In a marriage of one of the nation&#8217;s oldest conservative publications to one of its newest, the venerable <a href="https://humanevents.com">Human Events</a> has snapped up <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com">The Post Millennial</a>.
The Washington, D.C.-based Human Events, which was established in 1944 and which President Ronald Reagan often cited as his favorite magazine, bought the upstart Post Millennial in a bid to &#8220;disrupt the political media landscape,&#8221; the companies said in a joint news release.
“I am thrilled with the incredibly deep and diverse platform this combination creates,” said Human Events Publisher Jeff Webb. “Our talent lineup is second to none. This is a new media powerhouse that will constructively influence the political dialogue in this country while simultaneously challenging some of the largest, most-established publications. We are positioned to grow, and to grow fast.”
The merger will put a powerful lineup of journalists and commentators under one banner, including Jack Posobiec, Charlie Kirk, Andy Ngo, Katie Daviscourt, Ari Hoffman, Brent Hamachek, and Chris Barron.
“We are building a media enterprise that reaches the entire spectrum of the conservative world, in all demographics, and across all platforms,” Webb said. “The Post Millennial is a critical part of this effort because it reaches an important younger demographic and can break stories faster than any newsroom I’ve come across.”
The Post Millennial Editor-in-Chief Libby Emmons said her Montreal-based site, which was founded in 2017, has been a leader in calling out woke social trends, and will continue to do so with the added muscle of the Human Events resources.

After woke mobs began attacking him early in 2021 for his association with Jordan Peterson and his praise of journalist Andy Ngo, former Mumford and Sons guitarist Winston Marshall felt it would be better to leave the band than apologize or stay silent.
As The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mumford-sons-guitarist-announces-hes-leaving-band-to-speak-his-mind-on-political-issues">reported</a>, in announcing he was parting ways with his longtime bandmates, the 34-year-old Grammy winner said he saw “nothing wrong with being conservative.”
“I could remain and continue to self-censor,” he wrote in his farewell letter, “but it will erode my sense of integrity. Gnaw my conscience. I’ve already felt that beginning. The only way forward for me is to leave the band.”
Now it looks like the musician is ready for new sort of gig. He <a href="https://twitter.com/MrWinMarshall/status/1472874174469316611?s=20">announced</a> on Twitter on Dec. 20 that he has partnered with the conservative British culture journal, The Spectator, to launch a new podcast titled “Marshall Matters.” Marshall promised it will include interviews with “people across the creative industries to find out what indeed is the state of the arts.”
“This is gonna be fun,” he added.
Since voluntarily leaving the multi-platinum Mumford and Sons, the banjo-player and guitarist has been busy <a href="https://twitter.com/MrWinMarshall/status/1463175484997525507?s=20">calling</a> for solidarity with the Uyghur population as they continue to face genocide at the hands of the Chinese government. In November, he co-sponsored a <a href="https://twitter.com/MrWinMarshall/status/1462030038589743109?s=20">London fundraiser</a> featuring Uyghur music, art, and food.
Marshall also appears to be enjoying a newfound freedom to speak his mind, posting <a href="https://twitter.com/MrWinMarshall/status/1462205622003326985?s=20">photos</a> of his meetings with iconoclastic intellectuals like Jordan Peterson and quoting such “dark web” thinkers as Bari Weiss. In October, he highlighted an <a href="https://www.commentary.org/articles/bari-weiss/resist-woke-revolution/">essay</a> by Weiss about the path out of wokeness titled “We Got Here Because of Cowardice. We Get Out With Courage.”
Marshall <a href="https://twitter.com/MrWinMarshall/status/1448933224873398275?s=20">quoted</a> her, “Diversity is replaced with homogeneity of thought. Inclusion, with exclusion. In this ideology, speech is violence. But violence, when carried out by the right people in pursuit of a just cause, is not violence at all.”
He explained in June how he ultimately reached his decision to leave Mumford and Sons by quoting Soviet dissident Alexandr Solzhenitsyn’s famous essay, “Live Not By Lies.” At the time he said he read it “many times” after woke mobs started demanding the band kick him out if he refused to stop making positive statements about right-leaning public figures and ideas.
In the passage, the Russian novelist issues a clarion call to speak truth in the face of political oppression:

SoundCloud purportedly banned journalist Andy Ngo’s podcast over the weekend for allegedly violating the platform’s terms of service.
Ngo, editor-at-large of The Post Millennial, is known for his in-depth reporting on Antifa&#8217;s activism and violence. His podcast, “Things You Should Ngo,” was reportedly booted suddenly off the platform SoundCloud about a year after the last episode was published. Ngo was not offered a way to appeal the decision, according to <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-andy-ngos-podcast-permanently-banned-from-soundcloud?utm_campaign=64470">The Post Millennial</a>.
“@SoundCloud has permanently banned me &amp; my podcast @YouShouldNgo. In an email, it says I violated its community guidelines without naming the alleged offending content,” Ngo tweeted Monday. He pointed out that guests on his podcast have included popular figures such as podcaster Dave Rubin, The Spectator associate editor Douglas Murray, and psychologist Jordan Peterson.
“Big Tech is not nonpartisan nor neutral. Being permanently suspended from @SoundCloud without knowing why or even having an opportunity to appeal is how it is now,” Ngo added.

SoundCloud’s Trust &amp; Safety Team emailed Ngo notifying him that his podcast had been booted from its platform for violating SoundCloud’s terms of use. The platform did not cite a specific violation, though its terms of service bans content that is “abusive, libelous, defamatory, pornographic or obscene, that promotes or incites violence, terrorism, illegal acts, or hatred on the grounds of race, ethnicity, cultural identity, religious belief, disability, gender, identity or sexual orientation, or is otherwise objectionable in SoundCloud’s reasonable discretion.”
SoundCloud’s email to Ngo read in part: “We take the security of our community very seriously. We hope that you can understand that SoundCloud is a place for people to share content which respects our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines,” according to The Post Millennial.
SoundCloud did not immediately return The Daily Wire’s request for comment.
Social media platforms and other “big tech” corporations are increasingly drawing the ire of Republicans and others for censoring mainstream conservative or religious views, such as the claim that biological men cannot become women and vice versa. Elected Republicans are seemingly preparing for a fight against big tech companies over such issues. On Sunday night, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mccarthys-letter-launches-gop-attack-on-big-tech-silencing-conservatives">wrote</a> a letter to his caucus outlining the GOP plan to push back against big tech.
“The examples of conservative censorship and bias across internet platforms has proliferated. Each one of you are all too familiar with how Big Tech and its overwhelmingly liberal executives want to set the agenda and silence conservatives,” McCarthy wrote.
He said Republicans should push for reforms to social media platforms protections under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Reforms “would preclude Big Tech from discriminating against Americans based on their political affiliation,” he said.
McCarthy also said the GOP should push for more transparency from big tech companies in how they make decisions regarding their users and alleged terms of service violations. He also said that the plodding pace of government should not stall GOP action on big tech.
“Conservatives and our ideas have been targeted by Big Tech for too long. We must step up because make no mistake, the Democrats continue to demonstrate no interest in addressing fairness when it comes to conservative viewpoints. And they’ll continue to use Big Tech to do so,” McCarthy wrote.

Mumford &amp; Sons lead guitarist and banjo player Winston Marshall announced Thursday he’s leaving the multi-platinum band in order to “speak freely.”
As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mumford-sons-guitarist-steps-away-from-band-for-promoting-book-from-conservative-reporter">reported</a>, a woke online mob attacked Marshall in March, likening him to a Nazi, after he praised conservative journalist Andy Ngo for his “brave” documentation of Antifa’s political extremism and violence in the book, &#8220;Unmasked.”
At the time, the British performer apologized and seemed to back away from his commendation, saying, “I have offended not only a lot of people I don’t know, but also those closest to me, including my bandmates and for that I am truly sorry. As a result of my actions I am taking time away from the band to examine my blindspots.”
But it appears after more than three months of reflection, Marshall has come to regret his disavowal, saying in a farewell letter posted to <a href="https://mrwinstonmarshall.medium.com/why-im-leaving-mumford-sons-e6e731bbc255">Medium</a>, “The truth is that reporting on extremism at the great risk of endangering oneself is unquestionably brave. I also feel that my previous apology in a small way participates in the lie that such extremism does not exist, or worse, is a force for good.”
Marshall said that while he abhors both Far Left and Far Right fanaticism, he sees “nothing wrong with being conservative.” He described his own views as “[fluttering] between ‘centrist,’ ‘liberal’ or the more honest ‘bit this, bit that,’” and added, “Being labeled erroneously just goes to show how binary political discourse has become.”
The 33-year-old Grammy winner then shared how concern for the other members of the group led him to express remorse he did not truly feel when the mob came after him. “In the mania of the moment I was desperate to protect my bandmates,” he said. “The hornets’ nest that I had unwittingly hit had unleashed a black-hearted swarm on them and their families.”
In explaining how he ultimately reached his decision to part ways, despite his bandmates inviting him to stay, Marshall quoted Soviet dissident Alexandr Solzhenitsyn’s famous essay, “Live Not By Lies,&#8221; revealing that he has read it many times since his initial cancellation. &#8220;No journalist in America should ever face violence for doing his or her job,&#8221; Ngo said. &#8220;Yet on Friday, May 28, Antifa tried to kill me again while I was reporting on the ongoing protests and riots in Portland, Ore. for a new chapter of my book, &#8216;Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy.'&#8221;
&#8220;I was chased, attacked and beaten by a masked mob, baying for my blood,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Had I not been able to shelter wounded and bleeding inside a hotel while they beat the doors and windows like animals, there is no doubt in my mind I would not be here today. &#8220;Antifa wants me dead because I document what they want to stay hidden,&#8221; Ngo said in a statement. &#8220;The attacks against me and threats on my life are retribution for my work as a journalist, recording the tactics and true ideology of an extremist clandestine movement that relies on deception and regards the truth as the greatest threat of all. They want the right to hide their identities behind masks, and erase records of their arrests and alleged crimes. They want me dead for capturing these things and reporting on them.&#8221;
&#8220;But it is the right of every journalist, protected and preserved by the founding fathers, to report freely without fear,&#8221; Ngo continued. &#8220;I was forced to flee my home in Portland last year as the death threats escalated but returned recently to take care of my elderly family. When I engaged in field reporting for my book, I did what every beat reporter would do: I took care to mitigate the risks and went to observe Antifa first-hand during a demonstration at the Justice Center. Like many other journalists Antifa has tried to silence and intimidate through violence and threats, I had to cover my face and eyes to do my job and stay alive. As the Asian son of Vietnamese immigrants, I also have to be mindful of Antifa’s attacks on multiple people of East Asian origin.&#8221;
Ngo said he sprinted through downtown Portland trying to escape the mob before he was tackled and attacked, being repeatedly hit in the head before he found temporary refuge in a hotel that tried to force him to leave.
Ngo posted photos to social media of himself at the hospital, where he said he was treated for injuries sustained during the attack.

Journalist Andy Ngo Brutally Attacked In Portland: ‘Antifa Tried To Kill Me Again While I Was Reporting’

Just when you think we have made it to the furthest reaches of cultural lunacy, and of the cowardice that enables that lunacy, we find still deeper depths to plunge. Winston Marshall plays — did play, rather — the banjo and lead guitar for Mumford and Sons, a group famous for being everyone’s third favorite band in the summer of 2011. This past weekend, Marshall ignited controversy, as well as accusations of bigotry and Nazism, by publicly confessing to having read a book. The musician tweeted an endorsement of journalist Andy Ngo’s Antifa expose, “Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy.” The tweet, addressed to Ngo, said: “Finally had the time to read your important book. You’re a brave man.” That was it. And it was enough to set the cancel wheels in motion.
Fans, the media, and fellow musicians came out swinging, labeling Marshall a racist, calling for him to be fired, and so on and so forth. They made it clear that there is essentially no difference between reading and enjoying a book critical of Antifa and pledging allegiance to Hitler after reading Mein Kampf. To hint at even the mildest disagreement with the most radical fringes of the far Left is to profess far Right views, which is to be a bigot, which is to reveal yourself unworthy of inclusion in civilized society. This is the formula, clear and simple and totally insane.
In fairness to the cancel mob, this is not Marshall’s first infraction. He has in the past showed ominous signs of possessing a mind of his own. An article in the Hollywood Reporter notes:
<blockquote>This is not the first time Marshall and Mumford &amp; Sons have courted controversy for associating with notorious right-wing personalities. Back in 2018, the band invited Canadian academic Jordan Peterson, who has been accused of transphobia, misogyny and Islamophobia, to visit their London studios. After pictures of Peterson and members of the band appeared on social media, Marshall told a Canadian radio station, &#8220;I don’t think that having a photograph with someone means you agree with everything they say.&#8221; He added, &#8220;Primarily I’m interested in his psychological stuff, which I find very interesting.”</blockquote>
There you have it. One minute, Marshall is taking a picture with a famous psychologist, three years later he’s reading a book. The Left could not allow this dangerous dissident a strike three. If they didn’t cancel him now, who knows what he’d do next. He might go out and misgender a Potato Head toy. There’s really no telling what sort of dastardly deeds this villain might get up to. Fortunately, the cancel mob was able to rein him in without much trouble.
After deleting the offending tweet, and then apparently deleting all of his other tweets, Marshall issued the standard order apology. His statement said:
<blockquote>“Over the past few days I have come to better understand the pain caused by the book I endorsed. I have offended not only a lot of people I don’t know, but also those closest to me, including my bandmates, and for that I am truly sorry. As a result of my actions I am taking time away from the band to to examine my blindspots. 
For now, please know that I realise how my endorsements have the potential to be viewed as approvals of hateful, divisive behaviour. I apologise, as this was not at all my intention.”</blockquote>
If you thought you would live your whole life and never encounter the phrase “pain caused by the book I endorsed,” you were sadly mistaken. Indeed, I feel it must be emphasized, and really cannot be emphasized enough, that this man is begging for forgiveness and stepping down from his position because he read and recommended a book. He has come to believe, or at least is pretending to believe, that his decision to read a book caused not only offense, but actual damage, to other human beings.
Prior to this, the most pathetic and deranged bit of groveling we’d ever witnessed was “The Bachelor” host Chris Harrison’s apology for advocating forgiveness. Winston Marshall managed to show a level of stomach-churning obsequiousness that outdid even that. And I have faith that some brave pioneer will come along in the very near future to debase themselves and surrender their dignity in such a way as to make Marshall look like Davey Crockett defending the Alamo by comparison.
It is all for naught, of course. As always, the groveler gains nothing from his masochistic performance. He is no less canceled at the end of it. The emotional blackmailers who demanded an apology for something that did not affect them or harm them in any way have no plans to actually accept that apology. Like any schoolyard bully, they get off on the act of imposing their will on another person. If you let yourself become a source of this perverse high, they will keep coming back for more. You can’t get them to stop taking your lunch money by giving them your lunch money. Your only hope is to stand up for yourself, refuse to play their game, and to send that message with a punch in the nose.
Admittedly, in the case of the cancel mob, that is much easier said than done. There is certainly no guarantee that they’ll leave you alone just because you have made it clear that you will not be an easy target. It’s quite possible that, no matter how you respond, they will come and take your job, your livelihood, and your reputation anyway. But the one thing they cannot take is your dignity. That is something a man must willingly forfeit. Winston Marshall is not the first, and certainly will not be the last, to offer his up on a silver platter, and get nothing in return.

Self-identified activist and comedian Charity Sadé recorded herself berating a CVS pharmacy manager on Thursday for calling the police after he apparently witnessed two men shoplifting from the store. 
Sadé, who posted the video to her Twitter account, yells at the manager for following CVS protocol because the shoplifters in question were black, suggesting he should have turned a blind eye to the criminal behavior because the encounter with officers could cost the alleged thieves &#8220;their lives.&#8221;

The activist&#8217;s Twitter account, which has since been set to private, <a href="https://twitter.com/CharinDC">describes</a> herself as follows: &#8220;Comedian | Writer | Activist | Public Speaker Teacher | Breast Cancer Advocate Community Organizer | Abolitionist.&#8221; The Twitter bio also adds the &#8220;preferred pronouns&#8221; of &#8220;She/her.&#8221;
“I live in the neighborhood, I come to this CVS very often,&#8221; Sadé confronts the store manger, as <a href="https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/woman-berates-pharmacy-manager-for-calling-police-on-black-men-shoplifting/news-story/a673263805411e01689bd7fffb24d323">detailed</a> by Australian outlet News.com.au. &#8220;May I ask why you called the police on those two men?”
CVS policy “dictates that if they’re shoplifters, they exit the store with merchandise unpaid for, we have to get the police involved,&#8221; the manger explains to the activist. “And if the police apprehend them, we have to issue a barring notice.&#8221;
However, the manager did not want to press charges; instead, he worked with the officers to merely inform the men they could no longer come into the store.
“But I actually did not elect to press charges,&#8221; he told Sadé. &#8220;I just wanted to say hey look, I just want them to know they can’t come in here anymore because they shoplifted and I just need them to sign that. The officers obliged and the guys said the same thing, thank you, and they left.”
Unsatisfied, Sadé pressed the manager, “So you know what happens (when the police are called on) black men?” She also scolded him for &#8220;[deciding] to call the police on two black people that allegedly took something from the store because you’re willing to uphold the policy and they could have lost their lives.&#8221;
&#8220;We can agree to disagree on this,&#8221; the manager again tries to deescalate. “I don’t work for you,” the activist says. “I follow my company’s policies, not your policies, while I can appreciate your concern …”
“So you’re willing to risk someone’s life for what, $30,000 a year?” Sadé accuses, before demanding his name. 
“I’m not going to tell you my name when you’re sitting here video taping me so you can try and elicit some sort of violence against me, it’s not going to happen,” he tells her.
“Elicit violence against you? You just elicited violence against two black men by calling the police on them,” Sadé charges, adding that one of the alleged shoplifters &#8220;had a warrant and could have been arrested and the cops still let him go.&#8221;
“Listen to yourself – you work with black folks,” the activist scolds. “Just remember that.”
In a tweet about the incident, the activist <a href="https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/woman-berates-pharmacy-manager-for-calling-police-on-black-men-shoplifting/news-story/a673263805411e01689bd7fffb24d323">posted</a>: &#8220;One officer told one of the men that their other person’s freedom was dependent on him being quiet. This is violent. People know what happens when the police are called on Black folx (folks)! They value property over people.”

Law enforcement officials repelled an attack by violent extremists on an Immigrant and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility Thursday night in Portland as violence continues to rock the city.
The Portland Police Department said that a group of approximately 100 people began gathering outside of the ICE building, blocking traffic in the process. Authorities said that the extremists were supported by &#8220;several support-type vehicles&#8221; and that those in the crowd were &#8220;seen carrying shields and wearing helmets and gas masks.&#8221;
The Portland Police Department said in a statement:
<blockquote>Around 11:10 p.m., several members of the group began tampering with the control panel to the gate on the ICE building. Other group members began tampering with the actual gate. Some group members were also seen tampering with the glass windows on the ICE building. Other members of the group sprayed port holes with paint on the ICE building so Federal Protective Service (FPS) officers could not see out while others vandalized the building with graffiti. Around 11:20 p.m., FPS officers exited the ICE building. Members of the group began throwing rocks and bottles at FPS officers as well as shined lasers and launched commercial grade fireworks towards them. A large dumpster fire was set near the intersection of South Lowell Street and South Moody Avenue. &#8230;
Portland Police officers began dispersing the crowd to the north. As officers dispersed the crowd, group members shined green lasers at them, as well as threw rocks, cones, glass bottles, and paint balloons at officers. Around 12:35 a.m., Portland Police disengaged from the group. After PPB officers disengaged the group, the group began walking south towards the ICE building again. Public address announcements were made once again, reminding the group the gathering was still an unlawful assembly and they needed to disperse to the north.
Despite the announcements, group members did not leave the area. Once again PPB officers dispersed the crowd. As the group was dispersed for the second time, officers were once again hit with projectiles and two other fires were started by members associated with the group. A third dispersal was initiated by PPB officers when the group once again returned to the ICE building. As the group was dispersed, the sound truck was hit with rocks.</blockquote>
Authorities said that there were several people arrested for harassment, disorderly conduct, and interfering with a peace officer.
Journalist Andy Ngo, who recently testified to the U.S. Senate about Antifa, tweeted out multiple videos of the violence.
&#8220;Antifa are disabling cameras at the ICE facility in Portland tonight and spray painting the front,&#8221; Ngo wrote. &#8220;Some are pounding on the glass doors. They’re ignoring the many verbal commands to stop.&#8221;

The media characterized it as a peaceful protest, the mayor called it a &#8220;block party,&#8221; journalist Andy Ngo of Quillette described something much worse.
Speaking with <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/andy-ngo-seattle-occupied-zone-night">Fox News</a> on Monday, Ngo recalled his time spent in Seattle&#8217;s &#8220;Capitol Hill Organized Protest&#8221; (The CHOP), describing a place with two different personalities, one by day and one by night: a quasi &#8220;Jekyll &amp; Hyde&#8221; type of situation.
Though the CHOP appears relatively peaceful during the day, Ngo said the &#8220;criminal elements come out&#8221; at night.
&#8220;Unfortunately, last night that was made very clear, when one person on a microphone and a loudspeaker was able to sic a mob of probably more than 100 people to chase down this business that was several blocks away. They just all descended on it. It was pure anarchy,&#8221; Ngo told Fox News, referring to CHOP&#8217;s dual nature.
&#8220;They pushed up against the fence and all rushed in. It could have been extremely violent,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Fortunately it wasn&#8217;t, according to what I heard from the owner and staff. They had detained one of the comrades of this camp for alleged arson and theft. And, because of that, all [of] his comrades came to help get him out.&#8221;
&#8220;[The] police never came,&#8221; he added.

Defenders of CHOP say that businesses in the area are sympathetic to the cause, with some even providing food and services to the squatters, and though that might be partially true, Ngo maintains that other businesses are not so enthusiastic.
&#8220;For example, there&#8217;s a Trader Joe&#8217;s nearby who announced just a few days ago that they&#8217;re closing indefinitely because of security and safety issues,&#8221; said Ngo. &#8220;So, when you take that and you also see all [of] the businesses that are boarded up, that no cars can drive into this area — I don&#8217;t see how the few anecdotes of positive experiences of some owners could be the representative voice.&#8221;
&#8220;Particularly when there are now some dissident voices coming out to speak and they&#8217;re having to do it anonymously because of threats of retaliation,&#8221; he added.
Ngo also recalled seeing people openly carrying weapons, from handguns to rifles to batons. Lack of medical care, drug use, and homelessness are also rampant in the CHOP.
&#8220;At night, it&#8217;s a completely different vibe than during the day,&#8221; Ngo said. &#8220;You see vagrants come there. Some of them are dealing with mental and health [crises]. There was an ambulance that was called yesterday. The fact that police are not going in should tell you quite a lot. And, this is what my own sourcing had told me last week is that if anybody needs help you actually have to leave the physical zone and go return to the U.S., let&#8217;s say, to get help.&#8221;
&#8220;So, this is a now one-week experiment in anarchy and chaos, and those who live there have to fend for themselves,&#8221; he concluded.
This past weekend, Ngo shared additional footage from the CHOP, which showed the sidewalks and storefronts covered top to bottom with profane, anti-police graffiti. Take a look:

Q: Why did you start collecting Antifa’s arrest records?
Ngo: It is an important information book for the public. Part of what makes Antifa a dangerous movement is that they rely on anonymity. And because the movement is anonymous the only information we have are through the arrest records and mugshots. Through that, I&#8217;ve been able to piece together a clearer picture of the demographics of who is involved.

Q: What kind of people are involved in Antifa?
Ngo: Antifa spans several classes of people. There are ideologues who are straight from the Ivory Tower, university students, and those who are vulnerable in dealing with instability and mental health issues related to homelessness and gender dysphoria. Antifa groups will welcome these people in, embrace them with a shared ideology and radicalize them. If they happen to get arrested or charged or convicted, these people are kind of easily disposed of, in a way?

As much as I have been vocally critical against this movement, I do have sympathy insofar as they are people who have the potential to do a lot with their lives, but instead have been pulled into a movement that will use and discard them.

Q: Are you concerned for your safety, releasing the mugshots and arrest records?
Ngo: Yes. They have the address of my family, where my mother works, and they&#8217;re escalating [threats against me]. About six of them showed up at my home on Halloween and were pounding on the windows and doors. So I am concerned for my safety. Due to the threats, I&#8217;m not really able to stay in Portland much longer.
Q: Are there times that you think about moving on to another beat because of the danger?
Ngo: I think about that all the time. But if I don&#8217;t do it, there isn’t really anybody else.
Q: How does your family respond to your work?
Ngo: They&#8217;re concerned. They ask me why I work on something so potentially dangerous to myself and those around me. I just try to explain to them just how important it is.
Q: Do you think mainstream media avoid investigating Antifa mainly because its journalists are afraid?
Ngo: I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s because they&#8217;re afraid; I think it&#8217;s because many mainstream journalists are sympathetic to Antifa. My view is that Antifa would not have been able to get by doing without the media covering for them. Antifa depends on the wider public viewing them as unsung heroes in order for them to do such brutal, medieval violent activities on citizens.
Q: Should Antifa be characterized as a terrorist group?
Ngo: I would describe their activities as terrorist activities. What makes them less deadly than jihadist groups is that they lack the funding streams to acquire weapons. But I think if they did have that, they would engage in that violence.
Q: Have you ever tried to speak with the members?
Ngo: Yes. I tried to let them know that they were misinformed about me. I did this every time up until my beating.
Q: What was it like, speaking to them?
Ngo: The point of wearing the black block is to make it so that these militants are no longer individuals — you’re part of a mass. So when I spoke to them, it wasn&#8217;t like I was speaking to an individual. It was like speaking to people who only had ideology.
Q: What kind of emotions did you see there under the surface?
Ngo: Anger and hatred. The times I have seen them attack people — they&#8217;re animalistic, I would say. The part of the brain that is driving them in those moments &#8230; it&#8217;s the primal desire to maim, to injure, to kill.
Q: I just want to circle back to your political views. What has shaped your ideology?
Ngo: I used to be a social justice warrior back in my undergrad days. I used to be someone who embraced the victimhood worldview, which is the undercurrent of the Antifa ideology. So I have a drive to show how this worldview is part of the same continuum toward the violent extremism of Antifa and other far-left movements. It&#8217;s not out of a partisan hatred, but rather I can see where they are coming from since that used to be appealing to me.
Q:  What was appealing about the victimhood mentality?
Ngo: It was appealing to direct hatred and anger at others for my own failings because it meant I didn&#8217;t have to take responsibility. It&#8217;s much easier to blame a “system.”
Q: Was there a &#8220;Eureka&#8221; moment when you snapped out of that mentality?
Ngo: Yeah there was a moment where I had to finally come to terms with myself — that only I am responsible for my actions, my successes as well as my failures. I can blame everything and anything around me and while that may feel soothing, it doesn&#8217;t actually change the reality of my situation until I make different choices.
Q: Last but not least, how has your recovery been since the incident in June 2019?
Ngo: I&#8217;m doing a lot better, but I still struggle with cognitive stuff like memory. I have really intensive physical, occupational, and cognitive therapy to help me recover.

We&#8217;ve reached a point where even statistics can be bigoted and hateful. That&#8217;s why journalist Andy Ngo was recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/journalist-andy-ngo-confronts-chelsea-clinton-with-facts-about-transgender-violence-twitter-suspends-him">suspended</a> from Twitter — he reported verifiable, statistically based facts.
Ngo received the punishment from the social media site after he attempted to correct misinformation from Chelsea Clinton. The former First Daughter decided to ring in this year&#8217;s &#8220;Transgender Day of Remembrance&#8221; by spreading the outrageous and dangerous, yet exceedingly common, lie that trans people are falling victim to a hate crime epidemic.
&#8220;Since 2013, more than 150 trans people have been murdered in the U.S., the majority Black transgender women,&#8221; Clinton posted. &#8220;On <a class="PrettyLink hashtag customisable" href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TDoR2019?src=hash" rel="tag" data-query-source="hashtag_click" data-scribe="element:hashtag">#</a>TDoR2019, we remember and honor the lives lost, hold their loved ones in our hearts and must commit to doing all we can to end this epidemic of violence and hate.&#8221;
An &#8220;epidemic,&#8221; she calls it. One of &#8220;violence and hate,&#8221; clearly implying that these trans people are all, or mostly, being murdered by anti-trans militants. Racist, anti-trans militants, she seems to suggest by making special mention of the race of the victims. Ngo responded by objectively and dispassionately relaying the actual facts of the mater.
&#8220;The U.S. is one of the safest countries for trans people,” Ngo said in his banned tweet. “The murder rate of trans victims is actually lower than that for cis population. Also, who is behind the murders? Mostly black men.”

Not a word of this is untrue. And not a word of it constitutes &#8220;hateful conduct,&#8221; as Twitter alleged. If 150 trans people have been murdered in six years, and there are about <a href="https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/How-Many-Adults-Identify-as-Transgender-in-the-United-States.pdf">one and a half million</a> trans people in the country, that puts the murder rate at 1 in 60,000. By comparison, the overall murder rate in this country is <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/06/upshot/us-murder-rate-for-2018-is-on-track-for-a-big-drop.html">more than double</a> that figure. This already conclusively puts to rest any talk of an &#8220;epidemic.&#8221; If there&#8217;s an epidemic of trans murders, there must be a double epidemic of murder in general. Which means there can&#8217;t be an epidemic of trans murders because trans people are less likely to be murdered than non-trans people.
As for race, the leftist organizations behind this &#8220;epidemic&#8221; myth <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/journalist-andy-ngo-confronts-chelsea-clinton-with-facts-about-transgender-violence-twitter-suspends-him">admit themselves</a> that most of the black &#8220;trans women&#8221; murdered are falling victim to other black men. This makes the murders very sad, as all murders are, but it completely destroys any attempt to turn this into a manifestation of racial bigotry, as Chelsea Clinton and her friends in the media try to do. This is the point Andy Ngo was making, though he made it far less passionately than I have here. All he did, literally, was state statistical facts. But statistical facts are forbidden when they contradict the established narrative.
In fact, the &#8220;trans murder epidemic&#8221; is even more baseless that it already seems. Chad Felix Greene over at The Federalist has <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2019/11/04/the-left-is-lying-about-a-hatred-and-violence-epidemic-against-transgender-people/">looked into</a> nearly ever trans murder reported over the last few years. He demonstrated convincingly that only four of the 118 cases he investigated could be called anti-trans hate crimes. His search goes back to 2015, which means the real &#8220;epidemic&#8221; consists of one anti-trans murder per year. If one a year can be called an epidemic, then almost every crime — indeed, almost every bad thing that can happen to a person — is also an epidemic. The word &#8220;epidemic,&#8221; in that case, loses all meaning.
The vast majority of the murders are related to domestic violence, prostitution, or random tragedy. For example, as Greene explains, one of the murders lumped into the &#8220;epidemic&#8221; label was the accidental shooting of a trans person by a friend on New Year&#8217;s Eve. Another was a trans person killed along with 19 other people in a mass shooting. The media take these cases, and the cases of prostitution and domestic violence-related murders, and pile them on top of the tiny handful of actual hate crimes to pad the stats and create an epidemic out of whole cloth. It&#8217;s dishonest. It&#8217;s disgraceful. And I&#8217;d say it&#8217;s far more &#8220;hateful&#8221; than anything Andy Ngo tweeted.

On Thursday, an Antifa activist doxed people who&#8217;ve contributed to journalist Andy Ngo&#8217;s GoFundMe page, which was opened after Ngo suffered a brain hemorrhage from an attack by left-wing Antifa activists while covering one of the group&#8217;s violent protests in Portland this summer.
Doxing, or posting the identity/personal information of someone with the intent to cause them harm, has become a common tactic of far-left activists, including Antifa.
&#8220;Oh f***, I might f*** around [and] expose these donors,&#8221; the Antifa account, @TheQueerCrimer, started a thread on Thursday, captioning a tweet about Ngo&#8217;s GoFundMe account.
The subsequent 16 tweets in the thread showcased screenshots of 35 individuals, nearly all of their locations, and employment information. The Daily Wire will not be posting the screenshots with said personal information.
Mr. Ngo responded to the doxing from the account on Friday morning.
&#8220;Last night an antifa account decided to go after those who donated to my GoFundMe when I was hospitalized in June by releasing their photos &amp; personal info,&#8221; the journalist posted. &#8220;This is depraved &amp; a new low, even for antifa. I have reported this to Twitter and GoFundMe.&#8221;
&#8220;If you want to go after someone, go after me. Leave those around me—my family, my supporters—the hell alone,&#8221; Ngo, the son of Vietnamese immigrants, added.

&#8220;Wearing print-out masks of Ngo’s face, the individuals repeatedly rang the doorbell of the home and banged on the windows, according to the reporter. In the provided video footage from Ngo, it appears that one of the suspected Antifa members, who is wearing thick gloves, grabs the handle of the front door,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-suspected-antifa-members-show-up-at-reporters-family-home-dox-elderly-mothers-business">The Daily Wire</a> reported.
“These [six] individuals wearing print-out masks of my face approached my family’s home last night, repeatedly rang doorbell, pounded on window, recorded footage of property, and gestured at cameras,” Ngo captioned a video of the incident. “There were no candy bags.”

And, of course, the journalist was brutally beaten and reportedly robbed by Antifa this summer.
“I was beaten on the head &amp; robbed on 29 June. Antifa then continued to hurl ‘milkshakes’ at my bleeding face. I was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage,” Ngo captioned a video of the vicious attack.
As previously highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-suspected-antifa-members-show-up-at-reporters-family-home-dox-elderly-mothers-business">The Daily Wire</a>, it was suspected by authorities that some of the “milkshakes” being thrown by Antifa were made with quick-dry cement.
