WUT? Salon.com Thinks Trump Is A Mass Murdering Racist, And That He Controls Bombing In Syria

   DailyWire.com

Salon is a leftist news site that should be treated as The Onion, given that it gets roundly mocked for its ridiculous posts–such as one about normalizing pedophilia–but one Thursday piece was off the rails, even for Salon.

The piece–written by Rebecca Gordon and originally published at Tomdispatch.com–is titled, “Hey, President Donald Trump: Do you know where your bombs are falling?” followed by the sub-header that reads: “Donald Trump is set to see a never-ending, 15-year-old worldwide war.”

Anyone who is literate can see that the headline and sub-header contradict each other. By asking Trump “where your bombs are falling,” it implies that Trump is bombing “Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and, oh yes, Yemen” even though Trump isn’t even president yet. The sub-header then says that Trump will inherit the war on terrorism–meaning that he should know where America is dropping its bombs.

The latter point is likely what Gordon was trying to make in her piece, which turned into a lengthy diatribe about why the U.S. shouldn’t be involved in Yemen, despite the fact that the country is overrun with al-Qaeda terrorists and the Iran-allied Houthi rebels. Gordon seriously tried to claim that the Houthis aren’t allied with Iran, but they actually are.

Gordon also smeared a number of Trump’s cabinet members.

“Donald Trump has already promised to nominate a segregationist attorney general, a national security adviser who is a raging Islamophobe, a secretary of education who doesn’t believe in public schools, and a secretary of defense whose sobriquet is ‘Mad Dog,'” Gordon wrote.”How worried should we be that General James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis may well be the soberest among them?”

None of Gordon’s insinuations about Trump’s cabinet members are true, as can be seen in the Daily Wire‘s primer on each of them here, here, here and here. And her point about the “Mad Dog” nickname being a warning sign for Mattis is asinine beyond belief.

It’s not unusual for Salon to produce thoughtless pieces of drivel, but Gordon’s piece reaches a new level of absurdity.
