Tina Fey’s “sheetcaking” Saturday Night Live skit, in which she addressed the violence in Charlottesville and the wave of white supremacists rallies, has earned both praise and outrage from the Left. The best thing Americans could do to protest the alt-right white nationalists, suggested Fey in a “Weekend Update” skit on Thursday night, was to stay home.
Fey, a former “Weekend Update” host, made a guest appearance on the segment Thursday to the delight of the audience. A University of Virginia graduate, Fey was introduced by co-host Colin Jost as coming on to give a personal message regarding the tragedy from the previous weekend and the upcoming white nationalist rallies.
