Despite being governed for decades by anti-science eco-freaks, including failed Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (still can’t believe I voted for that guy), despite having some of the toughest environmental regulations in the country; instead of being golden, the state of California is now more of a gunky, brownish color.
No fewer than six – count ’em, six! – of America’s most polluted cities can be found in the Democrat-run/Open Borders/Multiculturalism Utopia of California:
- Bakersfield, CA
- Visalia, CA
- Fresno, CA
- Modesto, CA
- Fairbanks, AK
- San Francisco, CA
- Salt Lake City, UT
- Logan City, UT
- Los Angeles, CA
- Reno, NV
As a former resident of Los Angeles (who fled back to the Blue Ridge Mountains after ten years), the fact that Los Angeles is not at the top of this list can only mean these other cities resemble “Blade Runner.” California has already instituted draconian (and expensive) tailgate emission standards and eliminated coal-fired power plants. So the problem is obviously not a lack of government regulation. However …
The report ranking of these cities (from the American Lung Association) calls for even MORE government regulation, most especially from the FEDERAL government, and to no one’s surprise, President Trump is going to kill a lot of people …
Trump’s budget proposal contains a 31% cut to the agency, including weakening or eliminating the Clean Air Act, which the report says has been the most important tool in the fight for healthy air by driving emission reductions for more than 47 years.
“Everyone has a fundamental right to breathe healthy air,” said Harold P. Wimmer, the president and CEO of the American Lung Association said.
Also of note is that the American Lung Association in part blames the pollution in California on the state’s population increases. More people obviously means more cars on the road and more trucks criss-crossing the state to distribute food and other goods.
Oddly enough, though, no mention is made of California’s enormous population of illegal immigrants.
In just one year, nearly a million illegal aliens received drivers licenses in California.
You think maybe people who should not be in the state are contributing to the air pollution problem?
Overall, official estimates are that some two million illegals live in California, but if nearly a million were granted drivers licenses, I think we can all agree that the number is much, much, MUCH higher than that.
California has no legitimate excuse for its status as what can only be described as a failed state. Everything that should make it a paradise was created by the Almighty: an amazing climate, beautiful oceans and mountains, rich farm land, and an abundance of natural resources. The Golden State did indeed used to be the Golden State, but now it is yet another piece of evidence on the pile that proves leftists eventually ruin everything, and do so on purpose.
