A hilarious new video features college students admitting that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) needs to pay more in taxes to fund his government program.
Derek Muncy of Hypeline News interviewed students on the Ohio State University campus about tax rates. Muncy attempted to gauge what level of taxation the students felt is too high – 10 percent, 15 percent and 25 percent? Most of the students agreed that 25 percent was too onerous, particularly for them.
When Muncy revealed to them that Trump paid 25 percent of his income in taxes in 2005, the students were shocked. When he revealed that Sanders only paid 13.5 percent of his income in taxes in 2014, the students were completely floored.
Muncy asked the natural follow-up question: Should Sanders pay more in taxes to fund the generous government programs he espouses instead of putting the burden on Trump?
Surprisingly, many students – even those who are fans of the wild-eyed socialist – ended up admitting that the logic follows that Sanders should actually pay more in taxes. They agreed that the 25 percent tax rate on Trump was too onerous and Sanders needs to fund his government programs.
Some students were stumped; their reactions were hilarious.
One student simply mumbled when Muncy told him that Trump paid 25 percent in taxes. When Muncy asked him if Sanders was paying too much in taxes, the student stared off into space. Muncy pointed out to the student that Trump’s $38 million in tax dollars were funding Sanders’ programs.
Another student went completely silent when asked if Sanders should pay for the spending programs he promotes instead of burdening Trump with a hefty tax rate.
The hysterical video is worth a full watch, as it shows that perhaps there is hope for the millennial generation after all if they are confronted with facts and a natural logical progression.
