Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Wednesday that the United States is focused on developing deeper trade relationships with nations around the globe as the Trump administration seeks to bring countries to the negotiating table through tariffs.
Bessent spoke at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday morning, addressing President Donald Trump&#8217;s global trade strategy. Trump administration officials said that more than 100 countries are ready to negotiate with the United States on trade, and the president&#8217;s trade team is set to meet with 34 nations this week. China, however, remains a major hurdle for the administration&#8217;s trade agenda as Trump and his team still seek to bring China to the table to work out a deal. After Bessent warned against a trade war with China on Tuesday, Trump told reporters that the 145% tariff on Chinese goods would drop.
“It will come down substantially, but it won’t be zero,” Trump added.
Stocks rose on Tuesday following Bessent&#8217;s remarks and continue to climb on Wednesday morning. Bessent also addressed trade with China during his speech at the IMF and World Bank conference, saying the country &#8220;needs to change&#8221; its strategy.
&#8220;China, in particular, is in need of a rebalancing,&#8221; Bessent said. &#8220;Recent data shows the Chinese economy tilting even further away from consumption toward manufacturing. China&#8217;s economic system, with growth driven by manufacturing exports, will continue to create even more serious imbalances with its trading partners if the status quo is allowed to continue.&#8221;
&#8220;China&#8217;s current economic model is built on exporting its way out of its economic troubles. It&#8217;s an unsustainable model that is not only harming China, but the entire world,&#8221; he added. &#8220;China needs to change. The country knows it needs to change.&#8221;

President Donald Trump secured a $1.4 trillion commitment from the United Arab Emirates earlier this week to invest in American energy, manufacturing, and technology over the next decade.
“This new framework will substantially increase the UAE’s existing investments in the U.S. economy in AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and American manufacturing,” the White House said in a Friday statement announcing the framework, per Bloomberg.
The investment framework resulted from Tuesday&#8217;s Oval Office meeting between Trump and the UAE’s national security adviser, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, combined with Vice President JD Vance and Cabinet members negotiating with a UAE delegation over dinner, a White House official with knowledge of the matter <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/after-trump-meeting-uae-commits-10-year-14-trillion-investment-framework-us-2025-03-21/">told</a> Reuters. The UAE delegation included leaders of several major national sovereign wealth funds and companies.
Bin Zayed <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-03-21/uae-to-pledge-1-4-trillion-us-investment-after-trump-meeting">said</a> the UAE is committed to “strengthening its economic ties with the U.S. by accelerating investments in artificial intelligence, advanced technology, infrastructure, energy, and healthcare.&#8221;
As part of the framework, according to Reuters, UAE investment fund ADQ and U.S. partner Energy Capital Partners announced a $25 billion initiative targeting American energy infrastructure and data centers, while XRG, the international investment arm of UAE state oil company ADNOC, committed to supporting U.S. natural gas production through an investment in the NextDecade liquefied natural gas export facility in Texas.
The companies involved in these negotiations reportedly have additional plans to make substantial investments in additional U.S. assets, such as gas, chemicals, and energy infrastructure, beyond what the framework already lays out.
Trump had previously highlighted the importance of foreign investment during his campaign, arguing that bringing significant capital back to American shores would help revitalize manufacturing and create new jobs in technology sectors.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio made clear that when President Donald Trump speaks of America First, that means that the U.S. needs to prioritize problems closer to home.
In an <a href="https://www.wsj.com/opinion/an-americas-first-foreign-policy-secretary-of-state-rubio-writes-western-hemisphere-too-long-neglected-a81707b0?st=Ga7aQt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opinion piece</a> published in The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Rubio said it was “no accident that my first trip abroad as secretary of state, to Central America on Friday, will keep me in the hemisphere. “
“This is rare among secretaries of state over the past century,” Rubio pointed out. “For many reasons, U.S. foreign policy has long focused on other regions while overlooking our own. As a result, we’ve let problems fester, missed opportunities and neglected partners. That ends now.”
Rubio spoke of Trump’s agenda emphasizing securing the nation’s borders and “reversing the disastrous invasion abetted by the last administration,” adding, “We need to work with countries of origin to halt and deter further migrant flows, and to accept the return of their citizens present in the U.S. illegally.”
“We see a prosperous region rife with opportunities,” he declared. “We can strengthen trade ties, create partnerships to control migration, and enhance our hemisphere’s security. El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic — the countries I will visit on this trip — all stand to benefit tremendously from greater cooperation with the U.S.&#8221;
“These nations were neglected by past administrations that prioritized the global over the local and pursued policies that accelerated China’s economic development, often at our neighbors’ expense,” he noted.
“Covid exposed the fragility of America’s dependence on far-flung supply chains,” he recalled. “Relocating our critical supply chains to the Western Hemisphere would clear a path for our neighbors’ economic growth and safeguard Americans’ own economic security. &#8230; As our regional partners build themselves up, they can more easily resist countries such as China that promise much but deliver little.”
Speaking of mass migration to the United States and the ever-present danger of drug cartels, he continued, “Illegitimate regimes in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela are intentionally amplifying the chaos. All the while, the Chinese Communist Party uses diplomatic and economic leverage — such as at the Panama Canal —t o oppose the U.S. and turn sovereign nations into vassal states.”
“I am confident that the countries I will soon visit will be ready partners,” he asserted. “Like President Trump, their leaders are pragmatists who put their citizens first. And because they are pragmatists, they also know that there is much more to be gained from working with the U.S. than not.”
“The threats Mr. Trump was elected to stop are threats to the nations of our hemisphere as well,” he stated. “We share a common home. The safer, stronger and more prosperous that home becomes, the more all our nations stand to benefit. Together, there are few limits to what we can accomplish.”

House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Johnson</a> (R-LA) outlined the Republican Party&#8217;s agenda in a 19-minute speech that he delivered on Friday immediately after winning the speaker&#8217;s race.
Johnson opened his speech by holding a moment of silence for the 14 people who were murdered by an Islamic terrorist this week in New Orleans.
He said that the seven principles that would guide his actions as speaker were individual freedom, limited government, the rule of law, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets, and human dignity.
&#8220;The American people want an America First agenda. Sadly, for the past four years of divided government, too many politicians in Washington have done the opposite,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;Open borders and over-regulation have destroyed our cities and stifled innovation. Inflation and weak leadership have left Americans poorer and they placed our country in a perilous position.&#8221;
He said that the top priority this Congress will tackle is securing America&#8217;s borders.
&#8220;In coordination with President Trump, this Congress will give our border and immigration enforcement agents the resources that they need to do their job,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We will secure the border. We will deport dangerous criminal illegal aliens, and finally finish building the border wall.&#8221;
He said that Congress would also take action to address the inflation crisis that President Joe Biden and the Democrats sparked in 2021 with their American Rescue Plan.
Johnson said that Republicans would also stop the Democrats&#8217; war on energy and unleash America&#8217;s energy industry.
&#8220;We’re going to drastically cut the size and scope of government,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We’re going to return the power back to the people. And in coordination with President Trump and his administration, we’re going to create a leaner, faster, and more efficient federal workforce. We need to do that.&#8221;

Did you ever vote for a &#8220;Brave New World&#8221; created by globalist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wef-chairman-urges-world-leaders-for-deep-systemic-and-structural-restructuring-of-our-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Klaus Shwab</a>?
Well, it doesn&#8217;t really matter whether you wanted it or not, because under <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/biden-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">President Joe Biden</a>, it seems America is along for the ride anyway.
This week at the G-20&#8217;s B-20 event, Schwab told government and business leaders that the entire world order needs some change.
&#8220;If we look at all the challenges, we can speak about the multi crises, economic, political, social, ecological, and institutional crises,&#8221; Schwab said at the event. &#8220;But actually, what we have to confront is a deep systemic and structural restructuring of our world. And this will take some time and the world will look different after we have gone through this transition process.&#8221;
Schwab is a German engineer and professor by trade, as well as the founder of the World Economic Forum.
He was never elected leader of a condo association, let alone a government.
Nevertheless, he has been pushing for the &#8220;Great Reset&#8221; for all nations for quite some time.

Now, he is calling upon nations to work together to hasten the transition.
&#8220;Politically, the driving forces for this transformation, of course, is the political transition into a multipolar world, which has a tendency to make our world much more fragmented,&#8221; he added this week. &#8220;For this reason, events like this one, the G20 and so on, are the very important connectors to unwind a too great segmentation.&#8221;

Now, Schwab isn&#8217;t your regular run-of-the-mill international non-governmental activist.
He is pretty influential and has bragged that he has embedded WEF ideals amongst national leaders throughout the West thanks to its Young Global Leaders program.
&#8220;I have to say, when I mention now names, like Mrs. [Angela] Merkel and even Vladimir Putin, and so on, they all have been Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum. But what we are very proud of now is the young generation like Prime Minister [Justin] Trudeau, President of France, Argentina, and so,&#8221; Schwab <a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1003573450553693" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in 2017. &#8220;But we penetrate the cabinets. So yesterday, I was at a reception for Prime Minister Trudeau and I know that half of his cabinet, or even more than half of his cabinet, are actually Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.&#8221;
So, it is not really conspiratorial or &#8220;misinformation&#8221; to say that Schwab wants an ideological takeover of the world. He has openly admitted that he wants to reshape the world in his image.
The G-20 is supposed to be made up of 20 leading nations, alongside various groups and NGOs that help promote economic and social policy. Ideally, the organization has spirited debates made up of folks who disagree.
In actuality, most actors involved wind up agreeing with each other from the outset, thus creating an echo chamber where the answer is always the same: More international government is needed to solve global problems. Schwab evidently agrees with that message as well.
The current president has made it abundantly clear from the get-go of his administration that he agrees with that agenda.
While <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=biden+reisgns+inetrnaitonal+agreemnets&amp;rlz=1C5GCEM_enUS998US998&amp;oq=biden++reisgns+inetrnaitonal+agreemnets&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64l3j69i60j69i65l2j69i60.6195j1j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">campaigning</a>, he made it known that there were a litany of international agreements he wanted to rejoin that former President Donald Trump did away with during his time in office.
In other words, Biden agrees with Schwab. Trump&#8217;s previous message — which he often <a href="https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-world-economic-forum-davos-switzerland/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">touted</a> on the world stage — of putting “America First&#8221; has no place in Schwab&#8217;s goals.
Still, one would think that the American people are owed an explanation as to what &#8220;restructuring&#8221; the world really means, and how America&#8217;s Constitution, sovereignty, and international interests play into it. We&#8217;ll hold our breath as we await that explanation.

It now seems that any time <a href="http://dailywire.com/news/shows-you-what-his-priorities-are-blake-masters-hits-mark-kelly-for-backing-bidens-irs-buildup/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">President Joe Biden</a> gets behind a microphone, he makes a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/libs-defend-biden-hes-not-out-of-it-he-just-doesnt-really-care" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vocal error</a> that leaves the world scratching its head.
For example, on Friday, Biden displayed his inability to properly count words when he told an elated Maryland crowd, &#8220;Let me start off with two words &#8230; Made in America.&#8221;
Unless you were taught woke math, which teaches 2+2 is racist, his mistake is obvious. Despite that, the crowd lapped it up and applauded.

The purpose of the speech was to discuss Biden&#8217;s economic policy and his goal to increase manufacturing. It&#8217;s pretty similar to former President Donald J. Trump&#8217;s rhetoric, which was also focused on making more things in America and buying American. For that sort of belief, Trump was <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2017/01/30/theres-a-dark-side-to-buy-american/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> &#8220;racist&#8221; by columnists in The Washington Post.
Biden doesn&#8217;t get that criticism, and so instead of the original &#8220;Make American Great Again,&#8221; or MAGA, we&#8217;re left with Biden&#8217;s cheap imitation, &#8220;Building A Better America&#8221; or BABA. As discussed extensively,  it would appear that the president is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/question-if-joe-biden-were-your-dad-would-you-let-him-live-on-his-own" target="_blank" rel="noopener">losing his marbles</a>.
At least it seems that way until you remember that Biden has always been full of hot air.
The online publication, The Hill, <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/3674171-gop-seizes-on-biden-gaffes-to-attack-competence/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reminded</a> Americans of that reality just this past week in an article titled, &#8220;GOP seizes on Biden gaffes to attack competence.&#8221;
The &#8220;news&#8221; article was presumably meant to defend Biden, but wound up insulting his intelligence and missed the point of critics&#8217; attacks.
After discussing recent errors such as the all-too-common mistake of failing to remember a dead congresswoman, numerous Republicans have wondered whether or not the president is actually senile.
There is a lot of evidence for that suspicion, but The Hill tried to explain it away.
&#8220;Biden was making gaffes before his age was a political issue,&#8221; The Hill wrote before providing two examples:

The outlet added, &#8220;But today’s gaffes are being used by Republicans to question Biden’s competency, given his age.&#8221;
Of course, the concerns regarding Biden&#8217;s cognitive ability, or lack thereof, have more to do with the fact that Biden is now the commander-in-chief. His mistakes are alarming because they could produce chaos if made at the wrong time — especially at a time when we would be inching toward nuclear war.
Still though, as Charlie Spiering of Breitbart said, Biden once thoughts the word &#8220;jobs&#8221; only had three letters.

Underdog Trump-Republican Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/13/us/politics/karoline-leavitt-nh-house-gop-primary.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the GOP primary for New Hampshire&#8217;s First Congressional District on Tuesday. 
Leavitt, who worked in former President Donald Trump&#8217;s press shop and then for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), could become the youngest woman ever elected to Congress if she pulls out a win in November. She turned 25 years old last month. 
“It feels like the honor of a lifetime,” the young politico <a href="https://nhjournal.com/leavitt-chris-pappas-has-never-faced-a-candidate-like-me/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> NH Journal after her win. “I’m so humbled, I’m at a loss for words over the outpouring of support from conservatives, from every community.”
Republican Matt Mowers, who worked on Trump&#8217;s 2016 presidential campaign and served in the State Department during the Trump administration, was the presumed frontrunner for nearly a year, but in recent weeks Leavitt was able to pull ahead. The 25-year-old received support from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), and other big-name Republicans.
“When we got into this a year ago, nobody knew who I was,&#8221; Leavitt said. &#8220;I had no money in the campaign account. I just had a drive and a work ethic and a passion to fight for this state and that is paid off over the last year.&#8221;
During her victory speech on Tuesday, Leavitt acknowledged the historic nature of her win and predicted another victory in the November election against Democrat Rep. Chris Pappas.
&#8220;Tonight, we made history,&#8221; she told supporters. &#8220;And I look forward to serving as the youngest congresswoman in United States history when we beat Chris Pappas.&#8221;
&#8220;As many of you know, my youth is one of the many reasons that I felt compelled to run for Congress in the first place,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;Because it&#8217;s my generation of Americans &#8212; your children, your grandchildren &#8212; who are not being served well by the current state of our education system, our media and our entire culture.&#8221;
Far-Left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) received winning media attention in 2018 when she became the youngest woman elected to Congress at age 29.

The Deep State&#8217;s raid — er, scratch that — the Department of Justice&#8217;s (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation&#8217;s (FBI) raid on former President Donald J. Trump&#8217;s Mar-a-Lago home shocked the nation Monday and sent a jolt into mid-term races across the land.
A new poll from Trafalgar Polling and Convention of States <a href="https://www.thetrafalgargroup.org/news/nat-issues-survey-fbi-raid-motivation-0810/">reveals</a> that 53.9% of independent voters, as well as 76.7% of Republican voters, believe Trump’s political enemies are behind the FBI raid. It was taken between August 9 and August 10 and surveyed roughly 1,000 likely voters. 
Furthermore, that same poll shows that the majority of Democratic, Republican, and independent voters alike say that the FBI raid has increased their motivation to vote in the 2022 election. For the GOP, 83.3% of respondents said the feds&#8217; search gave them extra reason to get out and vote this November.
By now, Republicans of all stripes have condemned the raid in varying degrees, with some expressing caution until more details are revealed while others claim it is more evidence that &#8220;the swamp&#8221; is out to get Trump at all costs.
Here&#8217;s a round-up of some reactions and other relevant mid-term news.
(B)Lake Of Fire In Arizona
Arizona GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake has gone full scorched earth in her reaction to the raid. The America First candidate called for a complete overhaul of the federal government until we &#8220;can figure out what the hell is going on,&#8221; to borrow a phrase from Trump himself.
“This is one of the darkest days in American history: the day our Government, originally created by the people, turned against us,&#8221; Lake <a href="https://twitter.com/KariLake/status/1556808739281203200">tweeted</a>. &#8220;This illegitimate, corrupt Regime hates America and has weaponized the entirety of the Federal Government to take down President Donald Trump.”
Then, she added, “We must fire the Federal Government&#8221; and promised to fight &#8220;these Tyrants with every fiber of my being.&#8221;
The Trump-endorsed Lake secured Arizona&#8217;s GOP gubernatorial nomination and is running as an outsider. In a speech, she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-backed-kari-lake-wins-gop-primary-in-arizona-governors-race">claimed</a> triumph over the &#8220;McCain machine&#8221; — an apparent reference and shot at the late Senator John McCain.
Lake is facing off against Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D-AZ). The Cook Political Report <a href="https://www.cookpolitical.com/ratings/governor-race-ratings">rates</a> the Arizona gubernatorial race a toss-up.
GOP Senate candidate Blake Masters pointed out that his opponent, incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), hadn&#8217;t said one iota about the raid on Trump&#8217;s home.
&#8220;Why isn’t Mark Kelly saying anything??? Is he concerned about the politicization of the DOJ?&#8221; Masters <a href="https://twitter.com/bgmasters/status/1557168140550713344?s=20&amp;t=-VdVPOy6PRgmx3XFNAfbHA">tweeted</a>. &#8220;About Joe Biden persecuting his political opposition? As usual, silence from Mark Kelly, as he helps drag the country further in the wrong direction.&#8221;
Masters is currently behind in polling but gaining ground.
He has cut Kelly&#8217;s lead in half since July. The latest poll shows Masters trailing Kelly by five points, 49%-44%. The Republican firm Fabrizio, Lee &amp; Associates conducted the survey for America Next, a pro-Masters political action committee.
Granite State GOP Rock Solid In Condemning Raid 
In New Hampshire, at least three GOP candidates running for Senate against incumbent Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) have condemned Monday&#8217;s raid.
“Whenever Democrats get desperate &amp; low in the polls they decide to investigate President Trump,&#8221; Chuck Morse, the Republican president of the New Hampshire Senate, <a href="https://www.chuckmorsefornh.com/press/morse-statement-on-raid-targeting-president-trump">said</a>.
The Republican Senate candidate also harangued the Biden administration for having &#8220;enough on their plate&#8221; with open borders, increased drug trafficking, and rising crime rates without being used for &#8220;political prosecutions.&#8221; He went on to claim that such &#8220;over the top show of power stunts&#8221; are &#8220;designed in part to distract and intimidate&#8221; and &#8220;need to stop.&#8221;
Morse warned that the FBI raid was a &#8220;foreshadowing&#8221; of what the Democrats&#8217; proposed 87,000 new IRS agents could signal for New Hampshire families.
Many have been asking, &#8220;Where&#8217;s Hunter?&#8221; But Kevin Smith, the former director of a conservative advocacy group, is essentially asking, &#8216;When is the FBI going to raid Hunter?&#8217;
Smith, also seeking the Senate GOP nomination, <a href="https://twitter.com/TeamSmithforNH/status/1556809369978904576?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">tweeted</a> that the raid was a &#8220;complete abuse of power&#8221; and accused the FBI of &#8220;burying evidence on Hunter Biden’s blatant corruption.&#8221;
Smith says the answer to the FBI&#8217;s probe is another investigation into &#8220;politicized government agencies.&#8221;
And then there&#8217;s Don Bolduc, a retired general considered the frontrunner in this so-far sleepy race.  He said he would be concerned if the raid had happened to any former president, including a Democrat, let alone The Don.
&#8220;I think I&#8217;m like millions of Americans right now, wondering what&#8217;s going on,&#8221; Bolduc <a href="https://www.iheart.com/podcast/139-new-hampshire-today-with-j-27984874/episode/8-9-don-bolduc-candidate-for-senate-100702331/">said</a> on the radio show New Hampshire Today. &#8220;If there&#8217;s documents there that needed to be seized, fine, but there should have been a different process for this. This is a former president.&#8221;
Bolduc&#8217;s last name is French and likely derived from the term &#8220;bolduc&#8221; meaning ribbon or thread. Depending on how Granite State voters take his comments, he could be first across the finish line ribbon, or barely hang on by a thread.
Deja Vu All Over Again In Michigan
Tudor Dixon, the Republican nominee for governor, responded to news of the FBI raid by accusing current Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) and President Biden of weaponizing law enforcement against their political opponents.
&#8220;Biden raids President Trump’s home. Whitmer illegally prosecuted her predecessor &amp; continues to go after him &amp; his staff,&#8221; Dixon tweeted, referring to the prosecution of former Michigan GOP Governor Rick Snyder over the Flint water crisis. &#8220;Shameful abuse of power, contemptuous of American principles,&#8221; she <a href="https://twitter.com/TudorDixon/status/1556836096440471552">added</a>.
If you haven&#8217;t caught on, a key strategy for GOP candidates is tying their Democratic candidates to the woefully unpopular Biden.

It would appear that Michigan&#8217;s Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel apparently likes the idea of using government power to go after political opponents.
Nessel is <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/08/07/michigan-attorney-general-special-prosecutor-trump-00050244">asking</a> for a special prosecutor to look into Republican AG candidate Matthew DePerno for allegations that he conspired with Trump supporters to gain access to voting machines on the heels of the 2020 election.
The Michigan State Police and Michigan Department of Attorney General are <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22128224-michigan-petition-for-appointment-of-special-prosecutor">investigating</a> &#8220;a conspiracy to unlawfully obtain access to voting machines used in the 2020 General Election&#8221; and have connected DePerno to the alleged plot.
Colorado&#8217;s O&#8217;Dea Says No Way To Trump 2024
“I hope he doesn’t run. I don’t want to see him as president again,” Republican Colorado Senate nominee Joe O’Dea, a first-time political candidate, <a href="https://www.cpr.org/2022/08/05/gop-senate-candidate-joe-odea-says-he-hopes-trump-doesnt-run-for-president/">told</a> radio host Ross Kaminsky on Friday.
“I think that seeing a Biden-Trump rematch again in 2024 would rip the country apart. I think a lot of people are ready to move our country forward,&#8221; he added. &#8220;So, I wouldn’t support him running again.”
During a debate earlier this year, however, O’Dea seemed to suggest he would support Trump if he were the party’s nominee. “If Donald Trump happens to be the Republican nominee, then I definitely won’t vote for Biden,” O’Dea said a week prior to the Republican primary for the Colorado Senate seat.
The O’Dea campaign <a href="https://twitter.com/KyleClark/status/1555645582512795649?s=20&amp;t=n-IJgsC82mPYsbaSkt0UXg">told</a> Colorado Public Radio that he won’t vote for Biden if Biden and Trump are the nominees in 2024. Another reporter <a href="https://twitter.com/KyleClark/status/1555645582512795649?s=20&amp;t=n-IJgsC82mPYsbaSkt0UXg">tweeted</a> that the “campaign confirms O’Dea would still vote for Trump in 2024 if Trump is the Republican nominee.”
“If former President Trump runs, he can expect Joe to campaign alongside [other possible GOP contenders] Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, or Tim Scott,” communication director Kyle Kohli told CPR.
Dick Cheney Doesn&#8217;t Say The Word Wyoming Once In TV Ad Slamming Trump 
Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) is airing a political ad featuring her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, claiming, &#8220;In our nation’s 236-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.&#8221;
We&#8217;ll let readers decide how they feel about the comments from the former VP who started two wars, oversaw torture, and emboldened the National Security Agency &#8230;  but couldn&#8217;t he have at least mentioned Wyoming in his TV ad? He didn&#8217;t say &#8220;Wyoming&#8221; once.

For her part, Liz Cheney is &#8220;down bad,&#8221; as the kids say these days. &#8220;What Does Delaware? I Don&#8217;t Know, Alaska!&#8221;
In case you haven&#8217;t heard, former Governor Sarah Palin is back in Alaska politics. The GOP congressional candidate knows a thing or two about Ol&#8217; Joe, having faced off against him on the 2008 presidential campaign trail when he was a senator from Delaware.
Palin said in a statement that she &#8220;was outraged but not surprised&#8221; by the raid on Trump&#8217;s residence, which she claimed was meant to stop the America First movement.
&#8220;President Trump is the target of yet another partisan witch hunt, but these third-world tactics will not deter him &#8211; or me &#8211; from fighting to Drain the Swamp and return control of government to the people where it belongs,&#8221; she <a href="https://twitter.com/SarahPalinUSA/status/1557057281451126784?s=20&amp;t=-h6JrGZTjMZ226HzRNqK8Q">added</a>.
Just hours before the raid, Trump joined Palin for a tele-rally, calling in on a phone to encourage GOP voters to choose her to replace the late GOP Rep. Don Young in the rank choice voting.
Nevada&#8217;s Gaming Industry Hedges Its Bets
A staple of the Nevada economy, its gaming industry, has <a href="https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/politics-and-government/nevada/nevadas-casino-industry-donates-to-both-gubernatorial-candidates-2618840/">collectively donated</a> hundreds of thousands of dollars to both Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak and his GOP challenger, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo. Sisolak has the edge so far, taking in $943,000 from the industry since last year. Lombardo is about $200,000 less, receiving a total of $730,000 from the gaming industry in the same time frame, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Homeless Crisis In Oregon&#8217;s Leftist Paradise Takes Center Stage 
Oregon, a state that prides itself on being a beacon of far-left politics, has a homelessness problem.
Oregon&#8217;s GOP gubernatorial candidate Christine Drazan <a href="https://www.kgw.com/article/news/politics/christine-drazan-campaign-issue-roadmap-homelessness/283-b38562a2-0207-4ad2-93be-104ad0fbe735">announced</a> her “Roadmap for Oregon’s Future” on Monday, which promises to &#8220;declare a homelessness state of emergency.&#8221;
Her roadmap includes a plan to “[a]ddress the humanitarian crisis” of homelessness, “[r]estore safe communities” and “the rule of law,” and increase job production to help working families. She also detailed plans to boost education in the state, take care of the natural resources of Oregon in a sustainable way, and bring back trust in government.
Comeback Kent Wins It In Washington&#8217;s 3rd District
Tuesday evening, incumbent six-term Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) lost Washington&#8217;s GOP primary, <a href="https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/rep-jaime-herrera-beutler-concedes-primary-defeat-to-trump-endorsed-challenger-joe-kent/">conceding</a> to America First candidate and green beret Joe Kent. Kent looked like he was going to lose, but thanks to a surge on voting day gained enough ground to overtake his opponent.

Alabama Senate hopeful Katie Britt received the most votes in the state&#8217;s GOP primary on Tuesday evening but failed to secure more than 50% support and will now face Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL) in a primary runoff on June  21.
Britt, outgoing Alabama Senator Richard Shelby’s former chief of staff, secured 44.76% of the vote, <a href="https://results.decisiondeskhq.com/may24-2022-elections">according</a> to Decision Desk HQ. Brooks received 29.16%.
Brooks previously had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, but he yanked that support after Brooks told his followers to move on from the 2020 presidential election. Britt, in turn, has been marketing herself as the true “America First” candidate.

Talk is cheap,” he added in praise of Brooks’ policies.

In second place is Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL) with 25%, and in third sits Mike Durant with 24%. Another poll <a href="https://www.wtok.com/2022/05/19/katie-britt-gov-kay-ivey-lead-exclusive-new-gray-tvala-daily-news-poll/">indicates</a> that Britt&#8217;s lead may only be 31% to Brooks&#8217; 29% with Durant receiving 24% of the vote.

The proceeds come in dollars, euros, and British pounds. “Between the United States, the U.K., and the European Union, every single day, we are sending $700 million a day to Putin by buying his oil,” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXQJQJvbaKI">said</a> Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) on the day of Biden’s first State of the Union address, as a coalition of Republican lawmakers demanded Biden prioritize U.S. energy independence.
In 2020, Russia supplied <a href="https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=709&amp;t=6%20https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Oil-Gas-Share-Of-Russias-GDP-Dropped-To-15-In-2020.html">7%</a> of all U.S. petroleum imports and was America’s <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenroberts/2022/02/24/russia-is-united-states-top-source-of-imported-gasoline/">number-one supplier</a> of imported gasoline in 2021: We import more gasoline from Russia than we do from Canada. “President Biden needs to stop financing Putin’s war with Russian oil, because he shut off the spigots of American energy,” said Scalise.
While his remarks came during a GOP press conference, energy independence has bipartisan support. “Putin has used energy as a weapon. We must counter that, making sure that we have enough energy,” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjCvMch5SuI">said</a> Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) separately. “We’re producing the energy in our country to be independent, but also to be able to support our allies.”
“That would be the greatest asset we have,” said Manchin.
Energy supplies, made-in-America, constitute a newly achieved asset this administration has largely squandered. President Donald Trump believed that <a href="https://www.heartland.org/publications-resources/publications/an-america-first-energy-plan">energy production</a> is an <a href="https://americafirstpolicy.com/latest/why-u.s-energy-policy-must-promote-american-energy-dominance">America First issue</a>. His administration took off the shackles the Obama administration clamped down on the U.S. energy sector and, soon, U.S. energy came roaring back to life.
In 2020, the U.S. became a net exporter of oil for the first time since <a href="https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/oil-and-petroleum-products/imports-and-exports.php">at least 1950</a>, according to figures supplied by the U.S. Energy Information Agency. In 2020, the last year for which data are available, Americans produced more oil than we consumed. (To be specific, we consumed 18.12 million barrels a day but produced 18.4 million.) And we became a net exporter of petroleum, shipping about 635,000 barrels a day more than we imported.
Joe Biden knew if he hoped to maintain the support of a party that had lined up behind the Green New Deal, he had to change things, fast. He canceled the Keystone XL pipeline and has yet to approve any new pipeline to take its place. In his first week in office, he <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/01/27/executive-order-on-tackling-the-climate-crisis-at-home-and-abroad/">signed</a> an executive order to “pause new oil and natural gas leases on public lands or in offshore waters.”
U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/federal-judge-delivers-significant-setback-for-biden-in-ruling-on-new-oil-and-gas-drilling-leases-reports">overturned</a> that order last June. Biden also ordered federal regulators to invent a new measure that he called the “social cost of carbon,” which would factor in the harms the environmentalist movement claims are created by fossil fuels. When a different federal judge struck down that make-believe metric, Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-halts-oil-gas-leases-as-oil-prices-skyrocket-at-home">reimposed a moratorium</a> on federal leases.
Yet Biden has faced <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/12/06/biden-is-approving-more-oil-gas-drilling-permits-public-lands-than-trump-analysis-finds/">criticism</a> from environmentalists for still allowing some oil and gas drilling permits to go forward.
At the same time as President Biden’s anti-energy policies have been implemented, the amount of oil the U.S. imported from Russia reached a <a href="https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&amp;s=MTTIM_NUS-NRS_1&amp;f=M">record-high</a> under President Biden in May 2021 — when we imported 26,171,000 barrels of oil in a single month though imports have since declined to about 12,500,000.
The previous record occurred when Biden was vice president, in May 2009 (25,083,000 barrels). In fact, the U.S. set records for oil importation from Russia the first three years of the Obama administration. Joe Biden’s awful energy policies are sending Americans back to the future.
Under the Biden Administration, domestic prices have spiked. The price of a barrel of oil has <a href="https://ycharts.com/indicators/average_crude_oil_spot_price">increased almost 50%</a> since last March. Since January, the cost of gasoline in Michigan has risen <a href="https://www.record-eagle.com/news/business/gas-prices-surge-to-2022-high/article_2ec4c72c-94e6-11ec-9aef-3775ef93404b.html">33 cents</a> a gallon. Perhaps not surprisingly, Americans are fed up. A <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/389309/americans-offer-gloomy-state-nation-report.aspx">Gallup poll</a> in February found that “satisfaction with energy policies has fallen the most this year. Higher gas prices are likely the reason this sentiment has dropped 15 percentage points in the past year.” And that was before the war.
Increasing exploration of domestic oil, natural gas, and coal will prove necessary to reduce Americans’ energy bills. As the world prospers, and worldwide demand for fossil fuel rises, prices will march steadily upward without significant increases in domestic energy production. The U.S. government estimates that global energy use will <a href="https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=41433">increase 50%</a> by 2050.
As this month has proven, U.S. energy independence is also necessary because Russia’s abundant energy reserves give Vladimir Putin tremendous leverage over U.S. allies. Even without the Nord Stream 2 pipeline operating, Germany imports <a href="https://www.euractiv.com/section/energy/news/germany-to-create-strategic-coal-and-gas-reserves/">55%</a> of its natural gas from Russia. As a result, President Trump once <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-blasts-nato-allies-says-germany-captive-russia-n890471">called</a> Germany “a captive of Russia.” Coincidentally, in the lead-up to Russia’s military conflict with Ukraine, it was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/25/world/europe/germany-russia-nato-ukraine.html">Germany</a> that was <a href="https://www.politico.eu/article/ukraine-war-russia-germany-still-blocking-arms-supplies/">most ambivalent</a> toward the impending war.
Thankfully, Germany has decided not to wait on the U.S. to secure its own energy indepenence. The nation which just a few years ago announced it would <a href="http://theconservative.online/old/index.php/archive-article/the_winter_of_our_disconnectgreen_energy_policies_leave_europe_out_in_the_c">radically shift its energy consumption to so-called renewable energy</a>, has determined to create a <a href="https://www.euractiv.com/section/energy/news/germany-to-create-strategic-coal-and-gas-reserves/">strategic energy</a> reserve of fossil fuels, including coal. “Further measures are on the way for next winter, including ensuring a gas reserve,” said German Vice-Chancellor, Robert Habeck. “If there is such a thing as good news on such a day, it is that the energy supply in Germany is secure.”
Would that Americans could say the same thing.
