On Thursday night, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) <a href="http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/chuck-grassley-newly-revealed-strzokpage-texts-raise-serious-concerns-about-impartiality-of-senior-doj-fbi-leadership/article/2647120">released seven pages of texts</a> between FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzock and his FBI paramour, Lisa Page. Those texts show that both Strzok and Page were interested in letting Hillary Clinton off the hook so as to earn the FBI goodwill with the presumed next president.
Page wrote to Strzok on February 25, 2016, &#8220;One more thing: she might be our next president. The last thing you need us going in there loaded for bear. You think she&#8217;s going to remember or care that it was more doj than fbi?&#8221; The obvious implication here is that Page wanted to go easy on Clinton in order to curry favor. Strzok wrote back, &#8220;Agreed. I called [FBI counterintelligence head] Bill [Priestap] and relayed what we discussed. He agrees. I will email you and [redacted] same.&#8221;
Another of the texts from Page to Strzok suggested that then-FBI chief of staff James Rybicki thought FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe should recuse himself from the Clinton matter because of his wife&#8217;s relationship with Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. She wrote, &#8220;Rybicki just called to check in. He very clearly 100% believes that Andy should be recused because of the &#8216;perception.&#8217;&#8221;
Grassley states in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, &#8220;In October 2015, then-Director Comey said, &#8216;If you know my folks&#8230;they don&#8217;t give a rip about politics.&#8217;&#8230;They cared very much about politics, to the detriment of the Bureau&#8217;s mission and objectivity.&#8221;
All of this is damning stuff. It explains just why Republicans are so deeply skeptical of the FBI&#8217;s investigation, not merely into Hillary Clinton, but into supposed Trump-Russia collusion. The Hillary Clinton investigation was clearly politicized, and both Strzock and Page were involved in the Trump investigation as well. No wonder trust in the FBI seems to be collapsing among Republicans.

New York City is on the verge of electing an actual communist mayor of the city, and this requires us to ask a question.
Why?
What is happening with the Left that they&#8217;ve decided to opt for Bernie Sanders over anything like a mainstream Democratic Party candidate?
Of course, this has been coming for a long time. Bernie Sanders ran an incredibly strong race against Hillary Clinton in 2016. Bernie Sanders then ran an incredibly strong race against Joe Biden in 2020.
Thus, there is something happening inside the Democratic Party — and it&#8217;s growing —and it&#8217;s growing — and it&#8217;s growing. That doesn&#8217;t mean the Democratic Party is growing and growing. In fact, the Democratic Party is shrinking even as this movement is growing.
It&#8217;s essentially a tumor destroying the health of the Democratic Party from the inside. But something is happening.
Zohran Mamdani, the former no-name, 33-year-old trust fund kid who’s a socialist and anti-Semite, who has worked for all of three combined years, I believe, in his entire adult life (and that includes him rapping), is now on the verge of becoming the mayor of the most important city in the West.
I think reasonable people look at this and think he is winning in spite of those things. I think that&#8217;s missing the point. He&#8217;s winning because of those things.
That’s because there&#8217;s an Omnicause on the Left; the Scavenger cause, which is to tear down all the systems. Inchoate rage at the system channeled into socialist economics, Howard Zinn-inspired foreign policy, and destructive hatred of traditional institutions.

That Scavenger philosophy has gained tremendous credence with the dissatisfied Left, a Left that achieved many of its victories and now has plunged itself directly into nihilism.
The problem with the Left over the course of the last several decades has been that they caught the car. In the 1960s, the Left in the United States began to catch the car with everything from the sexual revolution to the overturning of the constitutional order. In doing so, they then had to construct a system.
The problem is that when you construct a system and then the system fails and fails and fails again, and then the backlash happens in the form of a Donald Trump, you start to lose your mind, you start to become insane.
Thus, instead of them wanting to capture the commanding heights of the system and change the system from within incrementally, “make it better,” which used to be the Democratic way, now they just want to burn everything down.
That is not a particularly attractive message to a broader American public that does not want to burn everything down. The secret about President Trump is that when President Trump ran in 2016, pledging that he was going to burn everything down, the reality is that people realistically believed that he was going to burn some things down, but he was certainly not going to burn everything down.
They actually thought he would be a lot more moderate than he said he would be. It turned out in many ways that he was significantly more institutionalist in his approach from 2016 to 2020 than people expected him to be. Even today, all the crazy people who are yelling about him challenging democracy, won’t recognize that democracy is not under threat, that the courts are not under threat. This idea that Donald Trump is simply running roughshod over our most cherished institutions is a lie.
But Democrats have always used revolutionary language in order to push forward evolutionary ends. Interestingly, Donald Trump did the same thing inside the Republican Party. He used revolutionary language to achieve evolutionary ends. All of that is normal politics in the United States.
That’s what&#8217;s currently happening to the Left. Bernie Sanders and his entire wing of the party are using revolutionary language because they want an actual revolution. This is why you have seen the Left nodding at riots over the course of the last decade, at actual attempts at revolution in the streets.
It&#8217;s why so much of the Left was fine with Luigi Mangione shooting the United Healthcare CEO, because revolution requires a few broken eggs, and it is why Bernie Sanders now has the whip hand in the Democratic Party.
Zohran Mamdani is simply channeling Bernie Sanders at this point, with a few added features. He&#8217;s ethnically diverse, he&#8217;s not originally born in America, his father is a postcolonial studies professor at Columbia University of Shia Muslim descent, and his mother is an Indian-American filmmaker of Punjabi Hindu descent.
All these things add a smattering of exoticism to Zohran Mamdani. The fact that he is a rabid anti-Semite obviously sprinkles a lot of pizazz atop the Omnicause stew. He&#8217;s Greta Thunberg with a beard, with a more ethnically exotic background, and with a lot more charisma.
He is the face of the international Left in a nutshell. In his victory speech, he said:
<blockquote>Let me close with this. In these dark times, I know that it is harder than ever to keep faith in our democracy. It has been attacked by billionaires and their big spending by elected officials who care more about self-enrichment than the public trust, and by authoritarian leaders who rule through fear. But above all, our democracy has been attacked from within. For too long, New Yorkers have strained to find a leader who represents us, who puts us first, and we have been betrayed time and again after so many disappointments. 
The heart hardens, belief becomes elusive, and when we no longer believe in our democracy, it only becomes easier for people like Donald Trump to convince us of his worth, for billionaires to convince us that they must always lead. And I pledge to you that we will remake this great city not in my image, but in the image of every New Yorker who has only known struggle.</blockquote>
“Known struggle?” Are you kidding me? Mamdani has experienced a shocking lack of struggle in his young and non-achievement-oriented life. 
According to <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/kylemullins/2025/06/24/heres-how-much-new-york-city-mayoral-candidate-zohran-mamdani-is-worth/">Forbes</a>:
<blockquote>At a panel in Harlem in February, New York state assembly member Zohran Mamdani discussed a piece of proposed legislation that would strip Columbia University of various tax breaks and redirect the revenue to fund the City’s university system. Mamdani’s no stranger to Columbia—his father is a Harvard-educated, renowned professor there, and he grew up in university-owned housing. “Columbia was our first landlord,” he told the crowd, according to an account in the student newspaper. &#8230; Forbes estimates Mamdani to be worth around $200,000. &#8230; Mamdani attended Bank Street, a prestigious Manhattan private school that now costs as much as $66,000 a year for elementary school students, before graduating from the Bronx High School of Science, one of the city’s best public schools. &#8230; he studied Africana Studies at Bowdoin College, a private liberal arts school in Maine.
After graduating, he worked on his mom&#8217;s sets. He tried his hand at a rap career using the monikers Young Cardamom and Mr. Cardamom, and “took jobs working on several political campaigns and community organizing efforts.”</blockquote>
That is legitimately his entire work history. This is a person who is campaigning for those who “have only known struggle.”
What is he actually saying?
What he is saying is that if you are unsuccessful in life, what is required is a revolution: a revolution led by someone like Zohran Mamdani, a trust-fund kid.
That&#8217;s what he is. And yet he is treated as though he is a revolutionary.
By the way, a dirty little secret about revolutions: They are very rarely led by true members of the low-income classes. They are usually led by upper-middle-income people who feel upset that they didn&#8217;t get their “fair worth.”
That’s Mamdani. And so he is taking Bernie Sanders’ economics and slapping on top of that all of the spicy peppers that makes so many liberals go absolutely gaga, particularly white, highly-educated, rich, elite liberals.
All the things that normal people see in Mamdani as problems are nectar to the Left.
When I say that Bernie Sanders is taking over the Democratic party, this is what I mean. AOC is Bernie Sanders wearing AOC’s face. Mamdani is Bernie Sanders wearing Mamdani’s face.
There’s a reason that leftists are marching with a queer flag and a Palestinian flag and an Iran flag and also voting for Zohran Mamdani: because they are about destroying the things that work — in the name of nothing.
It is not as though they want to build a better system. They do not have the capacity to build a better system.
This is about a shout and a cry at the “establishment,” screaming at the moon in the name of revolution.
That is Bernie Sanders.
Bernie has never been on a major piece of legislation. Bernie is a lifelong loser. He&#8217;s a loser.
But that doesn&#8217;t mean he’s not dangerous.
Losers can absolutely be dangerous.

You finally did it, you maniacs! You blew it up.
We are now living at the very end of “Planet of the Apes,” when stunned Americans wander the beaches of New York City and find the Statue of Liberty half-buried in the sand. That’s because Zohran Mamdani, a communist pro-Jihadi insane person who seems to have been bred in the laboratory at Columbia University just to be a leftist pastiche, is now the mayoral frontrunner in New York City because he won the Democratic primary last night in stunning fashion over the disgraced former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo.
According to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/25/nyregion/cuomo-mamdani-mayor-primary-nyc.html">The New York Times</a>:
<blockquote>Zohran Mamdani, a little-known state lawmaker whose progressive platform and campaign trail charisma electrified younger voters, stunned former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary for mayor of New York on Tuesday night, building leads so commanding that Cuomo actually conceded.</blockquote>
Cuomo said, 
<blockquote>I&#8217;m very proud of the campaign that we ran, and I&#8217;m proud of the effort that we put forth, and I&#8217;m proud of the issues that we discussed. But tonight was not our night. Tonight was Assemblyman Mondani’s night, and he put together a great campaign, and he touched young people and inspired them and moved them and got them to come out and vote. And he really ran a highly impactful campaign. I called him; I congratulated him. I applaud him sincerely for his effort and let&#8217;s give him a round of applause.</blockquote>
So, Sad Sack Cuomo now wants to run as an Independent. We will find out whether that is real or whether that is not real, because after he registers as an independent — and now the mayoral race becomes Eric Adams, who’s running as an independent, and Cuomo running as independent, against Mamdani, who will be the Democratic nominee — Mamdani is pretty clearly the front-runner.
The Times continued: “Mamdani, a 33-year-old democratic socialist from Queens, tapped into a current and current of anxiety around New York City&#8217;s growing affordability crisis and his joyful campaign” — it&#8217;s always joyful for The New York Times. When you are a socialist nutjob, that means that you are filled with “joy,” so much “joy,” and anybody who accurately characterizes the state of New York City as not particularly good, that person is filled with rage.
They did the same routine about Kamala Harris. You remember she was so “filled with joy” and Donald Trump was so “filled with rage.”
It turns out that Trump&#8217;s perspective on reality was significantly more linked to reality than Kamala’s perspective.
Apparently, Cuomo was filled with “rage” and “despair,” but Mamdani was filled with joy.
There&#8217;ll be so much “joy” at these state-run supermarkets. I&#8217;m not kidding when I say that. That was one of the Mamdani proposals: he wants the city to run supermarkets because he believes that the profit motive is creating bad grocery choices in New York City, which is psychotic. Socialists have never been good at the distribution of food. That&#8217;s why they have bread lines in socialist countries. And Mamdani is not just a left-leaning Norwegian type. Mamdani is someone who believes in full-scale nationalization, the government running the means of production.
When we say he&#8217;s a communist, he&#8217;s an actual, honest-to-God communist.

I think the most important thing here to remember is that young Democrats are basically sixth-grade voters in your middle-school election.
If you ever ran for student body president in middle school, you will remember that if you ran a normal campaign pledging, for example, that you were going to clean up the gym better, and then some kid came in and said, “I pledge free ice cream and no homework for everyone,” all the kids voted for that idiot.
That&#8217;s New York City when it comes to all of the Gen X, millennial, and Gen Z voters, particularly white people.
If you look at the voting map of New York City from Tuesday night, you will notice something very funny. Everyone who actually has to live in the parts of the city that are not the richest parts of the city voted against him. 
Mamdani is simply an essential boiling down of every luxury belief that upper-class, college-educated white people hold, and those beliefs are insane.
You wonder why I&#8217;m very much in favor of President Trump effectively wrecking the universities?
This is why. They have become indoctrination centers for Zohran Mamdani and his voters.
Blame this on the upper-class, college-educated white people. That&#8217;s who did this. It shows you that college makes people stupid.
As a resident of Florida since 2020, let me say this to all the high-net-worth individuals in New York City, all the people who pay taxes, all the productive people in New York City with investment firms and financial investments: We&#8217;re here for you, down here in Florida. We&#8217;re here.
But leave your values at the border because your stupid values bought you this. So don&#8217;t come down to my state and wreck my state. We&#8217;ll be checking ID as you come down into my state. We&#8217;ll be deporting all the New York illegal immigrants who come into the state of Florida if you come down here and you bring your Democratic crap politics to my state.
But if you&#8217;re coming down here as an act of contrition and repentance, noticing that your city has completely destroyed itself, noticing that your city is now trending toward full-scale socialism, wrecking all of the things that made New York City great, all of the investment, all of the creativity, all of the innovation, in favor of redistributionist nonsense — if you&#8217;re coming down here and you are simply bringing your productivity and your innovation and yes, your wealth, down to Florida from New York, come on down. We&#8217;re here for you. We&#8217;ll be here for you in your time of need.
And yes, the real estate prices may be a little bit higher since that&#8217;s your penalty for not having seen what was coming in the city that you helped to wreck over a period of time.

You Finally Did It, You Maniacs

There was a bit of a têe-à-tête between Israel, Iran, and the United States that broke out on Tuesday morning.
Here&#8217;s what happened. Just before the ceasefire went into place, Iran fired a barrage of ballistic missiles into Israel. One of those ballistic missiles struck an apartment building in Beersheba (Be&#8217;er Sheva), which is in the south of Israel. At least seven people were murdered, 86 more people wounded, because this is what Iran does: target civilians, including women and children. Conversely, Israel, just before the ceasefire, took out a bunch of IRGC leaders at their headquarters.
Then the time for the ceasefire came. Israel stopped; Iran did not.
Iran instead sent a couple of missiles into northern Israel after the ceasefire, because this is what they always do. It’s not a shock; when Israel essentially wiped out Hezbollah in southern Lebanon back in October of 2024, and a ceasefire was declared, Hezbollah attempted a few actions violating the ceasefire just to see if they could get away with it.
So that is what Iran did.
And Israel prepared to fire back.
President Trump then went on Truth Social, writing:

And then he had a rather heated exchange with a reporter talking about how upset he was that Israel and Iran were still firing at each other, essentially. He said:
<blockquote>They (Iran) violated it, but Israel violated it too. As soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs. The likes of which I&#8217;ve never seen before, the biggest load that we&#8217;ve seen. I&#8217;m not happy with Israel. You know, when I say, &#8220;Okay, now you have 12 hours,&#8221; you don&#8217;t go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on them.
So I&#8217;m not happy with them. I&#8217;m not happy with Iran either, but I&#8217;m really unhappy if Israel is going out this morning because of one rocket that didn&#8217;t land that was shot, perhaps by mistake, that didn&#8217;t land. I&#8217;m not happy about that. You know what we have? We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don&#8217;t know what the f*** they’re doing. You understand that? Okay.</blockquote>
Then President Trump walked away. There are a lot of people on every side who got very upset with President Trump about this. I am not, and the reason I am not is because I think that he&#8217;s attempting to enforce the ceasefire: end of story. That&#8217;s what this is. The president is saying, “Everybody, it&#8217;s weapons down. It&#8217;s weapons down.”

In fact, according to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu&#8217;s office, <a href="https://x.com/AmitSegal/status/1937487076343132584">this is actually how</a> it ended up materializing:
<blockquote>The ceasefire was set to begin at 07:00 this morning. At 03:00, Israel forcefully attacked in the heart of Tehran, struck regime targets and eliminated hundreds of Basij and Iranian security forces personnel. Shortly before the ceasefire took effect, Iran launched a barrage of missiles, one of which took the lives of four of our Israeli civilians in Be&#8217;er Sheva. The ceasefire took effect at 07:00. At 07:06, Iran launched one missile at Israeli territory, and two additional missiles at 10:25. These missiles were either intercepted or fell in open areas, causing neither casualties nor damage.
In response to Iran’s violations, the Air Force destroyed a radar installation near Tehran. Pursuant to the conversation between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israel has refrained from additional attacks. In the conversation, President Trump expressed his great appreciation for Israel, which achieved all of its objectives in this war, as well as his confidence in the stability of the ceasefire.</blockquote>
President Trump was simply saying to all parties, &#8220;Stop it now. We&#8217;re done.&#8221;
By the way, I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s bad for Israel that President Trump is seen controlling the issue, because what that says to Iran is that if it were not for President Trump telling the Israelis to stop, those bombs would still be falling on your head. So cut that crap out right now.
That is the way I think President Trump meant for it to be read. And I think that&#8217;s the way that it will be read by Iran.
In fact, President Trump then came out within a couple of hours and put it on Truth Social: “IRAN WILL NEVER REBUILD THEIR NUCLEAR FACILITIES.” 
That came despite the fact that Tehran is openly vowing to restore its nuclear facilities. According to Iran&#8217;s nuclear chief, Mohammad Eslami, “The plan is to prevent interruptions in the process of production and services. Iran is assessing its damage to the nuclear industry following Israel&#8217;s intensive 12 Days campaign against it.” He also said that “arrangements are going to be made for its restoration.”
If President Trump identifies Iran rebuilding its nuclear facilities, he&#8217;s going to do something. And by the way, Israel will do something. They&#8217;re not going to sit idly by while Iran rebuilds any sort of nuclear capacity.
Here&#8217;s the bottom line: President Trump handled this situation better than any president of my lifetime. If you had told me at the beginning of this war that Israel would be able to do what it has done, that America, with effectively one B-2 sortie, would have been able to cripple Iran&#8217;s major nuclear facility at Fordow and also finish off Natanz and Esfahan in Iran — which, by the way, is what I suggested from the beginning of the war; that one B-2 flight is basically all that America would be required to do, and that would be it and then we&#8217;d get to the end of the war — I would have been stunned.
But it became true because President Trump lives in the world of reality. I can&#8217;t say this enough. He lives in the world of reality.
President Trump was never, ever going to get us into a nation-building project in Iran. For those who thought he would, have you met President Trump? Have you watched him for the last ten years?
What unbelievable lack of faith it showed in President Trump for people to suggest that Trump, of all people, was going to get us into World War III on a nation-building exercise in the Middle East.
Were they out of their damned minds?

Trump Draws The Line

President Trump’s strike on Iran is a seminal turning point for American foreign policy.
For years and years and years, we have been boxed into the idea that every war is the Iraq War.
Critics of President Trump — of “Peace through Strength,” going all the way back to World War II, particularly on the Left but now on the horseshoe theory Right as well — have suggested that people who do advocate for American military action liken everything to the lead-up to World War II, to Neville Chamberlain and Munich. They say not everything is World War II. Not every war is the Iraq War.
You might notice that the vast bevy of people who keep complaining about President Trump&#8217;s strike on the Iranian nuclear facilities keep comparing this to the Iraq War. That’s crazy.
These people who keep saying that a one-off strike on a nuclear facility — which is significantly more like killing Osama Bin Laden or killing Qasem Soleimani or killing Anwar al-Awlaki — is somehow more akin to the Iraq War: a full-scale, hundreds of thousands of troops ground invasion of a country in the Middle East, followed by a 20-year effort to rebuild the country and remold the government.
You have to be empty-headed to make that comparison.
But there is an Iraq War syndrome that has set in the American body politic that suggests that every military action is like the Iraq War. It&#8217;s very much like the Vietnam War syndrome that set in after the end of the Vietnam War, when every military action was supposed to be exactly what America did in Vietnam. It took Ronald Reagan breaking the Soviet Union in order for that to begin to end, and it truly ended when George H. W. Bush helped win the first Gulf War.
The lesson of Vietnam and Iraq is not: “Military power, or the threat of its use by the United States is bad,” or even worse, “The United States itself is bad,” which is an argument that is being made all the time by the horseshoe theory Left and the horseshoe theory Right.
The real lesson here is that victory is a possibility. Victory can be achieved if the commitment is clear and if the goal is defined.
President Trump had a goal. He defined that goal. He made a commitment to that goal. And then he pursued an action in pursuit of that goal.

The same people who are suggesting that President Trump is wrong to bomb the nuclear facilities are the same people who suggest that the United States was wrong to use the atomic bomb to end World War II, or that America has been historically evil over the course of decades. The Howard Zinn Left and the Tucker Carlson Right shake hands on this particular prospect.
But that perspective is wrong. And it is not just wrong, it is a nefariously bad perspective, because it damages America.
The world is better off because of American power — properly used. Of course power can be misused; anyone can misuse their power. We&#8217;re the most powerful country in the history of the world, with the most powerful military in the history of the world.
But — when you use your power properly, you can effectuate good things happening.
President Trump is not George W. Bush. He ran against George W. Bush’s foreign policy. President Trump has never engaged in a long-term nation building project, nor will he. He defined this mission specifically.

I do not actually think that the people warning about a “quagmire” are saying something understandable. I think they are saying something dishonest. I think they are lying to you.
Israel and the United States are not talking about regime change. When President Trump says that there may be regime change in Iran, he means from the Iranian people. That&#8217;s the same thing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said. Do you think Netanyahu, from a country of 9.7 million people, two million of whom are Arabs and two million of whom are ultra-Orthodox Jews, that tiny country is going to deploy hundreds of thousands of troops to Iran to engage in nation-building? Do you think the United States is going to do that?
If Iranians don&#8217;t overthrow the regime, that&#8217;s their prerogative. But that does not mean that you allow that regime to go nuclear.
All of this raises a question. What exactly is the opposition? What is the opposition here? What is the case against the strike on Iran?
You can basically make three cases: the constitutional, the pragmatic, and the ideological. I think there are a lot of people who are making the constitutional and pragmatic arguments who secretly want to make the ideological argument.
The ideological argument is that America is bad, that when America involves itself in foreign policy, we are doing something evil and immoral, that our enemies, our geopolitical opponents, never have their own philosophy or their own interests. They are always, in every case, driven by American blowback. The only reason people are bad in the world is because America did a bad thing to them, and then those people turn bad.
That, of course, is ignorant. It is stupid. It is wrong. Civilizations have different interests. Countries have different interests. Those countries are driven by interests that are not always about America. Iran pursued regional domination in spite of what America was doing, not because America was a threat to Iran.
Iran decided that it wanted to obliterate Israel, wanted to wipe Saudi Arabia from the map, and wanted to take control of Yemen, not because of America, but because that is the Iranian goal. Russia is invading Ukraine because that has been their longstanding policy, not because Ukraine was moving in a more pro-American direction. Russia decided it wanted to invade Ukraine because it has been Russian policy since the 1990s to reunify with Ukraine, or at least turn it into a proxy regime.
Countries have their own rationales. The ideological case, a Howard Zinn-America-Hating-First case, has been adopted by many on the horseshoe theory Right.
Then there are people masquerading as constitutionalists who are interested in the constitutionality of what Trump is doing. This idea that the War Powers Act (War Powers Resolution) somehow prevents the president of the United States from engaging in a one-off strike is absolute sheer nonsense. It is not true. First of all, there&#8217;s serious doubt as to whether the War Powers Resolution, passed by Congress in 1973, is even constitutional. It may, in fact, violate the Article II prerogatives of the President of the United States. Article II, Section II of the Constitution says, “The president shall be commander in chief of the army and navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states.” The president is the Commander-In-Chief.
Only Congress has the power to declare war under Article I, Section VIII, Clause XI.
But did we declare war against Iran? Is there a war against Iran? One-off airstrikes do not mean a full-scale war against a country. They don&#8217;t. If that&#8217;s true, then we&#8217;ve been at war many, many, many, many times since World War II, all across the globe. But that is not what war constitutes. The Supreme Court has said so.
The War Powers Resolution states: “In the absence of the declaration of war, the president must report to Congress within 48 hours after introducing U.S. military forces in hostilities, which must end within 60 days unless Congress permits otherwise.”
There&#8217;s only one problem. Do you think the United States is engaging in 60 days of on-the-ground hostilities with Iran? We barely engaged in 37 hours of hostilities with Iran. Does this amount to a War Powers Resolution violation?
Then there are those people “deeply worried” about the pragmatic effect of this, who were not worried a few years ago when President Trump killed Qasem Soleimani, and who didn&#8217;t seem particularly worried five minutes ago, before this all happened, when Iran had terror cells throughout the West, but now they&#8217;re very, very worried.
Iran has been pursuing terror attacks, including an attempted assassination of the current President of the United States, for decades. At this point, they have planted terror cells all throughout the world. If the idea is that planting terror cells buys Iran impunity and Iran can now act with complete impunity all over the globe, pursuing nuclear weapons, and that means you can&#8217;t do anything about it, then what is the purpose of American foreign policy? What is the purpose?
I&#8217;m not saying there isn’t a risk when you take action. I&#8217;m saying that the greater risk would be a nuclear-armed Iran with terrorist cells all across the West. That&#8217;s the bigger risk.
This “pragmatic concern” is, in reality, something else.
It is a belief that America&#8217;s foreign policy is inherently bad, that America is the nefarious actor in the world. It&#8217;s wrong and it&#8217;s stupid.
President Trump knew exactly what he was doing when he ordered the strike on Iran. 
And he was absolutely correct.

Trump’s Strike On Iran: A Vital Turning Point In American Foreign Policy

President Trump continues to play his cards, and everybody seems roiled by this.
Everybody on the anti-Israel Right and Left, the horseshoe theory group, seems to be very encouraged by the idea that President Trump is going to TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) out with regard to Iran, that somehow he&#8217;s now going to let Iran have a clear pathway to a nuclear weapon or something like that. And some people on the pro-Israel side are very agitated about this as well, thinking the same sort of thing.
That&#8217;s not what&#8217;s happening.
The Ayatollah Khamenei’s regime in Iran is a deeply evil regime that represses its people. It shoots protesters in the streets. It targets its various geopolitical opponents, ranging from Israel, which it wishes to extirpate, to Saudi Arabia. Remember, it wasn&#8217;t all that long ago that they were attempting to burn Saudi oilfields.
Does that mean that the goal here should be regime change by either Israel or the United States? Benjamin Netanyahu has said that regime change is not, in fact, the goal. President Trump also has said that if regime change occurs as a result of taking down the nuclear regime in Iran, destroying their capacity to create nuclear weapons, that&#8217;s only a side product.
But nobody — no one — and this is important because you&#8217;re hearing many, many people, on that horseshoe theory Right and on that horseshoe theory Left lie about the actual agenda here, just lie straight up — no one is calling for hundreds of thousands of boots on the ground in order to effect regime change in Iran. 
And when people compare this to Libya, that&#8217;s ridiculous. It is not like Libya. In Libya, most of the work was done by people who are already on the ground. There was some tangential association with Western intelligence. I opposed it at the time. It was wrong. We shouldn&#8217;t have done it.
But in this particular case, the goal is to extirpate the Iranian nuclear program. If the regime falls, it&#8217;s up to the Iranian people. That&#8217;s their job. It&#8217;s their country. But no one is calling for a full-scale, boots-on-the-ground, Iraq-style nation-building operation. The phrase nation-building has not even entered the conversation on any side here with regard to Iran.
So all the people who are suggesting that all of this must end because otherwise Iran is going to cascade into chaos and violence and the regime is going to fall and then we&#8217;re going to get involved and we&#8217;re going to be the ones responsible are just wrong.

The big news yesterday was that at the White House press conference with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt read a statement from President Trump that essentially set yet another deadline with regard to the destruction of the Iranian nuclear program: It read: “Based on the fact that there&#8217;s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future. I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.”
Okay. Within the next two weeks. So first of all, not in two weeks, within the next two weeks. In that period, President Trump is going to make a decision.
My guess is that the president already knows what he is going to do, because the reality is that the Iranians have no interest in giving up their nuclear program.
And that’s the point when you listen to the rest of what Karoline Leavitt had to say yesterday.
Donald Trump put out a post on Truth Social quoting Marc Thiessen of The Washington Post saying, “Donald Trump is not an isolationist, but I think some of the Republican isolationists are suddenly discovering that they&#8217;re out of touch with the MAGA movement and Donald Trump…I have total confidence in Donald Trump. This is the guy who killed Qasem Soleimani. You think he&#8217;s afraid to take out Fordow? Of course not.”
If you listen to what the rest of the White House Press Secretary was saying, Trump has not changed his opinion, and he&#8217;s not going to change his opinion. Iran cannot be nuclear.
“Let&#8217;s be very clear,” she stated. “Iran has all that it needs to achieve a nuclear weapon. All they need is a decision from the Supreme Leader to do that. And it would take a couple of weeks to complete the production of that weapon, which would, of course, pose an existential threat not just to Israel, but to the United States and to the entire world.”
And then she continued by suggesting, what are the conditions for a deal to be made? And guess what? The conditions are precisely the same as they&#8217;ve always been. 
I don&#8217;t know who&#8217;s high on their own supply here, who believes that President Trump has now radically shifted his position. He has not. He just put a clock on this issue. That&#8217;s all.
“No enrichment of uranium &#8230; Iran is absolutely not able to achieve a nuclear weapon. The president has been very clear about that,” Leavitt stated.
No uranium enrichment, no working toward a nuclear weapon. Does that sound like President Trump has changed his opinion now?
There was a quasi-celebration that broke out among the horseshoe theory folks suggesting that perhaps, finally, the isolationists got their win. Perhaps now Donald Trump was abandoning his entire stated goal with regard to the Iranian nuclear program for two decades.
Guys, you read him wrong. You are still reading him wrong. That&#8217;s not what the president of the United States is saying. That&#8217;s not what the president of the United States is doing.
Do you guys not speak English?
“Nobody should be surprised by the president&#8217;s position that Iran absolutely cannot obtain a nuclear weapon. He has been unequivocally clear about this for decades, not just as president, not just as a presidential candidate, but also as a private citizen,” she said. “In fact, I have some quotes for you. In 2011, President Trump said America&#8217;s primary goal with Iran must be to destroy its nuclear ambitions. We cannot allow this radical regime to acquire a nuclear weapon that they will either use or hand off to terrorists. In 2015, the president said, the problem is that Iran poses an existential threat to Israel, our Middle Eastern allies and the United States. And of course, the president has repeated that in his first term as president, in his second term as president as well. That&#8217;s why he was adamantly opposed to the disastrous Iranian nuclear agreement that was implemented by President Obama. And as I just told you from the president directly, he will make a decision within two weeks.”
Is this Trump chickening out? No. This is President Trump setting a clock again and saying, “This is your final chance. This is your final, final chance.” There are no more final chances. Do not pass go; do not collect $200.
Leavitt points out that the president is doing a good job of getting the whole world on board. And one of the astonishing things about this is virtually everyone agrees — yeah, the Europeans are mewling a little bit, but that&#8217;s what you would expect, when the Israelis want the opinions of the French on something, they can always call the French and learn how to surrender in war —the truth is most of the Europeans are truly grateful to Israel for taking out the nuclear program. In fact, the chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, said specifically that he is thankful that Israel is doing the dirty work the rest of the world has ignored for several decades.
“Well, certainly the entire world is on the president&#8217;s side when it comes to the fact that Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon,” Leavitt said. “This is something that pretty much all of humanity — except for the Iranian terrorist regime themselves — agree upon.”
Meanwhile, the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, says his country will not surrender.
For all those who believe that this is likely to end in some sort of conciliatory negotiation with the Iranians, I think it’s highly doubtful.
Very highly doubtful.

Trump’s Final Ultimatum To Iran

There&#8217;s a perspective that has broken out into the open on both the horseshoe theory Left and the horseshoe theory Right — that America sucks, that America has always sucked, and that there has always been something wrong with the United States.
And that wrongness continues today.
There&#8217;s a lot of crossover in these two wings of American politics, but perhaps the most clear exemplar of this philosophy comes in the form of Whoopi Goldberg, who represents a sort of pixilated version of this philosophy, a dumbed-down version of this philosophy.
Wednesday, on ABC’s “The View” ( a repository of nearly all human stupidity), she decided she was going to sound off about the Israel-Iran war. Goldberg, of course, is a believer that Iran is not all that bad, that they can be negotiated with, that there was never anything wrong with Iran, that America has similar problems, and who are we to judge?
She decided to talk about how being a woman in Iran — which can mean being beaten for not wearing the proper head covering, not being able to work at a job they worked at before the Islamic Revolution in 1979 — is the same as being black in America in 2025.
That’s an astonishingly stupid claim. It’s absurd. 
Whoopi Goldberg is sitting there on the set of a nationally televised show, being paid millions of dollars after having been once an actress a long time ago, saying that being black in America is akin to being a woman in Iran, or a gay person in Iran —where gay people in Iran are hanged from cranes.
Whoopi Goldberg is feted for saying unbelievably low IQ, stupid things on a nationally televised show every single day. But apparently, that lack of perspective has become indicative of a broader trend in American life, which is to just whine about America, to crap on America.
It&#8217;s not relegated to Whoopi Goldberg. Barack Obama did this for a large part of his career as well, suggesting in 2008 that America always had great ideals, we just hadn&#8217;t lived up to them. That was the unifying part. And then, after he won, it turned into America kind of sucks, has kind of always sucked.

And now it turns out, according to Barack Obama, America sucks even more than usual.
He did an interview with The New York Times in which he suggested that we are drifting into something that is not consistent with American democracy; it&#8217;s consistent with autocracies. It&#8217;s consistent with Hungary under Viktor Orban.
First of all, we should point out that there are, in fact, elections in Orban&#8217;s Hungary. But beyond that, Barack Obama complaining about the twisting of the institutions of the United States against democracy is garbage.
Barack Obama doesn&#8217;t really get to talk about this, considering the fact that he used the federal government to threaten private industry very early on in his administration, that he used every aspect of his government in order to crack down on political opposition up to and including the IRS. 
During his tenure, Obama ran down America fairly routinely. He understood that Americans didn&#8217;t like that very much. In “Dreams from My Father,” his first book, he wrote:
I know, I have seen, the desperation and disorder of the powerless: how it twists the lives of children on the streets of Jakarta or Nairobi in much the same way as it does the lives of children on Chicago&#8217;s South Side, how narrow the path is for them between humiliation and untrammeled fury, how easily they slip into violence and despair. I know that the response of the powerful to this disorder &#8211; alternating as it does between a dull complacency and, when the disorder spills out of its proscribed confines, a steady, unthinking application of force, of longer prison sentences and more sophisticated military hardware &#8211; is inadequate to the task.
Notice the tacit endorsement of the idea that black people living in the South Side of Chicago is the same thing as impoverished children living on the streets of Jakarta, Indonesia, or Nairobi. That is an absurd contention.
But that sort of moral relativism — that runs throughout a large part of the Left that suggests that America is historically bad — remains bad today. A hallmark of the Left throughout the Cold War era was that there was really no difference between the United States and the Soviet Union. In fact, at least the Soviet Union was shooting for some form of equality. The United States was an unequal, terrible society.
This is an argument that was made by the Left. It is also an argument increasingly made by a sort of horseshoe theory Right, which suggests that America is bad today and it&#8217;s bad for a wide variety of reasons, but it was bad historically in the past as well.
When Donald Trump says, “Make America Great Again,” there are two reasons that his rhetoric resonates with so many Americans. One is that when Americans hear “Make America Great Again,” what they believe is that there are American principles that are fundamentally great, and we have to do a better job living up to them and implementing them. What makes America great, for example, is, say, the Constitution of the United States and its ideals; what makes America great are our principles of limited government, private property, free speech, and traditional values. That combination, that stew of Anglo-American ideals and applied uniquely in the United States, that&#8217;s what made America great. We need to get back to that. That&#8217;s what they hear when they hear Make America Great.
The other way of hearing it is we think of great moments in American history, and we say we want to be great like we were at that moment. Not that America was “greater” in 1960, when segregation was still on the books in the South, or that America was “greater” in the 1850s, when slavery was still practiced across half the country, but that there are moments in American history in which we have lived up to our great ideals, and we should make America great again like that.
We should have, for example, a unity of purpose as we did during World War II. We should, for example, have an industrialized economy that is forward-thinking and forward-looking the way that we did in, say, the 1950s.
There&#8217;s an idea that we have in our head when we say, “Make America Great Again.” And that&#8217;s what President Trump is calling upon and appealing to.
But there&#8217;s a part of the Right that really believes that America was never great, in the same way that the Left agrees that America was never great. They believe, for example, that the expansion across the West in the early days of America was imperialist and colonialist in the same way that the Left claims that America is imperialist and colonialist.
There&#8217;s a part of the Right that believes, like a part of the Left, that the Civil War was wrongly fought, that it would have been better if the South had been allowed to keep slaves, because, after all, an overweening federal government means broader federal power.
There&#8217;s a part of the Right that believes, like a part of the Left, that the Gilded Age, in which American industry began to really grow in America, became a world power economically, was bad and exploitative.
And it believes that the United States was bad in World War I, or that the United States was evil in World War II for dropping the A-bomb at the end of World War II, or that the United States was terrible during the Cold War because we opposed the communists too strenuously, and we&#8217;ve been corrupted from the inside by globalists.
There is this part of the Right that believes, like the Left, that there is something fundamentally wrong with America and it&#8217;s been wrong for generations; that the post-Cold War era was characterized by American evil, that America is a bad force in the world. 
There are many problems with this perspective. The first and foremost of which is that it is historically wrong.
America is the greatest force for human freedom in the history of the world. There is not really a close second. America is the greatest force for human prosperity in the history of the world. There really is not a close second.
Why is this important? Because if you cannot define what makes America great or what made America great, if you are in the moral relativist category of suggesting, for example, that America is akin to Russia, you know, both countries kill people, the sort of Michael Corleone cynical perspective in “The Godfather” when he says to Kay, “Senators have people killed, too,” which is a really puerile perspective. I know people like to cite the Michael Corleone speech to Kay as though there&#8217;s a sort of a world-weary explanation of American politics: “American senators have people killed just like dictators.”
No, they don&#8217;t. I know America. Do you think that senators in the United States have the capacity to have people murdered willy-nilly the way that Vladimir Putin, for example, shoves people off of buildings in Russia? If you think that, it’s because you are being deliberately obtuse or morally relativistic or both.
Why does this matter?
Because if you don&#8217;t know what America is about and what makes America great, how do you defend it? What are the principles that you are seeking to defend?
If you don&#8217;t like America at all, what are you defending America from? One of the signal features of the West for generations has been this self-loathing that has taken root in large parts of the Left and certain corners of the Right, the self-loathing that says that the West ought not defend itself in any way, shape or form, and we can&#8217;t defend ourselves because there&#8217;s something deeply, spiritually wrong with us.
It&#8217;s garbage. America has always been worth defending. The country that gave the world the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution is still the greatest country in the history of the world. 
Period.
