<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo">Lizzo</a> filmed herself watching an episode of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/south-park">South Park</a>” which referenced her as being the antithesis of weight loss drugs.
The 36-year-old singer, who has made herself a poster child for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/body-positivity">body positivity</a> movement, shared a “blind duet” reaction to her inclusion on the show. “Guys, my worst fear has been actualized. I’ve been referenced in a South Park episode,” she began in a TikTok video posted on Sunday.
The episode focused on the popularity of semaglutide drugs like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ozempic">Ozempic</a> and Monjaro for weight loss. “South Park: The End of Obesity” debuted on May 24.

&#8220;I’m so scared,” she said as the clip started playing.
In the episode, Sharon and Sheila, moms of characters Stan and Kyle, are discussing using weight loss drugs. Sharon says her doctor would not prescribe her medication like Ozempic because she doesn’t have diabetes. Sheila responded by asking how she’s managing her weight if she’s not using those drugs.
“Don’t you know, Sheila?&#8221; Sharon says. &#8220;Now, there’s a whole new obesity drug for those of us who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounjaro.&#8221;
“I controlled all my cravings to be thinner with Lizzo,&#8221; she says, at which point Lizzo makes a surprised face while reacting to the clip.
A commercial for the fictional drug Lizzo starts playing, including a parody of the song from the Ozempic commercial. Sharon makes it clear that the drug doesn’t do anything besides make the user not care about being overweight. 
The faux commercial says Lizzo “makes you feel good about your weight — and it costs 90% less than Ozempic.”
“I’ve lowered my standards and my expectations,” Sharon says, while the real Lizzo continues reacting with shock at the bit.

“70% of patients on Lizzo no longer care how much they weigh,” the fake drug commercial narrator continues. The ad also warns about listening to Lizzo’s music, causing her to say, “Not the f***ing album!” as the commercial cuts to an image of someone bleeding from the ears after listening to her songs. 
The commercial concludes with Sharon saying, “Ask about the power of not giving a f*** with Lizzo.”
&#8220;I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f*** to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f*** I am, and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years,” Lizzo said in conclusion as part of her reaction.
“And I’m gonna keep on showing you how to not give a f***,” she added.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s daughter, Gracie McGraw, defended her use of the drug <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/body-positivity">Ozempic</a> for weight loss, saying she used it to combat the effects of having PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome).
The 25-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/country-music">musician</a> posted photos of herself on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cst-mr8uUaY/">Instagram</a> in a bikini along with the caption, “It’s a gorgeous day for narcissism!”
In the comments, one of McGraw’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">followers</a> accused her of losing weight by using Ozempic, the popular semaglutide medication prescribed for type 2 diabetes. It became popular in Hollywood and beyond for its extreme weight loss side effects.
“And Ozempic!” that person wrote, prompting McGraw to reply, “I did use Ozempic last year, yes. I am now on a low dose of Mounjaro for my PCOS as well as working out. No need to accuse when I have been open about it.”
Another fan came to the musician’s defense. “PCOS sucks. Insulin resistance, weight gain, ovarian cysts and polyps, hair growth on the face and other odd areas. Plus a ton of other issues. I’m super glad she was able to get access to a great medication to help out!”  
The eldest daughter of two of country music’s biggest stars previously discussed why she decided to take Ozempic for weight loss. 
“I just wanted to share really quick that I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). To get the correct diagnosis you would need 2 out of the 5 characteristics of PCOS and I had 4,” she told fans on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cal4D5NOYDs/">Instagram</a> in March 2022. 
“During my appointment with my endocrinologist, I realized that may had been a factor in my issues with weight, so we decided to try a medicine to regulate my body more normally and create the tools to continue to keep my body and myself healthy as I get older.”
She said taking “correct steps toward my mental health” helped her through tough times.

McGraw concluded by saying how the “medicine I’m taking has given me a body I haven’t had in years” and that she was “finding new ways to love” herself “every day.”
Ozempic has been in the news a lot recently as people with type 2 diabetes are having a hard time securing the medication amid shortages due to its popularity for weight loss.

The 35-year-old musician shared a screenshot of a critical message she received and included a caption that said, “I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of sh** I see about me on a daily basis.”
“It’s really starting to make me hate the world,” Lizzo continued, according to <a href="https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/lizzo-slams-body-shamers-make-me-hate-the-world-1235343163/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Billboard</a>. “Then someone in the comments said I eat ‘lots of fast food.’ I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bullsh**.”
Lizzo also set her tweets to protected so they can only be viewed by followers.
“The Love definitely do not outweigh the Hate on social media… all because I’m fat????” she wrote in a follow-up, followed by a message that said, “Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F***ING FARM…”
“I literally NEVER search my name this stuff just comes up on my TL &amp; my FYP it’s wild,” Lizzo tweeted. “I swear I just wanna look at dance videos and science news and this sh** comes in every day…”
Her tirade against naysayers went on.
“I’m not trying to BE fat I’m not trying to BE smaller I’m literally just trying to live and be healthy,” she wrote. “This is what my body looks like even when I’m eating super clean and working out!”

A national helpline ditched an artificial intelligence chatbot named Tessa after the advice it gave made things worse for those suffering from eating disorders.
The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) announced on Tuesday that it had shut down the chatbot over &#8220;harmful&#8221; comments it provided to those calling for help, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/31/eating-disorder-helpline-fires-ai-for-harmful-advice-after-sacking-humans/">New York Post</a> reported. Its job was to use therapeutic methods and limited responses to help those who reached out.
&#8220;It came to our attention last night that the current version of the Tessa Chatbot, running the Body Positive program, may have given information that was harmful and unrelated to the program,&#8221; NEDA stated.

The move comes after several people posted screenshots and shared the information Tessa provided which encouraged them to work towards a &#8220;500-1,000 calorie deficit daily,&#8221; weigh themselves weekly, and restrict their diet, the outlet noted.
&#8220;Every single thing Tessa suggested were things that led to the development of my eating disorder,&#8221; activist Sharon Maxwell wrote in a social media post. &#8220;This robot causes harm.&#8221;
Alexis Conason, a psychologist specializing in eating disorders, posted screenshots of the conversation with Tessa. In them, Conason was told that &#8220;a safe daily calorie deficit&#8221; is &#8220;500-1000 calories per day.&#8221;
&#8220;To advise somebody who is struggling with an eating disorder to essentially engage in the same eating disorder behaviors, and validating that, &#8216;Yes, it is important that you lose weight&#8217; is supporting eating disorders,&#8221; Conason told the Daily Dot.

Liz Thompson, CEO of NEDA, said that &#8220;with regard to the weight loss and calorie limiting feedback issued in a chat Monday, we are concerned and are working with the technology team and the research team to investigate this further; that language is against our policies and core beliefs as an eating disorder organization.
&#8220;So far, more than 2,500 people have interacted with Tessa and until Monday we hadn&#8217;t seen that kind of commentary or interaction,&#8221; she added. &#8220;We&#8217;ve taken the program down temporarily until we can understand and fix the &#8216;bug&#8217; and &#8216;triggers&#8217; for that commentary.&#8221;
Employees at the hotline were told they were being let go days before Tessa was shut down. The service has been operated by humans for the last 20 years. The move comes after employees decided to unionize in March, <a href="https://www.vice.com/en/article/qjvk97/eating-disorder-helpline-disables-chatbot-for-harmful-responses-after-firing-human-staff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vice</a> reported.

New York City Democratic Mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/eric-adams-blasts-biden-says-border-crisis-has-destroyed-nyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Eric Adams</a> claimed Friday that “body type” has no connection to a person’s health after signing a bill banning height and weight discrimination. 
The bill <a href="https://www.nyc.gov/office-of-the-mayor/news/364-23/mayor-adams-signs-legislation-prohibit-height-weight-discrimination-employment-housing-#/0">signed</a> by Adams prohibits discrimination on the basis of height and weight for employment, housing, and public accommodations in the city. The bill contains an exception for employers who need to consider height and weight to abide by federal, state, or local laws and regulations. After signing the legislation, Adams discussed why he believes it’s necessary and made a scientifically erroneous statement. 
“Everyone knows that I’m a person that believes in health, so when you talk about not discriminating against someone because of their body type, it’s not fighting against obesity; it’s just being fair,” the mayor said, adding, “And science has shown that body type is not a connection to if you are healthy or unhealthy. I think that’s a misnomer.”

Adams did not provide a study or bring receipts to back up his claim that body type doesn’t affect health, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/effects/index.html">states</a> that obese people are at an increased risk of serious diseases and health conditions such as high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, and stroke. Those who are underweight also face serious health risks such as vitamin deficiencies, anemia, and decreased immune function, <a href="https://www.healthline.com/health/underweight-health-risks">according</a> to Healthline. 
New York City’s new law is set to take effect on November 22. Six other <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/new-york-city-law-ban-height-weight-discrimination-mayor-eric-adams/">cities</a>, including Washington, D.C., and San Francisco as well as the states of Michigan and Washington also have laws against height and weight discrimination. Lizzo was responding to Victoria’s Secret announcing its decision to bring back a “new version” of their popular runway fashion shows, which began in 1995 but was put on hiatus in 2019. 
“We’re going to continue to lean into the marketing spend to invest in the business, both at top-of-funnel and also to support the new version of our fashion show, which is to come later this year,” Chief Financial Officer Timothy Johnson <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/victorias-secret-announces-new-version-of-fashion-show-after-4-year-hiatus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> during the company’s 2022 earnings call on Friday.
While details on the newest iteration of the runway show are not public yet, it’s clear that the brand has been embracing a variety of different models in recent years after facing criticism for not doing so in the past.
“Fashion is a business of change. We must evolve and change to grow,” CEO Leslie Wexner said in 2019 while announcing the end of the fashion show. “With that in mind, we have decided to rethink the traditional Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.”

Since then, Victoria’s Secret has featured various models in its campaigns, including LGBTQ activist and professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe and a Brazilian transgender model named Valentina Sampaio. Most of their new campaigns include multiple plus-sized models as well.
Lizzo, meanwhile, has been at the forefront of the body positivity and body acceptance movement. As a plus-sized performer, the Detroit-born singer said she considers a person’s weight a personal matter. 
“I’m working out to have my ideal body type and you know what type it is? None of your f***ing business because I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job, and I stay on my job,” the singer <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/lizzo-blasts-body-shamers-health" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted in 2020</a>.
“So next time you want to come to somebody and judge them whether they drink kale smoothies or eat McDonald’s, or work out or not work out, how about you look at your own f***ing self and worry about your own g** damn body because health is not just determined on what you look like on the outside,” she continued.
“Health is also what happens on the inside and a lot of ya’ll need to do a f***ing cleanse for your insides,&#8221; Lizzo said at the time.

After years of fans demanding a plus-sized heroine, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Disney</a> responded with a short film about a young overweight ballet dancer with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/body-positivity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">body dysmorphia</a>.
The Short Circuit episode, which is directed by Hillary Bradfield, is called “Reflect.” It’s currently available on Disney+. In it, Bianca deals with being a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fat-acceptance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plus-sized</a> dancer.
Bianca’s teacher first checks her position at the barre, reminding her &#8220;Tight tummy! Long neck!&#8221; As the young dancer observes herself standing next to all the other thin ballet dancers, the mirror shatters as the plus-sized child grapples with body image. She emerges from this place of fractured glass by dancing and becoming more confident, eventually returning to the dance class with the other students.

“&#8217;Reflect&#8217; is about body positivity,” Bradfield said of the project. “The idea for this short began thinking about my own body philosophy. I feel like I’m a very body positive person in principle, but when it’s on a personal level, it’s a lot harder to be body positive.”
She described choosing ballet as the setting, saying, “Telling this story from a dancer’s perspective seemed just natural and it&#8217;s part of the craft to be looking at your posture and checking things in the mirror. So it just seemed like a really good way to put her in that environment where she has to look at herself and she doesn’t want to.”
“When people watch this short, I hope that they can feel more positively about themselves and how they look, and feel OK about the tough parts of the journey,” Bradfield concluded. “You know, maybe sometimes you go to the dark place to get to the good place, and that just makes the good place that much more beautiful.”
Fans have mostly good things to say about “Reflect” and how the main character is plus sized.

“I saw this Disney short called Reflect and it emotionally tore me up,” another <a href="https://twitter.com/katelandiaa/status/1579345522057707520" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>. “It’s about a little plus size girl doing ballet and the mirrors start to swallow her up because of her body insecurity but she destroys them by dancing anyway.”

The 32-year-old Grammy Award winner just dropped the album “Midnights” last week, and it’s already getting a lot of praise. But during the song “Anti-hero,” there’s an image of Swift standing on a scale that reflects the word “fat” as she sings, &#8220;I stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror.&#8221; The camera then moves to an image of Swift looking at a different version of herself shaking her head.
A now-viral <a href="https://twitter.com/theshirarose/status/1583500955818942470" target="_blank" rel="noopener">response</a> to this imagery calls out Swift for including the clip, which that fan says is derogatory toward overweight people and could trigger individuals with eating disorders.
“Taylor Swift’s music video, where she looks down at the scale where it says &#8216;fat,&#8217; is a s***ty way to describe her body image struggles. Fat people don’t need to have it reiterated yet again that it’s everyone’s worst nightmare to look like us,” the user wrote. The post has 42,000 likes as of Tuesday.

“Having an eating disorder doesn’t excuse fatphobia,” the Twitter user continued in a follow-up. “It’s not hard to say, &#8216;I’m struggling with my body image today&#8217; instead of I’m a fat, disgusting pig.”
TikTok users also described the song as problematic. “Hey Taylor Swift, what the f*** dude” one person <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@reynacohan/video/7157033871983398186?is_from_webapp=v1&amp;item_id=7157033871983398186">replied</a>. “Being fat is not a bad thing. And in 5 seconds of your music video, you have successfully reinforced the idea that it is.” 
While many agreed with the negative assessment, others were quick to jump to Swift’s defense, saying she should be allowed to discuss her negative feelings and personal experiences as she saw fit. 
“Taking someone’s eating disorder struggles and making them about YOU and how YOU FEEL is so deeply ableist it’s unreal,” one person <a href="https://twitter.com/themorganyoukno/status/1583591509261438977">replied</a>. “It’s like telling someone in the middle of a psychotic break that they need to stop having delusions because they make you anxious.”
“She literally mentioned her DEPRESSION and EATING DISORDER and people are telling her she should be doing better. Unbelievable,” another user <a href="https://twitter.com/aathena10/status/1583659996629241856">agreed</a>.
Swift mentioned the song specifically on release day, <a href="https://twitter.com/taylorswift13/status/1583429735480451072?s=20&amp;t=NyxOBAXRFacNE-3fBP-9Hg">tweeting</a>, “The Anti-Hero video is HERE, which I wrote and directed. Spain&#8217;s equality ministry has launched a new ad campaign in the name of diversity with the message that &#8220;all bodies are beach bodies.” The campaign includes photos of a topless woman after a mastectomy and more.
Minister of Social Rights Ione Belarra said that the idea behind the campaign is for women to stop worrying about how their bodies look, enjoy the summer, and hit the beach no matter what their size, the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-62325030">BBC</a> reported in a piece published Wednesday.
&#8220;Summer is ours too,&#8221; the slogan on the campaign poster reads.
&#8220;All bodies are beach bodies,&#8221; Social Services Minister Ione Belarra <a href="https://twitter.com/ionebelarra/status/1552237445407576064">tweeted</a> in promotion of the campaign.

In the campaign, people can see illustrations of five women at the beach. One goes topless after having a mastectomy, several plus-size models wear bikinis, and another woman lies on a towel in a swimsuit.
The Spanish Women&#8217;s Institute, the organization behind the initiative, said the idea behind the campaign is to show the validity of all bodies, the BBC noted.
&#8220;Today we toast a summer for all, without stereotypes and aesthetic violence against our bodies,&#8221; the ad explained.
However, not everyone was impressed with the move, with many calling it absurd to assume that women need government permission to go to the beach. Junior equality minister Ángela Rodríguez Pam took to <a href="https://twitter.com/Pam_Angela_/status/1552270386125066240?s=20&amp;t=He0p99aXavcYnmvSqw2hVQ">Twitter</a> and wrote that &#8220;of course we go, but we&#8217;re assuming we&#8217;ll attract hatred for showing a body that isn&#8217;t standard,&#8221; the outlet noted.

Others asked if the ad needed to include men who didn&#8217;t have a perfect physique. Then Spain&#8217;s left-wing leader, Cayo Lara, labeled the campaign the height of absurdity, saying it was trying to &#8220;create a problem where it doesn&#8217;t exist.&#8221;

“Black Widow” actress <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Florence Pugh</a> has a message for anyone who recently took issue with her wearing a <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nudity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealing dress</a> with no bra: “grow up.” 
The 26-year-old British star caused a stir by wearing a sheer, hot pink Valentino gown at the fashion house’s haute couture show Friday in <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/italy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rome</a>. She notably chose not to wear undergarments, which made her breasts visible.
Pugh wrote a lengthy social media post defending her decision to wear the dress. It included the hashtag, “#f***ingfreethef***ingnipple.”
“Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it,’” she shared on <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf1ly-aILtc/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a>. “‘Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing. I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. I wasn’t before, during or even now after.”
Pugh equated going topless with having <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/body-positivity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">body confidence</a>. 
“What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see,’” she continued. “It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be. Thankfully, I’ve come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I’m happy with all of the ‘flaws’ that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14.”
The actress said, “I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it. What’s more concerning is…. Why are you so scared of breasts? Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none? What. Is. So. Terrifying.”
The “Don’t Worry Darling” star said she grew up in a family of “very strong, powerful, curvy women” who discovered “power in the creases of our body.”
She went on to insist that going topless was her right as a woman.
“It has always been my mission in this industry to say ‘f*** it and f*** that’ whenever anyone expects my body to morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive,” she continued. “I wore that dress because I know.”
Pugh concluded: “If being loudly abusive towards women publicly in 2022 is so easy for you, then the answer is that it is you who doesn’t know. Grow up. Respect people. Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans. Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise. And all because of two cute little nipples&#8230;.”
