Three major presidential candidates were asked to name their favorite world leader, and they all gave the same idiotic answer: German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The question became a prominent one after Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson had a massive brain fart and was unable to name any world leaders that he thought highly of when pressed by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. When GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was asked the question on New England Cable News, he responded: “I think Merkel is a really great world leader, but I was very disappointed that — when she — this move with the whole thing on immigration. I think it’s a big problem and really, you know, to look at what she’s done in the last year and a half. I was always a Merkel person. I thought really fantastic. But I think she made a very tragic mistake a year and a half ago.”
Hillary Clinton was also asked the question, and she lavished praise on Merkel as “an extraordinary, strong leader during difficult times in Europe.”
“Her bravery in the face of the refugee crisis is something that I am impressed by,” Clinton continued.
Johnson’s running mate, Bill Weld, attempted to bail out Johnson by also naming Merkel as his favorite world leader. Green Pary presidential candidate Jill Stein simply doesn’t understand the definition of a world leader.
The fact that Trump, Clinton and Weld all named Merkel as their favorite world leader makes them sound moronic. Despite the rise of ISIS and the increasing number of terror attacks throughout Europe, Merkel is doubling down on her policy of importing Muslim refugees that have been a disaster for her country, as The Daily Wire‘s Michael Qazvini has discussed here and here.
In fact, back in August Trump hammered Clinton as “America’s Angela Merkel” for wanting “to increase the flow of Syrian refugees by 550 percent.” This was an effective attack at the time, but it is now blunted since Trump has said Merkel is one of his favorite leaders.
Such is the state of the country when none of the prominent presidential candidates named Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as one of their favorite world leaders.
