YG: American Air Kicked Me Off Plane Because They’re ‘Racist.’ American Air: His Video Shows Why We Booted Him.

In a video posted to Twitter, rapper YG accused American Airlines of kicking him off a flight at LAX on Monday because they’re “racist.” But the airlines says they’re decision to remove him from the flight had nothing to do with race and everything to do with his alleged lack of sobriety.

“F*** American Airlines,” declared the musician (real name Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson) in a video he recorded on his cell phone then posted on Twitter with the caption, “F*** @AmericanAir THEY RACIST.”

“They kicked me off the plane saying I’m drunk,” YG told his followers. “I’m soberer than a motherf***er.”

But in a statement to Page Six, American Airlines refuted the rapper’s claim, pointing to the video as evidence of their rationale for removing him.

“The video speaks for itself – he was removed due to being intoxicated,” a representative for the airlines said. He had gotten on the flight, which was heading to JFK from LAX, but at around 8:37 p.m., he was “asked to deplane due to being intoxicated a short time later,” the representative said.

The company also posted a response to YG’s accusatory video:

Despite the incident, the performer reportedly managed to catch a flight with Delta and made it to his final destination.
