WASHINGTON — The United States government is investigating inexplicable &#8220;glowing orbs&#8221; that move at high speeds and have repeatedly appeared around the country over the past few years, newly released Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) documents show.
The Daily Wire was briefed on these Unidentified Aerial Phenomena documents by senior administration officials ahead of the documents&#8217; Friday release. This is the third tranche of documents released as part of President Donald Trump&#8217;s efforts to be transparent with the country on UAP activity.
In the latest drop, numerous documents detail FBI interviews with people describing activity in the northeastern United States. Videos and interviews detail glowing orbs in the sky, both red and white, that move across the landscape.
FBI agents also interviewed a former U.S. Army intelligence officer and four other members of his unit in June 2024 who described seeing a &#8220;potato&#8221; shaped, translucent but shimmering object in the sky that vanished after about two minutes. That incident took place near the Cheyenne Mountains in Colorado.

In another account, which took place in the west, a currently serving senior U.S. intelligence officer describes how he and two pilots saw &#8220;glowing orbs&#8221; from up close and far away as they sought to investigate the orbs from a helicopter. He also says they saw a high-speed object moving low to the ground, which seemed to split in two and speed off in different directions.
That official&#8217;s account, which was originally released in the first tranche of the UFO files on May 8, includes infrared imagery taken by federal officials from the ground.
<h3>The North East UAP Sightings</h3>
The FBI conducted interviews in February 2026 with two individuals who reported seeing bright orbs outside their home in the northeast in 2025. As one of these individuals was returning to his home around 9pm at night and pulled into the driveway, that person noticed an &#8220;intense bright light hovering below the tree line in the middle of their backyard.&#8221;
That person got out of the car and &#8220;stared at the strange light for a few moments before reaching back&#8221; into their car to get their phone and take a video of what they were seeing.
Inside the house, their spouse was waiting for them to arrive home. When the second individual saw on the security camera that their spouse had arrived and was standing next to their car looking into the sky, the second person went outside to join them and see what they were looking at.

&#8220;[Redacted] described the light as a red sphere that was about one meter in diameter,&#8221; the FBI report states. &#8220;[Redacted] described the red color as being brilliant and beautiful, and that [redacted] had never seen anything that color of red before.&#8221;
Inside the sphere, according to the viewers, &#8220;there appeared to be what [he/she] described as a &#8216;white plasma sun&#8217; about the size of a basketball.&#8221;
As they watched, the orb moved up and to their left, they told the FBI. Then they noticed that there was a &#8220;second, identical orb, hovering above the first one.&#8221;
&#8220;The orbs then moved together towards the west above the tree line. [Redacted] stated that from the start of the observation to when the orbs traveled out of sight, they exhibited both a change in altitude and a change in direction. The orbs were silent and moved in a smooth motion. They moved in tandem as if they were flying in formation or were tethered together.&#8221;
As the orbs moved out of sight, the two individuals saw them either merge together or just become so close that they looked like one orb.
The Department of War also released video footage that they captured of the orbs &#8220;beginning at the point when they were above the trees and moving away from their backyard.&#8221;
Some weeks later, they said they saw several white orbs moving over the house from the west to the east, according to the FBI report, at a much higher altitude than the previous red orbs. They described these new ones &#8220;as appearing the size of a dime held at arm&#8217;s length.&#8221;
In another incident, one of the two individuals who spoke to the FBI said they had witnessed something strange near power lines in 1987, describing a &#8220;red light circling around itself at night&#8221; that hovered and then landed near the power station.
&#8220;Since then,&#8221; the report stated, &#8220;[redacted] has always been interested in the topic of UAP.&#8221;
Footage released by the department, which was captured by a private citizen on an iPhone, shows an incident in October 2024 in the northeastern United States where an eyewitness said that he or she observed &#8220;a light source below the horizon, hovering above a pond at an estimated distance of 2,700 feet.&#8221;
&#8220;The luminous object resembled a &#8216;plasma-like sphere&#8217; intermittently changing shape and luminosity,&#8221; the department says. &#8220;At times, the primary light source appeared to separate into smaller luminous points. A luminous point below the primary source hovered just above the water and did not appear consistent with a surface reflection.&#8221;
&#8220;The object remained generally stationary for approximately 45 minutes before disappearing,&#8221; the description adds. &#8220;The eyewitness did not hear any sound from the objects.&#8221;
The FBI found that individual to be &#8220;highly credible,&#8221; the War Department website notes.
<h3>The Western UAP Sightings</h3>
A senior U.S. intelligence officer documented how he and two pilots observed alarming UAP activity in the western United States in 2025. Aboard a helicopter, he was investigating &#8220;loud thuds heard in the mountains on the test range, which coincided with Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) sightings reported over the previous several nights.&#8221; They were looking for possible debris or objects that could explain recent &#8220;orb-like sightings.&#8221;
Towards the end of their search, the senior intelligence officer says that he received a message from their Joint Operations Center (JOC) that radar had detected hits a few miles away from their position, where UAP activity had been noticed on previous nights.
&#8220;I relayed this to the pilots, and we altered course to intercept,&#8221; he wrote. &#8220;What followed was a series of close UAP encounters lasting over an hour.&#8221;
Ground teams were reporting that they had seen something &#8220;super-hot,&#8221; low to the ground, and moving at a high speed, first east, then south, then splitting in two and changing direction.
When the helicopter arrived, they scanned the area, and then the ground team &#8220;suddenly radioed that the object had risen from the ground, approached within ten feet of the helicopter, dropped below us, and then sped away.&#8221; The pilots watched the object split into two, as a smaller object emerged from it, &#8220;before it accelerated out of sight.&#8221;
&#8220;We briefly pursued but broke off, unable to match its speed,&#8221; the senior intelligence officer wrote. The Joint Operations Center informed them that several fighter jets that were already on a training mission in their area were headed their way to help identify the UAP.
The JOC then directed the helicopter towards more nearby radar detections — and here the senior intelligence officer described something even more alarming.
&#8220;We took up a hovering position at approximately 700 feet above ground level (AGL). In the distance, we saw countless orange orbs swarming in all directions against the backdrop of the mountain.&#8221;
The officer and pilots could see the swarming orbs for several minutes before they faded, he wrote. Then they were redirected to their previous position based on fresh radar hits.
&#8220;I provided the coordinates to the pilots, and we moved to intercept, hovering again at 700 feet AGL. Through NVGx, the pilots and I (using the naked eye) observed two large orbs flare up side-by-side, close to the helicopter — stationary and just above the rotor disk to our right. They were oval-shaped, orange with a white or yellow center, and emitted light in all directions.&#8221;
&#8220;After a few seconds,&#8221; he wrote, &#8221; a third orb flared up below the pair, followed by a fourth below that, forming a total of four or five in a &#8216;T&#8217; formation under the original view. The entire event lasted 10-15 seconds. I didn&#8217;t take photos, as I was focused on assessing what it was and whether it posed a threat.&#8221;
As the pilots considered landing due to the objects&#8217; proximity, they could see the fighter jets approaching by their blinking navigation lights. Just then, the helicopter occupants spotted the orbs appearing again, &#8220;directly above the fighters.&#8221;
&#8220;They flared up one at a time in a horizontal formation, matching the jets&#8217; speed and flight path. After 10-15 seconds, they dimmed sequentially and disappeared. This repeated several times as the jets transited the airspace and eventually landed.&#8221;
&#8220;I remarked to the pilots that it seemed the same orbs flaring up and down around us for several minutes, forming a distinct triangle before vanishing.&#8221;
At this point, low on fuel, the helicopter decided to return to the JOC.
&#8220;After landing, I briefly spoke with them — mostly to express thanks,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We were virtually speechless after these observations. I then entered the JOC for a quick debrief before driving home.&#8221;
<h3>The Cheyenne Mountain Sighting</h3>
Near the Cheyenne Mountains in Colorado in 2022, a former U.S. Army Intelligence officer and four other members of his unit said they observed a UAP as they exited their office building on a 50-degree day when there were no clouds and very little humidity.
&#8220;The object was &#8216;potato&#8217; shaped with distinct edges and appeared to look painted in a creamy/whitish opalescent color,&#8221; says an FBI forensic sketch interview dated June 2024. &#8220;It was somewhat translucent with a slight shimmer.&#8221;
&#8220;The object was made up of what can best be described as articulating fish scales or panels that were non-symmetrical, non-overlapping, and irregular shaped,&#8221; the report continues. &#8220;The object itself was perfectly still but each panel on the object shifted in slow waves starting at different points of origin but at the same time.&#8221;
The object vanished after about two minutes, according to the observers. They told the FBI that in the space of time it took to turn their heads, the object had vanished without a shadow.

WATCH: New UFO Release Contains A Potential Breakthrough

Steven Spielberg wants us to believe. Trailers for his latest blockbuster “Disclosure Day,” set for release next Friday, feature humans in direct contact with extraterrestrials (ET) — the stereotypical “grays” from alien-abduction lore. He says the film is “more truth than fiction” and could “upend all established order.”
Whether by <a href="https://metro.co.uk/2026/06/05/steven-spielberg-rejects-disclosure-day-alien-conspiracy-theories-28657180/">coincidence</a> or design, the movie is timed just after the federal government started <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2026/05/08/ufo-files-release-pentagon-trump-admin/89991344007/">releasing</a> UFO “disclosure” files, upon order by President Donald Trump. Like other hyped-up government document releases, this could ultimately change everything — or it might prove to be a nothingburger, revealing little more than grainy, cryptic, black-and-white videos.
I’m not expecting “aliens” to land on the White House lawn any time soon, but let’s consider a far-out thought experiment: If humanoid aliens were shown to exist, what would that mean for questions about evolution, origins, and intelligent design?
The stereotypical ET, familiar from media depictions, would have two arms, two legs, two eyes, and an oversized head — a humanoid body similar to our own. Some will be tempted to say that we “evolved” such biological similarities independently — the “Star Trek” version of aliens who inexplicably always look like humans. Evolutionary biologists call this “convergent evolution.” But under an evolutionary view, the existence of other humanoid life is highly improbable.
According to mainstream biology, Darwinian evolution is blind and unguided. This means that the likelihood of evolution on another planet independently generating humanoid life like humans is infinitesimally small. Scientists recognize this.
Writing about ET life, the late University of Chicago paleontologist David Raup noted that “the majority of evolutionary biologists find the chance of an independent evolution of a recognizably humanoid creature to be essentially nil.” Or, as the astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson recently <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/06/opinion/alien-files-trump-release.html">wrote</a> in the New York Times, the existence of “humanoid” aliens would “shock” him, “violating everything we know about biodiversity.”
The reason for Tyson’s “shock” is that such a high degree of similarity would be extremely unlikely to evolve independently. Even Richard Dawkins once wrote that it is “vanishingly improbable that exactly the same evolutionary pathway should ever be travelled twice.”
Instead, as leading UFO disclosure advocate Luis Elizondo recently <a href="https://youtu.be/6SyeUHMxZaM?t=889">argued</a>, aliens with a “humanoid form” would suggest a “common link.” The best explanation would be that we all come from a common designer.
After all, intelligent agents regularly reuse functional parts in different systems. Engineers reuse wheels on both cars and airplanes, or keyboards on both tablets and cell phones. A high degree of similarity is far better explained by a common intelligent designer, not blind evolution.
Undoubtedly, there will be those tempted to say that the aliens actually are our designers, but what does this really explain? Invoking aliens kicks the can down the road and doesn’t explain the aliens’ origin.
If humanoid aliens really existed, such a degree of similarity would require that they be based upon something like DNA and proteins. But complex biomolecules like DNA won’t arise once, much less twice, by unguided chemical evolution. Something else is needed.
And much more than DNA alone is needed for cells to operate. Life contains a myriad of molecular machines that maintain a highly ordered state of cellular complexity.
But how does all that machinery arise? The answer is that they are programmed into our DNA. The nucleotide bases in DNA must be arranged in precisely the right order to produce functional proteins. Molecular biologist Douglas Axe published a paper <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15321723/">finding</a> that only 1 in 10^77 amino acid sequences will work to produce a typical functional protein. Blind evolution could never stumble upon such rare and precise sequences of genetic information.
Special machines in living cells read and interpret that genetic information, executing its commands, to produce cellular machines. The result is a form of computer-like information processing where you literally have machines building machines. As Bruce Alberts, former president of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, <a href="https://www.cell.com/fulltext/S0092-8674(00)80922-8">wrote</a>: “The entire cell can be viewed as a factory that contains an elaborate network of interlocking assembly lines, each of which is composed of a set of large protein machines.”
Information-rich codes, computer-like information processing, and factories making machines have only one known cause: an intelligent mind.
If alien life does exist — and that’s still a very big “if” — and if it looks or works even remotely like human biology, then it did not arise by blind evolution, and those similarities didn’t occur by chance. Their complexity was intelligently designed, and their similarities trace to a common designer.
So, could aliens be the designers? No, because these aliens could not create themselves. Speaking philosophically, if we go back to the beginning, there can only be one ultimate designer: an unevolved, superintelligent, supernatural, transcendent being. Most people call that God.

Despite rumors that the man in the alien costume was her boyfriend former Canadian Prime Minister <a href="https://people.com/katy-perry-shares-new-photos-justin-trudeau-miranda-kerr-instagram-11964886">Justin Trudeau</a>, the alien was likely just a backup dancer.
Perry proceeded to join the alien in doing a dance that appeared to be a mix of a forgotten &#8217;90s workout routine and a mating ritual from a lame bird of paradise.
In the video, the man in the alien costume jumped up into the air and proceeded to do an extended squat. He shook his legs and his butt in seizure-like contortions while swaying his hands and wrists in a circular fashion. He then feigned a melodramatic collapse on the floor, came back up to do off-brand Michael Jackson moonwalk step, then fell to the floor again.
The gaylien will reportedly be making appearances at Perry&#8217;s European summer festivals to celebrate pride.
Perry has been notorious for being supportive of gay rights, with her hit song “I Kissed a Girl” being famous for its depiction of a lesbian relationship. Anyone who rushed to Aliens.gov on Thursday expecting UFO disclosure was in for a rude awakening. Because the website has nothing to do with extraterrestrials, but rather, illegal immigrants.
The website — which looks like something a guy named Randy would show you at 2 a.m. while explaining what really happened at Area 51 — opens with neon text on a poorly designed background proclaiming &#8220;They Walk Among Us.&#8221; Only &#8220;they&#8221; are not little green men, but the countless illegal immigrants who have entered the United States through the southern border.
&#8220;They&#8217;ve shopped in the same stores, attended the same classes as our children, and lived seemingly normal human existences,&#8221; the site reads. &#8220;With one exception — they do not belong here.&#8221;

Perhaps the Fox Mulders of the world are disappointed that this site doesn&#8217;t reveal all the secrets of Area 51. But this is just the latest social media coup from a White House that has repeatedly proven it has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/everyone-go-to-covid-gov-right-now-just-trust-us">no problem using memes</a> and viral content to get its serious policy points across to the American people.

The White House released the first batch of anticipated UFO files on Friday that have long been hidden from public view. 
“The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena,&#8221; War Secretary Pete Hegseth said. &#8220;These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it’s time the American people see it for themselves. This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency.”
Over 160 files can be viewed on a new <a href="https://www.war.gov/UFO/">webpage</a> from the Department of War. The files include photos, videos, FBI investigative records, eyewitness testimonies, and public reports concerning UFOs. One image was captured during the Apollo 17 moon landing and shows three shining dots in space.

The release comes after President Donald Trump in February directed the release of government records related to “alien and extraterrestrial life.”
“President Trump directed the Department of War to identify and release government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and unidentified flying objects because he is the most transparent president in history,&#8221; White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly told The Daily Wire. &#8220;While past administrations have sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, the President is focused on providing maximum disclosure to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files. The American people asked, and President Trump delivered — enjoy!”
Tennessee Republican Tim Burchett <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5842815-burchett-ufo-files/">said</a> last month in an interview with NewsNation that he had seen UFO-related videos that he didn&#8217;t believe could be explained by man-made technology. 
“I’ve seen pictures and video of things that defy any reason that we have, and everybody says, ‘Well, it’s our stuff, it’s the Russians, it’s the Chinese,’” he said. “If it’s the Chinese, ma’am, they would own us. If it was the Russians, they wouldn’t be bogged down in Ukraine.&#8221; 
“If it was ours, we would never risk our military fighting men and women in half-a-billion-dollar aircraft out with these things that they’re spotting. These things can hover for hours on end, then they can just shoot straight up, they can do angles.”
Last week, Trump teased the release of the files during an event at the White House with the Artemis II astronauts. 
&#8220;We&#8217;re going to be releasing a lot of things that we haven&#8217;t,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;I think some of it&#8217;s going to be very interesting to people.&#8221;

President Donald Trump on Friday evening hinted at what’s to come when the War Department releases files relating to UFOs and phenomena of unknown origin.
Speaking at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Trump said: “As you remember, I recently directed the Secretary of War — how good is Pete Hegseth doing, by the way — to begin releasing government files relating to UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena.”
The president then remarked on how excited the crowd became, saying, “I figured this was a good crowd because I know you people are really into that. I don’t know if I am.”
“So, I’m pleased to report today — I thought I’d save it for this crowd because you’re a little out there — that this process is well underway and we’ve found many very interesting documents, I must say,” Trump continued. “And the first releases will begin very, very soon.”

The hype train for the release of documents and media related to what the United States government knows about UFOs and advanced technology has been gaining steam for months.
Trumps’s executive order on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-orders-release-of-any-and-all-info-on-aliens-and-ufos">February 19</a> directed the War Department and other agencies to “begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”
In the wake of the president’s order, several congresspeople who have been involved with UFO disclosure efforts applied pressure to the administration to follow through.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), for example, sent <a href="https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/UAP-Request-Letter-FINAL.pdf">a letter</a> to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth requesting the disclosure of 46 known videos believed to be in possession of the U.S. government. She gave an April 14 deadline, but the date came and went without the videos being released.
All of this comes in the wake of several blockbuster congressional hearings since 2023 featuring seemingly credible witnesses to UFOs and alleged non-human tech — and even living organisms.
In March, the federal government <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/03/18/us-news/white-house-registers-aliens-gov-domain-name/">registered</a> alien.gov and aliens.gov — likely in preparation for the publication of files.
The Trump administration appears poised to make some kind of release. While it&#8217;s impossible to know with any certainty what documents, photographs, and footage may be published and if they will impact the public&#8217;s perception of the topic in any significant way, the momentum is certainly on the side of transparency and disclosure.

Trump announced his plans to release the records in a Truth Social post. The move comes after former President Barack Obama asserted that aliens “are real” in a recent YouTube interview.
“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters. Earlier on Thursday, the president <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-swipes-at-obama-over-alien-revelations-he-gave-classified-information">joked</a> that Obama “gave classified information” when he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/barack-obama-on-aliens-theyre-real">spoke</a> about the existence of aliens with podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen on Saturday.
“I can tell you he gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that,” said Trump when asked by Fox News&#8217; Peter Doocy about Obama’s remarks while aboard Air Force One.
“He made a big mistake. He took it out of classified information,” said Trump without affirming or denying the existence of extraterrestrial life.
&#8220;No, I don&#8217;t have an opinion on it. I never talk about it,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;A lot of people do. A lot of people believe it.&#8221;
&#8220;Do you believe it, Peter?&#8221; Trump said, returning the question back to Doocy, who responded in kind.
&#8220;The president can declassify anything he wants to,&#8221; Doocy said.

On the topic of extraterrestrial life, Trump was ambivalent: &#8220;No, I don&#8217;t have an opinion on it. I never talk about it. A lot of people do. A lot of people believe it.&#8221;

He also admitted that he had not personally seen any aliens.

That’s a funny answer. But Cohen just moves on. 
Brian Tyler Cohen has set the new gold standard for incompetence at interviewing. There&#8217;s no follow-up. 
A president of the United States declares that aliens are real, and Cohen decides to not follow up on it. Oh, how do you know that? How do you know aliens are real?
Obama has now come out <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/barack-obama-clarifies-seen-no-evidence-aliens-saying-real-rcna259232">to clarify</a> his statement, offering a whole lot of liberal nonsense about the distance between solar systems:

Liberals always say things like this — the solar system is so large, statistically there has to be intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.
But they never explain why that is. Because in order to ascertain the probability of something, you have to know how that thing came about in the first place. You have to know something, anything, about that thing. And at the level of pure nature, we don&#8217;t.
Now from a theological and anthropological level, I think we do know. But from the point of view of nature, we do not know how life came about. We don&#8217;t know, for instance, how one goes from inorganic to organic matter. There have been a zillion theories over the years, and none of them have been proven, but some of them have been disproven. 
So the argument that the universe is really, really big actually does not imply that there is intelligent life — or life of any kind anywhere else.
But the reason that the libs love aliens is because the existence of aliens diminishes the distinction of human beings. It makes us less special. That&#8217;s usually their explicit argument.
They say things like, What, you think you&#8217;re so special? A universe that&#8217;s eight gazillion bajillion miles wide and expanding, with countless worlds — you think you&#8217;re so special?
And my answer — and I believe the Christian answer — is yes, I think we’re pretty special.
The deeper reason the libs always promote aliens is because it diminishes the Incarnation. Because Christ is a man, because God becomes a man. He doesn&#8217;t become E.T., he doesn&#8217;t become a gazelle. He becomes a man, and he raises our very humanity to inestimable dignity.

And the libs (and demons) want to diminish that. Satan falls from heaven because he can&#8217;t bow down to a man. Basically that&#8217;s what&#8217;s at the heart of this. I&#8217;m not saying that all the libs who promote the alien stuff are actively working with demons. I&#8217;m not. I really am not. I don&#8217;t see demons under every rock. But it is curious that so much of liberalism comes down to a prideful attempt to exalt man above his station and ends by degrading man below his station.
It begins by this notion that we&#8217;ll have no kings or priests. Man will only be free when the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest. We&#8217;re just humanists now. We&#8217;re going to raise humanity up. We&#8217;re going to maximize individual autonomy.
And then what&#8217;s the end of it? The end of it is we degrade ourselves. We pretend that we&#8217;re just sacks of meat that exist only for pleasure. We promote things like abortion, slaughtering babies, and degrading humanity. We promote things like suicide, slaughtering ourselves, again degrading humanity.
We reduce ourselves below the station to which we&#8217;ve been raised. No surprise there. So when Obama says, look, I&#8217;m clarifying, I don&#8217;t see any evidence of aliens — I think he&#8217;s probably being honest here. I think his knee-jerk reaction of, well, of course aliens exist, the certainty in that just comes from his liberalism: we have to be — humans aren&#8217;t special. You think you&#8217;re so special?
But we are. We are actually.
It&#8217;s actually a harder truth. It is a more realistic view, but it&#8217;s more difficult, and it entails more responsibility to say yes, we are special. It&#8217;s kind of weird, right, that we, among all of the created things, have rational wills. Isn&#8217;t that kind of weird that we can conceive of abstract things? Unlike every animal and plant and all organic matter on Earth? We are finite and mortal, we die — but we have this immortal, eternal aspect to ourselves because we can reason.
Isn&#8217;t that kind of weird that nothing else that we&#8217;ve ever encountered or really even can conceive of has that combination of flesh and reason and will?
That makes us kind of special.
You are special, believe it or not.

Former President Barack Obama said over the weekend that aliens are “real,” though he admitted he “hasn’t seen them.”
Obama <a href="https://barackobama.medium.com/my-conversation-with-brian-tyler-cohen-e25cac125f44">confirmed</a> the existence of extraterrestrial life during an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI-hgSE5QIw">interview</a> with podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen that aired on Saturday. At the beginning of a “lightning round” of questions, Cohen asked the president directly about the existence of aliens.
“They’re real, but I haven’t seen them, and they’re not being kept in” Area 51, the former president said. “There’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy, and they hid it from the President of the United States.”
Obama also jokingly said that the question on extraterrestrial life was the first question he wanted answered when he became president.
Saturday’s interview is not the first time Obama has spoken about issues related to extraterrestrials. In 2021, the former president confirmed the existence of UFOs, or unidentified flying objects. UFOs are commonly associated with aliens, though they could have more earthly explanations as well.
“What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there is footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are,” he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/barack-obama-admits-ufos-exist-we-dont-know-exactly-what-they-are">said</a> during an appearance on CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
“We can’t explain how they move, their trajectory,” he said. “They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”
Obama also addressed the issue of aliens in 2021, though at the time he declined to say whether or not they exist.
“When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air,” Obama said at the time.
“Look, the truth is that when I came into office, I asked,” he continued. “I was like, ‘All right, is there the lab somewhere where we’re keeping the alien specimens and spaceships?’”
“They did a little bit of research … and the answer was, ‘no,’” he said.

Scientists announced yesterday the strongest evidence yet for possible alien life after detecting gases in a distant planet&#8217;s atmosphere that, on Earth, are only produced by living organisms.
The James Webb Space Telescope detected dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide in the atmosphere of planet K2-18 b, according to a study published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters and <a href="https://www.reuters.com/science/scientists-find-strongest-evidence-yet-life-an-alien-planet-2025-04-16/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by Reuters.
These gases are produced on Earth exclusively by biological processes, primarily by algae.
Located approximately 124 light-years from Earth, K2-18 b is 8.6 times Earth&#8217;s mass and orbits in the &#8220;habitable zone&#8221; of a red dwarf star where liquid water could exist.
The gases were detected with a 99.7% confidence level, meaning there&#8217;s still a 0.3% chance the observation could be a statistical fluke.
&#8220;This is a transformational moment in the search for life beyond the solar system,&#8221; said astrophysicist Nikku Madhusudhan of Cambridge University, who led the study. &#8220;We have entered the era of observational astrobiology.&#8221;
Scientists stress this finding should be viewed cautiously, with Madhusudhan noting it&#8217;s &#8220;in no one&#8217;s interest to claim prematurely that we have detected life.&#8221; Additional observations are needed to rule out non-biological explanations.
The planet could potentially be a &#8220;hycean world&#8221; – covered by a liquid water ocean with a hydrogen-rich atmosphere.
&#8220;The only scenario that currently explains all the data obtained so far is one where K2-18 b is a hycean world teeming with life,&#8221; Madhusudhan explained.
The research team&#8217;s detection involved analyzing starlight passing through K2-18 b&#8217;s atmosphere using Webb&#8217;s highly sensitive instruments.
The gases were detected at concentrations &#8220;thousands of times higher than their concentrations in the Earth&#8217;s atmosphere, and cannot be explained without biological activity based on existing knowledge,&#8221; according to Madhusudhan.
Christopher Glein, principal scientist at the Southwest Research Institute in Texas, emphasized the need for caution when interpreting these results.
&#8220;The rich data from K2-18 b make it a tantalizing world,&#8221; said Glein. &#8220;Yet, we must be very careful to test the data as thoroughly as possible.&#8221;
To conclusively determine whether these gases indicate the presence of life, scientists plan to conduct additional observations.
&#8220;First we need to repeat the observations two to three times to make sure the signal we are seeing is robust and to increase the detection significance,&#8221; Madhusudhan explained, noting that researchers aim to reduce the odds of a statistical fluke to below one in a million.
This detection represents what Madhusudhan calls a &#8220;transformational moment&#8221; in our search for extraterrestrial life, moving humanity closer to answering whether we are alone in the universe – a question that has fascinated mankind for millennia.

Smith</a> demanded answers from the U.S. government about the drones flying in the northeast, comparing it to something out of the alien invasion film “Independence Day.&#8221;
During the latest episode of “First Take,” Smith and cohost NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe were discussing the New York Giants&#8217; loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday when Sharpe made a quip about how people “might need to fly some more planes overhead.” It was a reference to fans paying to fly a banner over the stadium, demanding that the owner fix the team, as <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/sports/stephen-a-smith-demands-answers-to-drone-sightings-in-the-northeast-i-saw-independence-day-dammit/">Mediaite</a> reported.
“Let me tell you something, these damn drones in New York City,” Smith replied. “The United States government, get it together! Get it together!”
“There’s drones flying over people’s houses in Jersey and New York!” he added. “I saw Independence Day, dammit! I ain’t underestimating none of that stuff! Figure it out!”

The movie Smith referenced is a 1996 sci-fi thriller — starring Will Smith, Bill Pullman, and Jeff Goldblum — in which a group of extraterrestrials come to earth with the plan to annihilate the entire world.
A description about the movie on <a href="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116629/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IMDb</a> read, “The aliens are coming and their goal is to invade and destroy Earth. Fighting superior technology, mankind&#8217;s best weapon is the will to survive.”
The comments were similar to what others have been saying on social media about the unidentified drones, seen flying primarily over New Jersey, that have alarmed residents and lawmakers as the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have said little beyond admitting they&#8217;re investigating the phenomena, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/unidentified-drones-entered-airspace-over-u-s-navy-weapons-station">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported. 
Fox News host Harris Faulkner recently talked about the drones, taking video and posting it on <a href="https://x.com/HARRISFAULKNER/status/1867697001741140384">X</a>. 
“JUST SAW THE MYSTERY DRONE ACTIVITY FOR MYSELF. Dusk hit moments ago and very large drones flew outside my bedroom windows,” Faulkner’s post read. “My daughter Bella ran to get her cell.”
“There are 6-8 hovering in one area now above the Hudson River,” she added. “Street traffic to the George Washington Bridge is crawling as neighbors stopping to witness this.
She later posted a message from President-elect Donald Trump, who also weighed in on the mysterious flying devices, calling on the government to let the people know what’s going on.
“NOW TRUMP: Incoming President Trump calls for telling American citizens the truth or shoot down the mystery<a href="https://x.com/hashtag/drones?src=hashtag_click"> #drones</a>,” she <a href="https://x.com/HARRISFAULKNER/status/1867706242065412447">added</a> in a second post.
“Mystery drone sightings all over country,” Trump’s post read. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I [don’t] think so. Let the public know, and now. Otherwise [shoot] them down! DJT.”
