We’ve all desperately missed her since her departure from MSNBC last year, but thanks to a resurfaced video, the American public can enjoy the ever-wacky Melissa Harris-Perry one more time!
Harris-Perry, who once wore tampon earrings on national television to prove the point that women menstruate(?), shows off her social justice genius during an anti-science rant about abortion in the newly-uncovered video; this was before she essentially called her bosses racist and was subsequently dumped from NBC.
Not only does the former host manage to explain that a fertilized egg is some species other than human after conception, but she also makes the economic argument for murder of unborn innocents. You know, because Democrats magically turn fiscally responsible when it comes to the termination of innocent human life. Inconsistent and immoral!

“But the reality is that if this thing turns into a person, right, there are economic consequences, right?” says Harris-Perry, holding up a model of a fertilized egg. “The cost to raise a child, $10,000 a year up to $20,000 a year. When you’re talking about what it actually costs to have this thing turn into a human, why not allow women to make the best choices that we can with as many resources and options instead of trying to come in and regulate this process?”
Oh, Mel. What species is that zygote if not human? Perhaps a cat, or a chicken? Also, when does this “thing turn into a human” post-conception? Or is that determined by the feelings of the mother?
So. Much. Science.
And again, the argument for terminating innocent life being dependent on economics seems completely just, particularly since everybody knows that children conceived from poor parents aren’t as deserving of life as those from affluent parents.
