This week, a tool from Ground News was widely shared on Twitter, providing apparent insight into the ideological “blindspot” of users of the social media platform.

“Do you have a news blindspot?” the tool asks, offering the ability to “Analyze the news diet of any account on Twitter.”

The results for CNN figures may, or may not, surprise you.

Brian Stelter

Host of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” Stelter claims to act as a check on conservative media. However, according to Ground News’ Blindspotter, 94% of the news Stelter interacts with on Twitter “leans Left.” His top three sources are CNN, The New York Times, and Politico, with his top three news influencers being Oliver Darcy, James Poniewozik, and Sara Fischer.

According to Blindspotter, Brian Stelter “may have a blindspot on the Right.”

Jake Tapper

According to Blindspotter, 87% of the news the CNN anchor interacts with leans Left, with his top three sources being CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post. The “Blindspot Analysis” also concludes that Tapper “may have a blindspot on the Right.”

CNN

Amusingly, the entire CNN account “may have a blindspot on the Right,” given that “100% of the news [CNN] interacts with on Twitter leans Left,” according to Blindspotter. It doesn’t have any top sources listed, but its top three news influencers are Anderson Cooper 360°, Wolf Blitzer’s Situation Room, and Aleksander Lee, with all three accounts deemed to interact with left-leaning news at least 99% of the time.

Don Lemon

Another CNN host, Don Lemon, also “may have a blindspot on the Right” according to Blindspotter. 95% of the news Lemon interacts with on Twitter “leans Left,” with his top news sources being CNN, Mediaite, and the New York Times.

Chris Cuomo

According to Blindspotter, CNN’s Chris Cuomo “may have a blindspot on the Right.” However, his interactions are comparatively bipartisan, with only 77% of the news he interacts with on Twitter “leaning Left.” His top sources are CNN, The Daily Beast and Newsweek.

Anderson Cooper

Cooper, who has hosted several presidential debates and town halls, also “may have a blindspot on the Right.” 96% of the news Cooper interacts with on Twitter leans Left, according to the tool, with his top sources being CNN, the New York Times, and CBS News. His top three news influences are 60 Minutes, his own show, and Jake Tapper.

Dana Bash

CNN’s Dana Bash also “may have a blindspot on the Right,” with 97% of the news she interacts with on Twitter leaning Left. Her top sources are CNN, the New Yorker, and the New York Times.

Erin Burnett

Similarly, CNN’s Erin Burnett may have a blindspot on the Right, with 84% of the news she interacts with on Twitter leaning Left. Her top sources are CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post.

Wolf Blitzer

According to Blindspotter, 100% of the news Blitzer interacts with on Twitter leans Left, and he may also “have a blindspot on the Right.” He doesn’t have any top sources.

Brooke Baldwin

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin may also have a blindspot on the Right, with 100% of the news she interacts with on Twitter leaning Left. Her top sources are CNN, the Daily Beast, and the New York Times.

Jim Acosta

CNN’s Jim Acosta, who famously went to battle with Donald Trump during his presidency, also “may have a blindspot on the Right.” 96% of the news Acosta interacts with on Twitter leans Left, and his top sources are CNN, the Washington Post and the New York Times.
