Media personalities Chris Cuomo, Bill O&#8217;Reilly, and Stephen A. Smith slammed the media for ignoring a story <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/doug-emhoff-accused-of-hitting-ex-girlfriend-in-the-face-at-high-profile-event-report">published</a> by the Daily Mail this week that detailed accusations that Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217; husband, Doug Emhoff, struck his girlfriend in the face because he thought she was flirting with another man.
Three friends of the woman, a New York lawyer, told the Daily Mail about the alleged attack in 2012 on the condition that neither they nor the woman, who was only identified as “Jane,” be named out of fear of retaliation.
The report said Emhoff and Jane were in line waiting for a taxi as they were leaving the Cannes Film Festival in France when Jane tipped a valet, hoping to get moved to the front of the line. During the interaction, she allegedly placed her hand on his shoulder, and Emhoff thought that she was hitting on the valet.
He allegedly smacked her across the face so hard that she spun around.
&#8220;If the name were Trump instead of Emhoff in this story, it would be all over the news right now,&#8221; Cuomo said on his NewsNation show.
The reporter who published the explosive story, Josh Boswell, said that the publication would not have published it unless it was &#8220;very credible,&#8221; noting that there were credible contemporaneous accounts of the incident and documents about how the two were traveling to the event together. He added that there was even video footage of them together at the event.
&#8220;If it were Trump or anyone related to him, it would be on every TV show that is on right now,&#8221; Cuomo added. &#8220;And that&#8217;s why I think of the interest of fairness you should look at it.&#8221;

Smith agreed: &#8220;In fairness to Donald Trump, which is not something you hear me or most people say all the time, it is absolutely true if this were him, it would be all over the place. It would be printed. It would be publicized everywhere.&#8221;
&#8220;We also have to take into account 2018 when then-Senator Kamala Harris, obviously, when the whole Brett Kavanaugh situation, when Brett Kavanaugh was obviously running for the Supreme Court &#8230; I remember her wearing all black and saying she was wearing all black, and &#8216;I wore black today in support of all survivors of sexual assault or abuse,'&#8221; Smith continued. &#8220;And it was a hashtag, #BelieveSurvivors, etc, etc. And so when you do something like that, it&#8217;s going to be politicized.&#8221;
O&#8217;Reilly said that left-wing activists and movements like Me Too and Time&#8217;s Up will say nothing about the alleged attack.
&#8220;But if it were a Republican or conservative, they would be denying the person accused of due process, because that&#8217;s what they do, unless it&#8217;s someone on [their] side,&#8221; he said.
Smith agreed, saying that the &#8220;bias&#8221;, &#8220;favoritism&#8221;, and &#8220;lack of neutrality&#8221; in the media was a serious issue.

When Tucker Carlson was unceremoniously dumped by Fox News on Monday, the general feeling floating around was, &#8220;Oh, woe is he.&#8221;
But former Fox News star Bill O&#8217;Reilly, who was also fired by the network but for a real reason, said Fox did Carlson &#8220;a favor.&#8221;
“He’ll make a lot of clams,” O’Reilly <a href="https://omny.fm/shows/oconnor-and-company/04-26-23-bill-oreilly-interview">said</a> Wednesday on WMAL, a Washington, D.C., radio station.
And he offered some speculation on what prompted Carlson&#8217;s firing.
“Litigation was the reason,” he said. “There are a number of lawsuits pending and then more coming, where Mr. Carlson is going to be involved, particularly the one where he had a spy in his organization and she taped him and his staff and filed a suit in Manhattan. And the lawyer representing her, I understand, is, you know, saying, &#8216;Well, if you don&#8217;t pay us a lot of money, we&#8217;re gonna&#8217; release the tapes,&#8217;” he said.
Former senior booking producer Abby Grossberg has reportedly filed two separate suits, accusing Carlson and Fox of sexism and harassment and alleging that his show&#8217;s workplace was rife with misogyny.
The suits come after Fox settled a defamation lawsuit by an election technology company for more than $787 million. Dominion Voting Systems sued over segments promoting bogus claims that election fraud cheated then-President Donald Trump of victory in 2020.
O’Reilly said workplace lawsuits are now commonplace.
“It’s an industry now,” he said. “What happens is you&#8217;re an employee, you don&#8217;t like where you&#8217;re working, you set up a taping apparatus to try to get anything, and then you hire a lawyer, and they come in and claim whatever they want to claim. So this is happening every hour on the hour all across the United States.&#8221;
&#8220;There are lawyers lined up to do this. Most of these cases are settled and nobody even knows about them. But this one is very high profile,” he said. And the accuser often comes out on top. O&#8217;Reilly predicts Grossberg could receive “between $10 and $15 million.”
O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s career as the top-rated host in cable news came to a humiliating end in 2017 as Fox News fired him following the disclosure of a series of sexual harassment allegations against him. An internal probe turned up more problems.
But since then, he has built a successful independent career, running a daily podcast on Apple &#8212; Bill O’Reilly’s No Spin News and Analysis &#8212; and penning books. He <a href="https://observer.com/2017/11/bill-oreilly-net-worth-salary-fox-news/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> makes $30 million a year.

O&#8217;Reilly said Carlson, who <a href="https://www.ibtimes.com/tucker-carlson-fox-news-salary-revealed-amid-exit-net-worth-30-million-3688833">reportedly</a> earned up to $20 million a year at Fox, is poised to create his own independent operation.
“Carlson is a talented broadcaster. He&#8217;s got a big following. He&#8217;ll go into the independent news or analysis industry, of which I started six years ago. Ironically, it was to the week six years ago that I left Fox News. And he&#8217;ll make a bloody fortune. Because he&#8217;s interesting to listen to,” O&#8217;Reilly said.
“They did him a favor. I mean, my life is so much better now than it was six years ago when I had to deal with all this stuff. They did him a favor. He&#8217;s gonna make a lot of money,” O’Reilly said.
“Look, billoreilly.com is the most successful independent news agency in the world. Now, you&#8217;ll never see that written in the Washington Post or anything like that because they despise me. But we built this from nothing into this colossus, this worldwide news organization. And I&#8217;ve never, you know, I would have people ask, &#8216;Would you go back?&#8217; No, no. I don&#8217;t want to work for anybody anymore. I don&#8217;t want to put up with all the corporate BS, which is like up to your eyebrows.”

Longtime talk show host Bill O&#8217;Reilly, who resigned from Fox News after the network settled five lawsuits involving women who accused him of misconduct, was caught on video berating an airline employee after his flight to the Caribbean was delayed, The Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10731909/Youre-gonna-lose-job-Bill-OReilly-threatened-airline-worker-delayed-flight.html">reported</a> with exclusive video.
&#8220;The conservative commentator can be heard in the video asking a JetBlue employee to find out why his flight from New York to Turks and Caicos is &#8216;three hours late now,'&#8221; The Washington Examiner <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/watch-bill-oreilly-confronts-jetblue-employee-after-five-hour-flight-delay">reported</a>. &#8220;Seconds later, after a barely audible back-and-forth, O&#8217;Reilly calls the employee a &#8216;f***ing scumbag&#8217; and tells him, &#8216;You&#8217;re going to lose your job.&#8217; The JetBlue agent is heard in the <a class="Link" href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10731909/Youre-gonna-lose-job-Bill-OReilly-threatened-airline-worker-delayed-flight.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video</a> accusing O&#8217;Reilly of threatening him with violence.&#8221;

The video was filmed at 9:24 am on Sunday, April 3, the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10731909/Youre-gonna-lose-job-Bill-OReilly-threatened-airline-worker-delayed-flight.html">reported</a>. That was two and a half hours after the flight to the Turks and Caicos Islands was scheduled to take off.
O&#8217;Reilly defended himself in an email to the Mail, saying &#8220;it was the airport worker who was arrogant, not him.&#8221;
&#8220;The guy was arrogant and falsely accused me of threatening him and I said: &#8216;You&#8217;re lucky I didn&#8217;t do that,'&#8221; he said in the email.
O&#8217;Reilly also took to Twitter to defend himself. &#8220;The character assassins on social media completely lying about my interaction with a JetBlue guy who misled passengers during a five-hour delay,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly <a href="https://twitter.com/BillOReilly/status/1516767993354723331">tweeted</a> after the video surfaced on Tuesday.
&#8220;The 72-year-old former host of The O&#8217;Reilly Factor <a class="Link" href="https://www.mediaite.com/tv/bill-oreilly-speaks-out-against-jetblue-after-being-caught-on-camera-calling-employee-a-scumbag/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> a news outlet on Tuesday that he handled the situation &#8216;poorly&#8217; but did not apologize to the worker, reiterating that the JetBlue flight was delayed for hours without explanation, leading to frustration. He also accused JetBlue of fraudulent behavior, claiming the airline is selling tickets to flights that the company knows cannot arrive on schedule,&#8221; the Examiner reported.
O&#8217;Reilly also gave a <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/tv/bill-oreilly-speaks-out-against-jetblue-after-being-caught-on-camera-calling-employee-a-scumbag/">statement</a> to Mediaite. &#8220;The real story beyond the exchange caught by Daily Mail, O’Reilly said, is staffing shortages airlines like JetBlue are not being honest about, leading to numerous cancellations and delays for their flights,&#8221; the website wrote.
&#8220;&#8216;The story is JetBlue can’t get their flights off the ground. It was crazy in the terminal,&#8217; O’Reilly added, joking frustration among passengers was so fierce he may have prevented a riot by saying something,&#8221; Mediaite reported.
&#8220;JetBlue, O’Reilly argued to Mediaite, is committing &#8216;fraud in the inducement,&#8217; meaning they are selling tickets to flights they know they cannot complete, but are not being honest about it.&#8221;

On Sunday, former President Donald J. Trump told media personality Bill O&#8217;Reilly that he has received the COVID-19 booster shot while defending his administration for helping develop the coronavirus vaccine. His comments were made in front of a crowd as part of a national speaking tour which the duo concluded this past weekend.
Newsweek <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-reveals-got-covid-booster-shot-1661078">reported</a> that in the last stop of the &#8220;The History Tour,&#8221; Trump took pride in Operation Warp Speed — the name given to the private-public partnership which led to the creation of several COVID-19 vaccines in record-time after the former president defied experts and ordered the development of the program. Previously, National Institutes of Health director Francis Collins <a href="https://thehill.com/changing-america/well-being/prevention-cures/540408-faucis-boss-praises-trump-for-breathtaking">credited</a> Trump&#8217;s Secretary of Health Alex Aazar and the Trump administration for their efforts:
<blockquote>“The Operation Warp Speed, for which I give a great deal of credit to secretary [Alex] Azar, was an effort that many of us were not initially convinced was going to be necessary and it was thought about as a Manhattan Project,” Collins told Axios referring to the U.S. program that developed the first nuclear weapons during World War II.
“Those words were used sometimes to describe what needed to happen in order to get all parts of the government together in an unprecedented way to test up to six vaccines in rigorous trials, and to do this at-risk manufacturing so that if any of those trials happen to work, you would already have doses ready to go into arms,” he said, adding “that would not be the way things are traditionally done.”</blockquote>
As part of the tour, Trump told his supporters that they had a hand in the creation of the vaccine and they should take pride in it:
<blockquote>&#8220;Look, we did something that was historic, we saved tens of millions of lives worldwide when we, together, all of us, we got a vaccine done,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;This was going to ravage the country far beyond what it is right now, take credit for it&#8230; it&#8217;s great, what we&#8217;ve done is historic. Don&#8217;t let them take it away.&#8221;</blockquote>
Trump also re-affirmed that he was against vaccine mandates:
<blockquote>&#8220;If you don&#8217;t want to take it, you shouldn&#8217;t be forced to take it, no mandates but take credit&#8230; don&#8217;t let them take that away from you,&#8221; he said.</blockquote>
Currently, President Joe Biden is punishing throughs several vaccine mandates for federal and private-sector workers across America, including one being challenged by The Daily Wire in court.
O&#8217;Reilly then asked if he had received the booster shot, to which the former president confirmed that he had.
In February, former deputy chief of staff for the Department of Health and Human Services Paul Mango <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2021/12/12/covid-vaccines-how-americans-came-together-achieve-impossible/6460211001/">penned</a> an op-ed in USA Today, praising the team effort of the vaccine development under Trump:

Speaking on &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_5k6AJoNDs">The Breakfast Club</a>,&#8221; Temple University professor Marc Lamont Hill asserted that Fox News host Sean Hannity and former host Bill O&#8217;Reilly were as extremist and racist as anti-Semitic preacher Louis Farrakhan, and that the Israeli government bore responsibility for American police killing people.
Lamont Hill professed ignorance when he was asked if he was fired by CNN for his anti-Semitism, asserting, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know. They still haven&#8217;t told me that. They never told me it was anti-Semitic and it wasn&#8217;t anti-Semitic.&#8221;
Lamont Hill was fired after his comments at the United Nations, when he spoke of a free Palestine &#8220;from the river to the sea,&#8221; a phrase commonly used by anti-Semites to describe the extermination of the Jews living in Israel.
Asked if the phrase was offensive to the Jewish community, Lamont Hill replied, &#8220;I haven&#8217;t found that to be the case &#8230; I think there is a small sector of people who have a particular politics about that phrase.&#8221;
A host interjected, &#8220;That&#8217;s a lot more radical than your speech.&#8221;
Lamont Hill replied, &#8220;Right.&#8221; He added, &#8220;I want every part of the region to be free.&#8221; Lamont Hill did not mention that areas of Israel under the control of the Arab population are Judenrein. He continued, &#8220;There&#8217;s no way that black folk can be free if there&#8217;s folk on the continent that are unfree, in Latin America are unfree, or in Palestine that are unfree because we&#8217;re all oppressed by the same system.&#8221;
Host: &#8220;Many people are comparing this to apartheid, what&#8217;s going on in Palestine.&#8221;
Lamont Hill stated bluntly: &#8220;It is apartheid.&#8221;
Lamont Hill segued to discussing his association with the anti-Semitic and racist preacher Louis Farrakhan, saying that Farrakhan was no more extremist than Fox News host Sean Hannity and former host Bill O&#8217;Reilly:

But for some reason, if you meet with Minister Farrakhan and you don&#8217;t throw him away wholesale, then you&#8217;re castigated in a way that doesn&#8217;t happen with anybody else. I worked on Fox News for many years. No one ever said, &#8220;Why are you meeting, why are you sitting with Bill O&#8217;Reilly? Why are you sitting with Sean Hannity? Why are you sitting with Ann Coulter?&#8221; No one ever said that.
And I&#8217;m not comparing Farrakhan to them except to say that if you think they&#8217;re extremist, well I think they&#8217;re extremist. So why is only set of people untouchable? Why does every black leader have to ritually denounce Farrakhan in order to sustain a position? That doesn&#8217;t happen to anyone else. Again, Mr. Farrakhan is my brother. We don&#8217;t agree on some issues that I&#8217;ve mentioned.

Later in the broadcast, Lamont Hill attempted to blame the Israeli government for violence committed against the black community by police departments, asserting, &#8220;I can fight for black people here and struggle abroad but again, there&#8217;s a relationship between the two. The New York City police &#8212; they&#8217;re killing us but they&#8217;re trained by Israeli security forces.&#8221;
One host asked, &#8220;Really?&#8221;
Lamont Hill: &#8220;Yes! They&#8217;re being trained, New York City police and in other cities as well. So there&#8217;s a connection between the two. So I can&#8217;t stop one without the other. &#8230; There&#8217;s a relationship.&#8221;
A host commented that people would use the headline: &#8220;Mark Lamont Hill says that NYPD Police Officers are Killing People and They&#8217;re Trained By Israeli Jewish Security Forces.&#8221;
Lamont Hill responded by trying to make a distinction between the Israeli government and Jews, claiming there was a connection: &#8220;That&#8217;s what they&#8217;ll say, and now remember, I ain&#8217;t talking Jewish people; I&#8217;m talking about the Israeli state. This has nothing to do with Jewish people. I&#8217;m talking about the Israeli government.&#8221;

According to reports, Bill O&#8217;Reilly is staging a cable news comeback &#8212; but it won&#8217;t be with his former employer, which abruptly parted ways with him amid #MeToo <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/15529/breaking-oreilly-out-fox-news-daily-wire">accusations</a> before #MeToo was a thing. O&#8217;Reilly, sources tell <a href="https://pagesix.com/2018/05/14/bill-oreilly-in-talks-to-return-to-cable-news/?_ga=2.16044982.103838790.1526176471-173086073.1518796806">Page Six</a>, is currently in negotiations with another conservative cable network, Newsmax TV.
Page Six reports that Newsmax TV, which bills itself as a &#8220;kinder, gentler&#8221; Fox News, is angling to lock in O&#8217;Reilly, Greta Van Susteren, and Eric Bolling for its primetime lineup. Another well-known name rumored to be in the mix for a regular panel spot is former WH press secretary (and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/14096/sean-spicer-was-once-easter-bunny-%E2%80%94-white-house-joseph-curl">WH Easter Bunny</a>) Sean Spicer.
&#8220;The deals are not done yet, but talks are in the advanced stages, certainly with O&#8217;Reilly,&#8221; a source told Page Six. &#8220;The thinking is, following a 6 p.m. news show, Greta would anchor the 7 p.m. hour, O&#8217;Reilly would be back at 8 p.m., and Bolling could smoothly continue on at 9 p.m. Spicer and his cohorts would go on at 10 p.m., with the later slot allowing the show to be looser. But the deals are not yet signed and sealed.&#8221;
O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s talks with Newsmax reportedly gained momentum with the hiring of Fox&#8217;s former executive vice president of news, Michael Clemente.
O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s years-long stint at Fox News ended just over a year ago after sexual harassment allegations against him, including settlements he paid in response, came to light. Though O&#8217;Reilly has consistently denied the allegations as &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/15537/fox-news-ousts-oreilly-oreilly-responds-completely-ben-shapiro">completely unfounded</a>,&#8221; and says that he has evidence that the campaign against him has been largely waged by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/15505/character-assassination-oreilly-blasts-far-left-amanda-prestigiacomo">leftwing activist groups</a>, he agreed to leave the company in April 2017, Rupert Murdoch issuing a statement citing the allegations as the reason for the breakup.
&#8220;After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the Company and Bill O&#8217;Reilly have agreed that Bill O&#8217;Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel,&#8221; said Murdoch in an April 19 statement. O&#8217;Reilly issued his own statement that day that made clear his hand had been forced. &#8220;It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/15537/fox-news-ousts-oreilly-oreilly-responds-completely-ben-shapiro">wrote</a>. &#8220;But that is the unfortunate reality that many of us in the public eye must live with today.&#8221;

In a moment noted by <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/tv/sean-hannity-we-lost-three-quarters-of-fox-primetime-and-were-still-killing-it-in-the-ratings/">Mediaite</a>, Ingraham and her fellow Fox host Sean Hannity took a moment to celebrate the success of the lone conservative news network in general and, specifically, Ingraham, who beat out the competition this week. Here&#8217;s how Mediaite reported Ingraham&#8217;s success, which came &#8220;despite recent controversies&#8221; surrounding her show:

He also took the opportunity to thank the faithful Fox audience, who, if anything, grows all the more faithful amid campaigns targeting the network and its on-air personalities.
Hannity noted that over the last couple of years, Fox lost three out of the four of its primetime hosts (Bill O&#8217;Reilly, Megyn Kelly, and Greta Van Susteren), but continues to dominate the ratings. &#8220;You know, we can&#8217;t do this without this audience,&#8221; said Hannity. &#8220;You know, we lost three-quarters of Fox primetime, and we&#8217;re still killing it, we&#8217;re number one, thank God to this audience. And I mean that.&#8221;

On Monday, former Fox News host Bill O&#8217;Reilly <a href="https://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/bill-oreilly-allegations-tape-trump/2017/10/24/id/821821/">told</a> The Blaze&#8217;s Glenn Beck that there is a tape, which he&#8217;s personally heard, of an &#8220;anti-Trump&#8221; attorney offering a woman $200,000 to accuse President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct. &#8220;There is a tape, Beck, an audio tape of an anti-Trump person offering $200,000 to a woman to accuse Donald Trump of untoward behavior,&#8221; he said.
O&#8217;Reilly said Trump knows about the tape and suggested the charges the woman was allegedly being asked to make are false:
<blockquote>But I can tell you that Donald Trump knows about the tape. And I&#8217;m, for the life of me, sitting here going, &#8220;Why on earth are you allowing a movement to try to smear you when you have a powerful — and I mean it&#8217;s powerful — piece of evidence that shows that this is an industry. That there are false charges and money changing hands.&#8221; </blockquote>
The former O&#8217;Reilly Factor host said he is not currently in possession of the audio, but that it &#8220;will change the whole discussion if it ever gets out.&#8221;
Mr. O&#8217;Reilly also expressed dismay over Trump&#8217;s apparent choice to not move forward on the audio and vowed to personally bring the tape to the U.S. Attorney if need be.

O&#8217;Reilly: Again, it&#8217;s in the hands of someone who knows the seriousness of the situation.
Beck: What is their hesitancy?

<a href="http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/12/what-happened-to-trumps-16-sexual-misconduct-accusers.html">According</a> to New York Magazine, some 19 women have come forward to accuse Mr. Trump of acting inappropriately with them, the allegations ranging from making them feel uncomfortable to grabbing genitals without consent. The allegations were covered extensively during the 2016 presidential election but have been revived in light of the #MeToo campaign.
Mr. Trump has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct.
And, of course, O&#8217;Reilly is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/15537/fox-news-ousts-oreilly-oreilly-responds-completely-ben-shapiro">no stranger</a> to allegations of sexual misconduct, all of which he&#8217;s publicly denied. <a href="https://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/bill-oreilly-allegations-tape-trump/2017/10/24/id/821821/">Speaking</a> to Newsmax, O&#8217;Reilly said the alleged tape concerning Trump is also &#8220;related to my situation.&#8221;

While he&#8217;s a morning talk show host &#8212; one that sometimes <a href="http://www.tennessean.com/story/life/entertainment/2017/10/31/matt-lauer-dolly-parton-video-halloween-nbc-today-show-episode/816764001/">dresses up as Dolly Parton</a> or helps chefs cook Autumn pizzas &#8220;your teen will love&#8221; &#8212; Lauer has always played at being a &#8220;journalist.&#8221; He isn&#8217;t, of course, as he makes no effort to be unbiased, or if not unbiased, at least even-handed. He&#8217;s a morning show entertainer, nothing more.

Anyway, with the sudden firing of Lauer over what NBC is calling very credible allegations that the $25 million man committed a bit of &#8220;inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace,&#8221; we thought back to his pretentious grilling of Bill O&#8217;Reilly over his own allegations of sexual impropriety with women while host of a Fox News show.
&#8220;You were accused of sexual harassment,&#8221; Lauer says to O&#8217;Reilly, the two sitting opposite each other in high chairs. &#8220;You said at the time you did absolutely nothing wrong. Do you stand by that?&#8221;
&#8220;I do,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly says in the September 19 interview.
&#8220;So did you provide Fox News any evidence, any information that you think could have changed their minds as to what you were guilty or not guilty of?&#8221; Lauer asks.
Then this absolutely wonderful exchange happens.
&#8220;You were probably the last guy in the world that they wanted to fire, because you were the guy that the ratings and the revenues were built on. You carried that network on your shoulders for a lot of years,&#8221; Lauer said. &#8220;So doesn&#8217;t it seem safe to assume that the people at Fox News were given a piece of information, or given some evidence, that simply made it impossible for you to stay on at Fox News?&#8221;
Wow.
O&#8217;Reilly says no, calling that a &#8220;false assumption.&#8221;
&#8220;There were a lot of other business things in play at that time and still today that 21st Century was involved with,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly says. &#8220;And it was a business decision that they made. But there isn&#8217;t any smoking gun.&#8221;
&#8220;But you don&#8217;t let your No. 1 guy go unless you have information that you think makes him&#8230;&#8221; Lauer says.
&#8220;Sure you do,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly says. &#8220;That&#8217;s not true. There are billions of dollars at stake in business deals, and they made a business decision that they could possibly prosper more without me.&#8221;
&#8220;Why didn&#8217;t you sue those women if you say you did absolutely nothing wrong?&#8221; Lauer asks.
&#8220;Because you can&#8217;t win those lawsuits. If you&#8217;re a public figure, you cannot win them. And I could do that, but the collateral damage of these lawsuits, the press frenzy, every allegation is a conviction,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly says.
&#8220;You don&#8217;t have this story, Lauer, correct,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly says. &#8220;The lawsuits involved many people, many people. I was named in a few of them. This was a hit job, a political and financial hit job.&#8221;
&#8220;Was this a vast left-wing conspiracy?&#8221; Lauer says.
&#8220;Don&#8217;t be sarcastic,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly responds.
Then there was this great question to O&#8217;Reilly that now surely applies to Lauer himself:
&#8220;But think about those five women and what they did,&#8221; Lauer says. &#8220;They came forward and filed complaints against the biggest star at the network they worked at. Think of how intimidating that must have been, how nerve-wracking that must have been. Doesn&#8217;t that tell you how strongly they felt about the way they were treated by you?&#8221;
Ouch.
Oh, and one last Lauer question: &#8220;Were there any self-inflicted wounds here, Bill?&#8221;

FLASHBACK: Matt Lauer’s Now Really Embarrassing Interview With Bill O’Reilly

Former top-rated Fox News host Bill O&#8217;Reilly is back in the headlines after a report Saturday by the New York Times alleging that he paid a stunning $32 million in a settlement with an accuser. O&#8217;Reilly has since fired back, slamming the Times for printing more <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/22592/oreilly-nyt-report-saying-i-paid-32-million-james-barrett">&#8220;lies&#8221;</a> and addressing the issue on his web series Monday night. During Monday&#8217;s episode, O&#8217;Reilly admitted that in addition to blaming left-wing forces for drumming up outrage over the allegations, he&#8217;s partly &#8220;mad at God&#8221; over the whole thing.
&#8220;You know, am I mad at God? Yeah, I&#8217;m mad at him,&#8221; said O&#8217;Reilly on his &#8220;No Spin News&#8221; webcast Monday, <a href="http://​https://money.cnn.com/2017/10/23/media/bill-oreilly-misconduct-allegations/index.html">CNN</a> reports. &#8220;I wish I had more protection. I wish this stuff didn&#8217;t happen. I can&#8217;t explain it to you. Yeah, I&#8217;m mad at him.&#8221;
&#8220;If they could literally kill me, they would,&#8221; he said of his enemies on the left. &#8220;If I die tomorrow and I get an opportunity, I&#8217;ll say, &#8216;Why&#8217;d you guys work me over like that? Didn&#8217;t [you] know my children were going to be punished? And they&#8217;re innocent.&#8221;
O&#8217;Reilly went on to say that there are others who have had it much worse than him and acknowledged that he is a major target because he&#8217;s a &#8220;big mouth&#8221; on the right.
&#8220;But then I think about people who have it much, much rougher than me. And you know, I&#8217;m a big mouth. I&#8217;m a target. They&#8217;re not targets,&#8221; he said.
O&#8217;Reilly has consistently denied allegations of sexual misconduct, maintaining that he reached settlements with accusers to protect his family and that the campaign against him is &#8220;politically and financially motivated.&#8221;
&#8220;I never mistreated anyone,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly told the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/21/business/media/bill-oreilly-sexual-harassment.html">Times.</a> &#8220;It&#8217;s politically and financially motivated, and we can prove it with shocking information, but I’m not going to sit here in a courtroom for a year and a half and let my kids get beaten up every single day of their lives by a tabloid press that would sit there, and you know it.&#8221;
O&#8217;Reilly urged the Times to consider the damage their reporting can do, pointing to one of his former colleagues as an example. &#8220;I urge you to think about what you put in your newspaper. Eric Bolling’s son is dead,&#8221; O&#8217;Reilly said. &#8220;He’s dead, because of allegations made, in my opinion — and I know this to be true — against Mr. Bolling.&#8221;
That comment was met with a <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/22651/eric-bolling-oreilly-citing-bollings-deceased-son-hank-berrien">sharp response</a> from Bolling, who slammed O&#8217;Reilly for the &#8220;beyond inappropriate&#8221; reference. &#8220;I believe it is beyond inappropriate for anyone to bring in the death of my son Eric Chase Bolling, just as Bill O’Reilly had wanted to shield his children from the allegations against him. I hope he will honor my request and avoid any future mentions of my son,&#8221; said Bolling.
O&#8217;Reilly quickly apologized to Bolling, but tensions between O&#8217;Reilly and other former colleagues continue. On Monday, Megyn Kelly said she had <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/22612/watch-megyn-kelly-blasts-bill-oreilly-says-she-emily-zanotti">complained</a> about O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s response to sexual misconduct allegations against former Fox News chief Roger Ailes, but her complaint fell on deaf ears. Gretchen Carlson also weighed in publicly on the alleged $32 million settlement, tweeting, &#8220;Nobody pays $32m for false allegations — nobody.&#8221;
O&#8217;Reilly responded by posting images of <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/22628/lies-and-smears-bill-oreilly-posts-handwritten-amanda-prestigiacomo">handwritten notes</a> from Kelly and Carlson expressing their admiration and respect for him.

In the midst of the furor over sexual harassment allegations against him and his <a href="https://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2017/10/21/gretchen-carlson-has-something-to-say-about-bill-oreillys-32-million-settlement/">reported $32 million sexual harassment claim settlement</a>, former Fox anchor Bill O&#8217;Reilly used the death of former colleague Eric Bolling&#8217;s 19-year-old son to try to cajole reporters into a more sympathetic perspective regarding his sexual peccadilloes.
Speaking to The New York Times, O&#8217;Reilly warned, &#8220;I urge you to think about what you put in your newspaper. Eric Bolling&#8217;s son is dead. He&#8217;s dead, because of allegations made, in my opinion &#8212; and I know this to be true &#8212; against Mr. Bolling.&#8221;
As Emily Steel of The New York Times reported, Bolling, disturbed that O&#8217;Reilly would use the death of his son to further his personal agenda, fired back this salvo:

I believe it is beyond inappropriate for anyone to bring in the death of my son Eric Chase Bolling, just as Bill O&#8217;Reilly had wanted to shield his children from the allegations against him. I hope he will honor my request and avoid any future mentions of my son. My parting from Fox News was in no way connected to the tragic news of my son&#8217;s passing. The coroner has, in fact, indicated to us that they believe it was an accident. Unlike others who left Fox News amid public allegations and extensive investigations, I parted ways with Fox News in an amicable way and any reference to a firing is flatly wrong. I have been working on new collaborations which I will be announcing in the next few months.

The <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/ousted-fox-news-host-eric-bolling-19-year-old-son-found-dead-article-1.3482934%E2%80%8B">New York Daily News</a> had reported that Eric Chase Bolling, a student at the University of Colorado-Boulder, was found dead within hours of the announcement that his father had left Fox News amid allegations of sexual harassment.

On Monday, former Fox News host Bill O&#8217;Reilly went on the offense against sexual harassment allegations by posting handwritten notes from former colleagues Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, both of whom have blasted the former cable kingpin for harassment.

In response, former Fox News colleague Megyn Kelly took to the TODAY show airwaves to quickly call-out O&#8217;Reilly for his alleged lies. &#8220;O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s suggestion that no one ever complained about his behavior is false,&#8221; she claimed. &#8220;I know because I complained.&#8221;
