<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kathy-griffin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kathy Griffin</a> took a shot at CNN ahead of the network&#8217;s New Year&#8217;s Eve coverage with anchor Anderson Cooper and his co-host for the event, Andy Cohen.
&#8220;I can’t wait to watch Miley and Dolly tonight,&#8221; Griffin, who was fired from co-hosting the show, wrote on Instagram.
Fox News reported that the remarks were an apparent reference to NBC’s competing New Year show with Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton.
&#8220;Ugh. Every year someone sends me this clip around New Year’s Eve,&#8221; Griffin said in the post. &#8220;This guy was my boss for years. Decided whether or not I worked at Bravo. Can you imagine seeing your ex boss on TMZ like…this? Ouch! Anyway, I can’t wait to watch Miley and Dolly tonight.&#8221;
Cooper and Cohen <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/kathy-griffin-swipes-cnn-andy-cohen-ahead-new-years-coverage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rang in the New Year</a> on the network by taking shots of non-alcoholic substances.
During a company town hall back in November, CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-cracks-down-on-drinking-during-new-years-eve-live-viewers-mourn-loss-of-hosts-on-air-antics" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-reader-unique-id="4">informed</a> staff that he would put a stop to much of the drinking that has usually been a hallmark of CNN’s New Year’s Eve programming.
At the time, it was believed that hosts like Anderson Cooper would be allowed to keep drinking, but anchors and correspondents like Don Lemon would be prohibited from drinking during the broadcast.
However, Cohen exclaimed during live television coverage, “We can’t drink!”
Cohen said that he had a pocket of edibles. “Will I take them? I don’t think so,” he said. “I don’t know. It’s a long night. This is a telethon with no disease. Do you understand? We’re here all night! Passing time!”
Cohen and Cooper instead took shots of non-alcoholic substances.
“What we are doing is we are taking a mystery shot!” Cohen said.
They took shots of pickle juice and buttermilk, Mediaite <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/tv/cnns-andy-cohen-anderson-cooper-address-the-new-years-eve-no-booze-rule-but-its-okay-theyre-drinking-something-else/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-reader-unique-id="15">reported</a>.

This year will be the first New Year’s Eve show overseen by Licht since he took over the network in February. During the meeting, Licht reportedly told staffers that drinking on-air eroded the presenters’ credibility and “respectability.”
Last year, the broadcast drew significant controversy when Lemon and Cohen both went on alcohol-fueled rants while on air. First, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-a-grown-a-man-kiss-my-behind-don-lemon-launches-self-pitying-rant-on-new-years-eve" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-reader-unique-id="47">Lemon ranted</a> to fellow host Alisyn Camerota and comedian Dulce Sloan about criticism he receives. “I don’t give a — what you think about me, what do you think about that?” Lemon said. “I’m a grown-a** man. I don’t care what you think about me.”
“I am who I am,” Lemon continued. “I’m a grown, successful black man who a lot of people hate because they’re not used to people seeing me — and people like me — in the position that I am. To be able to share what I … my point of view on television, it freaks people out. And you know what? You can kiss my behind. I do not care. I don’t care. I really don’t care. I have one life, and this is who I am, and I feel very, um … blessed and honored to be in this position to be able to do this. So all the hate I get? It’s motivation to me. Bring it. I don’t care.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Ryan Seacrest</a> just said he agrees with the idea of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cnn">CNN</a> limiting hosts&#8217; alcohol consumption during their New Year’s Eve broadcast.
The 48-year-old TV host told <a href="https://ew.com/tv/ryan-seacrest-dick-clark-new-years-rockin-eve/">Entertainment Weekly</a> that he was in favor of the rumored policy. &#8220;I don&#8217;t advocate drinking when one is on the air,&#8221; Seacrest told the publication. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know how that started as a tradition but it&#8217;s probably a good idea [to scale back], CNN.”
The “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve” host explained how he and other ABC employees won’t consume alcohol until after 1:05 a.m. Seacrest also said viewers likely wish <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-years">NYE</a> anchors would “drink more” purely for the entertainment value.  
&#8220;There&#8217;s some pretty respectable people or at least one, right?&#8221; Seacrest quipped about CNN&#8217;s “New Year&#8217;s Eve Live.” The show is co-hosted by Anderson Cooper and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/andy-cohen">Andy Cohen</a>. &#8220;I think there&#8217;s a serious journalist and then a friend of mine who has a lot of fun, but it&#8217;s probably a good idea.&#8221;
His statement comes after a widely publicized incident last year involving Cohen. The CNN host mocked Seacrest and ABC by saying, &#8220;If you look behind me, you&#8217;ll see Ryan Seacrest&#8217;s group of losers performing. I&#8217;m sorry but if you&#8217;re watching ABC, you&#8217;re watching nothing.&#8221;
Seacrest told EW that the CNN hosts &#8220;had something to say about my show at one point,&#8221; and that he doesn&#8217;t &#8220;think they would say what they said about our performers if they weren&#8217;t drinking.&#8221;
&#8220;I might send them some Casa Dragones Tequila just to tempt them while they&#8217;re on the air,&#8221; Seacrest told EW.
Cohen defended his rant later, saying, “I won’t be shamed for it. I had a blast. Anderson [Cooper] had a blast. We left and we were like ‘That was fun, what a fun New Year’s Eve.’”
While he did regret being mean to his “friend” Seacrest, Cohen also said he has no intention of abstaining from alcohol this year during the broadcast. &#8220;My only direction is to have fun,&#8221; Cohen told <a href="https://people.com/food/andy-cohen-new-years-eve-cnn-cocktail-it-up-despite-drink-limits/">People</a> last month of what to expect during New Year’s Eve. &#8220;That&#8217;s what I plan to do and I&#8217;m happy to cocktail it up.&#8221;
&#8220;I think people enjoy seeing me feed Anderson shots and that&#8217;s on the menu,&#8221; he continued.

Gay cable TV provocateur <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/andy-cohen-tells-florida-youre-not-going-to-erase-us-with-homophobic-bill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Andy Cohen</a> stunned <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hillary-clinton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hillary Clinton</a> Thursday, revealing to the former first lady that he had a fling with one of her Secret Service agents while she lived in the White House.
Cohen told the shocking secret as he interviewed Clinton, who later served as a U.S. senator and secretary of state, and daughter Chelsea on his “Watch What Happens Live” show on Bravo. The Clintons were there to promote their new show “Gutsy,” where they go around the country interviewing liberal female celebrities who they consider to be trailblazers of one sort or another.
“I do have to tell you, every time I see you, Secretary Clinton, I think I had a wonderful liaison with one of your Secret Service agents in the 90&#8217;s,” Cohen claimed. “While you were First Lady.”
A shocked Clinton’s eyes widened and she giggled.
“TMI,” Clinton said, using the slang term for “too much information.” “TMI.”

Clinton, now 74, lived in the White House with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, from 1993-2001. While the former president’s sordid sexual escapades during the period are well known, the claim that a Secret Service agent and a future famous TV host had a tryst stunned the pair. Cohen was likely an unknown producer at CBS at the time.
“You did?” gasped Chelsea Clinton, who would have been a teenager at the time.
Cohen said the unnamed Secret Service agent always “had wonderful things to say about the entire family,” but shared no specifics.
“And I have wonderful things to say about him,” Cohen quipped about his alleged White House conquest.
While it is possible Cohen’s story is true, the claim that the Secret Service agent praised her runs counter to her reputation. Ronald Kessler, a former Wall Street Journal and Washington Post reporter and author of the 2015 book “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/First-Family-Detail-Service-Presidents/dp/080413961X/ref=sr_1_1?tag=nypost-20&amp;asc_refurl=https://nypost.com/2015/10/02/secret-service-agents-hillary-is-a-nightmare-to-work-with/&amp;asc_source=web">First Family Detail</a>,” said Secret Service agents he interviewed liked Bill and Chelsea, but couldn’t stand Hillary Clinton.
“Agents consider being assigned to her detail a form of punishment,” Kessler wrote. “In fact, agents say being on Hillary Clinton’s detail is the worst duty assignment in the Secret Service.”
Lloyd Bulman, one of several former Secret Service agents Kessler quoted in his book, said Hillary Clinton&#8217;s contempt for the help was legendary.
“Hillary was very rude to agents, and she didn’t appear to like law enforcement or the military,” Bulman said. “She wouldn’t go over and meet military people or police officers, as most protectees do. She was just really rude to almost everybody. She’d act like she didn’t want you around, like you were beneath her.”

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/reality-tv" target="_blank" rel="noopener">star</a> Kathy Hilton is facing serious backlash for not recognizing the difference between pop star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lizzo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lizzo</a> and actress Gabourey Sidibe, who’s best known for starring in the movie &#8220;Precious.&#8221;
Hilton’s gaffe happened during a recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/entertainment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">episode</a> of “Watch What Happens Live” with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/andy-cohen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Andy Cohen</a>. The reality star was playing the game &#8220;Will! Kathy! Know Them?&#8221; which involved Hilton’s “RHOBH” co-star Crystal Kung Minkoff being asked if she thinks Hilton will recognize specific famous people. If Minkoff says yes, then Hilton is asked to identify them.
Upon encountering a photo of Lizzo, Hilton responded, &#8220;I feel like I do? Precious?&#8221;
Everyone erupted into laughter as Cohen replied with an emphatic “No” to her guess. Minkoff put her hand on her head in embarrassment then tried to deflect the situation by saying, &#8220;She is precious though, Lizzo is precious.&#8221;
Hilton also tried to recover. &#8220;That&#8217;s what I call her! Her nickname&#8217;s ‘Precious’ to me.&#8221;
Despite the silliness of the situation, social media fans didn’t go so easy on Hilton and even accused her of being racist for mistaking Lizzo for a different plus-sized black woman.
Meanwhile, some people came to the reality star’s defense, pointing out how she guesses incorrectly on that segment all the time. During the same game, Hilton also failed to recognize images of Dwayne Johnson and Justin Timberlake, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/humiliating-moment-kathy-hilton-mistakes-lizzo-precious-watch-what-happens-live-fans-disgusted">reported</a>.

Andy Cohen wasn’t the only host to get drunk on New Year’s Eve and spew some surprising statements while hosting, but the Bravo star stands by his tirade and makes “no apologies” for speaking his mind.
The 53-year-old talk show host was at the helm of CNN’s New Year’s Eve special and having a great time, but viewers were a little shocked to hear his candid comments, which included Cohen insulting former New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and fellow media personality Ryan Seacrest.
Cohen is not apologizing for having one too many on the holiday, however. The only comment he regretted was saying unflattering things about Seacrest. 
“I will not be shamed for having fun on New Year&#8217;s Eve,” Cohen <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10370139/Andy-Cohen-claims-drunken-NYE-rant-CNN-cheer-people-Betty-Whites-death.html">told</a> Howard Stern on Tuesday.
“Not only was it a middling year but it ended in a car crash of COVID and Betty White dying on the day of New Year&#8217;s Eve &#8211; who everyone loved &#8211; so it was like, ‘We gotta kick it into gear, we gotta have fun.’” 
The host said he had been “overserved” alcoholic beverages and was “stupid and drunk and feeling it.”
Cohen reiterated his lack of regret, saying, “I won&#8217;t be shamed for it. I had a blast. Anderson [Cooper] had a blast. We left and we were like &#8216;That was fun, what a fun New Year&#8217;s Eve.’”
But the Bravo star did say he regrets saying less-than-positive things about ABC and their host. 
“I really like Ryan Seacrest. He&#8217;s a really nice guy,” Cohen told Stern. “I was, as they say, in my cups and I was kind of enjoying the rant. I was like ‘Wow, it&#8217;s really fun being on CNN, just ranting like a nutty guy. This is fun.’ So I kept going and, that I felt bad about that, I felt bad and I texted Ryan the next morning.”
Cohen also wished he hadn’t told viewers he’d be returning next year, although it turns out that statement was true. 
“Towards the end of the de Blasio rant, I said something like ‘I have a feeling I&#8217;ll be here next year.’ And when I saw the clip, I was like ‘Dude, that&#8217;s the clip they&#8217;re gonna play when you get canceled this year,” he said. Cohen then explained that CNN already said he’d be back to host the NYE celebration at the end of the year.
Rumors swirled that CNN staffers weren’t happy with Cohen’s rant, especially what he said about de Blasio. While on air, the host let his true feelings show.
“Watching Mayor de Blasio do his victory-lap dance after four years of the crappiest term as the mayor of New York!” Cohen exclaimed as Cooper said, “Don’t go on a rant” and tried to stop what was coming. 
“The only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been. So, sayonara, sucka! 2022! It’s a new year, because guess what? I have a feeling I’m gonna be standing right here next year, and you know who I’m not going to be looking at dancing as the city comes apart? YOU!”
