#YWLS2016: ‘The Left’s Worst Nightmare’

   DailyWire.com

Last week, over 500 young conservative and libertarian female student activists from across the U.S. gathered in Dallas, Texas, for Turning Point USA’s 2nd annual Young Women’s Leadership Summit (YWLS). While progressives were busy celebrating dead babies and flashing unkempt lady parts presumably for the sake of empowering women, the young YWLS attendees were busy learning about ways they can be America’s youngest generation of “winning women.”

For three days, the diverse crowd of like-minded female high school and college students representing 42 different states participated in conservative activist training, networking, seminars with guest speakers, and an optional first-class banquet. They heard from successful female role models such as Carly Fiorina, Mary Katharine Ham, Katie Pavlich, Katherine Timpf, and Tomi Lahren.

These young women, unlike the stereotypical campus feminists often in the press for mob-like tendencies and their role as mortal enemies of the “white male” species, were quite accepting of male voices just as well. They welcomed engaging discussions by conservative male speakers such as Guy Benson, Ben Shapiro, Joe Walsh, and TPUSA’s founder Charlie Kirk.

Tennessee Representative Marsha Blackburn opened the event Sunday evening with lessons about hard work. Over the next couple of days, the women were taught how to use the internet as their personal power tool, and watched as successful businesswomen such as Amanda Owens and Heidi Ganahl shared personal stories of entrepreneurship.

Conservative female journalists such as Katie Pavlich, Ashley Pratte, and Amber Smith were featured in a Women in Media panel Tuesday, followed by an impassioned discussion with rape survivor Kimberly Corban on a woman’s right to defend herself via carry. Tomi Lahren talked about the illusion of modern-day feminism and its destructive underlying messages, and then joined the young audience for individual picture-taking.

A panel on Wednesday featuring Guy Benson and Mary Katharine Ham discussed their book, End of Discussion: How the Left’s Outrage Industry Shuts Down Debate, Manipulates Voters, and Makes America Less Free (and fun!). Though American Airlines failed to deliver their next speaker, Ben Shapiro, to the YWLS stage that day, the audience was able to interact with him via Skype as he spoke and took questions from the audience. The event concluded with a lecture from none other than Carly Fiorina.

The young attendees of #YWLS2016, ranging between ages 13 and 25, are the left’s worst nightmare because, unlike the Democratic female presidential candidate, their biggest asset is not their genitalia. These brilliant and well-educated young women have a lot more to offer America than identity politics, armpit hair, and government-subsidized birth control. They offer moral wit, integrity, and a strong desire to win; and the left is about to find out just how much.
