As reported by The Daily Wire, the United Nations dropped comic book heroine Wonder Woman as their honorary equality ambassador earlier this month, in response to mounting pressure from left-wing social justice warriors who found the fictional character too sexy and too white. Israeli actress Gal Gadot is now firing back at the UN for their pathetic caving. Godot plays Wonder Woman in an upcoming film and was previously presented with the UN honorary ambassadorship along with former Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter.
“There are so many horrible things that are going on in the world, and this is what you’re protesting, seriously?” said the actress in a statement, highlighting the petty obsession with a fiction character when there are literal genocides occurring.
Gadot also tackled the criticism that Wonder Woman is too sexy:
“When people argue that Wonder Woman should ‘cover up,’ I don’t quite get it. They say, ‘If she’s smart and strong, she can’t also be sexy.’ That’s not fair. Why can’t she be all of the above?” she asked.
“You can be beautiful and sexy and smart and successful and confident but still you can be vulnerable,” Gadot added.
The spineless UN nixed Wonder Woman soon after a petition calling for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to rid the honorary appointment was shared online, reaching over 44,000 signatures.
“It is alarming that the United Nations would consider using a character with an overtly sexualized image at a time when the headline news in United States and the world is the objectification of women and girls,” reads the petition.
“Although the original creators may have intended Wonder Woman to represent a strong and independent ‘warrior’ woman with a feminist message, the reality is that the character’s current iteration is that of a large breasted, white woman of impossible proportions,” it continues.
There were even silent protests within the UN walls over Wonder Woman, with members turning their backs when the appointed was officially declared.
A spokesman for the UN skirted the issue of the organization bucking Wonder Woman over social pressures, contending that campaigns using fictional characters usually only last a few months.
This is not the first time Gadot, an outspoken Israeli defender, has been targeted by rabid social justice warriors. As reported by Daily Wire’s James Barrett in July, leftist went after Gadot after they found out their new feminist hero was not only Israeli, but proud of her heritage and her country.
