On Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow channeled her inner Geraldo Rivera to bring us Al Capone’s Vault 2.0. Maddow, who hilariously refers to herself as a “journalist,” brought on reporter David Cay Johnson to reveal President Donald Trump’s 2005 tax return, only to inadvertently reveal that Trump is an upstanding citizen who paid a whopping $36 million in income tax that year alone.
In other words, Maddow’s attempt to paint Trump as a tax-shielding Scrooge McDuck with nefarious Russian ties was an epic fail.
During the collapse of yet another Left-wing conspiracy theory, Johnson, Maddow’s accomplice, saw fit to slut shame First Lady Melania Trump.
Speaking with MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell about possible monies on a tax form, Johnson said Melania had done “very sleazy porn.”

Trump “has wages and salary income, which is unusual for someone in his case,” said O’Donnell.
“It could be hers,” suggested Johnston. “His wife was a model.”
“Right,” responded the MSNBC host. “She’s on here, but she was never at that league.”
“She did do very sleazy porn,” said the reporter, now off-camera but heard loud and clear.
Maddow, sitting to the right of the reporter, interjected a quick “hey, hey, hey” to signal disapproval, before scurrying along to continue the Trump bashing and insinuations of laughable Trump-Russia connections which exist only in her head.
Curiously, the Left has been rather silent on this incident. This is extremely odd, considering how trigger-happy leftists usually are when it comes to overt, subtle or even non-existent misogyny coming from anyone on the Right.
But Melania has never really earned any support from so-called feminists. After a New York Times reporter called the First Lady a “hooker,” we witnessed think-pieces from “feminist” outlets like Slate whitewashing the slut-shaming and instead targeting the model who outed the NYT reporter.
The same goes for White House counselor Kellyanne Conway. When a Democratic representative made an oral sex joke at Conway’s expense, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi refused to condemn him.
And then there’s Ivanka. Feminists have written think-pieces about how her good looks and success are harmful to feminism. Some feminists even suggested she had it coming when the First Daughter was accosted on an airplane while traveling with her family.
Moral of the story: Slut shaming, sexism, misogyny is completely fine when it’s targeted at women on the Right.
