More details have been revealed about the foiled plot to carry out a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/terrorism">terror attack</a> at a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taylor-swift">Taylor Swift</a> concert in Vienna.
Two suspects were found to have links to the Islamic State group and al-Qaeda, per a new AP <a href="https://apnews.com/article/austria-taylor-swift-concerts-canceled-extremism-arrests-17b494f1a164b205128d7faeb607e731">report</a>. Austrian investigators noted that the teens intended to carry out the attack using explosive materials and knives recovered from one of their homes.
All three of Swift’s sold-out <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">shows</a> scheduled for Vienna have been canceled. The attack was planned for Thursday or Friday.
The main suspect is a 19-year-old Austrian citizen who has been planning the attack since July, the outlet noted. The unidentified individual shared an oath of allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State group weeks ago and recently broke up with his girlfriend.
“He wanted to carry out an attack in the area outside the stadium, killing as many people as possible using the knives or even using the explosive devices he had made,” Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, the head of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, said.
He said the teen’s confession showed he had been “clearly radicalized in the direction of the Islamic State and thinks it is right to kill infidels.”
AP noted that the second suspect, a 17-year-old Austrian, was employed by a company providing services for the concert venue and was detained near the stadium where Swift was slated to perform.

A 15-year-old who was in contact with both suspects was also questioned by law enforcement. The two main suspects were arrested, but their names are being withheld due to the country’s privacy laws.
Swift has not publicly commented on the situation yet. Austrian Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler <a href="https://x.com/WKogler/status/1821307998842524105">shared</a> a reaction on X: “For many, a dream has been shattered today. On three evenings in Vienna, tens of thousands of #Swifties should have celebrated life together,” the translation said.
“I am very sorry that you were denied this. Swifties stick together, hate and terror can’t destroy that,” Kogler added.
Austrian concert organizer Barracuda Music said all ticket-holders would be refunded. Multiple outlets reported on crowds of disappointed fans taking to the streets and staging impromptu sing-a-longs at local venues.
Swift is still scheduled to perform five shows in London starting August 15. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said the city would “carry on” with the shows, per Sky News.
“I’m sure Vienna has got its own reasons to cancel the Taylor Swift concerts, we’re going to carry on, working closely with police (and) ensuring that the Taylor Swift concerts can take place in London safely.”
In 2017, suicide bomber Salman Abedi killed 22 people and injured more than 100 at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, with a bomb stashed in his backpack.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/al-qaeda" target="_blank" rel="noopener">terrorist group</a> responsible for the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States — which resulted in thousands of Americans being killed — praised the left-wing pro-Hamas protesters who have disrupted college campuses over the last two months.
The protests that erupted in April led to encampments popping up at various top universities across the U.S. as Jewish students and law enforcement were attacked and the protesters called for the destruction of the state of Israel and, in some cases, went further by calling for an &#8220;Intifada,&#8221; which is a terrorist attacks against Jews or the state of Israel. Professional agitators helped whip up the chaos at many of the schools, according to various law enforcement officials.
The Islamic terrorist group said in a statement that &#8220;every Muslim was happy&#8221; with the attacks on Israel that were carried out by &#8220;the youth of the Islamic nation.&#8221;
&#8220;While we support the assassination of the infidel Zionists and the beheading of them, we also appreciate and value the movement of Western demonstrators and sit-in students from Western universities, who through their sit-ins and protests expressed their rejection of the genocide taking place in Gaza,&#8221; the terrorist group <a href="https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2024/05/al-qaedas-general-command-lauds-attacks-against-jews-commends-anti-israel-protests-on-western-campuses.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
The Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, which is based in Lebanon, also praised the protesters earlier this month.

“When the American people take a stand in support of Gaza … we salute and applaud them,” said Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem. “We appreciate and value this very much. … The [campus protests] are important, especially because they will have an impact on the U.S. elections. They will have an impact on the American position. Even if Biden says that he will not be influenced by this, he will whether he likes it or not. We will see him taking actions because of the protesters’ influence on him.”
The protests have also been praised by Hamas, the Iranian-backed terrorist group that murdered 1,200 people on October 7, and the Houthis, an Iranian-backed terrorist group based in Yemen that is responsible for attacking dozens of merchant ships in the Red Sea over the past several months.
The Islamic Republic of Iran also announced its support for the left-wing protesters on Wednesday with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei posting on X: &#8220;Dear university students in the United States of America, you are standing on the right side of history.&#8221;

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/biden-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Biden administration</a> admitted on Thursday that it killed a civilian shepherd in a drone strike in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/syria" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Syria</a> last year instead of a “senior Al Qaeda official,” as it had initially claimed. 
After a months-long investigation into a unilateral counterterrorism air strike in Northwest Syria on May 3, 2023, intended to take out a top Al Qaeda official, U.S. Central Command <a href="https://www.centcom.mil/MEDIA/PRESS-RELEASES/Press-Release-View/Article/3763291/may-3-2023-investigation-findings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a summary of its findings that U.S. forces had mistakenly identified and taken out a civilian instead of a terrorist. 
“The investigation determined U.S. forces misidentified the intended Al Qaeda target and that a civilian, Mr. Lufti Hasan Masto (Masto), was struck and killed instead,” CENTCOM said. “Many of the facts and other findings of the investigation involve classified information and cannot be shared publicly.”
CENTCOM Commander General Michael Erik Kurilla ordered an investigation into the strike on June 6, 2023, after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-admin-walks-back-claim-that-it-killed-major-al-qaeda-figure-in-airstrike-killed-father-of-10-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> that an Al Qaeda operative had not actually been killed in the strike. The investigation was conducted by U.S. Army Brigadier General John P. Cogbill and concluded on November 15, 2023.
The investigative team included ten senior service members and civilian employees not involved with the strike, but with knowledge of intelligence, armed conflicts, and targeting operations, according to CENTCOM. 
CENTCOM said the team interviewed over 40 witnesses and visited locations in the United States, Iraq, and Jordan. The investigation came weeks after a Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/05/02/syria-drone-strike-military-investigation/#:~:text=A%20U.S.%20drone%20strike%20in,pledge%20to%20curb%20such%20incidents.">report</a> raising questions about the strike. 
While the report said that the strike did kill a civilian, it said the strike was done in accordance with both international law and U.S. Military policies. 
“We are committed to learning from this incident and improving our targeting processes to mitigate potential civilian harm,” CENTCOM said. “U.S. Central Command acknowledges and regrets the civilian harm that resulted from the airstrike. We take all reports of civilian harm caused by U.S. military operations seriously and continue to employ thorough and deliberate targeting and strike processes to minimize civilian harm.”

The incident is similar to a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-centcom-issues-new-statement-on-strike-against-isis-target-we-are-investigating-further" target="_blank" rel="noopener">drone strike</a> the Biden administration made in August 2021 during President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan where the administration claimed to have “conducted a self-defense unmanned over-the-horizon airstrike today on a vehicle in Kabul, eliminating an imminent ISIS-K threat to Hamid Karzai International airport.”
However, the administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-pentagon-confirms-children-killed-in-drone-strike-in-afghanistan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> a couple of weeks later that the drone strike was a tragic mistake that killed 10 civilians, including seven children.

The Islamic terrorist group <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/al-qaeda" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Al Qaeda</a> is reportedly rapidly growing in size inside of Afghanistan just a couple of years after President Joe Biden&#8217;s disastrous withdrawal from the country.
A <a href="https://www.longwarjournal.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/N2343179.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from the U.N. Security Council at the end of last month said that despite the Taliban&#8217;s claims, &#8220;the relationship between the Taliban and Al-Qaida remains close, and the latter maintains a holding pattern in Afghanistan under Taliban patronage.&#8221;
The report said that the Taliban is trying to hide its relationship with Al Qaeda even though many inside the Taliban share the same extreme ideology.
The report claimed that the group was not strong enough yet to start carrying out terrorist attacks overseas, but noted that the terrorist group has &#8220;established up to eight new training camps in Afghanistan, including four in Ghazni, Laghman, Parwan and Uruzgan Provinces, with a new base to stockpile weaponry in the Panjshir Valley.&#8221;
Al Qaeda has also established five madrasas, a school for Islamic indoctrination, in Laghman, Kunar, Nangarhar, Nuristan, and Parwan Provinces.
&#8220;The group maintains safe houses to facilitate the movement between Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Provinces of Herat, Farah and Helmand, with additional safe house locations in Kabul,&#8221; the report added.

A separate <a href="https://www.sigar.mil/pdf/quarterlyreports/2024-01-30qr.pdf#page=50" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), also released at the end of last month, said that it was unclear whether the Taliban could or was willing to stop Islamic terrorist groups inside the country from being able to conduct operations beyond its borders and from allowing foreign fighters from coming to the country to join the groups.
&#8220;The movement of weapons, ammunition, and explosives—many seized from the former U.S.-funded Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF)—remains a security concern,&#8221; the report said.
&#8220;This quarter, Al Qaeda’s general command, believed to be based in Afghanistan, released three press statements calling for attacks on American, European, and Israeli embassies and buildings globally in response to the Israel-Hamas war,&#8221; the report said, adding that while the group is rebuilding, it is committed to carrying out attacks against the West.

It&#8217;s been more than two years since the United States abandoned its allies in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/afghanistan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Afghanistan</a>.
While America seems to have moved on from this dark page of history, many of our veterans have not. Veteran volunteer groups like <a href="https://www.moralcompassfederation.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moral Compass Federation</a> continue to sound the alarm, because the terror warning dashboard light on Afghanistan is now blinking red.
As we enter this turbulent election year, a serious national security threat of global terrorism has been eclipsed by sensational <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-delays-verdict-in-trumps-ny-civil-business-fraud-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">civil trials</a> and unprecedented partisan mudslinging. In order to bring the terror threat into sharp focus this election year, here are three things that might surprise you about Afghanistan:
<h4>An Estimated <a href="https://www.voanews.com/a/afghanistan-reemerging-as-a-terrorism-incubator-/7230546.html">20 Terror Groups</a> Are Operating In Afghanistan</h4>
The son of Osama bin Laden, Abdallah bin Laden, has been spotted as recently as 2023 in Ghazni and Kandahar Provinces. Is he enjoying the tourist season in Afghanistan? Doubtful. A new report from the UN Security Council paints a <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/experts-terrorist-threat-high-africa-conflict-zones-afghanistan-106885842" target="_blank" rel="noopener">grim picture</a> of <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/2024/02/01/al-qaida-islamic-state-terrorist-threats-africa-afghanistan/adce324a-c16e-11ee-a4c6-8f5c350e9316_story.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">terror threats</a> in Afghanistan. <a href="https://ctc.westpoint.edu/the-enduring-duel-islamic-state-khorasans-survival-under-afghanistans-new-rulers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ISIS-K </a>currently presents the greatest threat. They are assessed by the UN intelligence community as capable of projecting effective terror threats on a global level. Al-Qaeda is also re-generating rapidly from a strategic messaging entity to an operational force. While they only possess a regional capacity at the moment, they have aspirations (and the potential) to strike on a global scale. This is evidenced by the fact that Al-Qaeda has reportedly opened eight new <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/afghanistan-taliban-al-qaeda-growing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">training camps</a> in Afghanistan. There are also five Al-Qaeda sponsored <a href="https://www.fdd.org/analysis/op_eds/2024/02/01/al-qaeda-opens-8-new-training-camps-5-madrasas-and-a-facilitation-network-to-iran-in-afghanistan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">madrasas</a> inside Afghanistan&#8217;s borders where thousands of future terrorists are radicalized for future strikes, regionally and globally.
<h4>The State Department Sends $80 Million To The Taliban Every 10-14 Days</h4>
<a href="https://freebeacon.com/national-security/taliban-controlled-afghanistan-gets-80-million-cash-infusion-every-two-weeks-watchdog-says/">According</a> to the UN, there&#8217;s been more than $2 billion sent to the Taliban since the collapse. While the Biden administration contends that these funds are used for humanitarian aid, veterans&#8217; groups and intelligence insiders assert that much of this money gets funneled into other nefarious uses, including into madrassas. More than two million students have graduated from these institutions of radicalization since the collapse in Afghanistan. There is little to no external oversight inside Afghanistan to ensure this foreign aid is applied responsibly, and not for terrorist activities. In fact, John Sopkos, Director of the Special Investigator General for Afghanistan Reconstruction <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/defense/3959603-afghanistan-watchdog-cant-guarantee-us-tax-dollars-not-currently-funding-the-taliban/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a recent 2023 Congressional Testimony that he &#8220;cannot assure this committee or the American taxpayer [that] we are not currently funding the Taliban.&#8221; 
<h4>A Small Group Of Afghans Are Actively Resisting The Taliban</h4>
The NRF is led by <a href="https://www.mccaininstitute.org/the-sedona-forum/speaker/ahmad-massoud/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ahmad Massoud</a>, the son of the slain Northern Alliance Leader, Ahmad Shah Massoud, killed by Al-Qaeda suicide bombers just before the attacks on September 11, 2001. As Afghanistan collapsed, resistance fighters consolidated in the Panjshir Valley of Northeast Afghanistan to make their stand against the oppressive Taliban rule. It hasn&#8217;t been easy. The NRF has almost no external support. The State Department refuses to officially engage the political wing of the NRF, opting instead to push for engagement with the Taliban — a group who practices a neanderthal version of “gender apartheid” on a grand scale. Yet the NRF conducts <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/no-current-talks-with-taliban-afghanistans-massoud-says-promising-guerrilla-2023-09-29/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">determined attacks</a> against the Taliban and their Al-Qaeda Allies. The resistance is the only force attempting to disrupt otherwise unfettered terror activity in this safe haven we created by our irresponsible exit. Many veterans, concerned with the growing terror threat in Afghanistan have voiced their support for the NRF in an organization called <a href="https://www.vets4nrf.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vets4NRF</a>.
The abandonment of our Afghan Allies of 20 years heaped a moral injury on an entire generation of American Veterans who voluntarily fought the longest war in American History. This violation of a strict veteran code of never abandoning our allies by our political, diplomatic, and senior military leaders has resulted in increased mental health issues across the veteran community. It has also contributed to recruiting and retention issues in the military.
We shouldn’t turn the page on Afghanistan. If we do, our enemies have a vote in the outcome, and they&#8217;ll make us pay for it. Veterans serve as our moral compass when institutional leadership fails. They should get loud this election year. They should continue to demand support for our at-risk and highly vetted allies. Helping our Afghan Allies, helps our veterans.
We also need Americans to bring the growing threat in Afghanistan back onto the main stage this election year. The NRF isn&#8217;t looking for American boots on the ground. Perhaps instead of cutting those 40-million-dollar-a-week checks to the Taliban, we should send them to the only outfit that&#8217;s directly standing up to terrorism, the NRF.
Because if we stay on this current path of directly financing terror groups and pretending the Taliban will behave in our best interest, there will be American boots on the ground, only they&#8217;ll be worn by our children.

News Nation host Chris Cuomo slammed college kids that are siding with the Palestinian terrorists who attacked Israel three weeks ago, saying that if there had been this kind of reaction on college campuses after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that things would have quickly gotten violent.
Cuomo&#8217;s remarks come as there have been anti-Semitic demonstrations held at many of the top universities across the U.S. in recent days organized by the far-left.
&#8220;America was asked by those in the region to exercise restraint after 9/11,&#8221; Cuomo said on Tuesday night. &#8220;Do you remember that? If you&#8217;re under 30- something, you probably don&#8217;t. Google it. College campuses weren&#8217;t calling for a ceasefire the same way then. And America likely would have ignored it.&#8221;
&#8220;Or, I&#8217;ll tell you really the truth, and I don&#8217;t like to say this, if these college kids had been mouthing off about &#8216;we got what we deserved&#8217; the way they&#8217;re saying about Israel right now, this would have been a very violent time in this country,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And thank God it didn&#8217;t happen then and I hope it doesn&#8217;t happen.&#8221;
Cuomo said that regardless of whether people agreed with the war in Iraq after 9/11, the country never would have tolerated support for the terrorist groups that were responsible.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/biden-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Biden administration</a> officials are reportedly walking back claims that they made earlier this month when they claimed that they had killed a major figure in the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda.
The move by U.S. officials comes after the slain man&#8217;s family and others who knew him claimed that the father of 10, a former bricklayer, had no ties to terrorism and was tending to his sheep when he was hit by a Hellfire missile in Syria.
U.S. officials claimed shortly after the strike that the Predator drone had taken out a “senior Al Qaeda leader” — even though they did not provide proof or name the suspect.
The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/05/18/pentagon-drone-strike-syria-civilian-al-qaeda/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=wp_main" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that 56-year-old Lotfi Hassan Misto was the person killed in the strike.
“We are no longer confident we killed a senior AQ official,” a U.S. official told the Post.
Another U.S. official added, “though we believe the strike did not kill the original target, we believe the person to be al-Qaeda.”
The Pentagon has been tight lipped about the strike and has not released any information about who their target was, if the target escaped, and what information they had indicating that Misto was an al-Qaeda terrorist.
“Centcom takes all such allegations seriously and is investigating to determine whether or not the action may have unintentionally resulted in harm to civilians,” said Michael Lawhorn, a spokesman for Central Command.
The incident is reminiscent of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-centcom-issues-new-statement-on-strike-against-isis-target-we-are-investigating-further">drone strike</a> the Biden administration made in August 2021 during President Joe Biden&#8217;s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan where the administration claimed to have &#8220;conducted a self-defense unmanned over-the-horizon airstrike today on a vehicle in Kabul, eliminating an imminent ISIS-K threat to Hamad Karzai International airport.&#8221;
&#8220;We are confident we successfully hit the target,&#8221; the administration claimed. &#8220;Significant secondary explosions from the vehicle indicated the presence of a substantial amount of explosive material.&#8221;
However, the administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-pentagon-confirms-children-killed-in-drone-strike-in-afghanistan">admitted</a> a couple of weeks later that the drone strike was a tragic mistake that killed 10 civilians, including seven children.

The Biden administration on Thursday <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/biden-guantanamo-detainee-majid-khan-transferred-belize-rcna68166" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resettled a terrorist</a> from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, who served as a direct subordinate to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the Al Qaeda terrorist who was the principal architect of the  September 11, 2001, attacks.
Majid Khan was sent to Belize; he is the first detainee resettled by the Biden administration. He joined Al Qaeda after the 9/11 attacks and was later arrested in Karachi in March 2003. After he was captured, he <a href="https://www.aei.org/foreign-and-defense-policy/terrorism/majid-khan-the-terrorist-who-gave-the-cia-information-that-broke-up-the-west-coast-plot-is-charged-at-guantanamo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed information</a> about an Al Qaeda plot to hijack an airplane and fly it into the Library Tower in Los Angeles, the tallest building on the West Coast at the time. In 2012, Khan was charged with conspiracy, murder, and attempted murder in violation of the law of war, providing material support for terrorism, and spying. He pled guilty in February 2012 to conspiracy, murder in violation of the law of war, attempted murder in violation of the law of war, providing material support for terrorism, and spying and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
In June 2022, Khan’s lawyers filed a petition to force the Biden administration to release him as his sentence had ended in March 2022, claiming any place but his native Pakistan would be acceptable, <a href="https://int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/Majid-Khan-post-sentence-habeas/60d6b3ad864a0f48/full.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">writing</a> that because he had cooperated with the American government the “risk of harm is so great that Petitioner can never return to Pakistan where he would face persecution.”
“Petitioner has repeatedly, publicly expressed regret for his actions, apologized to the victims of his offenses and their families, and explained his decision to cooperate with U.S. authorities against Al Qaeda for more than a decade as an effort to atone for his offenses,” the petition stated.
“In October 2021, after a sentencing hearing at U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a panel of military officers sitting as a military commission sentenced Mr. Khan to 26 years of confinement,” the U.S. Defense Department <a href="https://www.defense.gov/News/Releases/Release/Article/2964357/convening-authority-takes-action-on-sentence-in-us-v-majid-khan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>. “The panel also recommended Mr. Khan receive clemency.”
A senior State Department official commented on the willingness of Belize to accept Khan, saying, “This is a political ask. Belize was a great choice because, ultimately, we have a lot of things to do with them. &#8230; They asked all the right questions when this process started,” and did a “terrific job of trying to evaluate” whether they were making the correct decision.
“We are very satisfied the things we asked of them they can do and will do,” the official concluded.

Have America&#8217;s enemies ever had a better friend than <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">President Joe Biden</a>?
The Chinese Communist Party, the drug cartels of Mexico, the Taliban, and a villain nicknamed the &#8220;Merchant of Death&#8221; — among others — have all received handouts, half-hearted condemnations, and diplomatic hugs from the Biden gang.
Most recently, it would appear that the United States was manhandled by Russia into releasing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wnba-star-brittney-griner-freed-from-russian-prison-in-swap-for-arms-dealer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Viktor Bout</a> — an arms dealer accused of selling weapons to Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and other nefarious groups all over the world. In exchange, the U.S. received WNBA star Britney Griner – an apparent pothead who detests America&#8217;s national anthem — who was arrested in Russia last February.
U.S. Marine Paul Whelan remains in captivity. Why did Griner get released? It seems that was all Ol&#8217; Vladdy Putin offered, but the White House press secretary was sure to mention that Griner&#8217;s release was important because she is a &#8220;role model and inspiration to millions of Americans, particularly the LGBTQI+ Americans and women of color.&#8221;
Much ink has been spilled over the lopsided trade, but Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-democrat-senator-blasts-biden-over-releasing-terrorist-for-griner-deeply-disturbing-decision" target="_blank" rel="noopener">perhaps put it best</a> by describing it as a &#8220;deeply disturbing decision&#8221; and an invitation for &#8220;dictatorial and rogue regimes to use Americans overseas as bargaining chips.&#8221;
Now there&#8217;s a concern from some in the Defense Department that Bout <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/pentagon-merchant-death-viktor-bout-arms-trafficking-brittney-griner-exchange" target="_blank" rel="noopener">could return</a> to his former proclivities. No duh.
Griner will likely go back to smoking pot. Meanwhile, Russian propagandists will <a href="https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1601274662620581888" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continue laughing</a>.
Then there&#8217;s the Chinese Communist Party.
They have skated free of any blame for COVID while the Biden administration has refused to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-releases-tepid-statement-on-protests-in-china" target="_blank" rel="noopener">forcefully condemn</a> their zero COVID policy, which — when applied — turns into total tyranny. The president&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-kerry-blames-recent-covid-bout-for-failed-climate-change-talks-with-china" target="_blank" rel="noopener">climate envoy John Kerry</a> has also largely been ignored by the Red Dragon. America&#8217;s energy industry is suffering while China barrels full steam ahead.
No surprise there though, even before getting into office Biden was saying China wasn&#8217;t &#8220;competition&#8221; for the U.S. He was only half-correct: They aren&#8217;t our competitor — they are our<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/china-the-enemy-within" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> foremost adversar</a>y.
The folks in Washington have also removed sanctions on Venezuela — a socialist country historically not-so-keen on America. Socialist oil is fine, but American produced? No bueno for Biden.
Drug cartels have also found prosperity under this administration. The Biden administration&#8217;s decision to dismantle former President Donald J. Trump&#8217;s illegal immigration policy has resulted in the invasion we now see at the border.
With the flood of illegal aliens has come copious amounts of drugs — especially the all-too-deadly fentanyl which has killed Americans by the hundreds of thousands over the last few years.
The result has been called a &#8220;<a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2022/sep/27/20-billion-payday-joe-bidens-border-surge-sends-sm/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$20 billion payday</a>&#8221; for these thugs below the border.
The crisis also benefits China — which often makes the synthetic version of the narcotic before it gets shipped to Mexico where it is made into its final form. The U.S. has had some success in slowing down such fatalities — but that’s in spite of Biden’s border policies — not because of them.
Congressman David Trone (D-MD) recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/more-important-things-going-on-biden-spits-in-the-face-of-every-american-with-latest-excuse-for-not-visiting-border" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> NPR, “Our success right now on slowing or stopping the movement of fentanyl across the border is close to zero. We are failing because we have two partners, China and Mexico, who have chosen not to participate in any meaningful way to help us.”
Even in that analysis from a Democratic congressman, China is referred to as America&#8217;s &#8220;partner&#8221; — not our enemy.
Now, let&#8217;s get to the Taliban.
Critics argue that Trump treated those jihadists pretty well by negotiating the withdrawal of U.S. troops and <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/trump-5000-taliban-brittany-griner-biden-prisoner-deal-1765859" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly releasing 5,000</a> Taliban members. The president denies it was that cut and dry.
Regardless of what happened, it doesn&#8217;t explain why Biden botched America&#8217;s departure from the country so badly. The military left behind billions in equipment, stranded Americans, and allowed in hundreds — if not thousands — of under-vetted or unvetted Afghans. Thirteen Americans were killed because of how it was handled.
Ending the &#8220;forever war&#8221; might have been the right thing to do, but why wouldn&#8217;t Biden destroy the military equipment and evacuate American allies and U.S. citizens before leaving?
On top of that, a recent Pentagon <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bidens-fumbled-afghanistan-withdrawal-propaganda-gift-china-defense-department-finds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report confirmed</a> that the calamity was used by the Chinese to &#8220;erode U.S. and partner influence.&#8221; Other <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/international-disorder-biden-is-a-remarkably-bad-negotiator-and-doesnt-understand-how-the-world-works" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> indicate that the disaster also provided Putin with all the evidence he needed that an attack on Ukraine would be wise — given the dunce in the Oval Office.
So far, this writing has featured all foreign enemies.
We haven&#8217;t even discussed the domestic enemies seeking a &#8220;total transformation&#8221; of government based on equity and the principles of critical race theory — which teaches that we need to dismantle and abolish America as we know it. Nor have we gone into the alleged &#8220;Big Guy&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/news-outlets-expose-themselves-as-tech-illiterate-by-taking-years-to-authenticate-hunters-laptop" target="_blank" rel="noopener">kickback scheme</a> between the president&#8217;s struggling artist son and his Chinese business partners.
We&#8217;ll get to those items in a later column. We&#8217;re only two years into a Biden presidency, so we have some time — unfortunately.
For now, readers should remember that there is an old quote attributed to President Abraham Lincoln, &#8220;Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?&#8221;
Somehow it doesn&#8217;t seem likely that Lincoln was referring to how Biden treats America&#8217;s opposition thus far.

The U.S. State Department issued a &#8220;worldwide&#8221; caution alert for Americans Tuesday evening, warning that the likelihood that terrorists will strike U.S. interests has increased after the CIA killed Ayman Al Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden’s deputy and successor as leader of al-Qaeda.
&#8220;Following al-Zawahiri’s death, supporters of Al Qaeda, or its affiliated terrorist organizations, may seek to attack U.S. facilities, personnel, or citizens,&#8221; the alert said. &#8220;As terrorist attacks often occur without warning, U.S. citizens are strongly encouraged to maintain a high level of vigilance and practice good situational awareness when traveling abroad.&#8221;
The State Department said that it has reason to believe that the threat level to U.S. citizens is now &#8220;higher&#8221; after the drone strike terminated Al Zawahiri.
The warning said that Americans needed to be alert for the possibility of suicide operations, assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings, and bombings.
The advisory urged Americans to actively monitor local news and maintain contact with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
Terrorism experts <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terrorism-experts-quickly-note-major-problem-as-biden-celebrates-cia-killing-al-qaeda-leader">quickly downplayed</a> Democrat President Joe Biden&#8217;s attempt to count the killing of Al Zawahiri in Afghanistan as a win for his administration, noting the fact that Al-Zawahiri having been in Afghanistan at all means that the terrorist group has returned to the country where they planned the 9/11 attacks.
During the chaotic pullout from Afghanistan last year, Biden <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2021/08/20/remarks-by-president-biden-on-evacuations-in-afghanistan/">declared</a> that al-Qaeda was “gone” from Afghanistan.
“The killing of Al Qaeda emir Ayman al Zawahiri will be sold as a counterterrorism success. But that narrative masks the undeniable truth that Taliban-controlled Afghanistan is a safe have for Al Qaeda,” Bill Roggio, terrorism analyst at the Long War Journal, <a href="https://twitter.com/billroggio/status/1554266397836025856">tweeted</a>. “The strike that killed Zawahiri is the first since the U.S withdrawal 1+ months ago. The U.S. saved best for first, and made the first counterterrorism strike count.”
“Zawahiri was killed in the Sherpur neighborhood, in a home run by a deputy of Sirajuddin Haqqani. Sirajuddin is of course one of two deputy Taliban emirs as well as the interior minister,” he continued. “Zawahiri could not operate in Afghanistan – particularly in Kabul – without the consent of the Taliban. He wasn’t in the remote mountains of Kunar, Nuristan, or Nangarhar, or distant provinces of Ghazni, Helmand, or Kandahar. He was in the Taliban’s capital.”
Max Abrahms, an International Security professor, said that killing Al Zawahiri was not “the categorical win Biden says.”
“The Taliban was supposed to prevent Al Qaeda leaders from hiding out there for goodness sake,” Abrahms added.
“There was a reason that Ayman al-Zawahiri was in Kabul,” said Tim Kennedy, a former special forces operator. “Serving as the #2 to Bin Laden in al Qaeda he took advantage of our failed evacuation of Afghanistan and the power vacuum. It is a safe haven for terrorists all around the world. This is a byproduct of what we created.”

On the day that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden">Biden administration</a> completed the disastrous U.S. pullout from Afghanistan, Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taliban">Taliban</a> had pledged to bar terrorist groups from using the war torn nation as a base.
Now he <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/news/blinken-taliban-grossly-violated-doha-agreement-by-sheltering-al-qaeda-leader/">admits</a> that they lied.
Following the announcement Monday that the U.S. had killed al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in a drone strike in Kabul, Blinken <a href="https://twitter.com/RobbieGramer/status/1554438323975888901">confessed</a> that the Taliban “grossly violated the Doha Agreement and repeated assurances to the world that they would not allow Afghan territory to be used by terrorists to threaten the security of other countries.”
It was an about-face from just under a year ago, when on August 30, 2021, the day that the U.S. completed its flawed evacuation, Blinken touted the terror group&#8217;s promise.
“The Taliban has made a commitment to prevent terrorist groups from using Afghanistan as a base for external operations that could threaten the United States or our allies, including al-Qaida and the Taliban’s sworn enemy, ISIS-K,&#8221; Blinken said.
Blinken insisted that the Biden administration would “hold them accountable to that commitment,” adding, “But while we have expectations of the Taliban, that doesn’t mean we will rely on the Taliban.  We’ll remain vigilant in monitoring threats ourselves.”
On Monday, Blinken seemed to realize the Islamist regime that returned to power after outlasting the U.S. in a two-decade war can&#8217;t be taken at its word.
“In the face of the Taliban’s unwillingness or inability to abide by their commitments, we will continue to support the Afghan people with robust humanitarian assistance and to advocate for the protection of their human rights, especially of women and girls,” Blinken stated on Monday.
Zawahiri, the 71-year-old Egyptian who took the reins of al-Qaeda after Navy SEALs killed Osama bin Laden in a raid on his Pakistan compound in 2011, was in a warehouse in downtown Kabul when he was killed Saturday. Zawahiri had stepped out on the balcony when he was hit by two R9X Hellfire missiles, a non-explosive drone nicknamed the “flying Ginsu” which has six spinning blades that slice through walls or roofs to destroy its target, according to a <a class="link " href="https://www.bellingcat.com/resources/how-tos/2021/08/26/the-telltale-traces-of-the-us-militarys-new-bladed-missile-r9x/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" data-ylk="slk:Bellingcat review of the weapon" data-rapid_p="25" data-v9y="1">Bellingcat review of the weapon</a>.
Senior Taliban figures knew Zawahiri was in the area, an official told <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/01/politics/joe-biden-counter-terrorism/index.html">CNN</a>, in &#8220;clear violation of the Doha agreement.&#8221; They even tried to hide his presence after the strike, closing off the safe house and moving members of his family, including his daughter and her children, who were unharmed. The U.S. did not alert Taliban officials ahead of Saturday&#8217;s strike.
