The internet is going hard on CNN anchor Anderson Cooper for referring to a woman who prefers “they/them” pronouns as “she.”
The incident took place during a Bernie Sanders town hall event on Wednesday. Cooper introduced Democratic activist Grace Thomas by saying, “She’s a local civil rights attorney. She’s a Democrat.”
That inspired Thomas to reply, “It’s they/them pronouns, actually,” leading Cooper to respond with, “Oh.”
Thomas followed up by asking Cooper why the Democratic party is losing so many young male voters. Social media viewers were quick to suggest that the interaction between the activist and Cooper was a prime example of what’s going on.
“The best part is that right after scolding Anderson Cooper for not calling her ‘they,’ she asks a question about why Democrats are losing men,” one person <a href="https://x.com/evitaduffy_1/status/1910349774290551073">observed</a> on X.
“Anderson Cooper just misgendered a civil rights attorney,” another response <a href="https://x.com/GuntherEagleman/status/1910150077361856554">said</a>. “They are not serious. Keep on putting the pronoun police on camera, we will win every election.”
Former U.S. college swimmer Riley Gaines, who rose to national prominence by taking a stand against men infiltrating women’s sports, reacted by saying, “Calling for Anderson Cooper&#8217;s immediate resignation for believing what his eyes were telling him he saw. Bigot.”

President Donald Trump capitalized on the Democrats’ extreme stance on gender issues while campaigning ahead of the 2024 election. One of his most popular political advertisements included the line, “Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you.”
While many Democrats fully support radical left-wing gender theory, the majority of American voters have taken a much more reserved approach to the issue, and are largely opposed to the most extreme suggestions, such as the idea of providing life-altering drugs and surgeries to children and allowing trans-identifying biological males to compete against women in sports, the Pew Research Center <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2025/02/26/americans-have-grown-more-supportive-of-restrictions-for-trans-people-in-recent-years/">found</a>. 
Some prominent Democrats are backing off the most extreme stances, including California Governor Gavin Newsom (D), who is a potential presidential candidate in 2028. Newsom <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/profoundly-sickened-everyone-slams-newsoms-attempt-to-play-both-sides-on-trans-issue">told</a> Charlie Kirk during an interview last month that men in women’s sports is “an issue of fairness” that is “easy to call out.” 
Liberals blasted Newsom for backing down on the issue, while conservatives criticized him for trying to play both sides.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper, put on the defensive by former New Hampshire GOP Governor Chris Sununu after Copper repeatedly accused Elon Musk and DOGE of lacking transparency, called Sununu a “d*ck” on national television on Tuesday.
Sununu started by slamming Cooper, who repeatedly accused DOGE and Musk of not being transparent in their actions, saying, “It amounts to a series of press releases, which is not really the same as transparency &#8230; It&#8217;s not transparency, either. It&#8217;s a tweet. After reporters began doing profiles on some of those staffers.”
“I know what you&#8217;re not showing here,” Sununu stated. “Musk gave seven specific examples off the top of his head of where the corruption and fraud were. I know you didn&#8217;t you didn&#8217;t play the clips. He was talking about a contractor that had a three-month contract, he was paid for 20 years. He was talking about welfare benefits that were being paid to someone that was technically 150 years old. He was talking about line items in the Treasury that had no justification.”
“But we didn&#8217;t see any of that, there&#8217;s no any &#8212; like he doesn&#8217;t present any actual evidence,” Cooper protested.
“He&#8217;s standing there in the Oval Office. Do you expect him to come in with 10,000 pages?” Sununu fired back. “And I have to be clear: To complain about this administration about transparency when this president takes open questions on a daily basis, yet Joe Biden didn&#8217;t show up for a press conference &#8212; six months is insane.”
“These guys are being extremely transparent. They don&#8217;t have to sit there and take the questions, but they do. It&#8217;s all on the website. It&#8217;s all out there,” he added.
Famous Zoomer and former federal prosecutor Jeffrey Toobin, who was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jeffrey-toobin-fired-from-new-yorker-following-investigation-into-lewd-act-on-zoom-call">reportedly caught masturbating</a> on a business Zoom call, accused, “It&#8217;s not transparency to say things that have no factual background. I mean to say we&#8217;re cutting &#8212; you know, we&#8217;ve found $1 billion or $1 trillion in waste with no specifics. That&#8217;s just talk, that&#8217;s not transparency.”
“It is 23 days in here, guys, 23 days,” Sununu replied. “You&#8217;re talking about $2.3 billion that was saved last year. These guys are saving $2.3 billion a day. That&#8217;s incredible.”
“That&#8217;s what they&#8217;re saying. But where&#8217;s the proof?” Toobin demanded.
“You&#8217;re waiting &#8212; you&#8217;re not going to be satisfied until he shows up with 10,000 pages?” Sununu said incredulously.
“He&#8217;s giving very specific things, but he&#8217;s not actually giving any evidence of that,” Cooper said loftily.
“It&#8217;s all going to come because what they also said was, if we have to go to Congress, we will go to Congress,” Sununu explained.
“But where are some of the details that have come out like the, you know, $59 million spent on luxury hotels. It&#8217;s actually not –” Cooper taunted.
“You&#8217;re talking about the FEMA money that was used for migrants? That was FEMA money for migrants. That&#8217;s okay now?” Sununu questioned.
“No, I&#8217;m not saying it&#8217;s okay. I&#8217;m not saying it&#8217;s okay. Don&#8217;t put words in my mouth,” Cooper snapped.
“So, would you stop that? Would you stop that process?” Sununu asked.
“Don&#8217;t be a d*ck,” Cooper responded.
At the end of the segment, Cooper apologized, saying, &#8220;Before we go, I want to apologize. I was mean; I was rude to you.&#8221;

The story comes just as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/your-story-is-horsesh-hegseths-colleagues-fiercely-defend-him-after-nbc-news-attack" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBC News</a> ran a hit piece — citing a number of anonymous sources, but apparently not bothering to speak to his former cohosts and colleagues at Fox News — accusing Hegseth of drinking to excess on a regular basis.

Vice President Kamala Harris said during a CNN town hall on Wednesday night that the Biden-Harris administration did &#8220;the right thing&#8221; by allowing millions of illegal aliens to pour across America&#8217;s borders.
The shocking admission came when host Anderson Cooper highlighted the numerous border initiatives that the administration failed to secure, including an immigration bill that they failed to pass when Democrats controlled the House and Senate during the administration&#8217;s first two years in office.
At the start of this summer, the administration implemented an executive order that provided some alleviation to the crisis on the southern border.
&#8220;Why didn&#8217;t your administration do that in 2022, 2023?&#8221; Cooper asked.
&#8220;First of all, you&#8217;re exactly right, Anderson, and as of today, we have cut the flow of immigration by over half,&#8221; Harris claimed without acknowledging that a lot of the supposed reduction that has happened has come from illegal aliens claiming asylum through the administration&#8217;s CBP One app.
&#8220;But if it was that easy with that executive action, why not do it 2022, 2023?? Cooper pressed.

Cooper again pressed Harris: &#8220;You couldn&#8217;t have done both at the same time?&#8221;
Harris responded by claiming that Congress was really at fault for the administration&#8217;s border crisis.
&#8220;Do you wish you&#8217;d done those executive orders in 2022, 2023?&#8221; Cooper asked.
Harris responded: &#8220;I think we did the right thing.&#8221;

This week, CNN chief national security analyst Jim Sciutto claimed that billionaire Elon Musk’s conversation with former president Donald Trump was “not an interview” because Musk has endorsed Trump and donated to his campaign.

But Musk didn’t promote his discussion with Trump as an interview, explicitly saying that he simply wanted a free-wheeling conversation. When pressed on how this definition could be used against CNN, Sciutto claimed that he and his colleagues “ask hard questions of both parties.”
That remains to be seen. <a href="https://ballotpedia.org/Fact_check/Do_97_percent_of_journalist_donations_go_to_Democrats">Multiple studies</a> have shown that journalists who donate to political causes and politicians are far more likely to donate to Democrats. This bias is evident in the ranks of mainstream media outlets. For example, CNN anchor and pundit John Avlon is <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/ex-cnn-pundit-john-avlon-who-spent-years-bashing-trump-seeks-congressional-seat-in-district-that-support-him" target="_blank" rel="noopener">currently running</a> as a Democrat in New York&#8217;s 1st Congressional District. MSNBC&#8217;s Alicia Menendez is the daughter of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/convicted-senator-bob-menendez-will-resign-effective-august-20-reports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted felon</a> and soon-to-be former Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ). NBC News briefly <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/14/business/media/chelsea-clinton-hired-by-nbc-news.html">hired</a> Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, as a correspondent in 2011.

A Daily Wire review of FEC records found no evidence that CNN anchors who have interviewed Trump have donated to Democrats – at least not to any organization that requires public reporting of such donations. But their treatment of the former president is essentially a de facto endorsement of his opponents.

Tapper, who began his career working for Democratic Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky (now Chelsea Clinton&#8217;s mother-in-law), has used language <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnns-debate-moderators-dont-expect-fairness">comparing</a> Trump to Hitler.
In December 2023, Tapper said, “Trump, a couple of times over the weekend, referred to immigrants from South America, Africa, and Asia, he did not mention Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia as ‘poisoning the blood of our country,’ which if it’s not hyperbole, that does very directly echo Adolf Hitler’s language before World War II, before the Holocaust.”

As The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnns-debate-moderators-dont-expect-fairness">pointed out</a> in June, Tapper and fellow CNN host Dana Bash had the following exchange after the first debate between Trump and Biden in 2020:

Dana Bash&#8217;s ex-husband, Jeremy Bash, gave hundreds to Democrat candidates and organizations during their marriage. After Biden’s 2024 State of the Union speech, Bash praised Biden, “They wanted him to be a fighter, and, boy, a fight did he deliver.”
Just this week, Bash <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnns-dana-bash-slammed-for-lying-about-remarks-made-by-trump-musk-during-their-talk">was caught lying</a> about what billionaire Elon Musk and Trump discussed on X. Bash played a deceptively edited clip giving the implication that Musk and Trump simply said bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki wasn’t bad, when they were discussing that in the larger context of nuclear power and its benefits and dangers.
Sen. J.D. Vance <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jd-vance-shreds-left-wing-cnn-host-dana-bash-for-defending-tim-walz">recently called out</a> Bash for defending Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, after it was shown he has been misleading people about his military service.
Bash also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-anchor-dana-bash-raves-over-bidens-mic-drop-moment-on-hostage-release-but-its-a-lie">complimented</a> a response from Biden that proved to be false. When four hostages were released from Russia in August, a reporter asked Biden about Trump’s claim that he would get the hostages released if he was elected in November, to which Biden asked why Trump didn’t get the hostages out when he was president. Bash commented: “I think that was what they call a ‘mic drop’ moment.”
Only one of those hostages had been taken during Trump’s administration.
Anderson Cooper
Cooper’s on-air commentary also skews toward Democrats, like his 2020 <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/brian-stelter-claims-cnn-would-never-air-an-incendiary-phrase-that-anderson-cooper-used-thursday">comment</a> that the Trump re-election campaign was “like a clown car on fire.”
Cooper also has criticized Trump’s selection of Vance as his running mate, asking a guest in July if he thought the Trump campaign was “having any buyer’s remorse,” after the media reshared old videos of Vance’s comments.
Cooper has not asked such a question following Harris’ selection of Walz as her running mate.
Cooper has also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/anderson-cooper-compares-capitol-hill-riot-to-800000-murdered-in-rwanda?%3Futm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=dwtwitter">compared</a> the January 6 Capitol Hill riots to the Rwandan genocide, which saw 800,000 people murdered.
“Part of it, I think, just based on what you were just saying, it comes to mind, the idea of otherizing people is something I think we saw a lot of over the last four years. I mean, certainly we’ve seen a lot over the last decades, but it’s so easy to otherize people, to make people other than, other than American, other than patriotic, other than human,” Cooper said in February 2021. “You know, and we’ve seen it in Bosnia, we’ve seen it in Rwanda, where radio was telling people that you know, Hutus, were telling the radio listeners that Tutsi were cockroaches for you know, getting them ginned up for genocide.”

Stephanopoulos, ABC&#8217;s top political anchor, came under fire in 2015 after it was discovered that he failed to disclose a $75,000 donation to the Clinton Foundation. Stephanopoulos, who previously worked as President Bill Clinton&#8217;s White House communications director and senior advisor, had a long history of supporting Democrats and undermining Republicans. In 2024, he said it was &#8220;<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/abcs-stephanopoulos-claims-airing-trump-interviews-live-journalistic-malpractice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">journalistic malpractice</a>&#8221; to air live television interviews with Trump, even though he&#8217;s currently running for president. Trump is also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-sues-george-stephanopoulos-abc-news-after-host-said-former-president-was-found-liable-for-rape" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suing</a> Stephanopoulos for defamation after the anchor falsely claimed Trump had been found &#8220;liable for rape.&#8221;

Former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bill-clinton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Clinton administration</a> official David Gergen, now a political analyst at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cnn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a>, warned late this week that Biden was in for a nightmare over the classified document scandal.
When asked by network opinion host Anderson Cooper how big of a mess Biden was in, Gergen responded, &#8220;It&#8217;s very, very big.&#8221;
&#8220;Not legally, but politically,&#8221; Gergen claimed. &#8220;It&#8217;s a very, very big deal.&#8221;
Gergen&#8217;s claim may not be entirely accurate, as Attorney General Merrick Garland announced last week that he appointed a special counsel to oversee the federal investigation into the scandal.
&#8220;I do think that they, that the Biden people, they may be making a big mistake,&#8221; Gergen said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think sitting there, hunkering down now, you&#8217;re just acting like it&#8217;s not out there &#8230; they&#8217;re going to get creamed doing that.&#8221;
Gergen said that the way the Biden administration has handled the matter is going to lead the American public to ask the question, &#8220;What are they hiding?&#8221;

<blockquote>ANDERSON COOPER, CNN HOST: Want to talk about the political fallout, which could be considerable, and unwelcome to the administration, certainly, coming, as Phil Mattingly mentioned, with inflation cooling, and gas prices dropping, and the President&#8217;s approval numbers growing, in the polls, at least before this.
Joining us is CNN Senior Political Analyst, David Gergen, White House insider, for Democrats and Republicans alike, dating back to the Nixon years; also CNN Political Commentator, and former Pennsylvania Republican congressman, Charlie Dent; and CNN Political Analyst, Jackie Kucinich. She&#8217;s Washington Bureau Chief for The Boston Globe.
David Gergen, let&#8217;s start with you. How big a mess is this for the Biden administration?
DAVID GERGEN, FORMER PRESIDENTIAL ADVISER TO NIXON, FORD, REAGAN &amp; CLINTON, CNN SENIOR POLITICAL ANALYST, AUTHOR, &#8220;HEARTS TOUCHED WITH FIRE: HOW GREAT LEADERS ARE MADE&#8221;: It&#8217;s very, very big. Not legally, but politically, it&#8217;s a very, very big deal.
This is a President who was marching upward. For the first time in his presidency, he&#8217;s got his numbers up, people are feeling better about the economy, for all sorts of reasons, to believe that he can now present himself — the fears that people like me have, about how old is he and can he govern well. Those fears will be dissipated if he were able to stay on that track.
But now, along comes this gigantic story, which was totally unexpected, and it&#8217;s knocked that — the knock for six&#8211;
COOPER: Yes.
GERGEN: &#8211;the original plan, now.
But I do think that they, that the Biden people, they may be making a big mistake, Anderson. I may be wrong about this. I think they&#8217;ve done a wonderful job being cooperative with the government, and they&#8217;ve done it, quote, by the book, as they were saying.
But I don&#8217;t think sitting there, hunkering down now, just acting like it&#8217;s not out there, is a good strategy. They’re going to get creamed doing that.
COOPER: There&#8217;s also been the drip, drip, drip of information.
GERGEN: Yes.
COOPER: Some of that unpreventable because they didn&#8217;t know a Special Counsel was coming.
GERGEN: Yes.
COOPER: But they did know when they had the President talk about the first batch of documents that were found&#8211;
GERGEN: Yes.
COOPER: &#8211;they had already known that there were other documents found.
GERGEN: Yes.
COOPER: You would think they might have just jumped — announced that all at once?
GERGEN: Exactly. That&#8217;s why they could have put that out there.
COOPER: Right.
GERGEN: And as matters now stand, that long delay in putting it out there is going to encourage people to believe, well what are they hiding?
COOPER: Yes.
GERGEN: And that&#8217;s where they — there&#8217;s a temptation in every one of these kinds of crises, to hunker down. And it&#8217;s the wrong temptation. It&#8217;s the wrong temptation to listen to — look to — you going all the way back to Iran/Contra, and other kind of crises, like that. You&#8217;ve just got to get the facts out.
COOPER: Yes.
GERGEN: &#8220;These are the facts we know. There&#8217;s some facts we don&#8217;t know. And we&#8217;ll keep you posted.&#8221;
COOPER: Jackie, do you think this largely takes away the White House&#8217;s ability to criticize former President Trump&#8217;s handling of classified documents? Obviously, yes, big differences between the two.
JACKIE KUCINICH, CNN POLITICAL ANALYST, WASHINGTON BUREAU CHIEF, THE BOSTON GLOBE: Yes.
COOPER: But how often does nuance breakthrough in political discourse, these days? I mean, rarely.
KUCINICH: Well, yes. And that&#8217;s the thing, right? This definitely muddies the waters in a way that, I think, Republicans are elated about.
I mean, going into, particularly on the House Republican majority, there was a perception, particularly among Democrats, that a lot of these investigations were going to be essentially fishing expeditions. Well, because of this, they were thrown a fish, and they&#8217;re actually able to grab onto something. And this, it does mute the ability to criticize President Trump in the — former President Trump in the same way.
And let&#8217;s be clear, this isn&#8217;t happening in a vacuum. We all kind of expect Biden to announce his plans for the coming presidential election in short order. We think it&#8217;s the beginning of this year. So, does this affect — I think there&#8217;s a real question about that. Does this affect, on that timing, should this continue, in the weeks and months to come?
COOPER: Congressman Dent, as we reported, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan is launching this investigation into the DOJ. Should the Biden administration be concerned about Republican oversight on this?
CHARLIE DENT, (R) FORMER U.S. REPRESENTATIVE &#8211; PENNSYLVANIA, CNN POLITICAL COMMENTATOR: Absolutely, they should, because Jim Jordan must be absolutely giddy and salivating over this. I mean, politically, as just discussed, the waters have been muddied, even though there are real differences between the two cases.
But, Joe Biden, he ran for president on being competent. This looks like he was careless, and reckless, or his people were. I mean, for him to go out there and say that — well, first, bad news does not get better with time. The fact that they&#8217;re releasing this out in bits and pieces, &#8220;Oh, yes, we found some, by the Corvette, locked in the garage.” I mean, this is really not helping his case.
And plus, now that there is a Special Counsel appointed, again, that&#8217;s just more reasons for the Republicans to picket them. What they&#8217;ll find out? I have no idea. But, as a political matter, I think Republicans are thrilled because this really diverts attention away from many of their own problems. And so, they should be — they&#8217;re in a much better position than they were one week ago.
COOPER: I mean, David, I guess, Republicans, is there a Catch 22, for them? I mean, if they cry foul about this, about the mishandling by the Biden administration, wouldn&#8217;t that also put attention on President Trump&#8217;s handling?
GERGEN: Yes, I think they&#8217;ve gotten a little overheated here in the last few days in their criticism. And I do think they are the ones who want to step back and let the story be told by others.
But among other things, right now, Anderson, when you&#8217;re in one of these situations in the White House, you’ve got your team, your party is out, in the Congress and elsewhere, and you need to feed them things that they can use to defend you with. And the Biden people are not providing them the handles, the arguments, the counterarguments.
One of the things, for example, that has taken some of the sting off this, to me, is what we&#8217;ve experienced in recent years, is we&#8217;ve had an explosion in the number of documents that are classified now.
COOPER: Right, there&#8217;s over-classification.
GERGEN: Over-classification. Pat Moynihan, 15 years ago, headed up a bipartisan commission to look at secrecy. And what he found was there were 2 million people in the federal government who could slap classifications on documents. And there were 1 million people in private industry who had the capacity to put&#8211;
COOPER: It&#8217;s a lot.
GERGEN: &#8211;classifications on documents. And so, naturally, things just took off. And it made people, inside the government, increasingly complacent. And what you&#8217;re seeing, I think, and have — finding these, some of these documents, on a garage, for God&#8217;s sakes, is a sloppiness, a massive sloppiness&#8211;
COOPER: Yes.
GERGEN: &#8211;on people who don&#8217;t understand these. And actually, this is quite sensitive.
COOPER: Yes.
GERGEN: We should take this seriously. But they&#8217;ve been engulfed by a lot of this other stuff where, as Jim Sciutto was saying earlier today, on your — on this channel, he said, basically, you used to have a sandwich down, for lunch, and then you put a stamp out, again, begin putting the classification on it.
COOPER: Yes. Jackie, I mean, you&#8217;d mentioned this before. But, I mean, do you really think it potentially impacts Biden&#8217;s expected announcement for running?
KUCINICH: I don&#8217;t know. I don&#8217;t know, Anderson. I think it really depends. I mean, I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s going to impact his decision whether or not to run certainly.
But we were going into this year, as Phil Mattingly mentioned, you had tagging on to the Senate. Republicans were in complete disarray, fighting amongst themselves.
You had the economy getting better. You had Biden touting the achievements from last year. And this really has kind of hit a wall, as a result of these revelations about these documents. So certainly, it dampens the momentum that this White House had, potentially going into a future announcement.
COOPER: And Congressman Dent, I mean, Senator Chris Coons, the Democrat from Delaware, obviously a big Biden ally, he was arguing that voters don&#8217;t care about the President&#8217;s handling of classified documents, that they&#8217;re more concerned about gas prices, grocery prices.
That&#8217;s essentially the same arguments Republicans were always making in the lead up to the midterm elections, and about stuff on Russia.
Do you think Coons is right?
DENT: Yes, Chris Coons is a good friend. And I think he is generally right on this question. But again, but if you&#8217;re Joe Biden, you really don&#8217;t want this issue around. The Special Counsel, sniffing around, nothing good will come of it.
And it&#8217;s true. Biden&#8217;s had good news. And Chris Coons is probably right that this is not the primary focus of voters.
But still, not a great issue, because it really speaks to a carelessness, and a recklessness, where Joe Biden has done his best to contrast himself with Donald Trump, who was always very careless, and reckless on many matters. And it just kind of undermines his whole argument.
But, at the end of the day, you&#8217;re right, or Chris Coons is right, that most voters are concerned about the prices of groceries, and gasoline, and everything else they&#8217;re dealing with.
COOPER: Yes.
DENT: Housing and whatnot.
COOPER: Yes. Charlie Dent, David Gergen, Jackie Kucinich, appreciate it. Thank you.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/prince-harry">Prince Harry</a> is currently doing a press tour in anticipation of his memoir release on Tuesday, most recently sitting down with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/anderson-cooper">Anderson Cooper</a> on “60 Minutes” in an interview broadcast Sunday night to defend the book’s existence.
The Duke of Sussex has been at odds with the British press for years, but in more recent months he’s shifted some of the blame for his troubles to members of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/royal-family">his own family,</a> including King Charles, Prince William, and now stepmother Camilla, the Queen Consort. Harry insists that he’s been forced to speak out in defense of himself and his wife, Meghan Markle. 
In “Spare,” the 38-year-old former working royal said that Camilla needed to revamp her public image and did so at his expense.
&#8220;She was the villain. She was the third person in their marriage,&#8221; Harry told Cooper of his stepmother. &#8220;She needed to rehabilitate her image.&#8221;
&#8220;You and your brother both directly asked your dad not to marry Camilla?&#8221; Cooper asked.
&#8220;Yes,&#8221; Harry replied. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t think it was necessary. We thought that it was gonna cause more harm than good and that if he was now with his person, that surely that&#8217;s enough,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Why go that far when you don&#8217;t necessarily need to? We wanted him to be happy. And we saw how happy he was with her. So, at the time, it was, &#8216;OK.'&#8221;
&#8220;That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press. And there was open willingness on both sides to trade of information,&#8221; the Duke of Sussex continued. &#8220;And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that.&#8221;
In “Spare,” he wrote that Camilla &#8220;sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar.&#8221;
&#8220;If you are led to believe, as a member of the family, that being on the front page, having positive headlines, positive stories written about you, is going to improve your reputation or increase the chances of you being accepted as monarch by the British public, then that’s what you&#8217;re gonna do,&#8221; Harry added in his interview with Cooper.
During the interview, he said he was one of the “bodies” sacrificed to improve her reputation. It took decades for the public to accept Camilla as Charles’s wife as he had cheated on Princess Diana with her. 
Harry also mentioned the British royal family “trading” stories during the Netflix docuseries “Harry &amp; Meghan” when he discussed how royals would share secrets about different family members to avoid stories about themselves getting published. 
“The level of planting from other members of the Royal Family means in my mind they have written thousands of books,” he told Tom Bradbury during an <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/01/prince-harry-spare-itv-interview-prince-william-meghan-markle-1235214256/">ITV interview</a>, which also aired on Sunday night. “It got to the point where we had to leave. The distorted narrative is that we wanted to leave to make money but that’s not the case, we would have stayed for a life of service.”
He went on to describe how “some members of the Royal Family who have got in bed with the devil,” which in this case was the British media. 
When the Duke of Sussex was asked if he was “pretty consistently scathing” about Camilla and the British press, Harry said, “Scathing? There’s no part of any of the things that I’ve said are scathing towards any member of my family, especially not my stepmother. There are things that have happened that have been incredibly hurtful, some in the past, some current.”
Prince Harry&#8217;s highly anticipated memoir, &#8220;Spare,&#8221; will be available on January 10.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/prince-harry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prince Harry</a> is defending himself going public with allegations against the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/royal-family" target="_blank" rel="noopener">royal family</a> ahead of his book release this month.
The 38-year-old British royal family member sat down with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/anderson-cooper" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anderson Cooper</a> for an interview with “60 Minutes” that will air on Sunday, January 8. Harry said he tried to keep conversations and family drama private, but claims that, ultimately, he was forced to go public to protect his reputation. 
&#8220;Every single time I&#8217;ve tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife,&#8221; Harry <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/video/prince-harry-tells-60-minutes-about-his-decision-to-speak-publicly-60-minutes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Cooper. &#8220;You know, the family motto is never complain, never explain, but it&#8217;s just a motto.&#8221;
&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of complaining and a lot of explaining … being done through leaks,” Cooper replied.
“They will feed or have a conversation with the correspondent,&#8221; the Duke of Sussex went on. &#8220;And that correspondent will literally be spoon-fed information and write the story. And at the bottom of it they will say that they&#8217;ve reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.”
“But the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting. So when we&#8217;re being told for the last six years, &#8216;We can&#8217;t put a statement out to protect you.&#8217; But you do it for other members of the family. It becomes — there becomes a point when silence is betrayal,” Harry said.
The former working royal’s highly anticipated memoir, “Spare,” will be available on January 10. 
Harry and his wife, former actress Meghan Markle, said they left their jobs as working royals in 2020 to pursue a more private life after claiming the British press was harassing them. After this, they moved to California and later inked a deal with Netflix.
The limited series “Harry &amp; Meghan” was another attempt to justify their actions and explain themselves, but it earned <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/critics-slam-harry-meghan-as-a-deeply-tedious-wallow-in-narcissism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mixed reviews</a> from fans and critics. 
“So far, this is a well-filmed, comprehensive and deeply tedious wallow in narcissism,” a review from The Spectator said of the series. “The kindest thing that you can say is that the couple seem very much in love, although the levels of artifice involved here make such a judgment tricky.”
“What I mainly took away was the sense of a couple so in love with themselves that they had lost any semblance of self-awareness,” a Times reviewer shared.
Now royal followers are eager to see what Prince Harry will say in his memoir, which is rumored to be especially brutal toward Harry’s older brother, Prince William.

CNN&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/anderson-cooper" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anderson Cooper</a> and Andy Cohen rang in the New Year on the network by taking shots of non-alcoholic substances.
During a company town hall back in November, CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-cracks-down-on-drinking-during-new-years-eve-live-viewers-mourn-loss-of-hosts-on-air-antics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">informed</a> staff that he would put a stop to much of the drinking that has usually been a hallmark of CNN’s New Year’s Eve programming.
At the time, it was believed that hosts like Anderson Cooper would be allowed to keep drinking, but anchors and correspondents like Don Lemon would be prohibited from drinking during the broadcast.
However, Cohen exclaimed during live television coverage, “We can’t drink!”
Cohen said that he had a pocket of edibles. “Will I take them? I don’t think so,” he said. “I don’t know. It’s a long night. This is a telethon with no disease. Do you understand? We’re here all night! Passing time!”
Cohen and Cooper instead took shots of non-alcoholic substances.
“What we are doing is we are taking a mystery shot!” Cohen said.
They took shots of pickle juice and buttermilk, Mediaite <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/tv/cnns-andy-cohen-anderson-cooper-address-the-new-years-eve-no-booze-rule-but-its-okay-theyre-drinking-something-else/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

This year will be the first New Year’s Eve show overseen by Licht since he took over the network in February. During the meeting, Licht reportedly told staffers that drinking on-air eroded the presenters’ credibility and “respectability.”
Last year, the broadcast drew significant controversy when Lemon and Cohen both went on alcohol-fueled rants while on air. First, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-a-grown-a-man-kiss-my-behind-don-lemon-launches-self-pitying-rant-on-new-years-eve" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lemon ranted</a> to fellow host Alisyn Camerota and comedian Dulce Sloan about criticism he receives. “I don’t give a — what you think about me, what do you think about that?” Lemon said. “I’m a grown-a** man. I don’t care what you think about me.”
“I am who I am,” Lemon continued. “I’m a grown, successful black man who a lot of people hate because they’re not used to people seeing me — and people like me — in the position that I am. To be able to share what I … my point of view on television, it freaks people out. And you know what? You can kiss my behind. I do not care. I don’t care. I really don’t care. I have one life, and this is who I am, and I feel very, um … blessed and honored to be in this position to be able to do this. So all the hate I get? It’s motivation to me. Bring it. I don’t care.”
Then <a href="https://ew.com/tv/andy-cohen-regret-new-years-eve-rant/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cohen</a> fired a shot at ABC’s annual New Year’s Eve program, which could be seen from the CNN broadcast. “If you look behind me, you’ll see Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers performing,” Cohen said. “I’m sorry, but if you’re watching ABC, you’re watching nothing.”

TV host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/piers-morgan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Piers Morgan</a> said this week that he was backstabbed by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cnn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/anderson-cooper" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anderson Cooper</a> during his tenure at CNN, adding that the network is &#8220;a lot less friendly&#8221; than Fox News.
“I gotta say, and this, you know, people can believe this or not, but I find it a very friendly collegiate place to work,&#8221; Morgan <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/podcasts/piers-morgan-alleges-anderson-cooper-backstabbed-him-during-his-time-at-cnn/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> of Fox News during Monday&#8217;s <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/piers-morgan-on-murdoch-musk-and-yes-meghan-markle/id1643307527?i=1000590605096" target="_blank" rel="noopener">episode</a> of &#8220;On Air with Kara Swisher.&#8221; &#8220;Everyone’s very nice.&#8221;
&#8220;When I was at CNN, it could be a lot less friendly than Fox,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;A lot more back biting, a lot more backstabbing, actually, in some cases — don’t wanna mention names, but Anderson Cooper knows where he is. And I found that Fox — I found that Fox is a different atmosphere by contrast.&#8221;
Morgan didn&#8217;t elaborate on the ordeal but went on to comment on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;fascinating&#8221; changes.
“The way — if you look at how networks have changed, what happened at CNN in the last few years was fascinating,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You know, they went from being a completely nonpartisan, impartial, non-political network to an outright open Trump bashing entity.&#8221;
CNN&#8217;s anti-Trump refrains did not seem to pay off for the network, which has been through numerous shakeups in the last year.
Most notably, the network&#8217;s streaming platform CNN+ lasted only about a month before it was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/warner-bros-discovery-is-shutting-down-cnn-after-new-streaming-service-struggled-to-attract-viewers-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dissolved</a> in April of this year.
A CNBC <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnns-new-subscription-streaming-service-craters-after-launch-big-cuts-coming-reports">report</a> said the service was garnering fewer than 10,000 viewers on a daily basis and was only able to capture around 150,000 subscribers — a far cry from the two million subscribers CNN hoped to snag.
CNN CEO Chris Licht has also let go of high-profile journalists, columnists, and contributors such as Brian Stelter, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cnn-white-house-correspondent-john-harwood-out-at-network" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Harwood</a>, Jeffrey Toobin, and Chris Cillizza, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/uninformed-vitriol-cnn-boss-chris-licht-swings-at-the-left-over-stunning-reaction-to-his-reforms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> reported.
The network&#8217;s boss shuffled CNN’s lineup, too. He moved host Don Lemon out of a prime-time slot and into a morning show with two other co-hosts. Licht attempted to move host Jake Tapper into former host Chris Cuomo’s prime-time slot, but Tapper’s tenure there proved to be short-lived. Cuomo had been let go by the network months earlier after an internal investigation reportedly concluded that the host had inappropriately attempted to help his brother, Andrew Cuomo, as the former New York governor was mired in scandal.
Stephen Gutowski, Second Amendment expert and founder of firearms reporting site The Reload, has been brought on as a contributor under Licht&#8217;s tenure.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said during a new interview that aired this week that the recent attack on her husband, Paul Pelosi, would impact her decision about whether she will retire from Congress if Democrats lose control of the House of Representatives after Tuesday&#8217;s midterm elections.
Pelosi made the remarks during a CNN interview with Anderson Cooper on Monday when she was asked if she would retire if Democrats lose control of the House.
&#8220;Well, I have to say my decision will be affected about what happened the last week or two,&#8221; Pelosi said. &#8220;And it will impacted by – well, I – let me just say this: I have been blessed by my colleagues. As Whip first, then Leader, and then Speaker of the House for four terms. That&#8217;s a great honor. Greatest honor I have, though, is to represent the people of San Francisco. To walk on the Floor of the House – every time I walk on, I think, ‘They chose me to be the one to speak for them.’&#8221;
&#8220;Imagine, I only thought I was coming for ten years at the most,&#8221; she said. &#8220;If that. And here I am. I never expected to run. I never expected to run for leadership. But people encouraged me to run, and then people go to run for leadership. And here I am.&#8221;
&#8220;But this institution is a great institution. My father served here, and I had great reverence for it. I was taught that as a little girl,&#8221; Pelosi continued. &#8220;And then when he was Mayor, of course, he always referenced his service in Congress. It’s a place where great things have happened for our country. To see the assault on January 6th on this Capitol was something that was so devastating and traumatic for many of us. Some of my Members who are calling me about their races now, and understanding the trauma we&#8217;re experiencing again with Paul – we&#8217;re revisiting the trauma they felt that day on January 6th, having the same root, disinformation and the rest.&#8221;

<blockquote>ANDERSON COOPER: The assailant has told the police, it’s in a sworn affidavit that he wanted to take you hostage, interrogate you, break your kneecaps with a hammer if you didn&#8217;t give him the answers that he wanted.
NANCY PELOSI: For me, this is really the hard part because Paul was not the target. And he&#8217;s the one who&#8217;s paying the price, I mean we all are, but he&#8217;s the one who&#8217;s really paying the price. But it really – it’s really sad, because it is a flame that was fueled by misinformation and all the rest of that, which is most unfortunate. It shouldn&#8217;t – it has no place in our democracy.
COOPER: President Biden drew a line between what happened January 6th and the attack on your husband. The President said, and I quote, ‘The assailant entered the home asking, ‘Where&#8217;s Nancy, where’s Nancy?’ – those were the very same words used by the mob when they stormed the United States Capitol on January 6th.’
PELOSI: That’s right. That’s right.
COOPER: Do you draw that same line?
PELOSI: Absolutely. There’s no question. It&#8217;s the same. The same thing. A copycat or whatever it happens to be inflamed by the same misrepresentation.
But the fact is, right now, it&#8217;s time for healing. We want the country to heal. This is not a path that we can continue on. And we want people to run for office, local, in every way. And you can’t say to them you’re risking the safety of your families by going forward. There are no guarantees of safety.
I&#8217;m very pleased that in August we were able to reach a place where the Sergeant-at-Arms informed the Members of the House of an amount of money that they would have – $10,000 to – and have the Capitol Police come and evaluate what their needs were to make their homes safer, because there was a recognition when we’re gone, our families are home and, you know, that’s scary or even if we are home, but so we recognize that. It was figured that that amount of money could do what it needed to do in homes.
COOPER: But I mean, you have a large security detail, you have great protection around you.
PELOSI: Right.
COOPER: If this can happen to someone in your family, it can happen to any Member of Congress&#8217;s family.
PELOSI: That’s right.
COOPER: How does – no amount of security is going to stop that. How does this stop? How does this not happen again?
PELOSI: Well you would think that there would be some level of responsibility. But what – you see what the reaction is on the other side to this, to make a joke of it. And really, that is traumatizing too, but nonetheless, forgetting them. There has to be some healing process. And Democrats and Republicans, you know, Member of Congress, anybody could be a target. And we can&#8217;t – there&#8217;s no guarantee. But we can – in our democracy, there is one party that is doubting the outcome of the election, feeding that flame and mocking in the violence that happens. That has to stop.
COOPER: The former President of the United States Donald Trump, Elon Musk, others have spread stories casting doubt on what happened, fomenting conspiracy theories. What do you have to say to them?
PELOSI: It&#8217;s really sad for the country. It&#8217;s really sad for the country that people of that high visibility would separate themselves from the facts and the truth in such a blatant way. It&#8217;s really sad, and it is traumatizing to those affected by it. They don&#8217;t care about that, obviously, but it’s destructive to the unity that we want to have in our country. But I don&#8217;t have anything to say to them. I mean, we have nothing, there would be no common ground to have any conversation with them.
COOPER: Is there enough common ground as Americans to try to bridge this divide and lower the temperature?
PELOSI: Yes.
COOPER: Because, I mean, I think people on all sides would agree that it does not seem sustainable.
PELOSI: No, I completely agree with you. But I wouldn&#8217;t say on all sides. Because the fact is, this is a one-sided assault on our democracy, an assault on the credibility and integrity of our elections and the rest. There has to be some adult supervision on the Republican side, in order to say enough. Enough. But why not? We need a strong Republican Party in our country. I&#8217;ve said that over and over again.
COOPER: You want a strong Republican Party?
PELOSI: Absolutely. GOP – a strong Republican Party has done great things for our country. And they should take pride in that instead of yielding to a cult – to a thug, actually, the way I see it, but nonetheless, really to stay with the healing part of it. I think that prayers, I mean, we have been receiving so many prayers, thousands of well wishers with prayers for Paul&#8217;s healing. And I think prayers are a unifying force. I also think that there are enough people who, while they may not legitimately be Republicans and I respect that are not a party to feeding flame of violence and disunity in our country.
Let me just say that it&#8217;s about time, you know, it’s a time for healing, as Ecclesiastes says. It’s – Ecclesiastes says it’s time – there’s a time for everything. And this is a time long overdue for healing, to do so in a prayerful and respectful way, to do so open to hearing each other, about the future of our country. I do believe that our democracy is in danger because of what the others are saying about undermining elections even now as we go forward. I think that if enough people in our country are aware of what that challenge is, it might change behavior on the other side. But I do think that a good deal of healing has to come within the Republican Party itself. And it&#8217;s not up to me to tell them how to shape themselves. But, again, it is – to have them take pride in what they have been and what they have done for our country.
COOPER: If the former president, Donald Trump, runs again, do you think that healing is possible?
PELOSI: I&#8217;m really – I’m just not in a place where I’m ready to talk about what comes next. And tomorrow is a very big day for our country. Our democracy is on the ballot, our planet is on the ballot, our values are on the ballot.
COOPER: How concerned are you about tomorrow?
PELOSI: As I said, I have heard from at least 50 of our candidates in races that are, shall we say, in some view, too close to call, in our view, ours. And I feel optimistic, just depends on turnout. And I&#8217;m a former party chair. And I&#8217;m always about owning the ground and getting out the vote. And I feel confident that we&#8217;re in that position. Their races are close. Some of them could go one way or another. We could split it. We&#8217;ll see. But it&#8217;s up to the people, And whatever happens, we will respect the results of the election.
COOPER: I know – there&#8217;s obviously been a lot of discussion about whether you&#8217;d retire if Democrats lose the House. I know you&#8217;re not going to answer that question. So I’m not going to even ask that question.
PELOSI: Oh good, I’m glad.
COOPER: But I will ask, can you confirm that you’ve made a decision about what you would do?
PELOSI: That&#8217;s like asking the question, isn’t it?
COOPER: No, I&#8217;m not asking what the decision is. I&#8217;m just asking, have you looked ahead? And have you made the decision in your mind, whatever that decision might be?
PELOSI: Well, I have to say my decision will be affected about what happened the last week or two.
COOPER: Will it be – will your decision be impacted by the attack in any way?
PELOSI: Yes.
COOPER: It will?

CNN data analyst Harry Enten said Wednesday that President Joe Biden&#8217;s approval ratings were continuing to plummet because &#8220;inflation is eating his presidency alive.&#8221;
<a href="https://dailywire.com/news/cnn-pollster-predicts-republican-tsunami-the-best-position-in-over-80-years/">Enten</a> joined CNN anchor Anderson Cooper to discuss the <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/you-dont-use-these-tools-jake-tapper-corners-biden-econ-adviser-for-blowing-smoke-about-inflation/">state of the economy</a> and how that was impacting Biden&#8217;s approval numbers — and Enten noted that Biden&#8217;s disapproval rating was higher than that of any other president to date at the same point in his presidency.

&#8220;We&#8217;ve decided to release the kraken,&#8221; Cooper said as he introduced Enten on Wednesday evening&#8217;s show.
Cooper noted that according to the most recent data, inflation had jumped again in June — rising 9.1% year over year — and that it was certainly an issue that was top of mind for a lot of voters regardless of their political persuasion.
Enten pointed to the polls from 2021 to 2022, which showed the president&#8217;s disapproval rating jumping from 44% in the summer of 2021 to 58% in the most recent <a href="https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/reports/monmouthpoll_us_070522/">Monmouth poll</a>. It also showed that while a year ago, only 5% of Americans polled had seen inflation as the top issue on their mind, that number had also jumped — to 33% — according to the most recent poll.
&#8220;A year ago, no one was saying inflation was a concern outside of Larry Summers. Now, it is a clear number one issue, and we see this clear correlation as more people are concerned about inflation, Joe Biden’s disapproval rating climbs ever higher,&#8221; Enten replied.
&#8220;How does President Biden stack up against other presidents at this time in the administration?&#8221; Cooper asked.
&#8220;Yeah, so we can look at both Joe Biden’s disapproval rating on inflation and Joe Biden’s disapproval rating overall, and what we see is his disapproval rating on inflation is topping 70%. His disapproval rating overall is still in the 50s,&#8221; Enten said. &#8220;But, if you compare that to every single other president at this point in their first term throughout polling history, this goes all the way back since the 1940s, he is the worst on both.&#8221;
Enten added, &#8220;And the reason he is worst overall is because inflation is eating his presidency alive at this point.&#8221;
