As California State University – Los Angeles administrators decide what to do about the students’ recent vote to fire the university’s president for allowing Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro to speak on campus, it seemed like a good moment to note that conservative firebrand Shapiro and dyed-in-the-wool progressive Barack Obama actually do agree on one thing: College students shouldn’t be “coddled.”
At a town hall in Des Moines, Iowa back in September, President Obama broke with the social justice “safe space” movement and chided college students for trying to silence their opponents, making the obvious point that it was important to actually engage with other points of view.
