A conservative legal group warned Monday of a “loophole” that allows thousands of voters in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/wisconsin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wisconsin</a> to cast a ballot without showing identification. 
The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) released a <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2024/09/Indefinitely-Confined-FINAL-1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">research report</a> that said there are 144,347 people in the Badger State classified as “indefinitely confined,” meaning that they could cast an absentee ballot without showing ID. Indefinitely confined rates skyrocketed during the 2020 election and allowed tens of thousands to cast absentee ballots. 
“Wisconsin has a strong voter ID requirement in place, but there is one loophole that is ripe for exploitation. In Wisconsin, voters can claim they are ‘Indefinitely Confined,’ a status that allows a voter to continually receive an absentee ballot without ever showing an ID,” the report from WILL researcher Will Flanders said. 
Flanders said that while the number of voters classified as “indefinitely confined” had come down from 2020, it was still 116% higher than it was back in 2016 as of July 2024. He added that there were still thousands of voters who should be removed from the list under state law. 
“Per state law, clerks are to remove voters if they vote in-person or do not vote in any election. Those voters must sign and return a form to retain that status,” the report noted. 
According to Flanders, voters who should have received a notice of potential removal from the &#8220;indefinitely confined&#8221; list include 24,800 who didn’t vote in the April election, 2,788 who haven’t voted at all since 2020, and 2,595 who voted in person in April.
The areas with the highest number of indefinitely confined voters are the Democratic strongholds of Milwaukee and Madison followed by more divided areas like Green Bay and Kenosha. 
Indefinitely confined voter status was designed to help voters who are elderly or disabled and unable to make it to the polls. Voters just have to select that they fit the requirements for being indefinitely confined.

“Under this statute, voters decide for themselves whether they meet the requirements and can receive an absentee ballot in perpetuity if they continue to vote in every election,” the report said. “Most critically, voters can receive ballots in this way without providing a photo ID. In Wisconsin, you only need to show a photo ID when you vote—not when you register.”

During the 2020 election, election officials in Madison and Milwaukee said that effectively all voters could claim indefinitely confined status because of COVID. The Wisconsin Supreme Court <a href="https://www.wisbar.org/NewsPublications/InsideTrack/Pages/Article.aspx?Volume=0&amp;ArticleID=28110#:~:text=In%20Republican%20Party%20of%20Wisconsin%20v.%20Dane%20County%2C,can%20declare%20persons%20indefinitely%20confined%20for%20any%20reason." target="_blank" rel="noopener">later ruled</a> against this guidance, after the election. 
WILL has argued that there should be tighter guidelines for receiving indefinitely confined status and sent out letters to 15 communities across the state to see if they were complying with state law about cleaning up their rolls. 
“Confidence in our elections continues to be dangerously low in Wisconsin and across the country,” Flanders told The Daily Wire. “Voter ID is a popular and well-executed way to keep our elections secure and free of fraud. While the Governor refused to fix this loophole in the years since 2020, efforts must be made by local election clerks to resolve it as much as possible.”
Wisconsin is expected to be one of the key battleground states that may determine the outcome of the 2024 election with polls showing a close race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

&#8220;The bottom line is clear: Evidence in the Trump 2020 election conspiracy case could be revealed&#8230;. less than six weeks before the 2024 election,&#8221; CBS News reporter Scott MacFarlane <a href="https://x.com/MacFarlaneNews/status/1831806797528907779" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said in a post to X</a>.
Earlier in the day, a hearing took place in which prosecutors and Trump&#8217;s team discussed how they wanted to proceed after the Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-rules-trump-has-immunity-for-official-acts-likely-delays-trial-past-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">determined</a> presidents have immunity for official acts.
Smith&#8217;s team said they needed about three weeks to file a brief on how their <a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/08/27/nx-s1-5090925/trump-indictment-jan6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">superseding indictment</a> should be able to abide by the high court&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-rules-trump-has-immunity-for-official-acts-likely-delays-trial-past-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruling</a> in early July, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/09/05/us/trump-election-interference-hearing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>.
Prosecutor Thomas Windom reportedly said the government could present new information, such as FBI interviews with witnesses, in making its case that Trump broke the law outside of his official role.

Defense lawyers argued the debate over grappling with the presidential immunity issue should wait until at least December, but Chutkan said the court was <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/jack-smith-seeks-streamline-trumps-appeals-election-interference-case-rcna169448" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;not concerned&#8221;</a> with the election schedule.
Trump has pleaded not guilty in the D.C. case, which got delayed as the courts weighed his presidential immunity claims. Now the judge&#8217;s schedule has deadlines for various filings through early November.
Other prosecutions have been levied against Trump as he runs again for office, although Smith&#8217;s second case against him — one related to classified documents — was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-dismisses-trump-classified-documents-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dismissed</a> by a federal judge in Florida.
A jury <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted</a> Trump as part of a New York hush-money case in May. Sentencing is set to happen later this month, but Trump is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-rejects-effort-by-trump-to-move-new-york-criminal-case-ahead-of-sentencing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trying to use</a> the high court&#8217;s immunity ruling to get the case tossed.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is spearheading a separate 2020 election case against Trump in Georgia, but that prosecution is also unlikely to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/court-pauses-georgia-election-case-against-trump-likely-until-after-the-2024-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reach the trial stage</a> before the election.

Critics were quick to point out the fact that Harris — who was bumped to the top of the 2024 Democratic ticket despite not winning a single primary vote on her own — already went public with a presidential policy platform in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election. Harris, who ran in the Democratic primary, struggled to gain traction with voters and ultimately dropped out of the race before the first caucuses and primaries even took place.

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) sounded the alarm on Wednesday after the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) rolled out a new effort last week offering millions of dollars to counties in 20 states to &#8220;improve access to voting for rural voters,&#8221; among other goals. CTCL was at the center of the &#8220;Zuckerbucks&#8221; controversy in 2020 after Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg and his wife <a href="https://www.techandciviclife.org/100m/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dumped</a> more than $300 million into the non-profit.
Multiple states took action to prevent private funding of election administration after &#8220;Zuckerbucks&#8221; were dumped into swing states such as Georgia and Wisconsin during the 2020 campaign, money that Republicans allege helped Joe Biden. Last Friday, CTCL founder and Executive Director Tiana Epps-Johnson released a statement announcing $2.5 million of grant funding being made available for 20 states, Just The News <a href="https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/zuckerbucks-return-rural-areas-20-states-can-receive-private-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“Unfortunately, local election departments remain severely underfunded after Congress cut Help America Vote Act funding last year to just $55 million nationwide, which means most rural election offices don’t get regular funding from the federal government,&#8221; Epps-Johnson said, adding, “This program will help eligible rural and nonmetro election offices modernize outdated voting technology, improve access to voting for rural voters, seniors, and veterans, and make much-needed infrastructure updates to enhance election security and make voting smoother for everyone.&#8221;
CTCL said the Zuckerbergs did not fund this year&#8217;s grant.
The grant applications are open in Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and Wyoming. The funds are to be used between July 31 and December 31 for election administration.

In 2021, a House Republican <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2021/06/21/house-republicans-letter-center-for-tech-civic-life-funds-election-mark-zuckerberg/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">investigation</a> found that much of the CTCL&#8217;s election grants went toward voter registration efforts in &#8220;overwhelmingly Democrat-leaning precincts.&#8221; House Republicans, led by Tenney, sent a letter to Epps-Johnson requesting that CTCL &#8220;release its full financial data.&#8221;
In 2022, then-Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pennsylvania-bans-zuck-bucks-as-midterm-elections-approach" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a ban on private money funding election administration, and last year, Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/georgia-bans-counties-from-using-private-money-for-elections-after-2020-zuckerbucks-controversy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a similar bill. Wisconsin voters <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wisconsin-voters-approve-gop-backed-amendment-to-ban-private-funding-for-elections" target="_blank" rel="noopener">followed suit</a> earlier this year by approving two election-related amendments to the state constitution.

Former President Donald Trump ripped into <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/facebook" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Facebook</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/google" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Google</a> on Tuesday over accusations that the tech giants have been censoring information about the attempt on his life earlier this month.
Trump’s comments come after social media users noticed that Google did not autocomplete searches for information about the attempted assassination and Facebook was censoring photos of Trump leaving the stage after being shot in the ear. Trump suggested the reason was because the two were trying to rig the election.
“Facebook has just admitted that it wrongly censored the Trump ‘attempted assassination photo,’ and got caught. Same thing for Google. They made it virtually impossible to find pictures or anything about this heinous act,” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112875529445800066" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on Truth Social.

On Monday, conservative influencer Charlie Kirk <a href="https://x.com/Dani_Lever/status/1817954271406538800" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pointed</a> out that a post on Facebook featuring the famous photo of Trump leaving the rally stage with blood on his face and the American flag above him had been fact-checked with an “altered label” photo.
In response, Facebook said that it had made a mistake.
“Yes, this was an error. This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the secret service agents smiling, and in some cases our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo. This has been fixed and we apologize for the mistake,” Facebook communications director Dani Lever wrote.

Google also faced criticism after users pointed out that autofill for searches about the assassination attempt would not generate Trump-related suggestions. Responding to critics, Google said it was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/google-struggles-to-explain-why-autocomplete-omits-trump-assassination-attempt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">working</a> to update its system.
“There was no manual action taken on these predictions,” the spokesman said. “Our systems have protections against Autocomplete predictions associated with political violence, which were working as intended prior to this horrific event occurring. We’re working on improvements to ensure our systems are more up to date.”
In the lead up to 2020 election, Facebook suppressed reporting from the New York Post about a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden that shed a light on alleged influence peddling between Biden and overseas business partners. At the time, former intelligence officers claimed that the laptop was Russian disinformation. The contents of the laptop were later verified, confirming the Post&#8217;s reporting.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/supreme-court" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Supreme Court</a> issued a <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/23-939_e2pg.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruling</a> on Monday that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>&#8216;s claim of presidential immunity to shield himself from federal prosecution is valid for official acts, but not for unofficial conduct, in a partial victory for the former president.
Justices voted 6-3 along ideological lines in the decision and sent the case in which Trump pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of unlawfully plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 election back to a lower D.C. court for further review.
&#8220;The President is not above the law,&#8221; the ruling said. &#8220;But under our system of separated powers, the President may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for his official acts.&#8221;

Conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett concurred with most of the opinion but disagreed with the restriction on introducing protected conduct as evidence, saying there was &#8220;no need to depart&#8221; from the &#8220;familiar and time-tested procedure here.&#8221;
All three liberal justices opposed the ruling. In her dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor suggested the majority&#8217;s reasoning would allow a president to get away with ordering the Navy&#8217;s SEAL Team Six to assassinate a political rival, organizing a military coup to stay in power, and taking a bribe in exchange for a pardon. &#8220;With fear for our democracy, I dissent,&#8221; she wrote.
Trump&#8217;s lawyers <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/05/trump-election-case-immunity-motion-00120225" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed to dismiss</a> the case in October of last year by asserting that the former president&#8217;s actions were &#8220;within the heartland&#8221; of his &#8220;official duties.&#8221; Federal prosecutors, led by special counsel <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jack-smith" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jack Smith</a>, argued that the defense&#8217;s immunity argument threatened to give presidents a <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/30/politics/donald-trump-jack-smith-immunity-claim-filing/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;license&#8221;</a> to commit crimes while in office.

A &#8220;deeper investigation&#8221; is needed for looking into the infamous <a href="https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000175-4393-d7aa-af77-579f9b330000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> used to discredit the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a> laptop story weeks before the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2020-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2020 presidential election</a> as crimes may have been committed, a top official from the Trump administration said on Sunday.
Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, who was joined by former House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA), <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6356055594112" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spoke to &#8220;Sunday Morning Futures&#8221;</a> host Maria Bartiromo on Fox News about the <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2024-06-25%20The%20Intelligence%20Community%2051%20-%20How%20CIA%20Contractors%20Colluded%20with%20the%20Biden%20Campaign%20to%20Mislead%20American%20Voters.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revelation</a> last week that some of the former  officials who signed the letter were on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CIA</a>&#8216;s payroll at the time.
&#8220;The CIA is supposed to be apolitical and is charged by law under the Hatch Act and other restrictions from engaging in political activity,&#8221; he said. &#8220;What made this letter OK from one perspective early on was all of the assertions that these were former officials acting in their private capacity.&#8221;
Ratcliffe continued, &#8220;Now the CIA has admitted, and there&#8217;s testimony here, that at least some of these individuals were under contract with the CIA, which means Hatch Act violations and perhaps more serious criminal violations under Title 18 for election interference.&#8221;
House investigators <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2024-06-25%20The%20Intelligence%20Community%2051%20-%20How%20CIA%20Contractors%20Colluded%20with%20the%20Biden%20Campaign%20to%20Mislead%20American%20Voters.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that two of the 51 signatories — former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell and former CIA Inspector General David Buckley — were actively working for the CIA as contractors when the statement was published.
The &#8220;revelation raises concerns that these officials may have abused their positions to expedite the statement&#8217;s approval and may have been earning taxpayer dollars while they did it,&#8221; the Weaponization of the Federal Government panel <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/media/press-releases/new-information-shows-cia-contractors-colluded-biden-campaign-discredit-hunter#:~:text=This%20revelation%20raises%20concerns%20that,and%20would%20hurt%20the%20Agency.">said</a> in a report.
In response to the findings, a CIA spokesperson insisted that the former officials were &#8220;not speaking for&#8221; the agency. And the report noted that Hatch Act political restrictions do not apply to contractors in the same way they do to CIA employees, though it proposed that lawmakers consider whether to extend the prohibition to contractors.
Ratcliffe said the House &#8220;has done some good work here&#8221; but added that the laptop controversy &#8220;really requires a deeper investigation, one that the Biden administration won&#8217;t undertake.&#8221; He went on to suggest his former boss, Donald Trump, could make that happen if he wins a second term in November.
&#8220;What has to happen here, Maria, is that when President Trump is sworn into office, a new CIA director, a new CIA inspector general, and a new attorney general for a Trump administration need a deeper investigation and potential criminal referrals here,&#8221; he explained.
&#8220;And the other thing I would say is, regardless of how all of this plays out, all of those former officials and current officials that were involved in orchestrating this should be irrevocably and permanently stripped of any security clearances or affiliation with the intelligence community,&#8221; Ratcliffe said.
He added, &#8220;Look, you know, Maria, that we have what&#8217;s called a debarment list where we put companies and individuals that defraud the government on a list and say, &#8216;You&#8217;re a bad actor, you can&#8217;t be affiliated or do business with the government anymore.&#8217; That needs to take place with these officials so this kind of political interference can&#8217;t occur anymore.&#8221;

Hunter Biden&#8217;s father, Joe Biden, was in the midst of running against then-President Donald Trump when the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/10/14/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">began reporting</a> on details of the younger Biden&#8217;s shady business dealings and personal life contained in the copy of a hard drive.
The letter suggested the timing of the laptop story&#8217;s emergence had &#8220;all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.&#8221; POLITICO, which obtained the letter, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/19/hunter-biden-story-russian-disinfo-430276" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published</a> a headline in 2020 saying the intel veterans were claiming the laptop story was &#8220;Russian disinfo.&#8221;
Many of the contents of the laptop and hard drive have been <a class="c-link c-link--focus-visible" href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/03/30/hunter-biden-laptop-data-examined/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-stringify-link="https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/03/30/hunter-biden-laptop-data-examined/" data-sk="tooltip_parent" data-remove-tab-index="true">analyzed and shown to be authentic</a> over the past few years, but during a debate in the final stretch of the 2020 election cycle, Joe Biden was able to <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/house-gop-demand-records-from-ex-intel-officials-about-hunter-biden-laptop-letter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cite</a> the letter to cast doubt on the Post&#8217;s reporting.
A new <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2024-06-25%20The%20Intelligence%20Community%2051%20-%20How%20CIA%20Contractors%20Colluded%20with%20the%20Biden%20Campaign%20to%20Mislead%20American%20Voters.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees, along with the Weaponization panel, said emails showed that at least some of the letter&#8217;s signatories were on &#8220;active contract&#8221; with the CIA during its drafting, review, and publication. A CIA employee&#8217;s internal email in response to the letter said, &#8220;This frustrates me. I don&#8217;t think it is helpful to the Agency in the long run.&#8221; Another said, &#8220;I also love that at least a few of the random signatories belong to individuals currently working.&#8221;
The report said the investigating committees requested the identities of all the CIA contractors on the letter, but the agency has not &#8220;declassified the complete list of individuals &#8230; due to purported operational security&#8221; beyond disclosing Morell and Buckley.
A chart shows that three—including ex-CIA Director John Brennan, former CIA official Marc Polymeropoulos, and former National Counterterrorism Center Director Nick Rasmussen—were not contracted with the CIA on October 19, the date of the letter.
Congressional Republicans previously revealed that Morell <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2023-04-20-jdj-mt-to-blinken-re-public-statement-on-hunter-biden-emails_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said &#8220;yes&#8221;</a> when asked if a call around mid-October 2020 from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/antony-blinken" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Antony Blinken</a>, an adviser to Joe Biden&#8217;s campaign who now serves as secretary of state, triggered a series of events that led to the letter.
Blinken <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/blinken-denies-asking-for-hunter-biden-laptop-letter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">denied soliciting the letter</a>, but emails show Morell asked fellow intelligence veterans to add their names to it with a stated purpose of giving Biden&#8217;s campaign a debate &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-cia-chief-sought-debate-talking-point-with-hunter-biden-laptop-letter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">talking point</a>.&#8221; Another top Biden campaign official later <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/media/press-releases/new-testimony-reveals-secretary-blinken-and-biden-campaign-behind-infamous#:~:text=Morell%20testified%20that%20his%20communication,him%20for%20writing%20the%20statement." target="_blank" rel="noopener">thanked</a> him.
The new report noted Morell acknowledged it is &#8220;inappropriate for a currently serving staff officer or contractor to be involved in the political process,&#8221; though Hatch Act political restrictions do not apply to them in the same way they do to CIA employees.
&#8220;Such an overtly political action would be illegal under the Hatch Act for a permanent CIA employee. Congress ought to consider whether to extend this important prohibition to CIA contractors as well,&#8221; the report from the GOP-led House panels added.
Also mentioned in the report is how the CIA&#8217;s Prepublication Classification Review Board (PCRB) received a draft of the letter because former senior intelligence officials had signed it, and a top officer said he informed the top brass that it would be published soon.

While the report asserts senior CIA leadership had an opportunity at that time to &#8220;slow down the CIA’s process for reviewing publication submissions&#8221; and &#8220;ensure that such an extraordinary statement was properly vetted,&#8221; the agency defended its work.
A process in which CIA officers are required to &#8220;sign a secrecy agreement that includes a lifelong obligation to submit any and all intelligence-related materials&#8221; to the PCRB before they are published was followed, a CIA spokeswoman told the New York Post.
Confirmation by the PCRB that &#8220;information is unclassified is never an endorsement of the reviewed content or its veracity,&#8221; the CIA spokeswoman added. &#8220;These former officers were not speaking for CIA.&#8221;

A Clark County judge on Friday dismissed the charges filed against the six <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nevada" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nevada Republicans</a> who were accused of submitting fraudulent electoral votes for former President Donald Trump in 2020 election.
Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus dismissed the case because she said that it was filed in the wrong jurisdiction.
&#8220;I can&#8217;t see jurisdiction here. I can&#8217;t see it. I can&#8217;t see how I have any jurisdiction in this case,&#8221; she said, adding: &#8220;You have literally, in my opinion, a crime that has occurred in another jurisdiction. It’s so appropriately up north and so appropriately not here.&#8221;
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, a Democrat, claimed that the judge &#8220;got it wrong&#8221; and said that his office would appeal the ruling at the state Supreme Court, The Nevada Independent <a href="https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/judge-dismisses-nevada-fake-electors-case-over-lack-of-jurisdiction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
The report noted that the state cannot refile the case because the three-year statute of limitations expired at the end of last year.
A lawyer for one of the defendants said that the state&#8217;s prosecution was &#8220;done.&#8221;
A grand jury in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County indicted Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald, national committeeman Jim DeGraffenreid, Clark County Republican Party chair Jesse Law, state party vice chair Jim Hindle III, Shawn Meehan, and Eileen Rice in December of last year.

All six individuals were indicted on two felony counts of offering a false instrument for filing and uttering a forged instrument by submitting fraudulent documents to state and federal officials. The two felony charges were category C and D felonies, respectively, and carried a maximum of four years and five years in prison.
Other states — all of them swing states — are prosecuting Republicans who were allegedly involved in what Democrat prosecutors have claimed were similar schemes, including Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona.

A Georgia appellate court on Wednesday halted the 2020 election interference case against former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump">Donald Trump</a> and his allies — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-win-appeals-court-to-review-decision-allowing-da-fani-willis-to-stay-on-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">during an appeal</a> of a decision that allowed Fulton County District Attorney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fulton-county-prosecutors-have-another-recording-of-trump-pressuring-georgia-house-speaker-to-overturn-election-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fani Willis</a> to stay on the case.
The Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia <a href="https://x.com/gringsam/status/1798448165773062201" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> a brief order staying the &#8220;underlying proceedings.&#8221; A tentative hearing date has been set for <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-georgia-election-indictment-fani-willis-1c14171f33e7fb76bf3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">October 4</a>, which combined with the pause all but assures a trial would not start before the November election.
Judge Scott McAfee determined in March the defendants failed to prove a conflict of interest existed due to a romance between Willis and her special prosecutor in the case, Nathan Wade. However, the judge raised concerns about the &#8220;<a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/03/15/georgia-trump-fani-willis-wade-relationship-ruling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appearance of impropriety</a>&#8221; and only allowed Willis to press forward after Wade <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nathan-wade-steps-down-as-special-prosecutor-in-trump-georgia-case-following-judges-ruling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resigned</a>. Her other option was to step down.
Trump and some of his co-defendants moved to appeal, <a href="https://static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics/documenttools/daa8595470bc27ca/0f310db3-full.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arguing</a> Willis should be disqualified and that the case should be dismissed. They claimed the romance flush with gifts and trips &#8220;created an appearance of impropriety in this case that cast a pall over these entire proceedings.&#8221; Willis then filed a motion insisting there was &#8220;<a href="https://www.11alive.com/article/news/special-reports/ga-trump-investigation/fulton-county-da-court-appeals-decline-review-disqualification-ruling/85-43861f0b-9934-4ab7-8d21-591ab3332656" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no basis</a>&#8221; to grant a review of the lower-court order.
The Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-georgia-election-indictment-fani-willis-1c14171f33e7fb76bf3bdae6aba57d1d" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Wednesday the appeals court, which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-win-appeals-court-to-review-decision-allowing-da-fani-willis-to-stay-on-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreed</a> to hear the challenge a month ago, has until mid-March to issue a ruling and then the losing side would be able to seek relief from the Georgia Supreme Court. A trial date had not yet been set in the racketeering case, but CNN noted that Willis had <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/21/politics/fani-willis-trump-georgia-trial/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hoped</a> to have it before the 2024 election.
Trump and 18 co-defendants pleaded not guilty to a bevy of charges in the Georgia case. Four have since taken <a href="https://www.courthousenews.com/fourth-trump-co-defendant-takes-plea-deal-in-georgia-election-interference-case/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plea deals</a>. Toward the end of last month, Willis <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fani-willis-appeals-dismissal-of-charges-against-trump-in-georgia-2020-election-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appealed</a> McAfee&#8217;s decision to dismiss six of 41 counts lodged at Trump and his co-defendants. The judge had opined the &#8220;lack of detail concerning an essential legal element&#8221; in the dismissed charges was &#8220;fatal.&#8221;
As Trump seeks a second White House term, the former president has broadly denied wrongdoing across multiple cases. A judge <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/federal-judge-indefinitely-postpones-trumps-classified-documents-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">delayed</a> a federal classified documents case trial indefinitely. The Supreme Court is <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-trial-jan-6-supreme-court-immunity-jack-smith-985c2c52088d5af4d574a9f9258bcf9b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">considering</a> an immunity question in a federal election case. Only one, an election-related &#8220;hush money&#8221; case in New York, has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/where-all-the-trump-cases-stand-as-hush-money-trial-begins" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gone to trial</a>. A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jury found Trump guilty</a> on all counts last week. Trump has vowed to appeal the decision.

She <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fani-willis-easily-wins-democratic-primary-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won the Democratic primary</a> last month by a wide margin, after which Wade showed up at the victory celebration that night. “Well consider me shook. Court Pauses Georgia Election Case Against Trump, Likely Until After The 2024 Election

Joe Biden&#8217;s campaign strategy in 2024 is really puzzling.
He has not been running to the middle. He has not been trying to unite the country. Biden&#8217;s campaign strategy is apparently now completely banking on people believing that Joe Biden is a sympathetic elderly man who genuinely cares about people.
It&#8217;s a weird strategy, but you have to understand why Joe Biden is employing it.
When it comes to presidential elections since 2008, there have been three types of elections.
One: Unity Elections. Elections where the referendum was about unity. Are we going to come together as a country? Who’s the kind of person who can unify us?
Two: Revolution Elections. Let’s overturn what has existed previously and completely revamp the system.
Three: Cares-About-Me Elections. Elections in which the level of how much compassion the candidate supposedly has for you decides the election.
2008 was a Unity Election. Barack Obama campaigned as, “I am the great unifier. I am not black, not white, no red America, blue America. There is just America.” That was a Unity Election. We would all come together. We would end our racial conflagrations by electing a half-black president who, in his very personage, embodied the American Dream.
Weirdly enough, 2020 was also a Unity Election. The 2020 election took place in the middle of massive riots and a huge controversy about COVID-19. So the question for the American people was, who can bring us together? Who can restore some sense of calm, tranquility, and social fabric? People opted for Joe Biden in that election, mainly because Donald Trump seemed to be incredibly volatile.

So, 2008 and 2020 were about calmness and unity, although that&#8217;s not what emerged from them.
A Revolution Election occurred in 2016, when the American people were deeply unhappy with the way the country was going, and they wanted a revolution. That revolution was Donald Trump. 
Then, there is the Cares-About-Me Election, situations where the candidate who was perceived as most caring won. There have not been that many of these in American history, but it was the campaign Barack Obama ran in 2012.
The truth was that Obama did not care about people who opposed him. Those people, for him, were bad. But he believed he had a coalition of people who had great personal and emotional connection with him, and he would drive to victory on that basis.
Now, if you&#8217;re Joe Biden, what kind of election do you want 2024 to be? It&#8217;s very difficult for him to run on unity because he has not unified the country as president. Biden has been president for three years. Not only is the country not unified, but things are also far worse than when he took over. By virtually every metric, he can&#8217;t run a unity election.
He also can&#8217;t run a Revolution Election. He&#8217;s not Bernie Sanders. He was elected to be a moderate and, not only that, but how do you run a Revolution Election against yourself? Revolution Elections are typically won by the non-incumbent party because you have to be overturning something.
That leaves Biden with only one kind of election he can run: a Cares-About-Me Election.
This is evident in Joe Biden&#8217;s tactics over the last few weeks. Virtually everything he has done is geared toward this particular line: He cares about people like you.
To understand why this is a failing strategy for Biden, the nature of the past few American elections is critical to understand. The 2012 election is the election that Biden clearly wants to copy. Barack Obama, an incumbent president who won by a large number of votes in 2008, won reelection in 2012, despite losing five million votes in the popular vote from the previous election.
The question is about how Obama won. It wasn&#8217;t on the basis of his policy. His policies were incredibly unpopular at the time. It turns out that by all of the available exit polling, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney in 2012 on one metric: Who cares more about people like you? <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/11/a-draw-on-the-economy-a-win-on-empathy-and-the-face-of-a-changing-nation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC News exit polling</a> in 2012 showed Obama beat Romney by “a whopping 63 points” when it came to which candidate cared more about you.
Exit polling from <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/2016-election/exit-polls/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the Washington Post</a> in 2016 showed the one factor where Donald Trump skunked Hillary Clinton in 2016: By 82-14, Trump demolished her on who could bring needed change. A Revolution Election.
In <a href="https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/exit-polls/president/national-results" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2020</a>, Biden beat Trump 75-24 in who could unite the country and 68-26 on who had better judgment. Trump beat Biden 72-28 on who was a strong leader and 50-49 on “cares about people like me.”
That was a sea change for the Republican Party. Better than any Republican candidate in living memory, Trump has made a significant slice of the electorate — blue-collar, white Americans — believe that he cares about people like them. A huge percentage of the electorate believes the Democratic Party has abandoned them, and Trump makes them feel connected to him.
That is because he connects with them on an emotional level. When Trump is at events, he connects with people on a one-to-one level. He speaks the language they speak.
But in 2020, that wasn&#8217;t enough because there was so much chaos, and the American people believed the qualities of a uniter and of good judgment were more important than those of a strong leader and one who cared about people like them.
 But now, it’s 2024 and Biden has no choice — because the shift toward Trump has been so marked. 
When it comes to the candidate who “has good judgment,” Biden has failed signally. He has fallen off dramatically in those categories. An <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/643100/biden-bests-trump-likability-trump-seen-better-leader.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">April 2024 Gallup poll</a> asked who “displays good judgment in a crisis,” and Trump won 45-40. <a href="https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/exit-polls/president/national-results" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN exit polling</a> in 2020 had Biden leading Trump 68-26 in the category of good judgment. That means there has been a massive 47-point swing toward Trump.
Biden has to rely on the Cares-About-Me Election because this time, the election can&#8217;t be a Revolution Election and it also can&#8217;t be a Unity Election.
The big problem for him is convincing people that an 80-year-old senile man who stumbles into walls, yells at people on a regular basis, and is crotchety and nasty to people around him, cares about people like them.
Does anyone look at Biden and think, “He cares about people like me”? His hand-holding routine — the sympathy limned as, “This is a man who knows what it&#8217;s like to suffer, and he&#8217;s suffered just like you suffered” — was much better 20 years ago. How many times can you drag out the Beau Biden story in the wrong context before you stop looking sympathetic and you start looking manipulative?
And how do you claim that you are the party of caring when the vast majority of Americans are not happy with the situation and your strategy is to appeal to your radical base?
Joe Biden is not capable of winning a Cares-About-Me Election.
