<p>On Tuesday evening, the U.S. officially announced our withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). In doing so, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley blasted the council for scapegoating nations with clean human rights records (clearly signaling our support for Israel) and propping up human rights abusers whose regimes go without scrutiny.</p>
<p>&#8220;Human rights abusers continue to serve and be elected to the council. The worst most inhuman regimes continue to escape scrutiny,&#8221; slammed Haley. &#8220;And the council continues the politicizing and scapegoating of countries with positive human rights records in an attempt to distract from the abusers and their ranks.&#8221;</p>
