Former Beatles band member Paul McCartney is teaming up with the animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in an effort to stop a national coffee chain from charging customers more for plant-based milk.
The recording artist wrote an <a href="https://www.peta.org/media/news-releases/for-peets-sake-sir-paul-to-peets-drop-non-dairy-milk-upcharge-please/">open letter</a> to Eric Lauterbach, president and CEO of Peet’s Coffee, asking that the company remove an 80 cent surcharge for non-dairy milk.
“It recently came to my attention that Peet’s has an extra charge for plant-based milks as opposed to cow’s milk. I must say this surprised me as I understand that your company is committed to reducing methane emissions and water waste, yet cow’s milk significantly contributes to them,” McCartney wrote, per the San Francisco Chronicle. “I would like to politely request that you consider dropping the upcharge on plant milks, just as Starbucks and Dunkin’ have recently done.”
The coffee chain is headquartered in Emeryville, California, a Bay Area city between Oakland and Berkeley, where PETA is organizing a demonstration later this month. 
“Peet’s punitive price hike on vegan milks leaves a bad taste in the mouth of anyone who cares about animals or the environment,” PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said in a statement. “PETA is calling on the public to join the push for Peet’s to brew up compassion and stop charging extra for kind and climate-friendly choices.”
McCartney is a well-known environmental activist with a penchant for left-wing causes. According to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/official.peta/posts/paul-and-linda-mccartney-decided-to-go-veg-in-1975-as-they-watched-lambs-playing/1010634767389492/">PETA</a>, Paul and his late wife, Linda McCartney, went vegetarian in 1975 after watching lambs play outside their window while they were eating lamb chops. 
In the past, the singer has said, “It’s actually a huge fallacy,” that the best protein sources are meat. “You can get your protein from a million other non-animal places, and it’s much better for you,” McCartney said during an <a href="https://www.peta.org/features/paul-mccartney-interview/">interview</a> with PETA.

The leftist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/animals">animal</a> rights organization <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/peta">PETA</a> has suggested for Groundhog Day this year, the nation should ditch Punxsutawney Phil and rely on a vegan “weather reveal cake” to predict the weather instead.
The organization, which stands for &#8220;People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,”  said it <a href="https://www.peta.org/media/news-releases/life-for-punxsutawney-phil-is-no-piece-of-cake-peta-offers-weather-reveal-dessert-to-replace-exploited-groundhog/#:~:text=Punxsutawney%2C%20Pa.&amp;text=PETA%20will%20deliver%20a%20delicious,outfit%20kudos%20from%20wildlife%20fans.">sent</a> a letter to Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s President Tom Dunkel and made him the “irresistible offer” of delivering what would resemble a gender reveal cake if his group was willing to “let Punxsutawney Phil and his family retire to a reputable sanctuary.”
“In a fun play on viral gender reveal videos, PETA’s tasty treat would be cut to expose one of two colors: blue, signifying six more weeks of winter, or pink, indicating an early spring,” the statement said. 
The letter to Dunkel used numerous baking puns, saying the vegan cake &#8220;would allow you to still make tourism dough while showing Phil a slice of decency.&#8221;
“You batter believe that for Phil, Groundhog Day is no piece of cake,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk wrote. “Groundhogs are shy prey animals who, when allowed, actively avoid humans. Yet, year after year, Phil is transported to Gobler’s Knob, whisked on stage, and subjected to a noisy announcer, screaming crowds, and flashing lights against all his natural instincts.”
She continued, “If approached in his natural habitat, he would run away in fear, not volunteer to live year-round in captivity, unable to do anything that’s natural and important to him like hibernate or burrow—just to be a town’s once-a-year fake meteorologist.&#8221;
This isn’t the first time PETA tried to stop the Groundhog Day tradition by pitching an alternative. In 2024, it suggested flipping a giant coin rather than seeing if Phil saw his shadow. Two years earlier, the group had suggested using an animatronic replica of the groundhog. 
The tradition of using a groundhog to predict whether the nation would experience an early spring or have six more weeks of winter <a href="https://www.weather.gov/phi/GroundHogHistory">originated</a> with German settlers who brought the tradition of Candlemas to America in the 1700s. 
Punxsutawney Phil is the official weather-predicting groundhog who emerges each year on February 2 to make his prediction in Punxsutawney, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/pennsylvania">Pennsylvania,</a> to around 20,000 fans who gather for the occasion.

An alleged vegan “extremist” suspected of being responsible for two bombings in the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/san-francisco" target="_blank" rel="noopener">San Francisco</a> area more than two decades ago was arrested in the United Kingdom, the FBI announced Tuesday. 
Daniel Andreas San Diego, 46, was arrested in Wales after 20 years on the run after he was <a href="https://apnews.com/article/us-terrorism-fugitive-caught-wales-70a2543ea03ed245394226795bffd563" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charged</a> with carrying out bombings in Emeryville and Pleasanton. San Diego was first indicted in July of 2004 and has been on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist List since 2009. 
“Daniel San Diego’s arrest after more than 20 years as a fugitive for two bombings in the San Francisco area shows that no matter how long it takes, the FBI will find you and hold you accountable,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said. “There’s a right way and a wrong way to express your views in our country, and turning to violence and destruction of property is not the right way.”

The <a href="https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/news/testimony/animal-rights-extremism-and-ecoterrorism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bombing</a> in Emeryville took place at the Chiron biotechnology corporation on August 28, 2003, and involved two bombs that went off within an hour of each other, according to the FBI. The attack in Pleasanton was at the Shaklee nutritional products corporation on September 26, 2003, and involved a bomb packed with nails.  
While no one was injured or killed, authorities <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/26/us/fbi-most-wanted-extremist-caught-wales.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that San Diego intended to target first responders with the second bomb at Chiron. 
According to his FBI wanted <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/wanted_terrorists/daniel-andreas-san-diego" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poster</a>, San Diego was connected to animal rights extremist groups. The radical organization, “Revolutionary Cells of the Animal Liberation Brigade,” took credit for the bombings and warned that more attacks were coming.

“It is time for this war to truly have two sides. No more will all the killing be done by the oppressors, now the oppressed will strike back,” the group said after the second bombing, according to the FBI. 
San Diego, who was born in Berkeley, has a tattoo that reads &#8220;It only takes a spark&#8221; and another tattoo of “burning and collapsing buildings,” the FBI said. 
“He is known to follow a vegan diet, eating no meat or food containing animal products. In the past, he has worked as a computer network specialist and with the operating system LINUX. San Diego wears eyeglasses, is skilled at sailing, and has traveled internationally. He is known to possess a handgun,” the wanted poster read. 
A $250,000 reward was offered for any information that led to San Diego’s arrest.

New York State officials poked a virtual hornet&#8217;s nest when they confiscated and euthanized internet sensation <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/internet-sensation-peanut-the-squirrel-euthanized-by-new-york-state-government">Peanut the squirrel</a> and a raccoon named Fred that was also rescued and kept as a pet.
Mark and Daniela Longo, Peanut&#8217;s owners, told TMZ that state officials had raided their home as if they were &#8220;drug dealers&#8221; and had taken both the squirrel and the raccoon — which they had rescued and kept in their home — and euthanized them.
&#8220;It not only tears my family apart, but Peanut was the cornerstone of our non-profit animal rescue,” Longo said. “And ten to twelve DEC officers raided my house as if I was a drug dealer. I sat outside my house for five hours. I had to get a police escort to my bathroom. I wasn’t even allowed to feed my rescue horses breakfast or lunch. I sat there like a criminal after they interrogated my wife to check her immigration status.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Bob Barker</a>’s longtime girlfriend, Nancy Burnet, is reflecting on their time together following the TV show host’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bob-barker-beloved-host-of-the-price-is-right-dead-at-99">death</a> on Saturday at the age of 99.
Barker is best known for hosting “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">The Price Is Right</a>” for 35 years, but he’d been with Burnet even longer than that. The couple had been involved for four decades when Barker died. Burnet explained how they never married despite Barker proposing several times.
Barker’s first wife, Dorothy Jo Gideon, died in 1981. 
&#8220;Neither of us had any desire ever to be married again, and he believed it when we first started seeing each other,&#8221; Burnet said, per <a href="https://people.com/bob-barker-companion-nancy-burnet-many-proposals-trust-they-shared-exclusive-7866872">People</a>. &#8220;But as the years went by, he proposed to me many times. I just said, &#8216;I just don&#8217;t want to be married.&#8217; Our humor was very dry. We kidded in a way. And he said, &#8216;Not even to me?&#8217; And I said, &#8216;Especially not to you.'&#8221;
Part of her hesitation was their age difference, Burnet said. &#8220;There was a difference, a 19-and-a-half, 20-year difference in our ages, so I said, &#8216;What would people think here?'&#8221; she told the outlet. &#8220;And he said, &#8216;Oh, I don’t care what they think.&#8217; He was interested in doing it anyway. He didn’t care.&#8221;

Burnet said Barker even involved his attorney and drew up a prenup without her knowledge. &#8220;He had his attorney send it to me,&#8221; she explained. &#8220;I said, &#8216;I just don&#8217;t want to do this. I&#8217;m not going to accept this.&#8217; And he said, &#8216;Well, if you don&#8217;t like the terms of the prenup, take it to your own attorney. You can change it.&#8217; I never did do it.&#8221;
Burnet also reflected on how passionate Barker was about animal rights. She said they met on an animal adoption day in 1983.
“I knew almost nothing about him really,” Burnet said. “I knew he did &#8216;The Price Is Right.&#8217; I knew that he was interested in animals, and he had the format to get the word out.”

Activist group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (<a href="https://dailywire.com/news/like-driving-a-gas-guzzler-peta-is-mad-at-elon-musk-for-liking-chocolate-milk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PETA</a>) has released a statement condemning the producers of Amazon Prime Video series &#8220;<a id="auto-tag_the-lord-of-the-rings-the-rings-of-power" href="https://variety.com/t/the-lord-of-the-rings-the-rings-of-power/" data-tag="the-lord-of-the-rings-the-rings-of-power">The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power</a>&#8221; after a horse died on set.
The horse reportedly died on March 21st while being exercised on the U.K. set prior to rehearsals and filming — and a necropsy confirmed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
&#8220;We are deeply saddened to confirm that a production horse died on 21st March,&#8221; an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement released on Sunday morning. &#8220;The incident took place in the morning whilst the horse was being exercised prior to rehearsals. The trainer was not in costume and filming had yet to commence. Both a veterinarian and a representative of the American Humane Association were present at the time. The independent necropsy has confirmed that the horse died of cardiac failure.&#8221;
According to a <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/rings-of-power-horse-death-lord-of-the-rings-peta-1235564884/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from entertainment site Variety, there were some 30 horses being used for the second season of &#8220;The Rings of Power&#8221; — and 20 were on the set at the time of the incident, along with a veterinarian and an American Humane Association representative.
The horse in question was <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/03/horse-dies-the-lord-of-the-rings-the-rings-of-power-1235310287/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">supplied</a> by The Devil&#8217;s Horsemen — a Buckinghamshire-based company that has provided horses for &#8220;Wonder Woman,&#8221; &#8220;Justice League,&#8221; &#8220;Transformers: The Last Knight,&#8221; &#8220;Game Of Thrones,&#8221; and &#8220;The Crown.&#8221; This is the first known horse fatality in the company&#8217;s five-decade history.
&#8220;It seems that living underground with the orcs is par for the course for the producers of &#8216;The Rings of Power,&#8217; because they have the option to use CGI, mechanical rigs and other humane methods that wouldn’t run vulnerable horses to death on set,&#8221; PETA senior vice president Lisa Lange said in a statement.
&#8220;PETA is calling on the show’s creators — and all other producers — to take on a new quest without using any real horses. If they can’t avoid exploiting animals for their art, they should find a new medium, because no one wants to see a spinoff for TV with torment as the theme,&#8221; she concluded.
The activist organization has repeatedly called for an end to using real horses — and other animals — in film, arguing that filmmakers should rely entirely on CGI instead. Barring that, PETA has said that an animal behaviorist should be on set at all times in an effort to prevent any potential mistreatment.

Director <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/steven-spielberg">Steven Spielberg</a> said he regrets the impact his iconic movie “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">Jaws</a>” had on the shark population. 
The 76-year-old Hollywood veteran made his feelings known during a recent interview with the BBC <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001g8m4">podcast</a> Desert Island Discs. Spielberg was 27 when he made “Jaws” in 1975 and said he looks back with mixed emotions on how popular the movie became.
“I truly and to this day regret the decimation of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sharks">shark population</a> because of the book and the film. I really, truly regret that,” the filmmaker said. “That’s one of the things I still fear. Not to get eaten by a shark, but that sharks are somehow mad at me for the feeding frenzy of crazy sport fishermen that happened after 1975.”
Author Peter Benchley, who wrote the book “Jaws,” previously expressed similar sentiments and has spent time advocating for the protection of sharks, BBC <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-33049099">reported</a>. 
&#8220;Knowing what I know now, I could never write that book today,&#8221; Benchley said of creating a revenge-seeking shark. &#8220;Sharks don&#8217;t target human beings, and they certainly don&#8217;t hold grudges.&#8221;
“Jaws” is a cult classic thriller that follows a team of individuals hunting a man-eating great white shark terrorizing a summer resort town. It stars Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, Richard Dreyfuss as a marine biologist, and Robert Shaw as a professional shark hunter. The film was mostly shot in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. It won three Academy Awards and numerous other accolades.
Spielberg blames himself and the popularity of “Jaws” for the decline in shark populations, but Paul Cox, chief executive of the Shark Trust in the United Kingdom, said that this explanation is “giving the film far too much credit.”
“The cases of shark population decline are very clearly fisheries overfishing,” Cox said, per <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/steven-spielberg-regrets-jaws-influence-shark-population-200258278.html">The Guardian</a>. 
Cox did say he’s happy Spielberg is discussing the issue and bringing attention to it, however. 
“For someone with his celebrity to be addressing the challenge of communicating about sharks in a more positive way is very welcome,” he continued. 
The Shark Trust executive said “Jaws” resonates with fans because of the mystery surrounding sharks. “It’s a natural fear we have of the unknown. The sea, the marine environment, still has a lot of unknowns,” he explained.

Multibillionaire Elon Musk is busy running the electric vehicle company Tesla, launching rockets into the cosmos via SpaceX as he aims to put a man on Mars, and now he&#8217;s the top twit on Twitter, tweeting his little heart out.
But somehow he also oversees a bizarre program to design brain implants for humans — which new reports say has led to the deaths of some 1,500 animals on which the devices are being tested.
Musk said last week that a wireless &#8220;brain chip&#8221; developed by Neuralink could go into human clinical trials within six months. But a new report says since 2018, the company has killed about 1,500 animals, including more than 280 sheep, pigs and monkeys, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/technology/musks-neuralink-faces-federal-probe-employee-backlash-over-animal-tests-2022-12-05/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Reuters.
The global news agency also said the medical device company &#8220;is under federal investigation for potential animal-welfare violations amid internal staff complaints that its animal testing is being rushed, causing needless suffering and deaths,&#8221; according to documents reviewed by Reuters and sources familiar with the investigation and company operations.
Reuters also said the the federal probe, which had not been previously reported, was &#8220;opened in recent months by the US Department of Agriculture&#8217;s Inspector General at the request of a federal prosecutor, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation.&#8221;
It&#8217;s not the first time Neuralink has come under fire. In February, an animal rights group, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), filed a complaint, claiming monkeys have been killed in botched surgeries to implant the chips.
&#8220;The group alleged that surgeons used the wrong surgical glue twice, which led to two monkeys suffering and ultimately dying, while other monkeys had different complications from the implants,&#8221; Reuters reported.
Treatment of monkeys burst into the headlines again last week when the PCRM launched a new <a href="https://www.pcrm.org/news/news-releases/ahead-elon-musks-show-and-tell-doctors-group-reveals-disturbing-truth-behind" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>. The site says Neuralink&#8217;s experiments at the University of California, Davis, &#8220;resulted in chronic infections, seizures, paralysis, internal bleeding, and declining psychological health.&#8221;
&#8220;Hundreds of pages of public records revealed animals suffering from sloppy experiments that resulted in chronic infections, seizures, paralysis, internal bleeding, and declining psychological health before they were killed,&#8221; the site said.
&#8220;In two separate incidents, experimenters filled holes in monkeys’ skulls with an unapproved adhesive, which seeped through to the animals’ brains. In one monkey, the adhesive caused bleeding in her brain, and she vomited so much from the resulting side effects that she developed open sores in her esophagus,&#8221; the PCRM said.
“When it comes to Neuralink, Elon Musk is just a modern-day P.T. Barnum,” said Ryan Merkley, director of research advocacy with the Physicians Committee. “He’s a showman who makes big promises while hiding the grisly details from the public. We’re pulling back the curtain on him.”
Musk, though, says surgeries on animals are used only at a later stage of research in an effort to confirm that the device works rather than to test early hypotheses.
&#8220;We’re extremely careful,&#8221; he said, to make sure that testing is &#8220;confirmatory, not exploratory,&#8221; <a href="https://metro.co.uk/2022/12/06/musks-neuralink-investigated-over-killing-1500-animals-in-tests-17884516/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the UK&#8217;s Metro.
The federal probe will determine if that&#8217;s true.

Democratic Governor of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Jersey</a> Phil Murphy is <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/15/nyregion/bear-hunt-new-jersey.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reversing</a> his position against bear hunting much to the discontent of animal rights activists. 
When Murphy was running for governor in 2017, he was against the bear hunt in the state and vowed to get rid of it. He did so, but this year, he is bringing it back due to the increasing bear population in the state and the rising number of dangerous encounters with the animals. 
Murphy signed an executive order in 2018 that ended hunting bears on government land. The governor <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/new-jersey-moves-to-curb-bear-hunting-1534806669?mod=article_inline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> at the time that in order to entirely ban the practice, the New Jersey Fish and Game Council would need to do so. Earlier this month, Murphy said he was planning to get rid of the 2018 order because of increased safety concerns. 
The New Jersey Fish and Game Council <a href="https://newjerseymonitor.com/2022/11/16/n-j-bear-hunt-likely-returning-despite-pleas-from-animal-activists/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">held</a> a unanimous vote in favor of bringing back the hunt after Murphy said he had to reinstate it. After they did so, Murphy <a href="https://www.nj.gov/governor/news/news/562022/20221115a.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreed</a> and got rid of his 2018 order. The council also examined and approved alterations to the Game Code regarding the bear season in New Jersey. 
“The facts on the ground have shown that we cannot rely on nonlethal methods alone to protect New Jersey residents from a growing black bear population,” Governor Murphy said earlier this month. “Today’s actions will facilitate the reinstatement of a regulated black bear hunt this year to help limit dangerous interactions between people and bears to protect public safety.”
The state’s Department of Environmental Protection <a href="https://dep.nj.gov/njfw/bears/bear-hunting-season-information/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">outlined</a> the public safety issues regarding bears in the state. The department noted that the DEP received a “237% increase in bear damage and nuisance reports” from the beginning of this year up to October 21, when compared to the same time span the year before.
The department <a href="https://dep.nj.gov/wp-content/uploads/njfw/activity_ytd_october22.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that there have been 84 property damage incidents reported to the agency, 129 vehicle strikes, 62 aggressive encounters, 15 attempted home entries, and 433 sightings.
The population of bears has gone up to over 3,000 in the state. Regular hunts used to keep the number closer to 1,500, Ed Markowski, a former worker at the state’s Division of Fish and Wildlife, <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/new-jerseys-bear-hunt-is-restored-reigniting-debate-on-curbing-population-11668922408" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the Wall Street Journal.
Jeff Tittel, former director of the New Jersey Sierra Club, claimed that Murphy’s new stance has to do with his political future. 
“It’s one thing to be for gun control,” Tittel <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/15/nyregion/bear-hunt-new-jersey.html#:~:text=Months%20after%20taking%20office%20in,in%20the%20fall%20of%202020." target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, “but another thing to be against hunting. That would hurt him in states like New Hampshire, Iowa, Michigan and Pennsylvania.”
Activists and groups are <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/new-jerseys-bear-hunt-is-restored-reigniting-debate-on-curbing-population-11668922408">issuing</a> threats of legal action to stop the hunt. 
The hunt will take place from December 5 to December 10. It will end if 30% of the bear population of 2022 is brought in, but if 20% of the bears are not harvested during the hunt, an additional window of time will be allowed.

An intoxicated person galloping on horseback through Southern <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/california">California</a> traffic led Whittier police officers on a pursuit Friday afternoon after the rider refused to obey authorities&#8217; command to rein in the equine and stop.
Whittier Police Department shared images of officers escorting a brown horse to the police, where they secured the animal to a hitching post with a water-filled bin nearby.
&#8220;That was our afternoon,&#8221; Whittier Police Department authorities said on social media. &#8220;A pursuit after a DUI on a horse!&#8221;
Authorities said the suspect eventually surrendered and was taken into custody, and the horse &#8220;received lots of love&#8221; from the team.

According to a <a href="https://vistacriminallaw.com/even-horses-can-count-as-a-vehicle-when-it-comes-to-dui-law/">California law firm</a>, riding a horse while intoxicated through traffic could also lead to animal neglect charges for putting the animal at risk and further losing custody of the horse.

Los Angeles Rams linebackers Bobby Wagner and Takkarist McKinley tackled an animal rights activist who disrupted the team&#8217;s game against the San Francisco 49ers during Monday Night Football.
Just before halftime, a member of Direct Action Everywhere, an animal rights group, who were attending Monday night&#8217;s game ran across the 49ers Levi&#8217;s Stadium with a device releasing red and pink smoke to raise awareness about a massive pig factory farm allegedly hiding its abuses inside the facility. 
The nonprofit <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/14uJavoM2lkiLAc65SQ6g63TVuhAm-ac9lYcjY3vK2Po/edit">reports</a> Allison Fluty and Alex Taylor were cited, with one still in police custody, after running onto the field at separate points during the second quarter.
ESPN <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34721839/los-angeles-rams-bobby-wagner-takkarist-mckinley-handle-fan-gets-field-monday-night-football" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> one evaded security and rushed toward the Rams&#8217; sideline when McKinley and Wagner took matters into their own hands and laid out the protester near the 40-yard line. The other protester ran out onto the field with a similar device earlier in the game but was apprehended by security.

Monday night&#8217;s incident marks the second time a fan ran onto the field with a device letting out pink smoke during a game. The animal rights group interrupted the season-opening Bills-Rams game last month with two activists running onto the field, TMZ <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2022/09/09/women-protesters-rams-bills-game-pink-flare/">reported</a>.
The protesters who rushed the field hoped to raise awareness about a trial involving two of the group&#8217;s activists. Five members of Direct Action Everywhere allegedly snuck onto Circle Four Farms in Milford, Utah, back in 2017 and recorded themselves taking two piglets that they said were being treated inhumanely.
Wayne Hsiung and Paul Darwin Picklesimer, the two remaining defendants facing charges, could face more than ten years in prison on felony burglary and theft charges.
&#8220;Smithfield will do anything to hide its abuses from the public because they know that if people saw what is happening inside factory farms, they would be horrified,&#8221; Taylor has said. 
&#8220;They are going to great lengths to throw two of my friends in prison for years simply for investigating their farms and rescuing sick and dying piglets,&#8221; he added, according to Direct Action Everywhere. &#8220;I took action to raise awareness about the ongoing Smithfield trial.&#8221;
The Spectrum <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.thespectrum.com/story/news/2022/10/03/dxe-animal-rights-groups-protest-st-george-trial-wayne-hsiung-paul-darwin-picklesimer-pigs-utah-farm/8167606001/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> that representatives for Smithfield Foods, which owns Circle Four Farms, have called the videos deceptive, and told The Washington Post that the activists were &#8220;trespassing onto company property, breaking into a barn, stealing animals and violating Smithfield&#8217;s strict biosecurity policy to prevent the spread of disease onto our farms.&#8221;

Freaking out a group of animal activist protesters, some of whom <a href="https://twitter.com/ViralNewsNYC/status/1563612173389414401">spilled fake blood</a> on the sidewalk in front of the Nike, Dior and Louis Vuitton stores in Manhattan, a man walked over and calmly started eating his shish kebab in front of them.
His presence while eating meat catalyzed some incendiary responses. As posted on Twitter by @ViralNewsNYC, the video showed people screaming in his face.
“You’re disgusting. Who do you think you are? You’re a coward, you&#8217;re just a f***ing coward!” yelled a woman who identified herself later as an organizer of the annual Animal Rights March. “You’re a piece of s*** and you’re embarrassing. What am I going to do? Nothing, you’re going to die on your own.”
Another person ranted, “You and your small d*** and your p**** way of killing animals and it feels good in front of the vegans, huh? ‘
That prompted the shish kebab eater to lick the meat on his shish kebab more avidly.
“You have all the blood on your face and on your hands,” the protester raged. “It feels good with your small d***.”
“Shame, shame, shame,” another woman chimed in.

Representatives from PETA, NYCLASS and the Humane Society attended the protest, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11154395/Man-eats-shish-kebab-animal-rights-activists-outside-stores.html">The Daily Mail</a> reported.
“I’m here because this is our chance as animal rights activists to come together once a year to celebrate our movement, to let the world know we are taking a stand together against speciesism, which is the idea that humans are superior to animals and we have the right to use them for our purposes,” Ashley Byrne, the director of outreach for PETA, stated. “And I think what we all want out of being here today is for people to think about their relationship and to realize that animals are individuals. There were created for their own purpose; they are thinking, feeling individuals just like us.”
Some responses on social media applauded the man with comments such as “Somebody get that man a beer to go with his shish kabob,” “This hero deserves an @alexstein99 award,” and “This would be me if I lived in NYC. I’d bring 50 of my buddies and have a giant BBQ. Dude &#8230; is a stud!!”
In March 2018, animal rights activists in Toronto conducting their fourth protest against a game-themed restaurant called Antler Kitchen and Bar got a response they didn’t expect: one of the co-owners of the restaurant, who was also a chef, brought out a deer leg to a table in the front window and started carving it in front of the protesters.
