At the Oscars on Sunday, Natalie Portman displayed her own bit of girl power by wearing a cape embroidered with the names of lady directors she believed deserved a nomination that year over some of the male candidates.

“I wanted to recognize the women who were not recognized for their incredible work this year, in my subtle way,” Portman said on the red carpet.

Since then, social media and other feminist icons, such as Rose McGowan, have roundly mocked Portman for such empty virtue-signaling. Joining them on Wednesday was British comedian Ricky Gervais. In a black and white video posted to Twitter, Gervais featured himself in a bathtub while speaking to the camera in a low grizzled voice about “all the known Hollywood perverts who haven’t been caught yet.”

“Inspired by brave Natalie Portman, and her embroidered Oscars dress, I ain’t got a dress, um,” Gervais said in the video. “So I’ve written on my body all the known Hollywood perverts who haven’t been caught yet.”

Gervais then revealed several illegible names written on his wet chest. “He’s a groper. But he paid them off,” Gervias said as he pointed out a name. “Pedo. He’ll f***ing stick it anywhere, this c**t is a complete nonce.”

As reported by The Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo, actress Rose McGowan, one of Harvey Weinstein’s main accusers and noted feminist, severely criticized Portman’s Oscar attire in light of the fact Portman’s production company has hired only one female director: herself.

“Some thoughts on Natalie Portman and her Oscar ‘protest.’ The kind of protest that gets rave reviews from the mainstream media for its bravery. Brave? No, not by a long shot,” said McGowan in a lengthy Facebook post. “More like an actress acting the part of someone who cares. As so many of them do … Natalie, you have worked with two female directors in your very long career — one of them was you. You have a production company that has hired exactly one female director — you. You are the problem. Lip service is the problem. Fake support of other women is the problem.”

“I am singling you out because you are the latest in a long line of actresses who are acting the part of a woman who cares about other women,” continued McGowan.  “Actresses who supposedly stand for women, but in reality do not do much at all. Of course women in the world will keep buying the perfumes you promote, the movies you make, and think they’re buying into who you are. But who are you?”

Ricky Gervais became somewhat of a folk hero last month when he trolled the entire Hollywood establishment while hosting the Golden Globes, scolding them as woke hypocrites who pay lip-service to virtue while doing nothing to change themselves.

“So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech,” he famously said. “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.”
