Ana Navarro suggested on Monday that President Donald Trump and his administration had effectively cooked the books in their efforts to arrest former CNN host Don Lemon in connection with a protest that disrupted a Minneapolis church service a week earlier.
Navarro and her cohosts on ABC&#8217;s midday talk show &#8220;The View&#8221; discussed Lemon&#8217;s arrest, and their conversation covered the entire spectrum, from Navarro and Sunny Hostin insisting that the case had no merit and would be dismissed to Whoopi Goldberg wringing her hands and warning that the Trump administration could arrest anyone the president didn&#8217;t like.
Navarro began by claiming that an appellate court&#8217;s refusal to compel a lower court judge to sign off on Lemon&#8217;s arrest warrant amounted to judges laughing the DOJ out of their courtrooms. She did not mention the fact that one of the judges concerned said that he agreed there was probable cause to arrest Lemon.
&#8220;So, they basically did it themselves,&#8221; she asserted. &#8220;Make no mistake about it. This was about gaslighting, this was about going against Don lemon and other journalists. By the way, all of whom happen to be black. Happy Black History Month. And I think it&#8217;s to send a chilling message to anybody who is covering facts.&#8221;

Hostin, also ignoring that fact that Lemon was indicted by a federal grand jury, claimed that the former CNN host was only acting as a journalist covering the protest as it unfolded — despite video appearing to show that he was privy to the plans prior to the group storming into the church while parishioners attempted to hold a worship service.
Cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin also defended Lemon, claiming that he had acted only as a journalist.

Goldberg hit the panic button, however, and fretted about how easy it might be for the Justice Department to arrest anyone if Lemon was fair game.
&#8220;Listen, what I said to you before, you see what&#8217;s happening, you know what&#8217;s happening. If it&#8217;s happening like this for someone who is out and clearly doing his job, what do you think will happen to us?&#8221;

&#8220;The View&#8221; host Ana Navarro counted herself among the Latinos celebrating Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro&#8217;s arrest and extradition to New York, but refused to give President Donald Trump any credit, arguing that he&#8217;d only done it to soothe his own ego.
Navarro and her cohosts, like many across media outlets, spent much of Monday&#8217;s broadcast discussing the Trump administration&#8217;s precision strikes on Venezuela and the mission to extract Maduro — who was indicted on drug trafficking charges — for trial in the United States.
Sunny Hostin referred to the Trump administration&#8217;s actions as &#8220;100% illegal&#8221; and parroted the dictator himself when she claimed he&#8217;d been &#8220;kidnapped.&#8221;

Navarro&#8217;s parents brought her to the United States from Nicaragua in 1980, after the socialist Sandinistas overthrew the Somoza dictatorship in 1979. She explained how she and others who had escaped oppressive rule saw Maduro&#8217;s capture differently.
Navarro began by claiming that Trump &#8220;doesn&#8217;t give a damn about the Venezuelan people,&#8221; arguing that he would not be arresting Venezuelans who had come to the United States illegally if he did. She went on to say that she believed he had intervened in Venezuela solely to soothe his own ego.
Despite her questions regarding Trump&#8217;s motivation, she said that Maduro&#8217;s arrest still made her happy. And when cohost Whoopi Goldberg asked who had voted for this to happen, Navarro had the answer.
&#8220;The people in South Florida, the Venezuelan community, the Cuban-American community, the Nicaraguan-American community voted for this,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And for us, this is a very, very happy day when we see a dictator who has been part of oppressing and abusing the Venezuelan people for 25 years, when we see him in handcuffs and held to some sort of accountability, it brought me to tears.&#8221;
&#8220;I think you can criticize and ask questions and have concerns about the way it was done and what this means in the future,&#8221; she added. &#8220;And I think you can still celebrate that this murderous, corrupt, sadistic son of a bitch is out of Venezuela.&#8221;

Navarro made the comments during Monday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The View&#8221; on ABC, as she and her cohosts attacked the Trump administration first for sending Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to enforce federal immigration laws and then for sending in the National Guard when protesters violently attacked the federal agents.
&#8220;Today, he is sending in the National Guard to attack the protesters who are there,&#8221; Navarro — who immigrated to the United States legally — said, suggesting that the point of bringing the National Guard in was for them to attack the protesters. &#8220;And look, this for me hits really close, I&#8217;m Latino, I&#8217;m an immigrant, these are my people who are getting dragged through the streets.&#8221;
She went on to warn the Latino community that Trump had sent the National Guard to goad them into committing acts of violence. &#8220;We must be strategic, we must be nonviolent. Navarro left out the fact that the NFL had released a statement about removing the &#8220;End Racism&#8221; slogan from the field, saying that it was meant to reflect recent tragedies all across the United States including the Los Angeles County wildfires, Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and the terrorist attack that took place in New Orleans. She also made no attempt to prove that Trump had made any suggestions with regard to who should or should not perform at halftime — or that he&#8217;d ever given any indication that he cared one way or the other.
&#8220;When I saw Samuel L. Jackson dressed as a black Uncle Sam introducing Kendrick Lamar — who then had like an entire formation of all black people making a U.S. flag, listen, this much I know: all the black people in my feed were like, &#8216;Oh, this is blackety-black-black.&#8217; And all the racists who somehow get in, man were they hopping mad. So if the racists are mad, I am happy as a clam.&#8221;

Cohost Sara Haines complained about the price of eggs, which skyrocketed due to an outbreak of bird flu before Trump even took office, and suggested that this was somehow tied to Trump&#8217;s tariff threats.
&#8220;Why aren&#8217;t the price of eggs getting better? This was the other part he promised which was tariffs,&#8221; she said, suggesting that the people making less than $50,000 who voted for him &#8221; in spades&#8221; were getting what they voted for, and it was going to hurt them the most.

The hosts of ABC News&#8217; &#8220;The View&#8221; took turns scolding Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) on Monday, first for taking a meeting with President Donald Trump and then for daring to vote in favor of any of his cabinet appointments.
Ana Navarro, who self-identifies as a Republican despite her insistence on supporting and defending former President Joe Biden and even hosting one evening of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, went after Fetterman first.
&#8220;You did get a lot of criticism for it from some people who thought you going to Mar-a-Lago gave cover to Trump by creating this illusion that he&#8217;s amenable to working with Democrats,&#8221; she said of Fetterman&#8217;s visit with Trump at his Florida home. She then boasted that she had supported Republicans who crossed the aisle to work with Biden — before lambasting Democrats who dared to work across the aisle when the other side was Trump.
&#8220;I was very supportive when people like Mitt Romney and Rob Portman worked with Joe Biden, so I understand the need for bipartisanship,&#8221; she said, and then immediately pivoted: &#8220;I didn&#8217;t love the optics of you going to Mar-a-Lago, he was going to — which is his palace. He was going to be in Washington a week later.&#8221;

Cohost Sunny Hostin joined the fray then, complaining that Fetterman had called out the politically motivated nature of the hush-money case against Trump in Manhattan.
&#8220;Just for clarification, did you mean that the 34-count case in which Donald Trump was found guilty of various financial crimes was politically motivated?&#8221; Hostin pressed.
&#8220;I found that when the judicial system gets weaponized, and targeted political enemies for political gain, I think that&#8217;s inappropriate, and I think that degrades our collective trust in this very important institution,&#8221; Fetterman pushed back, arguing that it was wrong no matter which side was guilty of such action.
&#8220;I think I like to call it strikes and balls, but the judicial system has to remain impartial. I mean, that&#8217;s really the cornerstone of our society,&#8221; he added.
Whoopi Goldberg stepped in to deflect away from the political prosecution of Trump, asking the audience, &#8220;Wouldn&#8217;t that be great if that&#8217;s the way that things actually worked?&#8221;
After the commercial break, Hostin kept at it, saying that many Democrats were frustrated because Fetterman appeared to have &#8220;made a rightward shift.&#8221; By way of evidence, Hostin listed his previous meeting with the incoming President of the United States, the fact that he joined Truth Social, and his support of border security and fracking — the latter of which sustains many jobs in his home state of Pennsylvania.

Navarro brought the topic back around to Trump&#8217;s cabinet nominees, complaining that Fetterman had met with them on Capitol Hill — which he has repeatedly said he&#8217;d do because the Senate is called to &#8220;advise and consent&#8221; — and that he&#8217;d even voted for a few of them. One she listed specifically was Secretary of State Marco Rubio — a longtime friend of hers for whom she had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ana-navarro-touts-qualified-rubio-as-solid-choice-by-trump-heres-what-she-said-about-him-in-june">voiced support</a> just weeks earlier.

&#8220;Can I just say, I think comparing Biden&#8217;s pardons to Trump&#8217;s is like comparing apples to Volkswagens,&#8221; Ana Navarro cut in. &#8220;It does not seem similar to me because Joe Biden&#8217;s family, the people he pardoned on the January 6th Committee, have not actually committed crimes, he is trying to prevent them from spending the rest of their lives fighting the government, which is no easy feat.&#8221;
Navarro made no mention of the congressional investigation into Biden&#8217;s family members and their foreign business dealings, nor did she mention that less than two weeks earlier, Biden had said he had no intention of issuing pardons to anyone who had not committed any crimes.

Cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out the fact that former President Barack Obama had attended the inauguration — although former First Lady Michelle Obama did not — along with former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and former First Ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush. She argued that attacking the artists, who could simply want to be a part of such a celebrated American tradition regardless of their personal politics, was unfair — especially when politicians from both parties were in attendance.

As Navarro noted, Snoop Dogg has said critical things about Trump in the past — but after Trump commuted the sentence of Death Row Records founder Michael &#8220;Harry-O&#8221; Harris in January of 2021, the rapper appears to have changed his tune.

Cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro faced off over whether or not people could truly celebrate the coming holiday season with the second inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump looming ever closer once they pass.
During Monday&#8217;s broadcast of the ABC midday talk show, Goldberg advised viewers to do what they could to &#8220;take care of&#8221; their friends and families, saying that there was no way to really predict or plan for what might happen further down the road: &#8220;Whatever he&#8217;s going to do, he&#8217;s going to do.&#8221;
