On Thursday, PragerU uploaded a new video featuring Will Witt asking strangers on Santa Monica Beach questions regarding the Fourth of July.
Here are some of the saddest answers preceded by Witt’s questions:
WITT: Why do we celebrate the Fourth of July?
“Uhh…I don’t really know.”
“I forgot.”
WITT: Why is the significance of 1776?
“Is that when Columbus sailed the ocean blue?”
“I don’t even know what that is.”
“[It’s the] Civil War, or the end of it. End of slavery.”
Several individuals responded correctly to both questions, but the fact that so many people didn’t know the answers is deeply troubling.
