President Donald Trump blasted his former allies Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones on Thursday, calling the podcasters &#8220;nut jobs and troublemakers&#8221; over their comments on Trump&#8217;s recent actions.
Trump published a nearly 500-word post on Truth Social blasting his former supporters for their attacks on the administration, which have gained the attention of legacy media outlets and leftists.
&#8220;I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs. They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too!&#8221; Trump wrote.
All four of the commentators have become increasingly critical of the president over his decision to launch &#8220;Operation Epic Fury&#8221; and attack Iran. Earlier this week, Carlson urged U.S. military members to refuse Trump&#8217;s orders and claimed that Trump was considering using a weapon of mass destruction &#8220;on the population of Iran.&#8221; Kelly said on Wednesday that Trump was &#8220;bamboozled&#8221; by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and blasted the president as &#8220;too weak&#8221; and &#8220;too gullible&#8221; to push back on Netanyahu&#8217;s argument to attack Iran.
On Sunday, Owens called the Trump administration &#8220;satanic&#8221; and said, &#8220;satanic Zionists occupy the White House and Congress.&#8221; She also called for &#8220;Mad King Trump&#8221; to be removed from office. Jones has similarly called for Trump to be removed from office through the 25th Amendment.
&#8220;Look at their past, look at their record. They don’t have what it takes, and they never did!&#8221; Trump said of the four podcasters. &#8220;They’ve all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows, and aren’t even invited on TV because nobody cares about them, they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS, and will say anything necessary for some &#8216;free&#8217; and cheap publicity. Now they think they get some &#8216;clicks&#8217; because they have Third Rate Podcasts, but nobody’s talking about them, and their views are the opposite of MAGA — Or I wouldn’t have won the Presidential Election in a LANDSLIDE.&#8221;
Trump added that Carlson has &#8220;never been the same&#8221; since he was fired from Fox News and suggested that he &#8220;see a good psychiatrist.&#8221; He also ripped Owens over her claims that French President Emmanuel Macron&#8217;s wife is a man, adding that he hopes Macron&#8217;s wife wins her lawsuit against Owens.
&#8220;Actually, to me, the First Lady of France is a far more beautiful woman than Candace, in fact, it’s not even close!&#8221; Trump added.
Trump then ripped Jones over his &#8220;horrendous&#8221; Sandy Hook conspiracy theory, which led to a court ordering Jones to pay $1.5 billion in damages to the families of the mass shooting victims.
&#8220;These so-called &#8216;pundits&#8217; are LOSERS, and they always will be! Now Fake News CNN, The Failing New York Times, and all of the other Radical Left &#8216;News&#8217; Organizations, are &#8216;hailing&#8217; them, and giving them &#8216;positive&#8217; press for the first time in their lives,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;They’re not &#8216;MAGA,&#8217; they’re losers, just trying to latch on to MAGA.&#8221;

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro discussed his views on billionaire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elon Musk</a> and the principles of free speech, specifically regarding Alex Jones, during an interview with Piers Morgan on Wednesday.
Shapiro recently <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAr-lgY2WhA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">visited</a> Auschwitz, Nazi Germany&#8217;s largest concentration camp, with Musk, and interviewed the Tesla CEO for his show, &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ben-shapiro-sits-down-with-elon-musk-for-exclusive-wide-ranging-discussion-on-dei-space-religion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Search</a>.&#8221;
&#8220;Elon Musk is definitely not an anti-Semite,&#8221; Shapiro responded. &#8220;And for people who are sort of jumping on various Twitter comments to suggest that he is, I would suggest that you look at the full corpus of everything that he’s had to say on anti-Semitism, on Israel, on what’s going on in the world post-October 7. It’s very hard to come to that conclusion.” 
Shapiro went on to discuss how Musk sometimes tweets what he’s thinking in real time, and then expounds on his thoughts to give people a fuller view.
“He sort of puts out whatever he’s thinking in the moment, unedited — that’s one of the benefits; that’s one of the drawbacks,” the conservative explained. “Very often, he will come back and sort of fill out exactly what he meant to say.”
“That also means that he’s considering things in real time,” Shapiro continued. “Interviewing him is really interesting in that way. You’ll ask him a question and, unlike most people who are asked interview questions, he actually sits and considers the actual question. He’ll take it in, and you’ll actually see him shift his opinion in real time as he processes the question. It makes him a fascinating person.&#8221;
Morgan revealed that he “courted” Musk for about a year to do an interview with him, but it fell through just two days before Morgan was set to travel to Texas and conduct the interview. According to Morgan, Musk sent him a clip of the host criticizing the Tesla CEO for permitting Alex Jones back on X, and told Morgan the interview was off.
“[Musk] said he lost all respect for me because I would do that, and the interview was summarily canceled,” Morgan told Shapiro. “So I never got the chance to interview him, which is a great regret, because I think he&#8217;s probably the most fascinating guy in the world right now.&#8221;
Morgan then asked Shapiro if he agreed that Jones should have been allowed back on X.
“So my general belief is that Alex Jones should not have been banned from Twitter in the first place, because he did not actually violate, on Twitter, their terms of service,” Shapiro responded. “My belief is that you should have a consistently applied set of terms of service.”
“I’ve actually never called for anyone to be banned on Twitter, including many people who despise me, hate my guts, and probably would like to see me dead,” he continued. “I actually don’t even block people on Twitter. Just on principle, I refuse to block people on Twitter. It’s also why, for example, I don’t delete old tweets — tweets that I disagree with, that I wrote in 2008, 2009; I leave those up for the public record. I tend to be in favor of radical transparency on X.”

Morgan went on to say that he agrees with almost everything Musk has said and done, and called the billionaire a “force for good.”
&#8220;I totally agree with that,” Shapiro answered. “The world requires audacious thinkers. Elon Musk is an audacious thinker. The world requires people who have high aspirations for humanity. Elon Musk has high aspirations for humanity.”
“Having sat with him for a while, I think Elon is a person who likes to solve problems,&#8221; Shapiro said. &#8220;And if the problem is in front of him, he really wants to expend all of his energy solving it, which is why he will sleep on the factory floor of one of the companies he’s working with or starting.&#8221;
&#8220;The guy’s the wealthiest guy on earth, he certainly doesn’t have to go and sleep on the floor over at Tesla while he’s redesigning their product, or have to go sleep in the offices of X, as he did when he first acquired Twitter,&#8221; he said. &#8220;That is something that only a really dedicated person would do, and I think that’s beyond argument.”
“What Elon is trying to do, even when I disagree with him, is truly an audacious thing — it’s a deeply American ideal to shoot for the stars, and he’s literally doing that,&#8221; Shapiro said.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/infowars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">InfoWars</a> host Owen Shroyer received a 60-day sentence in prison on Tuesday for his role in the U.S. Capitol breach on January 6 that prosecutors claim he &#8220;helped create.&#8221;
&#8220;In the months prior to January 6, Shroyer spread election disinformation paired with violent rhetoric to hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of viewers,&#8221; prosecutors wrote in <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.234903/gov.uscourts.dcd.234903.49.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">court filings</a>.
Shroyer, the 34-year-old host of &#8220;The War Room With Owen Shroyer&#8221; on Alex Jones&#8217; media platform, never entered the federal building on that infamous day, but was still punished by prosecutors because he previously signed a deferred prosecution agreement after interrupting a House Judiciary Committee hearing for then-President Trump&#8217;s impeachment proceedings hearing in 2019.
As part of the agreement, Shroyer consented not to &#8220;utter loud, threatening, or abusive language or engage in any disorderly or disruptive conduct&#8221; anywhere on the United States Capitol Grounds or within any of the Capitol Buildings.
But according to court filings, Shroyer warned in November 2020 that if Joe Biden became president, &#8220;it&#8217;s not going to be a million peaceful marchers in D.C.&#8221; Then, on January 6, the media personality took to a megaphone before leading a crowd to the Capitol.
&#8220;The Democrats are posing as communists, but we know what they really are,&#8221; Shroyer said on a bullhorn, according to court filings. &#8220;They&#8217;re just tyrants, they&#8217;re tyrants. And so today, on January 6, we declare death to tyranny! Death to tyrants!&#8221;
According to <a href="https://apnews.com/article/owen-shroyer-infowars-capitol-riot-sentencing-11cb087e9716061591fd46b6861c4c1c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Associated Press</a>, Shroyer pleaded guilty in June to illegally entering a restricted area, a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum sentence of one year behind bars.
During Tuesday&#8217;s sentencing hearing, NBC <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/infowars-host-owen-shroyer-sentenced-jan-6-case-rcna104378" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Shroyer told the court, &#8220;I was not a part of any larger plan for illegal activity or violence that day.&#8221;

&#8220;It was to get the attention and draw the crowds away,&#8221; he said, according to The Associated Press.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly, who just last week handed down a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/enrique-tarrio-sentenced-to-decades-behind-bars-the-longest-j6-sentence-to-date" target="_blank" rel="noopener">22-year sentence</a> in federal prison to Proud Boys founder Enrique Tarrio for his role in the Capitol breach, told the InfoWars host that he &#8220;amped up&#8221; the crowd on the Capitol steps.
&#8220;Context is everything,&#8221; the judge said. &#8220;I do not believe that you were trying to distract the crowd or turn the crowd away from the Capitol.&#8221;
Prosecutors asked the court to sentence Shroyer to 120 days in prison, including 12 months of supervised release, 60 hours of community service, and $500 in restitution.
&#8220;Such a sentence protects the community, promotes respect for the law, and deters future crime by imposing restrictions on his liberty as a consequence of his behavior, while recognizing his acceptance of responsibility for his crime,&#8221; the prosecution wrote.
Shroyer&#8217;s defense team requested in <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.234903/gov.uscourts.dcd.234903.46.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">court filings</a> on Sunday that the judge spare him incarceration, saying the case had been &#8220;characterized by a cooperative spirit between the defense and the Government,&#8221; adding their client complied with federal inspectors to search his cell phone without a warrant.
&#8220;But when Mr. Shroyer appeared at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, he wore two hats: one was that of outraged citizen who believed that an election had been rigged, the other as full-time journalist and commentator who sought a front-row seat at an historic event,&#8221; the defense wrote.
Defense attorney Norm Pattis for Shroyer said he planned to appeal the sentence and has repeatedly accused prosecutors of infringing on his client&#8217;s First Amendment rights.
&#8220;Mr. Shroyer, and every person capable of speaking in the United States, has a right to utter the speech Mr. Shroyer used. That the Government would suggest otherwise is a frightening commentary on our times,&#8221; Pattis wrote in a court filing on Sunday.
But prosecutors argue the charges against Shroyer do not infringe on his free speech rights.
&#8220;Shroyer cannot light a fire near a can of gasoline, and then express concern or disbelief when it explodes,&#8221; they wrote.
A date was not immediately set for Shroyer to report to prison.
The Associated Press reported that Shroyer joins more than 1,100 people charged with Capitol breach-related federal crimes, of which over 650 have pleaded guilty, more than 600 were sentenced, and half received terms ranging from three days to 22 years.

InfoWars owner and host Alex Jones on Tuesday spoke about his viral interview with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, in a conversation with conservative comedian and political commentator Steven Crowder.
Crowder said he invited Jones onto his show &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tHqKdM3GmU" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Louder with Crowder</a>&#8221; to provide some context after his &#8220;bumpy ride&#8221; interviewing Ye — who appeared on Infowars last week and praised Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party while simultaneously denying that six million Jewish people were killed in the Holocaust.
&#8220;I knew it was a danger,&#8221; Jones told Crowder about bringing Ye on Infowars. &#8220;But I believed it wasn&#8217;t going to happen — I would have much rather had it been a big story, and a coming together, an awakening, and then have a relationship with Ye instead of him blowing up like a sun going supernova, burning himself up.&#8221;
Jones said he brought Ye onto his platform last week to discuss issues on which the rapper and fashion designer would campaign pending a presidential run in 2024.

Ye, however, apparently jumped into his rant right away.
&#8220;He was like a whirlwind,&#8221; Jones said. &#8220;You couldn&#8217;t shut him up. He was going to say what he was going to say.&#8221;
West&#8217;s comments about Hitler follow a series of anti-Semitic remarks he made in recent weeks, which have led to upending many of his business pursuits, Elon Musk suspending his Twitter account, and reaching a divorce settlement with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian where the court ordered him to pay 200,000 a month in child support.
The rapper has also been seen recently with British provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, who accompanied Ye as uninvited guests in an apparent ambush orchestrated by Yiannopoulos to an exclusive diner with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago home two days before Thanksgiving.
Ye, who has yet to formally announce his bid for U.S. President in 2024, recently parted ways with Yiannopoulos in a &#8220;mutual conclusion&#8221; with the rapper to &#8220;step away from his political team,&#8221; The Daily Beast <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/milo-yiannopoulos-allegedly-slaps-ye-with-a-dollar100k-bill-for-campaign-consulting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Yiannopoulos, who admitted he was the &#8220;architect&#8221; inviting Fuentes to Ye&#8217;s dinner with Trump, allegedly billed the rapper $116,000 for his work, which led to the fallout between both parties.
Amid all the controversy surrounding Ye, the Infowars host told Crowder he still invited West onto his show to share his &#8220;intellectual side&#8221; before concluding the 21 Grammy award-winning artist was not well-versed in his World War II history.
&#8220;I just think what happened was he decided to go all the way,&#8221; Jones said. &#8220;He decided to try to be as shocking as possible and say screw the world. And then, once he started pressing on the dopamine button of saying the things he said — he just couldn&#8217;t stop. And so it became just the situation of red lining the engine the entire time he was on.&#8221;
Jones referred to Ye as a &#8220;savant&#8221; who wants to be a &#8220;big revolutionary,&#8221; but he and Crowder noted Ye&#8217;s disconnect with his remarks about Hitler and the Nazis.
Ye has spoken openly about his pro-life stance on abortion, which contradicts Hitler&#8217;s views on the right to life, according to both talk show hosts.
Jones claims Hitler adopted the eugenicist views of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, who subscribed to Socialist ideologies — like the Nazi Party leader. According to Planned Parenthood&#8217;s <a href="https://www.plannedparenthood.org/about-us/who-we-are/our-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>, eugenics is described as an &#8220;inherently racist and ableist ideology that labeled certain people unfit to have children.&#8221;
Crowder and Jones said despite Ye&#8217;s rants on Hitler and Nazism, they don&#8217;t believe the rapper has &#8220;hate in his heart.&#8221;
&#8220;At the end of the day, that&#8217;s not the case,&#8221; Jones said. &#8220;The left has adopted so many of the actual Nazi tactics of control and their whole system of lockdowns,&#8221; referring to the Chinese Communist Party controlling citizens by white medical uniformed members. &#8220;That&#8217;s the real type of ideology that the Nazis were striving for.&#8221;
&#8220;That&#8217;s what I would try to tell [Ye] . . . when he&#8217;s not as manic,&#8221; Jones said.

<a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/infowars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Infowars</a> founder <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/alex-jones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alex Jones</a> filed for personal bankruptcy Friday, citing the almost $1.5 billion in payments he was ordered to pay the families of children killed in the shooting at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sandy-hook" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sandy Hook</a> Elementary School.
The conspiracy theorist filed the Chapter 11 documents with the Southern District of Texas months after Free Speech Systems, the parent company of Infowars, also folded over the summer, according to a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/02/us/politics/alex-jones-bankruptcy.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from The New York Times. Jones had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/alex-jones-gets-assets-frozen-now-has-to-pay-almost-1-5-billion-to-sandy-hook-families" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a> for years that the 2012 attack, in which the shooter murdered 26 people, including 20 children, was a false flag operation meant to help the government confiscate citizens’ firearms. He was ordered last month to fork over $473 million on top of the $965 million he had already been ordered to pay.
Jones owns between $1 million and $10 million in assets, but owes between $1 billion and $10 billion in liabilities, according to a <a href="https://www.axios.com/2022/12/02/alex-jones-bankrupt-infowars-chapter-11-bankruptcy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from Axios. The commentator owes money to between 50 and 99 parties.
News of the bankruptcy broke one day after Jones <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kanye-ye-west-i-like-hitler-i-see-good-things-about-hitler-stop-dissing-the-nazis-he-didnt-kill-6-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hosted</a> rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes on his show. During the program, Ye praised Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler in his latest tirade against Jewish people, leading Twitter CEO Elon Musk to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-suspends-kanye-ye-west-from-twitter-issues-1-word-statement-after-his-decision" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suspend</a> the former husband of Kim Kardashian from the platform.
The bankruptcy further decreases the likelihood that Jones will be able to make the payments to the Sandy Hook families, who he accused of working as crisis actors for the federal government. Christopher Mattei, a lawyer representing the Sandy Hook families, had celebrated the most recent decision mandating that Jones reimburse the parents in an <a href="https://twitter.com/ChrisMatteiCT/status/1590778197834010624" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a> posted to social media. “Justice requires that he pay every penny,” he said.
Connecticut Judge Barbara Bellis said in a ruling that Jones’ actions were “cruel” and “persistent” over an extended period of time, establishing “the highest degree of reprehensibility and blameworthiness.” A separate order prohibited Jones from moving assets out of the country.
“The record clearly supports the plaintiffs’ argument that the defendants’ conduct was intentional and malicious, and certain to cause harm by virtue of their infrastructure, ability to spread content, and massive audience including the ‘infowarriors,’” Bellis wrote. “The record also establishes that the defendants repeated the conduct and attacks on the plaintiffs for nearly a decade, including during the trial, wanton, malicious, and heinous conduct that caused harm to the plaintiffs.”
Prosecutors asked Bellis two months ago to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sandy-hook-families-demand-new-unimaginable-sum-of-money-from-alex-jones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increase</a> the $965 million ruling to $2.75 trillion, since Jones allegedly broke a Connecticut law banning the sale of goods through false statements. The figure was calculated by multiplying the $5,000 maximum penalty under state law by 550 million social media views Jones garnered in the three years after the shooting.
A separate jury in Texas ordered Jones to pay $4.1 million in compensatory damages and $45.2 million in punitive damages, a figure that may be reduced as a result of state laws capping the size of the penalty. Families of the Sandy Hook victims began taking legal action against Jones, as well as Free Speech Systems, the parent company of Infowars, four years ago.

West&#8217;s comments about Hitler follow a series of anti-Semitic remarks that he has made in recent weeks, upending many of his business pursuits.
A small sample of some of the anti-Semitic remarks that West has made include him <a href="https://forward.com/culture/523287/every-antisemitic-thing-kanye-has-said-so-far/">saying</a> that he wanted to go “death con 3” on “JEWISH PEOPLE”; saying his children could learn “financial engineering” in a Jewish school; blaming “Jewish Zionists” for his problems, blaming his marriage ending with Kim Kardashian on the “Zionist media handlers surrounding her,” blaming his mental health diagnosis on a Jewish doctor, and showing a list of the Jews that he believes control the media.
During the interview on Infowars, West was dressed in all black, wearing a heavy black coat, a black balaclava that covered his entire head and face, and black gloves.
Jones tried to defend West at one point, saying that West was not a Nazi and that he did not deserve to be &#8220;called that and demonized.&#8221;
West pushed back on that statement, saying: &#8220;Well, I see good things about Hitler, also. I love everyone. And Jewish people are not going to tell me &#8216;you can love us and you can love what we&#8217;re doing to you with the contracts, and you can love what we&#8217;re pushing with the pornography, but this guy [Hitler] that invented highways and invented the very microphone that I use as a musician &#8211; you cannot say out loud that this person ever did anything good.&#8217; And I&#8217;m done with that. I&#8217;m done with the classifications. Every human being has something of value that they bring to the table, especially Hitler.&#8221;

<a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/infowars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Infowars</a> founder Alex Jones was ordered to pay another $473 million to the families of children killed in the shooting at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sandy-hook" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sandy Hook</a> Elementary School, adding to the $965 million he has already been told to pay.
Jones had asserted for years that the 2012 attack, in which the shooter murdered 26 people, including 20 children, was a hoax meant to help the federal government confiscate citizens’ firearms. The conspiracy theorist must pay a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-alex-jones-ordered-to-pay-nearly-1-billion-to-families-of-sandy-hook-victims" target="_blank" rel="noopener">combined</a> $1.44 billion to the victims’ families.
“The record clearly supports the plaintiffs’ argument that the defendants’ conduct was intentional and malicious, and certain to cause harm by virtue of their infrastructure, ability to spread content, and massive audience including the ‘infowarriors,’” Connecticut Judge Barbara Bellis wrote in her ruling. “The record also establishes that the defendants repeated the conduct and attacks on the plaintiffs for nearly a decade, including during the trial, wanton, malicious, and heinous conduct that caused harm to the plaintiffs. This depravity, and cruel, persistent course of conduct by the defendants establishes the highest degree of reprehensibility and blameworthiness.”
Christopher Mattei, a lawyer representing the Sandy Hook families, celebrated the decision in an <a href="https://twitter.com/ChrisMatteiCT/status/1590778197834010624" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a> posted to social media. Jones had claimed that the parents of the slaughtered children were crisis actors. “Justice requires that he pay every penny,” he said.
A separate one-page order prohibited Jones from relocating assets out of the country. “With the exception of ordinary living expenses, the defendant Alex Jones is not to transfer, encumber, dispose, or move his assets out of the United States, until further order of the court,” Bellis said.
The latest verdict also follows a ruling from a separate jury in Texas, which ordered Jones to pay $4.1 million in compensatory damages and $45.2 million in punitive damages, a figure that may be reduced due to state laws capping the size of the penalty. Families of the Sandy Hook victims began taking legal action against Jones, as well as Free Speech Systems, the parent company of Infowars, four years ago.
Prosecutors in the Connecticut lawsuit argued that the sanction was derived from the number of impressions Jones had garnered online for his claims. “You may say that is astronomical. It is,” Mattei told jurors. “It’s exactly what Alex Jones set himself up to do. That’s what he built. He built a lie machine that could push this stuff out. You reap what you sow.”
The families asked Bellis last month to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sandy-hook-families-demand-new-unimaginable-sum-of-money-from-alex-jones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increase</a> the $965 million ruling to $2.75 trillion, since Jones allegedly broke a Connecticut law banning the sale of goods through false statements. The figure was calculated by multiplying the $5,000 maximum penalty under state law by 550 million social media views Jones received in the three years following the shooting.
Infowars <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sandy-hook-families-demand-alex-jones-surrender-media-company-control-accuse-him-of-funneling-assets" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed for bankruptcy</a> earlier this year amid the legal quagmire. Another lawsuit claimed Jones had been hiding money, citing his $62 million in withdrawals from the company over the past three years. According to bankruptcy documents, nine Sandy Hook families requested for a trustee to control Free Speech Systems, which owes $54 million to PQPR Holdings, a firm with ties to Jones and his parents.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sandy-hook" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sandy Hook</a> families are asking a Connecticut judge to order <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alex-jones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alex Jones</a> to pay them trillions of dollars in damages in addition to the $965 million that jurors ordered Jones to pay the families earlier this month.
The families claimed that they are entitled to the money because they allege that Jones broke a state law that bans the sale of goods through the use of false statements.
Bloomberg News <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-10-21/sandy-hook-families-seek-2-75-trillion-from-alex-jones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the families arrived at $2.75 trillion by taking the maximum penalty allowed under state law, $5,000, and multiplying it by 550 million social media views that Jones got on his social media accounts in the three years following the 2012 shooting.
&#8220;Alex Jones perpetrates this attack for one reason: greed,&#8221; the families’ lawyers said in a filing on Friday. &#8220;Alex Jones will never treat them like real people, because they are too valuable to him as targets.&#8221;

William Aldenberg, who as an FBI agent responded to the December 14, 2012 shooting at a Connecticut elementary school and testified at the Connecticut trial to determine how much Jones must pay in damages, was one of the government witnesses in the trial. He told the jury he was hurt by Jones’ claims the shooting, in which 20 first-graders and six educators were killed, was a hoax perpetrated by “crisis actors.”
“No, no. No, sir,” an emotional Aldenberg testified when attorney Christopher Mattei, who represented families of the victims, asked if there were any actors at the school. “No. It’s awful, awful.”

Aldenberg and the families of eight victims were awarded a total of $965 million Wednesday by a jury in Connecticut. The verdict was the second against InfoWars founder Jones, following a ruling from a separate jury in Texas ordered Jones to pay $4.1 million in compensatory damages and $45.2 million in punitive damages, an amount that may soon be reduced due to state laws capping the amount of damages.
The Connecticut case involved 15 plaintiffs including parents who lost children in the shooting and Aldenberg. A third case brought in Texas, where Jones’ company, Free Speech Systems, is based, has yet to be scheduled. Jones has filed for bankruptcy and says he doesn’t have the money to pay any of the awards.
Aldenberg has been identified as the lead investigator for Durham, the former U.S. Attorney for Connecticut who was appointed by former Attorney General William Barr to investigate how an actual hoax, Trump-Russia collusion, originated. Durham’s team is currently prosecuting Igor Danchenko, a key sub-source for the discredited Steele dossier, for allegedly lying to the FBI.
Few details are publicly known about the makeup of Durham&#8217;s team, but The Conservative Treehouse, an influential blog run by a conservative sleuth known as Sundance, <a href="https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2020/08/22/my-discussion-with-john-durhams-lead-investigator-william-aldenberg/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">identified Aldenberg</a> as Durham&#8217;s key man in 2020 and met with him the same year. It is unknown if Aldenberg is still on the team.

According to a <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/25/us/politics/alex-jones-lawsuits-bankruptcy.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> by The New York Times, Sandy Hook victims have accused Jones of funneling millions of dollars to himself and family members while claiming his pockets are empty.
“Alex Jones is not financially bankrupt; he is morally bankrupt, which is becoming more and more clear as we discover his plots to hide money and evade responsibility,” Kyle Farrar, a lawyer for the families, said, according to The New York Times. “He used lies to amass a fortune, and now he is using lies and fiction to shield his money.”
According to <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://ecf.txsb.uscourts.gov/doc1/178148499722?pdf_header=&amp;magic_num=90489165&amp;de_seq_num=363&amp;caseid=457706&amp;att_num=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filings</a> in the Houston bankruptcy court, nine Sandy Hook victims&#8217; families have urged a trustee to take control of Infowar&#8217;s parent company, Free Speech Systems, which owes $54 million to PQPR Holdings, which has ties to Jones and his parents.
The families&#8217; lawyers called the debt “a centerpiece of Jones&#8217;s plan to avoid compensating the Sandy Hook families.”
Holdings has “no services, has no employees and has no warehouse,” the Sandy Hook lawyers claimed, adding that “money that Free Speech Systems pays PQPR ends up in Alex Jones&#8217;s pockets.”
Jones allegedly transferred approximately $62 million from his company to several accounts linked to himself and family members when the Sandy Hook families filed the lawsuit against him in 2018.
R.J. Shannon, a lawyer for Jones, said the team would file a response “soon,” with no further comment, according to The New York Times.

In closing comments on Friday, Lewis and Heslin&#8217;s attorney Todd Ball told the jury: “We ask that you send a very, very simple message, and that is, stop Alex Jones. Stop the monetization of misinformation and lies. Please.”
Jones’ attorney Andino Reynal argued to the jury that a fair fine for the Infowars host would be roughly a quarter of a million dollars, according to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/05/media/alex-jones-punitive-damages-sandy-hook/index.html">CNN</a>. Reynal said Jones should be fined according to his purported earnings of $14,000 per hour for the 18 hours he made false claims about Sandy Hook in the aftermath of the shooting.
Reynal had also asked the jury for a low penalty the day before when the jury was set to decide compensatory damages. Reynal argued that Jones had made a “terrible mistake” and asked the jury to fine his client just $1.
“He made a terrible mistake,” Reynal told jurors, according to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/alex-jones-must-pay-41-million-parents-sandy-hook-school-massacre-vict-rcna41493">NBC News</a>. “That mistake was weaponized by the same political forces that had descended upon Sandy Hook when it happened.”
During the trial, Jones testified that the media and his critics had never allowed for him to take back his comments, despite his retractions and admissions that he was wrong.
Both parents <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/parents-6-year-old-sandy-hook-victim-say-alex-jones-made-life-living-h-rcna41204">testified</a> during the trial. Heslin said that “the negligence and recklessness of Alex Jones” had made his life a “living hell.”
Lewis said, “having a 6-year-old son shot in front of his classroom is unbearable and you don’t think you’re going to survive and then to have someone on top of that perpetuate a lie that it was a hoax, that it was a false flag.”
“I don’t think you understand the fear you perpetuate, not just to the victim’s family but to our family, our friends and any survivor from that school,” Lewis added.
