Teenage Girl Kidnapping Suspect In Seattle Suburb Is A Twice-Deported Illegal Alien

We live in a country where, according to the Department of Justice itself, a whopping 43% of all federal offenses are committed by non-citizens. That is an eye-gouging statistic. Nonetheless, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has released 168,000 illegal aliens into the interior just since December, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection itself released another 33,000 into the interior just from March through May. Mass catch-and-release, which 2020 Democratic presidential candidates seem to be endorsing en masse, is quite literally deadly.

The tragedy of illegal alien crime in America is that every single criminal act is preventable — and would have been prevented if feckless political elites would merely enforce immigration law. Here is how then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions put it last year:

Every crime committed by an illegal alien is, by definition, a crime that should have been prevented. It is outrageous that tens of thousands of Americans are dying every year because of the drugs and violence brought over our borders illegally and that taxpayers have been forced, year after year, to pay millions of dollars to incarcerate tens of thousands of illegal aliens.

Conservative commentator Daniel Horowitz phrased it similarly last year:

[I]f we implemented border and interior enforcement and ended all amnesty magnets, we wouldn’t have illegal immigration, and therefore, we would not have robust transnational drug cartel networks operating undetected in our country. Many downstream and secondary American drug traffickers would never have the opportunity to get involved in the drug trade, which in itself would reduce the flow of drug criminals into both federal and state prison. More importantly, fewer people would die.

Now, The Seattle Times highlights how a suspect charged with luring and second-degree assault after he allegedly tried to force a 14-year-old girl into his pickup truck is actually a twice-deported illegal alien:

King County prosecutors Monday charged a 51-year-old Burien man with luring and second-degree assault for allegedly trying to drag a Federal Way girl into his truck last week.

Esequiel Medina-Vasquez was arrested Thursday night and remains jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail, jail and court records show. …

Federal court records show Medina-Vasquez, a citizen of Mexico, was deported from Arizona in 2007 and from Chelan County in Eastern Washington in 2014. After he was deported from Washington, King County prosecutors say he was again arrested in 2017 for entering the country illegally, but the charging documents don’t say where he was arrested.

Seattle-based radio host Dori Monson provides more color:

Medina-Vasquez has been deported twice before, in 2007 and 2014. He was also arrested in 2017 for coming into the country illegally, but clearly he didn’t get sent back to Mexico. He was allowed back on the streets, where he was able to attempt a sexual assault against a 14-year-old girl. …

We have the most lax laws. We are attracting drug vagrants, and we are attracting illegal immigrants. We are seeing the ramifications of it on the streets with all of the women who are being sexually assaulted, from the woman at the Ballard car dealership to Kelly Herron at Golden Gardens, to this teenage girl in Burien.

Washington is the best place to be if you’re an illegal immigrant. We’ve got sanctuary everything and a governor who tells you you’re a pillar of the community when you come into this country illegally and commit crimes. What a great place to come and abduct 14-year-old girls.

Amidst our current ongoing crisis at the southern border, every town, it seems, is a border town.
