On Wednesday night, transgender activist Jessica Yaniv was arrested and charged with assault against Canadian reporter Keean Bexte.

In video recorded by The Rebel’s Bexte last week, Yaniv appears to shove and punch the journalist outside the B.C. courts.

According to the reporter, Yaniv, famous for suing women who would not wax his genitals, “spent time behind bars on the charge of assault,” The Post Millennial noted. The activist is reportedly facing up to five years behind bars.

“Bexte, being the alleged victim in this particular case, was able to confirm the arrest Wednesday afternoon,” the outlet reported.

“Yaniv has been ordered to cease all contact with me, both directly and indirectly,” the reporter said. “I can’t wait for the day when Yaniv is put away for the long haul. He is dangerous and unpredictable.”

“J. Yaniv just punched me in the back of the head. Just spoke to police. Luckily there are two security cameras directly overhead at the courthouse. I need an advil,” Bexte captioned the video of the alleged assault, last week.

“Following Yaniv’s court appearance at the courthouse in Surrey I approached him outside – where filming was allowed. I had one question, I wanted to know if he would be pleading guilty or not,” the reporter told The Daily Wire. “Within several seconds, Yaniv charged me and punched the back of my head while holding me down. Police have been reluctant to charge him before, and so I’m speaking to legal council to figure out my options to make sure this menace sees justice.”

WATCH:

Yaniv made headlines in 2019 when the activist filed at least 15 human rights complaints against female estheticians in Canada for refusing to wax his male genitals, as chronicled by The Daily Wire.

However, in October, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, a group that represented five of the women being targeted by Yaniv, announced that the activist’s cases against their clients had been tossed by the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal. Moreover, Yaniv was instructed to pay $2,000 each to at least three of the women.

“The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) is pleased to announce that the BC Human Rights Tribunal has ruled in favour of home estheticians’ right to refuse to handle male genitalia against their will,” a press release from JCCF said, The Post Millennial reported.

“According to the group, the tribunal’s decision said that ‘human rights legislation does not require a service provider to wax a type of genitals they are not trained for and have not consented to wax,’” The Daily Wire noted. “Moreover, it was noted that Yaniv ‘engaged in improper conduct’ and ‘filed complaints for improper purposes.’ The activist’s testimony, according to the ruling, was ‘disingenuous and self-serving,’ and Yaniv was ‘evasive and argumentative and contradicted herself.’”

Over the summer, Yaniv was pressed by Irish broadcaster Niall Boylan on “The Niall Boylan Show” about the quest to have female estheticians wax male genitals. The activist seemingly hung up mid-interview.

“Now, you believe in God; I respect the fact that you believe in God. And I respect your point of view and I respect your belief and your faith in God. That doesn’t mean I have to believe in God. Do you understand the point?” Boylan asked.

“I do,” answered Yaniv.

“Some people may respect you, and may respect that you want to be called Jessica, but they just don’t believe it,” the host continued. “I’ll call him Jessica, I’ll respect that, but I don’t believe it and I don’t buy into it. … So what you’re essentially asking these women to do a service on you that they don’t believe in. They don’t want to handle a man’s genitalia. Is that fair?”

“I’m protected under the BC Human Rights Code —” Yaniv responded.

“And those women are protected, and those women are protected who have a right to say no,” Boylan interjected.

“They don’t,” the activist answered. “Because, essentially … .”

“Why do your rights trump theirs?”

Yaniv said the Tribunal is “coming to a balancing act to see how rights play out in this whole thing.”

The host told Yaniv that this was his main concern: Yaniv should be free to live his life how he chooses, as should the female estheticians.

“Not when they discriminate against the rights of others,” Yaniv protested.

“They’ll argue that they’re not discriminating; they’re saying, ‘I’m sorry, we don’t supply a service … of the removal of hair from a genitalia that’s from a man,’” Boylan said. “And that’s what they’re saying; they’re using they shouldn’t be forced to do that.”

That was the end of the interview, as Yaniv was no longer on the line.
