there were no voices; there were no yells… no one identifying themselves. And just, boom, boom, boom. And I just get up… and I run over to the legislative office.”
Soon after the livestream, social media users questioned Ocasio-Cortez&#8217;s account of the incident, claiming it was sensationalized and that reporting of the incident gave a false sense of the danger she was in. 
In response, the hashtags <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23AlexandriaOcasioSmollett&amp;src=typed_query">#AlexandriaOcasioSmollett</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23AOClied&amp;src=typed_query">#AOClied</a> trended in the days that followed.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is far from the first political figure to face scrutiny over their account of a potentially violent encounter. Here is a look back at other notable figures who were accused of embellishing their near-death experiences.
Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton once claimed that she came under fire during a trip to Bosnia in 1996.
“I remember landing under sniper fire,” said Clinton during a 2008 speech. “There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”
A CBS News <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BfNqhV5hg4&amp;feature=youtu.be">video</a> revealed that Clinton did not experience any physical threat. Instead, she was greeted by a young girl at the airport, who handed her a copy of a poem.
During the 2016 election, fact-checkers <a href="https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2016/jun/22/donald-trump/trump-clinton-bosnia-sniper-story/">admitted</a> that Clinton’s claims were undeniably false. Then-candidate Donald Trump proclaimed that Clinton “said she was under attack&#8230; but the attack turned out to be young girls handing her flowers.”
Clinton is no stranger to embellished and false claims. Throughout her long political career, the former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State alleged that she was named after explorer Sir Edmund <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/17/nyregion/17hillary.html?_r=1&amp;">Hillary</a>, one of the first men to climb Mt. Everest; received a rejection after applying for the <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2015/11/12/fact-checker-hits-hillary-for-claiming-she-tried-to-join-the-marines-video/">Marines</a> in 1975; and “came out of the White House not only <a href="https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2014/jun/10/hillary-clinton/hillary-clinton-says-she-and-bill-were-dead-broke/">dead broke</a>, but in debt.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) recently blamed Republican colleagues for infecting her with COVID-19. However, <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2021/01/12/video-pramila-jayapal-not-wearing-mask-capitol-riot-blamed-gop-lawmakers-covid-19-coronavirus/">footage</a> revealed that she was maskless on the House floor five days before her positive test result.
“Too many Republicans have refused to take this pandemic and virus seriously, and in doing so, they endanger everyone around them,” said the Congresswoman in a lengthy January 11 <a href="https://jayapal.house.gov/2021/01/11/covid-test/">press release</a>. “Only hours after President Trump incited a deadly assault on our Capitol, our country, and our democracy, many Republicans still refused to take the bare minimum COVID-19 precaution and simply wear a damn mask in a crowded room during a pandemic — creating a superspreader event on top of a domestic terrorist attack.”
She also took a swipe at the 45th President: “I share the outrage and anger of my constituents and those across this country who have watched Donald Trump fail to combat this raging pandemic and refuse to take care of Americans who are suffering, dying, and devastated.”
Rep. Jayapal called for “serious fines to be immediately levied on every single Member who refuses to wear a mask in the Capitol.”
In addition to not wearing a mask herself, the Congresswoman failed to mention that a few days earlier, a fellow Democrat <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/house/532426-gop-attacks-democrats-for-allowing-moore-to-vote-after-positive-covid-test">appeared</a> on the House floor despite testing positive for COVID-19. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) ignored quarantine recommendations to vote for Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as Speaker of the House.

Former NBC Nightly News managing editor Brian Williams stated that his helicopter was struck by an RPG while visiting Iraq. The assertion was proven to be completely false.
In 2015, the longtime anchor <a href="https://money.cnn.com/2015/02/04/media/brian-williams-recants-iraq-story/index.html">claimed</a> that the military aircraft was “forced down after being hit by an RPG” on March 24, 2003. While other helicopters were indeed forced down earlier in the day, Williams was not on board.
“Williams arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter,” reported <a href="https://www.stripes.com/nbc-s-brian-williams-recants-iraq-story-after-soldiers-protest-1.327792">Stars and Stripes</a>. His helicopter “took no fire and landed later beside the damaged helicopter due to an impending sandstorm from the Iraqi desert.”
Williams apologized on his program, stating that he “made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago.” NBC immediately <a href="http://press.nbcnews.com/2015/02/10/a-note-from-deborah-turness/">suspended</a> Williams for six months without pay.

Actor Jussie Smollett — the inspiration for the hashtag #AlexandriaOcasioSmollett — falsely claimed that he was attacked by two Trump supporters in Chicago.
In 2019, the “Empire” actor told police that he was attacked by two men in the middle of the night. He stated that the men used racist and homophobic slurs, placed a noose around his neck, and chanted the phrase “MAGA country.”
Vice President Kamala Harris — then a member of the Senate — rose to Smollett’s defense.
“@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know,” she <a href="https://twitter.com/KamalaHarris/status/1090361495119187969">tweeted</a>. “I’m praying for his quick recovery.”
“This was an attempted modern day lynching,” added the California Democrat. “No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.”
A month after the incident, Chicago police found that Smollett personally paid the supposed attackers. Harris <a href="https://twitter.com/KamalaHarris/status/1098724827869995009">chimed</a> in once more, expressing disappointment over Smollett’s false police report but insisting that “hate crimes are on the rise in America.”

Williams&#8217; reputation has been under repair for years, and the <a href="https://pagesix.com/2019/02/28/brian-williams-may-score-top-time-slot-after-late-night-rating-success/">New York Post</a> reported in February that Williams could possibly replace Chris Matthews, who resigned after facing charges of sexual harassment. Matthews announced his resignation from MSNBC last month after being accused of &#8220;inappropriate behavior&#8221; by GQ columnist Laura Bassett.
Williams was fired after it was learned that he lied about an incident in Iraq, when he said a helicopter he was in was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG).
The NBC anchor, reportedly making $10 million a year, at first tried to claim he had &#8220;conflated&#8221; two incidents. &#8220;I was instead in a following aircraft,&#8221; Williams said on NBC in February 2015. &#8220;This was a bungled attempt by me to thank one special veteran, and by extension, our brave military men and women.&#8221;
&#8220;I would not have chosen to make this mistake,&#8221; Williams said on the air. &#8220;I don’t know what screwed up in my mind that caused me to conflate one aircraft with another.&#8221;
But crew members on the helicopter that was hit exposed Williams’ lie, which the news anchor told repeatedly in public. Crew members told <a href="https://www.stripes.com/news/us/nbc-s-brian-williams-recants-iraq-story-after-soldiers-protest-1.327792">Stars and Stripes</a> that Williams was actually about an hour behind the three-helicopter formation that came under fire. &#8220;It was something personal for us that was kind of life-changing for me. I know how lucky I was to survive it,&#8221; said Lance Reynolds. &#8220;It felt like a personal experience that someone else wanted to participate in and didn’t deserve to participate in.&#8221;
By June 2015, the story fell apart.
&#8220;I said things that weren&#8217;t true,&#8221; Williams said in an interview with then morning-news anchor Matt Lauer (who was also fired by the network amid sexual misconduct allegations).
&#8220;It had to have been ego that made me think I had to be sharper, funnier, quicker than anybody else,&#8221; Williams said. He said he was always careful with his words when he was anchoring the news, but &#8220;after work, when I got out of that building, when I got out of that realm, I used a double standard. Something changed. I was sloppy. I said things that weren’t true.&#8221;
Williams was caught lying about several other things, like claiming he saw a dead body float by in the French Quarter after Hurricane Katrina &#8212; except that the French Quarter never flooded.

‘A True Dummy’: Trump Blasts MSNBC’s ‘Lyin’ Brian Williams’ For His Stolen Valor

On Thursday, MSNBC&#8217;s Brian Williams attempted to poke holes in Attorney General William Barr&#8217;s summary of the newly released redacted report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. After inviting on Donald Trump&#8217;s attorney Jay Sekulow, Williams suggested that Barr misled the public by concluding that Mueller&#8217;s report found &#8220;no collusion&#8221; between the Trump campaign and the Russian government in election interference. Sekulow responded by reading directly from the report clearly stating that it &#8220;did not establish&#8221; collusion.
&#8220;Counselor, thank you very much for joining us,&#8221; Wiliams began in a moment highlighted by the <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/jay-sekulow-throws-mueller-report-at-msnbc-host-asking-if-william-barr-misled-the-public">Washington Examiner</a> (video below). &#8220;My first question, I&#8217;m afraid, is going to verge on plain English: Where did the attorney general get off with that characterization this morning, including four mentions that there was &#8216;no collusion&#8217;? What document was he reading compared to the one we&#8217;re left with?&#8221;
Sekulow responded by simply reading directly from the second page of Mueller&#8217;s now publicly available <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/read-robert-muellers-redacted-russia-report">report</a>. &#8220;Well, page 2 of the document says, &#8216;the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities,'&#8221; Sekulow read.
&#8220;So it&#8217;s right from the document itself,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;Have you read Part 1?&#8221; asked Williams.
&#8220;I have read Part 1 and Part 2,&#8221; Sekulow replied.
&#8220;You find good news in here for the president and the administration?&#8221; asked Williams, suggestively.
Sekulow answered by reading another direct quote from the report: &#8220;Page 181: &#8216;The investigation did not establish that the contacts described in Volume 1 [Section IV, supra],&#8217; that&#8217;s the Russian contacts, &#8216;amounted to an agreement to commit any [substantive] violation of federal criminal law, including foreign-influence and campaign-finance laws.'&#8221;
Sekulow then answered Williams&#8217; loaded question directly: &#8220;Yeah, I think it&#8217;s a very good win.&#8221;

Sekulow also appeared on ABC News with George Stephanopoulos to provide his &#8220;bottom line&#8221; on the Mueller report. Asked by Stephanopoulos, a former Bill Clinton aide, if he and his team had read all 400+ pages of the report, Sekulow explained that they had early access to it so they could fully review the document.
The big picture, said Sekulow, is that the very reason the investigation was launched, the allegation of &#8220;collusion&#8221; with Russia, is repeatedly and &#8220;emphatic[ally]&#8221; dismissed in the report. &#8220;So you don&#8217;t have an overarching crime that was the beginning of this investigation, which was this collusion inquiry &#8212; there&#8217;s nothing there, they said, no evidence of collusion at all. And then they move to were there acts that were obstructive.&#8221;
Sekulow then cites Barr&#8217;s summary of the obstruction findings, at which point Stephanopoulos stops him and says that Barr&#8217;s conclusions are different from Mueller&#8217;s. Stephanopoulos then read directly from Mueller&#8217;s report: &#8220;If we could determine the president did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state.&#8221;
Sekulow responded by asking Stephanopoulos to read Mueller&#8217;s next sentence: &#8220;Accordingly, while this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it does not exonerate him.&#8221;
&#8220;Right,&#8221; said Sekulow. &#8220;A prosecutor&#8217;s job is not exoneration. They either determine that there is a criminal act, or there&#8217;s not.&#8221;

The awkward, bizarre visual of low-energy House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) sharing one podium to deliver a response to President Donald Trump on Tuesday night was even too much for MSNBC host Brian Williams and Democrat operative James Carville to spin.
Both Williams and Carville openly mocked the Democrats during a late-night segment Tuesday. Williams flat out called the response &#8220;so bad&#8221; and Carville noted that he&#8217;s looked more enthused to get &#8220;colonoscopies&#8221; than Schumer looked at that podium.
Ouch.
&#8220;Tell me why responses are so bad,&#8221; Williams said to Carville. &#8220;Tonight, this Chuck and Nancy visual tonight launched 1,000 memes while they were still talking. There was an American gothic meme. There was &#8216;your mother and I are very upset you stayed out so late&#8217; meme.&#8221;
Mentioning past poorly done response videos from the likes of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and former Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Williams emphasized: &#8220;But this visual from tonight goes down in the pantheon.&#8221;
Carville said it was clear Schumer and Pelosi didn&#8217;t want to be there, though he noted that response videos like this &#8220;seldom, if ever, work.&#8221;
&#8220;He didn&#8217;t want to be there,&#8221; Carville said of Schumer specifically. &#8220;I&#8217;ve been more excited about colonoscopies than he was giving the speech tonight. He didn&#8217;t want to be there.&#8221;
Tossing back to Williams, the host further poked fun at the one-podium presentation.
&#8220;Hey, Michael,&#8221; Williams said to MSNBC analyst Michael Steele, a former RNC chairman, &#8220;the first thing people said on social media tonight was, it looked like the Democrats only had the one podium. These two people, both of great station and accomplishment, are sharing this little tiny, modest, wooden podium.&#8221;
&#8220;Dems, don&#8217;t do that again,&#8221; answered Steele. &#8220;You know, you don&#8217;t &#8212; I don&#8217;t know what they were trying to accomplish here. Certainly, the message was lost in the visual.&#8221;
During the awkward and visually comical rebuttal speech, Pelosi <a href="https://www.ajc.com/news/national/read-full-transcript-nancy-pelosi-and-chuck-schumer-response-trump-speech/fRWX5NbdlI7vDLLK5CKOBM/">claimed</a> Democrats want to &#8220;secure&#8221; the border, but refuse to fund Trump&#8217;s wall because a wall is apparently not in-line with American values. The Democrat has previously called the wall an &#8220;immorality.&#8221;
&#8220;We all agree that we need to secure our borders while honoring our values,&#8221; said the House Speaker. &#8220;We can build the infrastructure and roads at our ports of entry; we can install new technology to scan cars and trucks for drugs coming into our nation; we can hire the personnel we need to facilitate trade and immigration at the border; and we can fund more innovation to detect unauthorized crossings.&#8221;
Pelosi predictably blamed Trump for the current government shutdown, saying he&#8217;s &#8220;holding the American people hostage.&#8221;
After a cringe-inducing pass over to Schumer, the senator accused Trump of trying to &#8220;govern by temper tantrum.&#8221;
&#8220;No president should pound the table and demand he gets his way or else the government shuts down, hurting millions of Americans who are treated as leverage,&#8221; Schumer said.
Alternatively, President Trump blamed the Democrats for the government shutdown, which he said could be hammered out in a 45-minute meeting. The president emphasized the threat from porous borders to the American people and encouraged citizens to call Congress and demand funding for the Southern border wall.

A former FBI agent gave a doozy of an interview on MSNBC in which he made some truly bizarre claims regarding suppressors.
MSNBC&#8217;s Brian Williams asked Manny Gomez, a former FBI agent and New York Police Department sergeant, if he could make an argument in favor of easing restrictions on gun silencers, which is advancing in the House of Representatives.
Because MSNBC is a fact-free zone, Gomez said that silencers cause a gun to emit &#8220;little to no sound&#8221; when fired and thus make it harder for police to track down an active shooter.
This factually incorrect statement would be bad enough, but Gomez dug deeper into lunacy by explaining why he thinks hunters like silencers.
&#8220;Sportsmen, hunters, would make an argument that they need that so that their target &#8212; whether it&#8217;s a deer, etc. &#8212; don&#8217;t hear the shot,&#8221; said Gomez.
Gomez proceeded to tear down his strawman by arguing that people were once able to hunt using muskets and then somehow suggested that easing restrictions on silencers would lead to legalizing grenades.
&#8220;Are we going to legalize grenades next because sportsmen need averages to be on their side more?&#8221; Gomez said.

Literally every word of what Gomez said was incorrect. For starters, as <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/21842/former-nypd-commissioner-claims-if-las-vegas-frank-camp">Frank Camp noted</a>, &#8220;Allegedly &#8216;silenced&#8217; rifles are still louder than a jackhammer, an ambulance, or a thunderclap,&#8221; so it doesn&#8217;t make &#8220;little to no sound&#8221; as Gomez claims. It just <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/12267/gun-silencers-could-become-easier-purchase-under-aaron-bandler">reduces the noise level of a gun shot</a> to a level that doesn&#8217;t cause nearly as much damage to the shooter&#8217;s eardrums.
Therefore, the point of a silencer isn&#8217;t to make it easier to kill people or to ensure that deer won&#8217;t hear a hunter firing a gun, the point is to protect the shooter&#8217;s hearing.
The Left has shamelessly exploited the horrific shooting in Las Vegas to rail against the House Republicans&#8217; bill easing restrictions on silencers, even though there is nothing to indicate that the Las Vegas shooter used a silencer. We shouldn&#8217;t fall for this red herring and should instead point out that the Left is politicizing an act of evil to promote an agenda that emphasizes feelings over facts.
