Only days after Harvey Weinstein was transferred to Rikers Island jail in New York City, Juda Engelmayer, the convicted rapist’s publicist, says that Weinstein believes he suffered a concussion after falling this past weekend.

According to Page Six, Weinstein has had a “pounding” headache ever since falling over at the jail on Rikers Island, where he has not been permitted to use his walker.

“He fell on his head and thinks he has a concussion,” Engelmayer told the news agency on Sunday. “His head has been pounding since yesterday.”

“He’s miserable but trying to be optimistic as best he can,” said Engelmayer. “He has had a lot of time to think about his life and be humbled, but he thinks it’s going to be a long, uphill battle from here.”

In a report released today, Engelmayer told CNN that Weinstein was dizzy before the fall and his head continues to throb. According to Engelmeyer, Weinstein has not been officially diagnosed with a concussion, and it is currently unclear whether he has sought diagnosis.

After the trial, Weinstein spent nearly two weeks in the hospital after he experienced chest pains at the end of his high-profile sexual assault trial, reports Page Six. The disgraced movie producer was found guilty of a first-degree criminal sex act and third-degree rape, but was acquitted on two counts of predatory sexual assault, the most serious charges.

“He’s miserable but trying to be optimistic as best he can,” Engelmayer told the news agency. “He has had a lot of time to think about his life and be humbled, but he thinks it’s going to be a long, uphill battle from here.”

According to The New York Times, Weinstein will face sentencing on Wednesday, March 11, and prosecutors have asked the court to consider a filing they have submitted, which lead prosecutor Joan Illuzzi says details a “lifetime of abuse toward others, sexual and otherwise.”

The filing contain findings from the Manhattan prosecutor’s two-year investigation into Weinstein, including allegations that Weinstein had been committing sex crimes as early as 1978. The filing also alleged Weinstein had hired a private intelligence firm to intimidate people with information damaging toward him, reports the news agency.

As The Daily Wire previously reported, Weinstein has been charged in Los Angeles for two sexual assaults that were allegedly committed back in 2013, within days of each other.

“We believe the evidence will show that the defendant used his power and influence to gain access to his victims and then committed violent crimes against them,” said Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey in a press conference shortly before the Manhattan trial began.

“We allege that the first sexual assault took place on February 18, 2013, in a Los Angeles hotel room. For those crimes, defendant Weinstein is charged with one felony count each of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration by use of force.”

In addition, Weinstein “also faces one felony account of sexual battery by restraint of another woman. We allege the second assault took place the next evening in a hotel suite in Beverly Hills. Each of these victims told at least one person about the assault in 2013. They reported the crimes to police in 2017.”
