Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Salma Hayek, Reese Witherspoon, and more were quick to voice their support for the #MeToo Hollywood non-profit organization <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/weinstein-accuser-blasts-hollywood-me-too-group-for-focusing-on-left-wing-political-interests-instead-of-victims" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Time&#8217;s Up</a> five years ago, but have been absolutely silent now that it&#8217;s collapsed.
Time&#8217;s Up was originally created to fight sexual harassment in the entertainment industry following numerous allegations against Harvey Weinstein. However, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/times-up-metoo-1ac800e48a96357d7fb29c18848c50d2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news recently surfaced that the time is up for Time&#8217;s Up</a>, after it announced it was halting operations and the group&#8217;s remaining $1.7 million in funds were being reallocated to a legal defense fund.
The collapse for the group started two years ago when the head of Time&#8217;s Up Tina Tchen and attorney Roberta Kaplan were found to have helped then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo handle sexual harassment allegations brought by accuser Lindsey Boylan and 10 others, The <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/21/us/times-up-metoo-sexual-harassment.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Times</a> reported. The group was also found to remain silent when it came to helping Joe Biden&#8217;s former aide, Tara Reade, in her sexual assault accusations against Biden, the outlet noted. In 2021, the two resigned amid revelations the group was found to be partisan.
But five years ago, things looked very different for the group started by founders Witherspoon and Winfrey, who helped the charity gain huge media attention, the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/21/us/times-up-metoo-sexual-harassment.html">Times</a> noted. Stars like Michelle Williams, Meryl Streep, and Emma Watson proudly showed off their &#8220;Time’s Up&#8221; pins at the <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2018/01/07/golden-globes-why-stars-wearing-times-up-pins/1007799001/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2018 Golden Globes</a> on their black gowns in support of the group, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/times-up-metoo-1ac800e48a96357d7fb29c18848c50d2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a> noted.
On stage at the Globes, Winfrey warned abusers that &#8220;Their time is up!&#8221; and was greeted by a standing ovation. A year later, celebrities donned black and white &#8220;Time&#8217;s Up&#8221; <a href="https://www.glamour.com/gallery/golden-globes-2019-times-up-ribbons-red-carpet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ribbons</a> at the 2019 Golden Globes.
However, in 2020 Winfrey walked away from her Apple TV+ documentary that would have highlighted the &#8220;Time&#8217;s Up&#8221; group citing creative differences, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/oprah-winfrey-quits-apple-times-up-documentary-2020-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Business Insider</a> noted. 
In August 2021, co-founder Shonda Rhimes, released a statement showing her support for the group&#8217;s agenda amid allegations about Tchen and Kaplan, the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/21/us/times-up-metoo-sexual-harassment.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NYT</a> noted.
&#8220;The fact that Time&#8217;s Up has become viewed as a receptacle for and the focus of men trying to cover up their obscene behaviors is exhausting to me,&#8221; producer Rhimes shared at the time. &#8220;Saving men, especially predatory men, is not on Time&#8217;s Up agenda.&#8221;
Not long after Tchen and Kaplan&#8217;s resignation, board members Rhimes and Eva Longoria left Time&#8217;s Up, <a href="https://www.vogue.com/article/what-does-the-end-of-times-up-mean-for-the-future-of-the-metoo-movement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vogue</a> noted. 
&#8220;Time’s Up is ready for new leadership, and we want to move forcefully toward its new iteration,&#8221; a statement from the exiting board members read, <a href="https://deadline.com/2021/09/shonda-rhimes-eva-longoria-jurnee-smollett-exit-times-up-board-1234827540/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a> noted.
In September 2021, <a href="https://variety.com/2021/film/news/eva-longoria-times-up-1235058259/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Longoria defended the group,</a> but shared that there was more work that needed to be done.
&#8220;It&#8217;s okay to make mistakes in the efforts to topple the patriarchy. Mistakes will be made,&#8221; the actress shared. &#8220;It doesn&#8217;t mean the efforts should stop. We have to continue. We&#8217;ve been under thousands of years of a patriarchal society. It&#8217;s not going to topple in the three years that Time&#8217;s Up has existed. We have so much more work to be done.&#8221;
At that same time, the organization&#8217;s advisory <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/hollywood/news-times-up-dissolves-advisory-board-that-had-a-listers-like-natalie-portman-jessica-chastain--others-411984" target="_blank" rel="noopener">board</a> quietly dissolved which included a star-studded list of Hollywood&#8217;s leading ladies; Natalie Portman, Jessica Chastain, Laura Dern, Julianne Moore, Janelle Monae, Brie Larson, Tessa Thompson, Padma Lakshmi, America Ferrera, Kerry Washington, Alyssa Milano, and Amy Schumer. 
And all these actresses mentioned connected to the group in some form or another have been absolutely silent since news broke in January about Time&#8217;s Up shutting down operations.
Time&#8217;s Up board member Ashley Judd has remained silent as well about the organization&#8217;s implosion, only sharing in November 2021 that despite the revelations about Tchen and Kaplan, the world needed &#8220;Time&#8217;s Up,&#8221; <a href="https://variety.com/2021/film/columns/times-up-ashley-judd-women-in-hollywood-1235118691/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a> noted.
&#8220;We still need Time&#8217;s Up, and that&#8217;s why we&#8217;re going down to the studs, taking a look at the mistakes we made, learning from our errors and being completely transparent and accountable in the same way that we demand other organizations be transparent and accountable,&#8221; Judd said. &#8220;We&#8217;re going to get it right.&#8221;
Judd also promised that Time&#8217;s Up would rise again in 2022.
In January, Judd — one of the last remaining board members — stepped down as Time&#8217;s Up Now and the Time&#8217;s Up Foundation, the two groups that formed what is commonly known as Time&#8217;s Up, shut down, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/times-up-metoo-1ac800e48a96357d7fb29c18848c50d2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AP</a> noted.
During a recent episode of &#8220;The Megyn Kelly Show&#8221; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1Z2G-vPrSQ&amp;source_ve_path=MjM4NTE&amp;feature=emb_title" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcast</a>, the host asked where are all the stars who spoke out for Time&#8217;s Up now that it&#8217;s collapsed? Because, she said, it went &#8220;partisan&#8221; in the people it supported.

She also said that she and her sister are &#8220;closer than we’ve been in a long time.&#8221;
&#8220;Well, when I became an orphan, I took a real strong look around me and said, &#8216;OK. Forgiveness. Forgiveness is key,'&#8221; Wynonna shared.  &#8220;Ashley and I are closer than we&#8217;ve been in a long time. So, get off our backs there, press. We love each other. And we show up for each other.&#8221;

Country singer Wynonna Judd admitted in a recent interview that she is still &#8220;incredibly angry&#8221; that her mother and singing partner <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/topic/naomi-judd/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naomi Judd</a> recently ended her own life.
Judd, 58, made an <a href="https://pagesix.com/2022/09/25/wynonna-judd-angry-over-naomi-judds-death-by-suicide/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appearance</a> on &#8220;CBS Sunday Morning&#8221; with correspondent Lee Cowan to talk about her life following the loss of her mother — and about going back on tour alone.
&#8220;I got the call, and I went over, and I saw her and I said goodbye to her in the hospital,&#8221; Judd explained, adding that she was still &#8220;incredibly angry&#8221; and wasn&#8217;t certain the feeling would ever really go away.
&#8220;I closed her eyes, and I kissed her forehead, and that was that. And next thing I know, I’m sitting here on the side porch, and I’m just trying to figure out what’s next,&#8221; she said, later noting that she still felt her mother&#8217;s spirit with her. &#8220;I feel her nudging me. And sometimes, I laugh. And sometimes, I say, ‘I really miss you. Why aren’t you here so we can argue?'&#8221;
Judd went on to say that she had always tried to honor her mother — and she believed <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/family-pain-for-years-to-come-naomi-judds-graphic-death-records-sealed-from-public-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naomi</a> had known that.

&#8220;Is getting back on tour, is that therapy in some ways?&#8221; he asked.
&#8220;Look at my face and can you tell what the answer is?&#8221; Judd asked. &#8220;I have no idea. I swear to God, I don&#8217;t know if this time it&#8217;s therapy. I think it&#8217;s important to do it, if that makes sense. I feel like I have my marching orders and I know what they are and I&#8217;m going to show up. I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s going to be therapy, I&#8217;ll tell you in November. I will literally tell you in November, &#8216;That was the most amazing experience of my life,&#8217; or &#8216;That was a s***show.'&#8221;
&#8220;As I walk out on stage that first night, I’ll probably say something like, ‘It’s not supposed to be like this,’ because it’s not, right? It’s supposed to be the two of us. And I’m gonna be angry because she’s not there,&#8221; she added.
Judd also spoke at length about her mother&#8217;s battle with mental illness — and the questions she still asks herself about whether or not she should have seen a sign that her mother was struggling more than usual.

In The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/31/opinion/ashley-judd-naomi-suicide.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> titled, “Ashley Judd: The Right to Keep Private Pain Private,” the actress talked about how April 30, 2022, “was the most shattering day of my life” after discovering her mother took her own life, losing her ongoing battle with mental health.
“The trauma of discovering and then holding her laboring body haunts my nights,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ashley-judd-reveals-how-her-mother-naomi-died" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Judd</a> wrote. “As my family and I continue to mourn our loss, the rampant and cruel misinformation that has spread about her death, and about our relationships with her, stalks my days. The horror of it will only worsen if the details surrounding her death are disclosed by the Tennessee law that generally allows police reports, including family interviews, from closed investigations to be made public.”

The “Divergent” star said on the day she discovered <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/family-pain-for-years-to-come-naomi-judds-graphic-death-records-sealed-from-public-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naomi</a> had committed suicide, she gave multiple interviews to the police, providing “answers to the many probing questions” that she said she would have never answered on another day.
“&#8230;Questions about which I never thought to ask my own questions, including: Is your body camera on?” Judd shared. “Am I being audio recorded again? Where and how will what I am sharing be stored, used and made available to the public?”
“I began a series of interviews that felt mandatory and imposed on me that drew me away from the precious end of my mother&#8217;s life,” she added, explaining how family members “each shared everything we could think of about Mom, her mental illness and its agonizing history.”
The “Kiss the Girls” star said she wanted to make it clear the police only did what they had been taught to do. But she added that law enforcement officers need to be better trained in responding to and investigating cases involving trauma. Judd said she felt that the men who responded to the call the day of Naomi&#8217;s death made her feel that she was a “possible suspect in my mother&#8217;s suicide.”
“At the beginning of August, my family and I filed a petition with the courts to prevent the public disclosure of the investigative file, including interviews the police conducted with us at a time when we were at our most vulnerable and least able to grasp that what we shared so freely that day could enter the public domain,” Ashley wrote. “This profoundly intimate personal and medical information does not belong in the press, on the internet or anywhere except in our memories.”
“We have asked the court to not release these documents not because we have secrets,” she added. “&#8230;We ask because privacy in death is a death with more dignity. And for those left behind, privacy avoids heaping further harm upon a family that is already permanently and painfully altered.”
She concluded her letter by sharing that she, her sister, Wynonna Judd, and the rest of their family “hold fast to our belief that what we said and did in the immediate aftermath of Naomi’s death should remain in the private domain — just as it should for all families facing such devastation.”
A temporary injunction was reportedly granted to keep the late country legend&#8217;s “graphic” death records sealed from the public in August, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/family-pain-for-years-to-come-naomi-judds-graphic-death-records-sealed-from-public-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported. An evidentiary hearing has been set for September.

Ashley Judd Drops Op-Ed Asking ‘To Keep Private Pain Private’ After Naomi Judd’s Death

The Judd family on Friday filed a court petition attempting to prevent documents related to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/country-music">country music</a> legend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/naomi-judd">Naomi Judd</a>&#8216;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ashley-judd-reveals-how-her-mother-naomi-died">death</a> from being made public. Judd died in April, reportedly by suicide, at age 76.
The petition revealed new details into the late star&#8217;s death, including how her daughter, actress Ashely Judd, found her mother alive after the Grammy-winning singer shot herself. Ashley Judd was with her mother for some 30 minutes before help arrived, <a href="https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2022/08/12/judd-family-sues-prevent-release-records-naomi-judds-suicide-death/10312849002/">according</a> to a report from The Tennessean.
“She obviously was suffering, and, as such, her days up until that moment were hurtful to her,” Ashley Judd <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ashley-judd-reveals-how-her-mother-naomi-died">said</a> during an appearance on “Good Morning America&#8221; following her mother&#8217;s death.
The petition was filed by Judd&#8217;s daughters, Ashley and Wynonna Judd, and husband Larry Strickland, whom Naomi Judd wed in 1989.
The petition says the release of video and audio interviews related to the death investigation would cause &#8220;significant trauma and irreparable harm.&#8221; The family is also seeking to keep personal medical information and police reports private, The Tennessean noted.
&#8220;I think Naomi Judd should be remembered for the way she lived and not in the matter in which she died,&#8221; the family said in their statements.
Namoi Judd&#8217;s death on April 30, notably one day before she was to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, shocked the music industry, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ashley-judd-reveals-how-her-mother-naomi-died">The Daily Wire</a> reported at the time.
“Mother used a firearm,” Ashley Judd revealed following the death. “That’s the piece of information that we are very uncomfortable sharing, but understand that we’re in a position that if we don’t say it, someone else is going to.”

Naomi Judd Left Daughters Out Of $25 Million Will: Report

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ashley-judd">Ashley Judd</a> is reflecting on her mother Naomi’s suicide and how she’s dealing with the trauma and grief.
The 54-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">actress</a> shared her thoughts with David Kessler, the host of the “Healing with David Kessler” <a href="https://grief.com/podcast/ashley-judd-on-mental-illness-her-mothers-death-and-the-importance-of-grief-support/">podcast</a>. She explained how she can sympathize with Naomi’s anguish and doesn&#8217;t blame her for past parenting mistakes.
“I look back on my childhood and I realize I grew up with a mom who had an undiagnosed and untreated mental illness,” Ashley said. “And there are different behavioral expressions, interactions, flights of fancy, choices that she made that I understand were an expression of the disease.”
The “Double Jeopardy&#8221; star said her mom “was in pain” and that she can “today understand that she was absolutely doing the best she could.”
“If she could have done it differently, she would have,” Judd continued, saying she knows she “didn’t cause” Naomi’s illness. 
“My most ardent wish for my mother is that when she transitioned, she was hopefully able to let go of any guilt or shame that she carried for any shortcomings she may have had in her parenting of my sister and me,” Ashley explained. “Because certainly on my end, all was forgiven long ago, all was forgiven long ago.”
Naomi <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ashley-judd-reveals-how-her-mother-naomi-died">died</a> from a self-inflicted gunshot on April 30. She had been struggling with mental health issues for years prior. 
Ashley and her sister, musician Wynonna Judd, originally shared that their mom had died from “the disease of mental illness.”
“We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory,” the sisters wrote in a joint statement.
Wynonna and her mother were scheduled to be inducted into Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame the day after Naomi’s death. Instead, Ashley and Wynonna attended the event and cried while thanking fans for their ongoing support. 
“My mama loved you so much,” Ashley told the audience, “And I’m sorry that she couldn’t hang on until today.&#8221;
She continued, “Your esteem for her and your regard for her really penetrated her heart, and it was your affection for her that did keep her going in the last years.”

Grammy-winning singer Naomi Judd, 76, committed suicide by shooting herself after battling mental health problems for years, her daughter Ashley revealed Thursday.
Judd&#8217;s death on April 30, one day before she was to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, stunned the music world. Although her famous daughters, singer Naomi Judd and Ashley, an actress, alluded to their mother&#8217;s mental health problems in an early statement, the new details only emerged this week on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;Good Morning America.&#8221;
“Mother used a firearm,&#8221; Ashley Judd said on the show. &#8220;That’s the piece of information that we are very uncomfortable sharing, but understand that we’re in a position that if we don’t say it, someone else is going to.”
The music matriarch died in the upstairs bedroom of her Nashville, Tennessee, area farmhouse. Ashley Judd, who was visiting, made the gruesome discovery. She said her family had authorized her to speak candidly about her mother’s death to raise awareness regarding mental health and its treatments.
“She obviously was suffering, and, as such, her days up until that moment were hurtful to her,” she acknowledged.
“It was a mixed day,” Ashley Judd <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10811041/Naomi-Judd-shot-dead-upstairs-room-beloved-1-000-acre-Nashville-farmhouse.html">recalled</a>. “I was at the house visiting, as I am every day, and mom said to me &#8216;will you stay with me?&#8217; and I said: &#8216;Of course I will.&#8217;”
Judd said she had left the house to greet a family friend, then returned to find her mother&#8217;s body.
“I went upstairs to let her know that the friend was there and I discovered her,” Judd stated. “I have both grief and trauma from discovering her.”
Ashley Judd said the family remembers her mother for her talent and positive traits, but knew she suffered from mental illness.
“Mom was a brilliant conversationalist,” Judd said. “She was a star, an underrated songwriter, and she was someone who suffered from mental illness, who had trouble getting off the sofa. &#8230; But her brain hurt. It physically hurt.”
The Judds were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday, as planned, in a somber <a href="https://www.dispatch.com/story/entertainment/music/2022/05/02/country-music-hall-of-fame-the-judds-ray-charles-inducted/9613011002/">Medallion Ceremony</a> at which both daughters spoke. The Judd family had insisted that the ceremony go forward.
“I didn&#8217;t prepare anything tonight because I knew Mom would probably talk the most,&#8221; Wynona Judd told the audience. &#8220;I&#8217;m gonna make this fast, because my heart&#8217;s broken, and I feel so blessed. It&#8217;s a very strange dynamic, to be this broken and this blessed. Though my heart&#8217;s broken, I will continue to sing, because that&#8217;s what we do.”
Hall of Fame member Ricky Skaggs, who inducted the fellow Kentucky-born superstars, urged the audience to celebrate The Judds amid the tragic news.
&#8220;We&#8217;re not gonna be sad today,&#8221; Skaggs said, before quoting the New Testament&#8217;s book of Matthew 5:4.
&#8220;Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted,&#8221; he said.
On Thursday, Ashley Judd lamented that her mother couldn&#8217;t be present for the honor.
“Our mother couldn&#8217;t hang on until she was inducted into the Hall of Fame by her peers,” Judd said. “That is the level of catastrophe of what was going on inside of her, because the barrier between the regard in which they held her couldn&#8217;t penetrate into her heart and the lie the disease told her was so convincing.”
In 2016, Naomi Judd took Oprah Winfrey on a tour of her farm, where she had lived for roughly 30 years.  She pointed out how close her daughters lived to her, saying, “Ashley lives right up over that hill, right up the road. &#8230; And Miss Wynonna lives right over that hill.”
Calling her farm her “haven” and “sanctuary,” she added that she called it “Peaceful Valley the moment I laid eyes on it.”

The actress revealed more specific details on the Grammy Award winner’s death during an interview with Diane Sawyer on “Good Morning America” today, per <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/05/naomi-judd-cause-of-death-ashley-judd-good-morning-america-1235022069/">Deadline</a>. Earlier this month, People Magazine, citing sources, reported that Judd died by suicide. 
&#8220;It was a mixed day,&#8221; Judd said. &#8220;I visit with my mom and pop every day when I’m home in Tennessee, so I was at the house visiting as I am every day. Mom said to me, ‘Will you stay with me?’ and I said, ‘Of course I will.’… I went upstairs to let her know that her good friend was there and I discovered her. I have both grief and trauma from discovering her.&#8221;

Suicide is actually one of the leading causes of preventable death among these mental illnesses.&#8221;
&#8220;To understand this issue better, we have to bring the study of suicide into mainstream neuroscience and treat the condition like every other brain disorder,&#8221; she added. &#8220;People who commit suicide are experiencing problems with mood, impulse control and aggression, all of which involve discrete circuits in the brain that regulate these aspects of human experience, but we still don&#8217;t understand how these circuits go haywire in the brains of suicide victims.&#8221;

An open letter signed by more than 200 high-profile women called on social media platforms Facebook, Google, TikTok, and Twitter to take action when it comes to bullying and abuse.
These high-profile people included actress and activist Ashley Judd, former tennis star Billie Jean King, and British actress Emma Watson.
Addressed to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, the <a href="https://webfoundation.org/docs/2021/07/Generation-Equality-Open-Letter-to-tech-CEOs.pdf">letter</a> begins, “We write to you to ask that you urgently prioritize the safety of women on your platforms.”
Speaking of the Generation Equality Forum in Paris, during which “world leaders come together to agree on a plan to advance women’s rights,” the letter described the event as a “historic opportunity” for the “CEOs of some of the world’s most powerful tech platforms, to tackle one of the biggest barriers to gender equality: the pandemic of online abuse against women and girls.”
“The commitments you make today should be seen as a promise to women and girls around the world that you will decisively deal with the abuse that they are subject to on your platforms,” the letter continued.
According to the authors, “38% of women globally have directly experienced online abuse,” with this figure rising to “45% for Gen Zs and Millennials,” while the “abuse is often far worse” for “women of color, for black women in particular, for women from the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups.”
“The internet is the town square of the 21st century. It is where debate takes place, communities are built, products are sold and reputations are made. But the scale of online abuse means that, for too many women, these digital town squares are unsafe. This is a threat to progress on gender equality,” the letter continued. “A huge volume of this abuse takes place on social media platforms — and its reach is global. Your decisions shape the way billions of people experience life online. With your incredible financial resources and engineering might, you have the unique capability and responsibility to ensure your platforms prevent, rather than fuel, this abuse.”
The authors did admit that “no quick-fix will cure the problem,” instead arguing that “there are many avenues to make significant progress.” They stated that it is “vital to put into action two priorities women have said are critical for their safety — more control of their experiences on your platforms, and better reporting systems:

<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Give people greater control to manage their safety. Rather than a one-size-fits-all experience, women should have more control over who can interact with them on tech platforms, as well as more choice over what, when and how they see content online. These tools should be easy to find and simple to use. </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Improve your systems for reporting abuse. Current tools need to be improved so women can easily report abuse and track the progress of these reports. For example, dashboards that show users the status of all their reports in one place, features to guide them through the reporting process, and tools that offer women access to additional support when it’s needed, could make a huge difference.</li>
</ul>
“Commitments you make today to address these two areas are a positive and necessary step. How you take these forward also matters. As you work towards these goals, we’ll be watching: we will recognize when you make progress and hold you to account when you don’t,” the letter concluded, adding that Big Tech’s progress “against these commitments will be tracked annually.”
“Imagine what you can achieve if you follow through on commitments to build safer platforms: an online world where a journalist can engage with feedback on her reporting, not assassinations of her character. Where a politician may read complaints about her policies, but not threats of rape and murder. Where a young woman can share what she wants to on her terms, knowing there are systems to keep her safe and hold harassers accountable,” the letter noted. “If you build this better internet for women, you will build a better internet for everyone. You have the way. Now show the world that you also have the will.”

Reacting to the comments, Judd posted a lengthy Facebook post on Thursday, blasting &#8220;misogynistic savages of both sexes&#8221; for making fun of her and explaining her medical complications, which are apparently alleviated by frequent botox injections.
Judd said she learned about the Twitter controversy over her face &#8220;from caring friends.&#8221;
&#8220;The misogynistic savages of both sexes have come out, as have plenty of folks who empathize and see it for what it is (woman bashing),&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;I find it a gendered way to distract from my political speech: the hate happened in response to a video in support of the Presidential candidate of my choice.&#8221;
Judd said she&#8217;s suffered from migraines for over a year.
&#8220;Have I had botox? It is a standard treatment for the ailment that I experience,&#8221; the feminist said. &#8220;My union insurance pays for thirty-one injections every twelve weeks. (Some friends suggested that I not post this medical fact, because it can be excerpted and used against me, but I think it&#8217;s honest and real and is a public health message. Shame on anyone who distorts my words.)&#8221; 
The actress also explained that she&#8217;s been unable to workout due to the migraines, which has contributed to &#8220;some un-fun weight gain.&#8221;
&#8220;What I know is that misogynists on Twitter have been slaughtering me compared to my pre-weight gain idealized self,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;My conventionally thin, athletic, &#8216;pretty&#8217; AcroYoga body, and more slender face, is merely the flip side of the same patriarchal coin.&#8221;
&#8220;Those of you who are talking about my female appearance, making assessments about my worth and desirability are basing your opinions on wholly gendered norms,&#8221; complained Judd. &#8220;The good news for my empowered self is I don&#8217;t take compliments any more seriously than I do slurs.&#8221;
The feminist noted that &#8220;as a cis white woman,&#8221; the &#8220;hate&#8221; she&#8217;s receiving &#8220;is pretty generic compared to women of color, to my friends in the LGBTQIA+ communities, and those of diverse lived experiences.&#8221;
&#8220;[W]hen women speak up, we still get beaten up,&#8221; Judd contended. &#8220;Speak up anyway. The slings and arrows will come, but your voice and the body from which it comes is beautiful, courageous, powerful, and necessary.&#8221;
&#8220;Conversations about our female bodies will continue to roar — both about us and outside of us. What I know for sure is that my peace is on the inside, in spite of the patriarchy and all who participate in it, male and female,&#8221; the actress closed the post.
&#8220;And to those for whom this is obvious and redundant, thank you. I feel you.&#8221;
