Four people, including a young pregnant woman, were killed and at least six more were wounded when Hamas terrorists opened fire at a bus stop in Jerusalem Thursday morning, according to police. The terror attack took place after Hamas had promised to abide by a temporary ceasefire. 
At around 7:40 a.m. local time, two Palestinian gunmen jumped out of a vehicle at the bus stop near a main entrance to the capital city and fired at the people waiting for the bus, The Times of Israel <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/three-killed-6-injured-in-terror-shooting-at-jerusalem-entrance-bus-stop/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The terrorists were shot dead at the scene after two off-duty soldiers and an armed civilian returned fire. The Shin Bet security agency said the terrorists were brothers and members of Hamas who had previously been jailed for terrorist activity. 
Surveillance <a href="https://twitter.com/visegrad24/status/1730121365628256361" target="_blank" rel="noopener">footage</a> showed the two Hamas members jump out of their vehicle and immediately start shooting into the crowd at the bus stop. Within seconds, three people surround the terrorists and return fire, killing them at the scene. The terrorists used an M-16 rifle and a handgun and police found a large amount of ammunition when they searched the brothers’ vehicle, according to The Times of Israel. 
Livia Dickman, a 24-year-old woman who was pregnant with her first child, was declared dead at the scene of the terror attack, while Ashdod rabbinical judge Elimelech Wasserman, 73, and Hannah Ifergan, a woman in her 60s, were declared dead at the hospital. Two others taken to the hospital were in serious condition, three were listed as in moderate condition, and a sixth was in good condition, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared his condolences with the family members of those who were killed in the attack and praised the quick actions of Israelis who took down the terrorists. 
“My wife Sarah and I send our condolences from the bottom of our hearts to the families of those murdered in the attack in Jerusalem. We all pray for the peace of the wounded. The quick reaction of two fighters and a civilian who eliminated the terrorists prevented an even more serious attack. I salute them,” Netanyahu <a href="https://twitter.com/netanyahu/status/1730140838255096206" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement. 
“All Hamas terrorists are mortal &#8211; in Jerusalem, Gaza, Judea and Samaria &#8211; everywhere,” he added. “I appreciate the fact that both fighters and the civilian acted quickly on the ground. The government headed by me will continue expanding the distribution of weapons to citizens. This is a measure that proves itself time and time again in the war against murderous terrorism.”
Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack, calling the terrorists “jihad-waging martyrs.” The older brother was jailed from 2010 to 2020 for planning attacks in coordination with terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, and the younger brother was jailed in 2014 for undisclosed terror activity, Shin Bet said. After the shooting at the bus stop, Israeli police said officers arrested six of the terrorists&#8217; family members, including their parents, during a raid on their home.

The terror attack in Jerusalem came on the 55th day of the war between Israel and Hamas, which began after the brutal October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, which killed over 1,200 people. Hamas&#8217; latest attack on civilians also came during a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terrorists-violate-temporary-ceasefire-in-gaza-as-israeli-forces-come-under-attack-idf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">temporary ceasefire</a>, which Israel and Hamas leaders agreed to last week to negotiate the release of hostages taken into Gaza by the terrorists. 
Hamas also violated the temporary ceasefire after attacking Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops in multiple locations, the IDF said on Tuesday.

After Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau criticized Israel for its efforts to target Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, underneath which reportedly lies a command headquarters of the terrorist group Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired back hard, pointing out the atrocities of Hamas and the care Israel has taken to try to keep Palestinian citizens out of harm’s way.
“The human tragedy that is unfolding in Gaza is heartwrenching, especially the suffering we see in and around Al-Shifa hospital,” Trudeau said, ignoring reports, including from the Biden administration, that Hamas has located their headquarters under the hospital in violation of international law.
“I have been clear that the price of justice cannot be the continued suffering of all Palestinian civilians,&#8221; Trudeau continued. “Even wars have rules; all innocent life is equal in worth, Israeli and Palestinian. I urge the government of Israel to exercise maximum restraint. The world is watching on TV, on social media; we’re hearing the testimonies of doctors, family members, survivors, kids who’ve lost their parents. The world is witnessing this; the killing of women, children, of babies. This has to stop.”
The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/10/08/was-the-attack-on-the-kunduz-hospital-a-war-crime/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explains</a> concerning international humanitarian laws, “Using a hospital for military activities, personnel or equipment is prohibited. However, when a hospital is used for military purposes, it loses its protection from attack and can become a lawful military objective.”
The Biden administration has publicly confirmed U.S. intelligence reports that Hamas is using the Al-Shifa hospital as cover for its terror operation, including installing a &#8220;command node&#8221; under the hospital.
“We have information that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad use some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including Al-Shifa, and tunnels underneath them to conceal and to support their military operations and to hold hostages,” National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby <a href="https://www.wpr.org/israel-says-its-troops-have-entered-al-shifa-hospital-gaza-city" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> this week. “A U.S. official with knowledge of American intelligence says Hamas has a command node under the Al-Shifa hospital, uses fuel intended for it and its fighters regularly cluster in and around Gaza’s largest hospital,” CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/13/politics/al-shifa-hospital-us-intelligence/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> on Monday.
Netanyahu responded Tuesday to Trudeau&#8217;s criticism of Israel&#8217;s handling of the war against the terror group.
“It is not Israel that is deliberately targeting civilians but Hamas that beheaded, burned and massacred civilians in the worst horrors perpetrated on Jews since the Holocaust,” Netanyahu retorted. “While Israel is doing everything to keep civilians out of harm’s way, Hamas is doing everything to keep them in harm’s way. Roughly two weeks after the Hamas massacre of <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/daily-briefing-nov-13-day-38-why-israel-reduced-the-official-october-7-death-toll/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1,200</a> Israelis on October 7, Trudeau, who had publicly criticized the state of Israel and expressed sympathies for Palestinians in the past, issued a tweet saying that his government was “here” for Palestinian, Arab, and black Muslim communities.
“As members of the Palestinian, Arab, and Black Muslim communities gathered for prayer yesterday, I wanted them to know this: We know you’re worried and hurting. We’re here for you. We will not stop advocating for civilians to be protected and for international law to be upheld,” he declared.
Trudeau has a history of siding with Palestinian terrorists over Israel. In May 2018, Hamas in Gaza organized protests in which they had a multitude of their members demonstrating at the border in order to initiate conflict with Israel, likely so that Hamas members could ultimately infiltrate Israel and implement terrorist attacks. Hamas <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamas-official-50-of-the-people-killed-in-gaza-riots-were-members/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">later admitted</a> that 50 of the 62 Palestinians reported killed during the Gaza border riots were members of the Islamist terrorist group.
After the cynically manipulated event caused international outrage against Israel, Yoram Schweitzer, an expert on international terrorism, wrote in the <a href="https://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/Hamas-planned-and-predetermined-the-tragedy-in-Gaza-557708" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jerusalem Post:</a>

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed during an interview over the weekend that multiple reports that have emerged in recent weeks of Hamas shooting at Palestinians trying to flee Gaza were accurate.
Netanyahu made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union&#8221; with Dana Bash while documenting how Israel has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-idf-protects-50000-palestinians-fleeing-northern-gaza-coordinates-safety-for-those-evacuating-hospital">worked</a> tirelessly to open evacuation corridors allowing Palestinians to escape northern Gaza.
&#8220;Hamas is doing everything in their power to keep them in harm&#8217;s way,&#8221; he said, later adding: &#8220;It&#8217;s fired on the safe zone and the safe corridor that we enacted the other day to prevent Palestinians from leaving harm&#8217;s way.&#8221;
He called Hamas&#8217; actions &#8220;savagery of the highest order,&#8221; saying that it was important that the U.S. and Europe assist Israel in its fight against Islamic terrorism before it spreads back into the Europe and the U.S.
&#8220;The Middle East will fall,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Europe is next. You will be next.&#8221;
When Bash confronted Netanyahu about civilians that have potentially been killed in Israel&#8217;s precision airstrikes inside Gaza, Netanyahu said that the country was doing everything in its power to minimize the loss of innocent life unlike Hamas, which invaded Israel last month and intentionally targeted civilians.
&#8220;The Allies were attacked by Hitler, and so they invaded France and then Germany,&#8221; Netanyahu said. &#8220;And when they did that, they went into the cities. They had to fight the German army that was often embedded in the cities, in civilian neighborhoods. And many civilians were killed.&#8221;
&#8220;So, who was the blame laid on? Did they say, &#8216;well, the Allies are wrong, the Allies should stop fighting?'&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Or did the say, &#8216;look, use forces judiciously as you can, but don&#8217;t give the Nazis any refuge, defeat the Nazis&#8217;, which is what we&#8217;re doing. We&#8217;re using force in the most judicious way, but we have to defeat these new Nazis. And we will, for our sake, for your sake too.&#8221;

Netanyahu made the remarks at a press conference with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister Benny Gantz at the Kirya in Tel Aviv.
The remarks come as Israel enters its sixth week of war against Hamas after the Palestinian terrorist group murdered 1,200 Israeli civilians, wounded 5,300, and took more than 240 hostage.
&#8220;The war against Hamas-ISIS is advancing at full force and it has one goal – victory. There is no substitute for victory. We will eliminate Hamas and bring back our hostages,&#8221; he said. &#8220;IDF forces have completed the encirclement of the city of Gaza. They are operating in the heart of the city and are on the outskirts of Shifa Hospital. They have eliminated thousands of terrorists including senior commanders and arch-murderers who were among those involved in the terrible massacre on the cursed Saturday of October 7.&#8221;
Netanyahu said that Hamas has lost control of the northern Gaza Strip and that it has no place to hide as Israeli forces hunt them down.
&#8220;From Sinwar to the last terrorist – all of Hamas are dead men,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Our forces are attacking them above ground and underground. We will continue at full force, at full strength, until victory.&#8221;
He added that Israel was also prepared to wipe out Hezbollah in Lebanon if the Iranian-backed terrorist group escalate their attacks on Israel. He noted that Israel is also striking terrorist targets in Judea and Samaria, Lebanon, Syria, the Red Sea, and elsewhere.
&#8220;The return of our hostages is a main goal of the war,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This goal is the top priority for me and my colleagues here. To this end, I convene in-depth discussions on a daily basis in the War Cabinet that I chair. When I meet with representatives of the families – this past Thursday, I had an additional very emotional meeting together with my wife – when I meet with them, I see the nightmare and the pain in their eyes. I tell them: &#8216;We will do everything to bring them back.'&#8221;

&#8220;About the hostages, my directive and that of the Cabinet is clear: There will be no ceasefire without the return of our hostages,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;I would also like to clarify that the holding of the international contacts on the release of the hostages is being carried out by Mossad Director David Barnea, with the assistance of Maj.-Gen. (Ret.) Nitzan Alon, and when we have something to say, something concrete, we will update the families and submit it to the full Government. Until then, prudence would dictate silence.&#8221;
He urged Western leaders not to cave to minority voices in their countries who are demanding that a ceasefire be put into place.
&#8220;No international pressure, or reviling of IDF soldiers and our state will change our faith in the justice of our cause and in our right and our obligation to defend ourselves,&#8221; he said, later adding: &#8220;Hamas needs to be eliminated. If we want to ensure the future of the State of Israel – Hamas needs to be eliminated. This is what Israel must do and this is what Israel will do.&#8221;

Macron claimed that there was &#8220;no justification&#8221; for the precision airstrikes and that there should be &#8220;a humanitarian pause, going to a ceasefire&#8221; to protect civilians.
His remarks come after Israel has made numerous attempts for a month to evacuate as many civilians as possible from northern Gaza, including <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-tens-of-thousands-of-palestinians-escape-northern-gaza-after-israel-opens-evacuation-corridor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">using</a> their military to open up corridors where they protect the civilians as they travel in the tens of thousands to southern Gaza.
&#8220;These babies, these ladies, these old people are bombed and killed,&#8221; Macron claimed in an interview with BBC. &#8220;So there is no reason for that and no legitimacy. So we do urge Israel to stop.&#8221;
Footage released by Israel shows that there have been numerous instances in which their military forces have called off precision strikes because they detected civilians were in the area. There have also been countless examples of Hamas using civilians as human shields, which is a war crime.

Ray Rodrigues, chancellor of the State University System of Florida, sent notices to the University of Florida and the University of South Florida notifying them that they must deactivate their chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine because they allegedly broke Florida laws about terrorism.
“National Students for Justice in Palestine (National SJP) released a ‘toolkit’ which refers to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood as ‘the resistance’ and unequivocally states: ‘Palestinian students in exile are PART of this movement, not in solidarity with this movement,'&#8221; the letter said.
The letter noted that under Florida law, it is a felony to “knowingly provide material support . . . to a designated foreign terrorist organization. . .” Hamas is <a href="https://www.state.gov/foreign-terrorist-organizations/">designated</a> by the Untied States as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
“Here, National SJP has affirmatively identified it is part of the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood—a terrorist led attack,” the letter continued, later adding: “Based on the National SJP’s support of terrorism, in consultation with Governor DeSantis, the student chapters must be deactivated.”

President Joe Biden’s pick for ambassador to Israel has come under intense scrutiny from GOP senators who grilled him Wednesday over his role in crafting the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran. 
Jack Lew, the former Treasury secretary, was one of the architects of the Iran Nuclear Deal agreed upon in 2015 when Biden was vice president. Lew was also <a href="https://www.cotton.senate.gov/news/press-releases/2016/08/03/cotton-demands-answers-from-obama-administration-on-400-million-payment-to-iran">questioned</a> in 2016 after he played a role in the Obama administration’s handout of $400 million in cash to Tehran. His confirmation process <a href="https://punchbowl.news/article/jack-lew-confirmation-process-kicks-off-in-senate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">began</a> on Wednesday, less than two weeks after Iran-backed Hamas terrorists attacked Israel. 
The Iran deal was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/15/world/middleeast/iran-nuclear-deal-israel.html">slammed</a> by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu back in July 2015, who warned that it would “reward Iran, the terrorist regime in Tehran, with hundreds of billions of dollars” over the coming decade. 
“This cash bonanza will fuel Iran’s terrorism worldwide, its aggression in the region and its efforts to destroy Israel, which are ongoing,” Netanyahu said at the time. 
The Iran Nuclear Deal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/iran-nuclear-deal-explained-11610564572">gave</a> Iran access to over $100 billion in oil revenues that were previously frozen by U.S. sanctions. The deal also allowed Iran to produce an unlimited amount of enriched uranium after 2031 and lifted restrictions on energy sales. Then, the Obama administration secretly sent a planeload of $400 million in cash directly to Tehran, which Lew helped organize. 
Former President Donald Trump pulled out of the deal in 2018. Trump had sought to restrict Iran’s missile program and push the Tehran regime to sever its ties to terrorism, but Iran refused to negotiate. Shortly after Biden won back the White House for Democrats, however, the administration began working out a new Iran Nuclear Deal, and last month Biden unfroze $6 billion for Iran in a prisoner exchange deal. 
A 2018 <a href="https://www.hsgac.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/imo/media/doc/2018-06-06%20PSI%20Majority%20Staff%20Report1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee found that Lew&#8217;s Treasury Department, &#8220;at the direction of the U.S. State Department, granted a specific license that authorized a conversion of Iranian assets worth 
billions of U.S. dollars using the U.S. financial system.&#8221; U.S. officials later stated in congressional testimony that &#8220;Iran would not be granted access to the U.S. financial system,&#8221; the report said. 
Biden’s pick for ambassador to Israel now faces a slew of Republican senators who question Lew’s qualification for the job.

“Jack Lew is simply not the right person to be America’s ambassador to our longtime and strong ally, Israel,” Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) said in a statement. “Lew was the architect of the failed and dangerous Iran Nuclear Deal. Iran is the world’s number one state-sponsor of terrorism and the primary funder of Hamas terrorism – we don’t need a soft-on-Iran ambassador to Israel. Biden and Lew both have capitulated to Iran in the past – this fact alone should immediately disqualify him.”
Similarly, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), the senior Republican on the Foreign Relations Committee, told Fox News that he’s concerned with Lew’s previous statements to Congress regarding financial agreements between the Obama administration and Iran. 
“In the case of Mr. Lew, I have real concerns that he has misled and lied to Congress in the past, in terms of some of the financial arrangements that were made under the Obama Administration,” Rubio <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/18/politics/jack-lew-confirmation-hearing/index.html#:~:text=Lew%20played%20a%20key%20role,that%20was%20supported%20by%20Israel." target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. 
Meanwhile, Democrats in the Senate are hoping to expedite Lew&#8217;s confirmation, saying there is an added urgency because of the Israel-Hamas war.
“I don’t expect we’ll get unanimity on him, but [Republicans] should want to expedite the [process] for voting on him,” Foreign Relations Committee Chair Ben Cardin (D-MD) told <a href="https://punchbowl.news/article/jack-lew-confirmation-process-kicks-off-in-senate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Punchbowl News</a>.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said on Tuesday that he might take a step to slow down the confirmation of Lew, CNN reported. Only 51 senators need to vote in favor of Lew for him to get confirmed, but one senator can block a speedy confirmation process.   
Cotton called Lew an “Iran sympathizer who has no business being our ambassador,” adding, isn’t going to skip any of the procedural steps “for a soft-on-Iran ambassadorial nominee to Israel in the middle of a war with Iran’s proxies in Israel.”

The photos show multiple babies who were burned so severely that bone was the only thing remaining from their charred bodies.
Another photo showed a baby that was not burned but had some sort of a head injury as its head was covered in blood. The exact injury could not be seen because the child&#8217;s face was blurred out.

Reports emerged this week that dozens of babies were murdered by the Hamas terrorists and that some of them were decapitated.
The Jerusalem Post <a href="https://archive.ph/iQi0p" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Thursday that it viewed verified photos of the babies who were burned to death or who were decapitated in the Palestinian terrorist attack.

More than 1,300 Israelis were murdered in the attacks and more than 3,000 were injured. At least 27 Americans were murdered and more than a dozen remain missing. Over 100 hostages were taken by Hamas back into Gaza.

Israel Releases Photos Showing Infants Burned To Death As Local Publication Confirms Beheadings: Reports

The U.S. will start arranging evacuation charter flights for American citizens out of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/israel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Israel</a> beginning on Friday as the death toll of Americans from Hamas&#8217; terrorist attacks continues to climb.
During a press briefing on Thursday, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby announced that evacuation operations would start on October 13 &#8220;to provide transportation from Israel to sites in Europe&#8221; for American citizens and their immediate families.
&#8220;The president has asked his team to ensure that we are assisting U.S. citizens who do want to leave Israel and providing them with a safe means of doing that,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-live-white-house-holds-news-briefing-with-nscs-john-kirby-as-israel-hamas-war-enters-6th-day" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
Sources familiar with the matter <a href="https://apnews.com/article/us-israel-palestinians-evacuation-f7c0e2f2a091b14a80b6cae078a90a81" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The Associated Press the U.S. plans to send at least four charter flights daily.
&#8220;They&#8217;re still working through some of the details of that, to assist U.S. citizens and their immediate family members who have, for whatever reason, not been able to provide commercial transit out of the country,&#8221; Kirby added. &#8220;And I would add that we&#8217;re also exploring other options to expand the capacity of doing this, including exploring whether it&#8217;s possible to help Americans leave by land and by sea.&#8221;
On Saturday, Hamas launched a barbaric attack on Israel that has so far killed at least 1,300 people, including 27 Americans, and injured approximately 3,000 others. Another 14 Americans remain unaccounted for, according to reports.
&#8220;Sadly, five more families have now gotten the worst possible news that any family can conceive of getting. And we&#8217;re going to stay in touch with them as appropriate,&#8221; Kirby said. &#8220;Same goes for those family members of those who are unaccounted for — and by unaccounted for, we mean that. We don&#8217;t know where they are. They don&#8217;t know where they are.&#8221;
The White House claimed a &#8220;handful&#8221; of the Americans in the region were taken hostage by Hamas terrorists.

According to the Associated Press, U.S. officials estimate between 160,000 and 170,000 Americans live in Israel, with an additional 500 and 600 in Gaza.
On Wednesday, a State Department spokesperson <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/mollybohannon/2023/10/12/us-offering-evacuation-flights-from-israel-for-american-citizens-amid-hamas-war/?sh=776bd6ca4cc9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Forbes that officials were exploring different options for evacuating citizens, including &#8220;by air, land, and sea to nearby countries&#8221; due to the demand for flights.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken traveled to Israel on Thursday to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and citizens.
Blinken reportedly viewed images depicting victims of the Hamas attack, saying, &#8220;So, images are worth a thousand words. These images may be worth a million.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s hard to find the right words. It&#8217;s beyond what anyone would ever want to imagine, much less, God forbid, experience,&#8221; he said at a press conference in Israel <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/blinken-meets-hamas-attack-survivors-pledges-us-support/story?id=103925374" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by ABC News. &#8220;A baby, an infant, riddled with bullets. Soldiers beheaded. Young people burned alive. I could go on, but it&#8217;s simply depravity in the worst imaginable way.&#8221;
Blinken traveled with Steve Gillen, deputy special representative for hostage affairs, who will reportedly stay in Israel to assist in rescuing the hostages.
The Americans missing or dead from the attack have not been identified by U.S. officials, but the New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/11/us/israel-americans-missing-killed-hostage.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> among them are a mother and daughter from the greater Chicago area, a recent high school graduate from Long Island, and a young adult who was among the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/crews-recover-more-than-260-bodies-from-music-festival-attacked-by-hamas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">260 people killed</a> at the all-night outdoor music festival called Supernova, also described as a peace party, near Kibbutz Re&#8217;im close to the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.

Israeli Prime Minister <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/benjamin-netanyahu" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Benjamin Netanyahu</a> declared during a press conference late on Wednesday night that the Hamas terrorists who carried out attacks in Israel over the weekend were &#8220;worse than ISIS&#8221; and that they would face total elimination.
Netanyahu&#8217;s remarks come after more than 1,200 Israelis were murdered and thousands more were injured in rocket barrages as terrorists simultaneously stormed the border and massacred civilians at a concert and in small communities located along the Israeli-Gaza border.
The 73-year-old informed the country that Israeli officials from different political parties put their differences aside and formed a unity wartime government as they fight for their very survival.
&#8220;We&#8217;ve seen these savages,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We&#8217;ve seen these barbarians we are dealing with, we are fighting against a brutal and vicious enemy, an enemy which is worse than ISIS. We&#8217;ve seen little children, boys and girls, being handcuffed and shot in their head. Men and women who were burned alive. Young women who were raped and massacred. Combatants who were decapitated. In one place, they placed people together and brought spare tires, spare wheels from all around to have burning materials, and then burned these people alive.&#8221;
&#8220;It is so horrific,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;It is so atrocious, the pain is so great. Every family in Israel knows someone who had perished. And you start hearing the news and you start hearing the names and it&#8217;s terrible. I think we all know people that their loved ones were massacred, were burned, were killed. But as great as this atrocity is, so is our heroism great. Men and women, mothers and fathers, combatants and civilians, who showed extreme heroism and bravery. They all fought. And we are all fighting for our home, the unity among our nation in times of sorrow.&#8221;
Netanyahu thanked the U.S. for its support, said that he has been in constant contact with top U.S. officials, and that Israel is receiving the weapons that it needs to crush the enemy.
&#8220;We are fighting in full force in all theaters. Now, we are on the offensive,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Every Hamas operative will die. Hamas is ISIS. We will crush them and get rid of them just as the world crushed and got rid of ISIS. I would like to strengthen our combatants, all the people in our security forces and relief and rescue forces. MK Matan Kahana from the National Unity Party stated, “A unified emergency government is what is needed now to lead to victory in the war. With God&#8217;s help, we will do it and we will succeed,” as Israel National News <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/378313" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar added, “Thank God there is a unity government for the State of Israel. And now, we are all together for victory in the war and the complete destruction of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza. This is what the people of Israel expected from us because only together will we win, with God&#8217;s help.”
On Saturday night, after meeting with opposition leaders Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid Party and Gantz, Netanyahu asked that they enter a “broad emergency government, in the same format according to which the late opposition leader Menachem Begin joined the [Levi] Eshkol government on the eve of the Six-Day War.”
Another opposition leader, Avigdor Liberman of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party, wrote Netanyahu saying he would join an emergency government. He stated, “There must be a public commitment by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense and the IDF chief of staff to the people of Israel.&#8221;
&#8220;All three of them should announce in their own voice that the elimination of Hamas, the leaders of Hamas and the end of the ‘arrangements’ era are acceptable to them and these are the goals of the current conflict,&#8221; he added.
On Tuesday evening, the heads of regional authorities in southern Israel, the area primarily targeted in the Hamas attack, the country’s south, wrote Netanyahu, “We, the heads of the authorities in the Negev, who are dealing with rocket fire on our settlement, infiltration by terrorists, many murdered and killed, missing, kidnapped and injured, call on you at this difficult time for the people and the State of Israel to immediately establish a national emergency government,” Jewish News Syndicate <a href="https://www.jns.org/netanyahu-gantz-reach-deal-to-form-emergency-unity-govt/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
