Billionaire Bill Gates said during an interview over the weekend that he believes that support for nuclear power is high in both of America&#8217;s major political parties.
Gates made the remarks during a Sunday CBS News interview with Margaret Brennan on &#8220;Face the Nation&#8221; when asked about a a new nuclear power plant that is now being built in Wyoming.
He said that he wants the U.S. to build dozens of new nuclear power plants and that it should try to get more than 100 built.
Addressing the possibility of nuclear power plant melting down, Gates said: &#8220;A problem when you shut a rector down it still has heat. That&#8217;s why Chernobyl was a problem and Fukushima. Our design, that goes away because since we use this sodium to cool everything, it can absorb all that heat. And so those accidents were both first in generation, second generation reactors. The third generation reactors dealt with that with a lot of complexity. So, those reactors are quite safe, but the cost overruns meant that the electricity will be very, very expensive. We solved the safety problem with a much simpler approach, but we have to start from scratch.&#8221;
He said that he was &#8220;quite confident&#8221; that there will be support for continuing to expand America&#8217;s arsenal of nuclear power plants regardless of who wins the election this fall.
&#8220;I meet with lots of Republicans. I meet with lots of Democrats,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I&#8217;d say that the support for nuclear power is very impressive in both parties. The reasons they support nuclear power may not be identical. The Republicans may emphasize the security issues, you know, energy security, exporting these power things to the entire world. The Democrats value those things but they also value that it&#8217;s a clean source of energy.&#8221;
&#8220;You really don&#8217;t want the nuclear reactors around the world made by your adversaries because it&#8217;s economically a huge job creator and because the materials involved in these reactors possibly could be diverted,&#8221; he later added. &#8220;You want your eye on, you know, making sure that it&#8217;s not feeding into some military-related activity. And so the U.S. leadership in this space has a lot of strategic benefits.&#8221;

Right now, there&#8217;s a very easy political win for President Joe Biden on the table that has two political facets. Number one would be rejecting these insane anti-American protesters on America&#8217;s college campuses. Facet number two would be supporting America&#8217;s democratic ally, Israel.
That would be a dual win for the Biden administration, but Joe Biden won’t take the win.
If these protesters were protesting for “white supremacy,” Biden would have no problem whatsoever condemning the message of the protest.
But he won&#8217;t condemn these. He&#8217;s even having trouble condemning the actual protesters themselves, even though they are incredibly well organized. The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/us-news/education/student-campus-protests-veteran-activist-groups-17ccd094" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on this last Friday: “The recent wave of pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses came on suddenly and shocked people across the nation. But the political tactics underlying some of the demonstrations were the result of months of training, planning and encouragement by longtime activists and left-wing groups.&#8221; 
This is the typical way that the Left works. They&#8217;ve been inter-community organizing since the 1960s and Saul Alinsky. There&#8217;s a reason Barack Obama was a community organizer. There&#8217;s a reason that the 1960s large-scale college organizations were able to push the Democratic Party far to the Left. There&#8217;s a reason they had extremely well-organized protesters and well-funded protests during BLM.
The Left knows how to do this. Agitation is an actual business to them.

It is not like the Republicans when they get together for a tea party, or even conservatives or Republicans who believed the election was stolen in 2021 and randomly got together on January 6 in a disorganized, ridiculous way and attempted to move into the Capitol building.
But the Left is well-organized. These people are drilled. They&#8217;re on message. This is, in fact, an army of activists that has been generated by actual funding and staffing.
The issue is that Biden is not going to cut off his funders — and he is being supported by the same people who are paying for these protests.
The polling data does not support what he&#8217;s doing as a matter of politics. It is incredibly stupid to steer away from the center, where Biden needs votes. But he wants the cash. And he is being supported by the same exact people who are funding all of these protests. An article published yesterday by <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/05/pro-palestinian-protests-columbia-university-funding-donors-00156135#:~:text=The%20donors%20include%20some%20of,Voice%20for%20Peace%20and%20IfNotNow." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Politico</a> explains this trail:

The donors include some of the biggest names in Democratic circles: Soros, Rockefeller and Pritzker, according to a POLITICO analysis. 
Two of the organizers supporting the protests at Columbia University and on other campuses are Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow. Both are supported by the Tides Foundation, which is seeded by Democratic megadonor George Soros and was previously supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It in turn supports numerous small nonprofits that work for social change.
Soros declined to comment. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which has previously funded the Tides Foundation and other groups, said it no longer has active grants to Tides. It also does not support Jewish Voice for Peace or IfNotNow.
Another notable Democratic donor whose philanthropy has helped fund the protest movement is David Rockefeller Jr., who sits on the board of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. In 2022, the fund gave $300,000 to the Tides Foundation; according to nonprofit tax forms, Tides has given nearly $500,000 over the past five years to Jewish Voice for Peace, which explicitly describes itself as anti-Zionist.
Several other groups involved in pro-Palestinian protests are backed by a foundation funded by Susan and Nick Pritzker, heir to the Hyatt Hotel empire — and supporters of Biden and numerous Democratic campaigns, including $6,600 to the Biden Victory Fund a few months ago and more than $300,000 during the 2020 campaign.</blockquote>
So why exactly are all of these funds giving money to JVP? Why are they doing all of that? The answer is because the Left believes that these are the leaders of the future. Just as the old crazies took over the campuses in the 60s and then became the powerhouses, administrators, and faculty, now they are hoping to build a new Democratic Party on the back of the radicals.
And Joe Biden is too weak to actually do anything about it.

A woman who alleged she had been sex-trafficked by the late Jeffrey Epstein chortled when news broke that the identities of 170 people connected with Epstein will be revealed.
Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was 17 at Epstein’s home, eventually settled a $12 million lawsuit with Prince Andrew. She reacted to Manhattan federal Judge Loretta Preska ordering the release of sealed documents from a defamation suit Giuffre filed in 2015 against Epstein’s madam, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Preska gave the individuals who will be named two weeks to appeal the decision, adding that most of the names had already been made public.
“Former President Bill Clinton and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates are just some of the prominent figures anticipated to be featured in the report — after both were photographed with alleged Epstein victims,” The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/12/20/news/jeffrey-epstein-victim-virginia-giuffre-taunts-those-to-be-named-in-unsealed-docs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. In 2019, Clinton&#8217;s spokesman <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/08/politics/bill-clinton-jeffrey-epstein/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, “President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York,” adding, “In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane: one to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation. &#8230; He had one meeting with Epstein in his Harlem office in 2002, and around the same time made one brief visit to Epstein’s New York apartment with a staff member and his security detail.”
When she filed the lawsuit against Andrew, Guiffre <a href="https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/567063-epstein-victim-files-lawsuit-against-prince-andrew-alleging/">stated</a>, “I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me. The powerful and rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions. I hope that other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but to reclaim one’s life by speaking out and demanding justice.”
“I did not come to this decision lightly,” she added. “As a mother and a wife, my family comes first — and I know that this action will subject me to further attacks by Prince Andrew and his surrogates — but I knew if I did not pursue this action, I would be letting them and victims everywhere down.”

Unless you’re a climate warrior or an energy wonk, you probably weren’t aware of last week’s end of the 28th edition of the “Council of the Parties,” better known as COP28, held this year in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Don’t be surprised if you weren’t one of over 84,000 delegates – more than double the previous record – who got an invite. It’s probably because you are not a raging hypocrite. COP28 attendees spent the better part of two weeks in deep discussion over the “existential threat” of a so-called “climate crisis,” and how the world needs to respond before it is too late to save the planet from imminent doom.
When you add to the expansive delegate count the thousands more non-delegate support staff, media, climate-warrior groupies, and casual onlookers, the ultimate outcome is that <a href="https://unfccc.int/sites/default/files/resource/COP28.PLOP__0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">over 100,000</a> people – who all claim to love Mother Earth more than anything – felt the need to inundate Dubai rather than jump on Zoom sessions or conference calls to discuss how to save the planet. Remember, Zoom is good enough for kids locked out of schools, but not good enough for climate junkets.
Delegates spent two weeks in Dubai staying in 5-star resorts, feasting on gourmet meals, drinking top-shelf alcohol, being driven around in stretch limousines, “laboring” in air-conditioned conference facilities, and engaging in unknown debauchery when not working to rid the earth of traditional energy solutions, like coal, oil, and natural gas.
When not engaged in extracurricular activities, COP28’s delegates created a bunch of work-product to justify their junket.
First on the menu, pun intended, was an <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/11/28/lifestyle/un-calling-on-americans-to-cut-down-on-meat-consumption/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">effort to cancel meat</a>. Keep in mind, they just want to cancel your holiday meal, not their own. Then, the delegations <a href="https://unfccc.int/event/adaptation-fund-high-level-contributor-dialogue" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pledged</a> hundreds of millions of dollars toward helping developing nations impacted by the “crisis.” Forget that these dollars will never be used to help those nations grow their GDPs nor their energy independence; instead, the World Bank will administer the money to the ruling class in those countries. What could possibly go wrong giving more money and power to the elite?   
The most celebrated output from COP28 was a <a href="https://unfccc.int/news/cop28-agreement-signals-beginning-of-the-end-of-the-fossil-fuel-era" target="_blank" rel="noopener">final agreement</a> calling for the “beginning of the end” of all fossil fuel development. This “global stockade” – signed by delegations representing more than 200 countries is, according to the United Nations, the vehicle by which “[p]arties take actions towards…the phase-down of unabated coal power, phasing out inefficient fossil fuel subsidies, and other measures that drive the transition away from fossil fuels in energy systems, in a just, orderly and equitable manner&#8230;”
Let’s take this in for a minute: 84,000 delegates spent two weeks living in luxury, and their takeaway was that fossil fuels – which, between coal, natural gas, and oil power over 80% of the world today – are the enemy of the planet?
News flash: none of the climate hypocrites, COP28 delegates, would be meeting in Dubai in the first place without fossil fuels. None of them – not a single one – made it there, stayed there, communicated to their home countries, families or each other while there, enjoyed their lavish lifestyle while there or made it home from there without direct or byproduct use of fossil fuels.
So, the next time you hear about the good work being done at the COP events – and make no mistake, we’ll see COP29, COP 39, COP49, and so on – remember that they are giant parties designed to bring powerful, wealthy ideologues together to rage against the very products that have made their powerful, wealthy lives possible.
COP should stand for the “Council of the Pointless.”

Congressman Mike Waltz (R-FL), a former Green Beret, sent financial titan Bill Gates a letter warning him that he might be exposed to counterterrorism sanctions because he is a primary owner of the Four Seasons Hotel chain, which has reportedly housed Hamas terrorists.
Cascade Investments, an assets management firm Gates founded and owns, “reportedly acquired a 47.5 percent stake in Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts when that company went private. In 2021, that control was increased by the purchase of 23.75 percent of the company from Prince al-Waleed’s Kingdom Holding Company, which increased Cascade’s share to 71.25 percent, giving it majority control of the company,” Waltz noted.
In 2015, senior Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal <a href="https://freebeacon.com/national-security/hamas-chief-holds-press-conference-at-four-seasons-hotel/">reportedly</a> held a press conference in the Four Seasons in Doha, Qatar. In 2016, Meshaal <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/turkish-pm-hamas-chief-meet-in-qatar-as-ankara-inks-defense-deal/">reportedly</a> used the same hotel for a closed-door meeting with then-Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
Hamas has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S. Any U.S. persons who give the group material support can be hit with legal penalties, including up to life in prison.
Waltz wrote to Gates:

As you are the founder and owner of Cascade Investment, L.L.C, which has a controlling stake in Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, I write with dual purpose: to warn you of the counterterrorism sanctions to which you and your employees are potentially exposed and to ask you to take a personal stand against Hamas by publicly pledging to ban it from using the Four Seasons or any other properties you own.
According to news reports, Hamas personnel have used the Four Seasons in Doha for official Hamas-linked events in the past, such as a 2015 press conference by senior Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal. In 2016, Meshaal further reportedly met with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu at the Four Seasons in Doha. Others have allegedly stayed there since, including during and after Hamas’s horrific terrorist attack that has so far resulted in at least 1,400 people killed in Israel, 3,400 others wounded, and 199 kidnapped. At least 260 people alone were killed at a music festival near Kibbutz Re’im. The State Department has confirmed that so far 30 U.S. citizens have been killed with another 13 unaccounted for. There is credible reporting of beheaded infants, people burned alive, others raped, still others likely to be tortured, with their agony broadcast, during the weeks ahead.
 As you may know, Hamas has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1189) since 1997. This designation carries two distinctive penalties. First, it exposes any U.S. persons who gives the group material support to significant legal penalties, including up to life in prison.
Perhaps more immediately, it mandates a broad exclusion from the United States any non-U.S. persons that engages in terrorist activity, including through actions like providing material support, such as housing, for terrorists. Names involved in this activity can be added to the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment (TIDE), the U.S. government’s central repository on international terrorist activity. Unlike a prosecution by the Justice Department, the bar for adding names to TIDE is usually much lower and is classified. Names from TIDE are then exported by the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) to support watchlists like the Transportation Security Administration’s “Do Not Fly” list and the State Department’s visa database, among others. U.S. persons can also be added to TIDE. In 2017 – that is, before the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps was designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization and with its wide network of enablers became subject to the provisions of the designation – there were about 1.6 million people in TIDE. Though the Secretary of State and Secretary of Homeland Security can issue exemptions for certain limited material support, among other things, as a matter of policy these can be reversed by a future administration.
 In the case of the Hamas FTO, this directly concerns you and your employees. In 2007 Cascade Investment, an asset management firm which you own and which controls much of your foundation and your family’s money, reportedly acquired a 47.5 percent stake in Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts when that company went private. In 2021, that control was increased by the purchase of 23.75 percent of the company from Prince al-Waleed’s Kingdom Holding Company, which increased Cascade’s share to 71.25 percent, giving it majority control of the company.
I urge you to ensure that neither your companies, nor your employees, nor you yourself are providing such materiel support to Hamas or any other FTO. An affirmative finding by the government may not be communicated to you or them immediately, but rather revealed through either an indictment, through a future refusal of entry at a U.S. port, or some other action. I would advise you to socialize this knowledge with the staff of Cascade Investment, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and your Four Seasons hotel in Doha.
I further note with concern your silence on the appalling massacre of Israelis that occurred last weekend. This seems particularly difficult to understand given your focus on humanitarian causes and potentially carries significant reputational damage. I urge you and your companies to make a statement on behalf of the people of Israel and pledge to prevent any future use of the Four Seasons by Hamas.

Gates met with Xi this week, alongside Chinese Foreign Secretary Qin Gang and chief Chinese diplomat Wang Yi. Xi and Gates discussed pandemic prevention and technological development, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-06-16/gates-foundation-city-of-beijing-team-up-to-battle-diseases?srnd=premium-asia&amp;sref=PFCuwcPr&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_content=business&amp;cmpid=socialflow-twitter-business&amp;utm_campaign=socialflow-organic#xj4y7vzkg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Bloomberg. 
“You are the first American friend I’ve met in Beijing this year,” Xi told Gates, in a discussion that was broadcast on China Central Television, a state-backed broadcaster. 
“I’ve always said that the foundation of China-U.S. ties lies among the people,” Xi said. “We always pin our hopes on [the] American people and hope the two peoples can continue to be friendly.”

Gates went on to say that much could be learned from China on issues of poverty and health. 
“Solving problems like climate change, health inequity and food insecurity requires innovation. From developing malaria drugs to investing in climate adaptation, China has a lot of experience in that. We need to unlock that kind of progress for more people around the world,” he said.

Gates, who has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bill-gates-praises-china-theyve-done-a-very-good-job" target="_blank" rel="noopener">praised</a> China before, has come under fire after Microsoft was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-bill-gates-secretly-partnered-with-china-and-sold-out-the-american-people" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> of aiding in the censorship of Chinese dissidents. In 2005, Microsoft banned Chinese journalist Zhao Jing after a request from the CCP, according to Amnesty International. Gates has also downplayed the scope of Chinese censorship. 
The meeting between Xi and Gates comes before U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to travel to China. A previous trip from Blinken to China was canceled after a Chinese spy balloon floated over the U.S. 
“While in Beijing, Secretary Blinken will meet with senior PRC officials where he will discuss the importance of maintaining open lines of communication to responsibly manage the U.S.-PRC relationship. A trespassing charge against a conservative activist investor who was arrested at <a href="https://nlpc.org/featured-news/nlpc-chairman-peter-flaherty-is-arrested-during-berkshire-shareholder-proposal-presentation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Berkshire Hathaway&#8217;s recent shareholder meeting</a> after bringing up dead pedophile <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeffrey-epstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeffrey Epstein</a> has been dropped.
The Daily Wire has learned that a prosecutor in Omaha, Nebraska, informed Peter Flaherty, chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), last week that he reviewed the case and declined prosecution.
While the prosecutor could not immediately be reached for comment, Flaherty said in a phone call on Tuesday that it was &#8220;the weakest case imaginable&#8221; and is &#8220;glad&#8221; the charge is no more.
At the annual meeting in Omaha earlier this month, Flaherty had been recognized to speak in support of a proposal to require the roles of CEO and chairman be held by two different people. Both of those titles are held by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/warren-buffett-talks-with-biden-officials-about-possible-bank-investment-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Warren Buffett</a>, and Flaherty argued the Omaha-based company would be less identified with Buffett&#8217;s political activities if the chair was independent.
After getting into how Buffett <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/warren-buffett-resigns-gates-foundation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">donated</a> billions of dollars to Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates&#8217; foundation, as well as efforts supporting Critical Race Theory and gender ideology, Flaherty said a Berkshire official approached to tell him to stay on topic. Buffett gave him the go-ahead to continue, and that&#8217;s when Flaherty mentioned Gates&#8217; ties to Epstein.

Arrest documents show Flaherty had been charged with refusing to comply with a request to leave. He was released on a $250 bond and was expected back in court on May 22 until the case was dropped.
The Daily Wire left a voicemail with Berkshire Hathaway seeking comment, but never got a reply.

Flaherty, who believes he &#8220;touched the third rail of billionaire relations: Jeffrey Epstein,” said the issue is even more prevalent now following a <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/jeffrey-epstein-bill-gates-affair-russian-bridge-player-8b2022ff" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report by The Wall Street Journal</a> over the weekend that said Epstein learned Gates <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jeffrey-epstein-threatened-bill-gates-with-sexual-blackmail-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly had an affair</a> with a young Russian woman and later appeared to threaten to expose the tryst if the billionaire refused to do business with him.
Gates has acknowledged only having engagements with Epstein for what he says were philanthropic reasons. &#8220;Having failed repeatedly to draw Mr. Gates beyond these matters, Epstein tried unsuccessfully to leverage a past relationship to threaten Mr. Gates,&#8221; a spokesperson for Gates told the publication. Melinda French Gates cited her now-ex-husband&#8217;s meetings with Epstein, <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/melinda-french-gates-says-jeffrey-epstein-helped-break-up-marriage-to-bill-gate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whom she called &#8220;abhorrent,&#8221;</a> while telling CBS last year about the various factors that led to her divorce from Bill Gates.
In 2008, after Epstein was accused of sexually abusing female minors in Florida, he reached a deal with federal prosecutors. He pleaded guilty to state-level prostitution charges, registered as a sex offender, and served roughly 13 months in jail and in a work-release program. Epstein died at the age of 66 in his New York City jail cell in August 2019 after being arrested on sex trafficking charges involving young girls and pleading not guilty.
Although the proposal sponsored by NLPC was defeated, Flaherty says it garnered enough support to be raised again next year. Pressed on how he might now respond to Berkshire Hathaway following the arrest, Flaherty said his team is &#8220;evaluating legal options.&#8221;

Jeffrey Epstein reportedly learned that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates had an affair with a young Russian woman and later appeared to threaten to expose the tryst if Gates refused to do business with him.
The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/jeffrey-epstein-bill-gates-affair-russian-bridge-player-8b2022ff">reported</a> that Gates met Russian bridge player Mila Antonova in 2010 when she was in her 20s and he was in his mid-50s.
Epstein met Antonova in 2013 and paid for her to attend software coding school. After she graduated, and while Epstein was trying to get Gates to join a project he was working on, Epstein reportedly sent Gates an email asking to be reimbursed for her schooling.
The amount of money the schooling cost was trivial for people as wealthy as Epstein or Gates, the report said.
Sources told the publication that the email implied that Epstein could expose the affair if Gates cut off his ties to Epstein.
&#8220;Mr. Gates met with Epstein solely for philanthropic purposes,&#8221; a spokesperson for Gates said. &#8220;Having failed repeatedly to draw Mr. Gates beyond these matters, Epstein tried unsuccessfully to leverage a past relationship to threaten Mr. Gates.&#8221;
The spokesperson said that Gates did not make the payment.
Epstein reportedly sent the message after Gates declined to join a multibillion-dollar charitable fund that he was trying to create with JPMorgan Chase that would have paid Epstein millions of dollars in fees and would help to rehabilitate his image after he pled guilty to soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution in 2008.
Gates had over a half dozen meetings scheduled with Epstein beginning in 2011 that included trips to Epstein’s private residence in New York, according to the report.

“What a good teacher does is take your essay and mark it up and say, ‘Oh, this isn’t clear, and the summary should have included this.’ That is a high cognitive exercise, and software, except at the really trivial kind of grammar level, has had essentially zero,” the multibillionaire noted. “Particularly once you get out of a very templated writing exercise, the amount of feedback to help me improve my writing is very low and these AIs actually are good at that.”
Gates, who spends much of his fortune bankrolling education initiatives and supporting progressive social policies across the world, noted that the accessibility of AI language tools will quickly rise as hardware and software improves, potentially diminishing the effective cost of educational advancement for underprivileged students. “Having access to a tutor is too expensive for most students,” he continued, “especially having that tutor adapt and remember everything that you’ve done and look across your entire body of work.”

The U.S. Agency For International Development (USAID) is partnering with the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bill-gates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation</a> to promote “digital gender equality” in Africa and around the world by providing millions in taxpayer and private funds for the project. 
The money will <a href="https://www.usaid.gov/news-information/press-releases/apr-17-2023-usaid-and-bill-melinda-gates-foundation-announce-call-partners-newly-launched-women-digital-economy-fund" target="_blank" rel="noopener">come from</a> the newly inaugurated Women in Digital Economy Fund announced by Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a>, and will go toward organizations that provide women with phones, “media literacy,” and do research on responding to “social norms” in the technological world, among other initiatives. 
“Working with Congress, USAID plans to commit up to $50 million in Gender Equity and Equality Action (GEEA) fund resources toward this effort over the next four years, subject to the availability of funds, and the Gates Foundation will commit $10 million, with at least half of each of these commitments focused on Africa,” USAID announced on Monday. 
USAID said the initiative was a good opportunity for public and private sector collaboration. The fund will “support, wherever possible, women-led solutions, products, and tools,” according to the development agency. 
The “digital gender equality” push comes as USAID released a new “gender equality and women&#8217;s empowerment” <a href="https://www.usaid.gov/sites/default/files/2023-03/2023_Gender%20Policy_508.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">framework</a> last month that suggested ensuring access to abortion as a policy goal to support around the world. 
According to the policy, one goal of USAID was helping to bring “improved access, quality, and use of health care for all individuals across the life course — including gender-diverse and LGBTQI+ individuals — with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights.&#8221;
“USAID affirms that the promotion of the rights of gender-diverse individuals — those with a gender identity beyond the binary categories of man or woman — is integral to the advancement of gender equality,” the new framework added.

This tied into another goal of USAID described in the framework of strengthening “health services to provide integrated, client-centered, respectful, gender-affirming, and high-quality care.” 
USAID has <a href="https://www.usaid.gov/india/press-release/usaid-and-johns-hopkins-university-celebrate-success-indias-first-transgender-clinic" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously supported</a> the launch of “India’s first transgender clinic,” which provides “guidance and medication on hormone therapy and gender affirmation procedures.”
Other entities in the Biden administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-evangelism-how-the-state-department-is-pushing-the-lefts-gender-ideology-around-the-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have also pushed</a> gender ideology abroad, which has included pushing other countries to expand legal identifications from male and female to promoting transgender health clinics. 
For example, the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata aided in the opening of “the first transgender clinic in eastern India,” in February 2020, <a href="https://share.america.gov/us-supports-transgender-clinics-india/">according to</a> Share America, the State Department’s news platform.

No. No, he is not. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, is not causing an egg shortage to sell you fake eggs.
But that&#8217;s one of the online conspiracy theories about the soaring price of eggs and, more, the sudden drop in production.
&#8220;Bill Gates Invested In Artificial Eggs a Decade Before Egg Shortage,&#8221; one website <a href="https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/01/bill-gates-invested-artificial-eggs-decade-egg-shortage/">reported</a> last month. Ah, playing the long game by waiting 10 years. He&#8217;s smart, that Gates.
<a href="https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2023/jan/25/instagram-posts/the-bill-gates-egg-shortage-conspiracy-isnt-all-it/">Politifact</a> looked into the claim, noting that in the last 10 years, Gates has invested in multiple faux food companies, including Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods. And since 2020, Gates has &#8220;held the title of the nation’s largest private farmland owner,&#8221; owning nearly 250,000 acres of farmland across more than a dozen states.
&#8220;There is no evidence these investments are linked to a nationwide shortage in chicken and egg products,&#8221; Politifact wrote.
But remember, Politifact leans left, as noted by <a href="https://www.allsides.com/news-source/politifact">All Sides</a>, which rates the bias of outlets. And also, remember that when President Barack Obama said in 2009, &#8220;If you like your health care plan, you can keep it,” Politifact said, &#8220;his description of his plan is accurate, and we rate his statement True.”
In 2013, the fact-checking group finally admitted what we all knew, deeming Obama&#8217;s statement it&#8217;s &#8220;Lie Of The Year,&#8221; Forbes <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/12/27/in-2008-politifacts-2013-lie-of-the-year-that-you-could-keep-your-health-plan-under-obamacare-it-rated-true/?sh=2d0aa7387c14">reported</a>. So, shakerful of salt, people.
There are other claims about lower egg production, including posts on social media from backyard chicken owners who say their hens are laying fewer eggs &#8212; or none at all.
After a previous piece I wrote about eggs, Belinda Woodruff of Makin Magic Ranch in Weatherford, Texas, dropped me a line.
&#8220;I raise chickens and for quite a few months they haven&#8217;t been laying. They usually slow down in winter, but I have a couple of breeds that lay pretty much all year and even they stopped,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I watched a video recently of someone else whose chickens stopped laying. Then I find out there&#8217;s hundreds of videos from all over on TikTok whose chickens have also stopped laying.&#8221;
&#8220;Also there&#8217;s a shortage of eggs in the stores. Why doesn&#8217;t some lab test the chicken feed to see what&#8217;s going on? I believe it&#8217;s all on purpose. The only chickens I have laying right now are the few that I let run around loose in three fenced yard around my house. I have a 10 acre ranch,&#8221; Woodruff wrote.
Well, Politifact looked into this, too.
&#8220;There is no evidence that commercial feed is being sabotaged to negatively impact the number of eggs that backyard hens are laying, multiple experts said.&#8221;
The fact-checking site also <a href="https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2023/feb/07/facebook-posts/chicken-feed-being-sabotaged-elaborate-plot-no-the/">said,</a> &#8220;Tractor Supply and other major feed suppliers targeted by these claims confirmed that they haven’t changed their formulas. &#8230; We rate this False.&#8221;
Still, Woodruff&#8217;s story is intriguing. She&#8217;s seen firsthand that chickens are producing fewer eggs. So, how to explain that? &#8220;Experts we spoke with cited a variety of factors that may hinder backyard hens from laying eggs, including improper nutrition, infection and stress,&#8221; Politifact wrote.
Yes, life in 2023 is pretty stressful, but are all the chickens really stressed out? Doesn&#8217;t seem all that plausible.
Here&#8217;s a fact that doesn&#8217;t need to be checked. The average price for large Grade A eggs was $4.25 a dozen in December, up from $1.79 exactly a year earlier, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data. By the way, a dozen eggs cost just $1.33 in August 2020.
Megan McArdle, a Washington Post columnist and the author of &#8220;The Up Side of Down: Why Failing Well Is the Key to Success,&#8221; worked some magic mathematics of her own. Unlike President Joe Biden, she did not blame &#8220;Putin&#8217;s price hike&#8221; but explained that chickens have gotten sick, and that&#8217;s leading to the higher price.
&#8220;The truth is that U.S. egg production is still recovering from a bout of avian flu that has devastated flocks in the United States and Europe,&#8221; she <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/02/07/egg-prices-history-relative-economics/">wrote</a>. &#8220;And while activists and senators are puzzled by how a 29 percent decline in egg production can lead to a much larger increase in the price of eggs, agricultural economist Jayson Lusk says that’s exactly what you would expect with a product for which demand is relatively insensitive to price changes.&#8221;
But Farm Action, a farmer advocacy group, has a whole different theory for the price hike. The group says the &#8220;real culprit&#8221; behind sky-high prices is a &#8220;collusive scheme&#8221; among top U.S. egg producers to fix prices to gouge consumers.
In a <a href="https://farmaction.us/2023/01/19/farm-action-calls-for-ftc-to-investigate-record-high-egg-prices/?utm_source=substack&amp;amp;amp;amp;utm_medium=email">letter</a> to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) last month, Farm Action said the alleged collusion has helped egg producers to &#8220;extract egregious profits reaching as high as 40%.&#8221;
And the letter said avian flu is not to blame.
&#8220;Examining publicly-available financial data from the egg industry, the letter determines that the supply disruption caused by the avian flu outbreak had an &#8216;apparently mild impact on the industry,’” the group said in a press release.
Plus, the group said egg producers like Cal-Maine are making money hand over fist.
&#8220;For the 26-week period ending on November 26, 2022, Cal-Maine reported a ten-fold year-over-year increase in gross profits — from $50.392 million to $535.339 million — and a five-fold increase in its gross margins,&#8221; the letter said.
And the group says, &#8220;the real culprit behind this 138 percent hike in the price of a carton of eggs appears to be a collusive scheme among industry leaders to turn inflationary conditions and an avian flu outbreak into an opportunity to extract egregious profits reaching as high as 40 percent.&#8221;
“In the end, what Cal-Maine Foods and the other large egg producers did last year — and seem to be intent on doing again this year — is extort billions of dollars from the pockets of ordinary Americans through what amounts to a tax on a staple we all need: eggs,” the letter said. “They did so without any legitimate business justification. They did so because there is no &#8216;reasonable substitute&#8217; for a carton of eggs. They did so because they had power and weren’t afraid to use it.”
