Three Arrests Made After Violent Antifa Protests In Portland

   DailyWire.com

On Saturday, three far-left Antifa protesters were arrested in Portland, Oregon. The violence during the organized counter-demonstration was well-documented online, and included shocking video wherein Antifa members viciously assaulted and robbed journalist Andy Ngo. It’s unclear, however, if any of the arrests were made in connection with the attack on Mr. Ngo, who reportedly suffered a brain hemorrhage, among other injuries.

According to Fox 12 Oregon, the arrests included two females and one male, all of whom are in their early 20s:

Gage Halupowski, 23, on charges of second-degree assault and assault on a public safety officer.

James K. Stocks, 21, on the charge of harassment.

Maria C. Dehart, 23, on the charge of second-degree disorderly conduct and harassment.

Left-wing groups Rose City Antifa and the Democratic Socialists of America of Portland were among those attending a counter-demonstration to dozens of people gathered for a “Him Too” rally, Fox 12 Oregon noted. The Him Too movement reports to bring awareness to male sexual assault victims and to men victimized by false accusations. Members of the right-wing Proud Boys were also reportedly in attendance.

“Police said officers had been hit with eggs and milkshakes,” the outlet reported. “They also reported that ‘violent assaults’ had taken place. Police said there were reports of pepper spray and bear spray used by people in the crowd.”

Ngo was attacked around 1 p.m. local time, The Daily Wire’s Ashe Schow reported on Saturday.

“Attacked by antifa. Bleeding. They stole my camera equipment. No police until after. waiting for ambulance. If you have evidence Of attack please help,” the Quillette editor posted in the aftermath of the assault.

In video captured during the event, Ngo is seen being brutally punched and kicked by Antifa, Schow noted, while others threw milkshakes. As reported later in the evening by Portland Police, some of the “milkshakes” being thrown by the far-left group contained quick-dry cement. In other words, being “milkshaked” by Antifa might feel like having cement blocks thrown at you.

“Police have received information that some of the milkshakes thrown today during the demonstration contained quick-drying cement. We are encouraging anyone hit with a substance today to report it to police,” the department tweeted.

According to Ngo’s lawyer, the journalist suffered brain bleeding from the attack.

Ngo, who frequently covers Antifa demonstrations in Portland, was attacked by group members in November 2018.

“I was assaulted by a mob of masked individuals in black. They also targeted my equipment. They called me a fascist & Islamophobe. They said my parents & grandparents would be ashamed of me,” the journalist said. “It feels surreal to be treated this way by people who don’t even know me.”

“I feel a bit rattled by the experience. I’ve had things thrown at me before but today I was surrounded, cursed, & pushed by Antifa,” Ngo added. According to the journalist, Portland officers merely “stood by” during the November attack.
