Set up a reminder for Sept. 14, because that’s when ex-Saturday Night Live comedian Norm Macdonald’s new Netflix show premiers.
With Michelle Wolf gone, Netflix can try some real comedy, starting with a 10-episode first season of “Norm Macdonald Has A Show,” which features the comedian hosting his own talk show with help from Adam Eget. Deadline has the list of celebrity guests for the first season.
“They include Drew Barrymore, David Spade, Judge Judy, David Letterman, Jane Fonda, Chevy Chase, M. Night Shyamalan, Michael Keaton, Billy Joe Shaver and Lorne Michaels,” Deadline reports.
Macdonald has been a staple of the comedy – and more recently, sports – scenes for decades, starring in TV shows (including “A Minute With Stan Hooper,” which this reporter watched) and movies like “Dirty Work” and the Dr. Dolittle series (he voiced the dog). He’s also hosted podcasts and been a commentator for “High Stakes Poker” on the Game Show Network, while continuing to perform stand-up around the country (Full disclosure: Saw him perform in Philadelphia about eight years ago). More recently he portrayed KFC mascot Colonel Sanders and released a book.
