<h2 style="text-align: center;">‘Industrial-Scale Fraud’ In Minnesota</h2>
Stunning new details have surfaced in Minnesota’s sprawling fraud scandal, which is largely tied to the state’s Somali community. Federal prosecutor Joseph Thompson revealed in a shocking press conference that at least $9 billion of taxpayer money could have been stolen in an “industrial-scale fraud” operation. There were 14 taxpayer-funded programs in particular that have been rife with fraud since 2018. Those programs cost $18 billion dollars, and Thompson said it’s possible that half of that, or more, could have been fraudulently claimed. Fraud has been particularly bad in Minnesota, despite some politicians in the state trying to downplay the scandal. 
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Fulton County Admits It Broke Election Rules In 2020</h2>
Election officials in Georgia say that Fulton County violated state election rules when it certified some 315,000 ballots in the 2020 election. The issue came over tabulation tapes and &#8220;zero&#8221; tapes. State election rules say these tapes have to be signed by election workers to certify their authenticity, but for most of the polls across Fulton County, the tapes weren’t signed. Those tapes account for essentially every early in-person vote cast in Fulton County in 2020–about 315,000 in total. County officials essentially admitted to the mistake in a December 9 Georgia State Election Board meeting, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2025/12/17/fulton-county-we-dont-dispute-315000-votes-lacking-poll-workers-signatures-were-counted-in-2020/">the Federalist reported</a>.

The prosecution dropped the Georgia 2020 election interference case against President Donald Trump on Wednesday, saying it was no longer realistic to continue pursuing it.
In a filing in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia, Prosecuting Attorneys&#8217; Council Director Peter Skandalakis said that he was dropping the case against Trump and his co-defendants “to serve the interests of justice and promote judicial finality.”
The filing brings an end to a lengthy legal saga that included Trump’s iconic mugshot from the Fulton County Jail to the removal of District Attorney Fani Willis from the case over allegations that she improperly appointed her ex-boyfriend as a special prosecutor to investigate it. Skandalakis took over the prosecution after Willis was disqualified, and the state Supreme Court blocked her appeal to have the case returned. 
The presiding judge approved the motion.
&#8220;The case is hereby dismissed in its entirety,&#8221; Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee wrote.
Trump celebrated the decision on Truth Social, saying it was the end of another &#8220;witch hunt&#8221; against him.

“As a former elected official who ran as both a Democrat and a Republican and now is the Executive Director of a non-partisan agency, this decision is not guided by a desire to advance an agenda but is based on my beliefs and understanding of the law,” he said. “I begin the process of evaluating this case with a basic truth: It is not illegal to question or challenge election results. Our nation’s foundational principles of free speech and electoral scrutiny are rooted in this very freedom.&#8221;
Skandalakis said he believed the case would be better suited for federal court than for state court. 
“There is no realistic prospect that a sitting President will be compelled to appear in Georgia to stand trial on the allegations in this indictment. Donald J. Trump’s current term as President of the United States of America does not expire until January 20, 2029; by that point, eight years will have elapsed since the phone call at issue,” he wrote. 
He also said that it would be “illogical and unduly burdensome and costly” for Fulton County to try to prosecute Trump’s co-defendants without Trump as well. This includes figures such as Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark.

Republican senators caught up in Jack Smith’s phone-record seizures may soon get their chance to strike back thanks to a provision quietly tucked into a bill the Senate passed Monday night.
The provision was included in a bill that funded the legislative branch and was part of the package passed by the Senate to end the government shutdown. It would allow senators to sue for damages if the government accessed their records without their knowledge. 
“Any senator whose Senate data, or the Senate data of whose Senate office, has been acquired, subpoenaed, searched, accessed, or disclosed in violation of this section may bring a civil action against the United States if the violation was committed by an officer, employee, or agent of the United States or of any federal department or agency,” the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/119/bills/hr5371/BILLS-119hr5371eas.pdf">bill </a>says. 
The provision applies when their Senate data was “acquired, subpoenaed, searched, accessed, or disclosed pursuant to a search, seizure, or demand for information without notice being provided.”
Senators could be entitled to up to $500,000 per violation, and they would have five years from the date of learning of the infraction to bring a suit. 
“No officer, employee, or agent of the United States or of any Federal department or agency shall be entitled to assert any form of absolute or qualified immunity as a defense to liability,” the provision adds. 
If a senator is under criminal investigation and there’s concern about evidence being destroyed or the senator fleeing, officials can delay notification, but only for 60 days.
The provision comes after Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/beyond-watergate-bidens-fbi-snooped-on-phone-records-from-gop-lawmakers-in-trump-investigation">revealed</a> that he had uncovered evidence that the FBI analyzed the metadata of phone calls from several Republicans in Congress, including Sens. Marsha Blackburn (TN), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Ron Johnson (WI), Tommy Tuberville (AL), Dan Sullivan (AK), Josh Hawley (MO) Bill Hagerty (TN), Lindsey Graham (SC), and Rep. Mike Kelly (PA).
The FBI took those actions as part of Smith’s “Arctic Frost” investigation, which led to President Donald Trump being charged in Washington, D.C., over accusations that he tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The Biden administration also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-justice-department-took-unprecedented-action-against-trump-bondi-reveals">turned over</a> Trump&#8217;s government-issued phone to Smith as part of the investigation and subpoenaed his personal phone records. 
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) told POLITICO that Senator Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) included the provision in the bill.

In a series of 60-40 votes on Monday night, the Senate passed a package of spending bills to end the government shutdown that now heads to the House. The package is expected to end the longest government shutdown in history and pass after enough Democrats crossed the aisle to give the GOP-led Senate the 60 votes needed for approval.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Tuesday that the Biden administration turned over President Donald Trump’s government phone to Jack Smith as he snooped through the president’s phone records as part of his wide-reaching investigation into the 2020 presidential election.
Bondi made the announcement on X, confirming previous revelations from Senate Republicans that the FBI seized Trump&#8217;s government-issued phone as part of Smith’s Arctic Frost investigation. That investigation, supposedly into Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election, targeted hundreds of Republicans in Congress and Trump allies outside of Capitol Hill.
“During the Arctic Frost Investigation, we found that Special Counsel seized President Trump’s government-issued phone. This means the Biden Administration turned over President Trump’s phone to Special Counsel—an UNPRECEDENTED action,” Bondi <a href="https://x.com/AGPamBondi/status/1985754381216624949">said</a>. “In addition, Special Counsel subpoenaed all of President Trump’s PERSONAL phone records.”
“We can never again allow this kind of government weaponization in America,” Bondi added. “I submitted these new documents to our partners on Capitol Hill. I commend our team at the FBI for working diligently to expose this.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt commented more on the revelation during Tuesday’s press briefing.

According to a March 2025 <a href="https://www.grassley.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/grassley_johnson_to_doj_fbi_-_arctic_frost_updates.pdf">letter</a> from Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), the FBI first began the process of seizing Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence’s phones in April 2022 before they gained access to them and entered them as evidence in May 2022.
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), one of the GOP senators who was targeted in the probe, said the news should enrage every American.

The FBI has been caught rifling through the phone records of nearly a dozen Republican members of Congress — all swept up in special counsel Jack Smith’s relentless pursuit of President Donald Trump.

The document Grassley shared showed that the FBI obtained the toll data of the GOP lawmakers&#8217; calls, meaning they gathered basic information, such as the date and time of certain phone calls. The agency did not monitor the content of the communications, the senators said.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated on Tuesday that agents had been fired as a result of the revelations and noted that the CR-15 squad, a public corruption unit within the FBI that assisted Smith’s investigation, had been disbanded. 
“Transparency is important and accountability is critical. We promised both, and this is what promises kept looks like. This FBI is delivering,” Patel <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/1975506285656207664">said</a>. “As a result of our latest disclosure about the baseless monitoring of members of Congress by the prior leadership team of the FBI, we have already taken the following actions: We terminated employees, we abolished the weaponized CR-15 squad, and we initiated an ongoing investigation with more accountability measures ahead.”

“We were surveilled simply for being Republicans,” he said. “What the Biden Administration has done is an outrageous abuse of power — it is blatant political persecution. Those responsible must be held fully accountable.”
Sen. Hawley <a href="https://x.com/HawleyMO/status/1975305232071487986">called</a> for a full investigation into the FBI&#8217;s handling of the tracking.
“This is an abuse of power beyond Watergate, beyond J. Edgar Hoover, one that directly strikes at the Constitution, the separation of powers, and the First Amendment,” he said. “We need a full investigation of all involved: who knew about it, who ordered it, and who approved it.”

‘Beyond Watergate’: Biden’s FBI Snooped On Phone Records From GOP Lawmakers In Trump Investigation

Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis cannot continue her criminal prosecution of President Donald Trump and his allies after a ruling from the Georgia Supreme Court on Tuesday.
In a 4-3 decision, the state’s high court declined a request from Willis to review the Georgia Court of Appeals’ ruling that disqualified the Democratic district attorney from prosecuting the 2020 election interference case over the conflict of interest she created when she hired her then-boyfriend, Nathan Wade, as a special prosecutor. The ruling means that the 2020 case against Trump and his allies is dead, unless another prosecutor brings charges, The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5505353-willis-disqualification-trump-georgia-case/">reported</a>.
“The Georgia Supreme Court has correctly denied review of the Georgia Court of Appeals decision disqualifying DA Fani Willis and her office as prosecutors in the Fulton County RICO case,” said Steve Sadow, the lead attorney for Trump in Georgia. “Willis’ misconduct during the investigation and prosecution of President Trump was egregious, and she deserved nothing less than disqualification. This proper decision should bring an end to the wrongful political, lawfare persecutions of the President.”
A nonpartisan state agency will now be tasked with finding another prosecutor to determine if the case against Trump can proceed, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution <a href="https://www.ajc.com/politics/2025/09/fani-willis-loses-last-chance-to-stay-at-the-helm-trump-georgia-election-interference-case/">reported</a>. Willis <a href="https://apnews.com/article/fani-willis-appeal-georgia-supreme-court-trump-7be50feee272612484490b53592e7e08">said</a> that she hopes another prosecutor “will have the courage to do what the evidence and the law demand.” If another prosecutor is assigned the case, he could continue pursuing the exact charges that Willis did, choose to pursue some of the charges, or dismiss the case, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/fani-willis-appeal-georgia-supreme-court-trump-7be50feee272612484490b53592e7e08">Associated Press</a>.
In December, the Georgia Court of Appeals ruled that Willis’ actions presented a “rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings.” Wade had little experience prosecuting cases when Willis hired him to lead the Fulton County prosecution of Trump. Willis was accused of paying Wade hundreds of thousands of dollars and vacationing with him multiple times, with Wade paying for some of the trips. Both Willis and Wade testified that Willis reimbursed him for her share of the trip costs.
Willis became a star in the Democratic Party when her office brought 13 charges against Trump after he challenged Georgia’s election results in 2020. In 2023, Trump and 18 others were indicted under Georgia’s anti-racketeering law and accused of engaging in a scheme to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results that helped push Joe Biden into the White House.
Trump said the charges were another political “witch hunt.” The case brought against Trump by Willis’ office resulted in Trump being forced to pose for a mug shot, which quickly went viral. Trump displayed a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-hangs-mugshot-outside-oval-office-so-bad-a-that-its-surreal">framed</a> picture of the mugshot just outside the Oval Office shortly after he was sworn in for his second term.

Georgia Supreme Court Rejects Last-Ditch Effort From Fani Willis To Prosecute Trump

Former Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump said on Tuesday that she was grateful for journalist Jake Tapper apologizing to her months after a heated debate over former President Joe Biden&#8217;s mental acuity, but added that the CNN host&#8217;s change of heart &#8220;feels a little bit too late.&#8221;
Following the release of his book, &#8220;Original Sin,&#8221; which documents the cover-up of Biden&#8217;s decline in the White House, Tapper said he apologized to Trump for berating her after she pointed out Biden&#8217;s mental struggles during an interview in October 2020. Trump, the president&#8217;s daughter-in-law, confirmed that Tapper called her &#8220;about two months ago&#8221; to promise that he would go on TV to apologize. Trump said she appreciated &#8220;that he did keep his word.&#8221;
&#8220;He said, &#8216;I have this book coming out, and I know everybody is saying that I should apologize to you. I plan, whenever the book comes out, to go on TV and I will say you were right and I was wrong.&#8217; And I guess to Jake&#8217;s credit, he did that,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/lara-trump-reveals-story-behind-cnn-anchor-jake-tappers-a-little-bit-too-late-apology" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
&#8220;I think the overarching thing here is that the damage is done,&#8221; she added. &#8220;We were so close to something so dangerous happening to this country. &#8230; And Jake Tapper saying that this is like a Watergate-level type of situation, now that he played a role in it, it feels a little bit too late to me. I do appreciate that he did keep his word, though, and has come out and said that I was right.&#8221;
During the October 2020 interview, which took place just weeks before the presidential election between Biden and Trump, Tapper pushed back against Mrs. Trump for questioning Biden&#8217;s mental acuity, arguing that Trump was exploiting Biden&#8217;s stutter.
&#8220;I think what we see on stage, Jake, is very clearly a cognitive decline,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;Ok &#8230; I think that you were mocking his stutter. And I think that you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody&#8217;s cognitive decline,&#8221; Tapper replied.

While on a media tour to promote his book earlier this month, Tapper <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6wrn09T30I" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> British TV host Piers Morgan, &#8220;Knowing what we know now, and looking back on that interview, which I feel tremendous humility about, she [Lara Trump] was right, and I was wrong.&#8221;
&#8220;I did not see, in the moments he was having, I did not see that as cognitive decline,&#8221; he added.
Tapper has been blasted for publishing a book about Biden&#8217;s mental decline — an issue conservatives had been raising for years — after the former president left office.

On Thursday, the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee announced that it received bombshell evidence that suggested Pfizer executives pushed to delay full testing for their company&#8217;s COVID vaccine until after the 2020 election.
British drugmaker GSK informed the panel that Philip Dormitzer, a former Pfizer executive who became a senior scientist at GSK, told colleagues at GSK that &#8220;in late 2020, the three most senior people in Pfizer R&amp;D were involved in a decision to deliberately slow down clinical testing so that it would not be complete prior to the results of the presidential election that year.&#8221;
The Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), said that it had sought information from GSK after The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/health/pharma/pfizer-covid-vaccine-2020-election-probe-2f3ec247" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in March that U.S. prosecutors were looking into a tip from the company that came in &#8220;soon&#8221; after President Donald Trump won a second term in 2024.
The Journal noted that Trump, who lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential contest, &#8220;for years has claimed that Pfizer sat on the positive results of clinical trials, which could have reflected well on his management of the pandemic and reassured voters as they headed to the polls. There has never been evidence to support the accusation, and the development of the Covid vaccines is widely viewed as a medical miracle, coming faster than any other vaccine in history.&#8221;

As relayed by the Judiciary Committee, GSK responded to the panel&#8217;s inquiry in mid-April. In another part of the reply given to congressional investigators, GSK said Dormitzer had requested a transfer over concerns about what the new Trump administration might do to him.
&#8220;In November 2024, shortly after the election, Dr. Dormitzer approached a representative from the GSK human resources team to speak about a potential relocation abroad. As the human resources representative recalls, in their meeting, Dr. Dormitzer was visibly upset; he requested that he be relocated to Canada due to concerns that he could be investigated by the incoming Trump Administration over his role in developing Pfizer&#8217;s COVID-19 vaccine,&#8221; GSK said. &#8220;According to the human resources representative, when asked what prompted his request, Dr. Dormitzer made a comment to the effect of: &#8216;Let&#8217;s just say it wasn&#8217;t a coincidence, the timing of the vaccine.'&#8221;
The Journal reported in March that GSK and Pfizer, who are rivals in the pharmaceutical industry, have sued each other over patent rights tied to vaccines.
Dormitzer, who has since left GSK, provided a statement to the newspaper.
&#8220;My Pfizer colleagues and I did everything we could to get the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization at the very first possible moment,&#8221; Dormitzer said. &#8220;Any other interpretation of my comments about the pace of the vaccine’s development would be incorrect.&#8221;
The House panel sent a <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2025-05-15-jdj-to-dormitzer-re-vaccine-delay.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to Dormitzer requesting documents and a transcribed interview by May 29. Pfizer Chairman and CEO Albert Bourla was the recipient of another <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2025-05-15-jdj-to-pfizer-re-vaccine-delay.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> that sought records by the same date.
In response to a request for comment, a Pfizer representative told The Daily Wire that the company received the letter asking about the allegations in the Wall Street Journal report and &#8220;will respond directly&#8221; to the House Judiciary Committee.
Pfizer also provided a statement that said: &#8220;The COVID-19 vaccine development process was driven by science and guided by the U.S. FDA back in 2020. We have consistently and transparently reiterated the facts and the timeline of the tireless work of scientists, regulators, and thousands of clinical trial volunteers who made the vaccine possible. Theories to the contrary are simply untrue and being manufactured.&#8221;
The Judiciary Committee emphasized that it is &#8220;unclear which Pfizer R&amp;D employees were involved with Dr. Dormitzer in the decision to delay the clinical testing,&#8221; but did note that he &#8220;represented to GSK that Pfizer&#8217;s CEO was not aware of the delay.&#8221;
A GSK spokesperson declined to comment.
Jordan (R-OH), a close ally to Trump, <a href="https://x.com/Jim_Jordan/status/1923046662139785572" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X in response to the information obtained by his panel: &#8220;Did Pfizer executives conspire to delay COVID-19 vaccine testing to influence the 2020 election? In an interview with Morning Wire that was released on Sunday, Washington Free Beacon reporter Jon Levine opened up about the FBI&#8217;s coverup of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020.
Earlier this week, the House Judiciary Committee <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/02/opinion/miranda-devine-new-fbi-chat-logs-reveal-extraordinary-gag-order-senior-leadership-used-to-shutdown-any-hunter-biden-laptop-discussion/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> that after the New York Post published the Biden laptop story in October 2020, the FBI instructed its agents not to discuss it and even scolded one agent for confirming the story&#8217;s authenticity. According to chat logs released by the House Judiciary Committee, an FBI analyst confirmed the Biden laptop story to Twitter and was promptly &#8220;admonished&#8221; by higher-ups who lamented that &#8220;he won&#8217;t shut up.&#8221;
In one discussion, an FBI attorney told an agent, “Please do not discuss the Biden matter.”
Levine, who formerly wrote for the New York Post, told Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley that he and his team at the Post &#8220;already kind of knew the FBI knew [the laptop] was real,&#8221; but added that the House Judiciary Committee&#8217;s revelations were &#8220;new&#8221; to him.
&#8220;And it&#8217;s extra insidious because if you go back to that time, which is now five years ago, the FBI was running around that same week saying, &#8216;Well, we&#8217;re looking into this being a Russian information dump,'&#8221; Levine said. &#8220;So on the same week, the same day, they knew it was real, they were counter-programming the narrative.&#8221;

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/collections/the-hunter-biden-files" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Wire review</a> of the contents of Biden&#8217;s laptop conducted by reporter Luke Rosiak revealed Hunter Biden&#8217;s attempts to use the family name for massive business deals and propose business plans that would apparently include Joe Biden.
The FBI appeared to know about the laptop in the weeks before the story dropped, asking social media companies to look out for a Russian “hack and leak” operation involving Hunter Biden. The suppression of the story — and of the New York Post — that followed likely had a major impact on the 2020 presidential election.
&#8220;They were actively casting doubt on it when they knew it was real. And it&#8217;s inescapable now that it was clearly so they could help steer the election towards Joe Biden, which is actually what happened,&#8221; Levine told Morning Wire.
It would have been one thing for the FBI to say that it was looking into the matter and wasn&#8217;t going to comment, but the bureau actively tried to discredit the story, Levine said.
&#8220;When they were actually the ones who were speaking the falsehoods, we were trying to tell the truth. They essentially ran an information operation on the American people,&#8221; he added. &#8220;They spread us a bunch of BS because the truth was detrimental to Joe Biden. They didn&#8217;t want it out.&#8221;
Asked if he thinks trust in the FBI can be restored under new leadership after the Hunter Biden laptop saga, Levine said that there must be a complete overhaul of the top leadership and mid-management agents.
&#8220;It&#8217;s not the rank and file people. They&#8217;re very good,&#8221; he said, adding, &#8220;I think we should get a slimmed-down FBI because obviously we&#8217;ve seen how they abuse their power, and Democrats will be in charge at some point again. And I don&#8217;t want a giant FBI in the hands of Democrats.&#8221;

The Justice Department is dropping a Biden-era challenge to a Georgia election integrity law passed in the aftermath of the 2020 election, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Monday.
Bondi said that her department would no longer seek to block Georgia from enforcing SB 202, a Republican-backed measure that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/georgias-election-integrity-act-everything-you-need-to-know" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tightened </a>absentee voting requirements. After the implementation of the law, the Biden administration sued to block it from taking effect, alleging that it targeted black voters.
“Contrary to the Biden Administration’s false claims of suppression, black voter turnout actually increased under SB 202,” Bondi said. “Georgians deserve secure elections, not fabricated claims of false voter suppression meant to divide us. Americans can be confident that this Department of Justice will protect their vote and never play politics with election integrity.” 
The law, passed in March 2021, mandated a voter ID requirement for absentee voting, required election workers not to stop counting the votes after they’ve begun, and limited the availability of ballot drop boxes to only inside early voting locations during business hours. 
At the time, President Joe Biden <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/democrats-excoriate-new-voting-restrictions-georgia-make-it-illegal-give-n1262181" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decried</a> the law, calling it “Jim Crow in the 21st Century” and “a blatant attack on the Constitution.”
The law induced corporate backlash from companies like Coca-Cola and Delta. It even prompted Major League Baseball to yank the All-Star Game from Atlanta, costing the state tens of millions of dollars. 
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said that the decision from the Justice Department was a win for Georgia voters.
&#8220;This reaffirms that the Election Integrity Act stands on solid legal ground,&#8221; he said Monday. &#8220;Our commitment has always been to ensure fair and secure elections for every Georgian, despite losing an All-Star game and the left’s boycott of Georgia as a result of commonsense election law.&#8221;​
Raffensperger also asked for the release of any documents showing coordination between Biden&#8217;s DOJ and outside groups on the case.
While many Democrats claimed that the law would depress voter turnout, Georgia <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dems-compared-georgia-election-law-to-jim-crow-the-state-just-broke-its-early-voting-record" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saw</a> record day one early vote turnout in 2024 when there were 328,000 ballots cast, a substantial increase from the previous 2020 record of 136,000.
Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley praised the DOJ for dismissing the case. 
“This is a victory for election integrity and a defeat for every Democrat who lied about Georgia’s election law,” he said. “The RNC has been proudly fighting to defend SB202 ever since it was passed, which is why we intervened as soon as the Biden Justice Department filed this lawsuit. States like Georgia should be praised, not punished, for making their elections more secure.”

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr said Monday that the state Supreme Court should not take up an appeal from Fulton County District Attorney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fani-willis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fani Willis</a> to be reinstated to the case against President-elect Donald Trump. 
The Georgia Court of Appeals <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fani-willis-disqualified-from-trump-election-case-what-does-that-mean-for-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disqualified Willis from prosecuting</a> the 2020 election interference case against Trump and more than a dozen co-defendants because of an apparent conflict of interest she created by hiring her then-boyfriend Nathan Wade as a special prosecutor. 
“The Georgia Court of Appeals has ruled that the Fulton County DA created her own conflict and rightfully removed her from the case against President-elect Trump,” Carr said. “‘Lawfare’ has become far too common in American politics and it must end.”
“As such, I would encourage the Georgia Supreme Court to not take her appeal,” he added. “It’s our hope that the DA will now focus taxpayer resources on the successful prosecution of violent criminals in Fulton County.”

Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp echoed Carr’s sentiment.
“Agreed, [Georgia AG]! Georgians deserve safe communities and partisan politics out of our courtrooms,” Kemp<a href="https://x.com/BrianKempGA/status/1873835123936030918"> posted</a> on X. 
Trump lawyer Steve Saddow also <a href="https://x.com/stevesadow/status/1873792007602098421" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreed</a> with Carr, saying that a lower court had previously “abused its discretion by failing to disqualify Wade AND DA Willis” and that the Appeals Court was simply providing an “appropriate remedy.” 
Willis <a href="https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5060177-georgia-attorney-general-fani-willis-trump-appeal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> Carr’s statement was motivated by his desire to run for governor. 
“If Mr. Carr cannot separate his ambition to become Governor from his duties as Attorney General, he should resign and focus on being a full-time candidate rather than serving as a constitutional officer sworn to uphold the Constitutions and laws of the United States and Georgia,” she said. 
On December 19, the Georgia Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 to disqualify Willis from the case. 
“While we recognize that an appearance of impropriety generally is not enough to support disqualification, this is the rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings,” <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25464412-trumpgaappealsopn121924/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> Judge Trenton Brown.
Willis was accused of hiring Wade, who had little experience prosecuting cases, and paying him hundreds of thousands of dollars, which they used to fund lavish vacation trips.

Top Georgia Officials Say Court Should Reject Fani Willis Trump Prosecution Appeal

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fbi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FBI</a> had at least 26 informants in Washington, D.C., on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/january-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">January 6</a>, 2021, the day of the U.S. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/capitol-riot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Capitol riot</a>, including some who committed offenses but are not among the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/capitol-breach-cases" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hundreds who have been charged</a> with crimes, the inspector general for the Department of Justice said in a report released on Thursday.
Informants, or confidential human sources (CHSs) as they are called by the U.S. government, <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/about/faqs/what-is-the-fbis-policy-on-the-use-of-informants" target="_blank" rel="noopener">are used by</a> law enforcement for various investigations, yet the sheer number of them suspected to have been in the crowd on January 6 has fueled concerns about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-and-capitol-police-identified-credible-threats-but-failed-to-follow-procedure-in-run-up-to-january-6-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">intelligence failures</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/proud-boys-defense-attorney-claims-50-informants-revealed-in-january-6-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">doubts</a> about whether they acted appropriately.
The <a href="https://oig.justice.gov/sites/default/files/reports/25-011_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new report</a> said the inspector general&#8217;s team determined three informants were tasked by FBI field offices in the days leading up to the January 6 certification of the presidential election results with the &#8220;required approval&#8221; by the FBI&#8217;s Washington Field Office to travel to D.C. for events to report on &#8220;domestic terrorism subjects&#8221; who were possibly going to be in attendance.
A review by the watchdog found that these three CHSs and another 23 FBI informants who were in D.C. for January 6 events did not receive authorization to enter the Capitol or a restricted area, &#8220;or to otherwise break the law&#8221; on January 6. The inspector general&#8217;s report also stressed that none of the informants were directed by the FBI to &#8220;encourage others&#8221; to commit illegal acts on January 6.
However, the inspector general&#8217;s team determined, four informants entered the Capitol during the riot and another 13 of them entered a restricted area around the building, &#8220;which was a security perimeter established in preparation for&#8221; the certification process. Despite this finding, none of the CHSs have been prosecuted to date, the watchdog added.

A footnote in the report included a response from the U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office in Washington, D.C., which said it &#8220;generally has not charged those individuals whose only crime on January 6, 2021 was to enter the restricted grounds surrounding the Capitol, which has resulted in the Office declining to charge hundreds of individuals; and we have treated the CHSs consistent with this approach.&#8221;
The report said the inspector general&#8217;s team determined that &#8220;many&#8221; of the informants provided &#8220;relevant&#8221; information related to the January 6 electoral certification and a few also gave details about the riot as it occurred. Information provided included particulars related to the Oath Keepers, some of whom were later found guilty of <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/four-additional-oath-keepers-sentenced-seditious-conspiracy-related-us-capitol-breach" target="_blank" rel="noopener">seditious conspiracy</a> and sentenced to prison.
Still, the report said the information was &#8220;no more specific than, and was consistent with, other sources of information&#8221; about the potential for violence on January 6. And, the inspector general&#8217;s team noted, a review of FBI field offices did not &#8220;identify any potentially critical intelligence related to a possible attack on the Capitol on January 6 that had not been provided to law enforcement stakeholders&#8221; prior to that day.
The watchdog said it found no evidence the FBI had undercover employees in the &#8220;protest crowds&#8221; or at the Capitol on January 6, which FBI officials stressed would have been against the bureau&#8217;s policy with regard to First Amendment-protected events &#8220;absent some investigative authority.&#8221; A Washington Field Office official told the inspector general&#8217;s team he denied a request to have an undercover employee &#8220;engage in investigative activity&#8221; on that day.
One issue raised by the watchdog was that some of the intelligence obtained by informants was not &#8220;adequately shared&#8221; with the Washington Field Office or, if it was shared, was not sufficiently followed up on by the office. In its recommendations, the inspector general advised the FBI to &#8220;assess&#8221; how it prepares for &#8220;potential domestic security issues&#8221; that are not designated National Special Security Events to help ensure &#8220;clarity&#8221; of responsibilities.
The FBI, in its response, said it &#8220;continues to disagree&#8221; with some of the &#8220;factual assertions&#8221; in the watchdog&#8217;s report, but said it accepted the recommendation. It also noted that the Department of Homeland Security has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-ratchet-up-security-for-electoral-vote-certification-on-january-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">designated</a> the 2025 certification as a National Special Security Event, which was not the case in 2021, but was &#8220;nonetheless committed&#8221; to assessing policies and procedures for further events that do not receive such a ratcheted-up level of security.
