The late actress Hayden Panettiere was taking a &#8220;bag of medication&#8221; at the time of her sudden death on Sunday afternoon.
According to a <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/hayden-panettieres-ex-boyfriend-was-scene-died-police-report-says-rcna593125">report</a> from NBC News, Panettiere&#8217;s on-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson handed over a bag containing the medications she&#8217;d been taking in the days leading up to her death — and although the names of the medications were redacted, The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/08/18/us-news/hayden-panettiere-was-on-bag-of-medication-at-time-of-death-as-cops-reveal-boyfriends-strange-reaction-to-her-overdose/">reported</a> that there were nine drugs listed in the Greenville City Police Department report.
Entertainment site TMZ <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2026/08/18/hayden-panettiere-found-while-boyfriend-slept/">reported</a> that Panettiere, who died just days before what would have been her 37th birthday, was discovered unresponsive in a chair by Zach Hickerson, Brian&#8217;s brother. Brian was reportedly asleep in another room of the Greenville, South Carolina, apartment they&#8217;d rented through Airbnb.
<a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/hayden-panettieres-ex-boyfriend-was-scene-died-police-report-says-rcna593125">Responding officer</a> Matthew Bryan said in his report that he first spoke with Zach — who was clearly distraught while first responders worked on Panettiere — but that Brian did not appear to be visibly upset until the actress was officially declared dead.
Additional reporting said Brian and the &#8220;Nashville&#8221; actress had been more on-again than off-again of late, but kept their <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2026/08/17/hayden-panettiere-brian-hickerson-forced-to-keep-relationship-private/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">relationship</a> quiet because her publicity team felt his presence would likely hurt her book sales.
Panettiere&#8217;s estranged mother, Lesley Vogel, also voiced concern about Hickerson in her first public comments following her daughter&#8217;s death: &#8220;This person in her life that we have been trying to get rid of for quite some time was with her at her death, and that was Brian Hickerson.&#8221;
Hickerson has not been accused by authorities of involvement in Panettiere&#8217;s death.
&#8220;I think Hayden was an amazingly talented person in so many departments and I think young people who grow up in the entertainment industry,&#8221; Vogel added. &#8220;It is a struggle and it&#8217;s a very challenging industry and it&#8217;s not unusual for them to sadly find the wrong path.&#8221;
Hickerson and Panettiere had both expressed anger toward Vogel in the past.
&#8220;Hayden&#8217;s mother is by far one of the worst people I&#8217;ve ever met in my life,&#8221; Hickerson told TMZ in May — and Panettiere said on a recent podcast that she&#8217;d been broken by her mother&#8217;s response when she asked if they could just be mother and daughter instead of manager and actress.
&#8220;You owe me,&#8221; Vogel reportedly said at the time, and <a href="https://people.com/hayden-panettiere-estranged-mom-speaks-out-after-death-12061596">Panettiere</a> told podcast host Jay Shetty that she&#8217;d been heartbroken to realize that she&#8217;d meant &#8220;money.&#8221;
The police report indicated that the responding officer was wearing a body cam at the scene, but that footage has not been released.
An autopsy was performed on Monday, and the coroner&#8217;s office released a statement saying that &#8220;no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death&#8221; — but the investigation is still ongoing. Toxicology reports could take weeks to compile.

Irish actor Brenda Fricker, best known for her performances in “My Left Foot” and “Home Alone 2,” died Thursday evening at age 81.
Her agent Phil Belfield <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2026/07/17/brenda-fricker-dead/">told</a> TMZ that she passed away peacefully in her home in Dublin from an undisclosed illness.
&#8220;We will never see her again and the world is less for the lack of her,” Belfield said. “I was honored to know, love, and work with her, and she will always have a place in my heart and in the heart of so many film and TV fans the world over.&#8221;

&#8220;She lived her life courageously, warts and all. I loved her for her wit, her intelligence and her brilliant sense of humour,&#8221; Shipton said.
Actress Fionnula Flanagan <a href="https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2026/0717/1583885-irish-film-world-pays-tribute-to-brenda-fricker/">told</a> RTE News that she was &#8220;totally devastated&#8221; after hearing of Fricker’s passing and described Fricker’s Oscar win as a paradigm moment for Irish cinema.
Flanagan added that Fricker was a “great talent” which was “terribly important for Ireland because at the time we didn’t have a film industry … She was one of the leaders of that movement.&#8221;

TV and movie star Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her roles in “Gossip Girl” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” died on Wednesday. She was 39.
The New York Police Department confirmed to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/arts/television/michelle-trachtenberg-dead.html">The New York Times</a> that officers responded to a 911 call in the morning and discovered the young star unresponsive in a Manhattan apartment.
&#8220;Upon arrival, officers observed a 39-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive,” Police <a href="https://people.com/rosie-odonnell-says-michelle-trachtenberg-struggled-before-death-harriet-the-spy-costar-11686951">said</a>. &#8220;Criminality is not suspected.&#8221;
Emergency workers who responded to the call pronounced her dead at the scene.
Trachtenberg — who reportedly recently underwent a liver transplant — is believed to have died from natural causes, according to sources.

Her death is not being investigated as suspicious and a specific cause will be determined by the medical examiner.
Trachtenberg made headlines a year ago when she hit back at critics who expressed concern for the actress’ health, claiming she looked ill in pictures she posted, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2025/02/26/entertainment/michelle-trachtenberg-fired-back-at-fan-concerns-over-her-health-just-before-her-tragic-death/?utm_campaign=pagesix&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social">Page Six</a> noted.
“Explain to me how I look sick,” the actress replied to one commenter. “Did you lose a calendar and not realize I’m not 14. I’m 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment.”
“I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy,” she added in another post. “Check yourself haters.”
The young star first got her big break when she landed the role of Harriet in the 1996 kids movie “Harriet the Spy,” alongside Rosie O’Donnell as her nanny, Ole Golly. 
She also is known for her work in the other films like the 2005 children’s movie “Ice Princess” and the 2009 romantic comedy “17 Again,” which starred Zac Efron and Matthew Perry.
Following news of her death, tributes to her surfaced on social media.
O’Donnell — who previously worked with Trachtenberg — released a statement sharing regret that she wished she could’ve helped Michelle, without explaining further.
&#8220;Heartbreaking. I loved her very much,” O’Donnell wrote. “She struggled the last few years. I wish I could have helped.”
The director of &#8220;Harriet the Spy,&#8221; Bronwen Hughes, said <a href="https://x.com/THR/status/1894854106566762568">that,</a> “Michelle was like a lightning bolt of a casting discovery. She had fire, she had spark, she had truth, and she had Harriet’s conviction, like her sense of self.”
“No one else came in the room like that,” she added. “So she had that acting gene that you can’t really teach. It’s innate, which is not something you find very often.”

The following is an edited transcript of an interview with Daily Wire culture reporter Megan Basham and Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan on the growing, public PR battle between actress Blake Lively and film director Justin Baldoni. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/podcasts/morning-wire/blake-lively-and-justin-baldoni-s-epic-hollywood-battle-2-8-25" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Catch the full interview on Morning Wire</a>.

Actress Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni are continuing their public feud over their hit film, &#8220;It Ends With Us,&#8221; with both sides filing lawsuits. But even more than a legal battle, this has become an all-out PR war with leaked texts, calls, and film footage, as well as allegations of sexual harassment and spousal jealousy. The first trial date is set for March. Daily Wire culture reporter Megan Basham speaks with award-winning journalist, author and Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan to get insight into a drama only Hollywood could produce.
MEGAN: Thanks for being here, Maureen. So, especially for those of us who are kind of catching up with this story, I&#8217;m wondering if you can give us the 10,000 foot summary of this scandal?
MAUREEN: Sure. So about a month ago, the New York Times ran a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/business/media/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-it-ends-with-us.html?searchResultPosition=9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blockbuster</a>, I think 4,000 word piece, in which Blake Lively was alleging her director and co-star Justin Baldoni, on their film “It Ends With Us,” had subjected her to almost ritualistic sexual harassment — and that she suffered so greatly, it was a concerted effort in which he involved multiple people to not only harass her while filming, but then once the movie was about to be released, orchestrated an online smear campaign against her. A couple of weeks later, Baldoni&#8217;s lawyer, Bryan Freedman filed a countersuit in which he alleged that the text messages obtained by the New York Times had been selectively edited. They sort of threw open their document dump, which seemed to absolve Justin of many of the things that Lively has been claiming. Nonetheless, these two are now locked in a bitter, bitter, expensive lawsuit. Baldoni is countersuing Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million, which is, I believe, what he thinks their estimated net worth is. And the trial is tentatively set for March 2026.
MEGAN: So, before we get to some of the legal ramifications, there have obviously been a lot of leaks, a lot of shifting in public loyalties back and forth. At least that&#8217;s been my experience. At the outset, I was kind of on Team Justin. And then I thought, “Well, wait a minute. That New York Times piece was really persuasive.” But then Justin Baldoni&#8217;s team released some new audio leaks and they sort of shifted the game a little bit. What&#8217;s your sense right now of who&#8217;s on top in the PR war?
MAUREEN: I think Blake Lively is suffering mightily right now and the collateral fallout is affecting not just her husband, Ryan Reynolds, but her so called “Dragon,” her BFF Taylor Swift, who it&#8217;s reported has been taking a step back from her friendship with Blake because she doesn&#8217;t want any of this runoff affecting her career. Justin&#8217;s team has been very smart in what they&#8217;re leaking and when. They leaked footage of the two of them while filming a scene, rehearsing a scene, in which they were dancing very closely and Justin had his mic on. And so they&#8217;re working out how they&#8217;re going to do this scene. Justin is saying, “I think we should be kissing.” And Blake says, “No, I think we should be talking. I think that&#8217;s even more intimate.” And Justin says, “Okay.” So that sort of takes some wind out of her sails. They also released another lengthy voice memo that Justin had sent to Blake in which he&#8217;s praising her to the high heavens and saying he has let her down by not taking all of her notes, and she&#8217;s so brilliant and so smart, and he&#8217;s going to do everything he can to make her happy. Again, a counter narrative to Lively&#8217;s claims that he was doing everything possible to sabotage her and make her feel unsafe on that set. So I think right now Baldoni&#8217;s team is in the power position, but that of course could shift in another few days.

MEGAN: Well, you know, it seems like there was a moment where Lively could have disengaged and, and just moved on. And this would have been something of a blip on Hollywood&#8217;s gossip radar. Why do you think she escalated to a lawsuit that opened up so much more of these internal communications?
MAUREEN: This is such a great question, Megan, because if you think about it the damage has already been done to her. Think about it, there are like five female directors working in Hollywood today. What male director is going to put himself and his career and reputation at risk by working with Blake Lively, who launched this all out assault on a guy who is not as well capitalized as she and Ryan are, who doesn&#8217;t have the reputation, the lengthy career — who on earth would risk it? And I have to wonder why she did it, because like you said, it could have just been, you know, a thing where they butted heads, they didn&#8217;t see eye-to-eye, but they each walked away clean to do their next project. I have a theory — and it is just my own theory and supposition — that something went on between these two. Perhaps it was an unrequited crush on Blake&#8217;s part and Justin didn&#8217;t respond in kind; perhaps they did in some way have a physical relationship outside of the filming and that went south. There&#8217;s something about this that just feels way too intense, way too personal. I think the real undergirding, the real story is why she did this.

MEGAN: Well, I&#8217;m glad that you bring that up, because I do want to talk a little bit about those messages between Baldoni and Lively. And I know some media outlets characterize them as “flirty,” I don&#8217;t know that I necessarily saw them that way, but I at least saw them as very familiar, let&#8217;s put it that way.
MAUREEN: I kind of read them as flirty — even the text messages between Justin and Ryan Reynolds. Look, if anybody listening wants to get a taste of what it&#8217;s like to deal with Hollywood people, this is it. And it&#8217;s really quite vile because they&#8217;re just mooning over each other. I mean, they&#8217;ve just met and Ryan hasn&#8217;t responded to Justin&#8217;s text for two weeks and then he replies and says, “I happen to adore you, Justin.” It&#8217;s like, buy me dinner first before you start talking to me like this. It&#8217;s disgusting. And, you know, Justin and Blake are having a very familiar texting relationship that, whether they were that familiar, whether it was this sort of hastened intimacy because they were working so closely together so quickly, who knows? But now we&#8217;re going to see. I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s any slight that&#8217;s not going to be weaponized. I just read an item yesterday that Blake Lively blew a good chunk of the movie&#8217;s budget on her wardrobe. I mean, this is how petty we&#8217;re going to get. I love it, but it is the strangest Hollywood war. I&#8217;m going to say it&#8217;s maybe the biggest one since Brad versus Angie.
MEGAN: Do you think Lively and Reynolds, at least as a couple, their image — like maybe Reynolds individually, Lively individually — do kind of come back from this? Because, you know, Brad and Angelina eventually did. But does their image as this blissful “It” couple bounce back?
MAUREEN: Well, Megan, first of all, when I said Brad versus Angie, I meant like when they divorced, when they separated, and it was like the bombshells were going off: “He was abusive. She was out of her mind.” This will be the thing that shows the strength of their marriage. I&#8217;m very cynical, so I really do believe that if this blowback against Blake gets to be too much, Ryan&#8217;s going to cut her loose. I think Ryan Reynolds has his eyes firmly set on becoming a billionaire, and I believe he&#8217;ll get there. And I don&#8217;t think he&#8217;s going to stand for his reputation getting muddied in all of this, even though he&#8217;s already in it with these lawsuits and all of these text messages and these documents. And he was famously brought in by Blake to write a whole scene in the movie and be some sort of unpaid advisor. So I think that&#8217;s really where you&#8217;re going to see the strength of this countersuit against Justin, if it really does sort of crater their marriage.
MEGAN: Well, maybe just a couple more questions, Maureen. One of them is that The New York Times has come under a lot of scrutiny for the role it played in sort of rehabilitating Lively&#8217;s claims when she was on the outs in terms of public affection. I have seen some claims that they handled the coverage in a biased way, clearly working hand in glove with Blake Lively&#8217;s team. What do you think? Is there any validity to that claim?
MAUREEN: Yes, I think there is. It seems as though, perhaps, they didn&#8217;t do their full due diligence. I think it was probably seen, initially, as a strength, but is now a liability. I forget how many bylines were on that piece, but one, Megan Twohey, was one half of the team at the Times that broke the Harvey Weinstein story and became synonymous with MeToo. They wrote a book. They made a lot of money off of it. And I think the Times is already struggling in many ways reputationaly and this does not help. If I recall correctly, I could be mistaken so forgive me, but if I recall correctly I think they went to Baldoni&#8217;s team and gave them two hours to respond to that laundry list of accusations. So if that&#8217;s true, it&#8217;s not a great look. MEGAN: Well, you kind of intuited where I was going to go next. And that was the role that MeToo has played in this, with these claims, that it was a sexual harassment issue. So, do you think on a broader level, the tide has turned? And maybe this is because of Johnny Depp. Because before, I think there was a period of time when even the public was willing to say, “Hey, I don&#8217;t know that that&#8217;s a MeToo allegation.” I&#8217;m thinking of something like Aziz Ansari where there was a lot of back and forth debate about that. In this case, it seems like some of these men in Hollywood who don&#8217;t even possess the power of some of these women are now willing to challenge these MeToo allegations. So, do you think this sort of shifts the balance on where we are with MeToo?
MAUREEN: Yes, I think this case is very important in terms of where we are and where we&#8217;re going. I agree with you. The Aziz Ansari thing was ridiculous. If that allegation had come out maybe a year later, his career would not have been destroyed. I think we are now seeing a pendulum swing back towards sanity where just because a woman says a man did something to her, it&#8217;s not automatically received as gospel, that the man does get a chance to tell his side of the story and back it up with documents, receipts, screenshots, texts, voicemail, and it certainly helps when you have movie footage. So I think this is going to be an interesting case in terms of the cultural corrective that is underway.
MEGAN: Okay. Well, last question: Any predictions for the March trial?
MAUREEN: You know, I&#8217;ll be amazed if it gets there. Because I would think saner heads would prevail, and both sides should really just drop it and walk away. Justin Baldoni&#8217;s lawyer has already said he&#8217;s pretty much bankrupted by this, financially and emotionally. I don&#8217;t know what good it does for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to have this be the headline of their careers for the next calendar year, and that&#8217;s just to start. So, I think it&#8217;ll be interesting to see if it ever really comes to fruition, and if there is some sort of settlement reached, who pays who? This is really just Hollywood writ large, right? The egotism, the narcissism, the ridiculous sums of money, the victimization, the weaponization perhaps, we don&#8217;t know yet, but perhaps of MeToo, it&#8217;s such a great, weird stew of stuff.
MEGAN: Well, thank you Maureen. That was enlightening. I kind of can&#8217;t wait to see where this goes next.
MAUREEN: I know, it&#8217;s like every day we get another tidbit. Yes, thanks for having me.

These conversations did, in fact, continue over the next few years and eventually we added the incredible Nora and Lilla Zuckerman to our little tribe until ultimately, one day, we landed on an idea.”
The 47-year-old actress said that for years she’s heard the fans calling for a “Buffy” revival and said she never could commit to it — unless she was sure to “get it right.”
Gellar promised that “we will only make this show if we know we can do it right. And I will tell you that we are on the path there.”
“I feel so lucky to be on this journey with these four unbelievably talented women, all of whom love ‘Buffy’ as much as I do,” the actress said. “And as much as you do. Thank you to all the fans who never stopped asking for this. This will be for you.”
The post from the “Cruel Intentions” star comes following news earlier this week that a “Buffy” reboot was in the works, with Gellar reprising her iconic role as the vampire slayer, Buffy Summers, <a href="https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/sarah-michelle-gellar-defends-buffy-vampire-slayer-reboot-hulu-1236299104/">Variety</a> noted.
The series was inspired by the 1992 cult classic movie “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” which starred Kristy Swanson in the title role and featured Luke Perry, Donald Sutherland, and Paul Reubens, among others. 
The series kicked off on the WB in 1997 and ran for seven seasons and 144 episodes, with the final two seasons airing on the UPN, ending in 2003. Gellar took on the lead role and was surrounded by such stars as Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendan, David Boreanaz, James Marsters, and Kristine Sutherland.

Hollywood star Candice Bergen got political at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards when she took a swipe at Republican Vice President candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jd-vance-torches-democratic-propagandist-dana-bash-during-cnn-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">J.D. Vance</a>.
On Sunday during the <a href="https://x.com/ask_aubry/status/1835494866890952777" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC broadcast</a> at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the 78-year-old actress recalled playing news anchor “Murphy Brown” on the popular show and a moment during her career when her character became pregnant but was unmarried.
&#8220;In one classic moment, my character was attacked by [Republican] Vice President Dan Quayle when Murphy became pregnant and decided to raise the baby as a single mother,” Bergen told the room of stars. “Oh how far we’ve come.”
“Today a Republican candidate for Vice President would never attack a woman for having kids,” she added sarcastically. “So as they say, my work here is done. Meow”

The comment was part of an ongoing attack by the left against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/vance-hits-kamala-over-maga-morphosis-adopting-all-of-donald-trumps-policies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">former President Donald Trump</a>’s running mate — over something Vance said during an interview in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dems-try-to-paint-jd-vance-as-weird-talk-about-projection">2021</a> that has been completely taken out of context.
“We are effectively run in this country via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too,” Vance said. &#8220;That is a basic fact. Look at Kamala Harris, AOC, and the like; the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. How does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t have a direct stake in it?”
Bergen’s comment wasn’t the only one of the night that mentioned the upcoming election. Actress Liza Colon-Zayas for “The Bear” was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. During her <a href="https://x.com/CapaMagDizi/status/1835477789551517857">acceptance speech</a> she thanked supporters and then just said “Vote.”
&#8220;All the Latinas who are looking at me, keep believing and VOTE,” Colon-Zayas said. “Vote for your rights,” without explaining further what she meant by that last comment. 
“Only In The Murders Building” stars opened the evening’s show with actress <a href="https://x.com/the13manuscript/status/1835473907349876810">Selena Gomez</a> attempting to take a swipe at Vance when she labeled her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short “childless cat ladies.”
She didn’t get the bit right and said that Martin and Short were “this far away from being childless cat ladies&#8221; instead of &#8220;this close&#8230;&#8221; as <a href="https://x.com/PageSix/status/1835485972500218057" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Page Six</a> noted.

Hollywood star Kathy Bates announced that she’s done her final project and will retire once the reboot of CBS’ “Matlock” airs later this month.
Speaking to The <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/08/arts/television/matlock-kathy-bates.html">New York Times</a>, the 76-year-old actress shared how she had planned on retiring before she was sent the script to play Madeline Matlock in the reboot of the popular attorney <a href="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090481/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2">TV series</a> that aired from 1986-1995 and had Andy Griffith playing the lead.
“This is my last dance,” Bates said as she revealed that she knew it was time to quit after she ended up crying on her sofa during an unnamed movie shoot.
“It becomes my life,” she added. “Sometimes I get jealous of having this talent. Because I can’t hold it back, and I just want my life.”

A description of the “Matlock” series <a href="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26591147/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_4_nm_4_in_0_q_Matlock">says it</a> “[f]ollows Madeline Matlock as she rejoins the work force at a prestigious law firm, where she uses her wily tactics to win cases and expose wrong doing.”
Bates has been part of Hollywood and Broadway for more than five decades.
Her impressive resume includes the 1990 movie based on Stephen King’s horror novel “Misery&#8221; in which Bates played a fan who kidnaps her favorite author (played by <a href="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001001/?ref_=nmbio_mbio">James Caan</a>) and subjects him to a whole host of horrific tortures to get him to revive her favorite characters storyline.
The role was a huge boost to her career and led to her capturing the &#8220;&#8216;Best Actress&#8217; Oscar and Golden Globe award, a first in that genre (horror) for that category,&#8221; <a href="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000870/bio/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm">IMDb</a> noted.

During the 44-year-old actress&#8217; appearance on &#8220;The School of Greatness&#8221; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9qpo0Qfuh8">podcast</a>, she denied that getting work in the TV and movie industry had anything to do with her parents, other than creatively. In the past she&#8217;s been called a &#8220;nepo baby,&#8221; which is a term for someone who gets work in Hollywood because of nepotism, the <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/zooey-deschanel-nepo-baby-caleb-b2521546.html">Independent</a> noted.

During the 59-year-old actress&#8217; appearance on &#8220;Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone&#8221; <a href="https://getting-grilled-with-curtis-stone.simplecast.com/episodes/teri-hatcher-O4wTvhYE" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcast</a>, Hatcher said she was &#8220;open and vulnerable&#8221; to trying to find a good man on the Hinge dating app, but things did not go as planned.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suzanne-somers-husband-explains-why-she-was-laid-to-rest-in-boots" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Suzanne Somers&#8217;</a> widower Alan Hamel said several unexplained things have happened since her death and said he&#8217;s a &#8220;believer now&#8221; in the after-life.
The widower of the famed &#8220;Three&#8217;s Company&#8221; star told <a href="https://pagesix.com/2024/01/16/entertainment/suzanne-somers-spirit-is-in-her-palm-springs-home-widower/?utm_source=instagram&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=pagesix&amp;utm_content=pagesix_feed">Page Six</a> that some odd things have happened at their Palm Springs home since her death. Somers died last October at the age of 76, following a two-decade battle with cancer.
&#8220;Three things happened the same day, that were very strange,&#8221; Hamel told the outlet.
&#8220;[A] hummingbird flew into our house and made the rounds in the kitchen, and the living room and the dining room,&#8221; Somers&#8217; husband of 50 years added.

The bird &#8220;hovered&#8221; in front of a framed photo of<a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/10/16/suzanne-somers-smiled-in-final-photo-with-husband-alan-hamel/"> Hamel and Somers</a> in their breakfast nook, and even &#8220;landed on top and stayed there.&#8221;
Somers&#8217; widower said the hummingbird stayed long enough that he was able to grab a picture of it before it flew away. 
Lastly, Hamel said &#8220;the fireplace started all by itself,&#8221; and &#8220;some music came on by Suzanne&#8217;s favorite [composer]. No one&#8217;s ever heard of this guy.&#8221;
Hamel said after all these things and the fact he can still feel his wife lying beside him in bed just before he goes to sleep, he&#8217;s &#8220;a believer now that there is an after life.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m convinced of it … I think there&#8217;s something we don&#8217;t understand,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I think there&#8217;s a plane somewhere … after we discard our bodies. We still have our soul. I think our soul is energy. The soul must go somewhere and do something.&#8221;
&#8220;The time when <a href="https://pagesix.com/article/suzanne-somers-children/">I&#8217;m with my family</a> … and I have one of my moments when I have to leave, I go into the bedroom … I&#8217;m alone there. And I feel her presence,&#8221; Hamel continued. &#8220;Once I interact with her presence, I go back and interact with the family. Her grandkids, one by one, have told me the same thing.&#8221;
Somers&#8217; widower said he hopes &#8220;it&#8217;s all true&#8221; because all the odd things have certainly made &#8220;the grieving process a lot easier,&#8221; and, &#8220;If it is, we&#8217;ll be reunited.&#8221;

Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/actress">Kristen Stewart</a> said the hit movie “Twilight” was “such a gay <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">movie</a>.”
The 33-year-old Hollywood <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">star</a>, who achieved global stardom starring as Bella Swan in the film series that debuted in 2008, discussed how she now sees hidden themes in the story. 
The “Twilight” films were based upon best-selling books of the same name written by Stephenie Meyer.
“I can only see it now,” Stewart told <a href="https://variety.com/2024/film/features/kristen-stewart-coming-out-twilight-gay-sundance-sex-scenes-1235867627/">Variety</a> in an interview published Thursday. “I don’t think it necessarily started off that way, but I also think that the fact that I was there at all, it was percolating. It’s such a gay movie.&#8221;
“I mean, Jesus Christ, Taylor [Lautner] and Rob[ert Pattinson] and me, and it’s so hidden and not okay,&#8221; she added, referencing the film’s other two main characters. &#8220;I mean, a Mormon woman wrote this book. It’s all about oppression, about wanting what’s going to destroy you. That’s a very Gothic, gay inclination that I love.”
“Twilight” is about an awkward teen named Bella Swan who struggles to fit in at her new school after moving to a new town with her father. Everything changes when she becomes involved with a local vampire family and falls in love with one of the vampires, Edward (Pattinson), and also develops feelings for a werewolf named Jacob (Lautner). Eventually, Bella becomes a vampire also and has a child with Edward.

All the relationships in the books and films are heterosexual, but Stewart insists the film’s messaging is “gay” nonetheless.
During the same interview, the “Happiest Season” star discussed her own affiliation with the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lgbtq">LGBTQ</a> community and how she’s become a role model for the community since coming out as bisexual in 2017.
“It’s not that I wasn’t scared,” Stewart said of announcing her sexuality to the world. “It was just that there was no other way to live.”
She added, “Every single woman that I’ve ever met in my whole life who ever kissed a girl in college is like, ‘Yeah, I mean, me too.’ I’m constantly joking with my girlfriend. I’ll be sitting there and be like, &#8216;She’s gay too. Everyone’s gay.’”
